Sure – market futures prices tell us there will be a higher average price of shares – at least for a while – when this bloated pig of a market finally wakes up. However, a “digital canary in the coal mine” is trying to die.
Just a day and a half ago, BTC was $73,615. But, when I looked this morning, it was trading (earlier) around $66,850. There, there, no tears. Let me help you with the math. Down $6,785. Or, from the higher number down, um, down 9.18 percent.
Laughing, my consigliere called to insist “Yes, this time it is different” than (insert your list, but Tulip Mania, South Seas Bubble, and the Great Depression are good starting points). “I haven’t bought any yet…”
No doubt, prescience on his part. But don’t count on all the made-up money going anywhere soon. It’s all just a cult following and it’s total market cap is less than NVidia – but that’s an interesting differential chart to follow, as well.
For now, the BTFD (buy the freaking dips) crowd is yelling their fool heads off. Why, I was just noticing how BTC Price: $576 Million Liquidated As Bitcoin (BTC) Price Cracks 7%, More Pain Ahead? (coingape.com). More than “one born every minute” by the look of it. When we inflation (or people) adjusted we should be up around 3-fools born every minute. Which squares pretty well with observed (funhouse) reality as seen in the fat-mirror of left-wing corporate driven media and their agency handlers.

Actual Economics
If, like us, you’re a Fundamentalist at the Church of the Almighty Dollar, there are fresh epistles to read. Like this from the NY Fed espousing the Gospel of Growth. Well, maybe not so much:
“Business activity continued to decline in New York State, according to firms responding to the March 2024 Empire State Manufacturing Survey. The headline general business conditions index fell nineteen points to -20.9. Demand softened as new orders declined significantly, and shipments were lower. Unfilled orders continued to shrink, and delivery times were little changed. Inventories declined. Labor market indicators weakened, as employment and hours worked both decreased. The pace of input price increases moderated somewhat, while the pace of selling price increases held steady. Firms expect conditions to improve over the next six months, though optimism remained subdued.
Next, we will turn to the Book of Labor and enjoy the parable of the Pseudo-Growth Country as we study Import and Export Prices.”
Imports
U.S. import prices increased for the second consecutive month in February, rising 0.3 percent. The February and January advances were the first consecutive increases since September and August 2023. Despite the recent advances, prices for U.S. imports decreased 0.8 percent over the past year.
Exports
The price index for U.S. exports increased 0.8 percent in February, after rising 0.9 percent in January. Higher nonagricultural and agricultural prices contributed to the February advance. Despite the recent increases, U.S. export prices declined 1.8 percent for the year ended in February. That was the smallest 12- month drop since the index decreased 0.8 percent from February 2022 to February 2023.

Bacterial Economics – Cycling On
In a lifetime of news-chasing, there are authors and thinkers you get to interview who really make some core changes in how you look at life. A running series of emails with the late Cesare Marchetti on his work on what became known as the Marchetti constant was one such event.
He evolved an S-curve stochastic which was very useful both in analyzing market, but also in successive waves of technological evolution. He saw this as particularly clear in his work on the future of transportation. Successive waves of replacement technologies is how this works:

You’ll see the problem, one hopes? We are – as evidenced by the recent sloppiness of how Boeing has been performing of late – rather late in the dominance of air travel. A successor is due.
Marchetti’s work had penciled in “maglev” (magnetic levitation) systems, but there are some serious problems in these. Specifically, they are cap-ex (capital expenditure) intensive. Which is precisely the kind of thing you do not want or need when you are at the long-end (think long-tail bond analysis here) of the interest-compounding trap.
This is where we get to looking at the recent disclosures of (likely trans dimensional) craft being sighted by the Navy. And we wonder if some of that fancy physics being pioneered by people like Salvatore Pais will be along shortly.
If you haven’t been following, you might wish to read his patent US10144532B2 – Craft using an inertial mass reduction device – Google Patents. For now, we would split our bets on the Future very unevenly. We hold that Central Banks don’t like – and indeed hate competition. The rise of crypto will be jacked by central bank digital currencies (CBDC’s) soon enough. We still remain fond of Future Owning.
Which is where you could build a reasonable portfolio to pass along to the heirs (who will piss it away, but that’s another convo.). Buy the oil stocks with the largest proven, recoverable (and politically available) reserves in the ground. And maybe some Lockheed-Martin, which keeps telling the .mil underwriters of compact fusion how close to being fieldable the technology is. Then – remembering there are still extremely smart people at Boeing (*Phantom Works, anyway, not corporate or QC so much) who might be able to nudge some of that Pais mass reduction work to practicum.
That doesn’t explain the rest of the Big Gamble – but I suppose that will have to await our next in-depth Peoplenomics report. Because the world is at – we think – a classic “population behavior [as in bacterial growth] at the edge of the Petri dish.
Just before the agar runs out.

