Peace with the Robots?  A Life Resource Planner to better use global resources?  Sounds a bit sci-fi, to be sure, but we may have no choice. Today on the UrbanSurvival side, I offer a few public comments about the Lifealyzer concept,  That is:  Are we approaching a juncture where governments will need to cede social … Read More

Our work has been indicating for some time (at least if you subscribe to our Peoplenomics.com site) that the markets are likely to place themselves in a “break-either-way” position by the time we get out to the congressional mid-term circus three weeks from today. What hasn’t been clear is just how things will work out … Read More

We begin the week with a short lecture to antifa.  Hopelessly misguided as events in the socialist city-state of Portland this weekend revealed (again).  Please take the time to read how “Bear spray, bloody brawls at Patriot Prayer ‘law and order’ march in Portland” worked out. In particular, we find the sham police of Portland … Read More

According to plan, the visit of my nearly life-long buddy – the major –  the fellow who’s my “brother of a different mother” will wrap up today. When you’ve been friends with someone for 66-years (admittedly longer than most readers have been alive) there are a number of topics that generally come up during a … Read More

Yet another week of chaotic markets.  So this morning we’ll give you some ideas on how to noodle your way through figuring out what comes next. It’s an imperfect process (or we’d all be rich by now) but any improvement over 50-50 seems worth pursuing… After a few headlines and such… More for Subscribers       ||| … Read More

Adventures of a rambling mind:  The other day I chanced to look at a piece of tile that Elaine had placed on the window sill of the guest room bath. That got me to thinking about a few other such tiles we’ve collected over the years.  A few from cruises we’ve been on and such. … Read More

These are interesting (trips-to-the-bathroom-inducing) times to be trading the markets.  Another 500-odd Dow points to the downside Thursday reminds us of several points average people will miss.  If I may? We are reminded that the fiercest forces of all are Mother Nature’s.  The remnants of hurricane Michael certain underscore that. Political assumptions are all mostly … Read More

Sure, Florida is an awful mess this morning in the wake of the hurricane hit Wednesday.  The storm is moving off to the northeast, vastly diminished. But we may have a bigger problem:  The Market.  Which blew through 800+ points yesterday for reasons that aren’t clear-enough to be apparent to the MSM. As you know, … Read More

Yes…today’s “deep thinking” piece is about mathematical modeling. But the really good news is that we will use hardly any mathematical terminology.  Other than some of the most basic functions anyone acquainted with Excel (and clones) can already deal with. Because we are in the “great hunter” mode – trying to spot the tracks of … Read More

The other day, I happened to be looking at some data on what preppers were really looking for on the web that landed ’em here on UrbanSurvival.  And I kid you not, these are some of the questions people are really asking: #1. How do I trim too many Hobbies? My oh my…do we have … Read More

Burton Malkiel’s book, “A Random Walk down Wall Street: The Time-tested Strategy for Successful Investing,” made the case long ago that as “investment tools” darts work pretty well. Others have said much the same thing; noting that on any given day, the odds of making money in the market are a lot closer to 50-50 … Read More

Welcome to National Political Correctness is Rotting America Day around here.  Because this is a holiday (no bills in the mail, though) to honor Christopher Columbus and the claiming of the continent by Europeans. At issue in the demonstrations to come today will be things like “The Explorer’s Place in  History.”  And naturally, since any … Read More

A tale about Obsolete Knowledge today – a very instructive tale, especially if you’re over 40 and particularly if you think about the En d of the World.. Since my friend of 65-years (‘the major‘) is down visiting, part of my preps for his visit included downloading some Ham Radio Extra Class test prep questions.  … Read More
