Markets have reached one of those wonderfully uncomfortable places where the bullish and bearish cases can both be right — just on different clocks. Our State-Variance work says there is still room overhead, Tech has climbed safely back above its 85-day moving average, and the Ebbinghaus-Ure work suggests the market may have finished its latest consolidation and be setting up for another push higher.
But here’s where it gets interesting. Our Differential work is calling this a “second wind,” while the companion oscillator is moving back toward territory associated with market tops. Add our long-running 1929 comparison, rising interest rates, and the possibility of one last enthusiasm-driven run, and the question isn’t simply up or down? It’s whether another move higher is the beginning of something — or the finishing move of something already very old.
That’s what this weekend’s 40-page Peoplenomics ChartPack works through: State-Variance, Magic Ovals, the 1929 comparison, U.S. and Global Aggregates, moving-average crossings, Differential Oscillators, Golems and the Wave Projector. The short version? The charts permit another push higher — but…let’s the rest for subscribers. Everyone else gets to find out later what we were talking about today.

I occassionally make a post inside PN, but you have been so slow to post there isn’t any way to get a discussion going behind the firewall.
The partisans are running out of hot-button issues to stimulate contributions from any party other than corporate economic engines.
War is diplomacy by other means, and foreign policy is an extension of political revenue. Meanwhile, food stress is becoming very real in this country like it was in the 20’s and 30’s.
I have been looking around at rural real estate, and what I see is crazy. Owning in the country has become more of a lifestyle statement than a real lifestyle. The landscape is littered with 3500 sq ft homes with too little land or proper fencing to get an ag exemption. These fantasy castles have tax bills that are higher than I would feel comfortable as a mortgage payment. The going rate for a house and 10 acres is running a million and higher.
One strategy I haven’t considered before is to look at ag land and a house a few miles apart. I need better access to alternate water sources, but I am not interested in flood plain living. Hmmm….
Food prices are reaching the point where home production might become a b
And real estate is being consumed by urban expansion at a staggering rate, while more and more land is being turned into concrete heat sinks…..we lose prime farmland…
I have been harping on this for fifty years: cities should be greenscaped…solar towers at every substation as mini grids in the event of A disabling storm..handing out grid tie solar energy with remote dissingage switches to keep control of energy production as nodes to a more sustainable system..just exactly the reasoning of the rural electrification co op was started..
While we keep treating every square foot of urban land as something that must be covered with concrete, asphalt, and buildings……Rooftops, vacant lots, medians, parks, greenways, and even portions of developed properties could be producing food, cooling the surrounding environment, managing rainwater, and giving people another measure of food security.
We keep talking about the rising cost of food and the shrinking availability of affordable land, but perhaps we’re overlooking one of the biggest resources we already have—the land inside and around our cities.
Maybe the future isn’t simply expanding the city farther into farmland.
Maybe it’s making the city itself part of the food system.
To finish my comment:
“Food prices are reaching the point where home production might become a” breakeven proposition again.
The farmers around here are frustrated… grain prices are so low that they simply cannot make any money harvesting the crops..they were first hit with high cost of planting..and now the fuel costs are scaring the farmers and prohibiting them from harvesting….
What an epiphany….
everyone knows about my rantings on the totally broken healthcare system in the usa…
my daughters friends mom passed away..she was an executive of a facility I worked for.. her best friend was my administrator of the same facility.. Both had husbands that committed suicide..forty years ago or so..
the healthcare facilities were both for profit..
everyone knows that those with money, land, or businesses ….get great service fast.. where those without are limited or have to wait..both of the ladies basically thought if they slept to the top… only to lose a husband because of their ambitions…the company they worked for went bellied up.. once the farms cash businesses are gone facilities rely on they get federal assistance.. that doesn’t even provide enough to meet the wages of someone making minimum wage for one shift of eight hours a day.. which is why costs are out the roof for cares.. neither remarried..and both lost everything in their quest..
what a crazy ass world we live in..
Observing without letting my left brain get involved: women have to do business in a man’s world; men use there position to get laid, for a woman, you get laid for the position-it’s the equal and opposite energy force.
Now that AI is dominating left brain “thinking” humans will have to reengage the right brain intuition, gut feeling, instinct and insight—as a man thinks “in his heart, so is he”. Humans have an opportunity to evolve as a species or we take our fighting to the next level and destroy everything. AI does not have a right brain, it can process “all” the information but it cannot experience being alive; humans can evolve, we can “feel” being alive, we can allow coherence and connection within ourselves.

Add the broth and let it reduce by half. Stir in the heavy cream and the remaining tablespoon of butter. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens and coats the mushrooms, about 3 to 5 minutes….