Around the Ranch: Dialing It Back
I’ve decided, now that I’m well-past 75, to refocus on my core value. The problem is, I have too many things I enjoy – and there’s not enough time to do it all in this lifetime.
- Peoplenomics was originally published only one day per week, though it has been twice weekly for years now.
- UrbanSurvival columns have swelled, too. Most are upwards of 1,500 words and more. I actually proof read ’em, now, too.
- New projects – like the Ultra-Make website have been fun, but there won’t be a column there this weekend. Too many projects and we don’t like to turn out slapdash work.
- Also, being shelved, the Chillerponics.com site – because the actual doing in life takes a bit longer.
- Plus, my “workstations” miss me. I haven’t done a mix in the recording studio in a couple of years, the hobby shop has dozens of fun projects, and the completion of Imagineering our home isn’t even close to on schedule. (The life-sized replica of King Tut’s statue in the Egypt room, for example, is complete on the materials side…we just haven’t gotten to it yet.
There are so many projects to get done, it’s unreal. Still haven’t got The 100-year Toaster up on Amazon. Nor has the cover and second draft of my book Building a Personal Ark, though both have been serialized on the Peoplenomics subscriber side.
Ham radio has also taken a back seat for half a dozen years now…
And there’s a box with all the parts (and sounds from Gary Garritan’s World Instruments) just waiting for me to get to the dimension-hacking work. I just recently figured out that the “flux capacitor” fictionally used in the Back to the Future series was not part of the (1.3 gigawatt) power circuitry, While wholly fictional, there is a possible analog to it…in a different stage of portal opening. But now we’re off into the experimental weeds, again.
Over time, this site will dial back and the “good stuff” will all migrate over to the subscriber side. The time required to keep Urban going – about 5-hours per day – when site revenue is about $13 a day, works out to $2.60 an hour – and that’s before hellacious expenses while we wait for low-cost fiber to make it this far from town.
No shortage of words this morning, but you will see shorter columns in coming mornings. Love to write, love to share, but Peoplenomics first, Urban second and I’m going to shut down other projects and refocus on the core.
And the portal opening.
Write when you get rich,
George@Ure.net
Glad you are dialing it back a bit. You might even take a holiday off now and then.
Ure project site is fun, but there isn’t a need to post every weekend. 52 projects a year, even small ones, is a bit much. Keep up the good work.
n___
That seems a bit flowery methinks. Slacker comes to mind.
My bent is George is finally showing his age. You go ole fella (said the 69 YO). I aspire to your nominal running total. Not so much your self declared schedule. Good rethink.
Dividing the sites beyond free-for-all / donors never made much sense to me. OK to own multiple web publishing services and linked portals. But, focus through and to the one: UrbanSurvival.

Concentrating on core activities, and metering out time and money are important. I tend to over-analyze before moving forward with just about anything these days. In retrospect, I was presented with opportunities which I rejected out of hand, because I had no real experience in recognizing and capitalizing on the tidal opportunities. Frantic busy work and ego have a way of obscuring that which is of real importance. I get 40 hours of that a week; but not on my time.
Right now, laying in stocks of key components without breaking the bank is high on my priority list. I recently bought 10 Aussie ranch-style aggressive bow saw blades in two sizes. I also got my best chain saws working with extra chains, and laid in small stock of canned gas. That is a small example.
Change is in the air. Minimizing off-core activities, and avoiding hurting myself is part of what I am doing. If you ever watch the pro’s on the bare-@ssed survival shows, you get a different perspective on time management. There are things that have to be done on schedule, and then there are things that are better done on a tidal schedule; that is, waiting to see what the tide washes in. I had a few lean years where i got introduced to the tidal-time concept. Maintaining that duality in setting up priorities is a good thing. G____ is making adjustments for the changing operating environment and long haul. I wish him well.
There are indications that multiple U.S. civilian and military research orgs are funding ‘black’ inter-dimensional technologies, which are rumored to open portals from one dimensional reality to another. One component of inter-dimensional research is in what Albert Einstein called the 4th dimension – time. But time travel is currently believed to be only one-way – into the future. Current physics theory and (limited) knowledge of the universe does not currently allow for one to travel backward in our timeline. Yet rumors of such travels persist, with reports like ‘the Philadelphia Experiment,’ which allegedly consisted of massive electromagnetic field generation on the USS Elderidge, resulting in teleportation of the ship and crew through time and space, with disastrous results for the crew. And then there’s ‘The Montauk Project,’ which is also said to have had accidental time travel elements associated with it. Nikola Tesla is believed by many to have accomplished some form of time travel during his experiments with electricity and wireless transmission while exposing himself to massive voltages. His mysterious death and missing scientific files only add to the intrigue surrounding this genius. Perhaps Tesla just jumped into the phone booth with Bill, Ted and Rufus. “Most Excellent” possibility.
The Elderidge was moored in Crete in the mid 1980’s. She was the only DDG that the Greek Navy had moored there in Souda Bay that had her hull numbers and indicia painted over in haze gray. I asked a good friend who was there at the time LOL.
Rod Serling: There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Ahh., the paradox of time travel.
-Let us say you managed to pull an H.G. Wells and build a time machine in your basement workshop.., but according to the most believed physics – time travel is only possible going forward.., so – you hop in your machine and poof.., you’re two hundred years into the future.
With me so far? Good.
Now, since you physically exist in the future with your machine., do you still exist in the past – that you just left ? No. You don’t – you have left that time line and now exist solely in the future. and can’t get back.
As far as everyone is concerned, you have simply vanished. People disappear all the time. Mysteries abound. Rumors and gossip flow – but you’re gone.
But you have a problem. A very serious problem. You did go into the future., but to the exact same spot that you left – you only changed the time., not the location.., you didn’t fly somewhere else.., you are still right at the same spot that your started from.
In two hundred years.., or two thousand years.., what has happened to that workshop space where you built your machine? It absolutely will not be the safe work area you left.
You could materialize into a newly formed lake. .., or inside of a mountain – where you would instantly be crushed and die as you materialize.., or into a radiation zone so deadly that you can’t work the controls to jump-ahead and out of the danger-zone…, or smack in the middle of a war zone where you and your machine would probably be vaporized by one A.I. side or the other. or something very simple.., your old house was torn down and a new one was built. – but your basement workshop was filled-in when they built the new house – and you materialize into the rock and dirt ten feet under the new home. Instant death. You won’t even know what happened. And once again – you have vanished. [ You do that a lot, don’t you?]
The variables of the future.., what the actual future will be., at that ‘spot’, is so great that the chances of you surviving the transit will be near zero.
.
.., and- according to one small group of Chaos Theory – you can only travel backwards in time.
d’Lynn, one question I have regarding your interesting post; What happens to the individual’s soul while he travels into future ?
time tunnel LOL love that show
I thought about that, also.
Since your soul is part and parcel of your living being – it would travel with you – into the future. However, would that somehow mess up the cosmic order ?
Yo believo that Spirit (Soul lite) can travel thru time. It has been told that is how the overseers & their miserable slaves the grays(Miminu) do manipulation thing. “Sleep with eye open” is just one reference in modern pop culture to this phenom, there are many many more, including B.Spears music video depicting fluid filled crystal matrices with Humans inside.

