Markets: War on the Money Front
Stock futures were down a bit early and we attribute that to news from the war. “What war?” Oh! the one over world domination as Reserve Currency issuer, of course!
Let’s do the Rube Goldberg on this:
Tariffs are only a single lever and yes, ‘Oppose using tariffs as a tool of coercion’: China on Trump’s warning of 10% tariff to countries aligning with BRICS.
But everything in finance is “geared” as you can see: Move one price and the whole system has to adjust because of how the leveraging works.
The BRICS countries are a big enough body pile that if they decide to settle all trade deals in Chinese Yuan, then Uncle Sam‘s got him a Ben Dover moment. If you’re over 30, you’ll remember Ben Dover as the economist behind the Central Bankster’s continuous inflation model. Which replaced purchasing power with debt.
Some people get all worked up over the crookedness of the system. But as the life and times of our Developer-in-Chief show the old saying in finance circles goes like this:

Around the Ranch: Dishwasher Warfare
Before we begin How to survive dishwasher software tyranny in 2025, a bit of theme first: An old-time firehouse favorite of Pappy’s – popular when someone got skinned up a bit at a fire. All about “toughing it out.”

And so, DIY’ers, we are all reminded why some people wear gloves when working. Especially on a dishwasher. Because the rails cut from metal haven’t had their edges broken and yes, the two gashes on the hand self-sealed before I had to get after them with the super glue.
As luck would have it, this is oral surgery week. So I am already phasing down the baby aspirin. Next time you’re planning to be in a multi vehicle collision, stop taking baby aspirin 10-days before the wreck, so you’ll clot faster. (We’re full of help and useful tips, right?)
Part 2: A wash cloth, cold water rinse, and Windex and paper towels, and one again it was looking more like a construction site than a murder scene. I turned on the power.
Damn thing beeped, but wouldn’t start.
Half an hour of troubleshooting later, I resorted to reading the manual.
“Open the door, put in dishes. With the door still open, press start and quickly close the door…”
Why would I press start with the door open? That doesn’t make any sense.
The clouds parted, the Sun came out, and birds began to chirp. Of course! Product Safety Lawyers have now taking over programming of home appliances. It all made perfect sense, for a minute or two. Then I began shaking again.
When will someone make OpenSource appliance code and put a USB port on everything? This kind of door interlock thinking would have ruined Hansel and Gretel. Does anyone have a Frigidaire cheat code to solve? Washes dishes fine. Even takes blood out.
Further Studies: Ley’ed
Crawling under counters earlier, I had found myself wondering about ley lines. Put to the AI stack, turns out no one has ever measured ley line energies. They are just pop-sci and pseudo-sci about so-called “power centers” of “spiritual or vital” energy.
But here’s the weekend ponder that was bothering me: Seems there are claims all over the web that dowsing can find ley lines. And dowsing does work to some degree. But no one knows precisely why.
“Dowsing lacks a scientifically plausible mechanism. Proponents suggest it detects subtle energies or intuitive signals, but no such energies have been measured by instruments like magnetometers or electromagnetic field meters. The movement of dowsing rods is often attributed to the ideomotor effect, an involuntary muscle response influenced by subconscious expectations, not external phenomena.”
The AI stack is very skeptical of this whole line of inquiry:
Dowsing does not work in scientific testing beyond what would be expected by chance. Rigorous, double-blind experiments consistently show no reliable ability to detect hidden objects or substances.
OK, so dowsing MIGHT work. But the week’s thinking process ahead is trying to figure out “Who, but more particularly under what circumstances was dowsing first discovered? Is it just an artifact of play with the Universe (or ontology)? Poke this way because there’s no life-sim code for that yet?
I don’t expect to find an answer (so I likely won’t, eh?). Still, it’s an infinitely extensible something to hold consciousness focused on while under nitrous and having oral surgery this week….
One more for the Woo Pile: We don’t follow the work of Vedic astrologer Joni Paltry, but our consigliere does. So 11 days back here’s her take on July. The logical question is whether her water references could have pointed to Texas flooding? You make the call.

