Early futures were still pointing up when I first checked on them about 3:30 AM. Apparently, our “pre-holiday” blow-off is continuing. Although the mania formerly known as crypto mania is missing the boat. BTC was under $29,000 last time I checked.
Here’s the latest from the Economics Desk of Rip N. Reed:
GDP
Important to Big Picture a bit, first: Federal Reserve has resumed its draw down of the monetary base. With less money in circulation, interest rates go up in reaction since the demand for money is still high.
Amidst all this, we have a GDP report which should also be up a bit since it’s a dollarized number. It’s not.
“Real gross domestic product (GDP) decreased at an annual rate of 1.5 percent in the first quarter of 2022 (table 1), according to the “second” estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the fourth quarter, real GDP increased 6.9 percent.”
The impact on the markets won’t be known until nu-think spreads over the trading day. We should not be surprised to see a major decline late today or tomorrow. Anyone holding a long position over a holiday has to be crazy, as we see it.
Corporate Profits
Let’s watch carefully and see if Walk-Back Joe can stick his foot in it, shall we? Will he take credit or place blame for these results?
“Profits from current production (corporate profits with inventory valuation and capital consumption adjustments) decreased $66.4 billion in the first quarter, in contrast to an increase of $20.4 billion in the fourth quarter (table 10).
Profits of domestic financial corporations decreased $28.6 billion in the first quarter, compared with a decrease of $1.3 billion in the fourth quarter. Profits of domestic nonfinancial corporations decreased $21.1 billion, in contrast to an increase of $5.0 billion. Rest-of-the-world profits decreased $16.7 billion, in contrast to an increase of $16.8 billion. In the first quarter, receipts increased $21.3 billion, and payments increased $38.0 billion.
After this lackluster mess, Dow futures were up 144 and the S&P was up 15. Some people just keep doing the same old thing, regardless of the logic behind it.

Consigliere Note
(I almost posted this as a Biden Sex Note – since the Sanctions Farce is in full cosplay…and there’s some screwing going on….) From the top, then:
Triple A gas price survey (bookmark for future reference) says the national average is $4.60 going into the weekend from here. Diesel? $5.538 per gallon.
My consigliere (who should have been working on actual billable cases) took a moment to explain why gas prices are so high. I will paraphrase, since my memory takes a hike overnight lately…
“Yeah, people don’t understand Biden and his blame of the energy companies very well. He’s totally clueless.
The reason prices are high is that we have added another middleman in the sale of oil energy products.”
“You want to explain that for the interminably slow?”
“Sure: Go back and read the story about Marc Rich who was one of the last people Bill Clinton pardoned. You can Wiki it for your readers…”
(So, we will…)
“Marc Rich (born Marcell David Reich; December 18, 1934 – June 26, 2013) was an international commodities trader, hedge fund manager, financier, businessman, and alleged financial criminal. He founded the commodities company Glencore, and was later indicted in the United States on federal charges of tax evasion, wire fraud, racketeering, and making oil deals with Iran during the Iran hostage crisis. He fled to Switzerland at the time of the indictment and never returned to the United States.[2] He received a widely criticized presidential pardon from U.S. President Bill Clinton on January 20, 2001, Clinton’s last day in office; Rich’s ex-wife Denise had made large donations to the Democratic Party.”
I asked him to continue the explanation:
“The way commodity guys – like Rich – made piles of money (millions and millions) was by laundering oil. See, at present, there are Sanctions on. BUT a European trader can buy Russian oil (Europe wasn’t stupid enough to ban Russian oil – that’s a Biden bumble). Then European traders re-sell it.
What is happening is the Europeans buy the oil from Russia, stick it in a tank somewhere *(or just reflag a tanker of convenience) and then – since it’s no longer Russian oil (maybe Belgian or German oil) THEN it gets sold to U.S. refiners. See the added mark-up?
Anyone talking about how the additional “sales shuffle” works? No. Marc Rich once loaded a tanker in Galveston, sailed it around for a few days, and then brought it back to Galveston, if I remember the story right.”
Yes, Biden’s an idiot which is bad enough. Worse is he’s surrounded by handlers who may be cutting a fat hog on such horrors as “sanctions” which not only add cost here, but set up famine globally. Way to go, Slow Joe!
Is it November 2024 yet?
Still skeptical of our labeling this as Biden’s Sanction Farce? Let me ask what was it supposed to do? Claims: Wreck Russia’s economy. Brace for more ugly reality here: Russia’s Economy Is Tanking—but the Ruble Is Soaring – WSJ. Yes, Idiot. they’re getting GOLD.

ATR: Load ‘Em Up
Online orders are in. A little over $572 for the weekend food and beverage run today.
If you can do it, today’s likely to have fewer items out of stock than tomorrow. And shorter lines.
On the other hand, bakery goods may not be as fresh come Sunday. But, seriously, microwaves have changed the “day old bread” market, though I haven’t found a good book on that yet.
Out in the shop, the paint set has arrived for the model ships Ure is planning to build when the “heat is on” this summer. Small projects bench has already been covered in the ShopTalk Sunday columns.
But what we haven’t talked about yet? Muntz Metal.
Which is? This rather long snip from Wikipedia (from here) lays out a dandy tale:
“Muntz metal is a form of alpha-beta brass with about 60% copper, 40% zinc and a trace of iron. It is named after George Fredrick Muntz, a metal-roller of Birmingham, England, who commercialised the alloy following his patent of 1832.[1][2]
Known both as Muntz Metal and Yellow Metal,[3] the alloy must be worked hot and is used today for corrosion resistant machine parts. Alpha-beta (also called duplex) metals contain both a crystal structure that is face-centered cubic, while the other phase is body-centered cubic.
Its original application was as a replacement for copper sheathing on the bottom of boats, as it maintained the anti-fouling abilities of the pure copper at around two thirds of the price. It became the material of choice for this application and Muntz made his fortune. It was found that copper would gradually leach from the alloy in sea water, poisoning any organism that attempted to attach itself to a hull sheathed in the metal. Thus, it was also used to sheathe the piles of piers in tropical seas, as a protection against teredo shipworms, and in locomotive tubes. After successful experimentation with the sheathing Muntz also took out a patent for bolts of the same composition. These too proved a success as they not only were cheaper but also very strong and lasted longer.
A notable use of Muntz Metal was in the hull of the Cutty Sark.[4]
My 60-odd years back model mentor (“Do the standing rigging first”) fellow (in pre-revolution Portland, OR) was never too happy with the color of ship bottoms. Most modelers simply put on a coat of copper colored paint and considered it done.
But not so. If the ship is fresh from “the yard” (or being careened) the look was closer to where the yellow and copper mix puts it. To mimic the effects of seawater, I may hit it with an airbrush of light brownish-green-gray, but the models aren’t even here yet. So lots of time to think about them.
Point is? Models of Cutty Sark with a shiny copper bottom are technically wrong, depending on where in the ships useful life (1869–1895) the ship is modeled to.
In our never-ending search for minutia, turns out one bottle of flat yellow and a bottle of copper (both Testor’s model enamel) should be “close enough for home museum use…”
Having solved the paint issue, I’ve moved on to looking for two cheap plastic models to combine and hang off my office ceiling. One would be a sailing ship and on it would be cobbled (in a steampunk way) the wings of a multi-engine bomber aircraft.
The joke being? Someone seeing it suspended in mid-air might reasonably ask (have never seen a punked sailing ship with four engines on wings) “What is that?
To which I’d grin and tell ’em: “Why that’s the Flying Dutchman.”
What? Humor getting a bit to obscura for you, is it?

