I suppose we should begin with the Falling Markets part. Because we have been tracking America’s lurch toward a Second ’29 for a couple of decades. A current (through early Futures today) looks (how to say this?) less than stellar…
Going into tonight’s State of the Onion, let’s see how the Replay of 1929 is evolving:
What we would expect to see (ahead of tonight) might be some “backing and filling” particularly as the market sorts out how how to play after Trump shut off funding for the Ukraine War last night. Markets may not be too pleased with that. After all, War is “good for business.”
The other chart I have been touting for weeks is my work on how the Ebbinghaus-Ure Correlation uses multiple moving averages to gain additional insights into the timbre of trading. And, as should be clear, we have a “hole in the middle” as moving averages continue to widen divergences.
the “Trading Box” on the right hints that a break below 18,000 is possible; based on the idea that Wave 3’s are often (but not always) 50 percent and often 0.618 (Fibonacci) or even 1.7 to 1.8 times the size of the initial Wave 1.
Oh, not to feed into your native paranoia here, but try to remember we are only in a possible Wave 3 of a LARGER 1 down. Remember, the Wave 1 down could, itself, see a stunning summer rally this year (we’ll get to that in a second) but then a horrific (blood in the streets) collapse in the Fall. Which then tees up the War with China that Trump’s ending Ukraine Funding is trying to nudge off the table.
Odd, Huh?
Ostensibly, Matt Drudge is still involved with the Druige Report, but the headline they had up in reaction to Trump cutting off Ukraine at the wallet “Trumski Stops Ukraine Aid” smacks of a neocon press release – the kind of crap usually spewed by War Party embeds and people who don’t know that China’s coming gunning for us…
I thought he was a deeper reporter than that, but is it he anymore? The AI on this is useful:
“There’s no definitive public evidence confirming whether Matt Drudge still runs the Drudge Report as of March 4, 2025. Matt Drudge founded the site in 1995 and was its primary editor for years, shaping it into a major conservative news aggregator. However, speculation about his current involvement has swirled since around 2019, fueled by shifts in the site’s editorial tone, reduced update frequency, and Drudge’s own reclusiveness—he hasn’t given an interview in years.
Some, including former associates and observers, suggest he may have sold the site or stepped back, pointing to its pivot from staunchly pro-Trump coverage in 2016 to a more critical stance by 2020, alongside a perceived decline in its once-distinct curatorial edge.”
Well, like I said, over half a century of newsing hints that Drudge has gone “hands off” and someone who wants us to remain distracted with Europe, deeply in debt, and unable to up-armor for China may be calling the shots. Just wondering, mind you.
Meanwhile, the war promoters have retuned to sing more in the key of Money with a New China Riff: How Ukraine minerals could help end US economic reliance on China.
Rising Futures
While War and Calamity are rampant (as usual) there is a very damn encouraging story making the sounds on Youtube involving Elon Musk which could explain a lot.
This full 2-hours (++) is something you can listen to in background (it’s narration) Elon Musk Discovers a Retired NASA Engineer Driving Uber—What Happens Next is Mind Blowing.
The shortened version is a real NASA rocket scientist who was cut by the (idjits) at NASA it’s claimed has invented a way to “twist space-time” and reduce the fuel burn for SpaceX Mars flights by 40-percent. And there’s an even bigger breakthrough in time-manipulation in background which could open the Stars to humans.
Like I said, good story and one that will sure give you a “future buzz” if we don’t blow-up Earth trying to get there.
But…. (there’s always a but..) Now let me expand on something I have hinted about publicly and which has kept me up at all hours. Since 1:30 AM today, for example…
The Dangerous Fog?
To refresh, I have hinted several times about “mysterious fogs” in south Florida. We never had them when we were living in Boca…so they ARE unusual. I also hinted that the arrival of strange fogs was also timed (coincidentally?) with a sudden drop in Chemtrail Reports.
Serious drop. Like a genuine expert in central Virginia telling me:
“3 days in a row now, clear skies, not a chem trail in sight. Seen a few short contrails, but nary a chemtrail.
At this point, since 20 January, I have seen fewer chemtrails than at almost any point in the last decade+. Not sure what is going on, but pretty sure that something is NOT going on, to anywhere near the extent it used to.”
But that’s also about when the odd fogs started to show up. “Weird” Fog Hits Florida – And Its Smell Supposedly Defies Description.
So now the “new part.” (I assume you know the US Navy used fog as a cover for spraying the civilian population of San Francisco (and inland) in 1950 as Operation Sea Spray. F*ckery with the voters is a long-running indicator of government arrogance, if you needed help figuring that out…)
Take a moment to review: “Scientists Discover Grave Health Concerns from TOXIC FOG Affecting Millions: Letter of Urgency – WorldHealth.net. The key part:
Dare I tell you I know the investigating docs? Maybe wound ’em a bifilar scalar coil? Maybe one of them met with RFK jr? But D.C. is in such an uproar that this may be lost in the “noise” for a while? No?
What’s not clear from lab samples (so far) is whether this is a complex biological or a mixed nanobot “thing” so the investigations continue. What investigators fear is that “fogs” could become a kind of “son of chemtrails” and (dispersed under cover of weather) could result in…well…whatever it is these globs of stuff in blood samples are. I’m told they are on the order of a hundred times larger than normal red blood cells.
In fact, the word you want to put on your awareness is:
“rouleaux” (pronounced roo-LOH).
It’s used to describe the phenomenon where red blood cells stack together in a formation resembling a roll of coins. This can occur due to increased plasma proteins, such as fibrinogen or globulins, and is often seen in inflammatory conditions or blood disorders. And the rouleaux of the samples is very concerning to the local docs who have seen it on lab slides. So far no one is sure (yet!) what’s going on.
But just in case, if you have ideas about nanobot frequency sensitivities (for zapping and deactivation) please feel free to post a comment. In the literature 17.3 KHz and 40 KHz look promising. But “nano in the wild: or “Covid the Sequel” testing? Can I get back to you when the data’s more clear?
Doesn’t look like an aerosolized red tide brevetoxin, although there have been instances in Florida where mystery respiratory issues were later linked to airborne brevetoxins. However, some mystery fogs could also be caused by industrial pollution, wildfire smoke, or unusual meteorological conditions. Would that include chemtrails?
Just wish CDC would get on the stick a little more urgently – I’m curious what’s going on…

