Focus on the Important and today it’s learning to write a personal app. Our Focus today is on learning to become a skilled user of AI to write your own apps to shortcut stock trading investment decisions.  This is the first of what’s likely to be two or three parts.

Then?  Ever wonder when life got so loud? Somewhere between the notifications and the “next big thing,” we traded silence for scroll. Our ancestors had hard days, but they ended with stars overhead, not screens. The world may look high-tech now, but maybe all we’ve built is a noisier version of the same old shopkeeper’s stall — shelves full, souls empty.

Take a breath before diving into today’s madness; this one’s about The Vanishing Quiet.

And in the ChartPack today? A dart toss at when the lights will go out – for good.  See, Tech is just a scaled-up shopkeeper economy…But you knew that, right?

  1. Hey Mr Cooper,

But whats that smell ? That smelly smell that smells smelly? Did some licketysplit research, Shinta Cho – The Gas We Pass, The story of Farts.

..Rutte be gaslighting the crap outta da Sheeps, regards Russian Military strength and one lone “limping” Sub.
Tells me they (nato) are TERRIFIED of Russian Subs, nuke mole torpedoes to be exact. Awesome, nothing like a “black shoe’ making critical command decisions while under duress. tRUMP been selling HARD lately..best fighting force, tough military. What can we discern from such hyperbole ? Same sheisse.

    ” FARTHEEWELL”

*Seattle, Boeing, young RM, jr penchant for jumping out of perfectly good Airplanes, the list goes on..

    • The very specific problem nato and the US have is that our softest of under belly is the submarine cables. These transit international waters all over hell and gone and russians can park a sub and a robotic submersible and do their deeds from so many places..
Let me read you in thusly:
High-level, non-actionable briefing (what’s publicly known and relevant)

      • Undersea cables are physically vulnerable and vital. They carry the overwhelming majority of global Internet traffic and many power/energy links; damage can cause major regional outages. Operators and industry bodies publicly record hundreds of faults a year (many accidental), and a handful of deliberate or suspicious incidents in recent years have triggered major concern.
      iscpc.org
      • Most cable damage historically is accidental (anchors, trawling, natural abrasion), but geopolitical tensions have produced suspicious damage and alleged sabotage in some cases — recent high-profile events in the Baltic and Gulf of Finland (late-2024 / 2025) prompted criminal investigations and NATO patrols. A recent Red Sea outage was attributed by analysts to a commercial ship dragging anchor across dense cable routes. These incidents show both real vulnerability and political ambiguity about causes and responsibility.
      • International law (UNCLOS) forbids willful damage to submarine cables, and Article 113 contemplates criminal sanctions — but enforcement is uneven. Coastal states have jurisdiction in their territorial seas and rights in their EEZs; beyond that, enforcement relies on flag states and international cooperation, which can be legally and politically difficult. That gap is a practical vulnerability when incidents occur outside clear national jurisdiction.
      • Repair capacity and industry resilience matter. The industry runs dedicated cable-repair ships and a global maintenance system, but repairs are costly and take time. The density of alternate routes matters: cuts in heavily meshed Atlantic corridors are survivable; cuts in narrow chokepoints or regions with few alternate fibers — e.g., some routes to the Middle East, parts of the Mediterranean, and the Bab el-Mandeb area — produce much bigger disruptions.
      • Detecting and countering submarines is getting harder in some environmental conditions. Modern diesel/electric and air-independent submarines can be quiet, and climate-driven ocean changes may reduce sonar ranges in key areas. That complicates anti-submarine warfare (ASW) for navies and increases the “uncertainty” in any escalation scenario. (This is high-level context, not operational guidance.)

Where the strategic pressure points tend to be (non-operational)

I’ll only describe these in broad, public terms — these are well-known chokepoints or high-density cable areas cited in public analyses and maps:

Narrow straits and chokepoints (e.g., the English Channel / Dover Strait, Strait of Gibraltar, Bosporus, Strait of Hormuz / Bab el-Mandeb) concentrate shipping and cables, so outages there have outsized regional impacts.

