“Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for June 2024, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $704.3 billion, virtually unchanged (±0.5 percent)* from the previous month, but up 2.3 percent (±0.5 percent) above June 2023. Total sales for the April 2024 through June 2024 period were up 2.5 percent (±0.5 percent) from the same period a year ago. The April 2024 to May 2024 percent change was revised from up 0.1 percent (±0.4 percent)* to up 0.3 percent (±0.2 percent).”

Imports

The price index for U.S. imports was unchanged in June, after declining 0.2 percent the previous month. The May decrease was the only 1-month decline recorded in the first half of 2024. Prices for U.S. imports advanced 1.6 percent for the year ended in June, the largest 12-month increase since a 3.2-percent rise in December 2022.

Exports

U.S. export prices decreased 0.5 percent in June, after declining 0.7 percent the previous month. The June and May drops were the first 1-month decreases since December 2023. Lower prices for nonagricultural exports in both months more than offset higher agricultural prices. Despite the recent declines, prices for U.S. exports advanced 0.7 percent over the past 12 months.

Dow Futures were up 65 and S&P futures up 8-and change after the data.

Anger Levels Rising

I have noticed a “sense of anger” among a few of my colleagues this week and it’s hard to put my finger on what’s driving it.  Has something to do with the upcoming election, obviously. Here, Donald Trump has about a 2.2 percent lead over Joe Biden in the presidential composite polling by FiveThirtyEight.

But what has surprised me is the level of emotion.  One colleague telling me I was wrong for thinking Trump was ahead.  He insisted Trump was not.  After a bit of research, though, the reason I may have been thought wrong was that I was looking at a “polling site” but there is also a “simulation” site which has Biden winning 53 times out of 100 while Trump wins 47 out of 100.

Honestly, the answers to most differences in people’s opinions is usually traceable back to their information sources. And that’s the most important thing to keep in mind. People are “hardening their differences” as we figure.

Take a look at this snip from a Google Trends study we ran on the words “Hate” (blue trace) and “Anger” (red).  On the far left is the 2016 election, the higher level just right of that is the J6 follow and fallout:

As you can see, we could see a modest increase in “anger” and a lot of upside remains in “hate” in order to achieve levels comparable to 2016. Oh, and that “hate spike” in 2018 seems to have been semi-orchestrated, too.

We are 112-days to Election Day.  Yet to be decided by the democrats is “Who will they run?”  Biden/Harris is the presumptive ticket and as long as Joe can keep from having another bad debate night, the emotional gradients of this fall will remain steep.

One other way to think about the election is using WFA – word frequency analysis or SFA – search frequency analysis.  As you can see in this comparison (Trump red, Biden blue) the look-up battle isn’t even close:

(The dashed line means tabulation of search is ongoing).  What this demonstrates to us is that a narcissistic personality does pay off in higher name familiarity.

One reason is media coverage – even after the assassination attempt – has been, in our view – sketchy.  Just this morning, a New York Times article (Secret Service Faces Questions of Trump’s Protection at Shooting Site ) manages to report both that “…the building, about 450 feet from the stage, was left out of the perimeter...” while in the very same article reporting  “...The gunman in Butler County was only roughly 200 yards from Secret Service snipers…”  Anyone take math?

The difference (spin?) is starkly apparent. To us, a 33.3% misstatement of range in one article almost has a “certain odor to it” from this old reporter’s view.  200-yards (600 ft) is harder than 425-450 feet.

We have in the past used the term LIHOP – MIHOP.  (“Let it happen on purpose, Made it happen on purpose.”) There are too many holes in official explanations to believe anything – for now – in the “lone gunman, no conspiracy” theory being sold as the mainstream narrative.  We will continue watching not only the data contained in stories, but also see who (or what group) tries to modify the narrative from here and towards what end.

Two headlines in the NY Post summarize this “polarity” driving anger.  Bandaged Trump defiantly appears at RNC 2024 just days after dodging assassin’s bullet (nypost.com) on the one hand while Biden snaps repeatedly at Lester Holt in combative NBC interview days after Trump assassination attempt: ‘What’s with you guys?’ (nypost.com).

Anger, short fuse.  Something is akimbo.  While the American press languishes, the foreign take is much more critical in their assessments: They wanted Donald Trump dead at all costs: ‘Inside work’ the assassination attempt – How they gave the executioner ‘space and time’ for five shots.

