Top Call? Jobs Confessional, August is Easy, Weekend Wishing Well

On our Subscriber’s-Only side, Peoplenomics.com, the Wednesday column began like this:

Let’s Play “Top Calling!”

Sure – and why not?  We can say with mathematical certainty that we will eventually be right.  Just maybe not today.

But that won’t stop us, no sir.  Plates are moving out West, Putin’s still warring, so are we, and besides, the Fed FOMC decision is this afternoon – so what the hell, right?”

Which matters to markets (which knows better): as  Trump hits dozens more countries with steep tariffs | Reuters.

Fast-forward to the overnights (ahead of the Jobs confessional) and here’s the updated data trace with our pre-open comments from Wednesday intact:

Keep in mind, this is all based on our unique Aggregate Index view.  Because the financial engineers play Three Index Monte (Dow, S&P, and Techs) all the time.  We were driven to invest differently when – following the Tech Wreck in 2000 – the financial shills didn’t say anything about investor wealth trauma and  bait-and-switched into selling non-tech.  Until the (oh, so convenient) 9/11 came along.  And that meant an instant hiring spree (at places like TSA) to bail out the economy and wear that moralistic Cloak of Righteousness.  (Check with Gazans on how that rolls…)

About here, you may feel dazed and begin wondering “What’s NEXT with these clowns?

August is Easy

“August is Easy” (c) 2025 UrbanSurvival.com

But, not too.

As we had been explaining, Jay Powell’s FOMC did the reasonable thing:  Holding back on a rate cut (despite the Ballroom Builder in Chief’s grand designs).

The BUES Big Ugly Economic Secret) is that 99 percent of people in America are swindled into thinking that hard work will result in making more money.  Which is nominally True.

Thing is, though, as you make more money, or so you think, the amount of money in circulation is jacked up.  The Central Bankers collect interest on it, too. Which is how they build their new headquarters.

You step onto the Economic Elevator in your 20s, hit the button for the 28th-floor penthouse, and work your ass off for 40 years—feeding the Elevator Maintenance Fund as you go. Retirement comes… ding… doors open—and you’ve risen 18 inches. WTF, right?

It’s  clever as hell, really.  And the only way to “beat the Game” is to buy high-demand assets that capture the inflation spread over TIME.

Readers will remember when we sailed out of SF Bay and turned south in late 2001 (post 9/11) we loaded the boat (figuratively) with precious metals.  Then, when the HR grenades went off in my Gold Partner sales gig, we bought acres in highly sustainable East Texas.

No, we’re not geniuses, but we’re also lazy-enough to figure out the game. In the Continuous Inflation Model of (business-owned, nominally labeled) Constitutional Republics, buying when the “blood is running in the streets” is the shortest Lyft to Boardwalk.

Which zips to this morning’s bottom line:  Musical Chairs comes to a screeching halt, now and then.  Call ’em Recessions, Corrections, Crashes, Depressions – all just a matter of degree.  To these old eyes, a false flag, war expansions, a new biothreat, or a fresh “aliens are coming” meme, are exactly the kind of bait-and-switches that can keep you in the game and playing longer.

The Monthly Jobs Confessional

The financial shill channels — which don’t explain anything, except how the craps game out back is minting billionaires hourly — may not remind you (so we will):  There is Establishment Data on employment.  And there is Household Data.  The Establishment Data is the talking point. The Household Data is the experiential (stick in the eye) part.

Enough of the foreplay though.  Let’s throw in with The Establishment.

Total nonfarm payroll employment changed little in July (+73,000) and has shown little change since April, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported today. The unemployment rate, at 4.2 percent, also changed little in July. Employment continued to trend up in health care and in social assistance. Federal government continued to lose jobs.”

Realists, seeing the database (and households) instead see this:

Household down 260,000, is it?  While the other says “Nothing to see here?”

Want the math? Or is reality already hitting too hard?

Around the Ranch: Weekend Wish Well

Toss a penny, close your eyes — and wish for no black swans, dead air, or power grid failures. Welcome to your weekend briefing: light weather recon, cultural distractions, and a few caution flags for the road ahead. Let’s dip the bucket.

You can toss a penny, too.  I lost her phone number.

Weathering:

  • Pacific Northwest: Mild and misty, highs in the 70s. Great for hiking, bad for solar panels. Bitch, bitch, bitch… shut up and watch the hydro races.  Seafair Weekend Festival 2025 – Seafair  Shoot-out between the Miss Beacon Electric and the Miss Apollo is expected.   We’re surprised the City muthas haven’t called the race for overt gender insensitivity which is what socialist city government….oh, don’t start me….I’m the guy who was pushing for a rehab outfit to field something against Miss Budweiser back in the day…it’s the  (Stan Sayres) pits in Seattle this weekend….