Yes, the old “new gas- old gas” scam of the mid 70’s.
Marc Rich, and his partner “Pinky” Green were the original EXPERTS at changing a commodity’s origin by dint of moving the paperwork through multiple different countries and companies. His poor secretaries must have been busy busy busy typing all those documents (reportedly on a number of different typewriters of course so the type didn’t match up from document to document).
OLD oil … yep in the day you could buy it for about $3.50 a barrel since it was government price controlled by the US Government, but NEW oil could be sold at the market price, which was around $10-$12/barrel. Merely by a bit of paperwork Mark and Pinky changed old oil to new oil, often not even moving it out of it’s storage tank in Texas or Louisiana. Gets pumped into the tank as OLD oil, gets pumped out of the tank as NEW oil. VOILA … a $7+/bbl profit on each barrel!!
Of course he and Pinky also reportedly loaded up some tankers, had them sail around a bit, and then redocked where suddenly whereas when they left the dock full of OLD oil when they redocked a few days later they were filled with NEW oil!! The middle age chemists who kept trying to TRANSFORM various different metals into gold (but never succeeded) would have been AMAZED at the “magic” that Mark and Pinky were able to achieve with oil. OLD to NEW done merely by placing the oil in a tanker and sailing it around the gulf for a few days. Clearly MAGIC!!
OH … and don’t forget … Marc Rich’s ex wife Denise was one of the largest contributors to the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, which took place BEFORE Clinton left office, and when she and her friend were sworn before Congress and directly asked if that was a payoff for Marc’s and Pinky’s Prsidential Pardon (given just 6 hours before Clinton left the White House) both she and her friend (ex DNC Finance Chairwoman) pled the FIFTH. (OH, OH …. she later gave up her US citizenship, got Austrian citizenship I think it is, so she wouldn’t have to disclose her overseas banks accounts and business dealings)
What a cast of characters …. the Russians today are just students at the feet of the great master himself, good ol Marc.
When I have ….OLD GAS… everyone runs @scot wiseman…
That is when you have to practice you evil I am disgusted at you stare.. sneak out and old silent warrior.. and then look disgustingly at some other poor guy in the corner….
My favorite old gas story is the sinkers.. you know the ones.. you have to shake your leg to get it to fall out LOL LOL.. then as it mixes with oxygen it slowly rises to nose level..
Well I was stocking shelves.. bottom shelves.. dam I had a sinker coming out.. and knew If I dropped it there.. I would be miserable for a while.. so like to take care of it .. I checked the halls.. up and down.. it was the slow time of the night.. so I got up walked to the end of the Isle.. dropped it .. then went back to stocking and facing the shelves..
when around the corner comes this young couple with a baby in the cart.. the woman stops.. gets this bug eyed look on her face of shock.. grabs the kid out of the kiddy seat.. sticks its butt up to her nose and does a big presidential Joe .. takes a deep audible sniff of the baby.. putting the child gently back in the seat.. she promptly turns to her husband and starts beating on him.. yelling at him that she told him he was never to do that while they were in the store shopping.. all the way down the isle he as saying but honey it wasn’t me.. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Hello Out of Work Steve…You mentioned on Tuesday that “Gasoline prices seem to be plateauing”. You are right, but it is a temporary illusion. Don’t count on it long-term. This is not a situation that will fix itself. The IDIOT in the White House just stated, “Here’s the situation. And when it comes to gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over we’ll be stronger, and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over”.
He is a part of the Green New Deal agenda, just like that great con artist that went from Community Organizer in Chicago to the White House in 3 years…Muslim Barack Hussein Obama. Kill America is their only Agenda. Yesterday Obama had the audacity to tweet while we are thinking about the kids in Uvalde remember George Floyd on this second anniversary of his death. Yep remember that drug user/dealer/counterfeiter with the long rap sheet. You are still a rabble rouser Hussein.
Both Obama and Biden have helped Commie China just like the Clintons have. They all want Marxism by continually dividing this country.
Remember Obama’s Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, stated years ago that U.S. gas prices should be aligned with Europe’s which at the time were $8-10/gallon equivalent.
What people do not realize, especially the young generation under 30 that has been so brainwashed, is that this is a planned effort to get the world to buy into the CARBON LIE and go green so they can illegally steal property and track people. 100% Green Energy is what they want!! And it will never happen. Never. It is all a total con by a bunch of globalists. They want to control the world.
They curse carbon- “we must eliminate carbon; we must be carbon neutral.” Do they realize that CARBON-12 has 6 Protons, 6 Neutrons, and 6 Electrons? 666. The Mark of the Beast? Carbon composes 18.5% of the human body, only number 2 behind Oxygen. Carbon is not the problem. Methane is you Davos fools.
The gasoline crisis is all part of the Davos Agenda created by a bunch of idiots that confuse being a Billionaire with Intelligence. The Alibaba CEO talked at Davos about putting a chip in you to track your carbon footprint. The evil Pfizer CEO talked about swallowing a chip hidden in a pill to track you and make sure you are taking your medicine, and for other nefarious purposes like what you are eating.
And that arrogant little Zionist that is the right-hand man of Klaus Schwab, Yuval Noah Harari, Professor of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, stated at Davos that all people should have a chip under their skin. The little sawed-off fart thinks that the majority of people on the planet should be eliminated except for elitists like him. He has the arrogance to actually state that on a continual basis. They think we are here to serve them and their Banks and crooked Corporations. And that they will further control crooked countries like the faded British Empire-England, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and other crooked countries like Ukraine and Israel and the U.S.
Their goal is to control the world. Should be interesting because that is the same goal of the Chinese Commies.
Klaus Schwab had the arrogance to state at Davos: “the world has to be run by us, by you in this room.” Where and who is this Austrian accent speaking freako, and where did he come from? Has he ever been elected by the people to anything? No! He is a front man for the Rothschilds…the same people that fronted Soros and all the Central Banks worldwide…Soros is the same person that fronted Obama…who dances on puppet strings when pulled while he is controlling Slobbering Joe Biden. Now do you see why they want the guns from the Americans. They cannot take us down if we are all armed.
Why do they always hit churches and schools? Read about MK Ultra! Read Behold a Pale Horse by William Cooper. It makes it easier to take over the country with their lies and friends—the Chinese Commies, and Marxists like Tetros the clown that runs WHO and is an admitted Marxist who wants to take over the world for the Chinese by using Pandemic lies and lockdowns like we just went through.
The time is coming soon when all hell is going to break lose. It is going to go kinetic. Poland is sending troops into Ukraine. Poland is part of NATO. If Russia responds and fights back against the Poles then every NATO country is obligated to fight. They just keep poking that Russian bear who has been rather mild with the Ukrainians. No shock and awe. Kyiv still has shops open. And we still have military aged men flowing through our borders by the millions. The make U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. take a Covid test, but all those illegals get in free with no tests.
Get ready folks.
“You mentioned on Tuesday that “Gasoline prices seem to be plateauing”. You are right, but it is a temporary illusion. Don’t count on it long-term.”
great post WTHS…. there is a method to their madness….in the past how it worked was.. push the price up.. usually just before a holiday.. then let it sit for a bit.. the shock and awe of the increase.. is absorbed and then the plateau of them..
then they drop it a penny or two.. the relief of the decline.. makes people feel as if there is some relief..
Then they push it up a little bit higher than it was at the shock and awe stage.. plateau.. then decline a bit.. but not below what the top number of the last shock and awe segment..
that has been the pattern for years and years.. I remember when it was 67.9 per gallon.. nothing special.. I was tired figured I would wait till morning to get gas.. got home we had goulash .. I was watching the news when Reagan got on and said he deregulated gasoline.. they could charge you less per gallon.. ( the week before it was at 55.9 ) in my mind I said hell yes.. get it back down to a quarter a gallon.. LOL
the next morning.. it was 109.9 a gallon.. that is when the realization that hey.. they could have charged less all along.. then it was deregulated.. the same thing with health insurance.. up until deregulation everyone had insurance.. now you have to have a full time job to even think about getting it and heck.. you had better not ever been sick before.. they really stick it to you..
Now on the fuel.. the owner of the station I get gas at.. has already been told to expect ten dollar a gallon gas.. its coming.. the up down swing a little bit at a time.. give it a week then it will pop up again.. then plateau then down up.. prices will go the same way.. the cost of production is going up and deliveries..
Cheapest gas I ever bought was 19.9 cents on U.S. 150 in Southern Indiana. Gas war with the station across the street; race to the bottom. But driving my ol ’53 Olds 88 when I kicked in the 4 BBL I could literally see the gas gauge heading to “E”.
So the gas station and I had a close relationship.

