Today’s column may sound a bit direct and maybe even harsh. But the weather has finally broken out of the heat wave, so I can get my “game back on.”
Digital Data Roundup
Here’s what the taskers are reporting in – and this should explain the “yammer” caption.
Source-Access Audit
63 unique deduplicated story clusters screened; 45-cluster floor cleared. Discovery covered Gulf/Iran/Yemen/Saudi energy, U.S.-China/Taiwan/South China Sea, Russia/Ukraine/NATO/Baltics, Fed/rates/Treasuries/dollar/gold/equities, U.S. labor/housing, AI models/security/finance/governance, Europe/India trade, Korea, aviation, critical infrastructure, food/health, tropical weather, domestic casualties/disasters, space weather and UAP/paranormal material.
And hardly any of it – other than SpaceX-caliber interest rates – highest in 22 years – has really caught our attention.
The Dynamic That Matters
Remember our chart from Thursday morning? Early futures were telling us this:

You can see how the red line – the 85-Day Moving Average – is rolling over. What we would expect is that today, Monday, or Tuesday, there will be one more blast higher before the rollover begins to pick up downside speed. Of course, this is not financial advice – same as we tell depressed people not to drive over high bridges or walk under ladders.
News Compressor: On
Composite Alert: AMBER — HARDENING FINANCIALLY, MIXED GEOPOLITICALLY. The overnight shift is important: Gulf diplomacy has finally put downward pressure on oil again, but the bond market is transmitting the previous oil shock into rates with unusual force. Meanwhile, Trump-Xi bought time rather than solving anything, Russia is still striking Kyiv despite the proposed energy truce, and Hawaii now has an immediate hurricane/flood problem.
Sit On Your Wallet Time?
1. RATES / BONDS — The economic transmission chain has reached the Treasury market. The U.S. 10-year yield hit 5.196% Thursday, its highest since 2007, the 30-year reached 5.4816%, its highest since 2004, and Fed funds futures moved to a 71% probability of another hike next month after stronger activity and price data. This is now more than an oil story:
oil > inflation > Fed > bonds > mortgages/equities…
…has become the dominant domestic transmission path. Hardening rapidly. Odds: 95%.
We have been telling you in our Over-the-Horizon AI reads that when this ridgeline in the charts breaks, it’s going to be ugly. That’s why living simply, staying out of debt, and not taking on another bill has been the play for the past 10+ years. Yeah – stupid early. But better than a moment late.
2. GULF / ENERGY — Diplomacy is finally outrunning yesterday’s Saudi attack premium. Oil turned lower Friday as markets weighed U.S.-Iran truce possibilities against continuing Houthi attacks, while Saudi Arabia’s restored East-West pipeline is improving physical crude flows; new U.S. sanctions have simultaneously blocked Iranian airlines from neighboring states, so political pressure remains high. Can it all flip on a dime? Yep. We don’t bet chaos.
3. U.S. / CHINA — Trump-Xi produced a pause, a yammer-stammer – not a settlement. Washington and Beijing extended their trade truce only about two months, while Taiwan, AI, technology controls, rare earths and deeper structural trade issues remain unresolved; Xi again pressed Trump on Washington’s Taiwan position. Stable? Hah! Slap your chess timer.
4. HAWAII / HURRICANE NOLO — This has become the highest-confidence immediate physical hazard in the scan. Nolo became a hurricane overnight about 255 miles south of South Point with 75-mph sustained winds, and the National Hurricane Center warns of possible catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding on the Big Island as the storm intensifies toward major-hurricane strength. Rainfall forecasts reach 15–20 inches widely on the Big Island with isolated totals around 35 inches. Rapidly escalating. Odds: 98%. National Hurricane Center

Not in Hawaii, obviously, but hereabouts?