Lol lol.. That’s considering they keep spending the way they use to..we had to cut back a substantial amount …all due to slo Joe and his wacky wild Willy works…lol lol lol lol…makes one think that instead of someone that’s never had to actually work for a living..actually have to balance a checkbook and pay for the essentials of life..besides the dual standards of laws there’s also a dual standard of living.. those that work and support this country through their taxes…and those huddled up to the trough in the beltway bubble lol lol lol
we went from a half trillion in interest a year to A trillion every couple of months..its surprising that we didn’t claim bankruptcy yet..probably wait to see if the vaults are empty at fort knox…
This is going to be odd …I actually see your point and agree..lol lol
the Tariffs target industries and their employees in other countries.. they like the taxpayers are just trying to make a living doing what they do..
it will affect those greedy one percenters that only want the fast buck so they outsource industry and staffing.. when was the last time you actually called a customer service line and got someone working in the USA…
what I believe should have been done is tax the companies that outsource manufacturing , goods and services and put an extra tax on companies that replace human manufacturing with robotic …
then give a tax break to companies that hire US Citizens and manufacture within the USA.. tax companies extra that leave our country to avoid taxes.. place a flat tax get away from fifty thousand page tax laws.. do a one deduction for the poverty level. then flat tax it at whatever percent. this would clear up the large corporations from hiding income and assets to avoid paying taxes.. no deductions.. you buy five million dollar dwelling then you pay the taxes on five million dollars assets..
I visited with the wife of a billionaire ..my job was handing out pamphlets that said more money in your pocket..got up to the house ( beautiful inside) and the wife was pulling out of the garage..handed that to her she laughed and said ” what in the hell would I want with more money!” I said mother I’m your long lost son spirited away by gypsies.. we both laughed then visited for a couple hours.. they donated their home to the local college to stop paying taxes..then moved outside the usa to save on taxes.. make a buck here pay a tax on the buck here..
the fifty thousand tax laws is just the shell game to give one section of social class a way to avoid ..
now her husband had something like a third grade education..so its possible.. do away with non profits to.Wealthier individuals may benefit more from charitable deductions because they are more likely to itemize their deductions and have higher tax rates, making the deductions more impactful. charitable donations was shown to be a major component in the pay to play scandle.where donations to charitable organizations are allegedly used as a means to gain influence, access, or favors from powerful individuals or institutions. This theory often arises in discussions about political or corporate corruption.
do away with them..
so I do understand your position..
The 2008 financial crisis led to significant government bailouts for various industries, including banks and automakers, under programs like the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Some companies that received bailout funds faced criticism for their actions, including closing industrial plants, outsourcing jobs, or restructuring operations in ways that impacted workers.Auto manufactures , which received substantial bailout funds, closed several plants as part of their restructuring efforts. These closures were often part of broader strategies to cut costs and remain competitive.
the bailouts were intended to stabilize industries and save jobs, the actions of some companies sparked debates about accountability and the ethical use of taxpayer money to cut us citizens jobs and open new manufacturing industries in other countries. A crime against the American laborer..pay them to fire the workers then denied them unemployment compensation.. A double slap in the face and cut their tax liabilities as well..
Agreed, “they” seem to “front run” the weather.

