Retail Fails – Aggregate Index: 37.16 Points To Go?

“OK, I’m capitulating on Bitcoin.”  It was my consigliere calling on Wednesday to throw in the towel.  This wizened old tax attorney had started the conversation by asking “Is this Uncle? Check Ure email. I send you and [redacted colleague] an explanation. I’m calling “Uncle.

Wholly without his consent, here’s what the email said:

OK … I am capitulating on Bitcoin!!   It is going up and NO logic will keep it from going UP.  Once it breaks through the resistance of its all time high (for rounding purposes let’s just call that $60,000) it is going to at least $150,000 on this move before it’s over.

OK … now why am I capitulating?

#1  [redacted colleague] is right, the dollar is going down, slowly though since there are at present NO other good transactional currencies available, BUT as a “Store of Value” everyone knows it is no longer a good long-term investment and people are casting around for SOMETHING … ANYTHING … that can be that store of value

#2 I was wrong long ago when I told Cliff High (when he  first started trying to get me to buy it when it was 9 cents each) that it was just computer code and ALL computer code can be hacked.  So far it has not “yet” been hacked so it is much more durable than I could even conceive of back in 2009 – 2011.  I was wrong … and the fact that central banks are now talking about their own central bank digital currencies tells me that the coding method applied has stood the test of time.

#3 When I was going through the Denver Airport on Jan 25th, the low-end part … i.e.: the Southwest Terminal, on the BIG electronic advertising sign in that terminal, just a few days after the Bitcoin ETF’s were approved about ½ of the time cycling through was an advertisement to BUY BITCOIN ETF’s.  The Wall Street Marketing Muscle is NOW AT WORK to normalize Bitcoin for the masses, and making it EASY for them to buy …  not just “at work” but putting it FRONT AND CENTER in front of the middle-class investor class.

Big Government has finally capitulated … and is allowing LEGAL ownership of Bitcoin and in fact that product is so successful that they are trying to move fast to create a Government Version of that product.

How high can Bitcoin go with all the marketing muscle now behind it?

I think much depends upon how fast people /investors  /countries abandon the Dollar as a store of value (for transactional purposes it will remain until China’s economy and currency becomes more stable … imo)

OK … the LAST BEAR has finally capitulated.  Make of it what you will.”

Seasoned and wizened, though he is, I informed him (again) how the Chiefs’ top is holding and my outlook for today is that after our Aggregate Index moves another 37.16 points higher, or more, we will notch a picture-perfect Fibonacci retrace from the manic down from last Friday’s likely top.

Bitcoin has problems, too.

Just because no one is talking about it, the data still drives our thinking.  “Bitcoin’s all-time high (ATH) was $68,789.63 on November 10, 2021.” says the A.I.  And as of early today, BTC had rallied higher, but was trading in American waking hours in the vicinity of $52,302.

Let me help you with the math.  That’s a 76 percent retracement from it’s all-time high. We don’t have all day to write long explanations of how retracement levels are real.  Instead, go study What Are Fibonacci Retracement Levels, and What Do They Tell You? (investopedia.com) for some schooling.

Meanwhile, my conservation with our consigliere ended with two numbers.

“Remember, it’s either 1636-1637 or 1722.”

My consigliere is in excellent company in his capitulation. Sir Isaac Newton himself owned nearly £22,000 in South Sea stock in 1722, but it is not known how much he lost, if anything.  I’ll no doubt hear from my consigliere when the fever breaks, but for now – and like Newton – he’s in it to win it.

Being skeptical, we’re just in it not to lose.

Retail Fails

Counter-trends will be the death of us; spending hours trying to sort out the cross currents.  On the one hand, the National Debt is screaming more inflation will be along (to make up the spending gap with incomes). But if inflation was really coming (as promised) wouldn’t we see the PGM (platinum metals group, gold, silver, yada, yada) going up, as well?

As of today, gold was bouncing around the $2,000 level and the price of oil was still holding around $81 bucks.  The big whopper is that gold is moving into crypto, but I’ve interviewed too many Swiss gnomes over the past half-century.  They ain’t stupid.  Instead, they let excesses – like the one we’re in, which may remind you of the Housing Bungle vibe or the Internet bubble before that – to lock-in their incredibly good positions ahead of the bottom dropping out.

