Welcome to Fed Day and the afternoon adventure of “How High Will They go?”  As we collapse down into the Second Depression (our use of the term ought to be obvious within a year) we spot and tell you how to fix two of America’s dumbest decisions.  This won’t be painful, except if you find yourself feeling the pain of saying “How could we have been so stupid?”

The answer – sadly – is that last sentence is not in past tense just yet.  We are still being stupid with more being served up daily.

The fix is easy – but it will involve going back to a time in America most have forgotten about.  A time when everything was the Mission. A quantum leap from today’s self-aggrandizement festivals on the social media platforms screaming “Me! Me! Me!” 24/7.

Fortunately, some relief as we look at stock prices in our charts and compare things now with what was – once upon a time – long ago.

      • Bank failures are staged events. Typically the busted bank is resold or merged before a public announcement is made. Some banks are open for short hours or have drive-through access open on Saturdays. If you are going to move in and actually shut down depositor access, you would probably want to do it when you don’t have a lobby full of irate depositors.
        Major bank failures are rare.

  2. Well, in my background, you are dead on.

    When I was engaged with BP on a big project almost 20 years back, I thought I was going to add a client for a string of projects. As it turned out, in order to get an actual check cut, I had to go to a BP official, which required me waiting for 2-3 hours to get something stamped. Then I had to take stamped document to a 3rd party outfit to get it entered into the “new project management system”.

    Long story shortened – it took me 3 trips to BP campus to get my invoice certified and in the system and get paid – and then they were only paying invoices over 60 days old. So, I just quit going to meetings and stopped returning calls, since my contract had ZERO deliverables included.

    Stayed away from Shell for similar reasons.

    Hypercomplexity invaded everything – I don’t see that going away quite yet…

      The FBI has created hundreds of fake “right-wing extremist” unsociable media accounts and websites. I originally thought this was to suck in potential nutjobs (a la “Innocent Angels”*) but it seems it is being done to justify the political narrative that the biggest danger to the United States is “White, right-wing extremists,” by providing DHS with “White, right-wing extremist” websites to use as reference when requesting increases in budgets and police powers.

      BTW, our government has taken the liberty of defining what is “right wing” AND what is “extremist.” For instance, they define neonazis, skinheads, and KKK members as “right-wing.” Please, anyone, show me any form of “right-wingism” which either favors or is supported by the political structure of an omnipotent central authority.

      You can’t.

      Therefore, while neonazis, skinheads, and KKK members are most-assuredly supremicist (or at least, “targeted hate” groups), none are “right-wing.” The neonazis hate Jews, the skinheads hate Blacks, the Klan hates Jews AND Blacks (and Catholics.) They all ascribe to [what is obviously] a “left-wing” social and political ideology. THIS is why George Soros funded both the neonazis and ANTIFA, the skinheads and BLM, even at the same events. They were all too stupid to know they were all on the same side. Soros is not stupid.

      * “Innocent Angels” was an anti-pedo, anti-KP op run by the FBI in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Operation was successful in snaring nearly 30,000 people per year over a 10 year period. One of the things I learned, while my group was (unsuccessfully) trying to write a piece of software to support IA, was that (during this time) roughly 95% of all kiddieporn websites, worldwide, were owned by the U.S.Government and run by the FBI.

      It was a lesson, and not one lost on myself, or later the EFF…

      NEVER assume things are what they’re said to be, unless you yourself are both the source for, and the observer of the result of the data.

      Then de-regulation..fuel almost doubled over night.. coming home gas was 67.9 nothing special 3 dollars an hour income.. a week before it was 49.9 .. so I decided to wait till the next morning.. watching TV and eating supper the president was on saying he deregulated fuel..the next morning.. it was 109.9.. and hasn’t come down since.. after a short time the same thing happened with car insurance and house insurance products started to go up.. industry left with the nafta treaty..and mom had to go to work.. Reagan seen that trickle down was not trickling down so he gave rebates a nd started backing out banks borrowing more money to keep the usa working..we went from what 2percent being on social programs to 78 percent.. with daycare assistance the cost of daycare for my grand daughter is 2300.00 a month and that is with federal assistance..food 4.75 per meal 1.10 per snack 3 snacks a day..for us it’s a couple grand and prices are going up..
      The people know..they are just dependent on the federal Gov’t to survive..you don’t soil the bed your lying in..

