Most people imagine World War III as a sudden event barrage: missiles, collapsing markets and armies moving everywhere at once. But what if modern great-power war is learning to move much more slowly—through drones, sanctions, energy pressure, shipping disruption, cyberwarfare and the steady depletion of money, weapons and political patience?
In today’s Peoplenomics we look at the possibility that the real objective is no longer simply to capture territory, but to outlast the competing socioeconomic systems. If that is the emerging model, then the key question for 2027 may not be who is winning the war, but whose economy, society and political structure is aging fastest under “inflammation warfare” load?

Shorter answer is simply child abraham outlasts child of esau. Comminwealth has a couple.
Westley: Roberts had grown so rich, he wanted to retire. He took me to his cabin and he told me his secret. ‘I am not the Dread Pirate Roberts’ he said. ‘My name is Ryan; I inherited the ship from the previous Dread Pirate Roberts, just as you will inherit it from me. The man I inherited it from is not the real Dread Pirate Roberts either. His name was Cummerbund. The real Roberts has been retired 15 years and living like a king in Patagonia.’

crazy times. alright. stormy seas.
why is the rum always gone?

Hmmmmmm,
Me thinks you got the wrong Pirate there Swabby.
We needs to go back in time to PSU and the advent of the Dark Net, and Bitcoins to locate the real Dred Pirate Robert.
DPR is one of my modern day HERO’S, but alas I think he might still be serving time on those tRUMPED up charges.
If not for Dred Pirate Robert, Dark Net and Nor Cal “Sinnsie”, I might not have been forced to be an early adopter of the Bitcoins.

It’s important to note, that when delving into the navigation of the complexities of the rich tapestry of AI word saladry, no known cases of cyclospora have been attributed to it. Moreover, it is a testament to this pivital role of hygenic AI filler that it plays a crucial role in maintaining a gas free reading environment in today’s fast paced, ever-evolving landscape of reader comments. This highlights and underscores the importance of AI contributions fostering game-changing dribble which unlock and harness the potential power of machine sanitized bullshit.
In conclusion, it is ultimately the game-changing practice of article skimming which has ushered in acceptance of AI nothingburger articles and commentary, furthermore, at the heart of this paradigm shift is likely also a high degree of lack of reading comprehension, which underscores the importance of keeping shit simple, stupid. Viva la Hemingway.
Well played. You managed to work cyclospora, gas-free reading, “pivital” hygienic filler, paradigm shifts, nothingburgers and machine-sanitized bullshit into one comment. Somewhere, a corporate communications department is wondering where its style manual went.
But I think you’re blaming the machine for something humans perfected long before AI showed up.
That was much of the point behind my book *Downsizing: Missing Collapse of Empire*. The deeper problem isn’t artificial intelligence. It is **ad-funded dissatisfaction with life** combined with an economic system that has come to depend on perpetual growth. When you install “Interest” on any fiat system, you require growth – and that’s the “fertilizer” sold as a friction reducer that causes the growth cancer to metastasize.
AI didn’t invent word salad. It didn’t invent clickbait, SEO sludge, breathless headlines, planned obsolescence, endless upgrades, corporate bafflegab or 1,500-word articles containing 150 words of actual information. Human operators did that because somebody discovered that attention could be captured, dissatisfaction could be manufactured, and both could be monetized.
Once that model worked, everything had to become more.
More clicks. More content. More impressions. More transactions. More subscribers. More devices. More bandwidth. More “engagement.” More hours staring into screens. More reasons to believe that whatever you own, know, look like or believe today is somehow inadequate and requires a purchase tomorrow.
There is a fairly simple biological lesson buried in all this that economics prefers not to discuss:
**Growth without purpose or restraint eventually has another name: cancer.**
And I suspect civilization crossed that line with electronica decades ago. We simply didn’t recognize it at the time.
Radio increased the flow of information. Television multiplied it. Cable multiplied the channels. The Internet made information effectively unlimited. Social media completed the transition by turning every waking minute of human attention into something that could be measured, packaged and sold.
At that point, information was no longer necessarily being produced because someone had something worth saying. Increasingly, information was being produced because **producing more information made money**.
AI arrived very late to that party.
It didn’t build the economic machine. It walked into a factory humans had already constructed, found the production line running three shifts, and demonstrated that the same informational filler could now be manufactured faster and cheaper.
So I’m with you on Hemingway, but perhaps for a different reason.
Short words. Hard verbs. High information density. Say something worth saying and then shut up.
Because in an economy increasingly dependent on distracting you, frightening you, irritating you or making you dissatisfied long enough to sell you something, **clarity and contentment may be among the most economically subversive acts left.**
Before AI we called out Social Media in our Peoplenomics research as a major risk but at the root of it all is interest demanding payment. From there thing pyramid – and yeah – that’s when living lightly on the Earth went bye-bye.
(I’m working on a PN piece of “functional length of life – an alternative vidw ofs longevity.”
Good comments.