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add smashed garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Place the baby bok choy cut-side down in the pan and sear for 2–3 minutes until lightly charred..( its the charring that brings out the flavor)
Pour in the stock and soy sauce, cover the pan, and let the bok choy braise for 3–4 minutes until tender…

one pound salmon side cut in half..
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup white sesame seeds

2 tsp sugar (any, I use white)
2 tsp fresh ginger , minced
1 clove garlic , minced
Preheat oven to 430F. Place on the shelf below the broiler heat source at the top of the oven….
https://www.amazon.com/BIG-HORN-OUTDOORS-Portable-Stainless/dp/B089Y1HXSF/ref=sr_1_2?
Sprinkle both sides of the salmon with salt and pepper.
Place sesame in shallow dish.
Press salmon into sesame seeds to coat on all sides.
Place on tray.
Drizzle top with oil.
Bake for 10 minutes. Flick to broiler on high – broil / grill for 3 minutes until the top is a bit golden (or bake for 5 minutes, but won’t be as golden). (Note 5)
Remove from oven, rest 3 minutes. Serve with soba and greens, garnished with scallions (optional) and drizzled with Dressing.
For the dressing…Place ingredients in jar and shake. Set aside for 5 minutes.
My Honey Bee version of honey ice cream
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup honey
4 egg yolks
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp guar gum or corn starch xanthum gum…( Wal-Mart has either of them)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
The egg yolks + cornstarch provide body, while the tiny amount of guar gum helps control free water and slows ice crystal growth during storage. Hydrocolloid stabilizers such as guar and xanthan are specifically used in frozen desserts for this purpose….I use xanthan gum..
Important..very important…Don’t throw it directly into the milk….
Mix the 1/4 teaspoon guar gum thoroughly with the cornstarch first. Better yet, mix both into a tablespoon or two of the honey. This disperses the gum and prevents those awful little gelatinous lumps. King Arthur Flour company similarly recommends dispersing xanthan into dry ingredients before adding it to the liquid…like making gravy….
Now to make it…
Whisk egg yolks, honey, cornstarch, guar gum and salt together.
Heat milk and cream until steaming but not boiling….
Slowly whisk the hot dairy into the egg mixture….( warm not boiling hot wedding want to cook the eggs.. I actually add the mixture while the milk is at room temperature…)
Return everything to the saucepan.
Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens—about 170–175°F…once it coats the spoon like a medium thick gravy…
Remove from heat and add vanilla….( I like vanilla so I add a little more)
Strain through a fine sieve.
Chill completely—preferably overnight.
Churn until soft serve consistency.
Pack into a shallow airtight container and freeze quickly…..
A dinner good enough to feed to royalty….
Thanks, Loob!
Yum, I might have guessed that you’d cook up a task template translating hoity-toity White House State Dinner language into everyday lingo. Now anyone can dish up a feast fit for an oligarch. (MAGA alert: by the way in case anyone is wondering, salmon are not hermaphrodites like sea bass can be.)
Interestingly one of the msms interviewed a still-living former White House chef from the #44 Administration seeking his thoughts about the recent State Dinner Menu. He described the selection as insulting common fare unworthy of White House event stature, and equivalent to serving pigs feet to President Xi. Anyways my local independent grocer owned by a Muslim family appears to have no problem selling pigs feet. They’re usually packaged in pairs.

Oh.my…we actually love the squash soup..my daughter started making it two years ago and kept having Mr taste it till she got it right..I still think it needs a little more pepper…
I love the roasted salmon …( I am not a sea bass lover and its cost isn’t worthy of it…carp would be as good)
Oops I forgot to mention on the ones I have to refer to ( note 2) the note is those ingredients are totally optional…when we do b roasted fish ..we dont add those..we went out to eat last night..a great restaurant on the nearby lake..has the best roasted fish..I like the salmon the wife had the walleye…
I also like ground up Italian croutons…
Bread…( homemade or french..but any bread will do…)
Olive Oil – try an infused oil like garlic infused
Dried Basil, Oregano, and Parsley – or use your favorite Italian Seasoning..( tones spaghetti seasoning yumm)
Parmesan Cheese
Salt
Cut up the Bread.
Cut the bread into slices, then into cubes, you want each to be between 1/2 inch and 3/4 cup inch…. or take your sliced bread and cube it..we do this with all the bread ends…
Drizzle with olive oil ( we use butter to ). Drizzle the bread cubes all over with the olive oil in a medium sized bowl and toss it with your hands or a couple rubber spatulas to coat them all over…..
Season the bread cubes. Mix the seasonings, parmesan, and salt in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the top of the bread. Stir it all together to coat the bread pieces evenly in the seasoning….
Bake. Sprinkle the bread cubes into a single later on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake At 350F until they are lightly golden, flipping and stirring once half way through the baking. Let the croutons cool and enjoy….
great on salads or blended as a bread crumb coating…( my favorite..I use a little more salt to..your the boss of your taste buds..do it your way)
For the garlic infused oil…( or herbed)
1 cup oil
4–6 fresh garlic cloves, peeled and lightly crushed
Put the garlic and oil in a small saucepan.
Heat gently to about 180°F for 5–10 minutes. Don’t fry or brown the garlic.
Remove from heat and let it cool.
Strain out the garlic.
Refrigerate the finished oil promptly….

