We have it all this morning – just like it matters.
Let’s begin with the government’s Durable Goods report which is stated this way:
“New Orders
New orders for manufactured durable goods in July, up five of the last six months, increased $26.1 billion or 9.9 percent to $289.6 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today. This followed a 6.9 percent June decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 0.2 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 10.4 percent. Transportation equipment, up two of the last three months, drove the increase, $26.4 billion or 34.8 percent to $102.2 billion.
As we mentioned on the Peoplenomics report Saturday, looks to us like the Fed will not be lowering rates September 18th. That will keep the Fed from running afoul the charge of playing politics with rates. You can see the inclination reflected in the CME Fed Watch tool which sits today at 61.5 percent, but the meeting is still 23 days away.
Overnight, Japan’s Nikkei dropped more than 250 points, about 2/3rds of a percent. Which we take as a sign the Western markets will be facing headwinds soon.
Scotch?
Going into the day’s trading action, our Scotch bet (we have a wager that no new closing high of the Aggregate will happen) the Dow and the S&P are “warm” but the Aggregate is still a thousand off:
For the Crypto crowd, having failed in a run to bust $65,000 over the weekend, Bitcoin was under $64,000 when we looked. Not that we would ever have a wallet, but you know how you tend to slow down and look at a wreck by the side of the road? Well…that kind of interest.
Housable
Also, on the look-ahead scope, we should remind you that the Case-Shiller Housing numbers are out tomorrow. And those (plus kissing $35,2 trillion in Public Debt) inflation jitters are back. Gold is over $2,500 and silver has topped $30, again.
Housing means a lot in our view of the world. Two reasons, really. The first is as an “honesty check” on government run inflation schemes. While the Fed and other mouthpieces hold that inflation is “Prices going up” the “Balance in Universe” insists it is ALSO the Purchasing Power of Money going down.
Now, if you’re pimping a “dual mandate” *(stable prices, good employment) it would be financial insanity to admit “We’re watering down your money’s purchasing power by 4- percent a year to make our financial con work out.” (They are, however.)
At the Minneapolis Fed website, you can use their calculator (mid-page, here) to play your own (slightly depressing) “what-if” games with inflation.
Our starter play is to report that what cost $10 in 1913 now costs $318.17. Most of the sheep will nod, sing a few Hosannahs and a “Power to the People” saying “Verily, prices have gone up.”
A few of the old-school numerant-, numerians, and numerere, however will speak up for double-entry accounting. “No, if you divide 10-bucks by 318.17, it tells you your money only buys 3.14 percent of what it used to.
Where did the other – almost 97 percent – go? Why into crookery, of course. the high art of replacing purchasing power with debt.
Most middle-income taxpayers don’t think about the con – little can be done about it now. The horse is “out of the barn” the barn has burned down, and World War III lurks. Still, even if you’re an illegal immigrant who doesn’t file, the 3-4 percent annual average inflation is a tax on you. Welcome to the game board. Learn math and go back and buy cheap real estate in your homeland as soon as possible. Waterfront has done well world-wide, which in Florida astounds us, but we’re rubes about such things.
Runaway Government
When we read San Francisco says ‘good riddance’ as X prepares to leave, we pick up a strong scent of government arrogance and forgetting that government ONLY exists to the extent (and while) it lawfully respects the will of the people. When government sides with homeless and crap-in-the-streets, allows shoplifting (there used to be laws…) and then issues sour grapes about one of the few modern-day financial pioneers? Um…what happened to the People being in charge?
Meanwhile, seeing stories like Possible cyberattack leads to outages at Port of Seattle, Sea-Tac Airport, and seeing how more than 800-thousand jobs were “unlied” out of existence last week, our sense is government has lost its way.
At some level, this has to have been modeled out. We are, after all, not the only neural net thinkers out there…
Warables – The Working Conspiracy
How does government institutionalize its coup – begun with Covid? E.G. the power to decree even things not enumerated in law.
Nuclear war ought to do it. Radiation is a perfect shaping tool for the under 100 IQ crowd – which we fear is actually more than half the country.
The State Department, intelligence agencies, military-industrial-death complexes may be about to get their wish. Because our “working conspiracy” is that before the 71-days to the Election has run, nuclear weapons will have been used and be in play.
Let me give it to you as a potential timeline.
Today: Ukraine is trying to bomb a nuclear power plant in Russia to dump radioactivity on them.
“Russia: The goal of 11,000 Ukrainians was to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant – They did not succeed and now they are trying to bomb it! (vid). And in turnaround fashion, Ukraine’s president says Russian overnight attack involved over 100 missiles and about 100 drones | AP News. When we looked, only 3 killed in the initial tally, but could go higher.
IF – and this is the biggie here – IF the Ukrainians blow up the nuke plant, then we are fairly confident that Russia would use one (or more) tactical nukes on Ukraine in reply.
THEN – once the neoliberals – one of whom quit State a couple of months back – see their goal (Russian “first use” – which it isn’t if a power plant is blown first – that would be Ukraine first use) achieved, that would clear the PR obstacles for Israel to nuke the Iranian nuclear facilities which they’ve been working more than a decade to build their own nukes.
IRAN attack by Israel would, in our view, also use a nuke. But the PR Blitz would hold that it was all just conventional ordnance, and any radiation would be Iran’s fault for refining weapons grade where the Israelis were forced to bomb…
The Five Eyes Choir would lead the next hymn: With dangerous levels of radiation floating toward America, how could we have an orderly election? Notwithstanding that during WWII 1940 and 1944 elections were held during World War conditions.
Oh, and if the rad levels are too low to halt the election, the Biden-Harris Junta this scenario encompasses would either goad another nuke into use (landing on America) OR Russia decides to pre-emptively take out American military might with a first-strike.
Peace and Depression follow: Already, we see the financial House of Cards falling with stories like U.S. Treasuries not the safe bet they once were, research says making the rounds. Prequels before release.
While my consigliere’s long-range economic work says the War with China (Big Global War for Everything) won’t be along until 2026-27, the tweaking of Russian leadership continues non-stop. The fall of Vladimir Putin is now only a matter of time. Said the same of Hitler, did they not?
This isn’t much of a Future to anticipate, perhaps. But maybe the skies will part, and common sense will return over Labor Day.
I wouldn’t bet on it.