  • California:

    • NorCal: Fire watches in some dry inland valleys, otherwise upper 80s.

    • SoCal: Coastal fog in the mornings, sunny by lunch, highs in the 80s. Fog is also common in Sacramentia year-round.

  • Southwest (AZ/NM): Monsoon pop-ups in the afternoons — flash flood alerts if you’re road-tripping. Stay high and dry. Golf on coals, elsewhere.

  • Texas and Gulf Coast: Heat dome still cooking. Triple digits possible across Central Texas. Gulf humidity? 110% sarcasm. 110F feels like temps here. Mowing at sunrise, beer breakfast OK after – if you trimmed, too…

  • Midwest: Warm, with scattered t-storms. Iowa and Illinois fair to partly angry. Ear open for NOAA alerts.

  • Northeast Corridor: Highs in the 80s, but weekend humidity creeps back in. You’ll stick to your car seat by Sunday.

  • Southeast: Tropical moisture spinning up from the Atlantic. No named storms, but keep an eye south of Bermuda out east of the D.R.

  • Rockies: Cool nights, warm days. If you’ve got a tent and good knees, now’s your weekend. Campfire caution.

  • Alaska & Hawaii:

    • AK: Rainy in Juneau, mild in Anchorage.

    • HI: Beautiful. Again. You’re welcome. Prophecy sites buzz about potential for an even bigger quake more Japan-centric.  Pay them no mind. (Unless they’re right!)

Farmer’s Almanac Vibe: If you haven’t picked tomatoes or peppers this week, do it before they cook on the vine.

That’s Entertainment!

In Theaters (Aug 2)

  • “Silo Run” (Sci-Fi Thriller) – Think Mad Max meets Children of Men. Grain storage meets government collapse. Surprisingly good reviews from real preppers.  Bring your own surplus ICBMs for full effect.
  • Redemption Ride” (Drama) – Horse movie, PTSD, and long desert roads. For the emotional stoics and nags.
  • “Killer App” (Tech Horror) – AI becomes self-aware after being trained on Reddit comments. You can imagine the bloodbath. Sort of like a new Windows release – with popcorn and a happy ending.

Streaming Picks?  Netflix:

  • “Echelon” (Season 2) – Spying, backstabbing, and predictive algorithms. You know, Wednesday.
  • Prime Video:
  • “The Bugout Years” – A fictional reality show about collapse preppers. You’ll laugh. Then recheck your ammo count and water storage.
  • Disney+: “Astro-Park” – Think Space Mountain turned into a narrative. Family-friendly, but your inner kid will dig it. Watch PornHub for a coming sequel: Astro-Gilder… (“They’re coming for you in the end?”)

The Weak Ahead

  • Fed Fallout: Market still digesting Powell’s decision to sit on rates like a hen on glass eggs. We did call a top Wednesday, remember?
  • Tariff Ratchet Watch: Biden (who?) and Trump camps both posturing for tariff leverage. Global freight rates already hinting at pressure. “Jail Hillary” pre-runs are building.
  • Israel/Iran Watch: It’s Friday. Things like to flare after prayers. Geiger Gospel readings soon.
  • Ukraine: No dramatic breakthroughs, but drone attacks continue inching into Russian interior. Russia’s not likely to wait for NATO’s first move late month…
  • China: Housing sector looking worse by the week. Keep your eye on Evergrande’s zombie offspring. If U.S. sales falter, Xi will eye Taiwan to re-unify nationalist vibes.
  • Market Mood: Everyone’s waiting for the jobs data to be revised again after Monday’s damage is done. Sunday night futures will likely peg odds of a Turnaround Tuesday.

Personal

  • 45-Days out from Q3 IRS Estimated Quarterly filings – plan monthly cash flow now.
  • Bread, milk, and booze on the shopping list?  Sativa where legal?
  • Low Vision Home and Workshop options on ShopTalk Sunday this week.

And on that cheerful note, let’s see how the short side plays work out today, shall we?

  1. Yo G -Urebansurvival,

A real eye opener has been “viewed”, reported, debriefed, compiled for OUR viewing pleasure over at Farsight Prime (farsight.net).

A very real Eye Opener. Folks got an open mind ?

Not so open as to have Ure scheisse fall out, but open enough to look at and consider opposing points of views/viewpoints/ideas ?

Whats a matta, afraid to sharpen Ure “steel” ?