…seems to me, that , if you had not allowed for the fact that the solar system is speeding through 3D space, you’d most likely materialize in empty deep space — and quickly croak. The earth will have moved on in it’s planetary motion by many thousands of miles in 200 years.
….., yep !
You guys have simply lost your sense of romance. Where is your inner Heinlein? Did you send it off into the future, n’er to return?
Seriously, consideration of “displacement” began with me, the first time I saw the transporter in Star Trek. How could the device materialize an object on the surface of another object. Why do transported objects not materialize above the surface and then drop or fall? What happens if someone materializes with their feet below ground, etc.? It was from these ponders that I began to consider the motion displacement of space versus time.
While others might’ve found such contemplation rather droll and boring, I personally found these inner discussions, er, fascinating…
(“the first time I saw the transporter in Star Trek. How could the device materialize an object on the surface of another object. Why do transported objects not materialize above the surface and then drop or fall? “)
in the movie future war on zonprime.. they do fall.. I loved the show startrek.. the transporter.. when I got into the military.. there was a department RD.. one day on delivering stuff they had ordered.. I stepped into wonderland.. Several things they had I had never seen before.. all models and film etc.. the one I seen that caught my eye.. was a four by four square box.. clear glass box.. in it was the EARTH in real time.. it was a hologram… in real time.. what I was told is satellites in space in the clark belt signaled back images that are projected.. it was amazing.. a few years later.. the realization of how entertaining it could be came to light when I was at an electronics trade show.. there was a pair of goggles.. wow.. put them on and instantly I was standing on the edge of the grand canyon..look left look right it was seamless.. hear the wind rustling through the trees and bushes.. a bird flying over head it was like you were in a three dimensional view master.. I for one.. have always wondered why these things are not in the public now.. you can buy goggles.. but I haven’t seen to see if they were the same..
I am blind in one eye.. everything I look at is dimensionally changed.. I have figured out how to compensate for depth of field.. but it isn’t as spectacular as it use to be.. speaking about crazy.. I seen the biggest television screen I have ever seen.. forty or fifty feet long and twenty or twentyfive feet high.. and sharp.. sharp as a tack.. the one guy said.. yes it is all smart squares.. not sure how big they are but each one is a separate screen.. that way repairs can be made without having to change the whole thing.. imagine that in your back yard on fire night LOL LOL I have a couple of FX projectors.. the grand kids loved it.. at a neighbors.. the skeleton band coming up out of the ground and playing a song while two skeletons dances was amazing.. and the pumpkins telling jokes..
here is a couple of videos showing it.. nothing like when it is in the yard though… amazing and fun

So maybe Tesla jumped forward and became Elon Musk?
the past, present and future all exist at once. you are in the past, present and future. nothing is determined until it is measured. everything, everywhere, at at once.
block and superposition theories.
I use to argue that with my boss about night work…
See I was working today tomorrow and yesterday all at the same time.. shouldn’t that require triple payment.. LOL I knew the present past and future at the same time..Oh that happened yesterday.. or that happened tomorrow.. LOL LOL
Here is what I believe about time travel… there was a television show I watched when I was young.. it was called the time travel. the theory the show was based uppon was the Gamma-magnetic field principle. two alternating magnetic fields.. with a electic field in between..
SO.. like the nagnetic ball traveling through a copper pipe.. does time slow down and bend.. we have read a lot of the Bermuda triangle with a lot of the same things..
The Cern.. yup splitting the atom and the potential to create or did they a black hole.. worm holes etc..
NOW I have never had two magnetic vortexes going in opposite directions..what would the affect be has crossed my mind but in seeing what ONE magnetic vortex in a low frequency can do.. ..Well because of that I do have some idea on how one magnetic vortex and a electronic pulsed grequency works.. done that.. and it makes water fall apart.Have I thought about two alternating vortexes would work.. that kind of scares me a little and nave never tried it and don’t plan on trying it anytime in the future the cern is doing stuff like that… don’t know what frequency it is the equipment to do it is extremely expensive and I am already getting a lot of guff over my unfinished projects..My thought is.. not time travel more on the lines of a bug zapper is what you would get. with the duel magnetic field vortex.. along with an electric pulsed magnetic field.. the atoms are pulled by their elected magnetic alliance.. considering the Zeeman magnetic field theory with the three lines of magnetic two strong one weak and the other two in a vortex where the magnetic fields don’t quite cross .. the weaker frequency flowing through the two alternating fields an interaction with a moving charge has no other choice but to yield to the bigger forces in a cross pole. Bohr’s theory of circular orbits is useful for visualizing how an electron’s orbit is affected by a magnetic field.. the time when the least has the most.. for getting water to fall apart is easy simple and works.. the thought could I put a bug in a bubble in the field and would the bug stay alive or would it be destroyed.. the bugs cells with the magnetic alignments of the cells would in my opinion pull apart..
the stories of the eldridge and a magnetic field cloaking device.. seems to coincide with what I believe.. where bodies were imbedded in metal etc.. now being alive like some stories say I don’t believe.. the cells are pulled apart like a bug zapper.. use it to make hydrogen fuel sure you betcha no issues.. using it to go into the future or the past.. not such a good idea.. but then who am I.. some moron in the wastelands that has a theory on frequencies being the root of everything
Call them other realms. The word “dimension” gets overused. Displacement (length-height-width) and time are the dimensions visible to the naked eye. Physicists theorize all sorts of dimensions under the hood of the universe, but those are largely mathematical constructs designed to reconcile what the senses detect against experimental data.
What separates realms? What happens between the ticks of quantum clocks?
What evidence is there to support the existence of other realms? Rumor, folklore and mythology abound. Ever watch the Ghost Adventures? The multiverse is waiting to be brought into the cultural mainstream.
Call them whatever you want.., they are still separate dimensions.
.., and time is not ‘visible’ to the human eye. It is a human construct to help explain that which we do see.
When you see motion, you are seeing time visibly manifest. Velocity = change in displacement / change in time.
the ability to see the past.. now I believe that could be possible.. we see it every day.. our reflection in a mirror or a calm pond is a look at the past..while in the future.. as small as it is.. it is still an old image.. I believe altering the minds ability to view frequency .. similar to the native american ritual of consuming or smoking certain herbs allows them the ability to view or see the effects..