Excellent book and IMO everyone who visits here should read it if you haven’t already. It’s a keeper.
I downloaded “Behold a Pale Horse – Bill Cooper – Rare” years ago. I couldn’t find it in a search on YT just now but it is on Rumble along with the audio book and BitChute. I remember in one presentation he was doing in an auditorium he flat out said that there will be school shootings and other things that, by the time I viewed the video, had already come true. He really was a “dangerous” character.
@Bill where on rumble is the audio book.. I would love to download that for the car.. love to listen to books while I drive..
I get what ten books from the library of congress a month to.. love that.. don’t really like the magazines.. have you ever tried to listen to a playboy magazine.. it just isn’t the same LOL LOL LOL of course everyone always bought them for the articles LOL LOL LOL

Dam WTHS – you seem to be in a very generous and giving mindset this AM. Yuval Harari = “little sawed off fart” – talk about overwhelming kindness, consideration and flowery prose.
Dam man, do you put out scraps/slop every morning for the feral hogs in west texas ?? Or be praising beato for his fervent support of confiscating Ure guns. or just sending donations/support to the White House senior living center renovation Fund at http://WWW.IBGoneSoonly.Gov?
Pennsyltucky – we got Ureallz back, as do the Kentucky long rifles..not mention Ohio & PA 1st Reg.’s.
* Fusion center fodder *** rodgers rangers – will ride again..
* Line was crossed & “The Fuse” has been lit as the the new NRG’s are pouring in on hot rails while new insync freqs. from Mars/Jupiter cunjunction..conjunction junction, whats Ure function, are newly arriving..
“They curse carbon- “we must eliminate carbon; we must be carbon neutral.”
What I never understood @WTHS is why they don’t like coal.. for me.. it would cost 80.00 to heat my whole house for a cold winter if I lived close to a coal mine.. .. yup eighty dollars.. and by making a reburn fire pot.. where the exhaust is burned to.. it is a clean burn..
My problem is in getting it.. the transportation costs are horrible.. now if I had a gasifier.. I could produce electricity to.. from the same coal..
I do believe in using all forms of energy.. but do it smartly.. we will always need the power plants.. but if you put in solar towers starting at the furthest point at every sub station.. and work back to the power plant.. you not only secure the grid.. but have a great deal of power..
I for one have two tons of coal being delivered.. lucky for me.. a friend drives by the coal company and will pick up a few pallets.. a few for them and a few for me..
I do not believe in nuclear power plants.. sure it works good but the cost and complications from disposal and threats of a breakdown are not conceivable .. ( fukishima )
I would love to see someone make a mixture pellet using the waste fines.. of coal.. like three parts of saw dust.( also trash) and one part of coal dust (also trash) make a multi fuel pellet.. for multi fuel stoves.. good hot heat and cheap to make.. sell hundreds of tons of it I am sure.. cost is cheap enough.. all from waste..
anyway I digress.. I love coal myself and I use it… wind to.. not many consider that if they used the funds for three of those huge wind turbines to build the solar towers.. there would be very little infrastructure changes that would have to be made.. and the power output potential would be astronomical in comparison.. the same with promoting solar for home owners.. stabilize the power costs.. for a ten year period.. to those that put them on the homes to justify the expense of installing them.. for the cost of what one wind turbine.. you would have what is it now close to ten thousand megawatts of power per hour potential.. it is in my opinion a no brainer.. now if it is CO2 they are concerned over.. then green scape.. we loose what is it fifty seven acres a minute to urban expansion.. and it takes fourteen trees per auto and seven per human.. so put up co2 filters on every street light.. easy peasy easy to maintain and would generate more money with replacement filters.. oh well this is an old old old rant.. the same as Air wells.. if you have a water problem.. why in the heck don’t they have air wells.. simple solutions from old civilizations of the past..
““They curse carbon- “we must eliminate carbon; we must be carbon neutral.”
What I never understood @WTHS is why they don’t like coal.”
It is not about the carbon. The majority of the folks at Davos know carbon is essential to life on this rock, and without sufficient atmospheric CO2, we all die.
It is about money — and control.
“Carbon” was the easiest trace atmospheric gas for con artists to glom onto and turn into a “bogeyman” because everyone who’s beyond 4th Grade science has heard of it, and most people know every animal exhales CO2 (but they know little else.) They couldn’t use argon, because it’s unknown, nor could they use fluorine, because it can’t be vilified, because we intentionally put it in our drinking water and the cake icing P&G sells as “toothpaste.”
Former VP (and major shareholder in Occidental Petroleum) Al Gore, one of the principal con-men, took the time in the 1990s to explain to his friends in politics and petroleum, how they could all make boatloads of money, and establish monarchical control over every human on the entire planet, by jumping on the carbon bandwagon.
Money, power, control — period.
-Loob – chicoms actions speak way louder than globalists words.