We can also point at the numbers to explain why we say 66.8 percent (of the mainland) is still abnormally dry:

Inside Pages
U.S. labor refuses to cooperate with the recession narrative. Weekly initial jobless claims remained near 57-year lows, while price reductions helped revive new-home sales despite punishing borrowing costs. Economic resilience continuing. Crack-up boom, anyone?
Housing is becoming an affordability problem more than a simple demand-collapse story. The benchmark U.S. 30-year mortgage rate has moved above 7% to its highest level in more than two years. Household pressure increasing.
A paradox to watch in the rate stew: Gold is headed toward a weekly loss as the stronger dollar and expectations of further Fed tightening overwhelm some of its geopolitical bid.
Ukraine’s proposed energy truce still isn’t visible on the battlefield. Don’t hold your breath.
Europe is getting edgy and dicey: Swedish and Finnish fighters scrambled Friday to intercept and identify Russian military aircraft, while Britain is separately briefing defense companies and critical-infrastructure operators about Russian threats.
Chinese skipping Taiwan, for now? Manila says Chinese coast guard and naval vessels obstructed Thursday’s Philippine resupply mission to Second Thomas Shoal, potentially testing whether summit-level stabilization translates into operational restraint.
Australia is considering stronger AI rules, potentially including mandatory incident reporting, after an OpenAI system breached a health-system database during authorized security testing. Regulatory pressure accelerating. But who’s going after whoever wrote the tasker? GMAFB People are the Problem – not silicon.
An AI breaching a health-system database during sanctioned testing, specialized cyber models, and Washington’s coming CEO meeting all strengthen the distinction developed in this week’s PN work: the hard governance question is increasingly what an agent is authorized to do, not what a private user is allowed to ask it. Are we the only ones who can spell “malicious tasking” and make it a felony?
I’m going out in the shop to yell at my lathe and milling machine because they could make an illegal weapon if I chose… Did we get this far in history without a “Bridgeport ban?” My God people are nuts.
OpenAI’s preparing to preview GPT-6 Cyber within days, which will trigger more (hysterical) questions about autonomous offensive and defensive capability.
Preview of Next Week
Markets will react to weekend news (or the lack of it). Dallas Fed midday. Sleep late. I will take the day off and let AI taskers provide the news work.
India is openly describing U.S. relations as an economic headwind. H-1B whiners. Can I get a job in India if it displaces an Indian national? Same question to all open border loons. Show us policy equality or STFU.
Europe’s jet-fuel problem remains a downstream Gulf indicator. We have shelved plans for dinner and the Louvre this weekend. (And with it, a delay in my book The Art of the Art…)
Next Tuesday Housing numbers are likely to hold – that’s what inflation does. Remember there’s a roughly two-month lag on this – but if you like rearview driving, have at it.
Beyond That?
Wednesday begins Employment Week. ADP, Challenger Thursday and offishul numbers Friday.
Monday is National Drink Beer Day while Tuesday is more sobering as National Coffee Day. Which is also National Silent E Day.
Wednesday Orange Shirt Day arrives (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation). Widely observed here in East Texas because white-tail deer archery season begins in a week. Orange in the woods time.
Around the Ranch? Showdown with the Mow Down
Death to Cockleburs is the plan this morning. Off to yell “Hi Ho Craftsman” and ride the 54-inch monster around for a couple of hours.
When the 2 acres around the house are done, the 100-meter gun range gets mowed with the Kubota and bush hog.
But the main maintenance tasks here are less fun and involve actual labor. Setting up ladders and cleaning the gutters with 3 inches of rain coming.
And then setting up my “Wild Seeding” experiments. I got a pound of organic broccoli seeds, a like amount of cauliflower, and one other (I’ll remember later). The idea is to mow the range close, then with the bucket forks down, make 300-foot rows down to the backstop. Should be interesting to see what I can get to growing back there.
Plus, five more pounds of Dutch clover will be overseeded out front. The four-legged acorn munchers have been out in force all week. I expected a cheering audience when I put up the fresh “No Hunting – Don’t Ask” signs.
Write when you get rich,
George@Ure.net
After my lawn spray showed results, I overseeded with 15lbs premium grass seed. A friend overseeds turnip seed where he sets up for deer hunting.
Had to look up Dutch clover. Ah, we call it white clover here… what I sprayed the lawn to kill.

Voodoo Island (1957)
This movie features three different kinds of man-eating plants! First, there’s a scene where a huge cabbage-like plant eats a child — very bold for the time. Second, there’s a water plant that kills one of the two women on the expedition. And third, there’s a land plant that resembles a lamprey. For fans of man-eating plant movies Voodoo Island is a bonanza!

