Convexity Reverses, Markets Pause – and How to Profit from Drought

For non Peoplenomics readers – and gentle civilians who don’t indulge in market cosplay – I will keep this fairly simple.

In our ChartPack Wednesday, I made a very useful remark.  The kind that burns like an ember in the brain overnight and results in leaping out of bed at 3 AM with the “brain on fire” – yet again.

Here’s what I wrote long before the Tuesday open:

“This may already be showing as slight convexity in the current state-var drive higher.  And so – intuitively – I would expect to remain in the long position until the top of the normal variance band and then somewhat beyond. “

This “convexity” stuff I referred to blew up a couple of hours into trading – but not before the NASDAQ put on nearly 300 points on the upside.  (298.19 points, but it’s only money, right?)

What happened – about mid-morning – was my “convexity” disappeared.  This messaged that something was going off the rails with the IXIC (*and thus the TQQQ).  I blew out of a tiny (Lunch Money Trading Account) position and didn’t look back.  My exit was at $49.38.  But, it wasn’t the peak.  TQQQ a short while later traded as high as $50,36.

Yet – and this is the point – in the overnight session, TQQQ was back down to $48.90 and we will see how the “winds of change” blow through markets today. The trick in markets isn’t trend-following. It’s seeing the shift just before everyone else does.

Here’s the Point:

My “play” in markets isn’t to make money. It’s to learn about the world and how it operates.  And here is just a glimpse at what’s in a new paper that will be in next Wednesday’s Peoplenomics report:

“The trader’s so-called “gut” may be subconscious exponent-shift detection operating on a specific time base. Experienced participants internalize curvature. They sense when acceleration decay no longer matches the expected dv/dt regime. This is not mysticism. It may be embodied second-derivative recognition formed through repeated exposure to structural price behavior.

Time base is critical. An exponent shift detectable on an hourly basis may still appear stable on a multi-day chart. Conversely, a macro-level exponent rollover may be invisible intraday. Misalignment between trading time base and exponent detection time base explains why exits often miss exact highs yet remain structurally correct.

Returning to the formal model, the trader operates within a horizon where ? is small and ? dominates. The objective becomes identifying when ? begins to increase—when endogenous decay accelerates. By contrast, macro investors must account for both ? and ?, recognizing that shock arrival probability may dominate at longer horizons.”

Yes, there’s math in it. But it’s also “street readable and damn interesting.  But I wanted to lay out for subscribers today that state-variance extreme trading is producing useful (spendable) research reports. Even if it’s only a bag full of Mickey D’s.

Or — since it’s birthday week — maybe something a little better. I’m flying in fresh seafood from Alaska for tonight. Turns out it’s a lot cheaper to FedEx it in than make a seafood run to Seattle. Way cheaper than one night in a hotel. Even before the bar tab.

Convexity. Buys dinner and drinks.

Turns out breaking volatility into ? + ? — separating internal decay from shock arrival — isn’t just mathy fun. It mathematizes well. And when something mathematizes cleanly, you can work it. Hard-earned bonus. And the brain’s no longer on fire.

[A note for literary critics: “Mathematizes” is in the OED.  (verb): To express or treat mathematically; to reduce to mathematical form; to apply mathematical methods to. So: country ? dumb, slicker.]

Thursday News-Coaster Ride

Fasten your platens and buckle up Bucko.  We got data to throw and headlines to ride.

Here: Have some Trade Figures:

December exports were $287.3 billion, $5.0 billion less than November exports. December imports were $357.6 billion, $12.3 billion more than November imports.
The December increase in the goods and services deficit reflected an increase in the goods deficit of $15.7 billion to $99.3 billion and a decrease in the services surplus of $1.6 billion to $29.0 billion.

Now, about about a Philly cheesy report?

“The diffusion index for current general activity increased 4 points to 16.3 in February, its second consecutive increase and highest reading since September (see Chart 1). Thirty-one percent of the firms reported increases in activity, 15 percent reported decreases, and 49 percent reported no change. The new orders index moved down from 14.4 to 11.7, just above its long-run average. The shipments index fell 9 points to 0.3, more than offsetting its increase from last month.”

And maybe with a UI filings finish?

Now with can get into the hype and stance. Inquiring minds edition:

Must not have mail-in voting? Bangladesh Nationalist Party Wins Big in First Election Since 2024 Uprising/

[PAUSE – REWIND!} Hey, California — read that Bangladesh story again. Governor Newsom might take a look at how Bangladesh runs elections. In Bangladesh, you must be a citizen, registered on a national electoral roll tied to a biometric ID, and most voters cast ballots in person under a centralized system. California, by contrast, automatically mails ballots to every registered voter and relies heavily on signature verification across a decentralized, county-run structure. Both require citizenship to vote in national elections — but one system leans toward in-person identity confirmation, while the other leans toward universal mail distribution and post-hoc verification. Different design philosophies. Different risk tradeoffs.  Structure = outcome.

Around the Ranch: Investing in Drought 101

Folks, if there’s one thing the Ure clan knows cold, it’s that “domain awareness” ain’t just buzzword bingo—it’s the secret sauce for flipping lemons into lemonade stands. Where the herd panics at change, we pivot with insight and flexibility, emerging victorious every darn time. Case in point:

This week’s NOAA Climate Prediction Center outlook for Texas had me grimacing just a smidge. Warmer than average? Check. A lot less moisture? Double check—like those dusty early ’50s years when life was simpler, grittier, and folks adapted or ate dirt.

