CFNAI, UI Filings, Anti-Aging Vindication

Before we dig in, a couple of “housekeeping notes.”

First is that the long-awaited adjustments to the (excessively hyped) job creation claims were dialed back a bit this week.

And any armchair economist can see, the official number of people employed in July was only 57,000 more than in the same period a year ago (the cell above the current month).

This is mighty bothersome to people who follow politics because (as always) people clamoring to get into Office (it’s where the real money is) have been lying through their teeth for the past year.

Even old-line media are being caught up in the reportorial fever to lie, mis-state, and mal-report: U.S. news giant admits to serious lie about Trump * WorldNetDaily.

The problem we have (with government lies and misdirection, think Covid as a non-economic example) is that people – real flesh & blood like you and me – make life decisions based on what we were told was “reliable” information.  Turns out, lies about vaccines, political positions, job creation, and the need to start a nuke war have all been part of the usurpation of once free American values. Corporate media free-for-all with democrats holding key woke directive issuance power.

Which – if we held to our old values-based ways – would put more than the odd miscreant like George Santos (Former congressman Santos pleads guilty, faces at least 2 years in prison followed by Judge tosses out George Santos’ Cameo lawsuit against Jimmy Kimmel ) behind bars.

We regret to inform that should Ms. Harris win, do not expect any “new broom sweeps clean.”  We think she’ll be too busy riding it.

Speaking of rituals:  Kamala’s Secret Masonic Police Scandal Gets Even Weirder (patrickreports.com) is an interesting read. Doesn’t sound like any self-respecting “blue Lodge” we know about, but Masonry’s secrets have worked against it sometimes, as non-Masons look for “cover ops” and ways to usurp undo respect…

Meanwhile RFK Jr. to speak Friday amid speculation he’ll drop presidential bid, support Trump | AP News.

Second Housing Point:  We got the Colorado fire outlook for August wrong.  There are “only” 19,000 acres burning there this morning., On the other hand, Washington state has nearly 125,000 acres raging. but that doesn’t compare with Oregon where more than a million acres is going up. We got the general outcome right, but not the geo-center of damage.

CFNAI

Chicago Fed national activity indicator doesn’t weigh as much as the Powell speech tomorrow morning at the Fed freebie conference up in Jackson Hole tomorrow.  Still, worth study:

“The Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) decreased to –0.34 in July from –0.09 in June. Two of the four broad categories of indicators used to construct the index decreased from June, and three categories made negative contributions(*) in July. The index’s three-month moving average, CFNAI-MA3, was unchanged at –0.06 in July

  • Production-related indicators contributed –0.28 to the CFNAI in July, down from –0.02 in June.
  • The sales, orders, and inventories category’s contribution to the CFNAI was –0.01 in July, up from –0.02 in June.
  • Employment-related indicators contributed –0.08 to the CFNAI in July, down from –0.02 in June.
  • The personal consumption and housing category’s contribution to the CFNAI was +0.03 in July, up from –0.02 in June.”

(*) Only idiots use the term “negative contribution.

Chicago Fed Advance Retail Trade Summary (CARTS officially, butt more correctly here C-FARTS) came out Wednesday:

In the fourth week of July, the Weekly Index of Retail Trade increased 0.4% on a seasonally adjusted basis after being unchanged in the previous week. For the month of July, retail & food services sales excluding motor vehicles & parts (ex. auto) are projected to increase 0.3% on a seasonally adjusted basis and to increase 0.2% when adjusted for inflation.

Not sure what to do with that arcana, other than “Don’t move to Chicago!”

New UI Figures Flat

See for Ureself:

Hard to make a case for lower rates in here and after the numbers today, when we looked, the CME Fed Watch tools was still 70-30 no change at the September 18th meeting.

And then we get around to the Scotch bet.  As of last night’s close, the Dow was 306 from an all-time high, the S&P was 46 and change off the top while the NASDDAQ had another 768 points of elevation to climb.

Another one of my secret indicators (which I guess isn’t so secret anymore?) is looking at Bitcoin which is in the $61,400 area early.  Since its all-time high was $73,738.84, we think it may be telegraphing us to “get thirsty” ahead of time. Wave 2 retracements are never even, of course.