“I’m going to shut down other projects and refocus on the core.” God for you !
I wish more people would pay more attention to their own core rather than bitch abt. issues they have absolutely NO control over.
(“I wish more people would pay more attention to their own core rather than bitch abt. issues they have absolutely NO control over.”)
I get that.. and I agree and disagree at the same time..
the things people are bitching about ultimately affects them and their families and everyone they know about future, their cost expense ratio..( people are living on plastic right now..) their safety.. will they have to go to war and sacrifice for the corrupted few..
I don’t have any issues of helping another with a hand up.. I do what I can.. now its at my expense.. but if your willing to jump in and help that is appreciated.. but.. for me to say.. NO I WANT YOU TO DO THIS.. is wrong it is your choice not someone elses to be making choices that will ultimately affect your household your safety your well being then ask your family or you to sacrifice without any attempts at them being an active member.. that is why they are bitching that is why I bitch.. what they are doing ultimately affects all of us..
in every example of civilizations that failed it has been the same.. where IF.. the people in political powers had made the CHOICE of doing the right thing.. the outcome would have changed dramatically.
in every example of historical failure of a civilization.. the people bitched to get those that do have the power to work towards doing the right thing..
Lets take the LET THEM EAT CAKE.. if they don’t like it Marie Antoinette.. NOW I believe that when her staff and all the representitives that came and gave them the stark warnings of the needs of the people that were starving.. had gone and done soup kitchens or at least appeared to care about the needs of the people.. they probably would have lived to ripe old ages.. we know how the outcome of that went..
we see that over and over.. during the dirty thirties.. they had a heck of a time getting Al Capone.. no one wanted to turn him in.. why he opened soup kitchens.. and made sure kids had fresh milk and a snack at school.. a meal at dinner time.. my father told me a story about how once a week the Boys would drive into the neighborhood and offload boxes of groceries to be placed at the doors of the homes of families with children.. they didn’t want him gone.. he was their hero.. it is the same now..
except the things the people are bitching about.. they have no control over this madness we call politics. all they want is to see the people elected to do the right thing.. I personally dread the day this flips where the average person says screw it they are not going to do anything for the people our needs are not even on the list..
like the bill in congress now that is asking to give every single alien five hundred dollars a month..whos pocket does that come out of.. yours and mine
“S-curve stochastic”
The S-curve looks interesting. Would the S-Curve apply to energy.
The old folks used to burn solids like wood/dung > coal > dams/windmills > liquids > gasses > nuclear > ????.
The energy breakthrough is what will drive transportation…. unless nuclear annihilation comes and humanity slides back to footmobile.
Biden said, “U.S. Steel has been an iconic American steel company for more than a century, and it is vital for it to remain an American steel company that is domestically owned and operated.”
Therein lies the problem, icons. People pretending icons are still going concerns. Who doesn’t like going to Oldtown Bar and listening to the stories… “The mill/yard/line would let out for lunch and 100 men would come in for burgers and fries then rush back to the…. the row was packed.”
Now .gov decides which “icons” like Amtrak, General Motors, Boeing…. U.S. Steel will be saved. If one depends on those nameplates for cheddar of course go along. for the free eats while everyone else is picking up the tab.
Nostalgia is hard to overcome. Go to a car show or a high school reunion.