But here’s the kicker: Drought isn’t doom; it’s a doorway to opportunity recognition. With rainfall tanking in the South by West, humidity could dip to an average 40% come summer scorchers. That got my gears turning on cooling our spread. Sure, we run A/C for the main house, but for the 2,200 sf play shop/maker space and 400 sf greenroom off the music studio? Time to rock evaporative (swamp) coolers. Has George lost his marbles in the heat? Nah—let’s run the numbers, silicon-style, and see why this “investment in drought” could slash bills while keeping things chill.

First, grasp why swamp coolers thrive in dry air.

A warmish – but wet – summer here and swamp coolers are minimally effective.  Except outdoors with a cool drink, of course…

Unlike A/C, which compresses refrigerant to yank heat and moisture out (energy hog alert), swamp coolers evaporate water over pads, cooling incoming air naturally. Efficiency hinges on humidity: The drier the air, the bigger the temp drop.

Key math here is the wet-bulb temperature—the lowest temp evaporation can achieve.

For a toasty 95°F dry-bulb day at 40% relative humidity (RH), we calculate wet-bulb (Tw) using the Stull formula (accurate for 5-99% RH and -20°C to 50°C temps). Convert 95°F to Celsius (T = (95-32)×5/9 = 35°C), plug in:

Crunching: Tw ? 24.5°C (or 76.1°F).

A good swamp cooler hits 80-90% efficiency, so indoor temps could drop to 78-80°F—plenty comfy for a shop without turning it into a sauna.  (A college engineering length paper of Boe-Shield T-9 and other shop tool rust inhibitors you’ll use more of is available for extra charge…)

In higher humidity (say, our usual 60-70% East Texas mugginess), wet-bulb jumps to ~84°F, rendering swamp coolers meh. Ok in the greenhouse, but still meh… Hell on Romaine, good on super-hot varieties of peps and toms.

But in low humidity drought? It flips this old script, making swamp coolers viable winners.

Now, the wallet math—because survival’s about stacking green, not just staying cool.

For a 2,600 sf space, typical central A/C (3-5 ton unit) guzzles 850 kWh/month in summer (based on 9 hours/day runtime at 3-5 kW draw). A comparable whole-house swamp cooler? Just 250 kWh/month (0.9-1.5 kW draw).

That’s 70% less energy, aligning with industry stats of 60-80% savings. Texas electricity averages 15¢/kWh in 2026. Over a 30-day month:

  • A/C cost: 850 kWh × 0.15 = $127.50
  • Swamp cost: 250 kWh × 0.15 = $37.50
  • Monthly savings: $90 (or $450 over a 5-month summer)
  • OK, that’s a bit misleading (because we designed and installed our own 9 kW of solar grid-interactive) which begs the question: why burn power you can sell back to the grid?

To arrive at these: Estimate runtime (9 hours/day × 30 = 270 hours). A/C power ? 850 / 270 ? 3.15 kW. Swamp ? 250 / 270 ? 0.93 kW. Scale for your setup if needed, but the ratio holds.

Upfront? Swamp units run $1,750-$3,500 installed for large spaces, vs. $5,000-$12,000 for A/C. DIY and plug in a garden hose on a 25 PSI pressure reducer. $200 and change.

Payback? Under two months DIY or a couple of years for check-slingers. DIY rocks on energy savings alone, plus drought-proofing your ops.

Drawbacks? They add humidity indoors (fine in dry spells) and need water (20-50 gallons/day—ironic in drought, but recycled graywater through a sand filter).

Maintenance: Clean pads yearly, no freon fuss.

Bottom line: Drought’s a disruptor, but domain flex turns it into profit. Swapping a portion of drier A/C for swamping outbuildings, and a greenhouse or two, pocket the savings, and invest ’em in water catchment or (still more) solar— taking a Ure-style victory lap in the process.

While the masses fret over dusty forecasts, we’re engineering comfort from chaos.

Stay adaptive, cowpoke.  And don’t underestimate the power of a stealthy old man in the woods who “wrote the book” on how to profit with a little (or more) AI help.  But 3,100 CFM with a hose hookup for under $200?  Yep – on the way. We already have two.

Yes, it’s not as dry as a/c but the summer uniform out here is khaki pants and a Columbia white fishing shirt…We’ll take the cheaper cooling and another beer, thanks.

Write when you get rich (and your own damn Mind Amplifiers),  The dusty trail to Downsizing runs through here…

PS: Maybe the “brain on fire” isn’t completely out. There’s still an ember glowing — something about a cascade of conditional exponent regimes.
Oh yeah. That would be the time machine project.
Looking at the future just before it stabilizes into the present. Maybe I better just go back to bed. And dream ofs discovering the Unified Field Theory in a deer stand…

  1. Ex-Prince Andrew taken into custody by UK police!

    Who’s Next?

Who’s Next is the fifth studio album by the English rock band the Who, released on 2 August 1971, by Track Records in the United Kingdom and by Decca Records in the United States.

    • The prince went in for sharing secrets and not poking underage girls. The poking of underage girls seems to be OK with some folks. You know Who they are.