Good Morning George.
I am curious, you seem to be covering one side of the story about the tariffs and trade war Trump seems bent on starting with Canada, Mexico and the rest of the world, however, you don’t seem to cover what you see as the unintended consequences of these policies for the average person in the US over the next 2-3 years? What is the actual trade deficit between Canada and the US? Instead I read snide remarks about “whiny bitches”.
Your reporting here and on the PN side appear to be increasingly biased and one-sided particularly as it relates to the Trump regime. The elephant in the room, seems to be silence on facts such as:
*US reneging on the terms of agreement reached with Ukraine in the Budapest Memorandum i.e., security guarantees for nuclear disarmament.
*Trump falsely claimed that Ukraine had “started” the war with Russia, saying the country could have made a “deal.” Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
*He inflated the amount of U.S. aid for Ukraine and wrongly said the U.S. gave “$200 billion more than Europe.” Aid from Europe is higher than that from the U.S.
*Trump distorted comments Zelenskyy made to claim that the Ukrainian president “admits that half of the money that we sent them is missing.” A Trump administration official has said the U.S. tracks the money.
*Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” and misleadingly said that he “refuses” to have elections. Because of the war, the country is under martial law and can’t have an election, according to Ukrainian law.
You are quick to condemn most of what any Democrat does or doesn’t do (most of which I don’t disagree with); however, the same level of critique is not applied to the current administration. Yeah, “Trump is Trump”. And you get what you tolerate. I am curious about what you think the founders of the United States would have to say about the demonstrated values and behaviours of your current President? File that under ignorant, morally bankrupt, bully and unprincipled liar. And that is not based on a liberal “Trump hate” bias, but rather observable (and televised!) behaviour.
I have followed this site and subscribed to PN for about 10 years having valued your mostly balanced, objective and different take on things. I will not be renewing the PN subscription when it comes due.
Good luck.
Hi Dave,
I’d like to answer your comments, each in turn. There is a tendency for people to endorse a writer when events are driving one way, but then turn on the reporter as the political pendulum swings another way.
So to some of your points:
In short, the U.S. did not renege on the Budapest Memorandum’s terms as written—it fulfilled its limited assurances by not violating Ukraine’s sovereignty itself and providing non-military support after Russia’s breaches. However, the memorandum’s failure to deter Russia has fueled debate about whether the U.S. implicitly owed Ukraine more robust protection, a perception reinforced by Ukraine’s translation of “assurances” as “guarantees.” Legally, no breach occurred; practically, the agreement’s weakness left Ukraine vulnerable, raising questions about the value of such assurances in the first place.
Our State department is full of useless jabberspeakers.
Do remember the US spent >$5 to $6 billion to overthrow the legally elected govt. of Ukraine. To force elections and that is how Zilensky got “elected” in 2019. Despite certain shortcomings, including misuse of state resources and vote-buying, the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election was broadly conducted in line with democratic standards, reflecting the will of the Ukrainian people. But he would almost certainly NOT win now, too many people have died and he won’t put his bloody record to a vote.
Leading up to 2014, Ukraine’s government under Yanukovych initially negotiated an EU Association Agreement. His abrupt rejection of it in November 2013, under Russian pressure, sparked Euromaidan. After his ouster, the interim government fast-tracked EU ties and reversed some pro-Russia policies—like elevating Russian as an official language in certain regions. Russia seized on this, claiming Ukraine’s new leadership oppressed Russian-speakers in the east and Crimea, justifying its “protection” of ethnic Russians as a pretext for annexing Crimea and backing Donbas separatists. Evidence of systemic oppression by Kyiv is thin—language laws were divisive but hardly genocidal, as Russian propaganda later claimed. Still, these shifts gave Russia a narrative to exploit. Ukraine helped too, shutting off water resources, for example.
Fast-forward to 2021-2022, before the full invasion. Ukraine, under President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, wasn’t sitting idle. It ramped up military modernization, sought NATO membership more vocally (though full accession remained distant), and cracked down on pro-Russian figures like Viktor Medvedchuk, a Putin ally, whose media outlets were shuttered in 2021. Ukraine also conducted joint military exercises with NATO near Russian borders and pushed for more Western arms, like Javelin missiles. These moves, while defensive from Kyiv’s perspective—given Russia’s 2014 aggression and troop buildups—were cast by Moscow as provocations. Putin’s December 2021 demands included Ukraine abandoning NATO aspirations and demilitarizing, ultimata Kyiv and the West rejected.
Russia’s rhetoric offers clues to its triggers. Putin has long framed Ukraine’s Western pivot as a betrayal of a supposed Russo-Slavic unity, obsessing over its “anti-Russia” stance in speeches like his July 2021 essay denying Ukrainian sovereignty. The 2022 invasion was justified as “denazification” and stopping NATO’s “encroachment,” pointing to Ukraine’s military buildup and Western ties. Kremlin propaganda amplified incidents—like Ukraine’s 2018 Kerch Strait clash with Russian ships or sporadic Donbas shelling—as evidence of Kyiv’s belligerence, though these were often tit-for-tat escalations in a frozen conflict Russia itself stoked.
Did Ukraine “goad” Russia? Not in the sense of actively seeking invasion. Ukraine’s actions—EU/NATO alignment, military posture, curbing Russian influence—were strategic choices to secure sovereignty after 2014, not bait to lure Russia into war. But that’s a matter of perspective and, to non-partisans, there’s a case to be made that Russia was reacting to the militarization of a country on its border. It would be like China setting up a government in one of the states of the US on the border with Canada. One of those “Um…no…” moments.
You also claim that Trump inflated the amount of U.S. aid for Ukraine and wrongly said the U.S. gave “$200 billion more than Europe.” Aid from Europe is higher than that from the U.S.
Factually, this is incorrect. The Globalist Left Media (a few of which are domiciled in Canada) like to claim Europe has “paid more.” But now we need to have the grown up accounting talk.
While in “total aid” European countries have collectively provided more financial aid to Ukraine than the United States, here is a lot of accountancy at play. According to data from the Kiel Institute, European nations have contributed approximately €132 billion (around $138 billion) in total aid, encompassing military, financial, and humanitarian assistance. In comparison, the United States has supplied about €114 billion (approximately $120 billion) in total aid.
However, when focusing specifically on military assistance, the United States has been the largest contributor. The U.S. has provided approximately €64 billion ($67.3 billion) in military aid, while European countries have collectively contributed around €62 billion ($66 billion) in military support.
Further, the Kiel Institute is the source of many of the figures and they are (in part) funded by the German government and European interests. Got to remember who pays the “accountants.” Also, remember, in the defense of the PN reporting, that the EU bloc dumped in a lot of “guanratees” and promises which serve to puff-up the Eurofinancial claims (likely to be reported in liberal Canadian media). And even figures from the ISW (*institute for the Study of War – US) have to be considered partisan because of links both to the neocons pressing war and their ties to the defence (sic) industry.
Next point is where you cite “Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” and misleadingly said that he “refuses” to have elections. Because of the war, the country is under martial law and can’t have an election, according to Ukrainian law.”
As I have pointed out, the US held elections during our World Wars and even in the midst of the US Civil War. If Ukraine is under “martial law” then characterizing Zenlenskyy as a dictator doesn’t seem a stretch. He has closed down all credible opposition and there is no prospect of elections any time this year. We have to roll with Trump’s claim, until Zilensky allows for elections. We have seen too many times tin-horn dictators claim they can’t hold elections. This is “selective enforcement” of the one law they can find that gives them quarter to keep being sassholes and in our view it’s totally dishonest.
Last, but not least, your comments on trade and tariffs. The PN view on these has been clear: We have characterized it as a replay of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff act. You said (and let me get this right):
“I am curious, you seem to be covering one side of the story about the tariffs and trade war Trump seems bent on starting with Canada, Mexico and the rest of the world, however, you don’t seem to cover what you see as the unintended consequences of these policies for the average person in the US over the next 2-3 years? What is the actual trade deficit between Canada and the US? Instead I read snide remarks about “whiny bitches”
First, Trump did not begin the tariffs war. Trump’s starting point was a runaway national budget that few people fully appreciate. The actual US debt (with interest) is over $158-trillion. Works out to $993,000 per taxpayer.
As to your specific question in 2024, the United States recorded a goods trade deficit of approximately $63.3 billion with Canada, importing $412.7 billion in goods from Canada while exporting $349.4 billion to Canada.
The reason therefore (for Trump’s tariffs) is to reduce the payments we are running up to Canada. We are (having been spent into the poorhouse by democrat open borders and misguided wars) presently subsidizing Canada to the tune $63,3 billion per year. As for future exports to the US, I’m sure that Canadian companies will not export as much, but does America exist to support excess industrialization anywhere? No. Not Canada, Not China, not Mexico. Not when Elaine and I are on the tax hook for $2 million as our share of your industry along with mexico’s China’s and Europes….
The problem with international trade is that everyone tends to be sa “whiny bitch” about their position. Canada is incensed that we won’t support your industry – Mexico has a similar complaint. And China, who we overly depend on is just now raising their tariffs on us. China doesn’t whine – they act.
International trade can (and we think should) be a rationally limited thing. Just as we can no longer be the breadbasket to the world, we can no longer be the subsidizers of Canadian, Mexican, or Chinese industry. We have to bring some of it back, on-shore, and get back to the business of being an honest and independent America again. We can continue to be close friends (Canada and the US) but we can no longer afford the “John Beresford Tipton” role (The Millionaire (TV series) – Wikipedia) and learn to count genders again.
I appreciate Canada (in the main) has been conditioned to no longer count genders (54 up there, last I heard) but I’m heartened that $40 bucks still means something.
And with any luck, an America with a new career from onshoring will be able to fill your pending void.
Well, exxept probably not – because of the Depression part. But that’s when I get to retire.
GU : “Russia was reacting to the militarization of a country on its border”
The Ukrainian border is unlike the others, such as in the Baltics. Though a travesty Crimea was lost, the peninsula was long divided (even prior to 2014) and with the Sevastopol Naval base being main access to the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, the Russians not only _had_ to hold that ground, they needed a land bridge. Those early land grabs were fortunately stopped before closing out Odessa. The Ukraine access to seaports for agricultural export remain crucial.
On who paid what, there are many tallies from legit sources. A difficulty arises in posturing about how we provided military goods from stocks which would then cause our Defense Industry to rebuild and replace. This does _not_ mean they should be excluded from any fair tally. We can’t pay for them twice and, as storehouse for the West, must maintain readiness.
Sadly our zone will be impacted (eventually) if Canadian tariffs linger. Our large Midwestern refinery is geared to process Canadian “heavy” oil. I’m sure efforts are underway to replace that feed -or- retool to process “sweet” crude but either will take time.
We would do well to develop a fair Continental American economy / trading block. I believe that’s what comes next. Lots of puzzle pieces are being moved on the board. It’s the nature of the game neither side knows how this will work out or when.
Write when I get warm,

