When Price Stops Mattering

Most people think nothing much is happening right now. Markets are drifting, headlines are recycled, and the sense of urgency feels muted. That’s usually when I start paying closer attention. Because the biggest moves rarely begin with noise — they begin with compression. Right now, a series of structural indicators suggest we’re coiled inside a tightening range. That doesn’t guarantee direction. But it does suggest expansion is coming.

At the same time, the bigger forces shaping the next decade are quietly accelerating. Insurance markets are thinning. Commercial real estate debt is rolling forward into a tightening credit cycle. Wage growth is slowing while AI is beginning to reallocate routine thinking across entire industries. None of this screams “crisis.” But together, it forms a pattern — one that rewards people who model the most likely future early, instead of reacting to it late.

Inside, we’re not trading headlines. We’re trading structure — and adjusting capital, skills, and generational plans accordingly. Compression never lasts forever. The only real question is whether you’re positioned before the expansion begins.

Comments are reviewed by a human because the web is crawling with spammers. Submissions after 4 PM Central usually appear the following morning. After you click Post Comment, you’ll jump back to the top of this article, but your comment is queued up here. We’ve got a robust community and your participation is invited. Some commenters are brilliant. Read a few and judge for yourself. Imagine. You could be one.
  1. Try giving a good AI (not the free stuff) access to your previous writings, and then ask it to write tomorrow’s post.

The only thing missing will be your personal opinions on issues. Perhaps readers will realize the true worth of your interpretations.

    • That is so easy it would be passe – seriously – as I have written elsewhere, it’s the human’s higher-0order function to bring judgement to the ai party -it’s here to do the dirty work (boring stuff).
The art is in learning what your own true highest values are. n Just in the last week, I “found” 2-hours a week by simnply7 having ai explain how I could do a better – faster jobs on the ChartPack over on the subscriber side, Now insterad of dreading the PN writing (grind) it has lightened because now the copy paste from excel into word is done for me – whicvh leaves more time for deeper thinking on the useful stuff. It is – every sense of it – a Mind Amplifier,

  2. George who had Epstein snuffed ?

Regarding the mechanics of his death, this is my guess …

… Three people went up the Special Housing Unit stair case to strangle and murder Epstein … two went up the stair case at the same time and one, holding the excessive orange linen and the two unused orange nooses found in the cell, was on the outside of the stair case creating the orange blur seen on the one working camera at 1039 PM. Two of the three overpowered Epstein holding him face down and holding down both of his wrists with resulting autopsy contusions to both wrists and an abrasion to one forearm, while one put a knee into his shoulder causing a shoulder deep muscle hemorrhage and forcefully garroted him with a rope/cord across the midneck with a postmortum deep groove in that anterior midneck area and contusion on the back of his neck (rather than ligature grooves in the neck immediately under the mandible as is seen in suicidal hangings)and causing petechial hemorrhages of the faces, lids, and conjunctiva, and bilateral fractures of the thyroid bone and unilateral fracture of the hyoid bone – all as seen in homicidal strangulations … After the murder, the three turned the body to its back to confirm the kill. The three then left the cell, taking the garrote device(no blood or tissue was found on the unused nooses or the copious orange cloth material in the cell), and stayed close to the inner wall of the stairwell out of the single camera’s view and/or during the missing camera footage. The guards’ story is that they were asleep … The post-mortum lividity was on the posterior surfaces of the body, the dependent portion of the body as the murderers left the body face-up … (rather than the lower legs as it should have been if Epstein was actually found hanging from the bed … ) No specific details were provided in the autopsy on the stomach contents which could have provided an approximation of actual time of death …

    • Without giving away your whole history TEF, you could at least mention a bit of your bio-background lest people underweight your comments which I take most seriously. Tell the people your specialties -please?

    • Yo genius –

Notice epSTAIN Nose and its features. Compare said Nose features to Dbls Nose features, then compare side by side.

Now – we need to take into account Body Hair. Notice the all the Body Hair covering the Dbls exterior ? Did you see it all over his Body ? Good.

Now we compare those body hair pictures to each and every available picture of epSTAIN shirtless. Do you see what I am talking about here ?

There is NO BODY HAIR on epSTAIN in any archive pictures – ZERO – his skin is like that a Hairless Reptile, sans raised scales.

Enter the ding-ding-ding give that man a cheroot thing ^ as to pick what isn’t a thing yet but will be a thing later and take a stake. In my experience, all the major gains are out there where the puck is headed.

GU : “… Investing is Like Sailing. The math? Well, that’s a cross between Sailing Directions, the Coast Pilot, and reports from other mariners. …”

Look upcourse. Watch for shifts but, stay the course on long term destination. Find VMG (velocity made good) and get there early. You needn’t be first around the mark just remain in contact with the leaders.