Which wheels us around to the Retail Sales report just out:

Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for January 2024, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $700.3 billion, down 0.8 percent (±0.5 percent) from the previous month, and up 0.6 percent (±0.7 percent)* above January 2023. Total sales for the November 2023 through January 2024 period were up 3.1 percent (±0.5 percent) from the same period a year ago. The November 2023 to December 2023 percent change was revised from up 0.6 percent (±0.5 percent) to up 0.4 percent (±0.3 percent).

When in doubt, revise?

This genuinely sucks, but in the shill’s world, this will be pandered as good news to drive the market up so the sharps can unload onto the wee people.

Retail trade sales were down 1.1 percent (±0.5 percent) from December 2023, and down 0.2 percent (±0.5 percent)* below last year. Nonstore retailers were up 6.4 percent (±1.6 percent) from last year, while food
services and drinking places were up 6.3 percent (±2.3 percent) from January 2023.

The interesting part – and what snookered the market earlier this week, was the Brainiac types didn’t figure people’s spending would drive up prices so fast and furious that they’d begin buying (which they will in inflation) before prices go up.

More revisions are coming though:

Intention to Revise: Monthly retail sales estimates will be revised based on the results of the 2022 Annual Retail Trade Survey and the Service Annual Survey. Revised not adjusted estimates and corresponding adjusted estimates are scheduled for release on April 23, 2024

We’re thinking that we won’t see a Fed rate drop now until summer – and that sets up a delayed onset of recession, which means we won’t be out of it before the election this fall.

Another chunk in the dike – where we’d like to see a nice winter-into-spring decline followed by a moderate summer rally. To be followed by utter collapse in the fall when no one will trust elections, the border will still be wide open with the idiots in DC guilty of treason, while trying to light off nuke war (or Disease X) so that all the voting will be done by mail which is a sure-fire solution for democrats to lock in their coup-for-life.

Peachy, huh?

Around the Ranch: KW’s Rising

The arrival, sometime next week, I figure, of our latest batch of solar will bring our on-site count to 40 panels on the grid-tied system.  And another two for the lean-to greenhouse,  Plus one to power the ham radio crank up tower, so 43.  And with the solar powered, web streaming surveillance cams, 47…so if you are following, we have done more for climate here than any climate talker we can think of.  Our short list?

  • Sold our private plane.  See any of the climate shills doing that?  Nope. Too “important” and above the rest of us.
  • We are a tree farm:  We sequester carbon all day, every day. The talkers are hot air sources.
  • Passed the 20-solar panels per person mark for the people living here.  All both of us. Wonder how many of the climateers have done this?
  • We use minimal aerosols.  Lysol in the bathrooms and WD-40 and Kroil in the shop. Roll-on deodorants and perfumes with pumps for us. Electric essential oil diffusers.
  • We don’t buy new vehicles, because keeping old ones well-maintained is more environmentally responsible. The carbon footprint of a 20-year old Lexus is smaller than a new hybrid, right? No mining, no robbery of indigenous people.  Oh, and damn reliable not to mention collectible, on top. The 22-year old pickup has the same payload as a new one and saves us $65,000 right there…
  • Minimal processed foods:  And our own greenhouse kept pumping out tomatoes all winter. Along with Swiss chard, green peppers, and…

Point I am getting to?  It is possible for each of us – if we so choose – to live a voluntarily environmentally responsible lifestyle without a bunch of power-hungry, greedy, misanthropic, dictatorial, erudite pricks telling us what to do.

Yes. We do have a BBQ and stored fuels like diesel are part of our sane future.  This useless administration of virtue-signaling dictocrats need to be shown the door.  America can find its own best natural balance points without the imposition of a left-wing ruling class. Though it’s the only growth industry out there lately, besides war.

We think our choices have been pretty good.

To assert we don’t need gas appliances – mouthed by people who in some cases can’t even figure out what sex they are – is the pinnacle of stupidity. Maybe the lower half of the IQ distribution will fall for it, but not over 100s, certainly.

Count the jets at Davos. That’s a minimum number of globalist pricks who can’t walk their own talk, who need to be stripped of their wealth until they can come around to being honest with us. We don’t need dictates, though. Take your sailboat to Europe and a train up the hill.

Something I learned long ago: If I can’t do a job myself, never dictate to those who can.  The current crop of leader fakes never learned the concept. Shame, but ignore them.  Show ’em the door in ’24.