Canadians would say that this statement is incorrect:
“We are (having been spent into the poorhouse by democrat open borders and misguided wars) presently subsidizing Canada to the tune $63,3 billion per year.”
Here’s why:
Canada does not run a surplus in manufactured goods with the United States. In fact it runs a manufactured goods deficit with the United States. Canada’s surplus is in oil gas and raw materials like billet aluminum.
What has Canadians so upset is that Canadian oil is sold at a the discount to the USA. Please use Chat GPT or Grok and look up the percentage discount of (WCS) Western Canada Select to (WTI) West Texas Intermediate. When I checked Grok 3 it asserted that it was an average discount of around 20%.
Canada is subsidizing the American economy by discounting Canadian oil by 20%. If Canada had pipeline capacity it would shift exports to Europe and Asia and solve the trade deficit by literally turning off the taps.
Grok 3 says Canada sold approximately 1.5 billion barrels of oil to the United States in 2023. According to Grok 3 the discount was approximately $19.06 a barrel in 2023. So $19.06 x 1,500,000,000 equals a $28.5 billion dollar subsidy to the United States.
It is Justin Trudeau’s anti pipeline policy that left Canada in this mess.
George I would like to take exception to the use of the word “subsidize” by both you and Trump. I believe it is misleading. Yes , purchasing foreign goods does support industries in those countries but that is VERY different than the implied idea of a subsidy as a gift. Technically I suppose that a business transaction COULD be defined as a subsidy but that is misleading. All the business that you do with China through Amazon is hardly meant as a subsidy but it’s a hot word meant to effect an emotion. You know that. MANY Americans depend on foreign goods to simply survive in our economy and I am extremely concerned for those folks.
That’s a more than fair point, Kevin. Let’s begin with the definition of what a “subsidy” is – we have two:
1. a sum of money granted by the government or a public body to assist an industry or business so that the price of a commodity or service may remain low or competitive. “a farm subsidy”
2. historical – a parliamentary grant to the sovereign for state needs.
Technically it amounts to a tariff – because it is not a business-to-business; it’s a government to government (e.g. public body) and governments (all, everywhere) tend to be greedy and want a “piece of the action.” I take your point and we can agree that Canada has a Trade Surplus with the US while we run a $63.3 billion deficit. Would this work for you (and everyone) since it’s (yes, a subsidy) but if the accounting term gives more comnfort. (I would note that Republicans did learn “word use” from democrats, lol, and this is what happens… somehow “undocumented citizens” didn’t engender protests from somehow “subsidies” does? But, sure, OK…
Some additional background on point over (former subsidies, now trade imbalances):
Softwood Lumber Dispute:
Background: A longstanding issue where the U.S. claimed that Canadian lumber producers were unfairly subsidized, leading to the imposition of U.S. tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber.?
Canadian Response: Canada disputed these claims and, at times, imposed its own tariffs or restrictions in response.?
Steel and Aluminum Tariffs (2018):
U.S. Action: In 2018, the U.S. imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum imports, citing national security concerns.?
Canadian Retaliation: Canada responded by imposing tariffs on U.S. goods, including steel, aluminum, and various consumer products.?
Agricultural Products:
Supply Management: Canada maintained supply management systems for dairy, poultry, and eggs, which effectively controlled imports through tariffs and quotas to support domestic producers.?
Overall, while the trade agreements facilitated largely tariff-free trade, these specific sectors experienced tariff disputes prior to the broader trade conflicts that emerged in 2025.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/03/politics/senate-transgender-sports-bill-vote/index.html
“The bill seeks to amend federal law to require that “sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth,” for the purpose of determining compliance with Title IX in athletics, according to the legislative text.
Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities that receive funding from the federal government, and applies to schools and other educational institutions.”
and google says,,
“The need for 60 votes is due to the Senate’s filibuster rules, which require a supermajority to end debate and bring a bill to a vote. This rule is designed to ensure broad support for legislation, as it prevents a simple majority from passing bills that might be controversial or divisive.”
Needed 60 votes to “pass”.
“Although a majority of senators backed the legislation on a 51-45 vote, the proposal failed to reach the necessary three-fifths supermajority.”