    Folks,
Regrettably cutoff had already dropped at this august publication prior to a possible late night ghostly reprise of The Doors at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater. Former vp Mrs. Harris won a coveted guest spot on the recently chopped ‘Late Show’ with Stephen Colbert.

Mrs. Harris is running for neither the ’26 governorship nor the ’28 presidency because the “system is broken”. However she will apparently travel the nation seeking thoughts of citizenry.

There hasn’t been a broken record at the DJ George studio since the early Floyd release of “Careful with that Axe, Eugene”. Let’s join everyone’s favorite deejay ready to thread the stylus needle on a ditty off that classic Doors album “Strange Days” –
    “You’re Lost Little Girl”.

    • “Mrs. Harris is running for neither the ’26 governorship nor the ’28 presidency because the “system is broken.”

      Lesson in U.S. politics:

Kammy is not running for Governor in 2026, however, she is most-certainly running for Prez in 2028. She will wait to see if the DNC will beg her, but eventually she will announce her candidacy (to save the ________ (nation, children, aliens, or whatever…)

First of all, she’s going to stump for the “book” she’s “writing” (How’d you like to be the ghost writer for this thing?) Its functions are to keep her name in front of the voters, and whitewash her political record.

This “book” would normally sell between 300k and 420k copies and hit #1 on everybody’s “bestseller list.” The vast majority of the purchases would be made by agents for George Soros and the DNC, and funded principally with our tax dollars through USAID (with profits going to her election campaign.) Unfortunately, Kammy has the largest urethra of any creature on the planet, which she demonstrated by comfortably pissing away $100mln per week for months. In doing so, she frothed the DNC. Meanwhile, that mean old Donald Trump and Elon Musk eviscerated the Leftists’ principal slush-funding source (USAID). I still think Kammy’s book will sell and will hit #1, but it will be from a Dem-donor fund.

Second of all, she’s (by more then double) the favorite candidate of the currently-polled Dems.

Third, Americans don’t like to take a step down on the success ladder. She has achieved the rung of “Vice President,” therefore the only jobs she can allow herself to take are VP, Prez, or USSC.

Finally (for brevity’s sake), our Democratic Party is on a course of self-destruction. They will “come around” and support Kammy as long as she is a viable candidate (as determined by their polling, not reality.) That they didn’t learn from the Election of Trump47 isn’t surprising, but Trump has built an incredible groundswell of support, and he’s done it by jumping on a bunch of items and projects which are very-strongly supported by the majority of us. The Dems have categorically supported the opposite of every one of Trump’s proposals or planks. In so doing, they have forced themselves to hate everything that’s good, right, proper, or sane, and to go to extraordinary lengths to attempt to justify their stances. This is why the Democratic Party holds favor with around 30% of U.S. Citizens, and Dem politicians are hovering around 17% popularity.

I just found out this the other day…. certain stores in Canada offer LSD 25 Blotter Tabs @ $7.00 ea. qty. 100. Each tab contains 155µg (micrograms) of active ingredient.

A Canadian dosage chart looks like:

    Dosage –

Mild experience – Half tab (~80µg)
Medium experience – One tab (155µg)
Intense experience – One and a half tabs (~240µg)

$10.50 to trip balls. Now that’s value entertainment and almost worth the drive.

the truth is out there for the curious.

        • You are starting to really piss me off. 1) Sherry?Xue?Li is a naturalized U.S. citizen, not a foreign national.

Lie: GU was offended that the news reported these foreign nationals made $600,000 in campaign donations” They are not foreign nationals. Jesus.

      • sorry you feel that way GU. can you please lmk what you feel is libelous so I wont do it again? yeah, so i screwed up the two convicts are not foreign nationals. the rest as far as i can tell is truth.

        • I’m afraid it’s habitual. You just wrote ” the two convicts are not foreign nationals” No – they are not convicts until they have a) had their day in court and b) been found guilty and then c) have exhausted appeals and begun to serve time,. THEN they are “convicts.” today they are “the accused” – hope this helps

        • i definitely sense some bias here on your part. not sure why you’re defending these two so mightily. i remember our conversation when i pointed out that for an immigrant to overstay isn’t an illegal act, it’s civil, but yet you call them illegals. seems dissonant to me. her co conspirator has already been sentenced to five years. he probably turned state’s evidence on Ms. Li in order to get a lighter sentence. She’s facing 20 years. There will be no appeal, nope, not with plea agreements. They were convicted. They are convicts. It will forever show in their criminal history.