Pepper Water:  You might remember a good while back, reader Hank out in Hawaii sent me some seeds of Hawaiian Peppers. They went into the sunniest corner of the lean-to greenhouse.  And last week, we picked what looked to be the last of the crop.

They were thrown in a half cup over Everclear and steeped for a week.  Maybe 30-40 of the little guys – shaped like a length-extended pinecone, but only a quarter inch around and an inch long. Bright red.

OMG!!!  You talk about hot…J Lordy they are hot.  An hour later my tongue was still feeling the afterburn.  We promptly put a 1/2 a cup of vinegar  into the jar to level it down to a useful pepper water for cooking. And to prevent a government inspection of what amounts to a capsicum-driven version of a nuclear fuel rod cooling pond on the kitchen counter.

Gotta check and see if this hell liquid can be used for welding soft metals. Makes Chinese mustard look pathetically weak.  Might be a stronger second-cousin of ghost peppers, though.

      • In 2012 it was the hottest year by far.. I went out the first week in March and the soil was warm down into the bed over a foot.. so I laughed and said I was going to plant.. everyone told me I was nuts.. it was the only part of the garden that I got anything out of.. we were done eating radishes by the middle of april.. and by then it was two hot.. anyway.. I planted a couple of green pepper plants.. sweet green bell peppers.. it was so hot that summer that all I got was this tiny thing that looked like a green pepper.. but it was about the size of a raison .. so I brought it in anyway.. joked about its size.. and chopped it up and put it in a big salad.. that dam pepper was so hot.. that everyone had sweat on their foreheads.. LOL I ended up having to throw out the whole salad LOL LOL LOL..

    • Carolina Reapers are dangerous. One year I grew a bunch of assorted hotties.

I touched the dried placenta of a CR to break apart the seeds for the next year’s grow and didn’t wash my hands after. Soon after I touched me tallywhacker and within a minute or two I was in the shower! LOL Be careful.

  2. Hey Yo Mr Green Shadey,

Need some help with Ure Maths. Unfortunately I am public school edumacated, and therefore lacking in the Maths.
My rudimentary rumination’s indicate a 24% rate of retrace.

Where did I make a mistake ? Please advise as Ure fibbing retracement levels smells like..

  3. “front of the middle-class investor class.”

    Bailouts will flow.

What happens when the local McBurger joint isn’t delivering burgers out their window? Boeing hasn’t been delivering out their window.

When we’re told one of the TBTF banks or pension funds went all in on Bitcoin… they will be bailed just as sure as water will be wet tomorrow. Water cascades and so do missed payments.

We’ll be told something like if they aren’t bailed commerce will collapse and we won’t be able to buy/trade ever again. Just as we were told if GM isn’t bailed the supply chain will collapse and we won’t have cars anymore. Zero-sum is simple.

The small-fries probably won’t get direct bailout for being in BTC but instead .gov will give everyone bailout to paper over the small-fry’s loss of collateral so there isn’t a cascade event. Nobody gets jailed, ‘cept for Bankman-Fied and the beat goes on….

  4. We here at El Rancho de Chaos concur with your statement “to live a voluntarily environmentally responsible lifestyle without a bunch of power-hungry, greedy, misanthropic, dictatorial, erudite pricks telling us what to do.” Although IMO you could reduce the word count by simply saying “Assholes”.

Your pepper experiment is interesting. Have you considered using it as a repellant? The year after my grandfather passed the blister beatles destroyed grandma’s garden. She had a cellar full of pickled hot peppers, AKA liquid Hellfire, and told me how Grandpa made bug spray using them.
I secured a gallon jar containing unknown varieties of said peppers being careful not to spill any since the lid and ring had dissolved away in the year it had been in storage. I drained about a quart of the juice into Grandpa’s commercial grade pump sprayer with all metal parts and brass hose fittings. Grandpa was also a tool slut, only the best. I took the sprayer out to the garden which I can only describe the scene of blister beetles devouring everything as Biblical. I gave the sprayer a good 20 pumps and began spraying the invading bugs. It was like the movie Independence Day, the beetles were falling and almost dissolving when I hit them with the spray. About the time I thought this was like a homemade flame thrower, suddenly my right hand holding the hose felt like it was on fire. I dropped it at the same time the hose seemed to melt away from the sprayer barb and ran to a nearby stock tank then put my hand in it. Didn’t stop burning for nearly a week and using the facilities was a challenge. There to this day, a patch where the tank fell not much anything will grow.