Regions with few alternate routes — parts of the Middle East / Red Sea, certain links into Africa, and some Mediterranean corridors — are more sensitive to single cuts.

The North Atlantic / GIUK area (Greenland–Iceland–UK) is a long-recognized naval choke point with high strategic importance to Europe–North America connectivity and NATO defense posture.
All of the above are widely discussed in open analyses of maritime security and critical infrastructure. (I’m not providing coordinates, transit patterns, or advice on evasion or attack.)

What governments, industry, and NATO are doing (and should do)

Industry / operators: route diversity, hardened landing stations, cable burial where possible, faster & more distributed repair capacity, and private monitoring.

Governments / law: push to implement and enforce UNCLOS obligations in domestic law, intelligence sharing, prosecution of suspected sabotage, closer port-state control on suspicious vessels, and blacklisting of “shadow fleet” actors tied to malign activity. Recent seizures and prosecutions in the Baltic region show those measures being used.

NATO / defense posture: increased maritime patrols around sensitive corridors, investment in ASW sensor networks, integrated public-private exercises to test resilience and recovery, and contingency planning for rerouting traffic and emergency comms.
      Foreign Policy Research Institute

Practical signals / indicators worth watching (public, non-actionable)

If you’re tracking geopolitical escalation rather than trying to operationalize attacks, these publicly visible things tend to precede or accompany serious disruption risks:

      a cluster of undersea cable outages or unexplained power-link failures in a short period;

      arrests, seizures, or suspicious activity by ships in cable-dense waters (e.g., “ghost ships,” abnormal AIS behavior);

      documented mapping or survey activity by foreign vessels near critical seabed infrastructure;

      accelerated naval/air patrols by NATO or coastal states around cable routes;

political rhetoric threatening “countermeasures” or warning of retaliation for sanctions or military moves.
All of these are open-source indicators analysts monitor — they’re useful for situational awareness and public reporting.

What should be rising in back of mind is that an old pilot (bows) who have sailed much of the West Coast over moere than a decade under sail (second bow_) looks at sea floor as just “like sky” – a LOT. Bathymetry — refers to the measurement and mapping of the depth of water bodies, like oceans, seas, or lakes (the underwater equivalent of topography).
I’m nearly certain that Russia has sub officers who can fly – as does china. And if you read the damage reports from bumping into sea mounts and limped into SD, your guess that some of us Yanks are learning craft might be nearly on target. Um…so to speak.

      • Tis interesting subject…missing TONS of pertinent info, such as how many of our “active” Subs are actually out of commission due; parts availability, pending repairs, and myriad of other certified labor issues impacting shipyards in US, and Fleet personnel manning the boats .

Why even the non round eyes have cut off Ship bldg supplies to Hanwa in Philly just this week. Thois on top of letter in MAil yesterday from Orvis, informing of decision to close local Store. There go anymore Permit logo, collared, short sleeves, and Beer glasses..sign-o-times.

      • Wow, with this analysis, we sure don’t have to spend a lot of time worrying about an alien invasion or an EMP from the sky.

      • George, we (USA) also have pilots who are also Sub Officers. I served with one back around 1962. He got bored with flying on and off of a ‘Birdfarm’ (aircraft carrier) so came over to the small undersea world.

As for Sea Mounts they are a bitch! Don’t know where they are so we ‘ping’ so often to check the depth. Of course there are many areas that we are silent.

Went on patrol (fast attack boat) without any grey hair and came back with a few. Did a single ping expecting a very deep depth but got a return of about a hundred fathoms. Opps, slow the boat and come up a few hundred feet. Repeat as necessary and mark on chart. Oh, the charts are not “new” which complicates things.

    • NATO (US) arms manufacturers are about to cooperate w/the Ukie resistance. Probably made a list.