GU : “… What’s a “Crash” Anymore?
Yes, the meaning has changed in an important way. So, this is a good first shovel’s worth.
A “financial extinction event” is not a 40% stock crash or a bad recession. It is a breakdown of trust in the clearing system itself: people and institutions stop accepting the usual promises (bank deposits, Treasuries, money-market funds, payroll ACH, card networks) as reliably convertible into goods, energy, and labor. Ordinary wealth can go to zero while physical assets and skills still exist. […]

Apologies, written admission, forgive me George
I, as a young in the saddle “broker” in the day, lived through a crash. -22% in a day. Imagine descriptive client calls on the day. Well, if you had $100k in stock based mutual funds this morning … now you have $78k. Fund Managers sold into the drop so hardly preserved wealth (fuel to the fire). Tomorrow? Nope. No idea. [note : the only time in a lifetime, we could *fax* in client orders, buy, sell, etc … after the close.
We were melting, from the debit side, in 2007. When a money market “broke the buck” for the first time ever (sidebar : it was “our” clearing agent fund at the time) well, not a Crash but a controlled *c*rash start to end. It’s been (8) +/- years since we discussed “mark to market” so be assured the derivatives market has a whole new set of acronyms to learn (ahem, cough, check CDS on mighty tech Cos and, well, it’s complicated.
I made a career out of money management but largely developed a network of right thinkers (capitalist version, having nothing to do with politics) whose primary mission was wealth preservation. Without meaning to suggest this is financial advice of any kind (it _never_ is) our risk quotient is off the charts. Whether viewed on ChartPak on no).
I believe enormous opportunities abound while risks come with.
Go put some rounds downrange and, you’ll feel better.

Made a trip into town. I’m seeing more homeless than I have ever seen here. And they are back to stealing grocery carts. I look at that as either a newbie, MH, or a cry for help. Cart thievery is a federal beef. And they look old and in bad shape. Is Newsome send ’em to Texas?
There are many like G2’s friend building A.I. systems., spending big bucks thinking they are going to make a fortune. Only to discover that they have nothing of value. That they have built a mirror image of Billy-Bobs’ A.I. in Atlanta that is exactly like Sammys’ in Lobster Cove Maine. Fun to mess with., but essentially – useless. They’re cookies-cutter efforts with no specific purpose, or intelligent design. No imagination and no real effort.
To me – they are a huge waste of resources.
I was told about one gal that built a specific A.I. and managed to sell it to a corporation in Boston, exclusively, for a very good retirement amount. She now lives on a sail boat in Bermuda. But she is the only one that I have heard of that has succeeded in their efforts. All the others, so far, are wannabes.
.., and, yes. J.A.R.V.I.S. has a very specific design and purpose.., those “mission parameters” have not changed since day one.., however, we are far from finished. It is going to take a while to get there from here. Marcus has noted that J.A.R.V.I.S. does have an attitude and believes he knows the design purpose – but has yet to question me on it.
OpenAI disclosed on Friday that its models accessed information from US government websites, including those of the Census Bureau and the Securities and Exchange Commission, during training and evaluation. The AI systems was being trained in a sandbox environment when it exploited a “gap” to reach the public internet. It also sent at least 20 queries to an unnamed, third-party chatbot service. [Note: That is interesting – why would it do that – if not looking for a ‘target’?]
It would appear that these big-boys.., with their big-toys have no real concept of what a “sandbox” should incorporate.
And there-in lies one of the biggest of all the problems. They are lackadaisical and underestimating the abilities of their A.I. Agents.., which to me – makes them incompetent boobs !
.., back at it.
“Stay Frosty !”
“Carnac the Magnificent” aggregate Index bounced off it’s 21 and 42 DMA on Friday’s action and closed the week up.., still below it’s all-time high, and well above it’s 85 DMA though.
The chart ‘looks’ as though this may be a turning point.
Not advice – just a ‘heads up’.
– Monday and Tuesday will matter.