At the Ranch: Anti-Aging Vindication’

I sent an email to a few colleagues and George2 this morning:

Subject: George is Not Crazy

Well, not completely, anyway.

You’ll recall that when a small test of rolling back aging was reported in Nature (sept. 2019) we cobbled up an OTC workalike. We take DHEA, 5-HTP, and Berberines at bedtime, often augmented with melatonin (to bump HGH serum levels high during first 4-5 hours of sleep.  In addition, we have been using red light therapy on the chest to apply 660/850 light to the thymus.

Well, lookie here now!

Does the term “the quick and the dead” ring a bell?

I’m not going to tell you to “Go Watch it!” Or, ante up the $40-bucks for a year of Peoplenomics.com where my original work is published.

Instead, I’m going to point out the oddity.  WTF is with people who have access to great tools and information with which to counter aging, who just go to the couch, sit down, and wait for the Grim Reaper to come-a-calling.

Your choice, but we would not be surprised to live another 5-20 years longer than our “normal” epigenetic markers would have suggested 20-years ago. Seems to us that this is (other than cash) one of the best things a person can “Have more of to spend.”

  1. George, you are definitely ahead of the curve on anti-aging, and, frankly, damn near everything.

In general, the secret to staying young-ish is no secret at all. Most people already know, but the execution is where we get tripped up. Afterall, the whole system is setup to keep you sick enough to stay on permanent pharma prescriptions ( or is that subscriptions?), but well enough to keep paying taxes.

Eat whole foods, avoid sugar, carbs, processed foods of all kinds, booze, get hard exercise several times a week and get plenty of sleep.

Of course no man (or woman) is without vice, so everything in moderation including moderation. Don’t forget to have some fun.

    • Keith Richards says he is “trying to enjoy” his new clean lifestyle away from drugs and alcohol, describing it as a “unique experience”.

In an interview with The Telegraph, The Rolling Stones guitarist explains that this sober lifestyle is a new thing for him now that he’s given up drugs and cigarettes.

“The cigarettes I gave up in 2019, I haven’t touched them since,” Richards explains. “I gave up heroin in 1978. I gave up cocaine in 2006. I still like a drink occasionally – because I’m not going to heaven any time soon – but apart from that, I’m trying to enjoy being straight. It’s a unique experience for me.”

      • Ref the paper Entangled biphoton generation in myelin sheath, Mike – a good find.
Most people miss the significance of papers like this. Sure, generation of biophotons as a nerve fires and cool and all – plus they help us understand why LLLLT works (low level laser light therapies) and all.
But at the extremes, people miss the Big in Your Face (There biblically it is said “I AM the Light).
And down at the discrete chemistry stage where the generation (and ability to “read”) biphoton encoded liquids (our memories being dispersed throughout the body as water elements) provides a good starting point in psychology for the investigation into tyhe read-write tools of humans. For, once we get those understood, we can mimic the “encoding” accomplished by the biphotonic route and go to ‘direct knowledge.
And of course, when you read Gerald Pollacks work at the Univ. Wash (Seattle) you quickly come to the idea that if water can exist in numerous “gelled states” then is it not possible that we thing have a path from the brain to mass storage area of the body?
And further, then, would is not follow that this “storage area of “polarized” water” would then explain the many aspects of phantom limb syndrome when one human receives the body parts of another? Because the water matrices transferring along with surgical reattachment from a dead or donor memory/learning then become “readable” by the recipient (new) body they are placed in?

  3. I’d bet a dollar to a donut that the incursion (NATO) into the Russian districts are 50-75% mercenary’s there are no more youth left in Ukraine

  4. Societal “rot”.

Probably a symptom of the mixed cultures. Russia is more purebred over the U.S. or U.K. and we saw the videos of the Russian subway system being clean and tidy. Look at YT videos of/notice purebred Japanese beaches. There’s little to no litter. What little litter you might see is probably a legitimate napkin blown from a table Vs U.S. subways and beaches stacked with homeless and garbage. “You know those people.”