        • Correct, but he shared State secrets with Jeffy, which is why he got busted. Bangin’ little girls in this context is no big deal. Hell 12yos were legal in Britain until Andrew was in his 30s. ‘No tellin’ what interesting kinks the lad got into (unless, of course, Epstein is “posthumously” telling… ;-)

Interesting, the way Brit Law is structured…

By being popped for something the Brits delightfully call “suspicion of misconduct in public office” (a charge we call “espionage”), there’s a fair possibility Andrew will take down both the Starmer government AND the monarchy (at least King Charles’ reign.) McSweeney, Allan, Mandelson, and now Andrew Mountbatten — The headlines keep leading somehow from Epstein to 10 Downing…

      • The British don’t seem to care about sexual deviants … note Jimmy Savile with his long running program on the BBC, long time friendship with the Queen, long time friendship with Prince, now King, Charles, and his Knighthood, where everybody KNEW about his sexual deviancy all along … and didn’t care … and of course of note Lord Mountebatton’s well known sexual deviancy (uncle to the Queen’s husband as well as a second cousin) and very good friend of Prince Charles, and of course Prime Minister Edward Heath’s well sexual deviancy (yep even while Prime Minister).

Nope, it wasn’t Andrew’s sexual issues that gave him problems, those seems to be common among the British upper crust many of whom have all sorts of sexual deviancy or infidelity going on, but his passing of state secrets to Epstein which was against the law.

        • what the heck – no Reply option to Ray’s post (I wonder why?) so commenting here:

“Hell 12yos were legal in Britain until Andrew was in his 30s.”
          WRONG

“The first age of consent was set in England in 1275 at the age of 12, and it has since been raised and debated numerous times. The age of consent for girls was raised to 13 in 1875 and then to 16 in 1885, where it remains today.”

Piss-ants the lot of you………..jabbering away at the Brits while you sit here cheering on the decadence in your own country

        • OK fact chgeck the fact check time: Here’s the breakdown:

          1275 – Age 12

In 1275, the Statute of Westminster I made it a felony to have sexual intercourse with a girl under age 12.

However, this was not framed as an “age of consent” in the modern sense. It was a rape statute protecting “maidens within age.” So saying “the first age of consent was set in 1275 at 12” is broadly accurate, but historically it was a criminal protection threshold, not a modern consent doctrine.

          1875 – Raised to 13

          Correct.
The Offences Against the Person Act 1875 raised the age from 12 to 13.

          1885 – Raised to 16

          Correct.
The Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 raised the age of consent to 16, following public campaigns about child exploitation (notably W.T. Stead’s journalism).

          Today

          Correct.
The age of consent in England and Wales remains 16 today.

        • England in general, and London in particular, had a huge problem with 12-14yo prostitutes, throughout the 1960s and 70s. If I was wrong about enforced AoC I apologize.

I assumed the girls were legal, or instead of being popped for hooking, their johns would’ve been thrown in the dock for child molesting…

        • “what the heck – no Reply option to Ray’s post (I wonder why?)”

Some of us understand how to use the interface. You have my sympathy.

No one here is “cheering on the decadence in your own country.” We are picking the low-hanging fruit in England while waiting for divers moneyed &or powerful shitheads in the U.S. to have their turn in front of a figurative (or possibly actual) firing squad.

I, for one, am quite fond of the Land of the Angles and am hoping the Epstein scandals bring down the Government and the Monarchy before the communists and idiots currently running the show completely destroy the United Kingdom.

  2. Good morning George. Nice article.

Just checked in over at your site https://houradaygardening.com/welcome-start-here/ to catch up.

I think that a link on Unban Survival would be nice for all of the gardeners that are also Peoplenonics subscribers.

On gardens I would also add Nut Trees for protein and heart healthy eating. I, being over 80, have bought the largest I could afford so I can indulge before I set off to the Great Hunting Ground. Just received some more trees yesterday and they are the best quality that I have received. So, this year we will harvest some fruit and nuts.

Cheers and off to play in the dirt.

  3. The House on Haunted Hill (1959): The Vat of Acid scene…

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Msuv43TVazU&pp=ygUgaG91c2Ugb24gaGF1bnRlZCBoaWxsIGFjaWQgc2NlbmU%3D

G.A. STEWART: Now let us come to cannibalism and Jeffrey Epstein’s need for 330-gallons of sulfuric acid. I have worked with hundreds and hundreds of gallons of sulfuric acid.

I have worked with sulfuric acid on an industrial level. That is a lot of sulfuric acid. Television and movie murder mysteries have trained people to equate sulfuric acid with the disposing of bodies. I am sure that everybody who read about Epstein’s purchase immediately had those scenes flash before their mind’s eye.

For five-years, I worked on a jet engine test stand that did development testing on the engines for the SR-71 spy plane. In that testing, we used a 10,000-gallon self-contained demineralized water system to cool the ducting involved in high-altitude testing. Every few months, we had to use sulfuric acid and a caustic to clean the elements of the two filter systems that were part of the plumbing network that turned potable water into demineralized water.

To transfer the sulfuric acid and caustic, we used small electric hand pumps that we inserted into the 55-gallon carboys. We had a stock of about a half-dozen carboys of each; I hated moving them onto the demineralized water pad. They were very heavy, awkward, and dangerous to man-handle with just a hand-truck and too-much concrete curb to climb over.

On one occasion, the engineers had chosen an incompatible pump hose for the sulfuric acid. We had to stick one pipe-end into a carboy, and then transfer under pressure the sulfuric acid and caustic into the appropriate filter housing. I was never happy with the setup, and we always wore protective equipment. I would make sure to stand 30-feet back when my lead started the pumping, and on that one occasion I was glad I did.

After pumping for a few minutes, the incompatible pump hose line broke, and in a strange slow-motion moment, I watched a stream of sulfuric acid spray out 30-feet and slam right into my face. It splashed up and under my face shield and then started burning my neck and chin. The acid that got underneath my rubber protective safety suit began melting my clothes.