Ure port side (left coast)- might want to check those lifeboats, potable water and top o mountain shelters…forecast is for a gargantuan wave of staggering proportions..”flashsplash” Ruskie torpedo’s dont cha know.
“Thats why they are currently on a record pace for building New coal fired electric generation plants in China .”
@RGEa I thought like I have said for decades.. diversify.. don’t put all your eggs in one basket.. put solar power towers starting at the furthest point from the power plants and build back to secure the grid.. keep a good energy source available .. I figured that they were building to secure their grid system..what if there is an EMP… here they take down five.. and the country folds.. because we put all our eggs in one basket to keep control and make money… many of the power plants they have built are not in operation just sitting there at the ready.. just like their ghost cities and ghost industries.. they built power plants so that if their power plants were to go down.. they could fire up the new ones to keep their industry and citizens with energy and the ghost cities and manufacturing plants to keep up industry and give shelter to their citizens…… while we destroyed our industrial complexes they try to keep theirs.. always sitting to the side.. I had read that in some chinese papers a long time ago.. that that was basically their plan.. but doubt I could find it again..
Thanks Mr. Ure.. Back in the mid nineties, debit cards were just rolling out, (early adapter),, one of my standard lines to the check out clerk (always try to be friendly) was, “some day, they will just put a chip in the back of our hand, and we’ll swipe that”,, behind me in line was a WWII era grizzled guy, who immediately piped in,,
“some goddamned criminal will just cut your hand off and use that”..
I stopped using that line immediately..

Good post, my friend.
Bill Cooper knew. I’ve had that book on my shelf for a long, long time.
One of the things that he stated in that book was that there was plan to use mind controlled subjects to shoot up schools in an effort to terrorize the middle class into begging to give up the 2A. They’ve been working that angle ever since.
The nature and timing of these highly emotive events in regards to the political peril of certain groups cannot be ignored. There is no doubt that these people are ruthless and will stop at nothing to attain their goals.
These are the same people who routinely ignore daily shooting deaths in their enclaves and clamor to keep legal the wholesale slaughter of the unborn on the one hand, while calling for the removal of constitutional rights because of the same actions by ‘gun owners’ on the other.
This is pure evil and it will stop at nothing to attain its goals.
War
thanks mate . you are a sage of wisdom and fact. yep out of control evil animals . karma will get em . they cant buy or print that . well done
I always get much from and enjoy your posts WTHS, especially including this one. The more who know the truth the better, but I’ve heard revolutions started with only 3 or 4% initially engaged.

The question we all have to ask ourselves is:
Did they load up the tubes with hypersonics before arriving on Duty Station?
Where is the assigned Duty Station?
Fie under: How many boats does it take to make a sunlit fracas?
Add some Klub-K to the landscape and you have an interferometry survey opportunity for the Blackhawk and P8 teams.
“Did they load up the tubes with hypersonics before arriving on Duty Station?
Add some Klub-K to the landscape and you have an interferometry survey opportunity for the Blackhawk and P8 teams.”
First off @ Steevo.. my guess with Brandon pushing the war at all costs is ..YES..
Where are they stationed.. heck they had a sub off of sanfran and no one knew about it..
Having sold off our ports of entry and toll roads.. not even considering we sold off almost 300 of our most crucial industries still manufacturing in the usa.. they own our debt.. imagine if the insisted that we pay the interest on our debt in Rubles or the Juan.. back what ten or even years ago they refused delivery until they were paid in gold..shortly after that laws were passed that allowed them to take possession..coincidence or planned..our grain storage owned..
Since we don’t have the manpower to check containers.. the club-k could be anywhere.. sneaking an enemy’s army across the borders giving them aid and assistance.. so what if..these same potential threats knew about club-k systems within our borders..
One post asked how a child got thousands of dollars of high tech weapons.. while we shuffle these very same high tech weapons across the norder and sell them cheap to criminal elements..
Years ago some gangs moved into our area..one child was working with me and telling me they were handing out guns and ammunition to anyone willing to join..
Why is it a 13 year old gang member in Chicago goes out and murders using weapons from our own govt storehouses..then see the only protection the weakest have defended with the support and urging of those sworn to protect..
One mentioned that citizens lived the lives of the people .. yet in Cali in the poorest neighborhoods a person walking down the sidewalk has a good chance of not surviving the block..
The majority of Gun owners respect the power they have.. just like anything there’s good and bad in all races, religions, and sizes.. not every Caucasian is white supremacy and not all African Americans members of some gang.. my parents taught us to judge people for who they are inside…not what they are..or what social status they hold.. be the blind man.. I teach all my kids to be as a blind man..all races and sizes are welcomed here as long as their not azzholes or violent..
“heck they had a sub off of sanfran and no one knew about it..”
Frisco phooey. A few years back they sailed into Norfolk. When we didn’t notice, they docked and the Commander sent a note to the Admiral in charge. We didn’t know they were here until they left. IIRC I posted about it here, at the time…
“A few years back they sailed into Norfolk. ”
Exactly @Ray.. my guess is they are all around the countries that are threatening them..
Once we had to go down .. the reason was they lost contact with one of our subs and seen a bunch of geese that they thought was airplanes.. afterwards.. I asked my boss.. why they didn’t put out a notice to the people.. his response was that it would cause panic.. one of the congressmen though had told a friend of his in NYC.. but by the time he got the notice and made it to his home.. it would have been overwith..
that is why I get a chuckle over the DUMB’s .. LOL thousands of miles away.. so.. if you have a bug out shelter.. what good it is.. pioneers usually made it twenty miles a day.. it would take you a long time to get there.. my friend lives next to one sitting all by itself waiting.. I told him.. well at least your ok.. you just have to figure out how to get in LOL LOL and if I can make it.. I will join you in three months LOL LOL LOL when I can walk there.. LOL LOL LOL
the best bet is for the grid to be strenghened.. put up solar towers starting at the furthest point and working back to the main generator.. and promoting solar to home owners.. but you and I both know they will get right on it.. just like they will with greenscaping LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
its all about profit.. and doesn’t have a thing to do about security of our grid…. five well placed events.. and we are back ten thousand years.. If you wish to just be one of the first out.. then all anyone has to do is move to delaware LOL.. probably could be buying property there cheap to. they could be as Cheap as the abandoned homes in Detroit…
building the solar towers might be tough.. our IIC ( idiot in cheif) is doing everything he can to pizz off Xi.. and our industry.. so getting materials to do it.. might be an issue.. although I did make an order for an item.. ( my hair dresser.. was looking to add more services to offer her customers.. so I got her an ultrasonic cavitator.. got it in three days.. from china.. ) I will have to call Julie and thank her again…. the last time she told me that since I am a good customer of theirs they are trying to make sure I get my orders expedited.. LOL…
WTHS, bravo zulu sir, once again you are spot on. I noticed that the Govenor of the old line state, Honorable Larry Hogan, has provided a lecture on “infrastructure and workforce development” at DAVOS 22 with the WEF. I guess Larry thinks he is part of that club. I wonder if he agrees with old Klaus “mr. you will own nothing and be happy” Schwab? Wonder how his constituents feel about this? Nothing to see here, move along……
Larry Hogan is a Republican governor in a Democrat state and very popular. There’s talk of him being a future President. Perhaps Davos is part of the interview process?
Somewhere, possibly in the attic according to my really old mom, is a box containing several dozen well padded model cars and warbird aircraft that were put away when I left for college. Maybe I can talk one of my boys to crawl up here and try to find it. Yeah….right.
I had the same thoughts when you mentioned AmReve2 but most likely we are all already proudly on those lists. We also should ponder that the comments may be trolled by those who are trying to ID the more higher level scallywags among us.
Stay safe all. 73
Not my circus, Not my monkeys……. and don’t be banging them.
Of course we’re all on those lists. George’s (and Gaye’s, BTW) sites both made the “200 banned sites” list several years ago.
“Free thinking” is not appreciated, in today’s world…
‘Thing is, everybody is on those lists — everybody has a file in D.C., Bethesda, Provo, hell, probably even Langley. The game is to ensure that file stays as thin as possible, whilst remembering that nothing which EVER goes into it, is removed, redacted, or deleted.
I loved building plastic car models in my youth. I knew I would never have the money to build that hemi pinto with drag tires in real life, but with the plastic car kits, there was no limit to what one could do… From them, I moved to balsa airplanes but the hobby fell away when I hit the cost wall for RC equipment. I now have a garage full of kits waiting for me to start my new job when I retire. The commute to the garage might be a problem, LOL!