“In 2024, Wang pleaded guilty to engaging in unlawful monetary transactions and conspiracy to defraud the United States, and was sentenced to 60 months’ imprisonment.”
          https://www.irs.gov/compliance/criminal-investigation/oyster-bay-resident-pleads-guilty-to-30-million-investment-fraud-scheme-and-selling-foreign-nationals-access-to-prominent-us-politicians

this is a really big deal. i still want to know who the unnamed congressperson is and whether all of the pols involved are allowed to keep the foreign donations or had to return them. i don’t care whether the suffix is (D) or (R).

from the same link “For example, as alleged in the complaint, Li and Wang charged 12 foreign nationals $93,000 per person for admission to a June 28, 2017, fundraising event (the June 28, 2017, Fundraiser) with the then-President of the United States. Li and Wang used the funds that they collected from the foreign nationals to unlawfully make $600,000 in political contributions in their own names—$270,500 from Li and $329,500 from Wang—to the joint fundraising committee hosting the June 28, 2017, Fundraiser. At the time they made these contributions, they were the largest contributors to the joint fundraising committee, which was unaware of the charged schemes. Li, Wang, and their foreign national guests attended the June 28, 2017, Fundraiser and took photographs with the then-President of the United States. Li and Wang later used a photograph of Li and the President taken at the June 28, 2017, Fundraiser to solicit investments in the TEC Project.”

again, i appreciate your response. disagreeing doesn’t make me a troll or libelous. i’m one of the few posters who tries to be factual and post legitimate links.

        • I dont have all day to lecture on communications law. However 1. Illegal entry is a crime (criminal law) making perps illegals

          Under 8 U.S. Code § 1325, it is a misdemeanor crime to:

Enter the U.S. without inspection (i.e., crossing the border unlawfully),

          Elude immigration officers,

Enter using fraud or false pretenses.

So yes — unlawful entry is a criminal offense on the first offense (misdemeanor), and it can become a felony for repeated offenses or under certain conditions.
          2. Overstaying a visa is a civil violation

People who enter legally (e.g., with a visa) but stay past their authorized time are not committing a criminal act.

That’s handled under civil immigration law, not criminal law.

          3. Terminology: “Illegal alien” vs “undocumented immigrant”

The term “illegal alien” has legal standing (used in U.S. Code and past court rulings).

“Undocumented immigrant” is more politically neutral but is not a legal term.

Critics of “illegal immigrant” say “no person is illegal”, while others maintain that “illegal” refers to the act, not the person’s existence.

          Summary:
Situation Civil or Criminal? Common Term
Crossing border without inspection Criminal (misdemeanor) Illegal entry
Re-entering after removal Criminal (felony) Illegal re-entry
          Overstaying visa Civil Visa overstay
So yes, crossing the border without permission is illegal — it’s a criminal violation. You’re right to say they become “illegal” in a legal sense, but not all immigration violations are criminal.\

However, with the law school own on: “do immigration lawyers get vias for illegals in order to attempt to migrat their illegal behavior into civil side?
          Ai stack says

Yes — that’s exactly one of the legal strategies immigration attorneys often use. Here’s how and why:
? Goal: Shift from Criminal to Civil Jurisdiction

Attorneys try to “migrate” an undocumented person’s legal situation from the criminal domain (where they may face jail or removal) into the civil or administrative side (where they may qualify for relief or be allowed to stay).
?? Common Legal Tools & Tactics Used:
          1. Asylum or Refugee Claims

Even if someone entered illegally, if they immediately claim asylum, they trigger civil proceedings under U.S. asylum law.

This can pause removal and shift the case into immigration court (a civil court).

          2. Adjustment of Status (e.g., Marriage, Family, Employment)

If someone becomes eligible for a green card through marriage, employment, or family sponsorship, a lawyer may apply for a change of status to legal resident.

This reframes their presence as a fixable civil violation rather than a deportable crime.

          3. U Visa, T Visa, or VAWA Protections

Victims of crime (U visa), human trafficking (T visa), or domestic abuse (VAWA) may be granted legal status — even if they entered illegally.

          4. DACA or Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

These are temporary legal protections offered through executive action.

Lawyers use them to shield clients from deportation and bring them into a semi-legal status that might lead to permanent residency down the road.

?? Important Caveat: The Crime Still Happened

Entering illegally is still a violation of U.S. criminal law, even if you later get a visa or protection.

What the lawyer is doing is not erasing the crime — they’re arguing for relief, discretion, or an exception to allow a legal path forward.

          ? Summary:

Yes — immigration lawyers routinely seek visas, asylum, or special status to shift a person’s case into the civil side of the law. This strategy doesn’t deny the illegal act occurred; it instead focuses on legal remedies, humanitarian relief, or procedural protections to keep the person from being deported or criminally punished.

This is legal maneuvering — not unlike a tax lawyer using loopholes or deductions. It’s lawfare, but within the rules.