Oblivious to the burns on my neck and chin, I was trying to measure the personal damage when my lead rushed over and dragged me into a safety-shower on the pad. I came out of the ordeal with some minor burns and the loss of my clothing and boots. Luckily, I was not blinded or severely injured.

What is the moral of my story? What I offer here is my own personal, empirical experience. Testing that jet engine 16-hours per day, on a very large industrial scale, it would take us over a year to consume the same amount of sulfuric acid.

Why on earth would Jeffrey Epstein need 330-gallons of sulfuric acid? It had to be murder on an industrial scale.

      • Sulfuric acid (or preferably aqua regia) dissolves the whole problem, except teeth. Phosphoric acid (photographic acid or “rust converter”) dissolves teeth. Pestle & mortar disappears n/m fillings. Crucible and torch convert metallic fillings into ingots.

Did no one here ever read Agatha Christie…?

BTW rumor has it there are hundreds of infant-to-preteen bodies buried at Zorro Ranch. Where did Epstein have those six drums of sulfuric acid sent? Did they all go to the island?

    • nothing new here…there was a lot of investigations..that all were deleted..
it totally depends on who is involved….if it was you or me we would be made an example of..

  4. After years of busting our asses in the cattle and produce business we moved to a very successful, to us anyway, direct to client model. The only problem for us is every time we even think about exiting the cattle side of the operation our phone and emails from clients go nuts. Am I complaining? No way. That being said I am not moving as quickly as when I was younger even though my love tells me I am still adorable, so I decided to hire some help this season in the greenhouses. I checked with a couple FFA chapters until grand daughter #3 called me up asking if she could have an interview. She runs her own small greenhouse raising fodder and greens for her chicken business. She even emailed me a copy of her employment application to work at the local pool in the snack bar she filled out last week. One of the questions busted both Diana and I up.

Question; How would your teachers describe you?
Answer: Well, I am homeschooled so my teacher is my mom and I’m sure she would describe me as delightful.

I suspect there will be a competition over hourly wages but I can be assured we will come out on top.

    Stay safe. 73

    • Jim in MO : a great story. I would be lost without helper(s) so think it wise. We get nearly twice as much done with me staging tools and doing decision making while he builds _X_ or fixes _Y_ so a great trade. Possibly the young lady’s Mom would like to put in a few hours too? Bet she’s delightful.

I don’t believe it’s against TOU here (urbansurvival or peoplenomics) to drop a link to your direct to consumer offerings. I usually buy beef from local guys but?

When paying the boy-sitter fees in addition to walking the delightful young ladies home, I’d always tell them we thought pay was fair but asked she not let anyone outbid us. Happy partnerships.

      • Actually our client list has shrunk considerably. Last fall I lost a wrestling match between a squeeze chute and a 2 year old steer that buggered up a shoulder and cracked some ribs. So what we have on the hoof now will be gone at the end of April save a couple pairs for personal use. Currently the tunnels are growing herbs and greens. Plans for supplying garden plants to a supplier are on hold until I get healed up a little so next spring…..maybe. I am still in the dog house with Diana over cow punching last fall. My granddaughter is just turning 14 and has aspirations to farm. She will be going to high school next fall enough hours to qualify to play volleyball, basketball and cheerleading. She has run a successful chicken and egg business for a couple years with her fodder set up in a small tunnel we put together from spare parts on their farm. She is setting up to raise some turkeys for direct sale this fall. Her mom and dad are both ER RN’s so time for them is hard to schedule. All 10 of my grand kids are about as busy and we are very happy for them,

      • “I don’t believe it’s against TOU here (urbansurvival or peoplenomics)…”

No, but it’d have to pass by the dragon at the gate.

‘Course, I believe George is that dragon, and he do like him some beef, so…

  5. What’s really happening to the weather is being and has been and continues to be covered up and or dis-info’d is the pole shift, they can’t afford the public to panic before it happens, but according to a large group of scientists with varied fields about 15 years ago and then the findings have since disappeared and the study was worldwide about 5 years in the making, we are about 10,000 years OVERDUE for a real pole shift. I could go on and on about how they are covering up evidence in many ways but I bet your aware of this.
Enjoy your swamp cooler I live where they work most of the time and we like it way better than refrig air for many reason’s

    • I have given everyone the keys to the Kingdom but apparently no one wants to open the door. The Ethical Skeptic and his ECDO theory on X – there have been multiple pole shifts and monuments were built to warn future generations – they all point to the original North Pole – in Africa. Do yourselves a favor and at least read this guy and make up your own minds.

      • And for some interesting visuals, check out ‘SpaceWeatherNews’ over on YT. He has some nice animations & graphics about how things might occur.

Don’t have any doubt its gonna happen… and the signs just keep getting stronger.

        Good Luck to us All

  6. We upgraded our old air conditioner- 1990ish with a heat pump in 2024, it cost about $10,000. We kept our natural gas furnace and mostly run gas furnace during winter, just use the heat pump for cooling. Our usage went down 2,618 kWH and it cools a lot better than the old energy guzzler that could keep up. The power company came out and installed a new meter after that 1st summer with heat pump.

  7. George,
From the 20 Nov 2025 daily low on the ACWI world index, a 19/42 of 48 day :: x/2.5x 1st and 2nd fractal series is observable … The 48 day 2nd fractal is composed of two subseries: a 4/10/10 day :: x/2.5x/2.5x 3-phase series and a 27 day 4-phase series: 4/10/10/1 of 6 day :: x/2.5x/2.5x/1.5x. The next 5 trading days represent (19/48 day :: x/2.5x) 2-2.5x window of 2nd fractal nonlinearity. (Sharply trending lower valuations with an expected nonlinear daily lower low near the terminus.) This is occurring the near terminal portion of a 27 Oct 2023 120/243/243-282 y/2y/2-2.5y’ decay series and a 7 April 2025 53/107/107-133 day :: y’/2y’/2-2.5y’ decay series.