I keep telling myself: “It should be interesting, seeing two trained actors go at each other, for real, in a real court of Law, for a LOT of money…” just to see when they’re acting, and how badly. HMMM… And….small town politics.. Hmmm… my guess is all the teachers should be FIRED… if it is discovered that they promoted Bullying because they were to afraid to stop it if it involves the small communities most important citizens…..
When I was thrown over the bannister because they voted out the high school and injured my back.. I seen the teacher watch it.. she later had night mares about it.. ( I took care of her in hospice) She didn’t do a thing because of her fear of the most important citizens of all..
Luckily for me.. I had great family support.. they took it to the police and they like so many were also distantly related in a small community and did nothing.. MOM was at home giving us an adult mature environment .. and guidance.. today.. we de regulated all of it.. mom has to work dad has to work sometimes like me multiple jobs.. we have the network programming running the raising of our children.. and the local gangs in poorer neighborhoods.. no longer is there an adult presence..
Hmm.. fire all the teachers.. I to live in a small community.. that has a major and most important citizen.. they were bent on destroying the economy in fear that others would migrate and settle here.. and some children that call me Papa.. had been bullied horribly.. the principle and the teachers wouldn’t do a thing.. The parents didn’t even know.. I went and had a talk with the administration and basically told them they were god dam lucky I wasn’t their boss.. he looked at me with his six figure income level and asked why.. because I would fire the whole lot of you..
well they have a huge anti pullying campaign now.. and my little adopted grand daughter is no longer being bullied..
they should be blaming the network televisions and de-regulations for all of the violence.. leaving children to raise themselves.. with television filled with violent programming and desensitization of crimes.. every hours there are multiple rapes murders and robberies all glorified.. game shows that promote sociopathic actions to be able to win.. and local gangs to raise them..
People don’t even realize that that is how they get support of the poorest to take from the richest.. get the support.. look how fast it happened with BLM and Antifa.. to deregulate the only protection of the poorest in the highest crime areas..
I am so fed up about all these parents complaining about school lunch program since they made it mandatory to be healthy.. dam they should be appreciative about what they have going for them..

I swear, it’s gag. It’s easily the foulest concoction ever created. I think they have SUCH a laconic sense of humor, that it’s ONLY served to watch ausland visitors squirm, struggle to be P.C., and pretend it isn’t the worst thing they have ever tasted.
Best served with a high sense of portentous ceremony, with the very faintest of Mona Lisa smiles….
I spit it out, and said, “GAAACK!” — and they all laughed.
I refused to eat any of the school food when we went to the Elementary to have lunch with our kids over the years. By the time our granddaughter went to our school the food was totally inedible. The lunches I remember in high school were filling and rendered you totally comatose by the time the next class was scheduled. The rolls … oh, dear God, the rolls!! To die (or kill) for.
We didn’t have Elementary School lunch; we had a 110 minute break, where we’d walk home, eat, play, and walk back.
Starting with Junior High, well: Brown paper bags were 39¢ a hundred, bread was a dime, Big Top peanut butter was 39¢. My mom bought Big Top because the jars were 20oz, they had ¼ cup graduations molded into the glass sides, and the lids had a very good seal. She used them for canning jelly and storing household things; Dad used them for everything from storing screws to mixing paint and 2-cycle oil… and when things got tight, you could eyeball nonfat dry milk, Hershey’s unsweetened, and sugar, via the graduations, then tap some water (and shake vigorously) at lunchtime, and have a pint of chocolate milk. Dad did this occasionally. I did it daily, during my first couple (summer) factory jobs. It looked like you were positively wealthy, when in reality you couldn’t afford coffee that week…
The Pimento cheese sandwiches were the ones that got me to the point I can’t stand Pimento spread to this day. Plain bologna with mayo was a step up but not by much. I’m pretty sure I could taste a LOT more back then than I do now after a ocean of hot coffee has scalded my tongue over the years. I couldn’t complain, though, because we’d lost Dad when I was 13 and things REALLY got tight even though we had ridden the house market pretty well through 5 different cities and were headed back to here at the end of that school year.
Mom, God love her, never really had much imagination when it came to cooking but her brother, my uncle, was a God send when he came to visit. He was a life-long bachelor who learned to cook for himself long before that and was very attuned to what “haute cuisine” was living in California. Most of his best dishes revolved around alcohol, though, but that never materialized in my lunch sack … dangit.
I wish I had the old lunch boxes I started out with in school. The odor of metal and food wafting up from that box after marinating for hours when I opened it elicited a range of emotions about as wide as the Grand Canyon and most lunch rooms smelled like that, too, as the other kids began finding out what had been packed for them that morning. Sometimes small prayers were said over the box before opening in case Mom slipped a sappy note in there. Don’t Mom’s know their boys would be required to read it aloud by all his friends at the lunch room table??
But …. ooohh, for a quarter found on the playground during the first recess period I could score an orange push-up ice cream and another coin or two more got me to “Door #2” where the creme filled cakes, fried pies and other ice creams resided. Heaven forbid you find anything like that in today’s Elementary lunch rooms! EVERY calorie from carbs and sugars of those “high end” desserts had vaporized by the time the bell to go home went off and coach had run around the playground a time or two so I still have no guilt about luxuriating in them. Life was a pretty safe adventure as far as I knew back then – even walking a mile-plus home in West Texas oil towns.
“On the other hand, bakery goods may not be as fresh come Sunday. But, seriously, microwaves have changed the “day old bread” market, though I haven’t found a good book on that yet.”
We make croutons..
my mother made bread pudding..
3 cups divided granulated sugar
5 large beaten eggs
2 cups milk
4 teaspoons divided vanilla extract
3 cups cubed and dried bread..
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup melted, plus 1/4 cup softened butter
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup of raisins ( or apples.. if you use apples then 1tbsp of cinnamon)
1 beaten, for the sauce egg
Preheat the oven to 350º. Grease a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan.
Mix together 2 cups granulated sugar, 5 eggs and milk in a bowl; add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 minutes.
In another bowl, mix and crumble together brown sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter and pecans.
Pour bread mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over the top and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until set. Remove from oven.
For the sauce:
Mix together 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 egg, and 2 teaspoons vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir together until the sugar is melted. Add the brandy, stirring well. Pour over bread pudding. Serve warm or cold.
home made croutons..
4 tablespoons butter
1 clove garlic, minced
toss in bowl of cubed stale bread.. bake at 350 for ten minutes.. take out.. put on plate.. then put aside ( I put it in our air fryer on one of the shelves.. ) to sit for a few days.. bag and store.. .. you can also use other spices as well.. the same thing with butter then whatever spice you like.. like poultry sage seasoning for a stuffing.. or ranch seasoning for a greater taste difference.. I get spagetti seasoning blend it up then use that as well.. or just plain.. no butter or seasoning on it.. easy peasy and nothing goes to waste..