“Iconic” See how it works, most memories are “iconic”.
Look to Kit Kat.
“Have you noticed Kit Kat chocolate bars are a bit smaller? You’re not imagining it. Nestle has confirmed the iconic chocolate is the latest victim of “shrinkflation”.”
“Nestle has now confirmed the size of their ‘fun size’ Kit Kats has indeed become smaller, with the confectionary company reducing the weight by 3 grams, from 17 to 14 grams. That’s a 17 per cent reduction.”
‘The KIT KAT® candy bar dates back to 1935 when the wafer crisp chocolate bar was launched in England. Originally, it was known as “Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp,” but in 1937 the candy bar was renamed as “KIT KAT® Chocolate Crisp”.’
‘In the 1980s, Nestlé, a Swiss multinational food and beverage company, acquired Rowntree’s, the original producer of KitKat.’
Nestle chocolate sucks!
I asked my uncle about ‘iconic’ candy.
He said the original Three Musketeers was ‘iconic’ then the war came. After the 3M he indicates the Sky Bar candy bar was the best but the formula changed sometime in the ’50’s and never was the same.
I never tasted an original 3M so…. just like a PC desktop, everyone has different icons.
yes.. the three musketeers split into three candy bars.. one vanilla one chocolate and one strawberry the original three musketeers had three mini bars in it.
I actually don’t think the strawberry bar went very far.. the vanilla one was given a different name..
the filling for the strawberry one is..
2 (1 oz) envelopes gelatin
1/2 cup + 1/2 cup room temperature or cold water
2 cups Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
1/3 cup corn syrup
Pinch salt
4 teaspoons strawberry extract
Red food color if desired as needed
1 (12 oz) bag white chocolate chips
16 ounces chocolate flavored candy coating
I forget the name of the bar that was created from that now.. it was a favorite one of mine as a kid..
there is a great book on making candy bars.. We actually don’t make many anymore.. we still have the molds.. but we made more when the kids were little than we do now.. the daughter makes them though..I like the coconut fluff one myself similar to mounds and the strawberry..It was necessary to know how to do it.. to give the kids a quality of life similar to those with lots of spendable money to the kids when we were going through hard times..
https://www.amazon.com/Chocolates-Confections-Formula-Technique-Confectioner/dp/0470424419/ref=sr_1_2?
similar to the labor day telethon sausage and hot dog making .. the telethon would be on the tv.. and while watching and listening to the singers etc on there.. we would make bologna bratwurst and hot dogs.. potato bologna was great..
this guy cooks the meat.. we never did.. we would grind it similar to making other sausages.. put a half cup of powdered milk or potato starch as a binder.. and fill the casings.. then smoke it.. cold smoke it.. OMG I want some already.. great to make.. easy to do..
Kaiser-Frazer is also an iconic car company to him. He said back then Kaiser-Frazer was one of the “Big Four” and their cars were beautiful.
Agreed. I have found, in the last 3-6 months, that the mid-level chocolate companies taste like nasty Frankfort or Palmer candy, complete with waxy texture. It’s nasty. there isn’t many who make high quality sweets that isn’t chock full of crap that shouldn’t be in it. The most glaring example of ditching quality for quantity or saving money would be in the ice cream section. Aldi’s premium chocolate or vanilla has a whopping 5 ingredients and all natural. $6 a carton. I have yet to find any other brand that matches it in taste or simple ingredient list. All others put in fillers and emulsifiers that just isn’t needed, except it somehow saves them money (just a guess). My rule is if it has more than 5-10 ingredients or has several syllable chemical names, than I don’t eat it.
The reason for the waxy texture comes from the Ingredients.. using cheaper alternatives to the cacao pod..
I use to make choices plate bunnies for the kids for easter.. I tried very different ingredients like carob instead of cacao .. they are stretching the chocolate to get more from less. puffing bags with air to look as if there’s more.
below is a great video of making chocolate from scratch.
https://youtu.be/Q2i19c5U258?si=pN3vvlEJGBmL6Mr_
its really easy.. make sure you clean the grinder bucket well ..
below is the link to the wet grinder I swear by.. they were considerably cheaper when I got mine.

I actually just reminded my mini me to take more treats out. my two grandsons were over playing with the kids in the apartments. he grabbed treats for just them. they are really poor so. I reminded him that its common courtesy to share.. they like treats as well I am really sure that offering them one would be welcomed..they are to polite to ask..really good kids..do the right thing..
Yo Portalman,
Got an interesting video to share with the onboard intellgencia aka the CCSIB(cantankerous curmudgeons scientific inquiry board). This relates to Inner Earth, the not so mythical place (most planets have em) known to the ancient creator “gods”as The Abzu. In fact Lord of the Abzu (Enki) meant all the planets inner realms. Inner Earth said to be the abode of a Female race of humanoid reptos..the Amargee. Has an inner Sun and inner ocean, with entry portals at either pole.
There is some interesting discussion of things geometric and magnetic ..and hope the peanut galley enjoys, or at least gives a couple of minutes to review and comment.

Here’s a story of a cave in Canada that’s ‘too dangerous’. Some of the YouTubers have means to explore, but can’t.
Could it be an opening into the underworld?
Huge, recently discovered B.C. cave closed to public — and trespassers face $1M fine
‘It is an extremely dangerous location … the cave itself and its remoteness’
B.C.’s provincial government has closed the area around a newly discovered cave thought to be Canada’s largest for the sake of its preservation and public safety — threatening a $1-million fine for those who don’t stay away.