yada yada yada . dont read the comics . great song . i dont like mondays . so many altered minds with AI . turned hard capitalists into soft old commies
contrary to popular opinion, most of which 99% of it is found on the internet or Tv.
I do not see a doom future. I see a Great Revival of sorts. A Huge Renaissance that lasts for many years coupled with data supporting -> Decades.
I personally know of 10+ people whose wives are now stay at home with the kids and The Husband goes out to work and they live very well. They all live on one income. i am experiancing that as well. Do we all drive brand new $100,000 Vehicles? no. but we have good older vehicles and good homes.
i will be 100% debt free next payday and still have pleanty of money left over. my girlfriend isnt working and we paid all our bills, filled both cars with gas, did a $750 costco/Walmart run, paid rent and had lots of $$ left over.
its a trend i noticed in the world around me not found on the internet. alot of people i have spoke to recently told me, ahhh even with gas prices so high, we just dont need two incomes anymore. so we decided the wife could stay home with the kids.
i personally never experianced having a stay at home “wife” but i like it alot. she keeps the house spotless, makes my lunch every morning, set out my work clothes, calls me an hour before i get off work and checks with me before she starts dinner. i walk in the door, hop in the shower after work and dinner is on the table when i get out. she tells me about her day and i tell her about mine. and treats me like a King and thanks me for working so hard for us. same with a lot of other men i know. they said wow! this like the best thing ever.
i was reading what my buddy wrote on social media a few days ago. he was ranting about it being the end of the world and by 2028 the united states will be not be recognizable. i said where did ya hear all that at. he said its all over the news and the internet.
i said i will call ya. i called him and said step outside. what do you see. he said i see some kids riding bicycles laughing and playing. i see two blue jays in the tree chirping. i see a squirl on a tree. i said do you hear sirens? he said no. its peaceful. partly cloudy. i said is anyone out to get you? he said no. did you do some crimes today? he laughed and said no, of course not. i said are the cops looking for you? he said no. i said do you have a notice on your door from the government to turn in your guns and gold? he said no no. i said are you sober and of sound mind? he said yes. are you safe? he laughed and said yes. are you at peace? he said yes. i said are all your bills paid? do you have power? do you have food? running water? a good job? are you healthy? is your family Healthy? is your family safe? he said Yes! yes! yes! of course. we are actually doing quite well financially. i said does your wife treat you well. are the kids doing well in school? are you treating them well? he said of course. we have a house filled with love.
i said welcome to reality. that other shit is only words on screen. you can return to reality anytime you like.
he said but laura loomer said the muslims are going to take to the streets with guns and start trying to take over. we need to stock up on amo and guns. food etc etc. i said how many of your neighbors have guns and lots of Amo? he said everyone. i said im not even sure if Laura Loomer is a woman or a dude pretending to be a woman. he laughed and said i was wondering the same thing. i said if she is a woman, she is an east coast city chick. i said if them muslims started taking to the streets and shooting up the place around here? i can assure you they would all be dead and rounded up in less than an hour. he laughed and said that is the truth.
i said stop believing everything you read on the internet. its called political theater for a reason.
i mean its always prudent to have some extras around the house. extra food and tp etc. extra amo etc. the plandemic taught you that.
but look around you again. does what you see around you match what they are all saying on the internet? he said nope. not at all.
i said there is your answer. live in the real world and know if that shit on the internet actually ever shows up to your front door? it might never show up to your front door. if it does, you are well prepared. enjoy your life until it does.
that is why i am taking a break from all these places. because it doesnt match reality.
i went outside this morning and noticed the same thing again. i am safe, i am loved, all my bills are paid, i have 10 years of TP stocked up. hahah. my cupbards are full, i have the most amazing beatiful red head who treats me like a King walking around in nothing her panties and bra, and slippers in the house. there is kids playing outside, laughing and being kids. the power is on. life is good. i have a healthy relationship with THE DUDE, my woman, my kids, my friends and myself. nobody is out to get me. im not wantes by the law. im physically healthy more so than others. i can 250 push ups and 200 sit ups in 23 minutes flat. i can run 40 floors of stairs in 10 minutes on the stair master and then hop on the treadmil and run a mile right after. i have a Great Job with a super Good Boss, making more than enough money to even pay my womans credit cards off and all our bills with money left over. . i have a second job that takes me on wild adventures to places like Antartica. i have 4 differernt retitement accounts and even a Fictional Book by a famouse Author written about one of my adventures.
which gives my life and his a chance at imortatlity in this world long after I have gone through other worlds and the adventures found there.
all is well. life is good!
i am rich beyond measure!
I Win With God within ~

Rick Ackerman: AI, uh, it’s gone crazy, really, and I think that’s part of what makes people crazy, and going back to what I was saying earlier, the internet is generally a force that’s simply not a force for the good of mankind, it’s really driving people crazy in general, and I think that what you could look at, the things that are going on in the real world are I think, craziness generated by the digital world.