you choose .. its your taste buds
my mother always baked bread on thursdays.. then the old bread was cubbed and set aside to dry..
on sunday we had her bread pudding.. yum.. it was the best..
my best home made bread memory was when I was a toddler.. we went camping.. and my father forgot the bread.. my mom made a wood fired oven out of sticks to make the form and my sister and I packing clay around it on a slab of rock.. she made a big fire in it.. then where it cracked we filled in with more clay afterwards.. my father went to the lake store and got some flour eggs etc.. and my mom made the bread .. tossed some corn meal on the slab of rock.. when she pulled it out.. slathered butter all over it.. the taste comes to my mind even now as I think about it.. when I stocked shelves at the grocery store as one of my part time hats.. they would bake bread.. so I would get some butter.. then before the bread coming out of the oven was put in the slicer.. I would have them melt the butter all over it.. best dam bread ever..

Texas School Shooting.
Can anybody explain to this NON Texan why the local police just stood around outside the school for more than an hour after they arrived while the shootings continued inside?
It wasn’t until an off duty Border Patrol guy showed up and just barged in that the shooter was finally engaged.
What were the local police doing during that hour? Drinking coffee and eating donuts while listening to country music in their patrol cars?
(some news reports are saying from the time the shooting started until the Border Patrol Agent charged in, which he apparently did as soon as he arrived, was 90 minutes – so the local police and sheriff may have been sitting around outside for much MORE than an hour)
Texas in my experience has always been mostly filled with a bunch of braggards …. and this doesn’t change that opinion I have of them in the least. It just reinforces it.

The police owe “no special duty” to citizens; i.e., they are not REQUIRED to risk injury or death in performing their official duties. Nevertheless, many do so on a daily basis (God bless ’em).
They were under “Orders” – besides you are not supposed to be asking these kind of questions – exposure would cost deepstate dearly. Texas was/is the target, biggest – staunchest gun supporters by population. Need to be taught some lessons, about tools apparently.
Entire population of DNB’s aint gonna do shit but WHINE and Cry.

Bullshit! That paralysis lasts about 5 seconds, and shouldn’t even exist if cops know in advance of arrival that they’re going to the scene of an “active shooter.”
The cops were wearing BVDs when they should’ve been wearing Depends.
You can’t just charge in, because dead cops don’t rescue anybody, but you also can’t sit around and massage your ‘roids while some nutjob runs up a score. I haven’t seen a cop in nearly 10 years, who was not wearing body armor. I’m guessing two layers of it would stop even an AP 5.56, and it could be used as a head-shield, to at least get in, and get a shot.
The agent who got Ramos got burned across the top of his scalp. This means, he went to the barricaded classroom, then leaned in for a look-see. His mind took a mental picture of the layout. Then he dove in, shooting Ramos from memory. Delta, SEALs, and FAST get this training — I didn’t know anyone else got it…
Stephen 2,
Whoa!
Here’s how I see it. A year ago, the Texas State rep for Houston whose district includes(?) Uvalde successfully sponsored George Floyd legislation which handcuffs police responses in potentially confrontational circumstances. Even if the police had a cache of firepower and armour to take on the perp, they possibly did not have swift response from the top for authorization of lethal force. Perhaps officials were out campaigning for next month’s(?) elections and frantic police calls for permissions went to messaging services.
Certainly it was a small turn of fortune that a Border Patrol member of military-grade responded either by chance or unofficial summons to the tragic scene. One imagines that since Mr. Biden signed the EO yesterday restricting federal policing power in response to George Floyd legislation stranded in Congress that Border Patrol members and similar officials would have to think twice about applying deadly force now.
The EO that Mr. Biden signed in the matter does not have a number that I can see. However the preamble does state its purpose is specifically aimed towards Black and Brown communities. So much for equality for all? Secondly, Mr. Biden has been stating concurrently this week that the second amendment is not absolute.
The Republic is ailing.
Someone should sue to block the EO. In a non-racist country, not reference to color shoudl be made.
Oh wait! We ARE a racist country now…silly me!
You are wrong…As was demonstrated on Grant Stinchfield’s show tonight the local police engaged within 4 minutes (11:44 AM) of Ramos opening fire (11:40 AM) in the building. They were driven out because they did not have vests and automatic weapons. Ramos did all the killing when he went in. A lot of parents wanted guns to go in and were stopped. It was a circus of too many lawmen from too many departments, and you can’t react in an emergency by committee. A single border patrol agent didn’t go in, but a Border Patrol tactical team 1 hour later after Ramos was barricaded. This is why ALL schools should have armed security and multiple televised entry points with security locks. Something that could easily be paid for with a small portion of the $60 Billion Biden sent to protect Ukraine.
And unless you are wearing a chest full of medals, or ever been in a gunfight, don’t knock real Texans. The state has unfortunately obtained a lot of weak kneed libs from the West and East coast that couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag. What we call Chicken Shits. And BTW, the most decorated soldier of WW2 was Texan, Audie Murphy.
Thanks for that. Don’t matter what fricking state you are from, if you have never been engaged in a firefight, not including your video games, you have no idea of what you’re spewing about. You should be embarrassed.
“Local Police engaged within FOUR minutes” …. Sorry I have to call that as not just PURE BULLSHIT but actual LIES by the local LEOs.
Let’s see what the Press Conference by the Texas STATE Police today says, NOT what the local LEOs want to “sell” to the public … and then later lets see what the final investigation shows.
LEO’s LIE all the time. Not just in Texas but happens in my city too. One cop was recently convicted wrt a killing, and boy did he LIE LIE LIE, and backed up by his Department too at first, until it became clear to everyone it was just a pack of LIES and they couldn’t cover up the LIES anymore. (like the officer in Milwaukee he had a string of excessive force complaints against him that ran for PAGES)
A second local officer, a Sheriff’s Deputy this time, is now going on trial for Murder too. Again LIES LIES and LIES. While nominally on assignment to a Federal Task Force the Feds wiped their hands of him within 12 hours after the event since they saw the LIES LIES LIES coming out of him and his department. The Feds couldn’t run away from him fast enough.
Sad state of affairs in Texas … but the local LEO’s LYING about what they did only ruins their reputations even more. “engaged within FOUR minutes” is pure LIES.
Texan, you wrote “And unless you are wearing a chest full of medals, or ever been in a gunfight, don’t knock real Texans.”
Interesting to see that you think those LEOs in that town, and the local Sheriff’s Deputies are REAL TEXANS!! And THEIR ACTIONS are the actions of REAL TEXANS!!
btw … Pray tell … exactly WHAT gunfight did the local LEO’s engage in? NONE per the news reports today. Only the Border Patrol guy who was NOT an LEO for the city, county, or state and who went in on his own (per the reports today)
Your statement only makes me even MORE convinced that my original statement about Texans is ACCURATE!! 100% accurate.
I wrote:
“Texas in my experience has always been mostly filled with a bunch of braggards …. and this doesn’t change that opinion I have of them in the least. It just reinforces it.”
We have problems here … but at least we don’t have the Braggart Issues that Texans are filled with.
The shooter was popping off rounds at the funeral home for 12 minutes according to one of the latest ZH articles – “Uvalde Shooter Fired Gun For 12 Minutes Outside School Before Entering”
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/go-there-distraught-parents-begged-texas-cops-enter-school-gunman-inside-hour
For a town that size where “everybody knows your name” this little shit bought 2 VERY expensive rifles and 300+ rounds of ammo plus magazines and a personal stash of marijuana (THANK YOU $15/hr minimum wage dorks) from, I’m supposing, a gun store staffed by people that knew everyone and should have known this kid was bad news. According to law the kid had to wait 3 days, I think, to take possession of the rifles because he doesn’t have a CC license which I do and can take possession of a firearm on the day of purchase.
Read the article above. The story just gets worse and worse. It was a TOTAL failure of the ENTIRE town’s social and operational system from one end to the other. My wife says that Uvalde has always been a corrupt town. Two officers that did rush in went in to save their own kids while parents were held at bay with Tasers. This kid was screwed from the day he was born having a drug addicted mother, no father figure acting out all the time, abusing girls and those he thought were weaker than him, moved in with his grandmother who at least tried to impose some discipline, slept on a bare mattress on the floor, didn’t attend school enough to graduate with his peers which saddened him even more, escaping into marijuana whenever he could and even TOLD people what he was going to do 30 minutes before he did it – and so much more. The kid was a totally unguided mess.
There’s no three day waiting period in Texas, unless there are special rules for under 21. The three day waiting period must be for your state, and perhaps others.
Holding parents at bay with tasers while not using those same tasers to disable the perp is just wrong. Why do cops even have guns if they’re not allowed to use them under exigent circumstances? I would expect every cop to have a flak jacket of their own if the department didn’t provide one! It’s just common sense. Of course, it is hot there and I could see leaving it in the cruiser, but that would make for only a minimal delay. Cops are not required by law to protect anyone at their own risk, but many do.
Regardless, there has been nothing in the news at all for three days straight except for this one very suspicious incident, and even now, the facts are in dispute.
Nope, there’s some kind of rule out there here in Texas, or a least my town, that says you can’t take your gun home unless you have your CCL. I’ve stood next to a guy that didn’t have one and got a pretty good look out of him when they boxed mine up and handed it to me. It could be a Federal rule … ?
And he was well beyond 18.
I grant that my old memory isn’t what it used to be, but wasn’t there another big school shooting where the cops just milled around for a long time and did nothing just like they did in this case? Could be that it boils down to local politics and money for crisis and weapons training being diverted to other BS training requirements. Or it could be the well-known crisis management practice of waiting for some other/higher outfit to take the initiative/blame.
Looks like this brave Border Patrol officer was a follower of BP shooter Bill Jordan’s philosophy.