    Stay safe. 73

  5. Way off topic , but worth mentioning.

Someone “I know” works for the Gov in DC.

Just received an email this morning stating that when you work at home , that you are working from a Gov office. As such , you are open to searches.

Maybe it is exactly what they want you to think it is. Probably not.

They want to come into your house , errr government office , and find something.

For four years this hasnt mattered. Why now all of a sudden…..?

    • I presume that you’re referring to .gov employees, or those working on a .gov project. I hope and trust you’re not just referring to anyone that works from home – either for themselves or some commercial outfit. Please clarify. Thanks.

  6. Oh yeah on the Hawaiian peppers. We had a small jar of olive oil on board with them in it. There as a new woman on board who saw us cooking with the oil only. One or two drops would be zippy for a whole pot of something. Like lip numbing with three. We didn’t see her put a slosh into a spaghetti. Oh boy. First bite was to remember.
A capsicum delight fr those who love the heat.

  7. Your consigliere may be correct. Seems that quite a few have capitulated., regarding bitcoin and digital coin in general. And several have also given up on the U.S. dollar and see it collapsing by the end of the year. Personally, I doubt that., but I do see it weakening because of our debt.
    – However, I really don’t care where bitcoin will be in two years., or five years. Does not interest me., for several reasons.
    – I do not trade in precious metals – but I watch gold and silver prices due to my collection of Krugerrands and Maple Leafs earned years ago. I was lucky enough that I didn’t have to sell them when earned, just to live.., and have managed to hang on to them all these years. Yes, I know the saying – “You can’t eat gold”., but in really hard times one Krugerrand will buy a year’s supply of butchered, and wrapped beef. So technically., yes you can.
    – One of the reasons that I have very little interest in the future of bitcoin, et al, is a very real, nagging feeling..,
    – What if Stew’s years of work/ decoding and interpretation on Nostradamus is correct? “What if” this is going to be a very bad year for the U.S. .., and the world in general?
    – “What if” the stock market does see a 60% retracement in value?
    – “What if” we do see a deep, lingering recession and due to a limited exchange of mushroom clouds, supply chains fractured and we [ along with the rest of the world.] slip into a depression?
    – A lot of “What if’s” – I agree., however, “What if” they are true., right ‘guesses’? Where would bitcoin be then? Where would physical gold be then? Where would the dollar be., then? I have no idea how to even measure, or gauge that future-look. Beyond my scope and understanding of numbers and charting.
    – So., where will bitcoin be in two years? Hell, folks, I am hoping to just make it through “this” year unscathed.
    – If there is a financial leg to stand-on this time next year., and I am still standing, then OK, I may take a look at trading digitals., but for now., planning and hoping on getting through “this year” is my goal and reality.

    .

      • ., and I didn’t even mention the possibility of the U.S. being hit with a few EMP’s – long discussion there – but where will bitcoin and all the digitals and all the electronic financials be if that occurs?
        – I am a big fan and student of tactics and strategy – with a love of phycological warfare. Ergo – If I were the enemy of the U.S. and had the means – I would absolutely pop a few emp enhanced nukes over north America. The psychological effect alone on the entire population would be incredible and devastating. A “must do” in my book.

        • …then wait a few days and do it again.

That’ll knock out any emergency back ups that were either protected or that werent knocked out from the first blast.

        • “Ergo – If I were the enemy of the U.S. and had the means – I would absolutely pop a few emp enhanced nukes over north America. The psychological effect alone on the entire population would be incredible and devastating. A “must do” in my book.”

          Absolutely!

I study tactics and strategy also, with a smattering of historical battles thrown in. I strongly suspect Forstchen’s contention, that 90% of us would die within a year from starvation, thirst, and disease (i.e. ineptitude) is correct. We would go tango uniform without the need for an antagonist to fire a single shot. We’d also take a long time to die, and suck up any stockpiled government resources (both manpower and supply stockpiles) as we were doing so. The reason the U.S. military switched from .30cal to 5.56 is because the .30 kills but the .22 maims, and is less-lethal. A dead soldier requires nothing; a wounded soldier takes four other people out of action.