After today’s trading, there will be 5 trading days of sharply lower trending valuations for equities, crypto, and gold. DJT, the president’s media and fusion equity powerhouse … hit a recent low of 9.90 with only four trading days lower in Sept and Oct of 2021 in its trading history. The next 6 trading days will see a new all-time nadir valuation … correlating to #45-47’s trending national popularity.

    • Your experiences in Belize and with the orchid elixir are definitely engaging, and I can see how Big Momma’s rule about 78°F resonates. That’s a solid call for keeping comfort levels high and energy output consistent — I love how you’re thinking about temperature and efficiency.

But, I’d like to address a small point about swamp coolers that might’ve been a bit overlooked: Relative Humidity (RH) plays a massive role in how effectively swamp coolers operate. While 80°F might sound like a reasonable work temperature, the key variable here is the amount of moisture in the air. Swamp coolers work by evaporating water to cool the air, and the drier the air, the more effective they are.

In high-humidity areas (like we see in places like Texas or Belize), swamp coolers will lose their efficiency. At 50-60% RH, you’ll still see some cooling, but when you hit 70% RH and above, those coolers start becoming pretty much useless. Why? Because there’s too much moisture in the air already for evaporation to occur efficiently.

So, what you’re describing as “85-degree heat” with some efficiency is exactly what happens in more humid climates — it’s effective but not as much as when RH is lower. This is why I’ve been emphasizing dry air for swamp coolers to perform at their best. If the RH stays low (like it tends to in a drought, or desert environments), the swamp cooler can drop indoor temps by 20°F or more. That’s the magic formula.

As for your orchid elixir, that’s brilliant! I can practically picture the whole operation with the cotton balls and your success. It’s almost like you’re growing time itself with that formula.

In any case, as long as Big Momma’s happy, that’s what really matters. Thanks again for the fun read, and keep sharing those creative insights!

The the “trute” about swamp coolers is there will be lines around the block in hot places for ’em (hooked on Phonix fer ‘zample) but can give ’em away in soggy tampa
      stay chille ios frosty’s tough…

      • A note about the effectiveness of evaporative cooling. It depends not only on Relative Humidity,
but also on the temperature difference. The air cooling effect you have down and covered well.
But when the temperature gets higher, how can you extend the effectiveness?
        DON’T COOL AIR!
You will still cool by spraying water into the air, but what you cool and at what temperature also matters.
The reason the house, green or otherwise, gets hot is heat transfer through the surfaces. This is split about 75-80% through the roof and the rest through the walls. The heat transfer is in during warmer weather and out in the colder temperatures. The mechanism for this heat transfer is dependent on Temperature Difference and becomes much less as TD goes to 0.
While the temperature outside may be 70F to 90F for heat transfer through the surface to occur the surface must be higher than the ambient temp.
This is to your advantage when the temp and RH get too high for a swamp cooler to effectively cool air.
Nozzles mounted on the roof surface to spray water into the air above the roof deck, operated by a valve actuated by a roof temperature sensor (mounted on the underside of shingles or a metal roof) will cool the air above the roof deck when the sensor reads 130F to 140F, dropping the roof temp down to the 80F to 90F ambient and cancelling any heat transfer through the roof deck. The roof sprays are not directed on the roof deck but into the air above the roof. The air temp is also dropped but the effect is concentrated on the roof deck due to the temperature difference (TD, remember?).
This works better than is sounds. but do the math. If 80% of the load on your AC unit is wiped out, how many dollars is that and how much more effective will it be when it is now manly a dehumidifier?
Sorry I haven’t resubscribed. Not that your writing isn’t valuable and entertaining but we have done two moves this last year on top of my beautiful other’s celebrating 5y (colon) cancer free by having a triple bypass. The move resulted in a fight with PayPal that forced our parting. I don’t mind paying for for stuff I didn’t order but won’t pay for stuff I did not receive. • Secret of the Dark Stars….

      Kadistu/Planners

Made up of the most elite, advanced, intellectual powerhouses from the largest Families in MilkyWay Galaxy. Individuals would be considered QiGONG Masters , they could/Can manipulate the Original Source, The Light. In fact they referred to themselves as “The Sons of Light In Service of the Source.

Said they built/constructed/created 11 Interactive Libraries/Planets around the Galaxy. Further it goes on to say that all 11 were/are? on Quarantine, Locked Down(Star Gates DeActivated) around the time of the “fallen” found themselves stranded here.
Kadistu were like Quakers – No Violence, No Wars, No Fighting. Like the Quakers they enlisted others for this work – The Felids..aka the Urmmah.

When Dick Algire RMed the Phoenix Lights – he spoke with/interviewed briefly one of them. Farsight described one as fierce countenance with big head of flowing Hair..like a mane.
Anyhow – they are the ones who dug/built out the Giza Plateau – miles and miles deep – long before the fallen fell here, lake on level 4. They left the Priestesses (planners) and Lord Enki/Ptah/Osiris 2 Ships. A big Blue liner like ship Osiris was said to favor, he wouldnt touch the other one, a war bird. Which of course the Son of God/Enki -Horace/Heru only flew in the War bird..known during the time when the “gods” walked the Earth as The Hammering Falcon. This is why he is always depicted as a Falcon God. When in reality he is true OG Son of God/Creator.