      • I’ve just about finished Kelton’s “The Time it Never Rained” and his account of farm and ranch subsidies that he’s woven into the story says exactly that – when the government pays for something the price goes up accordingly, the markets cease to function within reason and eventually everyone goes out of business. That and running a line of credit at the bank that eventually swallows you. The story was set in the 50s when we had the 6 to 7 year drought here in Texas so, in truth, there’s nothing new under the Sun.

        the biggest show of this happened after the supreme courts saying that it was ok for those in politics to gain from donations from pack.. “It was argued in 2009 and decided in 2010. The court held 5-4 that the free speech clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for political campaigns by corporations, including nonprofit corporations, labor unions, and other associations.”
        Once pandora’s box was opened.. That is when I think that it all went down hill in a hurry from that point on.. before that some was happening.. but I believe that it was under the table stuff..

        This is why I harp on the fact that “capitalism” is a term Karl Marx invented, to help explain “communism.”

        Our economic system was designed to be a laissez faire free market, free enterprise system. “Capitalism” is a bastardization of the above, created by injecting government into the equation and replacing laissez faire, over time, with a system of pure corporatism, where government, not the free market, gets to choose the winners & losers. When government chooses its winners, they are ALWAYS the entities which can best “feed the beast.” Under such an arrangement, eventually, Con-Agra wins — you lose.

        …While you can. It has become incredibly difficult, finding an English language translation of Zweitbuch in book form. Amazon delisted it several years ago. Abe delisted it also, but it can be found on their website, if one knows how to look. I acquired a fresh copy a couple months back, from a rare book seller in the UK — gonna try to get my kids to read it and see the future.

        Once you do so, not from Adolf’s eyes, but from his mind, the world around us will make more sense — and scare the hell out of you…

If they had let things ride and let the markets determine what was best to raise and grow things would have eventually smoothed out over time and fewer people would have lost their farms and ranches. Hard times, sure, but the FREE Market would have brought things in line with profitability. We dropped sheep like a hot potato and went strictly goats for a long time until the wife talked me into buying some Angus. The wool incentive program was discontinued which made it more expensive to sheer the sheep than what the wool brought but we’d lose our Rambouillet sheep if we didn’t in the Summer Sun. Mutton lambs didn’t bring enough to make up the difference either even crossing them with the heavier Suffolk so goats came into the picture and have been making ranches profitable ever since the mid-2000s. It’s all due to the “Ethnic Market” so LEGAL immigrants are helping things in that area.

        It’s difficult to determine how much of the price of feed today is determined by transportation costs and how much is due to sucking up the subsidies that are offered to the agriculture industry but I’ve watched essential food and minerals go up 17% and more since last year alone – and then there’s fuels and materials. And you know not to get me started about taxes! It’s not as heavy handed as it was in the Depression and beyond when government agents were taking over ranchers’ herds in the Hill Country area and further West, killing the cattle and throwing the carcasses down old mine shafts the Spaniards had made long ago or bull dozing a hole and covering them up to thin the herds and drive up prices. The ranchers eventually threatened to put the agents in the same holes if they didn’t go back to where they came from and that stopped it. This is what happens every time people look to the government and say “DO something!”.

      Ask any hospital or doctors insurance department.. long term disability insurance is a joke.. if it’s something serious..if you beak a bone or something minor no problems.. but if it’s serious .. oh my we quit taking claims at noon yours was received at 12.15 please resubmit…lol lol
      You had to have the state board of insurance send them a claim fax them a claim and mail them a claim certified and one snail mail. Don’t waste your money on it..
      Ask anyone that’s insured and has a home destroyed in a catastrophic storm like Katrina..same thing..biggest waste of money..it’s not in the business model to pay out.

      • I’ve never trusted insurance – ever since l found that it would cost more in legal fees to collect on a damaged house that the company would pay out. It took a lawyer to even have a different insurance company handle a slip and fall event. I worked a contract for one, and read their manual. If the insured is famous, then pay off instantly. If not, then pay as little and as late as possible.

        I carry insurance on my cars because it’s not worth the hassle if I’m uninsured, but I consider it a required waste of money.

      Back in the 80’s there was a joke memo going around allegedly from headquarters explaining that employees were dying on the job but not falling over, and this was causing problems for HR and others.   9. G2 is right… I was one that took care of many of the scarier viruses and bacterial diseases.. had friends pass because they didn’t wash good enough or not wear gloves and pass on from them.
    On five floors there was three of us to take care of the sicker ones. No one wanted to do it..
    I had just gotten my ACLS certificate.. was my first night and there was a code on another wing got there and everyone left saying you have more experience lol..the guy lived but I was lucky..