        • (“I study tactics and strategy also, with a smattering of historical battles thrown in. I strongly suspect Forstchen’s contention, that 90% “)

the trouble I keep getting is I see nursery rhymes… there is a set of books.. nothing really I believe the twelve volume set is called the history of the world civilizations.. only about ten thousand pages in total.. give or take.. the internal pattern in Each failed civilization.. was… the nobelmen were given a chance to do what the people want.. Make the changes.. and the continuation of the civilization.. In each case and pattern was the mobelmen of the day thought that politics and political alignment was going to save them and the alignment would continue on..
In the farmers Diary.. the people came up to the Romanov family told them.. one after another the call to alarm… ( oh hey our generals are doing that.. a call to alarm.. and the heads of agencies have the whistleblowers.. hmm interesting.. in advertising.. the assumption is for every single complaint.. that there are ten thousand or more that feel the same way) So each head of every agency has lost the respect of their own staff..I was watching a congressional questioning of three people.. the first one.. was see no evil he will have to research it it was bubba’s responsibility to see that.. and he would get back to them.. then they asked HEAR NO EVIL.. he never heard anything it was Bubba’s responsibility he will get with Bubba and get back to them with what he heard.. Then up came SPEAK NO EVIL… he can’t say.. it was bubba’s responsibility..
the interesting thing here is in each example.. there was the call to alarm.. the chance for these to make the changes..
We look at the graphs.. almost ninety percent.. feel changes need to be made.. that tells me the only ones that don’t see it are the over indulged ten percent of the population..
We see our Generals giving a call to alarm.. heads of agencies that have lost the respect of their own staff.. nobelmen that are shirking their jobs.. seeking the political alignment.. but in history.. those choices never worked out..because the General mass of the people were seeking for a political environment that would work to ease their pains..Not make it worse..
we look at the story of let them eat cake if they don’t like what we are doing.. there to the alarm was given.. and the thought was.. WELL… what if I hide my jewels.. then when this all blows over and things get worked out.. we will still be the position we were.. historically we know what happened.. and they haven’t found it all yet.. hopefully on Oak Island.. Marie and Louis didn’t retain their status.. some built big walls and got more security.. but there again.. the Priorian guard.. it affected their families as well.. didn’t work out..
So what do we have all going on.. all of our generals are giving the call to alarm.. we are out on eight fronts now.. using up all our strategic reserves putting greater stress on the ninety percent of the people even greater.. while the ten percent do the macarena..
the heads of agencies the swore to protect and serve have lost the loyalty and respect of their co workers.. and our congressmen that can only think of the next day off and the fact finding mission to whereever they want to go on vacation..
the heads of agencies… see no evil,.. hear no evil …and speak no evil.. have their chances to make right.. regain the loyalty and respect of their very own staff..
We seen how fast BLM and Antifa swept across the USA doing billions of dollars worth of infrastructure damage.. and we seen how fast the country split in half when DC decided to go after Texas for securing their border.. then the welcome wagon cities.. NYC…we seen how fast they went on the defensive with four illegal refugees beating up two officers..
NOW.. if history follows the nursery rhymes.. and the assessments from the studies that have been made…IF… we have opened the gates to Troy and allowed in the golden horse.. filled with warriors just as they said they would do it.. for decades.. how fast would that ninety percent of the population take to flair up and go after the nobelmen in office..
with the Romanov family it didn’t take long once it happened.. in Germany the same thing.. I actually thought that Anastasia lived and came to the USA one part in the Diary said they were approached by a nanny from the palace asking them to take the youngest girl to safety.. ( probably the nannies little one since they found anastasias body ) see their own staff don’t fair very well througout history.. and historically like with the Iraq Purge.. as they were dragging the members of their government out and executing them..in the end there were a few that would stand up saying long live the bath party..
they still cleared out half of their nobelmen..
then you read the rhymes like of the three blind mice..that is where mad marry threw the nobelmen under the wheels of the bus to take the blame.. so.. we have the heads of agencies that right now just appear to be idiots that are complicit with their business model.. ( political alignment will save them ) that in a short period of time.. the complicit idiots will change to that as stupid accomplices.. its their fault that a hidden army snuck into troy.. and we all know what happened in those legends to..
We have pedo the kid.. that loves to twirk at the public and say see I can do what I want..
whats that song that comes to mind.. oh hey here it is..
          https://youtu.be/otCpCn0l4Wo?si=iqsR5TpMYkt0-CcB
oh my.. the guy in the red pants twirking sure looks like pedo the kid LOL LOL
Hur was really being good though .. see he gave the chairman the get out of jail free card.. OH MY now I am talking about a game.. so how I understood the report is .. it is obvious that he broke the law but is so disconnected from the real world that with his advanced age and confusion and the depth of the demensia.. there isn’t anyway that a jury could be found to hold him for criminal prosicution.. mentally he is unfit to stand trial… so who is going to protect the three blind mice.. or the three monkeys.. the political alliance.. their inability to see and act on the needs of the people… hold out hide their treasures so once this all blows over.. they can go to the hidden vaults and still retain their status..
build the walls.. that will protect us.. some civilizations.. the people responsible for the fall survived.. they migrated to area’s where they could continue on.. the stories of the nazi war regime sneaking out in the night to foreign lands to live out the remainder of their lives.. Canada just announced they were not going to send back one of them that had settled there.. just last week…
The biggest question is.. If the predictions are correct and the interpretations are correct of nostradamus ..Alois Irlmaier and all the other foreseers.. how this ends is similar to all the other failed civilizations.. with one big variance.. this time the weapons are so bad.. so powerful.. that when it does.. there will just be a handful of people that might survive.. and the vast majority of all the species will die off.. oh yea up above the arctic circle there are vaults of seeds and there are vaults of eggs and dna.. to clone the species all back again.. in a few thousand years.. after mankind dies off..
But what about the blind mice.. well I hope they are hitting up the chairman for some of that cash they have hidden away so when this all blows over they will continue to have the livelyhood they have now.. so that the three blind mice can at least get their families to safety.. or make plans.. like that nanny did..
          https://youtu.be/sVqXCZ_Jbpg?si=R0rHaLroZlyTqLNo
The scary part is we have to observe this.. we seen how fast the change can take.. there is a prime example on how fast it will take to go from one coast to the other.. and if speak no evil did allow and usher in a hidden army.. OMG.. I sure wouldn’t want the last name of the Chairman.. the only one that will survive the purge if it happens is the one he disowned..
          https://youtu.be/HLKbU8qWWJE?si=t__11cjtHVf-D1pM