“Ukrainian officials meet with US weapons manufacturers before Trump-Zelenskyy talks

A Ukrainian government delegation has met with major American weapons manufacturers during a U.S. visit

“Raytheon produces Patriot air defense systems, which have been vital for Ukrainian efforts to counter Russian long-range strikes, and Tomahawk cruise missiles. Kyiv officials are keen to obtain Tomahawks, which could allow Ukraine to strike targets deep inside Russia, including Moscow, accurately and with large warheads.

Lockheed Martin also manufactures a wide array of sophisticated weapon systems that can help Ukraine.””

Likely when we start giving away any technology that is classified such as super-duper Tomahawk Cruisers, the technology will be reverse engineered and like magic, all of our socialist neighbors will have it and use what they can against us just like the atom bomb tech was stolen and now can be used against us by many nations which list themselves as our enemy. How this ends becomes more obvious by the day…

        • Do you mean, like when Mr. Biden gave the Taliban $80bln of our advanced tech? THEY didn’t keep that stuff. They sold it to China, and probably Russia, Iran, and North Korea…

        • (” They sold it to China, and probably Russia, Iran, and North Korea…”)

they didn’t need to have it sold to them..I remember the photo of DC. and surrounding area fro above.. we wanted to hang it on the wall..the boss said no.. one of the guys in the lab wrote to the Russian embassy and they sent a thirty by forty areal photo better than the one we had with everything listed..crap nobody knew about..now China is our manufacturing resources.. only assuming that they can’t put the pieces together … We’ve outsourced so much of our technological backbone that we’ve handed the keys to our own infrastructure to foreign powers — especially China. Whether it’s guidance chips, telecom hardware, or AI components, the risk isn’t just economic — it’s existential.
Senator Rand Paul and others have raised alarms about the potential for hidden code, backdoors, or compromised components in Chinese-manufactured tech. And let’s be honest — the Chinese government isn’t naive. They understand that manufacturing isn’t just about profit — it’s about leverage. If we don’t secure our supply chains and rebuild domestic capacity, we’re not just risking our data. We’re risking our sovereignty.

    • Hmm.. now the image not of the story book but of the image …Texas beans. Hot chili. A dark car. A desert highway. The perfect storm.
You feel the rumble — not of thunder, but of gastrointestinal prophecy. You smirk. You turn off the AC. “Car’s overheating,” you say, solemnly. The windows stay up. The sun bears down. The passengers sweat. And then… you release the beast.
Now comes the test: who breaks first? Who rolls down the window, inviting the swirling desert air — and the full force of your chili-born vengeance — directly into their lungs?
This isn’t just a prank. It’s a social experiment that’s definitely fun to do. A test of the character of those riding. Its also a study in survival. In the muggy heat of the Southwest, only the strong — or the shameless — endure.

    • Ok here’s another one.. the enemy has attacked..we have to be sneaky..hide so as not to be killed by the enemy searching.. which do you prefer to hide with ..someone that snores..or someone that lives those great Texas beans?

  2. Ford may need a bailout or tariff exemption as F’s main product is about to be priced out of the market.

Ford Cuts Production of Five Trucks, SUVs After Fire at Aluminum Supplier
Crucial aluminum supplier knocked offline until next year; moneymaking F-150 trucks vulnerable

“A recent fire at a major supplier (Novelis) has forced automakers to import more aluminum, but a 50% U.S. tariff on imports makes this solution very costly.”

This brings up a good question regarding all the shiny new factories that Trump said are coming soonly.

How must the economic landscape change in order to make American trucks cheaper to build than Asian trucks? What’s the equation to reverse multiple direct costs like wages, land, local, state and federal taxes needed for local infrastructure, utilities and other inputs including legacy costs like the U.S. transfer payment systems, social security as example and military that keeps the American system lubed extending down into the supply chain.

The Chinese F-150 is called a Foton General.

A new Foton General (link below) can range in price from approximately $27,900 to $31,200 which is equivalent to a Ford Raptor with asks that start at $81,600 and goes up to $112,725.