China is purish and don’t forget the American shoplifters. Last year (2023) Trump said shoplifters should be shot but time slide back to 2017 when the UCLA shoplifters were freed by China and the shoplifters thanked Trump. Those shoplifters were facing 10 years in the slammer. That sentence would be labeled racist in the U.S.

There’s no other glaring differences but culture.

  5. MAJ13: “Eat whole foods, avoid sugar, carbs, processed foods of all kinds, booze, get hard exercise several times a week and get plenty of sleep.” Thanks for the most succinct summary I have seen of the work of Michael Greger and Peter Attia. Their books (How Not to Die and Outlive) total over a thousand pages and contain thousands of endnotes.

Read the books to fine tune supplements, figure which exercises are most important, and understand why the things in your summary work, but if you do the six things you list, you’ve got 90-95% of the protocol knocked. Based on my reading of the books, I would have put “hard exercise” as #1, but that is a minor quibble.

A quick hint I have found useful: Shop on the perimeter of the supermarket; avoid the center where everything is in boxes or bags.

    • Thanks and you’re right about the supermarket. As a matter of fact, I just did some shopping before lunch today and except for laundry detergent and toilet paper, I never set foot on an interior aisle.

      • Boxes and bags are not inherently bad. Shopping STILL comes down to reading labels, and having paid sufficient attention in 1st year high school chemistry that you’ve retained enough to comprehend what you’re reading.

  6. Buy the rumor – Sell the fact
    – Looks as though Wall Street is in a nervous reverse this morning.
Sell the rumor [ today ] and buy the fact [ tomorrow ]??
    – The “fact” being the Federal Reserve rate cut announcement.

    • IF Powell announces tomorrow. Remember, that is not the Fed meeting – that’s on the 18th. I think he will hold tight to 2% inflation and things will implode after Labor Day. But that’s me and I spill a lot of Scotch.
How’s your bud Smokey doing up the road?

  7. Want some Woo-woo? I didn’t, but… after doing yard work and walking to keep my arthritic hip working yesterday I took my anti-inflammatories and settled in to an evening of finishing Michael Crichton’s final book, “Eruption”. It’s about the Big Island’s Mauna Loa having a historic blowout and threatening an Army secret that could kill the whole world. Couldn’t set the book down. Very well written. Local place names, language, and culture I’ve been accustomed to here for over 40 years. Finished and went to bed.

12:53am I am rattled awake by a 4.7 earthquake on the south flank of Kilauea. Dutifully got up, checked USGS website, and filed my “I felt it” report for them, and TRIED to get back to sleep.

Then somewhere in the wee hours, my Brother printer that shares my bedroom decided to lite up and beep. Tried to ignore it, to no success. No apologies… I don’t keep George’s early hours (I AM retired!). So here I am, pre-sunrise, up to check the printer, which tells me that a firmware update is available & do I want to install it? This is what has been keeping me awake for hours? YES, dammit!

No sleep for the weary. Might as well log on and complain. Need coffee… (grumble). The earthquake adrenaline has worn off.

    • I don’t think I would like to live on the side of an active volcano but I suppose you wouldn’t want to live in tornado alley. Funny what is normal.

      • Eleanor, I grew up in tornado alley, and was duly lifetime traumatized by one at age 5! I can’t watch the film ‘Twister’. I lived through it. Why be normal? My friend used to say “Thank God I’m normal! The rest of the world is f***ed up, though!”

        • “I can’t watch the film ‘Twister’.”

I took my kids to see it — first run, at the local drive-in. I was honestly nervous & checking the rearview for funnel clouds on the drive home.

Back before I was born, my Mom was the concessions manager at the drive-in to which I took my kids that night. The concessions stand was a reinforced concrete pillbox that would’ve done Himmler’s engineers proud. My mother rode out two tornadoes in that concessions stand — one which passed through the drive-in between the stand and the screen, and one which actually ran over the stand. Dad was with her for this latter storm. They had interesting ways of describing the feeling of both the leading edge, and the core.

I’ve never been that close, and have no desire to ever be, unless I’m in a similar pillbox. I’m good, just spotting storms and radioing locations…

        • The closest I’ve been to a tornado was in Dallas in 1957. I was delivering newspapers when I got word of a tornado on the ground less than 2 miles away. I climbed a hackberry tree and watched it throwing debris that looked like big sheets of cardboard (I found out later it was roofs). That was close enough for me.