Oh, and did you see where Elon Musk to donate $45M a month to super PAC supporting Trump after endorsement of former president?

Lawfare Blowing Up?

I’m not an attorney, but it was refreshing to see the “secret docs” case against Donald Trump thrown out.  The reason was that the “special prosecutor” was not appointed as required by law.  Thus, anything Jack Smith did was tainted.

But the lawfaring left will hear nothing of it.  A kangaroo court brought charges and they are demanding a conviction – regardless of law. Our view on this is pretty simple: If the appointment of Jack Smith wasn’t wholly by the book (and Justice Thomas seems to say it wasn’t) then not only was Cannon correct, but double jeopardy rules should apply because the Orange Haters will otherwise be back for another attempt. And another…

Somewhere, supposedly, peace talks over Gaza have been maybe trying to get started.  But color us skeptical upon reading Israel Bombs Gaza after US Criticizes High Civilian Toll.

Meanwhile, there’s a spy case to keep an eye on as 3 Israelis arrested for working on Iran’s behalf against Israel’s national security.

While in Egypt, the government is coming under increased grassroots pressure to “go military” against Israel.  Hacked billboard in Egypt displays anti-Sisi slogans.

And we know the election is getting close as we watch Biden trying to work both sides of the Middle East tensions in Biden embraces Zionist identity, highlights support for Palestinians – Shafaq News.  Wanna help explain what a pro-Palestinian Zionist is?  I must need a lot more coffee…  An “equal opportunity shakedown” maybe?

Global Outlooks

We have told you several times that we don’t think nuclear war will begin until after the American elections this fall.  Vlad Putin (and China’s Xi) may want to “give peace a chance.”  And the Biden “war party” embeds seem to be working their tails off to get nuke war before the election.

So, we take it as significant when we read about how Russia Withdraws Last Patrol Ship from Occupied Crimea — Ukrainian Navy . Is it possible that Russia will hold back a bit – in order to give space to the elections here?  They may have reason to do so: Vance Likely To Favor Negotiated Peace in Ukraine | The New York Sun (nysun.com).  Meanwhile, the War Party has a marketing problem globally for its role in the subversion of Ukraine’s 2014 government and subsequent engagement: States not allied to the US see the Ukraine war as a threat to Western hegemony, not to international order.

      The “Sun” and “Daily Mail” published a story yesterday pertaining to ad-supported British state broadcaster, Channel 4, and Lisa Simpson lately of Springfield. Channel 4 of course is headquartered at Horseferry Road, London. It’s on the former site of the Methodists’ Westminster (Teacher) Training College across the Thames from Lambeth Palace and was reduced to rubble in March 4, 1944 by a German incendiary bomb.

      It seems this past Sunday’s planned season 7 airing of “The Simpsons” by Channel 4 went mostly according to plan. However S7 E16 was replaced by a season 30 episode in the viewing marathon. “Lisa the Iconclast” was not broadcast. The episode features a sketch with a sharpshooter on a roof overlooking the Springfield town square grandstand. Off to one side stands the “Zestys” restaurant apparently named by the series set designer after a popular pizzaria in the American Revolutionary War-famed town of Chelmsford, Ma. with motto “Let the children guard what the sires have won”. The town’s British namesake in Essex is on the old Roman road now the A12 from London to Colchester, home of the UK’s land Global Response Force. Chelmsford apparently began it’s recorded journey about 60 ad as Caesaromagus or Caesar’s Field.

      One of many reasons I’m opposed to early voting except in exceptional circumstances is that things can change up until election day. Why prematurely commit yourself?

        I’m hearing that one of the nasty surprises of elections and the time polls close is that ballots coming in from those shaky ‘drop boxes’ that led to so much odd/crooked counts are delivered AFTER the polls close. They are unable to count them as they are signed documents thus cannot be opened and put in with the machine counted ballots. This means the ballots might not be counted as valid because they get opened AFTER the polls have closed. They could just be pushed under a desk somewhere… Might not be legal but so much of what we see regarding elections leave one scratching their heads. Goofy stuff such as tubs full of uncounted ballots being found in a rented storage locker after the renter never came back to get them. Must have been an oversight, eh? Lots of this sort of crapola going on but we’ll see how it goes this time. Hope that what I heard was not happening as told… but it has happened before.
        If you are on an early voting list, don’t wait for election day to send your ballot in or try delivering it in person. It will be tossed into a tub- unopened to be taken away for opening somewhere else (if like last time, there will NOT be an unbroken chain of custody, thus opening doors for corruption by officials.) Mail it in ASAP so at least the custody of the ballot is in the hands of Postal Authorities. (no guarantees here either but there is some credibility). Good Luck