My buddy the Major sent along a very-much on point video that every American ought to watch. Best damn explanation of how the lefties and crazies are “working it.” Please spend 3-minutes with Lt Gen WILLIAM “JERRY” BOYKIN – Save America’s Military (substack.com).
Send it to your friends – it’s about recognizing the coup leader efforts to divide and conquer America.
Around the Ranch: Mets and Weps
One of the (zillion) chores done this weekend was mowing of our rifle range. Not a great big, long “reach out and touch” site, like the one up in Frankston, Texas run by 5H Shooting Sports. Still, 100 meters (which for tax purposes really is a fire fuel break line) provides very good peep sight and pistol time.
I like “splat targets” – easier to see. But I haven’t been on the range all summer because of fire risk. That’s about to change.
Local forecast is calling for a half inch of rain, which ought to make shooting practical (without fire liability concerns) next week. Hand me the tracer box?
When you look at the long-range prog charts, think of the red “L’s” as might rain around these indicators. The “H” areas might plan on SPF for next weekend because this is the six-day ahead view:
If it all works out, I may drag a case or two down to the shooting table and light ‘er up. Or not.
Hope reader Hank out on the Big Island didn’t suffer any major water damage. As Hurricane Hone dumped 10-20 inches of rain. But, oh my, it’s not over yet: As Hawaii feels impact from Hurricane Hone, forecasters agree: ‘don’t let your guard down’. 1,200 miles east of Hilo the third major storm of the season has one of the worst storm names ever: “Gilma.” From A.I.:
Gilma
A girl’s name that comes from the Old Norman name Williame, the French name Guillaume, and the German name Wilhelm. It is derived from the Old German words wiljô, which means “will”, and helmaz, which means “helmet”. Gilma is related to the names William and Wilma.
We do so appreciate it when woke culture pauses from insanity long enough to inclusively reference the Flintstone’s clan.

One reason I try to buy as many things American-made as I can. I don’t want to fund this. (Although it does sometimes seem an impossible thing…)

As do I, whenever it’s possible (or sometimes practical.) I shop every marketplace in the world which ships to the United States (yes, I DO have accounts at Mercari and Amazon Japan (and eBay Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, etc.) but I go miles out of my way to shop American, for anything that’s made here, because we can’t fix the problem without patronizing the solution…