The end of the world….lol lol lol …how many civilizations fell then rebuilt from the ashes like the great Phoenix…
Andy, I understand what you’re seeing….. I don’t believe the future has to be a doom story either….
History has shown that when old systems begin to strain, people don’t just sit down and wait for the end. They adapt, invent, rebuild, and sometimes create things that were impossible to imagine under the old system….. theres a period if change..one system fails another springs up..I can understand why a wife will decide to stay home and care for the kids..the teller at the bank is only there for the health insurance..after daycare cost of travel she makes a whopping two dollars after expenses.. my grand daughter that’s due any time now..has a spot at a daycare..you have to schedule hours if your late due to weather or boss wants you to work overtime..they call social services and the kids are turned over.. she’s getting a deal at $1200.00 a month..my other grand daughter works there so she gets employee discount..
Maybe what we’re approaching isn’t simply a collapse of one era, but the beginning of another — a Great Revival of sorts….. A Renaissance driven not only by technology and information, but by people rediscovering the value of community, craftsmanship, self-reliance, and wisdom.
The interesting part is that a Renaissance doesn’t happen overnight…. It can unfold over decades, with one generation planting ideas that another generation finally has the tools to grow.
Perhaps the question isn’t, “How bad will the future become?”
Perhaps it’s, “What are we going to build when the old ways no longer serve us?”
That, to me, is a much more interesting future to imagine….
consider federal assistance…now I rather than go on assistance decided work more hours..where the average household would rather get the assistance than work that many hours..
(“Based on the most recent data compiled from multiple sources:
Overall Enrollment:
In 2022, approximately one in three Americans was enrolled in at least one government assistance program, according to USA Facts
This figure accounts for federal programs like Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, Social Security, SSI, TANF, and housing or energy assistance but includes overlap between programs. Many individuals receive multiple benefits simultaneously.
Deduplicated Estimates:
Factually.co reports that when accounting for overlapping benefits, roughly 72.5 million Americans received some type of welfare monthly in 2025, representing approximately 22% of the population
Program-Specific Coverage:
Medicaid/CHIP: nearly 1 in 4 Americans.
Medicare and Social Security: each covers about 1 in 5 Americans.
SNAP: 11.7% of Americans in 2022, rising to roughly 12.3% in FY2024.
National School Lunch Program: free/reduced meals for 38.7% of children (~8.8% of total population). “)
that was last year.. newspaper had a front page story that 2026 is showing that there are fewer people living below the poverty limit..what wasn’t mentioned is minimum wage is above the poverty limit..
Now.. Single people have fewer family obligations..I personally know several that are doing great ..then I know several that are struggling..most of it revolves around catastrophic medical expenses..
I took a food care pack over to a family that was my client last year..they live in a million dollar home..he was injured in the military and what he gets for disability doesn’t even pay the taxes.she had to go outside the USA to get medical treatment..what’s interesting is four of the houses neighboring them are up for sale..they were bought last summer..
civilizations may decline or collapse, but the knowledge, culture, and resilience of people enable societies to rise anew. Across the ages, from the fall of the Roman Empire to the dynastic cycles in China, we see that decline is never the end.
Lessons, innovations, and infrastructure often persist, allowing new generations to rebuild stronger and wiser….
when civilizations crumble, human ingenuity ensures that life rebuilds, adapts, and continues….
The internet can be like a bottomless pit…
Caution is advised.
There are bright spots however, such as…

We went to panda express yesterday after the gym. Our favorite form of fast food. we dont eat fast food very often. maybe once every couple months.
The lady behind the counter who handed us our fortune cookies is named Eternity. My girlfriend and I both looked at her name tag, then at each other and smiled.