A U.S. deflationary death spiral will pull current Asian suppliers into the death spiral as well. Asian costs will fall as American costs fall so this has to be factored.

The following article indicates American ships cost 5x more to build then Asian ships. The reverse multiplier has to be… immense. Or American products will become very expensive and foreigners won’t buy and Americans will have to make the payments.

U.S. starts charging Chinese ships to dock at its ports

“In 2024, China built 60% of global large vessels—717 total—versus one US-built, per BRS Shipbrokers. American ships cost five times Asia’s. Fees could cripple COSCO, with HSBC estimating $1.5 billion in 2025 levies, slashing 2026 earnings by 75%. COSCO warned in April the fees “risk undermining the security, resilience, and orderly operation of global industrial and supply chains.” ”

Analysis suggests the tariffs have lowered U.S. GDP, reduced American household purchasing power, suppressed private investment, and cost jobs.

For some reason, AI seems to parrot socialist (the real brown shirt fascists) and Stalinist (communist black shirt) talking points preferentially over anything real. There is artificial intelligence, and then there is fraudulent globalist propaganda BS attributed to a network of socialist NGO sources, using circular references based on leftist position papers. Attributing these opinions to AI is the newest propaganda tool.

Well, ya got me at the end there Tex. Thought to be silent running for a day or three. The *measurement* of water bodies interests me greatly. I’d like to have a reasonable guestimate of how many gallons are in the puddle out front. I’ll provide parameters you solve and show your work. There will be a prize.

Sadly, though our lake was deep scanned every which way possible by teams of scientist (students) from University of Michigan and Michigan State U but … no one has the data files? Bet a depiction of those scans would be way cool.

    • I understand, Admiral. Now the problem, as I figure it – is like in aviation where we have to figure out the topology we’re flying over – hence the AGL above ground level and the ASL (above sea level) systems. The problem is figuring the “depth of the dirt (slope issues) around mountains. Since mnost of my flying has been in mountain country (PNW down to socal) the issue becomes knowing where the canyons are. This when freeway are useful and VFR rules. Very frightening Rides. (which is visual flight rules in depends).
Easiest estimate would be to calculate the approximate size of your lake – acre feet would be ogood. A lot of the lubbers (and lazy cartographerds) like to state a lake is of (thus and so) acres. You can assume (closely) that a whole lake is one acre foot deep. Then you eyebal the slope of surrounding lands (down to the water). If (you get lucky – talk to Mrs. E) and it’s 45 degrees downslope from shoe to lake bottom then a simple calculation acres in surface area x absolu te deapth (in feet) will give you “whole thing” acre feet. Sionce 45 degrees would give about one-half the water, then you have an idea.
Let’s say we have a 100 foot (max depth) lake. and it’s size is 200 acres. the whole of the area is 20,000 acre feet, but since there’s about half occupied by water, we can use 10,000 acre fees.
Hold that in your head – 10,000 acre feet.
Next we look up how many gallons in an acre foot of water (or other liquid, but sadly, no lakes of vodka have been discovbered unconsumed – I’ve looked.).
Now we get to the easy party (Glover’s engioneering RefDesk to the rescue) one acre foot is how much water? 325,851 gallons.
And since Mr. Ure picked a lazy math teacher example (I don’t work cheap, you know!) we take 325851 and take 0000 zeros on the end. The space in our commas. 3258510000 gallons Which then turns into 3.258,510,000 3.2 BILLION plus or minus a wet spot.
Now we scale. 2,000 ACRE LAKE (same slope assumptions)_ would be 32.5851 billion. A longer pee and a bigger 20,000 acre lake gets us to 328 billion – enough to rinse the bottoms of all landing geese – even those doing the aforementioend (a while back) U-turns on landing.
Where is begins to make my mind hurt is considering any of the Great Lakes. Lake Erie 9,940 odd square miles – 6-million plus acres. Average depth of Erie is known (62 feet) which is easier than estimating from 210 maximal depth and working back the slope angles because you’d spend weeks sounding and scanning.
I know you can owrk it from there, but this is the kind of question that drives me toward vodka time at 4 PM. With water.