Martin Armstrong says…
Beware September!
There appears to be disturbing signs in many markets as we head into the week of September 2nd. We have governments realizing that they are losing power, and as they do, they will get NASTY, to put it mildly. The American Neocons (The Rise of the Neocons) are in a desperate position. Now that RFK has joined with Trump because they are both anti-war, I fear that they are going to get desperate. The Democrats have already torched America by flooding the country with illegals to vote for them against Americans, and they denied the American people any right to even vote for a candidate of their choice. This will be the last election for the US and will most likely split in the year ahead before 2028. I fear that people will either still attempt to kill Trump, perhaps attributing it to bird flu or monkeypox. If they cannot pull that off, they will start World War III ASAP to try to trap Trump and RFK into war. They do not care about anything but their own power.
https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/world-news/censorship-world-news/beware-september/
Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Trump this afternoon. I don’t know what kind of following she has, but she’s an ex-congressman with a silver oak leaf on her collar, and she drove Cammy off the stage during the 2020 Dem debates, so chances are, people do pay attention to her.
I’m waiting for Jay-Z and Bill Mahrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to climb onto the Trump train. I honestly think commie Cammy’s ideas will drive bunches of prominent Dems to hold their noses and vote for their continued existence. Now, if only enough of them would jump that they can outvote the box-stuffers and illegal aliens…
Tulsi, like RFK, comes from a heavily Democrat family in heavily Democrat Hawaii. She went her own way in the military and her own principles. Except that she is a ‘local girl’, she is largely ignored here in deep blue Hawaii. But a lot of people nationwide think that she would be a damn good President.
“But a lot of people nationwide think that she would be a damn good President.”
She’s still a Liberal – she’s just not a social pervert or loony Lefty nutjob. If you hear her talk, she sounds like a fairly conservative Republican, but that’s because she has actual common sense. Most contemporary political discussion topics aren’t really political, but have been made so by a loud communist minority who’ve grown impatient with the hundred year plan, and have taken to throwing everything imaginable at the nearest wall to see if anything they can use, sticks.
People like Tulsi Gabbard, Alan Dershowitz, and hell, even Donald Trump are not “conservatives” (Trump is not really even a “Republican,” in case anyone forgot the bloody hell the Repugs raised when DJT came down the escalator.) They are people with enough common sense and enough smarts to recognize that our political landscape is not about right and left, but about right and wrong, and that a bunch of social and political miscreants have changed the cultural dynamic to try and affect the political landscape.
RFK said the other day that he did not leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left him. I believe he attributed that statement, because he’s sureashell not the first to make it.
Bobby is not there yet. He’s still a flaming, open-borders, gun-grabbing, zero petroleum Liberal. However, on the issues about which he cares the most, namely the garbage we ingest and inject, and the way our kids are treated, he’s right up there with the common sense crowd.
I honestly believe Tulsi has the potential to become a Trump or Reagan acolyte and eventually grow out of her Democratic past to become a true leader, as they did.
“I fear that people will either still attempt to kill Trump”
The Secret Swervice has now given Trump a bulletproof shield for his podium. At a rally a couple days ago, a woman in the crowd collapsed. Trump stopped speaking and rushed to her aid, until the medics could arrive and take over.
Sniper bait, despite the shield.
Trump actually cares about people, and it’s his nature that he’s going to run toward a problem, to try and fix it (BTDT. It’s an incurable reaction. I’m old and undoubtedly have health issues that billionaires don’t, and I still “run toward the problem…”)
_______________
“If they cannot pull that off, they will start World War III”
Russia/Ukraine is by far the easiest place from which to germinate a broad war. Israel/Iran has potential, but would not be as easy.
Russia is not going to use a nuke unless a NATO nation does a massive nuclear launch against it. WE consider SeaTac and Portland to be U.S. territory. We did not nuke them in 2020, even though a couple 40kt suitcase nukes would’ve solved a lot of problems and cured a lot of ills.
Most Russians consider Ukraine to be Russian territory. They are not going to nuke it under any circumstances. They may flood it with a couple million troops, carpet bomb the entirety of Ukraine from end to end, and kill everything before them that moves, but they’re not loosing the big dogs in UKR, period.
Where Iran/Israel could really take off is if someone made it a general religious war. I believe this is the reason for the current level of antisemitism, both here and abroad. There are only about 25 million Jews, worldwide, and only about 7mln in Israel, where there are about 1.4 billion Muslims. Israel can not afford to trade punches, so if their forces get overrun, they can not survive without erasing Pakistan and probably nuking a bunch of large Middle Eastern cities.
The idea that Israel is waiting for someone else to do a “first use” so they can bunker-bust the Iranian labs is ludicrous. Israel doesn’t fight for money or resources, they fight for survival. If they need to annihilate bits of the mountains and desert in Iran they will do so without hesitation, and they sure as hell won’t care what anyone says about them for doing so. “Must be present to win, remember…?”

When you wrote this,
… “I fear that they are going to get desperate. The Democrats have already torched America by flooding the country with illegals to vote for them against Americans” …
I find it easy to agree although I found the substitution for the words ‘vote for them’, to read, ‘fight for them against Americans’ seems more accurate in view of their latest schemes. Thanks for what you do.
My aggregate “Carnac The Magnificent” shot up on Friday’s close., and is now around 250 points from an all time high.
The DJIA is in new high territory as of this morning. Nasdaq has a ways to go., and is down over 100 points., right now. S&P500 is closing in and is around 20 points from an all time high – which it could break today if Nvidia reports strong earnings. But it just went negative also – down 5 points.
The markets in general are all awaiting Nvidia and just how much more they are going to inflate the A.I. bubble. Been reported that the CEO has been selling his stock to the tune of $14 million a day.
.
Canada just announced that they will impose a 100% tariff on all Chinese EV imports – including Tesla’s.
.., and Nvidia will report after the markets close on Wednesday.
Forget Nividia.