      Stranger than Fiction, no?

  9. Soft costs and a “concoction” that speeds up Time(guaranteed), or shortens duration.

    First things first Swampy,
Ure missing soft costs on the swamp cooler according to Ure provided stats start impacting Work Efficiency at the 78 degree mark on the thermometer. Lets not try and snow the snowman again, not much is getting done in 80 degree weather, work wise. If any work is being done in those temps, it is slo-mo at best.
Amazeballs construction workers down here in Belize – these guys work 10 on and 4 off, year round. 85 degree heat no problem, with nary a cloud in da sky, but the pace of work/job is considerably slower than US standards
Personally in our old age (63) we crank the mini splits on at 78.

Because as everyone knows, Big Momma aint a happy camper at anything over 78. And if Big Momma aint happy, aint nobody happy gonna be happy till she gets her grove back. Here to tell ya the grove aint comin back in 80 degree weather. Now later on in the evening, when Sun has gone down, and temps are with in the mid-upper 70’s..a free Summer evening concert, under lights and stars, Sundress, cool drinks and a pre concert fattyboblatty – my slice of heaven, thin crust. I would tell ya about a my Neopolitan slice of Heaven, but this is G-Dog rated so…so solly.

Its about Time. I know I should have shared this recipe a long time ago, but I was remiss – oh well tough titties! Here it is now, The Speed Up Time Orchid Food Recipe. The simple act of Aging Speeds up Ure perception of Time, but this is actual Food for consumption…like amazeballz food Orchids.

The Scene; Placencia Lagoon, backabush at Naia Residences (thehousethatBTCbuilt) where our intrepid Gardener, TBS applies his magically elixr to all kinds and types of Orchids. Said Orchids have been collected from all over Belize and Guatamala. Moon Orchids, Woody Orchids, Clamshells..you name it, TBS prolly has it growing off a tree or outta a Coconut shell mouted to side of trees. We have 4-5 fully “manicured” copse full of Orchids, beach spider plants, and several other flowering air plants.

These Orchids are in turn the fav food for the nasty, drop on sight, green iquanas. * Yes been restricted by Mgt to only killing iguanas On my property. They werent too happy when I dropped a big orange one in front of a boat full of tourists from across the lagoon, dropped right outta an oak tree splashing into water. – Whoops.

Anywhos you apply with cotton balls and a big pair of hemostats, or what ever you want to use to hold the cotton ball while you apply the magic elixer.
    Recipe:
Half an Onion – big strong Onion..chop that puppy up and toss in the hot water, bring to boil and then turn off and let steep for 10 minutes. While Steeping Ure Onions, grab about a 1 Cup White Rice and put in medium container. You are going to pour the cooled Onion water full of some hard working enzymes into container with the white Rice. The starch from the white rice is Instant Protein./Growth Food for the Orchids. The Onion enzymes act as a Carrier to drive starch/food into the plants.
I guarantee you Ure Orchids will BLOOM within a Month of application. Or you can leave a soaked in Onion food juice piece of cotton ball tween a Leaf juntcion and stem – this promote and produce a new Shoot from which Blossoms will appear. Yes you can level this magic up one level with Citrus juice instead pf Onion. Youse be on Ure own with the Citrus, as I have no experience with that….yet.

    • Hi, George,

An important aspect of cooling a home besides having a swamp cooler or an air conditioner is a light colored metal roof. The color of a metal roof makes a significant difference in how it cools the house. I used to have a blue colored metal roof that kept the house too warm in the summer. I had used a hose to spray water on the roof to cool it down. Later, I had the blue colored metal roof replaced with a white colored metal roof during a house addition construction project. So, a darker colored metal roof, like a blue, red, or brown, will absorb heat, while a light colored metal roof, like white or beige, will deflect the heat.

  11. Anyone paying attention to the Colin Gray trial over the the Big LeGuthrieski kidnapping?

Basically Colin gave his kid a gun and the kid took it to school.

Holding parents responsible for school shooters started in Michigan with 10 year sentences. Now sentences are creeping up to 180 years.

“The first parents convicted in a U.S. mass school shooting were sentenced to at least 10 years in prison Tuesday as a Michigan judge lamented missed opportunities that could have prevented their teenage son from possessing a gun and killing four students in 2021.”

“Colin Gray, the father of Apalachee High School shooting suspect Colt Gray, is currently on trial in Georgia and faces up to 180 years in prison if convicted on all 29 felony counts, including second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and child cruelty.”

An active shift is taking place.

  12. Without a moments hesitation I have always “questioned” trying to match yesterdays’ financials from 1929 with todays’ financials of 2026.

It does not add-up. Valuation, velocity, mechanics, adaptability, generalized acceptance & population involvement., plus the power of the U.S. Treasury and the warclub of the Federal Reserve., not to mention the current bond market that didn’t exist in this form – way back when. And the 600 pound gorilla lurking in the back room – the algorithm super computers with A.I. sneaking in. Along with the massive global influence and mathematical interference.

There is very little relationship between these two time periods.

It may be fun to speculate, take a peek at someone’s chart – but I will let someone else spend their time doing it. For me., my opinion., it’s a waste of time to try and build a predictive model between the two. [ Don’t forget to factor in inflation and loss of purchasing-power.]

  13. Andrew – formally known as ‘The Prince’., was arrested on suspicion of sending Epstein national, confidential trade information/reports back in 2010. It really doesn’t matter all that much ‘what’ he was arrested for – the fact that the Monarch’s brother has been arrested has no precedents in modern times.