      • Presacktly the roots Bear-on-the-Boat : we are 295 acre feet at surface with a max depth 105′ and a reasonable average on sloped bottom profile yielding 45′ (a conservative factor thrown in so as not to overstate the outcome).

I have considered taking lead soundings on a GPS grid but … it’s mostly to grasp the volume in gallons. The spring fed slow turnover combined with deep profile causes it to be said “anything you put in the lake will be there for 12 years).

It’s my desire to hang meat on that bone.
        For YC publication.
        Egor

    • Michigan State DNR has the map, however, don’t bet the bank on its accuracy. Dad fished a lake which the DNR map showed a max depth of 32 feet. After he’d run out 125 feet of anchor line (without hitting bottom) he decided the old man locals knew a lot more about that lake than MSU and the DNR…

      • Thanks Ray. I have every published map available. These are in prints on the wall here in the kitchen. On moving from town to lake Mrs. E stumbled across a parchment printed 3×4′ version circa 1947. That’s 10 years before my folks bought. Bet Army Core of Engineers took soundings on a grid. So, that’s close enough for horseshoes and my porpoises too. ~ Egor

      feat: X marks the spot

      Folks,
Nutty season is upon us. Apparently it has been three score years this month since Secret Squirrel, aka Agent 000, premiered on NBC under tutelage of Double-Q.

Ogden, Ut. had been twinned a decade before with the town of Hof (“Court [yard?]”), Bavaria. Tourists to the latter sing praise about its local sausage hotpot, schnitz. It seems Hof already stood as seat of a Germanic tribe under the Suebi (“One’s Own”) confederation at the time of their wars with Roman legions in the second century ad.

Ogden according to “Wikipedia” is named after British fur trader and brother of an early Province of Canada Premier, Peter Ogden. The alleged polygamist is credited with an alleged murder during the “fur trade wars”. It seems that his first posting in the business took him to Île-à-la-Crosse (“Cross Island”) known to local northern Saskatchewan First Nation tribespeople as “big opening where the waters meet”.

Before taking leafe, hopefully it’s not inappropriate to note the suebian knots-like hair fashion of the widow in Phoenix. Interestingly the Varisci tribe of Hof are said to share a common entymology with variscite, formerly called utahlite. Some believe the mineral aids emotional control and connecting with your inner self. As chance would have it, according to the “Oregon Encyclopedia”, trader-explorer Mr. Peter Ogden should be the first credited for documenting Mount Shasta on his expedition of 1826-27.

  6. (“Focus on the Important events”)

AKA.. the march of the moron parade… what could go wrong with the events of our politicians doing what they are doing.. Argentina is in the lithium triangle.. china and Russia has been trying to get them into an agreement..assist them with their economic turnaround.. we can see how that has helped with Zimbabwe in just one year their economic situation has benefitted from the assistance..then the threatening to weaponize the IMF…with the currency that is headed in the very direction they had made .cutting the supply lines with industrial china..if the USA does what he’s threatening Argentina won’t have any recourse but to lean towards Bric’s for help . for what forty billion … underestimating Russia is the path of potential tradgic results.. cutting supply lines and promoting greed was the long game..opening the borders to tens of millions of illegals was pure stupidity in motion.. the used the long game chess move if you want my opinion.. the poison pawn trap..use greed and the deviant lifestyles of the wealthy to get us dependent on their industry.. you don’t think they wouldn’t sacrifice children to the pedos to handing out drugs to the family business for nothing. they were sacrificial pawns to gain entrance..
I was visiting with a gentleman the other day..when he was in Vietnam.. he was scheduled to be going home but noticed something.. the enemy would have young women running in the fields naked . to entice the soldiers to go after them in hope of having sex..a ploy used often.. he went to the flight orders and asked if they could put on his flight order .can’t be bumped off.. which they did.. see officers could bump an enlisted off a flight out.. so he got his flight out three days later the enemy had taken the base.. the old military ploy..him seeing the action going on in the field from his what four tours there was common . they did the same thing with our industry leaders and politicians..promote greed and offer what the deviants wanted..come in behind us as we destroy their countries and offer support for their alliances..
now we are faced with the results.. damned if you do damned if you don’t.. we are on to many fronts . have our debt ratio turned upside down.. neglecting our infrastructure and the citizens of the country on essential services.. it’s all in Adolph’s second book to..the politician playbook