Since most members of congress actually have more important things to accomplish other than sitting in congress while its in session.. they should change that to majority vote of those present..
The Democrats have neither ideas nor solutions. Mr. Trump has been racking up political “wins” by pushing “60/40,” “70/30,” and “80/20” (supported by/opposed to) legislation.
The Dems are generally disingenuous and dishonest. They support the power of their Party above all else. Lacking viable solutions to issues, they believe all they can do tactically, is adopt an “if Trump is for it, we’re against it” stance, even if this means voting for really stupid stuff, or not voting for common sense or really popular things.
Technically, it takes a simple majority in the Senate to pass a bill. The “60 vote thing” exists because, by our Senate rules, a piece of legislation can not be voted on for passage (or not) until after a successful “cloture vote.” A successful cloture vote is a simple majority, but until 60 votes to the affirmative have been reached, the Senators on the short side of the vote can filibuster — basically talk endlessly to avoid yielding the “floor” for a roll-call vote to be conducted.
I have never understood why the Senate Majority Leader (the person who gets to determine what legislation the Senators vote on) doesn’t just refuse to bring another bill forward for consideration, until the hung bill is voted upon: Filibuster? Okay. No cloture? Fine. We simply won’t vote on anything else, until the filibuster ends and there’s a successful cloture vote. No budget bill, no spending bill, no emergency recovery bill (after a fire, earthquake, hurricane, etc.), no anything, until the hung bill is brought to a vote.
Of course I’m also one of those people who believes that, generally speaking, the less our Federal government does, the better off the People will be.
You left out one: Dems have been running ont he same issues since I was a cub reporter (1969). civil rights, abortion, queer politics…nothing changes except the depth of the financhial hole they drill.
Amen.. we call them dead horse or dead dog issues.. the issues are popular so it gets everyone’s attention..they drag that dead horse around the campaign platform..then table it till the next campaign season..
remember all the mountain of crap about the laptop.. tons of evidence of business activities that seemed to take on or come F@#king close to open Treasonous business activities.. the list was huge ..then the insider trading making some of the members multiple millions in tax earnings..these were popular and the trading issue has been hauled around the campaign platform almost as long as the abortion women’s rights issue..A dead horse..my wife tells me with a roll of her eyes..do you really have to drag that dead animal around again…
well June answered if congress or either side would actually do anything..on the laptop corruption issue..there was what ten members of congress there..they tabled it and left for their summer off.. not on on either side stuck around..
I have a sincere question here. I would hope to avoid snide comments to it. Bruce Jenner ( now Caitlin Jenner ) always seemed surprisingly conservative to me even after his “transition” and he (she) was not afraid to express it. Has he given an opinion on the Trans competition issue ? Given his success in the Olympic field and his general conservative attitude that would be interesting.
Here is your answer.

