Two Post Tuesday: the “Matters Sort” – Warm-up Coming

“Oh dear, what can the matter be?”

Well, now that you mention it – we have a rather extensive list to bubble sort before we get to the Housing numbers in a second post.  Yeah, I know – what happened to shorter columns, right?

The China Matter

For now, events of the past week are still assessing as a “run-of-the-mill” purge. The kind of thing that runs deep in communist DNA.  But communists playing at capitalism makes it even more rare.

Here’s the basic story line: The Zhang Youxia case: Why China’s top general is accused of nuclear leaks and faces Xi Jinping’s wrath | Explained.  With some additional perspective in Why China Is Arresting Its Own Generals: Inside Xi Jinping’s Military Crackdown.

OK, sort of makes sense when taken with what else China is doing: Namely, buffing up their “big kid on the block” in Asia. Not only getting the last of its pandas back from China (after 50-years of (what do we call this?) panda-sitting. And then, let’s pour lighter fluid on the panda air routes as China cancels flights on 49 routes to Japan amid renewed travel warnings.

Which will doubtless piss off Japan, but the neighborhood toughie pops with this at the same  time: China stealth bomber could fly 62% faster without radar stealth loss.

My consigliere noted Monday that a certain WSL reporter seems to have an inside track to president Xi – and was the only reporter to call his last round of closely watched personnel moves.  So, when she writes today Lingling Wei ??? on “And this is far from the end. With thousands of officers having risen through the ranks under Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli, these individuals now recognize they are primary targets for a systemic purge. Mobile devices have been seized across ranks & all units are now on high alert”.  We take it as very serious, ongoing, and please stay tuned.

Xi is a classical tactician, remember.  And we think one way to “smoke-out” disloyal players would be to line ’em up like he was about to take Taiwan.  Then, by noticing who has excuses and who drags their feet, he can gather “current loyalty data” about remaining players.

If it rolls this way, it will be problematic for western intelligence analysts because it won’t give a certain answer to the question “How real can any Taiwan bluster be taken at this point?”  But the western intel folks are drowning in other projects.

Communications Warfare

Two angles to this part: internal and external.

As you read the internal China purge notes, be picking up on hints that the military supporters of general Youxia may have used very secure military comms which even president Xi may not have had access to.  This is a seasonal watch to set because coups and power struggles always stand or fall based on asymmetries.

Externally, China’s been in the ComWars in the UK where reports now explain How China’s ‘Salt Typhoon’ hackers are waging war on West as Downing Street spying op exposed & Starmer heads to Beijing.

And the West (five eyes) has more planned “fishing trips” as Australia receives first MC-55A Peregrine spy jet.  Which is probably not looking for speeds in the wilds of New South Wales.

I know what you’re thinking: “I’m tracking… I’m tracking… okay, slow down.”

Um…no.  Roll with the grow-ups and think fast.

Sorting the Home Front

I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying, “Someone must be made to pay!”

Well, the “fall on their sword” (or step on a rake) pick seems to be Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino returning to position in El Centro: Sources.

But there’s still a gap between “the street” which has split thinking DC_Draino on X: “The rioters in Minneapolis have access to license plate databases – this proves state involvement. Their Signal chats have elected leaders and exposed money trails from Canada – this proves foreign involvement. (Ure nods in the direction of Hungary…)

Even if you don’t acknowledge possibilities, consider reading the Judicial Watch website’s Minnesota Insurrection! — Massive Election Law Update | Judicial Watch

On the other hand, could it be that the outbreak of rabid tweet disease is passing? In possible thaw, Trump and Minnesota governor talk after fatal shooting.

But, we’re not holding our breath.  The left is positioning for 2026 midterms in all this and what you don’t hear much about are two things.  First, the Somali immigrant fraud case(s) have been buried by the liberal mainstream.