.
I wonder what has happened in the last six years since this story was came out ??
I like Nancy have been down in many caves.. I have seen some extremely beautiful things.. in area’s closed off to the public some off the list because of the fragile environment inside and the historical value of the items inside… I have seen some that were destroyed because of roaming visitors.. then the safety because of other elements that could easily take a life.. ..
My thoughts are this is similar and has some really dangerous elements and historical value to it.. and they closed it off for safety sake and to keep the historical elements secure for examination and cataloging…
its not a very big one.. at just basically one city block long.. My thought is I will go with the decisions of the professionals.. people should not go into the cave..
its like locking the door to king tuts tomb.. should they let it open for everyone to just wander around or keep it secure.. No question on what I feel or believe.. stay out
Hypoxia Anyone?
And the portal opening.
I am currently amazed and in wonder that the coming eclipse begins at the exact moment I stood in that place 4 years ago to the minute, on April 8th 2020. to the minute.
pretty wild. I had no idea there would be an eclipse 4 years later to the minute that I stood in the dry well, in the sacred spot.
And the portal opening.
maybe something will happen to me? will I become a butterfly of sorts?
it’s time for me to take a digital detox. time away is good for the soul. let everything resonate, permeate and percolate in its ripe season.
I used to fight with and against all these systems in a world that is dying. attempts to dominate, flex my spiritual muscle.
I spoke to THE DUDE about it. HE said, let it die. let that old world die. I said it doesn’t make sense. like I have been transported to some crazy world. HE said this world as it is now, all that you see on the news and on X is the wild ramblings of a dementia patient coming to grips with death as it breaths its last breaths. its unwise to fight with it. let it die. don’t put it on life support. let it die, it’s the most loving and compassionate thing you can do.
the things, and abilities and gifts, I have placed in you, use them to usher in the world that is being born. the Brave new world. because as the old world dies, a new one is being born.
not the new world order. that is a gimic and marketing plan of desperate dying world with dementia.
and I thought about it. this world is exactly desperate dying dementia patient. who screams girls are boys and boys are girls! to which the sane people standing in the hospital room scream back at the patient in the bed, No they are not!!!! that is insane.
then dying dimentia patient screams the Trump is the devil! and the sane people in the room scream no he is not!
the the dying dementia patient screams Disease X and the Vaccine! and the sane people in the room scream oh my God! we are all heatlthy!!!! the dementia patient dying screams pestilence and famin! and the sane people scream no! there is food on the table. there is deer running around outside. I see bees on the flowers outside!
THE DUDE is right,
it is unwise to contend with a dying dementia patient. and the old world as it is now, Is a dying dementia patient. the old already dead, it just doesn’t know it. by engaging with it, we put it on life support.
it’s like you said today George, placing my focus and life force into what is useful in the new world being born. using my time wisely. I let the old world die. I don’t spend hours of my day trying comprehend the wild ramblings of a dying world. I don’t waist my time on nonsense from lunatic mouth pieces of a desperate dying world coming to grips with its end that scream, You will eat ze bugs!
that old world is a fugzi. it’s not real. it’s a mirage. it’s the fading shadow of ashes in the wind.
we prepare and place our efforts into the new world being born.
recently I had some poetic discussions with goD in the mirror. who said to me recently, ya have to have skin in the game.
and I thought, why play the game when I have already won. I don’t need to do anything.
it’s the refrigerator unplugged. on the outside it looks good. but everything is rotting away inside. you can hire a mathematician, a priest, a quantum physicist, a snap on tool truck man and a magician. and have them come out, open the door and scream equations, blessings, quantum theory, lists of tools a mile long and pull rabbits out of hats until they are all blue in the face. Hire teams of experts and use slide rulers with pocket protectors filled with pens.
but unless someone goes over and plugs the damn cord in the wall. everything inside will continue to rot until it is no longer useful.
even then, no amount of knowledge in this world can make all that rotten stuff inside worth or of value.
like THE DUDE said to me, don’t put it on life support. let it die, it’s the most loving and compassionate thing you can do.
and at some point all that rotten stuff will be tossed out. it will be plugged in again to the power source, and new healthy things will be place inside.
You talked about mercury in retrograde recently. oh I’m present but I’m listening.
then today,
“And the portal opening.”
I am currently amazed and in wonder that the coming eclipse begins at the exact moment I stood in that place 4 years ago to the minute, on April 8th 2020. to the minute.
I wonder what will happen. for me, or to me. the timing of such things. not even the sum total of all the computing power of the entire planet including A.I. can schedule something that Grand in occurrence. to the minute. how cool is that?
THE DUDE, ya know? Maker of All Things. so I sit here in my car and wonder, Why would THE DUDE schedule an eclipse 4 years to the minute after the lady who whispered on the wind took me to a place where nobody had stood in thousands of years.
there has to be a reason for it.
pretty wonderful. if ya really think about it.
I don’t think of mercury in retro has anything of value by comparison to an eclipse starting the exact minute to the moment I stood in that sacred place.
the shamman who was there reminded me of that. you know the eclipse stars to the very minute you stepped into the dry well and entered the circle.
how wonderful.
~ We are right on Schedule ~
” THE DUDE said to me, don’t put it on life support. let it die, it’s the most loving and compassionate thing you can do. ”
Andy, THE DUDE actually said that ? On one side of your mouth you praise him and on the other side of your mouth you put down his creation.
So, what is it? Is THE DUDE’s creation good or bad?
Andy… actually the path of totality begins a bit north of the Marquesas in French Polynesia, gets close to a tiny atoll named Penrhyn. Then it wanders nicely across the Pacific, enters Mexico, then makes its way to Texas and beyond. It’s cool you were ‘there’ three years ago, in the exact spot, but not the beginning.
I plan to be on the path about six hundred miles from Tahiti when it passes over. Should result in a 360 degree sunset, stars and planets in a purple sky, and a bonus 3rd magnitude comet.
Sorry you can’t come along, our crew list is filled.
And how about that referral to Elon to save the world? It’s a serious request and I figure you are the man. The other guy I know who had face to face with him turned down a good job offer at SpaceX because he didn’t want to give up his life and family. So he’s out for connection. The DUDE sent me to you. I just want to save the world.
Stiks

Andy. That is a simple and yet profound analysis of our world today. Thank you for sharing.
One thing I learned in all the years I travelled the world is how extreme good and extreme evil can live side by side. I saw it Africa and I saw it in Haiti. I am reminded of a doctor I met in Haiti after the earthquake. He had a pharmacy in the basement of a building that collapsed. He was trapped and could not escape. Through a small opening in the rubble, he proceeded to mix and deliver pharmaceuticals out to those in need while they sent in food and water through the hole for him to survive. He was not rescued for several weeks. When I met him, he was in a makeshift tent hospital amid the ruins and was operating on people on a table that was an old door sitting on top of crude saw horses.
Surely, when the current rot in the refrigerator (like Barbeque, the Haiti gang leader) is cleared out and the DUDE fills it back up, it will be with people like this doctor that will be on the top shelf.
Peace my friend.
The ‘refrigerator story’ is well suited for children, IMHO. Wishing you a safe trip.
Yes, my child like mind now gravitates to simple stories suited for children except the unsuitable trans, DEI and LGBT2plusXYZ stories now in schools. I have tired of the adult bullshit stories peddled daily by our “educated” leaders and MSM. Thanks for the well wishes.
Well said.. AMEN…
Well said, young’un.
However, a point to consider:
“Why would THE DUDE schedule an eclipse 4 years to the minute after the lady who whispered on the wind took me to a place where nobody had stood in thousands of years.”
You are looking in the mirror. This eclipse was scheduled millions of years ago. Astronomers have known to the minute, when it would happen, for the past several hundred years.
Therefore, it was not the eclipse which was scheduled to coincide with your trip to the Circle.
It was your trip, which was arranged to happen, four years before the eclipse.
Why?
When Blackrock now owns more than Microstrategy and you direct your readers to own none its strange. You want to own stocks in a market of made up money printed out of thin air based on nothing but a promise. Come a real problem you own nothing if its in stocks. The blockchain can be stored on a hdd.
Look at the rapid purchases by Blackrock, they’ve caught up to microstategy. I dont need the internet to move bitcoin. I can do it via satellite. NO middleman needed. You call it tulips.