Folks,
Warren Buffet is quoted over the weekend by the CBC. “Tariffs…they’re an act of war to some degree…”, said the Sage.
Here is the “Wikipedia” link alleging that the billionaire US Commerce Secretary has allegedly owned since 1998 the New York townhouse allegedly occupied by the former owner of Little St. James Island.

The “Wikipedia” allegation stems from a 2019 paywalled story in “Crain’s New York Business”. Here is a link to a page on the Crain family business website:

re: 4/3 Address to Congress prelude
feat: London goes “Scorched Earth”
Folks,
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Democrat Hawaiian Pizza special, it looks like London has jumped in to spark a Republican wiener roast appetizer in time for President Trump’s speech tonight before Congress. The “Daily Mail” picked up incendiary allegations made in early February by a Republican Congresswoman from South Carolina. Apparently the Patriarchy has been deemed slow to respond. Here is the “Daily Mail” link:
https://t.co/JDPpyfHTCo
Meanwhile in Washington, it promises be a bonfire of a speech tonight. Should be good to tune in afterwards for the fast-forward version of the fireworks, but soon enough to enjoy marshmallows toasting over the embers.
Dessert wouldn’t be complete without some icing on the cake. According to this “Wired” link, a $1to5 million spend is the latest ‘hot ticket’ item for an opportunity to speak to The Boss.