    • since all the congressmen and women of the democratic party was hinting at promoting hatred at an opposing republican candidate. maybe the laws if previous administration’s will finally be upheld.. the whole January 6 was about questioning suspicious behaviors in the voting.. had a Maga congressional member made the same comments they were making the democratic congressional members would be screaming from the rooftops..
      dual set of laws I suppose..

This may sound far fetched but I think the people/sheeple have been being primed for a long time for a violent civil war the moods of people have changed for the worse for those who took the vaccines i see it ALL the time from their actions on the road to how they act in stores. I think it is ALL part of the plan for our demise in some manner we don’t understand totally as of yet. These hidden rulers of the world are not stupid they are very smart and very devious.

    • Agreed! I’ve seen this over time in a (good?) friend who got the stupid vaxx just to go dancing! I warned her against it but she was adamant. She had a weird psychedelic reaction that night (though she’s used to the real thing), and she’s become harsher, coarser, and more entrained to the system ever since. I’d love to understand this better. I feel really bad for her, but she’s on her own path and it’s certainly not parallel to mine.

After reading the many comments on social media, insanely condoning the assassination attempt, I couldn’t help but recall that once upon a time, insane asylums were huge buildings across the country. I don’t know what drove so many people mad back then but, we see in the media all the brainwashing, dividing those who are weak and gullible against those who love America. I wouldn’t be surprised if those Assylums came back into the relatively near future. Insanity is dangerous.

    Psychics are saying November and January are going to be, ugly. To say the least. – all agree, it’s going to get worse before it gets better but … it will get better for America and the world.

    Pray, believe and, keep the faith. God has a hand in this.

    • The adults in the room know what happens if you complain to officialdom about harassment and gas-lighting from unknown sources. Best to document non-lethal incidents in a setting like Urban Survival, and otherwise just take it until someone gets stupid and gives you an opportunity to haul their @ss into a district court, and get officious payback. Some years ago I failed to record a conversation that would have put me in a position to take action against one individual. Or did I record that conversation, and several others? Hmmm….
      But, when the local voter registrar tried to claim I wasn’t
      a resident (and would not have been eligible for the senior discount on property tax), I knew exactly what to say in the Texas version of an FOI request. It may have been a little paranoid, but it gave me a golden opportunity to voice concerns about officious vigilantism, without putting me in the crosshairs.. Had my registration card in the mail the following Friday, but never got a response otherwise. i still have that paperwork.
      Also remember that general practitioners can dispense a lot of head meds without putting you at risk of being kidnapped, and Ure bank accounts drained by hospital admins. Just don’t overdo it and start shooting.
      So, to answer your question about the decline of the local psych warehouses, people aren’t any saner or happier, but they have wised up.

  5. I watched the assignation attempt live. Heard the first and second set of shots. Witnesses have said the second set sounded different from the first. Were the second 5 shots from the counter sniper team? Haven’t heard how many shots counter sniper team fired. If the second shots were not from the counter team, there must have been a second Shotter.

    I have followed this site for years. Not a member, 82 years old, no investments and on a fixed income. Think I will join soon to see what I am missing.

    • The SS teams have cans (suppressors) on their rifles. They are still plenty loud but not like a regular rifle blast.
      The cans are not just so they can talk over the blast and hear commands
      The can strips the muzzle blast of many thousand PSI gas following the bullet out of the barrel. This blast, if not controlled by a carefully machined muzzle crown, just square with the bore and tapered just so, can cause the bullet to “fishtail” like a muscle car doing a burnout.
      So most ‘official” operators have the can fitted to their rifles.
      You or I can get one too, but it will cost several hundred dollars for the can, and more for the machining and fitting and installation, and a $200 federal tax stamp. And registration of the can, just like they do a machine gun. Too much visibility for me, but I see more of them in the field every year, and they do have their advantages.