From my first coin at 88$ I was late to the show. The cool thing is we’re still early. On the way here Ive experienced multiple draw downs of 80%. you hold you win. You do your readers a disservice.
Pretty soon bitcoin will be at a price the normal man can’t afford to buy. All the while you’re calling us suckers for wanting a money that is beyond government. We’re still early
Stop being old, in a digital world you need a digital currency. you can buy 25 $ in bitcoin a week. Set it and forget it.
I enjoy your doom stories although I laugh at most of it. The predictions, the failures and time lines that constantly get moved out. I came to you back in your clif high days of the great global water rise event, Naturally it was wrong but as with all predictions if you wait long enough it’ll come true.
Soon bitcoin will be out of your reach and many readers will wished they had at least spent a little and tried, if only I coulda woulda shoulda will be what they say.
Get yourselves a trezor, set up a coinbase account buy a few bucks worth transfer it over to the hard wallet and forget about it or keep listening to Ure buddy
While the US has never CANCELED it’s currency all the European and Asian countries, bar Great Britain HAVE cancelled theirs.
Remember even without a total cancellation of a currency the PHYSICAL EXCHANGE of any physical currency was required by virtually all if not all European countries since 1960, sometimes a couple of times.
The internal conflict I have had wrt Bitcoin is the issue of is it just “Tulips in the Sky” … or is it a Non-Cancelable currency that is beyond the control of individual countries’ central banks?
If the former … then it will eventually be worthless
If it is the later … then it is the ONLY safe haven currently available that is easily transportable and kinda safe from government run wild seizures
While the US has NOT YET cancelled it’s currency (if you have a US bill or coin from 1900 you can still take it into the bank and get it’s face value) the fact that every other country in the world has either 100% defaulted on their currency (all but one other country) or required a currency exchange (ALL the world except for the US) says that the US is GOING to eventually default on IT’S currency too! (got some old Confederate Currency in the attic? It was a real, but worthless, curiosity when I was a kid)
How much longer will the rest of the world put up with the US continuing to borrow $1 trillion dollars every 100 days that it will NEVER PAY BACK?
Why would other countries continue to SHIP THEIR INVESTMENT CAPITAL, that they will NEVER SEE AGAIN, somewhere else versus use it to develop their own countries?
The US’s day of reckoning is coming soon. Maybe that is why those in the swamp are so determined to push World War down our thoats? (destroy EVERYBODY and nobody will notice how we, the US, destroyed our own economic base?)
Interesting intellectual conundrum … of which I have slowly come to the conclusion that Bitcoin, or other cryptos that are numbers limited in their creation, “may” be the only way one can avoid a “savings destruction” as the US currency and banking system go through their collapse.
Note: Banking collapses usually result in widespread “savings dedtruction” by the saver’s class, a destruction which they usually can NOT avoid … with independently owned cryptos might they be able to avoid part of that savings destruction? Remember without the Fed raising the limits on the amounts in accounts they would guarantee/save wrt the two bank failures last year BILLIONS in savings would have been destroyed. BILLIONS! (ie: people would have been better off to hold risky Crypto in other words if that would have happened)
Well said George. And now we segue to another George. We’re ALL George.

im sitting in my car, in wonder and amazement at THE DUDE mighty works, infront of this geyser that erupts every hour on the hour, in soda springs idaho
humming the words to an old hymnal song. spring up oh well, within my soul. spring up oh well and make me whole. spring up o well and give to me……
the timing of such things.
life always finds a way of working things out. ya know?
Andy Have you ever jump from the high platform into the swimming pool there in soda Springs? What rush.
Yeah, that storm came through southern Ohio last night. I watched the lightening coming from the western horizon. Seemed odd the lightening was more like pink balls of light creating pink explosion flashes, rather than what I know as lightening. No streak lightening, wasn’t heat lightening either. – unique.
Got the feeling the “lightening” was pushing the storm across the sky.
The thunder, didn’t sound every time it flashed, but when it did, the sound rumbled for a long duration. Sound bouncing off the hills, I guess. Sometimes, rarely it does that. – just seemed odd.

Folks,
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology has issued a news release. 80% of Ukraine’s populace is online daily up from 72% the year prior.
They’ll be able to keep tabs on next-door neighbor Russia going to the presidential ballot boxes today through Sunday. With last month’s extension of Ukraine martial law until May, the Servant of the People’s mandate previously expiring on March 31 is constitutionally secure until at least December. If ‘Napoleon V’ lately of Paris has his way, Mr. Zelensky will be offering congratulations to the victor of the next US presidential election.
Tomorrow of course is the birthday of the late Prince Imperial, Louis Napoléon, who perished in Zululand fighting for Queen Victoria. His father Napoleon III had been England’s closest ally in the Crimean War disaster against Russia. Descendents of the Zulu opened a self-drive tourist pilgrimage route in 2017. Those who wish may thus follow in the circular footsteps of the past from Durban to the monument of the last Bonaparte fallen at iQweque (tr: ‘in line’).