Every nautical chart worth spit has a disclaimer : Not for Navigational Purposes. That’s what charts are for but their lawyers made them put that on every stinkin’ hard copy ever. None of my comments are for navigation either.

Doubt it, or Ure competitiion is the Geritol National Gray Admirals RT .

1st thing – Get the Lead anyway you can – key phrase, “anyway”. Deny to the End if you get caught cheating the Start.

2nd thing – Never ever give up Lead once you have, ever. This means “do what it takes”

3 rd – If you aint CURSING up a Blue Storm, you are Not Sailing..properly.

There is no TRY, only Doers and Losers, or as my sainted Grand Mother always used to tell me, “If you aint Cheating lil TBS, you aint trying hard enough.”

      • Spoken and written like someone who has never commanded in a race. Unless you can race a boat to its rating, maybe wanna step back from old farts with water under the keel. Egor has won many and coached many more… Oh, and the cursing up a storm? Amateur day amongst club racers. Not a fraction of a knot there. Scratching the mast when becalmed? Aye, there’s an art to it.
In a real race, everyone’s listening for guidance from the help and the tactician on the meter board and there’s never a need to swear. No knots to it. Clubbies with open ETOH aboard? In real racing and cruising, no booze – not even a beer until the hook’s down and the boat secured. No shore liberty till all’s well and a watch is set.
Your tone is of a mutineer, not a skipper and surely not an admiral. One over the line early and the really great foredeck gorillas will find another ride. Smoothly-run ship is the first victory – order of finish? Doesn’t matter so much with PHRF rules. Order of finish works out at the after party in big races. Unless yotu have two well matched boats all running same rating Like the J-Boat crowd.

  4. The poor boys candy…ready for a treat…
you buy oranges..kids like them sliced in quarter’s… peel the skin off..
now most toss those feelings in the trash..
slice the White pith off to just about the skin..this part is bitter.. then place them in a pot with water sugar and a tables spoon of vanilla..
boil them till the skins are tender in that simple syrup.. take them out place them n a dehydrator rack and dust them with sugar ..dehydrate dry them..
My father use to make a candy from banana peelings
he would cut the feelings into squares..
    enjoy this depression era recipe..
    Ingredients
Banana peels (yellow, not green) either leave them whole or cut in squares
    Sugar, Water
A little butter or lard (optional, for shine)
    Method
Wash the banana peels well to remove any residue …
Slice the peels into thin strips (like narrow ribbons).
Boil the strips Or squares in plain water for 10–15 minutes to soften them and remove bitterness.
Drain, then return them to the pot with:
    enough water to barely cover
equal amount of sugar (1 cup water : 1 cup sugar)
Simmer until the syrup thickens and the peels turn translucent.
Remove the strips and lay them on a greased plate or waxed paper or on your silicone sheet for the dehydrator…
Roll in a little extra sugar if desired.
place them in the dehydrator until tacky or firm — depending on your personal preference…

ok here’s another one and one I ensuga
    Apple peeling chips..
    Ingredients
    Apple peels
    Sugar or cinnamon sugar
A little butter, lard, or nothing at all

    Method
Spread the apple peels on a baking sheet or a cast?iron pan.
    Lightly grease them (optional).
    Sprinkle with:
    sugar
    cinnamon sugar
or nothing (many families used no sugar at all I personally like the sugar )
Bake at a low heat (around 200–250°F) until crisp or put them in your dehydrator.m
In the Depression, they dried them near the wood stove or in the oven after baking bread.

Let cool — they crisp as they cool sprinkle them with sugar…A must if you ask me…

    Ok the last one lol..
potato skin chips…the grand j d’s use to love me making these..
    Ingredients
Potato skins (russet skins work best)

A little oil, lard, or bacon drippings

    Salt

Optional: pepper, paprika, garlic salt, or whatever was on hand

    Method
Wash the potatoes well before peeling.
(Most families scrubbed them hard because the skins were going to be eaten. we still scrub them before peeling them..)

    https://www.amazon.com/Ergonomic-Easy-Grip-Stainless-Vegetable-Cucumbers/dp/B0G34DH51L/ref=sxin_17_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?

Save the peels in a bowl of cold water to keep them from browning.
Dry the skins well — this is important for crisping.
Toss lightly with fat: a spoonful of oil, or melted lard or bacon grease (very common in the 1930s)and bacon grease is still a keeper today here..we just deep fat fried them..
Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet or cast?iron pan.
Bake at 375–400°F until crisp and golden we would deep fat fry them..
Usually 12–20 minutes depending on thickness.
In the Depression, they were often cooked in the oven after bread or a roast came out, using leftover heat.