It’s total insanity.
Remember when society actually honored the metrics? Intead of tearing them all down?
What made Boeing was metrics. and now killing it are anti-metrics.
DEI doesn’t survive long in a world of metrics. Less bullshit means cleaner are and we can get back to being One ‘America.

Kamala Proposes $5 Trillion in New Taxes – which would be the Biggest Tax Hike in our history.
The Harris tax plan would:
Raise the corporate tax from 21% to 28%
Quadruple the tax on stock buybacks from 1% to 4%
Double the global minimum tax from 10% to 20%
Raise the top Income tax rate from 37% to 39.6%
Raise the corporate alternative minimum tax from 15% to 21%
Raise the capital gains tax from 24% to 43.5%
Impose the first-ever tax on unrealized capital gains at 25%
Double the number of Americans subject to the death tax
dLynn: What is your source for this “information”? Sounds pretty stupid to put this into public domain before an election.
Could it be a Republican psyop?
dLynn: Excuse me! A quick Google found your claims on the Cato site. Cato is not generally prone to disinformation.
https://www.cato.org/blog/harriss-taxes-unrealized-gains-only-tip-5-trillion-tax-iceberg
I got the numbers posted above from Yahoo Finance. “usually” reliable.
Well, that should about do the trick…
Comments on proposed taxes:
Raise corporate taxes from 21% 28%. In practical terms, that will raise the Russell 2000 tax burden from negative percent to a somewhat less negative percent.
Never benefitted from a stock buy-back.
Top income and alternate corporate minimum tax rates don’t affect anyone I have sympathy for.
Raising the capital gains tax to 43.5% and adding in an unrealized capital gains tax of 25% affects anyone with real estate or savings, and trashes everyone’s estate planning. That is the most bald-faced Stalinist confiscation plot ever foisted on this country. It will destroy what’s left of the middle class, and their heirs. About the only money making transaction it doesn’t affect is government IOU’s. But wait, if you own a term bond, and the net present value goes up, do you suddenly owe a 25 percent tax on the unrealized gain, rather than your bracket tax rate when it matures ?
Real estate is the biggy, in a hyperinflation environment. The house has gone up a 1000% according to a guvmint assessor since you bought it. So now you suddenly owe 25% of that inflated assessment to the Treasury, or the IRS seizes your home and puts you on the street? Do you understand how much money is represented by 25% of all unrealized capital gains on real estate in this country ? The Fed could not provide enough loans to stop a complete meltdown of real estate ownership and 100% seizure by the IRS.
Brokerage accounts woudld all melt down as well. Buy and hold investors suddenly get hit with a 25% bill for all the capital gains in their account for long term holdings.
Possible dodge- sell every capital asset then rebuy before the end of the year, giving you a new capital gain base. Fairly easy to do with a discount brokerage account; more convoluted with real estate. Likely to have bad consequences for real estate taxes.
I need to know more about the death tax meme.
Other news sites say t he unrealized capital gains tax will only apply to those worth more than $100 million.
That is something that can be changed in 10 seconds in impending legislation. And that’s the problem.
I doubt that it would be constitutional to limit damage to wealthy private individuals. Corporations would be hit too. It will still bankrupt a large a segment of corporations holding commercial real estate and stocks. This isn’t something you can build into a business model after the fact. It would still be a 100 story tall black swan sh!tting on corporate America.
“The Fed could not provide enough loans to stop a complete meltdown of real estate ownership and 100% seizure by the IRS.”
Remember the goal of Agenda 2030? You will own nothing and like it. That would be a big step in that direction.
Interesting lesson on the impact of taxing unrealized capital gains… Norway expected an additional $150M in annual tax revenue, but caused $54B in wealth to flee the country, costing them $600M in annual tax revenue. (TikTok@vidile)
These are the current capital gains rates:
https://thecollegeinvestor.com/23577/capital-gains-tax-brackets/#:~:text=There%20are%20two%20main%20categories%20for%20capital%20gains%3A,from%20January%201%2C%202024%20to%20December%2031%2C%202024.
Based on what I am hearing about the proposed unrealized capital gains, that effectively eliminates the long term capital gains discount.
Reestablishing a new capital gains base would not be free, but long term capital gains are a hell of a lot less than short-term or unrealized. Not sure how this would affect IRA owned properties being bought from oneself. Hmmm – another dodge ?
MARTIN ARMSTRONG: They want to claim that social media lately deals with taxing unrealized capital gains as misinformation. They insist that Harris’ $5 trillion plan to tax unrealized gains will only apply to $100 million or more. They said the same scheme applied to income tax in 1913. Even if it taxing unrealized gains applied ONLY to those at the $100 million level and up, those people would be forced to sell their shares (1) ahead of the tax or (2) to pay taxes.
Guess what! That will create a stock market crash that will impact everyone’s savings and pensions. They don’t want to talk about that.