Trump giving Sex Traffickers the red carpet treatment again, welcomes them to the U.S.:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A travel ban was lifted on influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are both charged with human trafficking in Romania, and they are headed to the United States, officials said Thursday.
The brothers are avid supporters of President Donald Trump and have millions of online followers. It wasn’t clear under what conditions the Tates were allowed to leave Romania, or where in the United States they were headed.
Ms. Mace does seem to have a wild imagination,

c,
Recollection is a bit foggy. Didn’t Representative Mace sit on the “Federal Secrets Committee” last November?
It looks like Rep. Mace’s 50+ minute speech delivered February 10th in the SC House has been scrubbed from the C-Span index search since this morning. Presently the following direct C-Span link to her speech still functions:

Snippets of her presentation and allegations against her alleged wrongdoers also appear on her “X” account as in the following example:

Folks,
President Trump’s speech is appearing on my screen in America’s newly announced official English language via subtitles. Thank goodness because “CGTN” is streaming the opening of China’s legislature “#2025 China Agenda”. Premier Li announces China’s 2025 goals: 5% GDP growth, 5.5% unemployment, and 2% inflation. I apologize that I must have missed hearing similar specific-measure percentage goals from from President Trump’s speech.
Despite President Trump’s denunciation of “unelected bureacrats”, it is only proper to note that the following CGTN streaming link is found on the “X” platform. Thank you, Mr. Musk:

hmm yes and no.. my wife and I talked about varies last night.. I have said not so much tariff all goods..its not another countries fault that US companies got greedy and abandoned their local economy to benefit the executive and put old employees on the unemployment line..
they should tax the industries that import and tax those that outsource employment..when was the last time you called a help line and talked to someone in the usa.
tax companies that use robotics to eliminate manpower..then give tax breaks to American industries that hire us citizens and manufacture in the usa.
its not the manufacturers fault that produces products in their countries with their citizens.. the tariff is aimed at the industries and people there from my point of view not the guy rubbing his sweaty hands at the new amount that he s going to benefit from.
the same thing with Companies that changed their address to save taxes..

then that’s just my opinion..its usually the taxpayer that pays not the one on top..

Looking out of the box,
“then that’s just my opinion..its usually the taxpayer that pays not the one on top..”
Maybe the tariff ‘shots’ being bandied about the world will turn out to be the best thing since covid for the uber-rich to move further up the escalator of paper riches. I think the politicians everywhere are completely corrupted. Bamboozled observers watch war machine taps to Ukraine be dialed back, yet there’s another $4 (?) billion in the warmonger pipeline for Israel?
I’ve taken to watching the ‘Discovery’ series “Homestead Rescue”. Stuff gets done without spending a fortune. Suit attire is not recommended. Here’s the ‘Discovery’ link:

Oh I totally get that..
cut the tax code down to A simple flat tax one percentage rate for everyone . why do we need fifty thousand pages of tax laws..and i agree on politicians how does a moderately efficient businessman go into congress and a year or two later find themselves multi millionaires…congress should write the laws they vote on read the laws page by page then discuss them..put a time limit on it after discussion they eliminate or add till they come up with something they feel is a good compromise then vote their conscience.. had or nae..or just take the top cover page that says what they intend to do..then toss the rest away in the trash..the cover page is written in grade school language.. go by the majority vote of who’s present..what..they go to work actually have to do something lol..who ever considered something as preposterous as that lol..
The Raneys are my heroes…
I spent three weeks visiting my daughter in Laguna Beach over the holidays. From the minute I arrived until I left, my balance was so off that I could hardly walk. I felt like I had aged 20 years and would need a walker shortly. During most of this time, LB had an extremely heavy fog cover. Fog is common there, but not that heavy and not all day, every day. When I returned to AZ, the problem disappeared.
At that time, I read many reports from all over the country of a heavy fog that was making people sick. It wasn’t just FL and CA. Massive chemtrailing is also being reported in many places, just as it’s been here in Cottonwood, AZ. It doesn’t happen every day, but there’s definitely been an uptick in them, not a reduction.
It’s curious that among RFK’s many health concerns, no mention of chemtrails has been made. Something’s very fishy!

?Where did “SHE” come from ? some say that Venus was the “Eye of Sound” that wiped out most of living scheisse of Earth..the biblical flood and what not.
Ancients say it was remnants of planet Mulge(priestess& amphibian planet) that was blown to pieces by the ohh so insanely evil setes/enlil in his constant battle against the Priestess class/Females and the Father of humanity Enki/Ea..aka Asar in Egypt/Osiris in Greece. Horus/Heru continued the battle taking it to setes and the annuna/annunaki.
it is there ilk that are hidden controllers of this prison planet..for a short while longer… This eye of sound origins being a Female planet (priestesses) after it destroyed so much, The Matriarchy running societies on Earth were disbanded and we got a Patriarchy – which has a terrible record..TERRIBLE.