Dam Ray Liotta Died.. what a good actor.. the movie good fellas was a great story to.. what is funny is when I was making two bucks an hour.. a guy bought a bar in my home town.. dam he made it into a steak house.. and had big name stars coming to a stinking little town of three hundred people.. his kids.. he was giving them twenty dollars a day for pocket money..
then one day a stretch limo showed up .. guys in real expensive suits were walking into the bank as I was going for my mail.. that night when I got off of work.. his house had a whole bunch of moving van’s and govt. cars.. around it.. he was gone.. it was just like the govt.. on final expenses.. once you are gone.. they don’t pay.. anyway it shut down the local store and several other companies..
years later after the movie was out.. I was watching the phil Donahue show on tv.. when the man the movie was made about was on.. it was the guy that owned that small town bar..
The blurb on Salvador Ramos is that he was “bullied” (we called this “teased,” back in the day, before everybody became a narcissistic, self-important, whiny-assed jerk) because he and his family were dirt poor.
How did a “dirt poor” kid who couldn’t afford clothes purchase a handgun, two $1500 rifles, and $400 worth of ammunition…?
Wendy’s at $15/hr. and maybe a little drug hustle on the side.
Teased is with words. Bullying is when physical altercation is initiated and bodily harm happens. Credible threats and extortion count too. Those are my definitions and I have zero tolerance for bullying.
I really don’t care about teasing and figure that the teaser had better be able to take the same crap he dishes out.
I’ve been trying to ignore this latest incident because it’s so transparent. If Brandon is willing to start a world war, I doubt he cares much about a few kids.
My bad.
$2349 and $3390.
He didn’t buy surplus ARs, or even Bushmasters. His guns of choice were one of the field style rifles and one of the paratrooper style rifles made by Daniel Defense — a Military and Police specialty manufacturer / contractor which virtually nobody outside the Green Berets or your local state police S.W.A.T. team PA has ever heard of.
So again: He didn’t have quality weapons that he dropped two large on, he had new, elite weapons for which he spent over $6000. I haven’t heard what he was packing as a pistol, but wouldn’t be surprised to learn it was a Kimber Custom or Wilson CQB.
‘Point is, the kid couldn’t buy clothes or shoes. Before he shot Granny, they argued because she was going to cut off his cellphone, so he couldn’t even afford that.
Where’d he get the money,
why would he spend much more than necessary to acquire quality firearms,
and how did he even learn about Daniel Defense?
SoF has been out of print for over 6 years, and I’m not sure USMIL weapons specialty contractors like DD ever even advertised in it…
Sumpin’ here reeks like month-old Limburger under a car seat.
I suggest we all cool our jets and wait for lots more information before we flame the cops, the news, or each other. Just bear in-mind what I said above, and consider Ramos would’ve had to save every penny he made at Wendy’s for over two years, to pay for the stuff he purchased — Doesn’t make sense.
Oh, and bear in-mind every official who steps in front of a microphone is going to be in CYA-mode so they may not “lie,” but they may all “conveniently omit” stuff…

How can you tell if a politician is lying…..
check to see if his lips are moving.. LOL LOL LOL
seriously.. how can they discuss what is in a policy or forthcoming law they support if they don’t actually read the policy to see just what is in it…. they read the sales paragraph if that at all.. the day as a child that I went to the capital and thought I would watch them discuss important issues while in session.. up in the balconies I waited.. there was what five people shuffling papers and a janitor standing by his cart in the middle of the floor.. no one was there.. its an act..
this has reached a point of madness that is destroying the concepts and foundations of civilization and economics . one could get upset but its better to stay calm and let a higher form of spirit take care of this evil.short hard now the end is near , close as i said 4 days ago long was good . stay with gold and wave bye bye american lie as don maclean said

Never bought any of my guns from a store without one. Perhaps Eric Holder is on his mailing list?
Me Either @Bill… I got an old antique double barrel ( I bid on it and never thought I would get it.. was going to put it in a display.. unfireable..just for looks gun) and they did a check.. those laws already exist.. taking away guns from good honest people won’t work.. the criminal elements can get them.. and the USA sells massive amounts of guns to the ones they would get them from..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATF_gunwalking_scandal
so in essence.. we are creating a problem that we cannot win from.. if at first you create the problem then try to fix the problem you are creating.. the criminals would always have guns.. so far with most of the issues around this have been discovered to be a neglecting school staff of internal problems. Our cities and the administration’s constantly saying that if your Caucasian your instantly a supremist is not the answer either. here is what another of my deeply respected heros Denzel Washington said..