        • What’s funny is with my preps..I put instruction sheets on how to use the equipment with each one..
now how does one find the seed vaults how does one get to them ..
and the equipment and procedures for cloning civilization again…do they have a protocol procedure list????
see the odds are ..the scientists and biologists involved won’t be around… so who is going to be the designated ..
we dumbed down our youth..who’s passing the information on..

    • Hi, George,

Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins are .999fine and considered 24Kt., while South African Krugerrands are 22Kt. and not 24Kt.

This makes a big difference in jewelry manufacturing. Makes a difference in pure gold content. 18Kt. gold jewelry contains 75% pure gold, and 14Kt. gold jewelry contains 58.5% pure gold.

      • Interesting. Both coins contain a troy ounce of gold and the Krug contains a diluent metal, so it’s bigger. Still the dealer’s buy prices(customer sell price) usually are lower for the Maple Leaf than the Krug. Probably just a matter of familiarity and liquidity. Perhaps also because the Maple is softer and easier to damage or shave.

      • N,

Jewelry pieces are like coins and it depends on how technical you want to get because there are purity tolerances there too. 14k is +/- 58.5% and with today’s precision manufacturing methods I doubt it’s ever over 58.5%.

Not shilling but https://mene.com/ offers pure 24K jewelry. (Only buy during the BF/CM sales for the closest to melt deals.)

Mene Co-Founder is Diana W. Picasso who is a grand daughter of Pablo Picasso so there could be eventual appreciation above melt value based on her name.

    • so big question.. in a real shtf scenario… or a real devastating no food crises.. famine..or a drought and no drinking water.. WHO.. buys them.. dam I am with the aztec and the Mayan Its pretty.. and makes nice necklaces etc.. but heck.. back when I did have some silver and gold.. I couldn’t find anyone that would buy it.. and then when I did they bought it at wholesale prices..

  9. “Big Government has finally capitulated … and is allowing LEGAL ownership of Bitcoin and in fact that product is so successful that they are trying to move fast to create a Government Version of that product.”

Really? Some would say the backstage at the Kabuki Theater that Big Gov never capitulated. LMAO….