    • You DO know all those fruits are now covered with a, nearly impossible to wash off, carcinogenic chemical preservative, right?

      • Oops I forgot to mention you always should wash all fruit or vegetables prior to peeling or consumption…in water with baking soda in it scrubbing the thick skinned vegetables.. at the local grocery store here that I shop at except for the prepackaged fruit and vegetables and of course bananas they are washed in the back room to remove that wax coating. The new coating isn’t a wax exactly but a new Coating of various starches garageycerine with .Sodium o-phenylphenate is now used they make your fruit and vegetables pop in color and keeps the fruit fresh looking.. back when I worked produce they even had a shellac coating.. once washed then a quick dip in boiling water to remove the remaining …. I don’t know how the big high volume grocers do it..but we trimmed lettuce before bagging and carrots got a quick wash and trimming..on the pre packaged we always wash our vegetables and fruit..even from our own apple tree since we spray it..
its just something we do all the time here..over twenty years working part time an day labor at grocery stores as one of my hats just has it a normal thing.. another thing I use is hydrogen peroxide..Either soak them or spray them then rinse off..but to remove the Carcinogens like like TBZ or imazalil you have to wash them in baking soda water and the quick dip..
the other thing we do is buy food that’s in the natural foods section ..

        • They’re using Bill Gates’ carcinoshellac now — even on natural and organic fruits & veggies. The only escape from this crap (at present) is to shop at your local farmer’s market and only buy the stuff that’s locally-produced…

          …OR use Eat-Cleaner

          https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DFZ1WWTC

(Or make your own: Water, citric acid, sodium citrate, salt, glycerin, potassium sorbate, thymol, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, and calcium ascorbate {I assume in that order}, most of which are already on your soapmaking shelf…)

        • That actually sounds like the orange or lemon peel cleaner I make for the stove and counter tops.. I think I’m going to buy some and try it out…
That recipe for my counter spray is
          2 cups of water
          1 ounce baking soda
1 tsp.. citric acid or.. 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
          1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of food grade orange oil
I make my own orange oil orange peels in an oil infuser.. and citrus hydrosol by distilling orange peels..

  5. Halfway to April 1st…. Nostradamus said it all collapses like a house of cards before then. Spooky. What will collapse? Expectations unmanaged. One thing for sure…. more Marches in the hopper.

    • Hmm… People love to throw Nostradamus into every moment of tension, but the truth is simple: no one — not even Nostradamus — knows the day, date, or time of anything that significant. And history shows that the future isn’t fixed. One small change in events, one decision, one unexpected shift in circumstances can completely alter the outcome.

Predictions only feel “accurate” when people look backward and connect the dots after the fact. But life doesn’t move in straight lines. It moves like a river — one rock shifts, one branch falls, one current changes like the Mississippi river in flood times, and the entire flow changes and with it borders shifts.

So when someone says “it all collapses by April 1st,” that’s not prophecy no matter how close it is to the predictions.. That’s fear mixed with imagination and an assumption .. Real collapse — when it happens — is never on a schedule. It’s shaped by our choices, pressures, and human behavior, not by a date on a calendar. Now Stu is hitting it out of the park in his translations.. even with that..the big what if..what if someone in the assumed predictions read Stu’s blog or books and made one minor change..then the whole event changes the path it was on possibly to the very same end results but the time element changes….. I use to take out the main scientist that was responsible for the Apollo space missions to the moon…his big thing was quantum theory.. And this is where the quantum bubble theory fits perfectly. Reality isn’t a single straight line marching toward a fixed date on a calendar. It’s a branching system — a field of possibilities where one small shift can change the entire outcome. A delayed decision, a different conversation, a single unexpected event can push us into a completely different “bubble” of reality. That’s why no one, not even Nostradamus, can name a specific day or hour even though he had a medallion on his body and when grave robbers broke in..it had the day date and time engraved on it lol lol. The future isn’t a scheduled collapse; it’s a constantly shifting stream shaped by countless tiny variables. Treating it like a fixed prophecy ignores how life actually works. His favorite saying was..just think about it……

The only thing we can say with certainty is that nothing is predetermined, and the future is always being rewritten by the smallest decisions we make along the way.

  6. George and everyone: THIS IS SERIOUS:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1cMi9eaP3k

It appears that there is a coordinated and unadvertised war on not just 3D printers, but micromanufacturing in general and even the data files that exchange information to let it happen. Censorship of the worst kind!