Joni Paltry – not buying it at all. Green eyes, swirling (out of a bottle) blonde locks, batting those fake eyelashes – how can anyone be so gullible?? Fake, fake, FAKE. Admittedly I only watched the first five minutes – it really doesn’t take that long to get an energy vibe. I’ve been surfing the prophecy channels for the last year or so. Not one seer predicted the Gaza conflict – the Israeli attack on Iran – the US bombing of Iranian nuclear sites – even the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Believers in prophecy BELIEVE. That is all they are capable of. They never circle back, are never accountable but are so effusive in their adulation that it can only be considered a mind virus or a cult in my view. “Pole” becomes the key to understanding the last line. It may mean lance, standard, or missile. “[The] war [in] doubt, his pole [in] Bastarnan (Ukraine/Southern Poland)”. If we take “son” as “his” implying the “British nation”, then at face value, the 2014 NATO coup d’état in Ukraine involves the planting of NATO’s standard in Ukraine.

Sixain XIII contains the same years as Sixain XXVIII above. NATO invaded Libya in 2011 and instituted a coup d’état in Ukraine in 2014. Readers should note the number of times these years come up in The Sixains. This is ample proof that the 1600 Series Code Key is correct.
Only one man fits “the powerful Emperor-General”, Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Logically, “The Adventurer” is the person integral to the NATO invasion of Libya and the NATO coup d’état in Ukraine. The metaphors for “gall” could be bitterness, rancor, or audacity and boldness.
The metaphors for “egg” could be something akin to an incubating egg ready to hatch, or seeds, such as sowing the seeds of discontent.
However, I wonder if we have a dual allusion here to Russia and the famous Fabergé eggs that were made for the Russian Tsars.
If Nostradamus’ poetry is hard to understand, readers can fall back on what I wrote in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2023.

Yes I have become a hardened critic of prophecy, but not of you. I have read a number of your meticulously researched posts and have given them a lot of thought. I see you as a scholar and someone who is science-driven. You interpret, reflect, adjust and find a way to make some sense of a world that seems to be a swirling vortex of chaos.
I do have questions though about time. The older I get the more I see time as the only tether to this world. Do the past, present and future really all exist simultaneously? I used to think so. Now I’ve come to suspect that if all possible outcomes exist in some sort of fluid state, it is TIME that precipitates our reality. It is the magic reagent that causes matter to coalesce out of the quantum foam.

Hi George, your mention of ley lines, dowsing, and AI’s scepticism of dowsing piqued my interest again. I was into dowsing for a long time when I looked for Gold in the California Sierra Nevada. Twelve years ago, I created a dowsing video titled “Dowsing for Gold II & $3,000 Gold Nugget” (Channel “Funnyaccent1″). It showed the principle of the rods” crossing over a nugget. Years before that, I had my 20-acre gold claim. Using dowsing rods for exploration, I pinpointed a spot at a waterfall that indicated a primary metal concentration underneath. I couldn’t reach it with a 4-inch dredge, and the boulders were too large for me to move. I gave up on it and told the later buyers of the claim that there “might be” a good gold concentration at the location. When the new buyers took over, with a larger dredge and a more extensive workforce, they unearthed a solid 4-oz Gold nugget (today’s value $13,260) exactly where the dowsing rods had pinpointed it.
I also found more Gold with further dowsing. I still can’t explain the exact science behind it. However, now that I have published a book on the mechanism of the “Dualverse,” I may speculate that an energy field composed of electromagnetic and positronmagnetic field forces exists that directs dowsing rods to reveal the locations of specific dense objects, such as metals, water, etc. Science cannot explain many worldly or universal phenomena because they have not yet acknowledged the existence of a “dualverse”. IF they ever started looking for it, it would become obvious and would explain many other yet-unsolved ‘mysteries’.

I’ve witnessed Dowsing in person twice. I bought a 10 acre parcel here in Temecula in 1986 back when there wasn’t much out here and nobody had ever heard of Temecula. I was 25, dumb, young and well you know. First thing was to drill a well. Found a local Native American gentleman who could find water by Dowsing with 2 twigs. I thought it was total BS but was persuaded by my mother in law to trust this guy. I walked with him while he covered the property and sure enough his twigs went crazy over one particular spot, he said there was good water there. Contacted the local well digging company a week later to come dig the well, they’d been drilling wells in the area for decades. When the well guy came out he used copper rods to dowse the property, he decided on a specific spot, exactly where the Indian said was good water. I never told him I had the Indian out there the week before. They drilled there, 160 feet, after 30 it was was solid rock the rest of the way down. 30 gpm which was considered good for the area. Excellent clean water that needed no filtering. Put a 5000g tank and had all the water we needed for horses, trees and 2acre pond.