Folks,
It’s the first Tuesday of the month – 10% off at the local grocery store. I’ve gone shopping. I’ll stop by the popcorn aisle before its pillaged into emptiness.
Now I am curious..if I grind popcorn kernels and put the flour through the extruder..will the corn puffs taste like popcorn?
Last night the bay was a mirror reflecting the aligned planets. Only a few lights ashore, and just six other anchor lights on mastheads in the mooring field. Still our little ship can be felt reacting to the slightest changes, a small bump from a larger than normal wave breaking on the reef several miles away, or a good puff of wind causing little slaps on the bow. NEVER a chemtrail. Lots of moving objects far aloft, most likely Starlink as they move in a chain. It’s supposed to rain today. That will top the tanks. Wife is nearly recovered from the dengue… eight days hospital, now three weeks in a home with aircon. Only a week ago did she get more normally active and mobile. Long slow recovery but blessed to be far from all of what is spoken about life on the dirt.
I pay attention to the tiny crowded space (land livers) for situational awareness. There is some safety in being ahead of the collapse curve. In our situation we would be loading stores, topping water storage, and then set off as the suction begins. Land is no different down here. The exception is they are not that far from their self sufficient past. Food is plentiful, water is clean, and there is no crowding. The neighborhood still cares for itself.
But we would leave and seek out the uninhabited places if it becomes a total SHTF scenario. Social constructs and deep seated resentment of previous ‘takings’ by others can surface and become ugly. They are them and we will always still be us as easily defined by physical characteristics, easy to separate. Economic collapse would be the worst. War seems to be somewhere far away. The Chinese are inserting all over the Pacific. Kiribati with Kanton Island WW2 airstrip, huge lagoon, and they want into the 2mm sq mi of fishing. And a true world war has few boundaries. In the last great one a sailor named Vito Dumas left Italy to be away from the war. He was on a 32′ boat and was confronted in the South Atlantic by a German submarine. With our timeline of submarine navies, satellite surveillance, and national paranoia, one would hope that our insignificance might be the best protection.
Woke up floating still. Gratitude to the Dude.
The meat of urbansurvival is in the comments. George is just the spark to light the fire to cook it.

With Ex NASA Scientist Haruki’s brainpower & Musk’s
financial power the theory of twisting space time to reduce fuel consumption on Space X rockets is similar to Bob Lazar’s (Area 51)space warp theory from I think the early 1990’s. By warping space you shrink the distance for example between Earth & Mars (Musk is already planning to go there) which is now about 140 million miles away. By warping space you reduce the distance to say 10,000 miles. Basically a day trip. The problem was Lazar needed massive amounts of electric power to accomplish this. More than was realistically available at the time. Maybe Haruki solved this problem.
I would not be surprised if Bob Lazar & Elon Musk are already friends. Bob was a genius but quirky.
Last Friday’s earthquake tires ended with a 4.5 off Orcas Island in the San Juan’s. Interesting observation during that time was that everyone was very cranky and cantankerous ( using old timey phrases to not use swear words here).

George,
Today was the second fractal day 8 of a potential 19 February 2025 3/8 of 8/8 day decay fractal series similar to the 30 Sept 1987 3/7/6 day decay fractal series. An initial lower low at the opening tomorrow and ending above today’s close would be appropriate for this fractal model.
Today, Tesla ended below its 6 Nov 2024 election day valuation with a 875 billion dollar market cap (dropping from to #11 from its peak #9 global market cap position) . With Canadian tariffs targeting T’s, boycotts in Europe and America, a global recession, and competition from China, Tesla will likely see a further 800 billion loss in valuation. It’s PE ratio is still above 130.
Report from a person on the ground – husband died recently, god kids asked if they could buy his truck because they were embarrassed to own/drive their Tesla, then last week told me the value of their Tesla was so low they couldn’t afford to trade it in for another car, now they try to hide it from view…..most amusing is they live in an extremely red Trump-a-zoid USA state. Just a report from a person in the street. Also, niece asked my advice on how to survive upcoming debacle. I said I picked my friends according to who I wanted around in a revolution but the main person just died so I don’t care anymore (I’m George/Elaine’s age) – just avoid debt and know how to source food and water and good community, she knows, her dad was a veteran who lived in a tent in the woods for years and was a survivalist and good hearted person. I feel so sorry for the generation behind me. I did my best to leave a better place behind but it’s starting to look like another World War genocide. Thank god I’m old, all my fighting strength is about used up.

It is easy to criticize and blame everyone that doesn’t “see” or do what we think should be done or how it should be done. I think the population of our Planet needs take responsibility for their contribution to what we’ve become. Did you personally contribute to making your world better today; did you make someone happier, did you help someone laugh, did you connect with someone in a positive way?
No one is going to be perfect at everything or all the time, and we’re not going to agree with anyone all the time. Find where you connect and value and bless them for how they made your day better.
I appreciate that George gets his ass out of bed every morning to put a post together to share with us. If you don’t value his time and this space for everyone to share, do your own blog. This is George’s home (page); if someone came to your home and were disrespectful would you invite them in for dinner; I sure as hell wouldn’t. I value this community and the respectful discussions that are shared. Thanks Don
The Canadian tariff on U.S. Pasteurized Milk has been 433% and their tariff on butter has been 298% for many years.
Is Canada going to jack these tariffs when they blanket-tariff U.S. goods?