Go to SigMfg.com and buy an RC balsa plane kit and build your own drone. Takes a lot more than an x-acto knife and fine grit sandpaper. There are some giant scale plans out there as well if you want to put those power tools to use and go big…
“Why that’s the Flying Dutchman.”
Last time I heard that line was on Discovery channel’s “Gold Rush”. Yukon gold miner Tony Beets (who is Dutch) taking off in a small plane from the claim’s airstrip, as one of his sons says “There goes the Flying Dutchman!”
Now if you wanted a REAL flying boat, InterIsland Airways… Now Hawaiian Airlines… used Sikorsky S43s
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_S-43
Incidentally, Hawaiian is the oldest US airline with never a fatal accident.
wow all hell is gunna break loose in markets . please be careful be short and hold gold . do not touch or attempt to catch. good folks here i pass on my thoughts. wow
So far the lone gunman version of events is holding… I’m not sure that the type(s) of weapon used was even a factor, with the amount of time the gunman had.
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/go-there-distraught-parents-begged-texas-cops-enter-school-gunman-inside-hour
I don’t see how there will be anything flattering to Texas lawmen or their supervision come out of this. I can’t really dispute your comments, Stephen 2, as much as it galls me.
Jesse Waters is saying the same thing as he steps through the time line of events during the shooting –
Jesse Watters: I feel like we’re not getting the whole story here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_msCR4VVtJs
And he’s not one to bash Law Enforcement at the drop of a hat. It doesn’t look good. The DPS spokesman said “We’ll circle back to you” when asked about the one hour wait time before the Border Patrol agent got there. Where have we heard that phrase before?
https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/27/us/uvalde-texas-elementary-school-shooting-friday/index.html
“Ramos got into the building through an apparently unlocked door at 11:40 a.m., Escalon said. That door is normally locked, “unless you are leaving to go home on the school bus,” former principal Ross McGlothlin told CNN.”
Said door was allegedly blocked open, TWO MINUTES before Ramos crashed outside.
Oh, and the teacher who allegedly blocked the door open is also allegedly the person who called in the first “active shooter” 911 to the local po-po…
I find this last a stretch. If I were at a mortuary (or inside anyplace else) and rounds started zinging in, I’d hit the floor, start crawling toward the door (or a window) closest to the shooting (if it was one shooter), or away from the door (if it were more than one) and call 911 as I was doing so. Then again, I also lived, on several occasions, where folks had random gunfire sing them to sleep every night or two, so I actually kinda know what shooting, and flying bits of lead, sound like.
The last bond election tried to get a “state-of-the-art” air lock installed for entry to the Elementary school across the street. An “upgrade” to what we already had that all the “good” people use, and murdering criminals wouldn’t, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen every single one of the other doors propped open multiple times every week while school is in session. It’s easy to become complacent over time. This is why I have my rifle and shotgun loaded and ready in case anything strange happens when I’m around. That being said I’m surprised some “newbie” soccer mom from some big city now living out here hasn’t freaked as yet when I take a rifle and pistol to the truck when going to the ranch.
I have yet to see or hear of a young parent that didn’t swoon over the idea of “air locks” and other such pure b.s. because of propaganda from architects that say “most school shootings happen inside the buildings”. You’re still rolling the dice, not making any hard-core safety steps. Anyone with a bit of critical thinking would look at the play ground surrounding the school and see it as a killing zone for any nut job that took a notion to ruin a lot of peoples’ lives – and what about when the kids are being dropped off and picked up, school parties and everything else? You’ve GOT to think like a criminal in these circumstances.
“The last bond election tried to get a “state-of-the-art” air lock installed for entry to the Elementary school”
Stupid!
For those who don’t know, an “airlock” is a double set of entry doors, one at either end of a hallway or room, which can be simultaneously locked to trap someone between the doors. I’ve seen them at several schools, generally made by putting a buzz (magnetic) latch on the inside door and a switch in the school’s office, which the receptionist can flip to drop-bolt the outside door. Every single one of them was installed in tempered (not bulletproof) glass walls, and there’s usually a bench or table in the entry foyer, which could be used as a glass, rapid removal tool. For the school, it’s a demonstration of how to spend a hundred grand for an $8000 entry door. A simple, steel door with a cam, an 8×8 window, a “door open” alarm wired back to the resource officer’s office, and a panic bar lock is all that’s needed, and works better than the above, which only works well to pay for the contractor’s Christmas vaca on Oahu.
An “airlock” on the school’s main entrance is only useful if there’s a squad of bikers (“bicyclers,” not motorcycle riders) storming the school. Baddies don’t come in past (or through) an office full of grups, they sneak in the back door or through a large, open window.
Door alarm, camera, notice to staff that anyone who opens the door without authorization will get canned. The schools around here have hundreds of cameras (the two nearest me have 179 cams and 212 cams respectively, most stashed in clocks and exit signs.) The kiddies have no idea. Every camera, every reed-switch, every IR sensor and breakage detector is individually hard-wired (no, I didn’t do the jobs or even consult on them. Kids at one school, nephew’s kids at the other, I would stroll in and watch, and because I’d done the exact jobs, I knew what was going on, and because I’d done the exact jobs, I never told any of the kids that those workers weren’t removing asbestos {their cover story}, from schools which were built 20 years after asbestos was banned… ;-)
What I don’t get Ray: We are about to protect schools with increasing externalities.
Yet the real danger to our children is curriculum decline, political correctness and political globalism indoctrination.
Which will kill more people in the long run is clear in the data.
“Which will kill more people in the long run is clear in the data.”
Very. But shootings are both more spectacular, and more sudden. Filling kids’ minds with garbage and setting fire to it is like boiling frogs.
There’s nothing wrong with securing school buildings against intrusion or assault. It is what SHOULD be done. Hell, My HS was in neither a high-crime area nor a ghetto, but they had armed off-duty police onsite from about 1975 on. It’s what you do. My kids’ middle school had three officers, and the Captain was the night-shift Captain on the local PD.
On the bright side, there are nearly 2mln fewer school children today than there were two years ago. This is because, thanks to COVID lockdowns, parents discovered they WERE capable of homeschooling, and they also discovered the perverted sex and social excrement which were being pumped into their kids’ heads.
Just one more point that parents who care are going to have to pick up where the public schools drop the ball. I remember doing pages of multiplication and long division for homework to grind it into our memories. My granddaughter barely does 2 or 3 before moving on to the next concept. Makes me want to cry sometimes. Her 6th grade math and science book look like my 3rd and 4th grade books from the 60s.