Unrealized Gains Tax? Write ’em a check dated ten years in the future. Mark “Void until due date” “Unrealized Tax payment”.
“Where did the other – almost 97 percent – go? ”
1913 – 10 years previous, 1903 the Wright brothers flew the first powered airplane. 100 years later +/- we have the GSE Boeing on our backs because constituents demand national security. Boeing can’t even get people out of space and all the astronauts have to do is freefall back to Earth like Felix Baumgartner.
What’s the true cost of an airplane ticket after backing out all subsidies? People would be driving to Disney World. A lot of gators are on our backs and people are always demanding one more. Rumor was SpaceX was to save the Boeing astronaut instead of the Space Force. We have to have a Space Force, national security.
It’s all there.
With all the great news out there ,aka wars, 800,000 jobs that were never there , it’s no wonder the markets are going sky high. And don’t forget about inflation and cumhola’s tax raises.

hell… I want to forget math..
if it is a planned invasion to bring on the Cloward Piven act..the destruction of all fiat currencies.. and doing exactly what the have said for decades.. put an army within the borders..to get revenge from within the borders.. and the poison pawn trap..get us to destroy ourselves..use up strategic reserves and divide and conquer..they have won this already it only took a few bucks some good drugs and plenty of sexual partners of all ages..
who has the five trillion. who could afford it..the interest on the deficit is growing exponentially.. why would they want to go back. if there is a jihad caliphate.. what’s ours is theirs..
with California going to hand out houses..
and the wealthiest evacuating the country..
its a mess..
over fifty percent of our income is gone before we get it..home taxes doubled and we have been told its going up another 30 percent next year.. the cost of an average home is at a percentage already that isn’t sustainable..
brings to mind the business model and the Amish.. Amish colony the youth feels no stress.. while I see everyone stressed around me.
two young girls were over a week ago playing with my grandkids..they stayed for supper snacks and one of the girls said I really like tomatoes.. so I took them over a bag the other day..only to discover that that meal and tomatoes was the only food they had had in over a week.
now I cannot help them..I don’t want to get drawn into their drama..but I will drop a box of food off..
There is help out there for people with children. If the “parents” won’t ask for it , then they could lose their children for not taking care of their needs. It is unforturate .
sadly.. I live in the wastelands.. and where they live is a bad spot.. a small village he has no car there are no jobs in this town and the ones that there are are all minimum wage..
there is some public assistance if you are a woman like maybe a twenty buck deal a month.. and you have to have a car there isn’t anyone in any govt institution that will or would in any way shape or form go do something.. well you could but that has to deal with hanging a doughnut on a string and a pole LOL LOL.. there is nothing for men been there done that.. women usually get tanif or rent assistance but rent assistance and low income rent is still two grand month that the one getting it has to come up with..its like when I tried to get a guy I knews daughter some help in spokane..I even knew the head of the program there.. but the waiting period is extensive she ended up dying from her drug issues the seedy side of that city got ahold of her and took advantage of her addiction.. this one is not addicted just poor….. but even then it is a one time shot and tanif if a young woman has a child is only for one or two months and it doesn’t amount to diddle.. not the grand scale that you read that people think.. and they make you feel extremely rotten if you seek it..
They make it sound good but really it is just a paperwork giant that doesn’t do any good.. unless your an illegal.. talked to one a couple weeks ago he said he got ten grand for coming across the border.. LOL I told the wife we needed to go to mexico and I can buy us some costumes and we could get free airfare home and ten grand each LOL LOL
I need to get some sleep though so I will make sure I drop off a couple of boxes.. I got a glance into the apartment when I handed over the tomatoes..
NO CRAP.. everyone has crap on the counter everywhere.. everyone has crap.. no dishes in the sink and no furniture.. so I will make sure there is a pot .. so the twelve year old that likes to cook can have a pan.. a bag of plastic plates and bowls .. and a couple boxes of groceries.. then I will be able to sleep tonight.. or maybe even take a nap.. I will toss in a couple of cups to.. the two girls is 9-12..
oh and every job there is he would have to walk no less than fifteen miles to get to it.. and get back.. been down that road myself and can tell you that… SUCKS …LOL LOL LOL