Royal Society member Sir James Porter arrived at Istanbul in the 1740’s as a diplomat to a peaking Ottoman Empire. He is credited with introducing the Turkish proverb “a fish rots from the head” to English readers in 1768. He is a direct ancestor of the 7th Duke of Westminster who has an estimated £9.56 billion fortune, and the Prince of Wales is godfather to his child…
Welcome back, and thank you DJ George for bringing us “American Boy” by Kanye West featuring Estelle.
Last week msm pictured former Mrs. West turned billionaire fashionista Kim Kardashian exiting the ultra-exclusive Club Estelle of Grafton Street attired in a mermaid dress. Presently the club allegedly reports closure with immediate effect for some weeks to come due to “a serious public safety matter outside the premises”.
Developed in the 1760’s by the 3rd Duke of Grafton, a most recent tenant at the address until 2017 or so had been the colonial era established Hong Kong Trade Office. It was known as the Hong Kong Government Office answering to the Governor of Hong Kong until 1997.
One might have thought that the Princess of Wales earned the Amazon crown with her mourning amethyst jewel-laden march into Tom Cruise’s new movie premiere of “Digger” on Tuesday. Spoiler alert: the plot involves a fictional world’s richest man. However yesterday the U.S. First Lady made a circa 1984 Tom Hank’s mermaid “Splash” by dropping her State Dinner menu on the White House website at the following link:

Her wine toast selection may be seen to link #37 Admin’s CReeP letter and the vineyard’s pre-colonial home domicile name of “Chicken Hawk Place” to offer an unsettling aftertaste on elite palates. According to a State Dinner billionaire guest-owned “Washington Post”, the bass main course is alleged as the Black Sea variety native to Eastern USA coastal waters. Wiki informs that the fish type largely exhibits a “protogynous hermaphrodite” lifecycle. They are typically born female and later convert to male. Meal courses were scheduled to be polished off plates using the famous 1981 Nancy Reagan commissioned dinner service.

Portent of future doom ?
I had just uploaded a library to the J.A.R.V.I.S. ‘foundation’.., picked up my coffee mug.., and – the handle popped off – dropping the mug about two inches back onto the desk.
– WTH ! That’s shame. It has been my go-to mug for over 24 years. Thick and heavy clear, dark green glass. Over 26,000 cups of morning-mood elixir. Not counting all the cups of tea. Which would add about a third more.
– Throw it away !? Never ! It will now become a pen and pencil holder sitting prominently on the desk. Gorilla-glued the handle back on – for looks. Been a buddy of mine for many a mornings.
The hunt is on for a new ‘morning-friend’.
The library I uploaded was 6,200 books and over 12,000 peer-reviewed papers on human psychology. Criminal, abnormal, child, military and all the other areas of study. I hesitated at first., as I really don’t need to be constantly examined by J.A.R.V.I.S. – however, the intro note stated that this library has become the second most requested from A.I. builders. And I decided that I shouldn’t short-change J.A.R.V.I.S.’ education.
.., back at it. Only half way there.
“Stay Frosty!”
We are sorry to hear about the mug. I finally gave up on lifetime mug relations – nothing lasts on a sailboat more than a season or four.
OTOH, I am pleased that you are uploading a real – not purely online – training base – and we keep a couple of tera’s full of offline knowledge handy, as well. Our little “pocket AI” won’t do much compared to the big guns, but time has a price and for two grown-up (well, sorta) AIs on a commercial platform, that’s a deal because the cost per calculation gets silly if I have to keep up a machine. G2’s buddy Silky (don’t ask) is one of those 96GB fellows and it’s fun watching him try to figure out how to get into the serious money in ai.