    • When I was in boot camp..they did the same thing .. warned all the recruits to make sure this hole in the fence was secure..as we got closer to it there were young ladies from town outside the fence near the hole..the guy I was with said hey lets go over..but we didn’t.. when we got back there was MPs hauling in the guys doing fire watch that was behind us..
you would assume since we use the exact same tactics..that the politicians being swayed by the long game know how this works..that maybe they would have worked to avoid it not embrace it and get sucked in..

    • (“Focus on the Important events”)

How ’bout focusing on writing something which makes sense?

Argentina is special. It, like Spain (under Franco) adopted fascism — actually a more radical form than Italy’s, but without an ethnic component like Nazism. This is the reason so many Nazis fled to Argentina when the Reich collapsed. The fascists’ form of socialism is no better than the communists’ form, and they drove Argentina, a nation wealthy in resources, into the depths of poverty, where it has remained nearly to this day. Their HOS, Javier Milei, has been called the Argentine Donald Trump. He’s a highly-respected professor of (the Smith school of) economics. He has run the show down there for about two years now, and is slowly but surely dragging the Argentine economy and its people, kicking and screaming, out of the poverty they’ve been stuck in, for the past 90 years. Trump has thrown Milei a $20bln life preserver, and as of this afternoon was poking around to secure another minimum $20bln in private investment funds for Argentina. I haven’t looked into this yet. I’m guessing the cash is a gift or zero-cost loan, but contingent on the country keeping the commies, fascists, and BRICS out…

      • Boy thats a deep reflection from my chair…Heres what i see and my opinion from the moron in the wastelands to those with a higher edjumification than me..what I see is Argentina’s history is complex, no doubt Similar to our support of the Azov in Ukraine in the hopes of acquiring the benefit of trillions of dollars of natural resources — but today’s decisions aren’t about the past, they’re about the future. Right now, Argentina is one of the few nations in South America actively resisting BRICS influence and leaning toward Western partnerships. That alone makes it a strategic ally worth supporting.Milei’s reforms may be controversial, but they’re aimed at breaking a cycle of economic stagnation that’s lasted decades. If the U.S. helps stabilize Argentina — through investment, trade, and diplomacy — we gain more than just an ally. We gain access to critical resources like lithium, food, and energy, and we reinforce democratic values in a region where authoritarian models are gaining ground. This isn’t about ideology — it’s about positioning. A strong, sovereign Argentina aligned with the West strengthens our hemisphere, secures supply chains, and counters global rivals. Ignoring that opportunity would be a strategic mistake…. the other reason I see this as essential is..If Argentina were to align with BRICS, it wouldn’t just be an economic shift — it could become a strategic one. Russia and China have already expanded their influence in Latin America through military cooperation and infrastructure deals, especially in places like Cuba and Venezuela and aligning these countries that we march in take then leave.. Russia and China play good cop bad cop in this case its good country bad country then as we leave they come in and apologize for our behaviors…. Argentina joining BRICS could open the door to similar arrangements port access, surveillance infrastructure, or even joint military exercises. That’s not speculation — it’s pattern recognition of a complex puzzle from where I sit. China’s support for Cuba includes telecom infrastructure and satellite tracking stations. Russia has used BRICS ties to deepen defense relationships across the Global South. If Argentina joins that bloc, it risks becoming another foothold for authoritarian powers in the Western Hemisphere.Keeping Argentina aligned with the U.S. and democratic partners isn’t just about trade — it’s about preventing strategic encirclement. Geography matters in this case of the game ofo Risk we are playing. So does allegiance. It’s the “good cop, bad cop” routine — but played out on a global scale. We show up with conditions, warnings, and short-term aid. Then we leave. Russia and China step in with smiles, no lectures, and long-term infrastructure deals. They apologize for our ‘bad manners’ and sign agreements that shift influence for decades. If we don’t engage with respect and strategy, we lose allies not because they hate democracy and our history of come in take then leave..We have a pattern — and it’s not a flattering one in my opinion..but then who am I the old moron from the wastelands giving his opinion..I don’t have any edjumification no status and heck I am at the bottom of the tier of society. From where i sit we come in under the banner of peace, destabilize, extract, then leave like Vietnam and the oil once we got it we left. Libya is still bleeding from what we called liberation once the people happy and their need met now they are impoverished and destitute. Syria is a graveyard of promises. And each time, we say it was necessary. Strategic. Moral. But the wreckage tells another story. If we want allies like Argentina to trust us, we have to break that horrible negative pattern that we have gotten.. a very bad reputation we are like the girl in school with the reputation as the sure thing — but because they feel abandoned or disrespected. Argentina is a prime example. If we walk away, BRICS won’t hesitate. And once those agreements are signed, we’re not just losing trade — we’re losing strategic ground in our own hemisphere. This isn’t about being the nicest country. It’s about being the most trusted one make a deal then stick to our word. And trust requires presence, respect, and long-term vision.