I bought a new dishwasher from Sears in 2012, with extended warranty, had problems, they repaired it a few times, eventually they fixed it, worked perfectly. I was thinking that maybe they just built it on a Friday, and didn’t put it together correctly. In 2020 we remodeled the kitchen, and added another dishwasher- we are a family of 7 – my wife purchased 2 new dishwashers. Both units were damaged and leaked on 1st test run, probably from being stacked up during storage or transit, so old faithful from 2012 was brought back in and was our only functional dishwasher. One company sent us another dishwasher, this one worked perfectly, and is still working to this day. The other dishwasher- a Kitchen Aid- sent a repair guy who rebuilt the entire thing onto a new frame. It worked well while it ran, only lasted 4 years, I believe the seal on the door had cheap screws that let moisture get into the control board every time it ran, and it went wonky over time. We replaced it with one from Costco a few months ago…
They hand us a new one every two years..we get the extended warranty. they use low quality parts.the one we got now is almost two years old now ..( five months left ) and has had five repair visits all do to a cheap plastic part.

We are still suffering from having too much fun. I survived from Thursday morning through today without touching tech much / at all. My laptop went into a kitchen cabinet and I never approached either desktop. Initially there was a Tremor in the Force but it receded over the weekend and I hardly missed it. Hmm. It’s comforting being uninformed? Note to self: do more tech desert time.
E2 rolled in, both he and the wife sporting late stage flu / cold bugs, so were happy to sleep a lot. E3 was undoubtedly the viral source, but had no desire to sleep much unless put in solitary. The little fella was a joy. He totally lit up the first time he went into the lake and spent gobs of time wet.
Long ago when we were the young married crew here, at the same annual shindig, our crowd grew stupid big (think we maxed out at 60-ish guests). Then they all started having kids (we were trying but) and, well do the math. It got out of hand. E2 has loads of friends here in the homeland so they have been coming for a decade. And now they are having kids. Lots of kids.
Hats off to gen2 as they cracked the code. Guest children roll in Saturday morning, often with Grandma, for their quality wet time. The guest level quickly swells to 35-40? Then, before BBQ dinner, the little people vanish (to Grandma’s or a kid kennel?) and sanity sort of returns.
Our YC hosted the usual slew of events over the 3-day, Regatta, Boat Parade, Fireworks (pros shoot off low 5-figure$ of pyrotechniks), Pancake Breakfast (usually serving 400-500 hungry Lakers, to benefit the kids kamp).
It’s the 2nd half (of 2025). Got plans? I’m asleep until my retirement birthday clocks. After that I may get in a couple games. Possibly return to some trading. Wonder where the “juice” came from in H1?

Grandfather, solid German stock from a tiny island in the North Sea, family there with graves from the Roman times, lived in a huge thatch roofed house with half actually the animal barn, windmills, the whole shebang. Was a 33rd degree Mason but was the most kind generous soul to all.
Folks would get him to come to their place and find water. He would bring a pair of ninety degree bent heavy copper wires long on one leg. Holding the short legs in his hands he would walk around their land and the rods would turn one direction or the other, together, pointing the way. When a water source was close the rods would start to spread away from each other. He’d wander around on that spot and find a place where the tips of the rods would come together on center and begin to bounce. He’d count the bounces then say how much water was there and how deep the well would have to be. People put a lot of money into to digging wells on his say so and I never saw him fail. Legend. In his late 70’s. Lived to beer 97.
I could hold the rods and get nothing. He would stand behind me and put his hands on mine and the rods would move. To prove to me there was nothing about the rods that was the deal, he’d have me cut a willow switch or some long soft branch and I would hold it and get nothing. Him behind me with hands on, the switch would move. There was no charge or tingle, just started moving but his hands were still, on mine.
He was the toughest, most hard working man I ever knew. Rode a horse like the cowboy he was when he rode the Lewis and Clark trail from Montana to Oregon in 1905 to look for land with the money he saved working the range for the Blair family ranch. Migrated and became a citizen in 1903.
Living and learning with him was a lifetime foundation. His name was Ernest Clausen.

