Markets had a good day Wednesday, but we are becoming concerned (with DeepSeek and all the foam in A.I. space) that most of what is being passed off as “economic growth” is really just asset repricing due to systemic inflation.
In other words, Gold is up to the $2,900 levels, Silver is knocking on $33, and even BTC was back to the underside of $100,000 today.
With all this noise in the system, we are looking to fundamentals like the Job picture – federal numbers tomorrow – and we’ll see how things roll from there.

I count myself of a skeptic of Elon, just because of his history of fabrications and outright lies about products, features, and reality (Mars human habitation). Saying that, I certainly missed out on some amazing stock performance chances. However I certainly do see his ability to get amazing stuff done and to draw funding in to pay for it. Just look at a couple of things, the supercharger network, many vendors had electric cars, but Tesla had the vision of a recharging network. Re-usable rockets. We have rockets that could land for decades, but Elon through SpaceX drove that out of research and into production. He has some innate ability to surround himself with amazing people and to motivate them like few others in history.
I would rather see someone else with less baggage in the DOGE role. But he is what we have and I hope his team unravels and shut down all these programs that are not benefiting the american tax payers.

One reason(among many others) that I avoid any kind of American medical “care” to the best of my ability is that I don’t relish the idea of my comprehensive medical record being available to any doctor, hospital, researcher, bureaucrat or federale at will! HIPAA is not your friend! My medical records are in my head, and though Elon may have some tech to get at it, my medical history, strengths, and weakenesses are largely still private. It may be an ego thing, but I’ve learned to never underestimate what a bureaucrat can do with even a single bit of information!

Monday I had two items on my list of things to do on the computer. I have been working on trying to eliminate my electronic foot-print., which is seemingly impossible., but cutting it down to near nothingness is working out.., and both of these “computer items” were part of this pairing down.
I easily accomplished one item., and then was called away by “The Mrs” and subsequently forgot to do the second item. I remembered this morning – and was going to do it right after I checked my email. .., and low-n-behold – There was an email stating my annual automatic subscription payment to “Ure Enterprises Incorporated LLC / Stock symbol – GURE ” had just been made.., and right below was a reminder that my annual subscription was due.
I had forgotten that my annual payment was on an automatic schedule – with PayPal.., and closing my PayPal account [ which I never use anymore and haven’t in a couple of years] was the other “computer item” that I had forgot / but remembered I had forgot., and was about to close down., because I did finally remember – got all of that ?
So., my forgetfulness seemed to have been well timed – in this case anyway. That, or the Gods of “Fortuitous Mishaps” were on my side.
I will hang around here for another year – barring any acts of nature, nastiness-of-man or, internet collapse.., or, simply banned for life because I firmly believe that “Authentic” Texas chili is a waste of natural resources. All of which are in the “possibility” file.

However, the most life changing thing that’s worked for me(being an engineer you may appreciate the insight it provides and you’ll really learn about how your individual body reacts to inputs). I switched to a continuous glucose monitor (Dexcom G7). What did I learn? I learned that there were a whole host of foods causing inflammation, and the body responds to inflammation by raising your blood sugar.
For my genotype is not simpatico with wheat, or eggs if the chickens had wheat as an ingredient in their feed, same for cows milk.
An still eat eggs, free range organic no supplemented diet( $10 a dozen)
Start reading store labels, I’ve found wheat (and its derivative maltodextrin) are in about 80% of the items at the store.
Even some other processed foods without Wheat flour but with substitutes can also cause elevated sugar in my circumstance but are tolerated by sticking to a single serving size or less for a given item if I really crave it, but it’s simply been an elimination diet for me. The results 12 months on? Down over 100lbs, no longer type two. Chucked all diabetes meds and blood pressure meds working with my Doctor. And being the geek that I am, I get reading on my smart watch as well as my smart phone. It’s been a priceless change, and a holistically new approach to the problem, one that nails the root causes. I couldn’t recommend this lifestyle change any higher.

On Jan 23rd my “Carnac The Magnificent” made an all time high. Since then it has slowly declined by roughly 680 points.