  10. Note that the current short position on BTC is ~$800MM for an asset with ~$ 1.2T market cap. A Tesla melt up moment is coming IMHO. wait for it.

  11. Don’t discount the technological advances of gas stove replacements. Induction stove tops are incredible. Many top Michelin star restaurants are switching to induction because they can regulate the temperature down the exact degree. Since Top Chef offerings are mostly a science these days, having a recipe where a particular dish or sauce is perfection at let’s say at 187.5 degrees for x minutes is a revelation for the Foodie set.

More important, it saves tens of thousands of dollars in gas utility costs. Induction is only on when the pan touches the surface. Most new homes in California are being built with induction. I used to swear by gas cooking…but tried one in an two week stay at an airbnb and now I have one and like both of my Tesla’s, it’s a game changer that once you use them, the old way seems so useless and antiquated. Thermador has some of the most advanced induction selections and it’s their fastest growing category.

    • Induction cooktops Suck .

Tore ours out after 2 years of misery. Donated to Habitat for Humanity local chapter. Same lame ass excuse to offset Ure costs on the common peeps = pure bullscheisse as electric cars = fail . Hybrids winning . Keep the Coal plants burning..it’s good for Ure health, geniuses.

Reinstalled Gas Stove, runs off propane used to power Generac “whole house” Generator.

Good luck that old tangled Crap.

    • I don’t have one of the multi burner induction cooktops, but I have a single that I love. In fact I bought a second “just in case” and I haven’t used my propane stove in a couple of years.

In the Winter I cook over the fire that heats my house and in the Summer, I cook on the induction unit.

I’ve found myself getting really stingy with the propane and have calculated that I can go several years on the 400 gallons that “fills” my 500 gallon tank.

My house is powered by a solar array and a 24 volt forklift battery. On cloudy days I have a little 3,000 watt generator that I use to top off the battery when needed.

If fuel becomes on short supply, I can still get enough power from the solar array on cloudy days, so if necessary, I can turn off the inverter that powers the AC part of my home and still have lights (12 volt LEDs) and fridge and freezer (Sundanzers running on 24 volts).

When the feces enters the air circulation device and distribution systems shut down, I will have no tears to shed for city people and their “energy hog lifestyles.”

  12. 3 Diced Habanero peppers with seeds placed into a mason jar. Fill with white vinegar, cap it and let sit for at least a week, then strain mixture and put in a spray bottle.

Put the strained peppers and seeds into another mason jar and fill with vinegar … after a week, strain and put the liquid in another spray bottle.

I threw the strained peppers and seeds away after that.

What I got in the spray bottles is one hell of a pepper spray. – which is why they call it Pepper Spray and classify it as a food, not a weapon.

  13. LOL LOL Hawaiian peppers in Everclear!? Are you out of your mind? (umm… don’t answer… we know). Never had the gutz to try that. Usual local method is just to steep them in vinegar, and keep adding vinegar to the bottle as it depletes. The pepper bushes here keep producing year ’round. We pick the red ones to stuff in the vinegar bottle, and there are plenty of green ones on the bush still up and coming. But true Hawaiian chili pepper ‘water’ is much milder. Ten peppers and a couple tablespoons of vinegar in the bottle. Garlic optional. Then add a cup of water and let it steep for a few days. Some commercials throw it in a blender and pulverize everything into a rosy liquid. This is available at most local restaurants. Just a splash for your dish is quite enough for most palates without setting off the fire alarms. Everclear? OMG… serves you right! LOL!

  17. George, I’m happy to hear about your solar farm. I also have solar potential but not on your level. I have one great concern about solar panels that neither the goobermint or private industry have yet to resolve to my satisfaction. the question is, in the event of an EMP or a massive CME what happens to the panels beyond the simple lose of return flow diodes.

  18. Japan and the UK are both officially in recession, according to the old indicator of a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) falling for two consecutive quarters., as what happened to close out 2023., for the forth and six largest economies in the world.
    – .., and Yes, Japan is now the forth largest economy. They were surpassed in January by Germany.
    – – U.S.., China., Germany., Japan.