How often do you look at your drivers license? I can not remember the last time I did. I remember a couple of months back a store clerk wanted to see my license – and I refused. She had no need for that info. – But actually ‘look’ at it. I have no idea when.
Just discovered that my license expired three years ago. So.., I went up to the license shop here in town, only to discover that they have closed it down., just over a year ago. Seems the State wanted save some money – as they throw another $140 million to the homeless in Seattle.
The nearest licensing office is now a two hour drive away. Two hours to get there., two hours to get back., and probably an hour, at least, getting it done.
What a friggin’ hassle.
Check and see if you need to take an exam again before you make the drive.
Here we have a 6 months “grace” after the license expires to get a new one but after that you have to go through the exam process again. (written and PRE-SCHEDULED driving test)
OH … and if it is expired and you do have to take the exam do NOT drive yourself ALONE to the exam. Auto FLUNK here, plus ticket for “Driving Without a License, if someone shows up for the exam driving themselves with nobody else in the car.
Hope it is not a difficult process where you are!!
Don’t forget to take your birth certificate on the first trip, else you may be making another one.
around here you have to have an appointment..then give several sources of Identification .. while I was in the office.. several from out of the country came in and got theirs.. no id’s or anything needed.. I had to show mail taxes etc.. birth certificate..
In Texas, if you let your license expire, watch out!
Gotta produce birth certificate and fill out very extensive background info, names, birthdates, birth cities, states, and nations of parents’ births.
Big government, 1984, and
Real ID.
same here.. gotta have all kinds of records.. and official mail.. except if you are an illegal.. they don’t have to produce anything.. one of the daughters friends heads up the licensing office.. we go rounds about that one all the time.. yup here is our family bible and photo album.. LOL I had to go get a birth certificate at the court house.. and social security number.. bring in the past years taxes…and mail LOL LOL LOL LOL it was embarassing to..
Some States require a driving test, if your license is more than 1-year expired (unless you’re overseas-based military.) You may need to make an appointment with a driving examiner and if so, will be pissing away a day in an inefficient manner if’fn you don’t do so in advance…
“an hour, at least, getting it done.” ROFL! Better check if an ‘appointment’ is needed before you go. Otherwise you may be waiting all day for an available ‘walk in’ slot. That’s how it is here… appointments. And sometimes the soonest appointment is an office at the far side of the island… two hours away.
I honestly don’t know if they have walk in slots here.. I think it is all totally by appointment.. and if you gotta get it done this week you had better hustle.. this is a govt office and this is a holiday week.. sucks.. they are all getting ready to do the macarena
Half-baked idea… (Probably no good…. But…)
They say we have all these homeless — many of which are half-crazy veterans — all these “illegal aliens” — who can’t be called that; but must rather be called “migrants,” “guest workers,” or even most recently “New Americans,” to avoid the Offense of saying something UN-PC… (God forbid we call something what it actually is…)
Some of these folks are put up in expensive hotels at public (taxpayer — US!) expense. Many more are left to their own devices to survive. Many get sick and die from eposure, or are preyed upon by street criminals and become paranoid and fearful, or drug-addicted and driven to crime themselves.
To encourage thousands to migrate here, unsupported, is an act of cruelty.
Even so…
Many warehouses are currently empty or under-utilized.
“Butler buildings” are cheap enough to easily be put up.
Such large, undivided spaces (un-used schools?) could be easily divided up into many small living spaces, similair to but better than storage warehouses.
Per-unit costs would be FAR below using downtown hotels. Reasonable levels of security and safety would
be easier to provide than at downtown hotels — or the streets. Bus service could be extended to serve downtown or prospective employment areas.
It ain’t much, but it’s a start that would afford some privacy, safety, order, and a beginning “base.”
“Some 2 x 4s, a little drywall, and some plumbing.”
..and a little humanity and imagination — things the goddam predator parasite politicians (or billionaires) seem to lack…
It all sounds oh so deliciously possible.
But the flaw?
Our political class doesn’t want to solve a damn thing.
Housing, immigration, abortion, drugs, colleges turning into financial rather than educational…don’t get me started.
but we know who the problems are – the elected ones.
Nein, nein,nein!
– it is in fact the un-elected WHO are Ure MASTERS, and Humanities biggest Problem.
Keep denying it Stoclholm George, keep denying and hiding it..by saying nothing & surpressing the truth – you have become part and parcel to the talmudic world order..dark souls indeed .
Yeah, Hard Truth, 90% of U.S. Businesses refuse to use E-Verify:

Illegals do the dirty work that U.S. workers wont do:

I wonder if that is why everyone seems to love those new slave traders.. get them to work for nothing..
NOW I have done some shitty jobs.. Steam cleaning blood tanks.. that is a sucky job.. I couldn’t even get Mike Rowe of dirty jobs fame interested in doing that one LOL.. to dirty.. and trust me just talking about it has that horrid smell in my mind.. YUCK..
there are three jobs that I wouldn’t do for any price again.. that is one of them.. People want to work.. employers want to be able to make an income without having to raise prices so they want the cheapest labor they can get.. that is why the hospitals have the witch hunt every fall.. to justify the multi million dollar wages they get they hit the support staff hard and dump a great deal of them.. then don’t allow them to have unemployment compensation because that just increases what they have to pay..
had one ceo tell me if he could he would send a bus down to mexico and pick up employees.. get six for the wages of one..
“our political class” IS the problem.
Cruel, cynical, egocentic, zero-skills (other than getting their worthless evil butts elected) cash and power-obssessed… Classis Con Artists…
IF the people ever were to rise up, it would be — should be — an ugly Thing.
what I never could figure out.. is I can see getting bamboozeled once.. but why after they have proven that they ware worthless as tits on a boar do they keep getting voted back in.. if they doe a shitty job don’t go to work.. there was one candidate for president that they claimed he only came one third of the work time.. hell.. congress only works twenty six days a year.. so he showed up for a week of work..
my doctor or one of my doctors.. he gets sixteen weeks of vacation.. half a year off and if he works it right on federal holidays he could extend that by using the holidays as par of vacation time.. I helped him figure that he could get as much as twenty six weeks off.. just by scheduling vacation around federal holidays..
on at eight am out the door by three thirty.. long gone .. that is the only thing hurting the va healthcare system.. they run it like a government office..
“Our political class doesn’t want to solve a damn thing.”
You’re learning. The pols don’t fix anything — they “manage” stuff. Were they to fix a problem, they would lessen their power and importance.
In a nod to BCN, he’s exactly right.
The unelected bureaucrats can’t be fired, and are the managers who deal with the problems the politicians allegedly tackle. Fix a problem and the pols would have to find something else for the bureaucrats to manage.
The solution is to replace the pols and change the rules so the unelected can become the unemployed. That’s one hell of a twofer and it’s exactly the one which makes the Establishment of both Parties fear Trump the most. They are scared to death (some likely literally) that Trump could actually shitcan all the dead wood in D.C.
oh trust me.. my dream home would be a rammed earth home.. seen some that was going to be taught to service men after world war to and lumber shortage.. the colleges were going to teach the process to the returning military.. all of a sudden cheap lumber showed up ..
the true challenge is.. the government regulations.. the same thing with factory manufactured homes.. the only challenge is.. you guessed it government regulations.. even though they exceed the requirements..
a few years ago.. I bought a rammed earth block machine for some missionaries to build a church a school and clinis homes etc.. in africa.. I also had one delivered to me.. sitting patiently in the garage..

A college professor acquaintance in Kansas built one and the students built a couple of buildings and did a lot of tests one summer for extra credit.. their best mix was five parts of sand agregate.. three parts of clay and two parts of portland cement.. the blocks the kids made and let cure did better than the ones they purchased..
the only thing it required was man power.. I was going to get some college kids to build a storm shelter for me.. but that summer was non stop weather.. so it didn’t happen..
I did oversee a straw house made at the college.. it was amazing to watch the kids work.. shipping for the one to the missionaries.. was hardly anything at all.. the shipping and other expenses for myself.. OH MY GOD expensive.. the machines were hardly anything at all.. they did a well to.. now sure how they did it.. I thought they were going to use the wagon wheel well drilling machine from BYU

Good luck, the homeless problems exist because the sanctuary cities, all run by demoncraps want it that way.
Their million dollar plus solutions, more like experiments, never work except to continue to drain the coffers that the citizens taxes filled, so more taxes are needed.
The citizen population is being replaced by completely funded and supported newcomers which also reduces the coffers.
Every demoncrat run city in amerika is experiencing this rise in lawlessness, homeless population, completely funded illegal population.
It’s outrageous, illegal, corrupt, and no American voted for this invasion, takeover, but here it is.
What has Nancy Pelosi repeatedly recently stated?
She’s a cold-blooded reptilian and she is going to win this next election.
She wants a trifecta: presidency, house, and senate.

Folks,
Wikipedia offers that the last restaurateur to the Telegram co-founder lately of French security service domicile and his Russian sextuple linguist lady friend is also an ex son-in-law of the President of Azerbaijan. Fans of DJ George will be overjoyed to learn that the scion had a singing career whose trajectory catapulted him to the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow. (The Crocus concert hall venue portion of the complex remains closed since the Isis terror attack of last March.)
Let’s join DJ George now and get some steps in with Emin belting out “In Another Life” assisted by a bevy of contestants. Spoiler alert: fans of 45 may wish to jump ahead to the 3m30s mark in the YouTube stream and find out who got fired.