  10. Just a heads up for folks with kids in school. – parents are getting (emails) from the school telling them of surveys and other things they wish the children to participate in. (Sounds a sweetly worded) but they need parental consent for the child to participate. So you just simple “don’t reply” to said email and the school will accept that as Parental Authorization for your child to participate.

    If you wish to opt out, you have to (find the form) fill it out and sign it.

    This is wrong on all kinds of levels.

    It’s way too complex. The people who would do the fix are being too well-paid (off), so, THEY’RE not gonna fix it. (Everybody loves his own dog.) The governed have no power and are not listened to — at BEST they are “handled” with a convincing simulation of a response, and are thus side-tracked and neutralized. (The Experts don’t need your stupid advice: they KNOW what’s best for you — for everyone — now STFU and just do what you’re told.)

    Because of the location what would one expect? Well any reasonable person from elsewhere would expect it to turn into a “Virtue Signaling” shit storm of epic proportions!!

    A project where the leadership, which of course is Pac NW based and oriented in thought, being MORE concerned about Virtue Signaling than actually getting “The Mission” accomplished is what one would expect. Makes one wonder how they ever get an airplane built up there!! (no wonder Boeing built it’s NEW manufacturing plants OUT of the Pac NW and “tried” to get it’s corporate HQ out of there too – unfortunately for them they chose Chicago which isn’t much better … and that Amazon has been working to get it’s Pac NW HQ location reduced in importance, big time reduced in importance)

    In “fly over country” BIG projects are getting built ON TIME and ON BUDGET on a regular basis. This ranges from lowly Mississippi, to Georgia, to Tennessee, to Ohio, to Indiana, and yes EVEN TO MICHIGAN!! to say nothing of Texas.

    ON TIME and ON BUDGET happens with big projects in fly over country … on the other hand the Pac NW, in fact the entire West Coast from the Canadian border to the Mexican border, is LA LA Land when it comes to doing stuff on time and on budget

    Ever notice the high speed rail that California voted in favor of a number of years ago is now only about 15% built and they have spent nearly 10 TIMES the TOTAL expected cost for the entire project? … also look at what the replacement Bay Bridge over to San Francisco cost: took 3x longer than planned and 6x – 8x the original budgeted cost. West Coast WOKENESS to the extreme at work AGAIN)

    Good luck to G2. Health IS the most important thing to manage when managing your life. If you keep your health you can recover from just about any set back. Tell him to keep that in mind as he contiues to work.

      The PNW was so beautiful when I moved here 52 yrs. ago and was under Republican jurisdiction.   15. We celebrate narcissm and demonize the ordinary people who make our existence possible. Until we crash and burn to the last high-roller, don’t expect the lessons of the previous depressions to be remembered.
    I have no reason to believe that the 24th of this month will be the day it all starts, but one morning reality will prevail over aggregate self-delusion, and it will be very bad. One of scenarios that runs through my head on bad days is that of a multi-month bank holiday. Think it through.

  16. Much of what is happening today, here in the USA, and globally, has been in the planning stages for decades. Aaron Russo, via his friendship with Nicky Rockefeller, warned us of this before his somewhat untimely passing. Russo was told, 11 months before it happened, about 9/11, it’s purpose and goals and the aftermath. He was also told that the ultimate goal of the globalists is to have us all chipped and under total control. Seems since the covid scam, which proved the gullibility and subservience of the masses, everything is getting more and more ramped up. It’s not stupid planning, but part of “the plan”, bringing us all (those of us left) to our knees. Still hoping “they” ultimately fail, but in the meantime, seems pretty clear that we will be brought to our knees, while we fight amongst ourselves instead of against the real culprits. Hmm what the studies that have been done all say @Out of work Steve. and there are a couple of these thousand page studies that no one there reads is.. that 98% will be gone.. out of eight billion.. 240 million would survive all around the world.. so.. my assumption is that NO ONE WINS..if you don’t have the skills and are one of the lucky ones.. then it will be Naked and afraid for all of those that survive.. learn how to make stone tools.. how to make a moccasin or catch game.. another world.. no jumping in the ole buggy and cruising .. what isn’t killed off by the weapons will be by the weather..
      I believe that at first.. there will be resources available.. but without the knowelede on how to replace repair or make..the luxuries we know and take advantage .. I still remember beating grain gathered off the ground with an iron pan and a rock got both yet to) it will all fade away.. believe it or not.. the places to seek knoweledge of how they survived is North Korea and Cuba.. we isolated them.. NK and their advancements in hydroponics.. cuba on how to rebuild and modify using parts available..