As usual, they’re starting with gun hysteria, as if you actually needed a 3D printer to make a gun. From my perspective, it ties directly to Right to Repair, and Right to Manufacture anything at home or in a small shop. It seems to be coordinated between states, and the details are in the video and others he’s put out. I first heard of this a few minutes ago and it’s hard to believe it exists, since it’s a direct assault on the first and fourth amendments, and probably others too. IMHO, if we don’t stand for freedom, there’s nothing left to stand for at all!

    • Grasshopper, this is why, when one acquired HTTrack (the website copier) to mirror the website of a certain fellow from out in the desert, who had a really eclectic and esoteric collection of information, they would retain the site-ripping tool to use on 3dP archives, places like Allrecipes, Kurt Saxon’s archives, and other interesting websites whose time in etherspace may be limited.

Purely out of respect I’ve never ripped any of George’s sites, but I’ve always felt someone should (actually I feel George should, and make the rip available yearly, on a thumbdrive, for a nominal additional fee to only PN subscribers…)

      • Agree totally! The real problem is that there’s more good information out there than a human has time in his life to download and organize. Perhaps an AI bot that can curate info, but that takes time too. It’s only within the last year that I have a decent fast connection. Perhaps we can consider some place to cross pollinate with this valuable information!

        • Remember the list of URLs I sent George a few years back, which sourced esoteric places to buy stuff (like Surplus Sales of Nebraska and AllElectronics)?

Somewhere I have one or two laying around, which might be more prescient to both the moment and the topic. I’ll see if I can dig one up and publish it in the next few days…

        • As for cross-pollination, George has now set-up PN with a firewalled comments section. Nobody’s using it yet, but I assume he put it there so it will be instantly available when he moves his entire site-cluster behind paywalls.

Frankly, I can’t think of anyone I’d trust more, for such an archive…

        • @TOBD

Surplus center was on my list. George published it both on US and on ultramake.

It’s back about three computers, so I’m not sure I can find that exact list again…

“China will grant zero-tariff access for imports from 53 African nations starting May 1, 2026, enhancing its trade relations across the continent. This decision arrives amid uncertainty regarding the U.S. renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and ongoing trade tensions with the EU. “

  12. re: fishing for Hermetic Codes
    feat: 11th Olympiad

Yesterday the President of the Ukraine entered the Munich Security Conference flanked on the front row by the German defence minister along with two others attired in running shoes. Their sporting footwear featured the three bands of that Bavarian brand founded by a future member of the nazi party. The firm’s headquarters remain at Herzogenaurach (literally: “Duke/army leader on the river stream”). Let our Black History Month mention of the day recall American Mr. Jesse Owens winning four gold medals at the 11th Olympiad in 1936 while wearing the German branded running shoes.

Self-styled ‘radical’ Russian Telegram channel “Heavenly Oreshnik’s Wrath” presently recalls the Ukrainian President’s promise to exit from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The channel goes on to claim Ukraine has experienced recent mass poisonings and increased earthquake activity perhaps indicative of underground nuclear testing.

Apparently the Ukraine experiences an average of 10 earthquakes per year of magnitude 4 and greater. Anecdotal review of the following “Earthquake list” webpage would suggest that the Ukraine has experienced 15 such quakes in the past 12 months:

She mentioned Obama and aliens to say he was going to talk “aliens” to take over the “Obama” narrative, so no one would notice that (according to the Epstein dump), he’d been to the Island many more times than Willy, and that he had a penchant for sexcapades with underage boys.

  14. Reid Hoffman Lies About Why He Funded a Fake Rape Victim

Reid Hoffman blatantly lied about why he funded E. Jean Carroll’s lawsuit against Donald Trump. No one anywhere would believe Carroll’s ridiculous case. It was 100% political. The corrupt New York court found Trump guilty of touching her, not rape. She accused him of raping her in a women’s dressing room after she invited him in. Carroll said it was exciting and couldn’t even remember what year it allegedly happened. It is also important to note that E. Jean was a serial accuser. She accused at least seven men of raping her.

IN RETREAT: LGBTQ Mafia Loses More Than Half Its Fortune 500 Partners

The Human Rights Campaign has long employed mafia-like tactics to pressure companies to toe the line on gender ideology, but a growing chorus of critics, assisted by President Donald Trump’s second administration, has led companies to reconsider their alliances with the organization. About three-quarters of all Fortune 500 companies (377) disclosed their business practices to HRC in 2025, so the LGBTQ activist group could rate them on its Corporate Equity Index. This year, however, only 131 companies are working with HRC—a 65% drop.

AOC accuses Israel of genocide in Germany where Holocaust was launched, sparking outrage

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., alleged at the Munich Security Conference on Friday that U.S. aid to the Jewish state enabled a genocide by Israel.