        • Much better. I didn’t mean to sound critical, but you left so many proper nouns out of your first post that I couldn’t make heads, nor tails of what you were trying to say.

BTW, I haven’t studied up on Millei — just came across him when I was researching Sergio Mendez, after his passing. They are both of Italian ancestry, which I found fascinating because I was under the (not quite accurate) impression that majority migrants into South America were Spaniards and Portuguese…

    • Loobster,

Youse may have overlooked the pending Chicom invasion of Tieoneon, that is coming very soonly.

Worse part of that dark scenario ? Hawaii becomes ground zero of this “conflict”, echoing back to my Grand Fathers youngest Brother.
He was a CW 5 SeaBee stationed in Hawaii during attack on Pearl Harbor. An MIT grad who refused Rank, he worked alongside his Men, always.
He used to crank call my Mom, as a UDT/SEAL commanding officer, she almost always fell for his shenanigans, no matter who he was claiming to be.
He always told me he and his OG SeaBee crew were the original UDT operators. Funny thing was he was not fibbing. He was my Fav “Uncle” – even threw a going away party for me when I left to fullfill my enlistment obligation. Same guy who would always hang my ass down a 3rd flr Laundry chute by the ankles, to unhook stuck shirts for them. Many, many great and funny tales regards “Jr”, a family legend that I aspire to emulate as I am ageing into my GrandPa role.

But Yeah – great oppty to invest in US based Chip manufacturers, as TSMC going into CRISIS mode soonly. Besides, gROME been printing so hard these past 10-15 years, we have not had down year (BEARish) EVER in that period- thats sick. The outrageous recent Price runs in precious metals should have EVRYONE soundiong an ALARM – Something is wong in Global Finance, terribly wong.

Serious CAUTION advised going forward – but I think most on here already suspect..

Good Luckski to Allski, wese gonna need itski

  7. The Elon Musk video you linked to is a fake. Here’s it’s disclaimer:

“Disclaimer: This is a fan-made channel, and its content is not affiliated with Elon Musk or his companies. The videos are inspired by Elon Musk’s public statements and ideas for informational, educational and motivational purposes only, using a synthesized voice that does not belong to Elon Musk.”

He may never have actually made any of the statements in the video! They’re merely “inspired” by his statements, which means they could have assembled words he’s said in any manner to say anything they chose to say.

There are so many fake videos now that I frequently check the descriptions following them before I’ll watch one.