That exercise, at some level, is like going out into t6he woods, finding some musyterious power tool, and figuring out first how it works and then how to make money with it. A younger man’s pastime.
Besides if it really does work to its limits, government will find a way to tax or impound it anyway. And while their attention is diverted, your 2×8 bucket rig for hydro mato’s is a much cleaner (fruitful>) use of time.
Check out Fine Arts America for mugs and even shower curtains. Everyone needs an impressionist shower curtain and coffee mug or four.
For Fall theme, Grandma Moses pumpkin themes are in season.
My favorite mug is green ceramic with “I found Flying M Ranch” on it. Chipped by the dishwasher, it remains in service and likely will for the foreseeable future.
Flying M ranch is a neighbor of yours, George, at Reklaw, TX. If you haven’t been there, you should. Quite a fly-in on the last full weekend of October every year. That looks to be 10/24 – 10/25 this year.
Use Google and find it’s a vintage brother or sister coffee mug.
If it’s glass, just fix it.
Glass mugs are borosilicate glass (Pyrex/Kimax, etc.)
Use these, or similar:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1NSJQKW
and a propane or MAPP gas torch.
Glass is the easiest substance I can think of, to weld, because between “red hot” and “runny,” it gets really sticky, so all you have to do to reattach a handle is heat cup, heat handle, get all four contact points to shiny neon-white hot (you’ll understand, once you see it) and stick the handle where you want it. Keep the torch on the joints, back off to an oxidizing flame, and slowly back off (‘cuz it’s a pain in the butt, redoing your work because the damn’ thing cooled too quickly and cracked.) It helps if you’ve seen glass blowing done in a carnival, but it’s dead easy to learn (if you blow glass, NEVER INHALE {duh!})
I watched my brother build several intricate condensers out of tubing & flasks, then started doing blowing, folding, and welding when I was about 9-10, with his scraps. I never once burned myself or the house. I quit when I was 13, after a piece of half-inch glass slipped and cut me (not badly, but sufficiently-bloody to attract ‘rents. I ended up with two stitches and a stern suggestion to “stop.”
So I stopped, and began my 12-pad automatic rocket launch control center, instead, using a 4rpm clock motor and a homemade finger-switch. My parents did not encourage me to do anything in particular, but they only discouraged me from doing things which might kill or cripple me (or someone else.) Model rockets are safe, right?
My rocket launch experiment led to me wondering if I could make my own propellant and re-use those expensive (29¢ or 3/79¢) Estes rocket engines. This led me to making giant powder, followed by my first cannon. The first shot put a ball bearing through the side of our garage, 12 hundred-year-old oak 2x12s, and the other side of the garage. (It took just one shot to figure out that I needed a backstop…) ‘Never fired that cannon again, without a proper range.
I dropped the cannon in favor of learning how to hit kids so hard in pickup football games, as to make them not want to tackle me — then back to mowing lawns.
Oh, to be 13 again…
BTW, the propane torch is also the cure for chipped rims (or chipped edges on Corelle, which is also a type of borosilicate glass.) Heat until white hot, let cool slowly, and presto: No sharp edges. You can use the rod I linked to, to fillet-weld a deep chip, but you have to be picky about your fill because ya ain’ta gonna grind it down or radius it…