When our ‘semi-rural’ homestead was cleared for our house (out of boreal W.PA hardwood forest), we had a well drilling company come out to pick the best spot for drilling. Lo and behold, the company owner was a diviner, who used forked twigs from trees on the local property to locate the best area to drill. This gentleman used Easter Black Cherry twigs on our lot, as fruit bearing trees are apparently best for locating water (or so he said). The gentleman identified three areas where we could drill. One was on my neighbors property, which would have required an easement agreement, not my 1st choice. Another was where we envisioned putting out septic tank, and in my state, 100’ min is required between the septic components and a well. The 3rd choice was also our choice, by default essentially. It was in the middle of a ‘swale’ in the terrain, which funneled away from our house and down thru the hardwoods to a creek running hundreds. of feet in elevation below. We had the drilling unit on our property for two days. They hit water at 180’, which was to be expected since we are on a hill at least that far above the. water table and aforementioned creed. That initial well worked fine for over 20 years, until it finally started holding back on production. We purchased a 300 gallon plastic cistern for our basement, along with a float pump and well pump system that would stop trying to supply water when there was none. That worked fine for over 20 years, when we finally had to have a new well drilled about 30’ from the existing one. That one reached 220’. For the last 10 years we’ve had a copious supply of well water – damned fine water too! But I must admit that last year, here in our area of WPA, the supply was wavering at times, especially when we ‘stressed the well.’ (pumped out too much water at once, like when we had our siding cleaned by a pressure washing company).
So, over 30 years with well water, and no regrets. No monthly water bills. No monthly sewage bills. Just periodic maintenance on the fountain of life on our property. I did the math on our total expenditures for the well and water system, and over the lifetime of drilling two wells and putting in a holding tank, we saved over $15,000 vice having monthly water supply bills for the past 33 years.

People always look at me like I’m a nutty old man, when I tell them society will either go Matrix or Terminator. AI and robotics are a death spiral for the human race. They are a game to extinction, but one we can’t stop playing because there are too many players and they’re bent on domination, whether they themselves realize it, or not. The home of the Defiant America website appears to resolve to an address in Farrell, Pa. The now struggling town is named after a great 19th industrialist James Farrell Sr., a longtime president of US Steel.
The website’s purported public physical home address is situated on a circa 1902 street still signed, but now of back lane character. Google’s Streetview vehicle did not turn onto the semi-paved dirt track thoroughfare. However it can be said that the roof has not caved in on a single story structure clad in a rusting corrugated iron finish which graces the site. The edifice overlooks a vast expanse of greenspace resembling a formerly manicured lawn. The space is empty save for two Canada Geese taking respite. A luxury motor vehicle of foreign manufacture is parked at one adjacent neighbor’s property. Standing on the other side is a car free multi-story building perhaps of civic office utility in historical times. Now it offers residence to unhoused individuals.
Standing atop the grassy knoll, one could easily see across the Pennsylvania state highway road where stands a massive US Steel plant until its1992 bankruptcy. Now the industrial concern bears signage of its Russian owner in partnership with a Swiss entity.
The sons of Mr. James Farrell Sr. made out finely themselves by co-founding Farrell Shipping Lines trading on 20th century high seas between the USA and South Africa. The line became a subsidiary 20 years ago of the Danish shipping conglomerate, Maersk. According to “Wikipedia”, Farrell Lines now focuses on providing RO/RO shipping services for US military customers.
Dunno about Ley lines, but Tetrahedral geometry at 19.5 degrees latitude is a reality that I live upon. Summit of Mauna Loa, the largest volcanic mountain mass on the planet is….. 19.5 degrees latitude. Care to guess about Olympus Mons on Mars… largest volcano in the solar system? The great Red Spot on Jupiter? Neptune and Uranus have spots, too. All at 19.5 latitude.
