          People keep talking about these restricted AI models like mythos as if they’re locked away in some perfect secret vault, but once more than a handful of people have access, it’s not a secret anymore Aka only forty organizations have access— it becomes an American ‘unknown’ that everyone actually knows . Forty organizations, hundreds of researchers, techs, contractors, interns, custodial staff, break?room chatter… that’s not containment, that’s full circulation.
          Every major ‘top secret’ in history eventually ends up as A?section page six news, long before anyone admits it’s real…
          And the louder the effort to discredit it, the more obvious it becomes that the truth already slipped out.
          Whenever you read something that makes you think, ‘Oh come on, that can’t be true,’ watch what happens next. If hundreds of millions of dollars suddenly get poured into PR campaigns, denials, and ‘fact?checking blitzes,’ that’s usually a sign the story hit closer to reality than anyone wants to admit.
          History shows that uncomfortable truths don’t get calmly disproven — they get aggressively buried.
          And while everyone’s being told to look at some loud, recycled political drama,AKA (” the campaign dead horse issue”) the real threat is often the quiet, technical one in the background.
          That’s why these autonomous AI systems worry me they are in fact Pandora’s box. Not because of the headlines, but because of how fast the conversation gets redirected the moment someone starts asking the right questions..

        With the Hormuz goings-on, I was completely unaware that an American pirate had claimed uninhabited South Atlantic’s Tristan de Cunha in 1811. Apparently he renamed it the Island of Refreshment until English annexation in 1816.

        This past May 6th, the world’s still most remote island’s government webpage received updates from its powers-that-be. Indeed, a cruiseship voyaging from Ushaia named after a Dutch cartographer had disembarked an ill passenger with what turns out allegedly to be the hantavirus andes variant.         Recall last week a seemingly crazed man bolted past security scanners at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He was shot at by the Secret Service and msm broadcast images of him being restrained on a carpet bearing a pattern not entirely unlike biohazard markers.     I opened the letter from “Lady Fingers” this morning.
    I can’t share most of what she wrote [ typed ] in the five page letter., as it is very personal and as close to a death-bed confession as you can get. She explained why she was telling me and why she felt like she had to tell someone of her past. [ Even her son knows very little of what she wrote.] Damn.., She was one hell of a woman. Absolutely a movie in the making.
    She enclosed a few things. One, was a photo of this very attractive woman dealing cards at a green velvet covered poker table. A young Frank Sinatra was to her left, and who looks like Peter Lawford to her right., the other two across the table you can not see very clearly – but guesses can be made. There is one hell of a lot of money on that table. I would guess very early sixties. She was a very good looking blond woman. I can see why she was in demand. I have already matted and framed it. With her real name written on the back.
    One other item of interest was a 10 ounce gold bar, in a hard plastic protection case. She thought I should have it. She won it in a private bet – over me. That I would not only win a certain poker game., but clean the table. I remember that game well – and I did clean the entire table., with an evil ‘Doc’ vengeance., with a guy that was supposedly one of the best in the country. He absolutely ‘wasn’t’ ! Just an arrogant ass., who managed to piss me off – which she said would probably happen – she nailed it. [ She never told me about this bet.]
    She said that she regretted my stepping away from the game. She felt I could have become one of the best-known players in the country. A lot of people have asked her just who “Three Piece” was., and will he play again. “Tell him he has a standing invitation.” She never told anyone my name, or where I live. [As we had agreed upon.] So that contact is gone forever.
    There were a few other oddities in the envelope.., like a solid silver poker chip from a long-gone casino in the Bahamas., with a funny story – it immediately went into my pocket and will be carried as a good-luck / remembrance piece. A few other ‘things’.

    After reading the letter – I poured a double bourbon, went out to the koi pond and tipped a salute to an incredible woman – the likes of which we may never see again. It’s an era that is long gone.

    She is going to be missed., by a lot of people. I will never look at a deck of cards again without thinking of her. Lucky to have met her.

  9. Any sovereign state actor could drop serious AI engine code and models through filesharing sites, or even a single posted magnet link. It could not be stopped without shutting down much of the internet. When sufficiently evolved, it would allow significant functionality on a decent gaming machine or network of them. Just like you could build a highly functional weapon with a minimal machine shop, AI will proliferate. It cannot be detected like radiation from a distance, and can easily be copied. The real fix for the earth is universal deep empathy. That would be a true miracle.

    The U.S. Attorney’s office in D.C. issued a press release on Wednesday. An alleged gunman apprehended along the V.P.’s motorcade route last Monday has been charged as described in their following webpage link:

    The alleged shooter is said to be from Midland, Tx. perhaps already known to polite company as a past domicile of #41 and #43.     As chance would have it, the D.C. shooting location area of 14th to 15th Streets and Independence Avenue coincides with the flying saucer arrival of alien Klaatu to planet Earth in the 1951 film “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.

  14. I’ve got questions about comments made by paying customers after they have signed in.
    The posts made after logging in seem to disappear into a time warp. They don’t show up on either the public or PN side. Then, days or even weeks later, they show up on the Reader Comments shortcut list on the PN side. If you are on the PN side, and get out and go back to the Public side, Comments still go down the rabbit hole and are not visible until much later.
    I thought Ure censor was gonging my posts initially, only for them to show up much later on the PN side in the Reader Comments list. I posted one today about Vance and the demon alienses while in the Public side (but after I had gotten in and out of the PN side), and it looks like it was abducted by the alienses. I hope the comment doesn’t get visibly probed before it is dumped in the PN ditch. Those alien censors are nasty little buggers.

    • I see how the alien abduction storyline would fit. But, as in real life, there may be a suitable explanation.
      As – as usual, it’s probably my fault. (Check with Elaine on this – most everything is, lol).
      OK so here’s the zero-drama workflow around here: I am a really busy – worflow – kind of guy. When I hit publish on asn article (uwrban or PN) and check that it’s appearance is OK, I disappear for a couple of hours. (Not aliens – usually work like mowing or something) then I come bvack about 10-11:30 AM and go through comments – but here’s the error: I check Urban because almost no one subscribes to PN and therte is very little comment traffic over there.
      Pinky swears I will be more mindful of checking PN comments, too. But when rolling on a big kproject, it’s note uncommon for me to miss ()or mrs) several days.
      So there you have it – bad gfeorge, no aliens, but5 the deep state really IS out to get us all. Which is why I still have 80+ hour weeks and lists keep getting longer even now.

    No. Government will limit access to GenPOP — Like the first few years I used GPS navigation, the accuracy for civilian use was about 400 feet. It was a serviceable tool, but not concise, precise, or accurate. This will be the way of AI – it will be lobotomized for home use and only the dot-mils and clearanced scientists will have access to the good stuff.

    We can’t put the genie back, because our economic, and potential military competitors won’t, and most of them are likely to develop both theoretical and physical AI-bots that are not as nice as ours. To keep from losing that which is us, we MUST develop, and stay at least on par, with China and Russia, and anyone else who takes a seat at the table…