  6. I picked up 5 iPads for the Nurse Practitioner daughter’s kids. Just under 2 grand. I left Son #1’s 3 babies under 6 years and youngest Son #2, no wife or babies yet, and the 2 oldest grandkids are out of college so gift cards to them to Diana. Sheesh, not even Christmas yet.   8. you remember i started drawing again George. i stopped at the last drawing i did oh about a month ago. havent drawn since. i didnt even finish it.

    i never know what im going to draw. i just take a couple breaths and start drawing. i wont post it. it made me step back enough to not finish it or draw anymore.

    it was the image of cities buring in the background, me standing there wearing a gree ball cap, holding a pocket watch and directing lots and lots and lota of people to board sailing ships which were heading out accross the ocean.

    the time on the watch was 5:25. not sure if it was am or pm. like old sailing ships. some with stacks. alot of them sail boat or sail ships. i think it is some kind of exodus.

    i didnt know what i was going to draw. it just came through me. normally i draw happy stuff. i havent drawn since.

    thought long and hard before i thought about mentioning that. its in my note book. i thought about drawing more. but after i stood back and saw what i drew. i havent wanted to since.

    I try looking out the window to gather information. In the past I mentioned the legacy American (white dude) pushing a baby carriage with the newcomer, Indian woman past my house. (Indian from India/Native Americans from America).

    Trump’s VP pick married an Indian woman 10 years ago and has children with her.

    Legacy Americans choosing mates from different cultures or newcomers to breed with is the trend and has been. Trump and the VP as role models will accelerate the trend of legacy Americans, both men and women choosing outside of the legacy culture. Look down the timeline and you’ll see that’s the new America which will be different from what we might have grown up in.

    What’s JD going to do if Usha demands the kids change to Hindu? Do Hindus want the 10 Commandments in public schools?

    All that to say is legacy Americans have desire to intermingle with the newcomers and they are here to stay. The intermingling telegraphs much change is coming.

I’m no conservative, but I want to be number one in my family and not play second fiddle to a job or career. Many men agree with me on this. Asian women, including South Asian tend to take pride in their beauty and femininity. They dress(and undress) for their husbands, and not to impress other men or women.     A new, huge, big screen TV ? Nope.
    Just spent the last couple of hours spending this weeks fun-money on buying a whole new collection of vegetable seeds, seed storage envelopes and boxes., seed starting/growing trays., heating pads.., a couple more led grow lights.., organic fertilizer., six more grow trays with built in led grow-lights in the cover.., etc.., etc…, etc.
    Along with – just order enough material to build three more raised beds with soil and additives., get them all set-up for next Spring. [ I know where two are going., but haven’t figured out how to get the third new one squeezed in.] And the material to build another twenty foot shelf in the greenhouse.
    Feeling a bit better about my capacity.., now – just hoping that they leave the damn lights on !

    Now – to research on how to cool two rooms in a house with no electricity involved. I’m feeling there must be a relatively semi-easy way to accomplish that. We’ll see…..,

    • Same here, bought a couple of years yeast ahead for wine production, as well as other supplies. While we can. We have a proven well, more drip irrigation supplies. Greenhouse is stalled. I took a fall in the shop last month. Doc says I did not break my arm but bent the bone. At 65 that is a hurting son of a gun. Putting 500 gallons of water on the vineyard a week, where did the rainy season go? Had to put up a hot wire to keep the deer out. Damn near electrocuted myself. We are 99 per cent off grid with solar. This year the solar production is down 10% Year Over Year. Cant figure that out but going to put another 10k watts online this year. Have all the parts just cant use my right arm. Damn.
      I was sitting in a server room on Y2K. Dawned on me then, NO ONE was coming to save me and wife. Retired at 57 and moved to the Ozark National Forest. Learned all kinds of skill sets. Like survival.

      It is really hard to deny a 50°F/10°C year-round ambient temperature. What you do with that temperature is up to you, but you should certainly utilize it. I’m toying with the idea of digging a below-ground greenhouse, yet this year. I need to work out the specifics of drainage but I’ve already selected the site…

      from what I hear everyone has a doubt that this can be turned around that our whole system that everyone perceived as broken is in a much worse fate..

Putin and Xi both scrapped their way to the top to.. both are fighters ready and willing to do what they see as best for their people..pushed into a corner they will fight.. work with them and negotiate .. seeing Putin with the puppy says who he is inside.. how you treat those lesser than you sends a little image of your true soul..

      while the business model of gaining power and more wealth it also dissolves any hope left in the mass of citizens..