    • This is true — Russia cannot “win” a nuclear war.

      But they CAN “not lose” such a war.

      Russia, based on land mass, is the largest country in the world. It had a population [the last time I looked] of 122 million. It has fallout shelters which will accommodate 140 million people, for a year. It has millions of square miles of territory which would be left untouched in an unlimited war.

      WE have fallout shelters which will accommodate 740 thousand people for 10 years and have no vast swaths of land which would go untouched by radiation.

      In an unlimited war, unless you’re living in the Congo or along the Amazon River Basin, life is gonna suck. However, it will such much harder in North America than it will in Siberia…

Bought two put options when the market was up 150.., sold ’em when the market dumped.., then bought two call options as the market stalled.., sold when the market was back up 160., then bought two puts and just sold ’em when the market tanked again down over 225. Right back to my day-trading days. Still mentally hyped a bit. That’s it for me this week though.

    This, on the other hand, might actually be really bad news. There is no firm indication how the ChiComs would conduct a “war of aggression” because once past their Civil War, the ChiComs typically engaged in reactionary, not “actionary” conflict. If they take clues from past Chinese cultures though, a “dialing down” of blather and war-talk might well engender relaxation on the part of the Taiwanese, thus creating a window in which an assault would have an elevated chance of success.

  26. It amazes me that some people still believe the government’s version of 9/11. Within two weeks of the event, enough reports came out, even from mainstream media, that made it fairly obvious that it had been an inside job perpetrated by the Cheney gang and a country that I’ll leave unnamed (not Saudi Arabia). Later, the research of engineers and architects demolished the government’s lies. The ignorance regarding 9/11 appears to be a prelude to the ignorance regarding CV-19 and the vax.

    • I suspect, and have for a very long time, that both elements of the Saudi’s and the unnamed country were in collusion with an element inside the US government to let it or make it happen. Building 7 has video showing it falling according to classical implosion/demolition techniques. The towers used a different method, but the videos have many tell-tales. I’ve never seen building structural collapses fall so well within their own footprint, and even more-so for such tall buildings. I’d say that the responsibility is on those claiming that the buildings were collapsed by airplanes and subsequent fires to provide convincing evidence of that cause, and then to explain how metal from this “collapse” can remain molten for months! Had I known more at the time of the event, I’d have brought a geiger counter when I went downtown! What was obvious is how well coordinated the debris removal and security operations were within 24 hours of the incident. That’s not a normal reaction to a black-swan event!

    There is a high school in Ontario, Canada where a male teacher cross dresses showing very large mammary glands. The school cannot fire him/her and the students cannot make negative comments or be penalized. In my day if a male teacher came to class (especially shop class) dressed like this, he would have very quickly been nicknamed “watermelon man” by the boys while they rolled on the floor in peals of laughter.

    • Obviously they all need to be removed! Why would any real American want that? Legal aliens can get the right to vote by becoming American citizens. It usually takes five years minimum, but under some circumstances it can be done in three, or even one year, providing, of course, that you can prove yourself to be of good character, support yourself, and have no serious crimes in your record.

      I thought doing such a ridiculous thing as allowing aliens to vote would require a constitutional amendment.

      • I don’t think anyone other than the conservative “R’s” are following the rules of the Constitution – and losing miserably against those that recognize no rules to follow.

      • The Founders assumed that our Government would be moral. Because of that, our “system of corrections” is reactive — not proactive. No matter what the Constitution dictates, a Constitutional directive or limitation must be broken or exceeded, then challenged in an honest court, before the breakage can be repaired.

        This is why John Adams said:

        “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

        …and also why there is no Constitutional provision for a Presidential Election that’s been unfairly or illegally gamed. Trump had every right to challenge or appeal to States, or to certain States’ Election Delegates, but no legal grounds to challenge Biden, once the count was made official, because a provision to cover cheating in an election is wholly beyond the scope of the Constitution.

        To extrapolate Adams’ statement: Unless we regain morality and the precepts of an organized, but generic, Judaeo-Christian religion, our government is doomed to fail, and our system to degrade into a feudal, totalitarianist empire.