Need another example?  Well, remember last week when Oversight Committee Republicans and Democrats Hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in Contempt for Defying Lawful Subpoenas – United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform?  And now today we’re seeing how Bill Clinton Blasts ICE Shootings, Warns What Happens If ‘We Give Our Freedoms Away’.  Like the “freedom” to ignore a Congressional subpoena?  Buch of chupacabras and shape-shifters and what IS that democrat-friendly judge STILL delaying the Epstein files.  No? Don’t get me wound up?  Um…sure.

But just allow me to mention there’s an underlying reveal of this OTHER story as well: “U.S. crime rates experienced a significant, broad-based decline in 2025, with major cities reporting substantial drops in violent offenses, particularly homicides, which hit their lowest point in decades. Data from 40 cities indicated 11 of 13 crime categories dropped, with homicides down 21% and carjackings plunging 61% from recent peaks.

Come fall, expect the blue city-staters to run on reduced crime and again demonstrate their inability to cope with cross-domain linkages.  (Look surprised.)

Laundry List

The government shutdown is still looming – not that we’re surprised: Prediction market traders raise odds of a government shutdown to 80%.

I can hear the conspiracy [theory?] folks asking already: “Are we really going this time?” NASA Set to Launch First Manned Moon Rocket in 50 Years: What to Know.

(I have to stop writing now, because you don’t have all day and I went through three keyboards in the last years.  No, seriously – was doing my business expenses…)

Oh! You know what?  The FOMC once again failed to invite me to the rate meeting that gets underway today!  Hard to classify whether that’s a blunder or honest mistake.

Around the Ranch: Warm Up and Workflows

Sweltering 16 outside this morning with 60F by Thursday and a return to ‘piddles and puddles’ next week. Thursday is shaping up as a “mid-winter painting day.”  New wood furniture will be getting two coats of gloss spar varnish before setting out.  I mentioned – living on a sailboat for 11-years – that I have a real fancy for good brightwork.

Workflows are slowly coming together. You might remember on a ShopTalk Sunday a year, or so back, I promised myself that I’d “get dedicated workstations” for major activities around here – and there’s been a lot of progress on that front.

If you have time, see Two “TimeTools” – Time Engineering but here’s the meat of it:

Timeese Takeouts

(We’ll unpack Timeese properly soon — because time is the only asset you don’t get to refinance.)

  • TimeTool #1: Chunking to a restartable milestone

  • TimeTool #2: Task rotation for acuity

  • TimeTool #3: The “Stuckness trigger” as an instrumentation event
You can build a whole taxonomy: TimeTools for planning, execution, recovery, review.

Yeah, I know – title says 2, but right there are 3.  And I’ll refer you back to how I went through 3 backlit cheap keyboards in 2025…

Write when you get rich (and come back for the Housing report shortly)

  1. Hi George, You might have helped me dodge a bullet — or at least some unpleasantness — with your link “China cancels flights on 49 routes to Japan amid renewed travel warnings.” I was shopping for air tickets for Indonesia for August and the obvious connections are Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. I had already eliminated Hong Kong but now the other two are on the list as well. So now I’m thinking connecting in Singapore, South Korea, Philippines, or maybe the U.A.E. I’ll wait a couple of months to book in any case and hope this is all just a Xi psyop.

  2. G-Pops,
every legacy reader hear on urban survival should already be like Rockfella “rich”, what with a Silver G. Washington Quarter being worth $20 each today. Thats like $80 bucks on a Peace Dollar (Silver Dollar) .

Da future is being built on Uranium. Let that sink in a lil bit, okay like a gregorian chant it; Da Future is being built on Uranium.and some Silver.

In fact Ure very own taxpayer funded Military is developing a rather ubique Isotop of Urianium – called U115 for Interplanetary travel..shsssssssh
You see we do in fact have the technology for Urianium 235 conversion –

Silver has a critical role in these processes for its Containment role, as well.

New Battery tech with Silver Anodes prevents explosions and dramatically extends range.
2 largest deposits of Uranium – Greenland and Athabasca Basin Canada – R needed for securing sources for construction of “Golden Dome” space structure program.
Also got some hints on new tech in Uranium mining utilizing a specialized liquid Salt containment process.

And zo after all that Youse are gonna wanna know who is the BIGGEST BADDEST URANIUM Miner in Western Hemi, with associated stock symbol ?