Until the matter is in civil side the crime (of illegal entry) has still occurred and the claim of civil process may or may not negate it.

    • Technical skipper-to-skipper – I think our VMG to Crash has turned at the windward mark we called Wed in the preople – and I think we are synched up now on the Wonderbread (toast) of Wave 5? Spinakers Monday on the downway leg and a brief gibe-oh after the knockdown, say Tues/Wed?

      • I very much believe a turn is coming George, that based on charts of every stripe. Note how air came out of the equity blowup when crypto retreated (turning into a mini-route, it being a way to risk off once 4pm hits EDT). I think it’s connected, crypto kings (and other spec players) are generating the froth, not realizing every dog has it’s day. This rally has all the hallmarks of a crest. We shall watch this together, hey? E

  9. Mr Ure,

In an effort at Full Transparancy, I must relay the the news to all, that BCP has recently been diagnosed as a FASCIST. I know, shocking right?

I can no longer live in deNile, or any other river for that matter. So I must come out of the FASCIST closet and own it.

Not only is Sydney Sweeney 27 years old. She was born on September 12, 1997.
This means not only are you NOT a fascist, but you are also NOT a pedophile!!!
In today’s insane world, this does, However, condemn you to being labled a reprobate throwback or a neanderthal.
As such (and being White and aging), tou are not able to join any class actions, so you’re out of luck on govt. paid comp for your social disability..

Liar — liar, I say. If you REALLY thought this was a problem, you would cleanse your sins with “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss” — soap made from her bath water…

In fact, if you were a real fan, (or really infatuated), you could own the first bar made:

      https://www.ebay.com/itm/177292257672

Don’t forget the COA (yes, COA, for a bar of frickin’ soap), and don’t forget to visit your local PSA office to have both Sydney’s sweetness, and the COA, authenticated.

BTW, that bar of soap sold for $8, just nine weeks ago. What kind of ROI is that…?

  10. Supergirl (TV series) now playing on Italian TV.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supergirl_(TV_series)

It seems Super woke to me.

Today’s episode features a wedding, with a white woman with short hair in a white suit, marrying a black woman with long hair, in a white wedding gown.

And just for an added affect, before the wedding, in private, the white woman’s mother tells her “I’m so proud of you!”

    What would Donna Reed say?

Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator and confidant, was moved to a federal prison in Texas, prison officials said Friday.

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in recruiting and trafficking minors for sex, was being held at a facility in Florida.

“We can confirm, Ghislaine Maxwell is in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas,” the Bureau of Prisons said in a statement.

“Perfect storm” is coming together, think nations as individual kernels of popping corn.

Planet Earth has just reached the “smoke point” .
reminds Time & Space NOT Linear.

Disclosure as/at same time as War. War will lead to displacement. This is happening all over the Galaxy. There will be displacements..From Earth AND To Earth. Begging th equestion of what Universal Imigration is going to look like. Ya know like having a couple Squid beings over for Dinner one night.

System (s) are crumbling, yet Humans still following creators of this system..Does not have to be inevitable..

? Who are the Domain ?

      * Boomer story nonesense – always on site, in the vicinity. Those old battle wagons got nothing capable of penetrating Russian air defenses, which are being redoubled as I type.

      • The Uke’s destroyed 1/3 of the R long range bombers in one session with conventional low tech buzz bombs. No country’s air defenses are impregnable.
Our military geniuses should be working on a speedy stealth surface vessel with automated mass drone launch under power. A dozen such ships launching 10,000 drones would overwhelm any and all aerial defenses.
I’m not sure I would count on expert testimony from a source who has yet to down a single flying squirrel.

        • You are now on the same page I was on, five years ago, when I said China could take down our entire Air Force with a bunch of thousand dollar drones. Propellers don’t like hitting stuff, but the fans in jets can absolutely not tolerate it. A cloud of fist-sized drones would drop an entire fighter wing in 2-3 minutes. They’re far deadlier than antiaircraft fire or even SAMs, because the pilots would never see them…

    • Trump’s internal numbers show U.S. employers have hired a tad over two million new employees, and created one million job openings for positions formerly held by illegal aliens, since he took office. I believe he’s bent because the BLS numbers don’t reflect this, but I’m not sure how they could, without the addition of new categories (like shitcanned aliens…) We still have about 34mln lardasses who refuse to work, created mostly during the Bush43 and Obama Administrations (and Trump45, during COVID), and 21mln illegals let in during the Obama and Biden Administrations, virtually none of whom are employed (not counting illegals allowed in before Bush43, many of whom ARE employed, “under the table…”) It sounds complicated, but it’s snot…