      Seriously, the Secret Service was the investigative arm of the Department of the Treasury (and the U.S. Marshals Service was the enforcement arm) until all policing and intelligence branches of the Federal Government were united under the Department of Homeland Security.

      The Secret Service was created toward the end of the Civil War, in 1865, to ferret out counterfeiters. The President (and other officials) had no security detail. After McKinley’s assassination, Congress decided Presidents should have government-employed guards, and thereafter assigned two Secret Service agents to be the “President’s personal bodyguard.”

      We have never had a “silver standard.” Until 16 months after Kennedy’s assassination, our circulating coinage (still issued by the Treasury, mind you, not the Federal Reserve) was .900 Fine, or 90% silver.

      The Federal Reserve Act of 1912 removed the creation of legal tender currency from the Treasury Department, and gave it to a cabal formed by the U.S.’s largest banks. What JFK did was authorize the United States Treasury to issue currency again.

      This currency is “The United States Note.” It bears a red seal, it is backed by “the Full Faith and Credit of the United States Government.” U.S. Notes were issued in $2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 (and I believe $500 and $1000) denominations. IIRC the Treasury issued $450mln worth of USNs — Series 1963 and Series 1963A only — and after JFK’s death, never issued any more.     • You might consider a hub motor for the front wheel, run from your tool batteries and a controller. Exercise is great, but sometimes a bit of electrical assist is helpful under unexpected conditions. Build the hub motor into an extra wheel and you can always add or remove the setup quickly.

    At that point I remembered a conversation waaaay back when with a teammate on the U of A Rugby team who was from Grose Point Farms Michigan and whose dad was an Editor of the big Detroit paper (the name of which escapes me). He was majoring in Broadcast and Film in UA’s pretty highly regarded School of Communications.
    I asked him how he had come to choose that major. Was it because his dad being a journalist, he wanted to follow in his footsteps, but in a more modern way?
    He told me that after he decided to go to Alabama, he had read the Entire University Student Catalogue, which was a considerable volume. He had studied it closely. He chose that major because “it was the ONLY major in the entire catalogue, without ANY math requirement. None, Zero, Nada. And he decided he hated math, and didn’t want to study it at all, and so chose that major.”
    I told him if he was to have any money in his life he would eventually have to learn some math. At our Rugby Team reunion earlier this he has retired from his own Training Film production company, where he does industrial training and other independent films for various companies and industries. He has indeed had to pick up math, but not like you of I, but enough to do the books.
    But I always remembered that from 45 years ago, and it is what informs me now when I listen to any reporting of any statistical information on the tube. (And our Politicians, too!)

    anways, she said that fella there escaped the mental lock down facility and has court order to be locked down. he is unsafe to be in the public. so she called seattle PD. yousifee grabbed another guard to coral him away from everyone. i grabbed the phone from her and said who i was and my position. she said he is very dangerous. he started putting up a fight trying to get away and i ran over there, picked him up and slammed him to the ground and held him down with yousiffee who yelled fuck around and find out. my supervisor said, i told ya dumbass when you were here before. steenberg doesnt play with stupid shit. hahaha. the cops showed up and took him back to the state lock down assylem.

    oh…. the skying being pulled back like a curtain. i drew that about 2 months ago. its as if an invisible hand pulls the sky back and 13 spheres fall out of the sky. each with a different symbol on it. i dont know what it means. but im also in that image i drew. i dont know if its a refrence to me or the world. or im in it and the world will see it. its like entire sky is a blanket over a window. and an invisible hand pulls the blanket back and 13 spheres decend upon the earth. i think the spheres are good things. i dont know if they space ships, beings, angels, ideas, new industries or what they represent.

    i find that if ya look for the good in every situation? you live alot longer than the pesimist do. you experiance way more miracles than the fellas who preach doom day in and day out. all they experiance a multitude of distraction and fear.

    i experiance miracles daily. i think everyone should. if they did? the world would be a better place..

From the angles the “news” nerds were showing on the tube, if the distance from the assassin’s gun muzzle to Trump was 130 yards, the two nearest Secret Service snipers would’ve been about 115 yds from the assassin, and positioned on a steeper roof than the assassin. Also, the assassin’s bullet drop would’ve been less than an eighth of an inch per foot. The dude used a STEP LADDER to access the roof.