  3. I used to believe the Apollo program landed men on the moon, drove cool electric vehicles around, et cetera, all live broadcasted on TV for the world to see. Around 2000 I quit believing in fairy tales as the reality of 9/11 came into view. Faking the moon landings was a matter of national security to ensure that we would win the space race, after watching Stanley Kubrick‘s 2001 space Odyssey they realized it was cheaper to film it and safer than they actually do it. And the fact that Richard Nixon was president during all the moon landings makes me believe it even less every day. The type of film they used to supposedly used to take pictures and videos was heat sensitive and could withstand the high temperatures of the moon.

    • The landings certainly could be fake but people like you, me or the others using observatory tools can bounce a light beam off mirrors placed on the moon. The mirrors got their somehow and were properly adjusted/calibrated.

“Laser retroreflectors on the Moon are specialized, prism-based mirror arrays left by Apollo (11, 14, 15), Soviet Lunokhod (1, 2), and modern missions (Chandrayaan).”

Perhaps someone needs to pass the cup to create a cubesat and look for traces of man on the moon from outside of Earth’s atmosphere.

  5. Last week G.A. Stewart left a comment that I totally agree with. Both the left and the right are being played by the media and the powers that control it to fight each other when the real danger is left uncommented here. While lots of the protesters are true leftists, many are motivated to join in protests because the constitution is being trampled. JD Vance, Steven Miller and Kristi Noem are claiming that warrants are not needed for any of their actions and that the ICE officers have total immunity for anything they do – that they are essentially above and beyond the law. We should be finding common cause to shut down this interpretation of our laws – do you really want Gavin Newsome or whoever is next to be saying this same thing? If we don’t stand up now against these radical ideas it will soon be too late. History teaches us that unrestrained and unaccountable power always leads to corruption, cruelty and oppression that will come back to bite everyone.

The true reality of WAR is that on the ground “there is NO LAW, no Rules in WAR, none whatsoever.

        Little Bush said it best:

“President George W. Bush said, “I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system” “I am sorry we’re having to do it,” Bush said.”

I’m really thinking Trump will confiscate AU/AG for the ‘good of the nation’. It’ll be a two minute speech ended w/””I am sorry we’re having to do it,” Trump said.”

The AU/AG to back any currency will have to come from somewhere.

ICE support will flip flop. The people who support ICE now will get raided and the people who don’t support ICE now will laugh at them. It’s how it works.

The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Lt. Gen. Budanov, issued a public post marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day. He states that on this day in 1945 the First Ukrainian Front liberated nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, and he followed on with implied accolades to the current Ukrainian regime.

According to ChatGPT, Auschwitz was liberated by the First Ukrainian Front from the Soviet 60th Red Army. However the former received its name from its direction of approach, Ukraine, not by ethnicity. Apparently rough estimates of the ethnic composition for the First Ukrainian Front are Russian 66%, Ukrainian 16%, Belarusian 3%, followed by lesser percentages from multiple other ethnic groups.

Meanwhile Ukraine PM Mrs. Svyrydenko has announced a new wrinkle in a federal home buying program aimed at military members, teachers, and medical professionals. Mortgage rates are offered at 3%. Those eligible may apply online through the government app. I get two translated possibilities for the housing program name “Ye Osela”. Likely the intended meaning would be “There is a home/place to live”. Apparently in less formal settings, the phrasing with appropriate cautions in place may be offered as an insult conveying “You are a donkey.”

  7. George , regarding “Somali Fraud Cases” ,,,,,, interesting thing , the lead guy ( Joe Thompson ? ) was the only one seriously looking into the Fraud Cases. Just a few weeks ago either he resigned with 6 of the Federal Prosecutors OR he was fired , depending on who you listen to. Story was they were being forced to “investigate” the wife of the woman who was killed (Goode) and resigned in protest. Then another story said that they were fired. He seemed very diligent and committed to getting to the bottom of the fraud. He broke the ” 8 billion in fraud ” story. Smells a little like a Federal coverup.