I have two places where I can renew mine. Each about an hour away, but then I’m WAY out in the boonies. One to the South in Omak and one to the North in Oroville.
That’s assuming the DOL website is up to date.
Oops, I intended for this to be a reply to dLynn’s driver license post. :)
Well I survived. Ham network this morning shared stories and reports of what worked, and what didn’t. Some need better backup power for extended outages. Hurricane HONE was a good shakedown cruise of emergency operations for everyone, Civil Defense included. Kudos to the Hawaiian Electric crews who were playing ‘whack-a-mole’ repairing widespread small outages in hurricane rain conditions all over the island. Final peak rainfall was 22 inches in 24 hours at Volcano Village. Incoming storms Gilma and Hector are expected to die out to remnant low conditions by the time they reach the islands. They will bring some moisture, but not the terrible storm conditions we had this weekend. Downtown Hilo is flooded yet, but that is normal as the flood plain there takes runoff before draining out to sea. Normally it’s a park and soccer field, so the flooding does no damage. We get rain dumps like this every year, so we are accustomed to it. And it drains well here.
Just read that the government of the joo’s are going after the palestinians crypto currency. Something about the money of terrorism. Up next , cumhola thinks it’s a good idea.
“When government sides with homeless and crap-in-the-streets”
I think it’s always been the same only demographics changed.
Pre Social Security days it was the aged out in the streets. So .gov sided with them.
And before welfare/EBT people abandoned their unaffordable children. So .gov sided with them. No SS investigators/numbers or cameras/DNA evidence back then.
People who couldn’t afford a parent or child would drop it off anywhere and those who found a stray kid could keep it, they were called ‘foundlings’.
foundlings
an infant that has been abandoned by its parents and is discovered and cared for by others.
Now it’s unheard of, even a crime setting a parent out by the big tree or giving a kid away on CL.
There is help out there for people with children. If the “parents” won’t ask for it , then they could lose their children for not taking care of their needs. It is unforturate .
“IRAN attack by Israel would, in our view, also use a nuke.”

I’ve been expecting some kind of ‘nuclear leverage’ to be used before elections. I hope like hell I, and George, are wrong, but the scenario laid out is way too plausible to ignore. Got a new geiger counter, and just ordered a bucket of freeze-dried proteins from Costco.com at $80 discount. Funny, I still don’t feel any better.
Put on your best Frankie Goes to Hollywood…
I’m not seeing it, because once the first nuke flies from any of the 5 major players (US, UK, Russia, China, France) we will be roughly 46 hours away from total planetary annihilation. If Israel, India, Pakistan, or Iran launches at this point in time it’ll be a local issue and shouldn’t drag us into the fray unless whomever is controlling Biden’s marionette strings is really stupid, or a complete damnfool.
IMO only a person who’d use a stick of dynamite to kill a mosquito would believe nukes are a viable military resource to be taken and used lightly. The use of one tactical nuke anywhere in Eurasia will spawn the use of theatre nukes within about 42 hours. Once the cruise missiles begin to fly, their paths will be followed by ICBMs within 4-6 hours, and everyone who’s ever gamed “global thermonuclear war,” regardless the language they speak or the master they serve, knows this as a fact and wants no part of it…
from what one member of congress said on face the nation.. I believe they believe that the raw resources is reason enough to push the chance of a nuclear event.. to attempt to save the business model and revalue fiat currencies..
That one member of CONgress has no clue that Congress is 27.5 seconds away from being vaporized, if Russia were to ever choose to do so. The fools on the hill will never make it to the tunnels, let alone the shelter, before they flash out of existence.
Neither resources, nor fiat currencies will harbor any value or importance whatsoever, if a “nuclear event” occurs.
If you stand outside the lion’s den and whack him in the face with a stick, eventually he’s going to fight back. We’ve been treating Russians like 3rd class citizens since 1919. I can’t say they didn’t deserve it, but that ended when Gorby took Reagan’s advise. (Understand, too, that should we go the way of Venezuela, WE will deserve that same kind of scorn.)
They haven’t deserved the treatment in 30 years, yet we’ve still meted it out — essentially treating them the way BIA treated American Indians between 1890 and 1990. We haven’t made the Indian Nations whole, but we’ve replaced them at the bottom of Washington’s latrine, with generic “Russians,” and that ain’t right, either.
Putin is a strong man and a good leader FOR HIS COUNTRY (not ours, or anybody else’s, but that’s what a real leader does, and is.) He’s also very bright and is blessed with an abundance of common sense. If it were not so, the entire Earth above the 30°N parallel would be a cinder, right now. The scary thing to me is Biden, Harris, and whomever is pulling their strings, have none of those attributes, and is a coward as well.
Strong leaders don’t make war. They avoid a fight because they know that no one wins, and they negotiate disputes in a manner that allows everyone to win. This is Donald Trump’s secret, and the theme of “The Art of the Deal.”
Weak leaders make war. They are greedy, egotistical, petty, and tend to be bullies, cowards, and lacking in both foresight and imagination.
If Man delivers Armageddon unto us all, and in the near future, it will spawn in Washington, D.C., not Kiev, Teheran, Taipei, or Jerusalem…