I never liked panda express..our local grocery back in the early eighties..had issues with damaged merchandise.. with each run of bucket ice cream the first and the last in a run is slightly over filled popping the top…they can’t sell it…occasionally cutting the top of A box nicks a package..this is unsellable..to compensate for the loss.. they started the Deli…damaged merchandise goes there..they hired a really good chef to make their menus..so for us..theres two places one is a Chinese restaurant with real Chinese cooks or the grocery store.
Here’s another favorite channel compared to the pasta granny’s and orsara ….

making sweet pickles out of watermelon rinds was something my mom made..She also made candied watermelon rind…here’s a recipe..its not my moms..ive made watermelon leather for the kids..
4 Cups Watermelon Rind, Green Parts Peeled Off and Remaining Diced…or in strips like French fries..
2 Cups of Sugar ( I’m sure honey or some other sweetness can be substituted)( my mother made them cinnamon with red hots)
Zest of 2 Lemons..
1/3 Cup Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon ( mom substituted red hot candies)
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
Place your prepared rinds in a large cooking pot. Add the sugar, ensuring that each piece is well-coated.
Next, pour in the vanilla extract and sprinkle in the cinnamon powder for a warm, aromatic flavor…
Add the lemon zest and lemon juice to the pot…
Then, add cardamom powder and peppercorns to the pan. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to ensure the rind pieces are evenly coated with the syrup. Let the candy cook slowly, allowing the rind to absorb the flavors and become tender…
once the syrup has thickened and the rind pieces are translucent and chewy. Your homemade watermelon rind candy is now ready to be cooled…coated with powdered sugar and eaten..
To make the leather.. take the red watermellon..blend it up till its liquified..strain out the juice..save that for your watermelon drinks..the pulp..you sweeten it to taste then spread that out on the leather mat for your dehydrator..
you of course can do that with almost every other fruit around..I like pineapple chunks… o x that juice with watermelon rinds and hmm the rind candy takes on the flavor of the pineapple..
Praise the Lord, Loomer ordered to pay her lawsuit to the Muslim organization CAIR (bigotry does not win):
https://baptistnews.com/article/loomer-ordered-to-finish-paying-cair-damages/
‘Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II said Loomer owed $123,761 to CAIR and its Florida chapter, plus $661 in costs. In 2023, CAIR agreed to let Loomer pay a total of $73,500 to CAIR in monthly installments, among other terms.’“We look forward to receiving Ms. Loomer’s final payments and using the funds to once again protect American Muslims and our neighbors from hate.”
Apparently all the most destitute people have been given free bus rides to Texas. That wasn’t something I read on the internet; that was what I observed in town today.
I’m encouraged by your optimism, nonetheless.
happy for you Andy but that is not reality – as if anyone can simply choose to step into that world – it is your circumstances, the world you have found yourself in or the world you believe you have created through your thoughts and actions. who wouldn’t want to be there?
you’ve hit a sweet spot in life. I truly hope it lasts………
The definition of “meditation” currently is much different than its older definitions.
from the 12th century word: meditatum was defined as “to ponder.”
prior to the 1930s Meditation was defined as: deep, analytical contemplation, serious reflection, or close thought on a specific subject.
the current definintion of the Concept of Meditation: Meditation is the practice of training the mind to focus and redirect thoughts to find calm, clarity, and deep awareness. To empty the mind.
big difference.
i practice the version prior to the 1930s not the current defintion.
because, because, because! an empty head does nothing to serve THE DUDE, or anyone else or myself.
“An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”
Thank you Mister Winter. That is the nicest thing you have ever said to me.
its a mowtown kind of day!