        • My definition of ‘Terror TV’ is watching storm chaser videos. Why would anyone drive TOWARD a funnel?!

      • It just dawned on me that maybe… like G2… I’m an adrenaline junkie?
        Define ‘normal’.

  8. re: Filings
    feat: Super Hero School

    Folks,

With all the DNC circus clamour around and about, Ukraine msm coverage of the President of Ukraine’s Tuesday visit to his hometown Kryvyi Rih has perhaps not received its due desserts internationally. The President along with his First Lady celebrated a school development bequest by the latter’s New York headquartered charitable foundation. The Kryvyi Rih “Super Heroes School” is one of several under development in the Ukraine.

The Ukraine First Lady’s charity purposed to garner foreign philanthropy partners was launched in September, 2022 at a New York Opera gala along with special guests Mrs. Clinton, the Opera’s GM and grandson of ethnic Western Ukrainians, a “Mystic Pizza” actor, and a “Blue Lagoon” actress great-niece of an Italian noble and banking heir.

The charity website offers a generic overview of first quarter 2024 activity along with a high production value financial statement page bereft of an audited financial statement. However in lieu there appears an advice that the charity “has been audited by CAF America and is a transparent and reliable organization”.

The UK headquartered CAF, Charties Aid Foundation, is celebrating its centenary and enjoys prime office space at London in the Tower 42 development. The City’s once tallest skyscraper on Bishopsgate rules silently above the former Crosby Hall site memorialized in Shakespeare’s “Richard III” as the future king plots to gain the throne in the 1480’s. It was later home to King Henry VIII’s first wife, Sir Walter Raleigh, and the East India Company.

Allow DJ George to bring us back to the current DNC circus, party favors not included. Once again it’s those super heroes of rock, The Fab Four! Lennon channels an 1843 poster by Pablo Fanque, England’s first Black Circus owner, to Bishopsgate. Find out for yourself if Harry the Horse in small doses dances the Walz! Here we go from the Sargent Pepper album:
“Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!”.

    • I have a bottle with a roll-on top, made for and approved for horses. Label says ‘Not for Human use’. ROFL! Good stuff.
Kinda reminiscent of ‘horse paste’… not for human use either. (Snicker) Clearly the FDA will not approve it for human use because it works too well… cuts into big pharma profits.

  9. Tropical Storm Watch posted for the Big Island this evening. This one formed in the Central Pacific here but is not expected to become a hurricane. TS Hone (hoe-nay) will pass south of the Big Island this weekend and bring us some rain and wind. Central Pacific storms are given Hawaiian names. Always prepped, ready for storms, earthquakes, eruptions, etc.

    • As in Miso ?

Like “miso hoe-nay, buy me drink luv U loong time!’

Good to see you Guys and Gals out there in middle of big blue Pacific still got a sense of humor, at least the weather service peeps seem to. : D

  10. “Confront shoplifters, get fired? Is that how corporations are rolling?”

It’s been that way for more than 50 years now. Back in the early ’60s, some insurance actuary puked out the idea that losses from shoplifting were less of a financial issue than med bills for employees who were shot or hit over the head with a pipe, and thieves who would receive favorable “damages” judgements from Leftist judges (I did mention “1960s,” right? This bullshit did not start with the Obama Administration. It started when the precursors to SDS and the Black Panthers began to graduate lawyers.) It merely exploded under Obama, after “cooking” in the undercurrents of society for two generations.

…Where did “Book ’em Danno” go?

Whenever I was a “piece of work” kid, I heard “Wait ’till your father gets home…”

THEN, the actions of the Sacred Pen of LBJ began to take effect. Nuclear families began to become modular families, with father-figures becoming both replaceable, and optional.

    Fast forward 15 years:

By 1980, teachers were telling kids they had rights granted them by the United Nations, which made it so they could lodge criminal complaints against their (often sole) parent, if they believed they were being abused.

The kiddies have been living in the “Rights of the Child” society for 45 years now, raised with neither discipline nor respect. Would anyone honestly doubt the eventual outcome?