Which gets me to wonder how / if this development ties in with Stu’s work. – JC is there any linkage ?

      • There is a post at the age of Desolation site, Welcome To The New Feudalism, but it is still password protected, there is a photo of the Queen and a smiling Prince Andrew in the back of a limousine…

    • Virginia Giuffre reveals Epstein trafficked her to former prince Andrew in an interview with Savannah Guthrie.

after the interview Virginia is hit by a bus then “commits suicide.”

      The Epstine files are released.

Then Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy, gets kidnapped and is still being held for ransom.

And today, former prince Andrew was arrested.

nothing to see here. its all just a series of coincedence.

Eleanor reports a fire burning in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

“From 1914 to 1918, Britain and its allies were at war with the Central Powers, led by the German Empire. To appease British nationalist sentiment, in 1917 King George V issued a royal proclamation changing the name of the British royal house from the German House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the House of Windsor. The King’s British relatives with German names and titles followed suit…. the surname Mountbatten is an anglicisation of Battenberg.”

      • You forgot Savannah’s connection to the Clintons and Al Gore.

“Savannah Guthrie’s connection to Bill Clinton and Al Gore comes through her husband, Michael Feldman, a Democratic political consultant who worked for both in the 1990s and 2000s. Following his time in the White House, Feldman co-founded the Glover Park Group, a Washington-based public affairs firm, with Carter Eskew, Joe Lockhart and Chip Smith (all members of Clinton’s or Gore’s White House staff. Bill Clinton and Al Gore were “uncredited” co-founders.)

I am convinced Nancy was not kidnapped for ransom. If she is still alive (which I doubt), it would only be because Michael and Savannah are worth several times a 9-digit bank account. “Ransom” could not have been a motivation, or she’d have been released two weeks ago. Note, the “reward” has been bumped again, but contains not one cent of Michael or Savannah’s money…

  14. I have always thought and have built my theoretical models on the premise that the financial markets ‘work’ on two distinct times. ., and lately [ four, or five years] possibly, even a third variance of time. It just seems obvious to me. And it does answer a few ‘puzzlements’ – questions. [ Stop looking for the answer and start looking for the right question. ]

Five years ago I built a chart using the valuation of the top five stock markets and subsequently – largest trading partners – of the E.U. I entered them onto the chart with a two day average., then overlaid that 2 day M.A. with a 35 day and an 85 day M.A. – with a 200 day ‘over-all-picture’ M.A. Then, once that was complete I overlaid all of these onto an S&P500 chart. [The S&P500 valuation is worth five times that of all top five stock markets in the E.U. combined. Including a few other !]
I have used this chart for the past four years as part of my trading platform. It had been very “insightful”. Currently changing this over to my “Carnac The Magnificent” aggregate charting.., this will give me much better ‘view’ – even with the volatile tech driven NASDAQ., it’s just that “The Mrs” doesn’t afford me the block-off hours of research anymore.

I did not know the G.U. was doing this., but two years ago I started measuring the velocity between the highs and lows of the combined “E.U. Five” with that of the S&P500’s highs and lows. Just how long does it take for a stock market to reach a new high, after hitting a new low? How much time does it take for a stock market to reach a new high, surpassing the most recent new high? How much time does it take for the “E.U. Five” to reach a new high in comparison to the S&P500 reaching a new high ? or, visa versa? Is there any correlation between a new high velocity to a new low when a recession is factored in ? There have been quite a few on both sides of the Atlantic to use as a viable question
. [ Lots of time ‘questions’.] And is there a measurable time between ‘Carnac The Magnificent’ reaching a new high and the E.U Five aggregate reaching a new high., at what velocity.., etc?
    – Though interesting, I have yet to refine it and use it daily in my trading. I believe I may have too many questions involved and it is smudging., shading any viable answers. [ Look for the right question., damn it ! ] I do believe that somewhere in this mathematical mess is a good predictive answer -an indicator. – but lately I have not had the time to filter it.

Note 1: I do not go back to the beginning of time to collect my market data for my math models, or predictive-charting. I start at January 1st 1970. This is two years before Nixon ended our gold backed currency.
[ Under duress.] There are a few reasons for doing this and so far [ 12-13 years.] it has worked very well.

Note 2: My trusty T.I. Scientific using one of my math models put the data-date near the end of the second week of March. Barring any global catastrophic interference that will fudge the current numbers. The bond market is where we will see the first signs. [., and noise from ‘The Fed’.] This is not ‘advice’.., just a future ‘notation’ – which can change with the push of a button.

A lot of math yet to do., on several other ideas and questions. The predictive and theoretical math is the easy part – it’s coming up with the right question to make it all jell – that’s the sand in the Vaseline part.

January 5th to date -my ‘Cheeseburger Account’ is up 68.8%. All on Options and 4 to 1 with puts. [ I seem to do much better with ‘Puts’ than I do with ‘Calls’.]

    “Stay Frosty !”

    • At a childish 11.9 my ytd pales, but I shy away from knife, gun, and option fights. That years back Lexus gone in an afternoon was enough on options. Older buttweiser? Which doc holiday lived closer – dueling spreadsheets and long-tail trading models is the stuff of the couch years…

    • Yo Eleanor,

Never guess who owns the the Green Parrot Beach Bar in Maya Beach, where we play Singo every Wednesday night ? Yerp – its a Oakie Bar, owners are Oakies from Oklahoma City, as our best buds down here from Gutherie. Oakie bar means Cowboy fans, but they are cool with my Eagles green. Also one of the few folks I know down here who own their own Island/Caye. Unlike the Green Parrot Bar in Key West, which is most definitely an E A G L E S bar..Go Birds !