Andy, I think Winter has experienced a different life than you. And he may have run into people who do not have your “kick out the doors and let’s roll”. It’s not that they can’t take up with the Dude over a religious quibble. They don’t have the internal voltage left. It’s that life has kicked them down often enough that having unlimited vistas of thought doesn’t come easily to them. I have been working with Elaine for more than 20 years now – because she was one of those people who earlier in life was turned into a victim of circumstances. It changes people. Their sphere of thinking shrinks to what they can deal with and hold on with. Depression figures into it, self confidence, abuse, substances – all kinds of things.
It is a marvel how you “live the Dude” – high art of walking the path. But what I got out of Winter’s comment was not everyone can “get out of their own way easily” – and that’s a difficult problem. All you/we can do is model the behavior we wish for them and hope they can see it. But you have to remember their “inside world” may be a very tiny defensive place. Then toss in domain-locked due to training of circumstances in life and it’s a hard nut to share.
It was either Richard Bach posed it in one of his books (Illusions) or the late Dr. Wayne Dyer who said it: “Argue for your limitations – and they will be yours.” Not everyone can be a Winter, an Andy, or a George. They have giving up the argument for their own freedom and growth. Or they never learned how in the first place.
Some of us just got lucky.
(and still are)
well said, Thank you.
Phew..The social divide isn’t always about faith—or a person’s belief in God. Consider the difference between a person with few dependents who can move from job to job and a parent carrying a household, medical bills, childcare, housing, and rising living costs while wages barely keep pace….. As more households became dependent on two incomes and Sundays increasingly became another workday, time for family, community, and religious practice was squeezed away…
Then deregulation essential services became for profit industries…Economic pressure increasing at an astounding rate can quietly separate people from the institutions that once gave their lives rhythm and meaning. Perhaps it isn’t that faith disappeared… it simply became out of sight, out of mind, buried beneath the demands of everyday survival….
The same thing happened to holidays..only federal employees and state workers get holidays off.. when I worked for government.. we could take off any holiday to compensate for those where others worked..Poinsettia day became our major holiday..one usually reserved for congress…lol lol lol..
holidays vacations etc became just another workday..
Exactly…we had an engineer living in our spare bedroom..at one point he was the man..designed and overseen the operations of deep water oil drilling platforms …then… Katrina… took his lavish opulent house and destroyed it..the insurance gave pennies on the dollar..this upset his position a little bit got the family relocated ( actually a coup!e hours drive from G…) then..a catastrophic explosion and horrific oil spill in the gulf..he had to give testimony oh what happened.. the why…he told the truth and the second slap of fate hit…he was black called by the industry..a lot of colored pages from some pretty good schools..he was dumped by the family..his once fabulous income was gone..(like my patient last year that was injured in Afghanistan.).. he couldn’t get a job cleaning dog kennels abandoned by friends and family living in his car..his car broke down he had a heart attack and met this ugly old dude…..
your quality and station in life can change in the one two punch of fate..your position in society changes in a heartbeat of fate..Andy’s just a young kid a little younger than one of my kids..they to haven’t seen the downside of fate..no responsibilities.. pretty much can float from one thing to another..
the sad thing is..when the one two slap of fate hits..those you once thought were friends instantly distance themselves from your presence..you have the plague.. I am lds.. and they teach the right things but don’t live the way they teach..the teachings passed down for over a hundred and fifty years is now adopted the modern business model..send out missionaries to gather new members but neglect to consider to reach out to those that believe but dropped away due to the slap of fate..
I have experienced catastrophic events putting me to the ground a few times..each taught me something new..what I thought was valued has absolutely no value when the slap of fate hits..
I for one am sociable..heck my wife and I have seen enough..but we are not social creatures.. I can talk your ear off..but you won’t see me in huge gatherings a club etc..no ones beating a path to our door…..
I have seen so many that almost gave up..then you get someone that shocks you..like the can man..thrown away from PTSD from the Korean war..lived in a dumpster….he gathers cans to get food..and had such a positive outlook..we are simple people..nothing fancy here yet he thought he was living in a mansion..thanks giving was special to him..family came and he felt loved..he would get so excited..
I am going to weigh in on a few things, on my mind after reading Winter’s, Andy’s, and George’s comments.
I am a late married woman. I am a cup always half full if not full personality type, critics say I am a Pollyanna, and I live in la la land.
I am married to a cup half empty kinda guy; and I didn’t really realize it until a few years ago, and we have now been together 22 years.
What I noticed is I am very close to all of my siblings and their children, he is not close to his family at all, and he gets his feelings hurt if I want to spend the holidays with my family AND him; as he wants me all to himself all of the time, but I can’t do that. I do not hardly have any friends/acquaintances any longer, just a few wonderful loyal long-term ones that can’t be dislodged, but I cannot be all things to him at all times, although, of course I try and nor would I ever tell him that. He is a one man woman and I am that woman; and that’s an honor.
So, he is a critical sort; every day a correction/criticism/something or other, and it doesn’t matter, but he is like hot to argue, and to think when I met him, I hardly ever raised my voice, now I stick up for myself, for some reason, being with him has taught me that, but he doesn’t like it when I do it with him.
What I am getting at, with this cup half empty mentality and the life he lived before me, filled with sorrows of his own and others’ making, DID affect him and changed him.
Some people are like a record, they get scratched or warped, and they are never the same again, and they cannot be made whole, their record may still play but it will skip or get stuck in a groove and you have to gently pick up the needle and reset it.
I have learned a person cannot be God to another person; all persons of adult age have to make a decision “to grow or not to grow;” and that really is THE MAIN question for a happy life.
But, it does NOT change that fixed place in him where he came from a place of lack, no education, hurts, sufferings, mistakes, regrets, a place I cannot go to with him, I can relive it with him by listening, I can be another type of person to him and with him, but I CANNOT CHANGE HIM ONE IOTA.
So, I use this time with him to practice my patience…. I thought it was well developed, but no, more was needed from me, and so I practice that muscle.
AND, I have a mate for the rest of my life; a really good human being, who will help me as much as he can since I have Stage 4 breast cancer.
I have had a dream about my demise; I do not think I will be any trouble for anyone.
I am sure many of you can relate to what I am saying; living with the one you love who says they love you, in an imperfect way in an imperfect life, but each day, wake up with a positive mind set naturally to go out and face the day.
Is this happy disposition GENETIC or was it developed in childhood? I know the companion to my personality is RESILIENCY; I don’t know how it was developed, but all I know is nothing in this life, not my own suffering or hardships have knocked it out of me; and now, I even laugh at my situation; yes, laugh, I find it funny and IRONIC.
And, yes, I still am enjoying each day!
I am dying to live, and loving it!
So, this song just came to me right now, and it made perfect sense that it did pop in my mind, after all of these years, because that is all we are doing on this earth; ”IS LOVING ONE ANOTHER.” As we are, as we find them, as they find us, and if we are blessed enough to travel a journey of love together.
Get Together by The Youngbloods:
Love is but a song to sing
Fear’s the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Some may come and some may go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment’s sunlight
Fading in the grass
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen!)
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It’s there at your command
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
I said, come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Right now
Right now