  8. Assuming this isn’t fake news the prophecy of expatriates will come to pass soon enough. That’s how it works, right?

Cartels issuing bounties up to $50,000 for hits on ICE, CBP agents: DHS

There is credible intelligence that members of Mexican drug cartels have offered a “tiered” bounty system for hits against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

  9. 4227/52.60 what is that telling us ol farts?

Last long passage took us near a large charted sea mount where the depth was 60M and probably was a good fishing area. The swell was big across it though and we were very happy to ease by it without getting beam on slammed too much. In the ‘olden days’ when I first ventured about, besides not having a very accurate knowledge of my own position, most of those currently noted places on your chart plotter were simply not there and all you had was observation of much larger swell as you passed over.
I love modern navigation tools but still keep paper charts, sextant, and time piece just in case.
Meanwhile, where are those huge underwater ‘bases’?
    Stiks
Hank… hang on, you are just getting started.

    • FYI, Last night, I spent 3 hours attempting to read your book on my Kindle. It is formatted so that it only appears as 2 side by side pages. In order to be able to read the tiny text, I had to expand a quarter page, and move the page around to see.
I finally gave up with a headache. I’ll keep it & try reading on my large desktop PC when I can get back to it, because it’s a great story.

They told her it was a conspiracy theory. She set out to prove it, and instead, it proved her entire worldview wrong.

I’m guessing, based on his outfit, this is from the Turning Point convo that Glenn subbed into, a week or so ago. I tried to find it on TheBlaze and couldn’t (because it’s behind his paywall, and I don’t steal) but…

  13. …I did find this:

Glenn Beck issues chilling warning: ‘This is the new nuclear weapon’

While the Israel-Hamas ceasefire is dominating the news cycle and letting citizens of the world breathe mass sighs of relief, Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck believes there’s something brewing silently — and we should remain on our toes.

“Beijing just tightened its grip on rare earth elements. These are the minerals that make absolutely everything possible: your smartphone, your electric car, your missile defense system, your refrigerator. Everything depends on these rare earth minerals,” Glenn says.

“China, because of our inaction and stupid policies over the last couple of decades, control now 80% of the world’s supply chain. That cannot stand. Now, what they’re doing is they’re choking it off. They are now closing it up, and they are threatening the West, ‘No more rare earth minerals,’” he explains.

    • I actually have a similar kit.. I love it and this is a great reminder that I have to feed and make a loaf of bread when I get home today. I have these coming ….https://youtu.be/9X7KvtjWwr0?si=dP4rMgA2M707FHNP
I was hoping to give these out for xmas.. the cost was just double the cost of the kit.. and perfect for those with a hectic schedule..but the shipping has now been backed up to march..I bake two or three loaves of bread a week..I had gotten a 50g of the yeast that the prof at Harvard resurrected out of the bread jars of king tut..I got one loaf out of it.. I wasn’t use to the feeding schedule and attempted to grow enough of it to share.. unfortunately I killed it..took me a year of contacting anyone and everyone I knew that had connections to the group there to get the starter.. I did make some very good rolls out of it..

    • I just got a young lady inspired to make cheese and gave her a cheese kit.. she is from ukraine and is just starting her dance with the devil at hospital collections.. this would be amazing to do..
I feel for them.. illness hit and loss of a high paying position..there’s no job around the wastelands that will pay enough to meet the taxes on their home much less the payments and from personal experience dealing with Satan and the insurance companies.. they will lose everything but I won’t be the one to inform her of what I see ..its their dance with the devil I’ve already done that dance to many times now.I gave their boy an old bike and have given some food.. ( children should be children not worry about adult issues) The hard realizations that the let me help programs like food stamps or heating assistance doesn’t apply to someone that had a good paying position..like unemployment isn’t for the unemployed its for the seasonal worker…been there done that..got notice today about my cow is at the locker.. in an hour I will see how much room they have for meat.. teaching her how to make some of the few things that give one a quality of life.. pasta and cheese bread the basics..