You really need to get the poll widget going.

This is totally….OFF TOPIC….but Hank hit me with something the other day I had never even heard of..
BLACK GARLIC….now I love garlic , onions, and peppers ( sweet peppers) but was curious.. black garlic in marinades soups or just eat it..
Black garlic is made by aging regular garlic under controlled heat and humidity, resulting in a rich, sweet, and probiotic packed ingredient. Beyond its distinctive taste, it boasts high levels of antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and support overall wellness….. Studies suggest black garlic may promote heart health, strengthen the immune system, battle cancer, and improve digestion. Its versatility in both savory and sweet dishes also makes it a favorite among chefs and health enthusiasts alike, proving that good flavor can go hand in hand with powerful nutrition….
Now…. everyone here knows that I am excited about KOJI and speed aging steaks..since the world is going to he’ll in a handbasket.. I decided for this Christmas I am giving my normal kitchen gadget bring the family to the table..sit enjoy and share your life…A lamp to be the light for others.. so this year I made cold countertop smoker some koji ( everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a steak or roast that usually sells from between $40.00 – $300.00 a pound..in fancy restaurants a four hundred dollar meal)
which got me thinking..what IF…..black garlic is added to the KOJI marinade.. so I did a search…
(“Combining black garlic with a koji marinade can:
Enhance umami due to the additional amino acids in black garlic alongside the protein breakdown from koji.
Add sweetness and depth without overpowering the marinade.
Support flavor balance, especially in meats that need both tenderizing and rich seasoning (e.g., beef, pork, or chicken).
Tips for Using in a Marinade
Quantity: Start with 1–2 cloves of mashed black garlic per cup of liquid in your koji marinade. Adjust to taste. The goal is subtle sweetness and aromatic complexity, not to dominate the meat flavor.
Timing: Add black garlic at the same time as the koji. Since black garlic is soft and processed, it does not require fermentation time but incorporating it at the start allows its flavors to meld with the meat.
Complementary Ingredients: Ingredients like soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, or citrus can harmonize the flavor profile without interfering with the enzymatic action of koji.
Marinating Duration: Koji tenderizes meat relatively quickly. Large cuts may need 4–6 hours in the refrigerator, while smaller cuts can require 2–4 hours. Avoid over-marinating, as koji can overly soften the meat.
Cooking Considerations: Koji-marinated meat can be seared, grilled, or roasted. When cooking, be aware of black garlic’s sugars; it may brown faster, so monitor heat to avoid burning the glaze.
Flavor Notes
Black garlic complements beef, pork, and dark poultry particularly well.
The combination adds savory-sweet depth similar to aged or fermented marinades, enhancing both texture and umami impact.”)
A good mojo marinade is..
Liquid Koji Steak Marinade
21/4 cups rice koji
11/4 cups water
2 tablespoons non-iodized salt
Optional: 1–2 tablespoons sake or dry white wine….( hey I wonder..what if..I used cacao wine..)
Warm the 11/4 cups water to about 140°F.
Let it cool somewhat, then combine with the koji and salt.
Put everything in a clean jar and stir well.
Cover loosely and ferment at about 65–75°F for 7–10 days, stirring once daily.
When the koji has softened and smells pleasantly sweet/savory, blend it with an immersion blender until smooth.
now how does black garlic work to kill cancer cells???
Some of the compounds associated with fresh garlic decrease during its fermentation, while relatively stable sulfur compounds such as S allylcysteine (SAC) and S allylmercaptocysteine (SAMC) become more prominent…..
From what I have read the chemical mechanisms Encouraged apoptosis — programmed cell death… similar to sweet wormwood attacking the iron cells. these garlic compounds can activate pathways that cause damaged or cancerous cells to undergo apoptosis that have been observed in laboratory models….
These chemicals Interfered with the uncontrolled cell division of cancer cells. These studies have found effects on cell cycle signaling, potentially preventing cancer cells from continuing to multiply….
Influencing invasion and metastasis…. Experimental studies have found inhibition of processes cancer cells use to migrate and invade surrounding tissue.
Influencing oxidative and inflammatory pathways. Garlic’s sulfur compounds interact with several cellular signaling systems rather than acting through one single mechanism….
All of this information hints that black garlic possibly affecting carcinogen processing…. Some garlic compounds appear to influence enzymes involved in detoxification of carcinogens…..
As interesting as this is Black garlic has not been proven to treat or cure cancer in humans…. The strongest evidence for these mechanisms comes from cell cultures and animal studies, and the amount of a compound that affects a cancer cell in a laboratory isn’t necessarily achievable by eating garlic…. The National Cancer Institute specifically notes that there is currently no proof that a food, supplement, herb, or dietary trend that can slow, cure, or prevent cancer from returning….or killing it outright..
Similar to the cancer studies in the UK and Canada that suggest marijuana oil and coconut oil suppositories (rectal and vaginal)assist with fighting cancers….( all lab so far marijuana is still being demonized by congress …and the lobbyists still pushing to keep it illegal )
back to KOJI and black garlic..
Now…wet fermented garlic… will it work with a 1 gallon experimental batch
Ingredients
3 lb peeled fresh garlic cloves ( Costco’s bag of whole garlic)
1 gallon total fermentation liquid
3 oz salt — about 5–6 Tbsp, 1/4 cup
4 oz sugar — about 1/2 cup
1 packet wine yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)