They even had Lord Ashcroft swing by island last week, he sent his 1st mate in to make introductions, then came ashore hisself. Real decent chap..Michael, dude has 12 crew members onboard his yatch..tres fancy. Then again got another buddy out here, no names, but he made his mark building out huge warehouse centers for the likes for AMZ and whatnot. Dude has totally unique problem solving skills..case in point he ended up purchasing several Blackhawk helicopters..for lifting and moving into place big Chiller units. Turns out this was cheaper than Renting?leasing out heavy lift copters.
This cats Catamaran is bigger, like way bigger than 4 stateroom commercial Catamarans at Tradewinds, our local neighbor. Yes he has built a Helo pad on top of a 3 story “landing tower” with drop down 3 stainless steel wire rope safety fencing around top of structure. Amazing Island compound, with several 40 ft containers connected together chock full of Tesla Batteries.
Think my Son, who visited Island with me 2 weeks ago, is still wondering how the old man keeps getting into these crazy situations. I have no explanations, except to say My Nose can smell FUN, it always nose the flavor of Fun, and leads to it almost everytime.

So next time your Gandmotherly fanny and smiling face are in Belize, check out the Green Parrot Beach Bar. Oakies Welcome, and you might even get meet an original Cogburn..of rodeo fame and family fun farm tourist attraction in Tuscon, AZ. Where they got the name for John Waynes character, Dudes dad is OG Rodeo clown who first strapped on mic and started entertaining the Peeps during the show.

    • The worst fires are largely contained now, but new ones keep popping up here and there. Fortunately, snow is forecast for Friday through Saturday in the area where the fires are occurring – not a huge amount, but it should put a damper on things. There’s still high fire danger further east.

so I go to bed and in the dream he had a key on his collar and learned how to turn the key..told the wife the dream and she started laughing g..he is already to smart for a dog.

  18. A rant..,

Since this whole inflation mess started, I have questioned “The Fed” being so adamant on a 2% inflation Goal/Target. Based on what? The past ?
We just had the largest trade deficit in 64 years – in January. How did they factor that in ? Consumers are racking up huge credit debt to survive the tariff wars. How do they ‘adjust’ for that? Credit to offset rising costs and inflationary pressures? That is certainly going to back-fire. Credit card interest rates alone says that is a real ‘No-No’ for future financial stabilization.
Playing with the interest rates and the bond markets is not the way to get it done. But what is? Is it the Red Pill, or the Blue Pill ?
Every time I have a great idea, work the numbers, figure out the blow-back and pitfalls – it just won’t work. Dumb idea.
Great idea to dumb idea – over and over.

But then., I am reminded that no one would listen to me anyway.., so why spend the time doing all of this !?

It is not going to affect me very much anyway. It has., and does and will hurt a lot of people., and when that pressure hits the turning point., when the society in general just gives up and massive protest rule the day – it is then., and only then that government will devise a way to stabilize the financials. Until blood runs in the streets., we are on our own, folks.

  21. re: “Are we running out of time?”
    feat: Owl woo woo

Around the corner from Sunset’s 7400 block at Gardner is mural-like signage featuring an old-fashioned manual typewriter beneath advice from a digital promotions company to “Tell stories that draw people in”. As chance would have it, the address corresponds with the first humble practice abode in March 1985 for a newly formed LA band called Guns N’ Roses. Shortly thereafter the group embarked on their Hell Tour to Seattle. DJ George may have some industry lore regarding that.

Across the Sunset Blvd. intersection is the former Gardner streetcar station site of Pacific Electric Railway’s Hollywood Line. The lot in recent years has housed a restaurant named after a railroad night conductor, Electric Owl. The most recent Google Maps photo dates to 5 months ago. Images capture a clock on the restaurant building side reading a time of 9:20 am.

Most of the streetcar line’s fleet came from the St. Louis Car Company. From 1928 to 1931, it’s subsidiary St. Louis Aircraft Corporation built a derivative of the model which inspired the separately manufactured “Spirit of Saint Louis”. Corporate remains of the latter manufacturer’s descendant, Teledyne, were purchased by Northrop Grumann in 1999. As an aside, Hollywood’s fictional T-800 Terminators and AI Skynet were constructs of Cyberdyne, not Teledyne.

Here’s esteemed publisher George with a few words yesterday about Sunset Blvd.:

  24. I am continuing to learn about how political blacklisting and criminal retaliation are accomplished in this country under the radar. NGO databases are used as weapons, and fighting digital political hate crimes is financially beyond the reach of ordinary individual citizens who are victimized. Most of this activity seems to be State enabled, if not outright State approved, or even State sponsored.

The land of the free isn’t.

My current assessment is that NGO’s have transformed this country into a coast to coast digital gulag that would make Joe Stalin envious, while most citizens are unaware of their digitally fenced serfdom. Trump may have punished the NGO’s, but the NGO’s still operate unabated and largely unregulated.
I also figure the NGO’s are where the AI’s will begin to start taking over white collar jobs in earnest. Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of personality disordered, pathological lying social justice vigilante criminal scum.

  25. NEW ?? FDA Commissioner Marty Makary announces he would like the FDA to make essentially all prescriptions “over the counter” and no longer require a prescription in America

“In my opinion, everything should be over the counter, not requiring a prescription, unless it’s unsafe, unless you need laboratory tests to monitor how it’s being received by your body, or if it could be used for some nefarious purpose, or it’s addictive.

If it doesn’t meet those criteria, why shouldn’t a drug be over the counter”