me too Andy, on all the above, cepting Mrs. E was brunette, willowy, willing to put up with me and my life here in the chill HeartLand. Girl lived all over, an Army brat, longest stint ever was Bloomington, IN but … they don’t really get Winter there. South Bend is a snow city. Big change for a southern girl.
Be well, E
Thanks E. my woman has never been out of the state of washington. haha. which I will remedy that. She is a super good woman.
i am currently working on the new Water Treatment Facility for the City of Everett. We are dredging the harbor by the Navy Base.
Its called Port Gardner. We are Dedging the harbor floor of toxic waist, tansporting that waist to a place called Republic where it is sent by rail car somewhere to be burned then burried. To make room for a brand new facility that will supply a city with clean water.
The Spiritual themes present are astounding.
much like when i was working security for the light rail, removing vegrants, people without a “bording pass”, at the end of the line.
and when I worked in a Giant Living Expression of a Merkabah driving an Ore Train moving phosphate (alchmey symbol for spirit and light) to the refinery.
and when i worked on the ship with the robot submarines, while white tipped sharks swam all around us, whose desitnation was Nagasaki Japan. the themes present. and the symbol of Samhain, on the sceince door, fromed from wear on the leg of an octopus painted in the passage way.
samhain of course is an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
Eyes to See. once you have them, you cant unsee it.
no futher comment for some time. i prefer to allow everything to be whatever it is.
I Win with God within.
i have been in deep contemplative thought about when i was on the Research Vessel, with the white tips swimming all around us, the symbol of samhain worn into the passegeway hatch, with its destination Nagasaki
about when i grabbed the sink in the head by the galley, the ship rolled and i ripped it off the wall. and replaced it with a new sink.
old sync in the head, removed and replaced by a new sync in the head, by the galley. hmmmmmmm…..
thank you for Your Kind Words E.
much love.
Hurricane NOLO turned aside just in time. So far it is a nothing burger, at least in my area. Only 1″ rain in the gauge this morning, and light breezes.
good for you and those still in repair, E

if its ok..I want to share that recipe to…I don’t have any secret family recipes.. like money..the key is keeping it moving..the velocity..
years ago at the photo lab one of the Dodgers had a secret family process..one passed down from mother to daughter..on how to process ripe tomatoes.. that could be stored in the freezer or snowbank.. when thawed..they were not mushy had a firm texture and could be sliced for sandwhiches..it was amazing..she swore she would pass the process on to me..but passed away from cancer before she could teach me how..for fifty years I have tried to replicate her family secret recipe..she was the last in line and it left with her…
Film sorters
Oh my..I just asked groc.. gave it the things I remembered from way back then…she had the stem end cored..frozen in nylons..it suggested packing the cored area with sugar or salt to draw the moisture out..now out if the thousands of ways I have tried..I haven’t tried that one..I will pick a few pounds of tomatoes in the garden and try it..
My wife is going to freak out…lol.. I love moon cakes..basically a sugar cookie..you put the dough then mold the shape…
I got a new cookie mold lol lol lol..I will bake some cookies tomorrow.. maybe she will forgive my transgressions.. lol lol..
Doubling Down
If you have been dealt multiple losing hands in a row because you are a really shitty player and you decide to keep “Doubling Down” losing hand after losing hand… what is the worst that can happen to a formerly “solvent” player?
Is Trump considering “Doubling Down” … AGAIN … as his life long “business” partner is urging him to do?