  19. The UK is “a stagnation nation” with precious few signs of a recovery. The economy overall shrank by 0.3% in the final quarter of 2023, GDP per capita fell by a staggering 0.7% / meaning the average Brit lost roughly $1,700 in purchasing power for just last year alone. Much worse than the inflation rate would show. The true measure is that per capita is now 4.2% below the cost of living. And shows very little promise of any kind of change.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/1-killed-at-least-21-people-hurt-in-shooting-near-kansas-city-chiefs-super-bowl-rally/ar-BB1iiuwU

Things a body might not notice about this incident:

The FBI told McClatchy and the Star that it “had a presence at the parade today and is providing law enforcement assistance to the Kansas City Police Department.” Officials with the Department of Homeland Security are on the ground as well.
    _____

If you check out the video of the newscaster who’s wearing that amazing sweater (or amazing newscaster who’s wearing the sweater, if you prefer) at about 1:35 in, a gal talks about two possible shooters, dressed all in black, who ran by her after one of the volleys, and were being
    pursued by police.
    _____

WHY were FBI and DHS on-scene, apparently in official capacities?

WHO were the dudes in all black?

Howcumzit so many children were shot? ISTM it’d be much easier to hit an adult standing in a crowd with a random shot than it would, to hit a 3yo…

      • Yeah. The noise on the ground is that it was a local m/l “domestic issue” that simply chose to play itself out at the parade.

Which makes perfect sense in a Midwestern redneck sort of way.

Until one notes the vast majority of persons who were shot range in age from 3-14.

Incidentally, the gal whom everyone made sure was dead, was reportedly a local KC radio personality with a big microphone…

I don’t range as far west as the KCs, not even when storm-chasing, so I haven’t been in either KCM or KCK in 20 years, but there’s just a whole bunch of “doesn’t feel quite right” about this incident…

  24. re: “The Beach of Falesá” (Church)
    feat: R. L. Stevenson

    Captain George,

Perhaps it was his famous doctor uncle and future honorary physician to King Edward VII who persuaded the tuberculosis-ailing Robert Louis Stevenson to visit the healing microclimate of Davos in the winter of 1880. The following year episodes of “Treasure Island” began appearing under the pseudonym of a certain Captain George. “X” marked the spot of the exciting search for treasure adventures around the time of the South Seas Bubble. Sometime prior to Mr. Stevenson’s emigration to remote Samoa, he actually met up by chance on an Edinburgh street with the future author of “Peter Pan” according to a 2015 article by America’s National Endowment for the Humanities. Years later Mr. Stevenson’s Samoan literary secretary, his step-daughter by his second wife, resettled back in America around Santa Barbara area not far from the future Michael Jackson Neverland Ranch. Recent years have seen the nearby influx of Royal children such as the Duke and Duchess seeming never to grow up.

One of the interesting press releases on the pair’s current foray to Canada announces a new podcast series on an up and coming platform named after lemonade. It brings tears to the eyes to read that now that the single podcast release on the last platform was spectacularly successful. To the extent of which the Royally relieved platform has allegedly commissioned an in-house comic to launch a brand new comedy podcast entitled “The F****** Grifters”.

However a butterfly’s wing flaps oceans away shines a few rays of light on the search for buried golden pandas which are legal tender in China. The podcast deal worth a king’s ransom was negotiated by one of the largest talent agencies in the world headquartered in Beverly Hills. The world’s sometimes richest man who shall be described as “X” was on the board briefly earlier in the decade. Curiously a large parent shareholder might be a Chinese holding company sporting a colossal headquarters tower complex on the Mainland just outside the borders of Hong Kong. From there corporate genealogy along with a cape of good hope takes one to Capetown and the largest media conglomerate outside the USA founded by disenchanted Africaaners in 1915. It’s currently led by an Africaaner billionaire and a very intelligent Black woman from Soweto who caught the eye of the WEF early in her academic career. Apparently efforts are ongoing to secure the proverbial Chinese egg shareholder value from the golden goose without killing the bird.

Hopefully Tinker Bell won’t be blown off course if…uhoh…

    “…Wendy, I’m hooome!!! …”

  25. Scott Adams: I finally figured out what’s wrong with “everything.”

“It’s a system problem. The introduction of Trump into the system(s) broke almost everything, and in multiple ways.

The fake news created a White Supremacist hysteria, which led to the Fine People Hoax and the George Floyd Hoax, which led to massive DEI, which led to massive systemic incompetence in all of our systems at once.

Add wokeness and cancelation and we can’t discuss the issue, much less fix it. That’s a system problem. The corrective mechanism (free speech) has been removed.”