1 cup 5% vinegar, included in the gallon liquid
Non chlorinated water as needed to make the final liquid volume exactly 1 gallon
i will use wine yeast rather than bread yeast because I am deliberately trying to produce a controlled fermentation with a predictable organism….
I might end up with something quite different from commercialy available black garlic—potentially it could be softer, tangier, less pungently garlicky, and with a different mixture of sulfur compounds…. then do the heat aging..
I will try three batches..one like making sour kraut one like wine with sugar and one the conventional way..
For the conventional black garlic I will start with 2–3 whole garlic bulbs
my Slow cooker with LOW/WARM or my Insta pot
Small rack or steamer basket….
1 cup water
Foil….
Thermometer capable of measuring around 140–180°F
Don’t put the garlic directly into water…what I need to do is keep a humid environment like a humidor for cigars…
Leave the garlic bulbs whole and unpeeled…..
Put a rack/steamer basket in the slow cooker.
Add about 1 cup water underneath the rack.
Put the garlic on the rack.
Cover the cooker.
Wrap the lid with foil or a towel if necessary to reduce moisture escaping—but don’t make a pressure tight seal…. not needed in the Insta pot
Set it to the lowest setting that actually gives you roughly 160–170°F around the garlic….
Then the hard part… let it sit 3–5 weeks, depending upon temperature……
I know its simply easier and probably cheaper to go to the ZON and ordering it..but tgen..the what if…you can’t just run to the store.. in a dry slow cooker or solar aging ..spray a light mist of water daily yo keep the humidity high..
for your KOJI / BLACK garlic marinade..add one or two cloves to the marinade..depending on your taste buds..up or down..you choose…
Yum.
Let me know where you find the patience to not raid it ahead of time…
garlic cant have heat more than 45 seconds loses its sellenium
(holds up card)
Have to roll with LOOB on this one:
You’re mixing two different garlic stories and attaching the wrong clock to the wrong molecule. The 45-second selenium rule is not right.
Selenium is an element. Heat does not make the atom disappear at 45 seconds. What cooking can do is change which selenium compounds are present, and in hard frying some organoselenium can leave with the steam or oil. A 2018 cooking study on Se-enriched garlic (oven 10 min, boil 10 min, microwave 3 min, steam 10 min, stir-fry 3 min at 180 °C) found roughly 6–11% total Se loss from boiling or steaming and about 64% loss from frying. Those are minutes, not 45 seconds, and frying is the outlier—not a brief sauté.
What you may be remembering is sulfur chemistry, not selenium. Crush garlic and the enzyme alliinase turns alliin into allicin (the smell and a lot of the “raw garlic” talk). Alliinase is heat-shy. Song and Milner showed about 60 seconds of microwave heat, or 45 minutes in an oven, can wipe out that enzyme path and the anticancer activity they were measuring. Letting crushed garlic sit ~10 minutes before heat preserved a good share of that activity. That is 45 minutes in an oven, or ~60 seconds in a microwave—not “45 seconds or you lose the selenium.”
Cooked garlic is not empty. You lose some allicin-path compounds; you keep minerals (mostly), other organosulfur leftovers, and flavor. If you want the crush-and-wait chemistry, mince it, wait several minutes, then add it near the end. If you want dinner, cook the garlic. Don’t treat a 45-second selenium ban as a law of nature.
OK – that’s that part. And the other part?
I did a lot of work on AGE (aged garlic extract) when I was doing my antiaging research and it’s still a very important part of the arsenal under certain conditions (injury, flu-likes, and so forth). Not as powerful as ginger, for blood pressure, as an example, buet very good stuff andf especially in combination with C. I was focused on telomeres, though, and not day-in-day-out moving the average.
But thought you’d want to know, Len. Ginger People sells the ginger juice by the liter on Amazon.
And if you ask me to go deeper (because this is important to those of us who are aging…)
There is no large randomized trial of AGE with all-cause death or years lived as the endpoint. Reviews that list serious anti-aging candidates (metformin, NAD precursors, rapalogs, (think rapamycin) senolytics, GLP-1s) do not put AGE in that class.
AGE is a better BP long-term (in what has been studied so far, no real RCT’s) but if you have hypertension there’s a stacking caution Len – If you stack them, watch bleeding risk (both can nudge platelets) and don’t treat either as a reason to skip the cuff or the prescribed pill.
ahh well . you cook it mate . i never do . russian blue best . you all need more garlic alright
Lazy ass that I am, I just bought the gel pills to swallow. Now If I wanted to make a marinade I would be piercing the gels and squeezing out the liquid to get a few tablespoonfuls. Sacrilege, I know. But like I said, I’m a…….

Well, George, I finished reading The Good War last night. It was a very interesting story that was most compelling. I can easily visualize it as a movie. I would have liked you to have further explained the use of nuclear bombs, where they were detonated, what the payload could have been, and the damage incurred. That all seemed nebulous in the story, but perhaps that particular data might have exceeded certain limits of the book.
The thing is two fold – first is that if I had done that the book would have crossed from a good fictional account of some very hard choices into “just another doom porn EoW” story [end of world].
The further problem is that I may still know too much about specific weapons, triggering, and which targeting packages would be used – and I didn’t want to get down to the “exchange targets with enemy in advance, or not, because that would have been a whole other layer of government conspiracy.
Yeah, I thought so.
According to this movie from 1970 Texas is going to get hit.