Folks,
Who and where’s your internet service provider? The “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act” recently passed by the House is available online for your light reading enjoyment.
The Act directly addresses Bytedance, its TikTok subsidiary, and the pair’s other subsidiaries. It also covers future “foreign controlled applications” whose foreign ownership is equal to or greater than 20%. Besides and additionally the President can give 30 days notice to Congress for an application’s placement on the banned list with accompanying a “specific national security concern” (which may be classified).
Banned applications have 180 days to comply. Users are entitled to, but must request, porting of their data. Applications in non-compliance of the legislation are subject to penalties of $5,000 per user per day and hosting services face fines of $500 per user per day.

re: it’s a marathon not a race
Folks,
Yesterday not far from the Marathon finish line of the 1908 London Olympics in White City (named after marble building cladding!), DJ Cuppy heralded Prince William’s entrance to the 25th Anniversary instalment of the Diana Awards with a rousing rendition of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”. The most worthy twenty award winners flown in from around the world were kept waiting for several hours after the official London program had concluded. HRH Prince Harry was to appear by video link from his home in Montecito. London royal reporters expressed reservations that the background around Prince Harry when he finally showed up onscreen did not appear to be of his Montecito home.
Indeed today it turns out that the Prince is carving the ski slope runs at Aspen, Co. in the company of the beau to Mrs. J. Kardashian Sr. Also in the merry party was as of 3 years past the then-world’s youngest billionaire woman following a BlackRock buyout of a dating app. Her Russian-Anglo business partner lately of London had made his first fortune developing apps in Moscow.
A handy rule:
“First, fly the airplane.” Good advice.
Another, related, but more general idea:
“First, Live the Life.” Enjoy.

Yesterday, after press time for this column, the biggest and most complex rocket ever built launched and 3/4 circled the earth, breaking many records and completing perhaps 80% of it’s target objectives. The entire mission was an experiment and engineering proofs of (many) concepts.
Mankind is much wiser for this mission and it was IMHO, a major success. I’m surprised it wasn’t the lead article in this column, though I understand that the main topic is “supposed” to be financial.
Starbase as a community wouldn’t even exist without SpaceX.
Sadly, the MSM focused only on the fact that the ship burned up on re-entry. That was the headline from AP, and others blindly copied it. Regardless, the first ever photos and video of a re-entering rocket were broadcast to the world. For those of us who followed the IFT-3 mission in real time, it was very exciting and a source of pride in American private industry! For some reason, only bad news seems to get published, and even good news is recast as bad news. It’s as though MSM is trying to demoralize people and have us lose faith in our society and nation. For further info on IFT-3, see:

NASA must — on some level — be insanely jelous of Musk and Spacex. “Rockets as tail-landers! Harummph!! ONLY in cheap Sci-Fi. We are the experts, and this cannot be done.”
Ok….
“Harummph!! ONLY in cheap Sci-Fi. We are the experts, and this cannot be done.”
To which Elon Musk says, “Hold my beer and watch this!”
ROFL!
China recently declined a substantial shipment of American wheat totaling 264,000 tons. This rejection came on the heels of China turning away additional shipments exceeding 500,000 tons in total weight just days earlier. While China has occasionally rejected American grain in the past, the scale of these refusals is unprecedented.
China’s real need for wheat has not diminished., it has grown., but this shift in buying U.S. wheat is because of China buying their wheat from Russia.
Given the ‘unfriendly’ stance of the U.S. towards China, Beijing sees no reason to continue purchasing grain from America, which was in the billions of dollars per year., opting instead for Russian supplies.
Anticipation of further agricultural products being rejected by China is mounting.
The US exporters have a history of shipping their WORST silo stored wheat to China, wheat that most other countries in the world would reject, so it is difficult from the outside to determine if it was political … OR was a rejection of truly substandard wheat that could not legally be used for human consumption in the US.
The US Grain Companies have a history of “manipulating” the markets, particularly the export markets, so I wouldn’t put anything past them in trying to “clean out” their old elevator stock and trying to dump it on China.
That is an interesting thought.
that is also probably why the Chinese started buying up out elevators and grain export companies along with food processing plants.
d’Lynn,
The wheat refusal by China offers food for thought. As chance would have it, a slogan of TikTok – otherwise known as Douyin or ‘shaking sound’ in China – is “trend starts here”.
Could they possibly know that perhaps these are some of the first crops injected with MRNA and are literally killer crops? Just thinkin out loud…
Yet again, another instance of our getting involved in stupid international fights that are totally unnecessary, with serious and probably ramifying consequences here at home. We can be good neighbors without losing our assertiveness and while still standing our ground.
George Washington and many others warned about this.
Marchetti (imo) missed the “Next Wave” wrt transportation … and also peaked roads and aviation too early.
One glaring issue is with his “Roads”, he peaked that WAY too early. He missed, or dismissed, the entire build out of the European road system after WW2 (1950-1975ish), the US building out of it’s road system with it’s Interstates and improved Federal Highways (1950 – 1970’s), the extensive road development in the old Eastern Block including Russia (1990 – 2020), and the construction from near no road system to an extensive system throughout China (1985-2020).
With aviation he also peaked that transportation dynamice way too early. Worldwide aviation continued to grow gang busters after 2002, not just in numbers traveled, but in places served and in many more interconections between various places served (more route spagetti). Peak was probably about 2020 just as Covid hit.
Canals he imo hit dead on for both Europe and the US. In the US most of the canals that were built were in the eastern part of the Middle West. Ohio was covered with canals, since it is basically flat, and there were also a number in the flatter parts of (northern) Indiana, (northern) Illinois and (extreme western) Pennsylvania too. In the US new canals continued to be built into the mid /late 1830’s. It is because of those early canals as to why so much early heavy industry in the US was built up and then concentrated in that area from Pittsburgh across Ohio, northern Indiana and northern Illinois even before the Railroads were built – those areas had excellent, CHEAP for it’s time, water transportation access (Great Lakes to the North, Ohio River to the South, Mississippi River to the West, and extensive canals across the entire middle which both connected the Great Lakes and the Ohio River/Mississippi river system in several places but also went east and west across the middle)
Railroads networks probably peaked in the 1910+- period versus his 1891 since NEW extensive rail connections continued to be built in Europe (including in Russia), the Colonial areas including China /India /Africa, and the US up to WW 1’s outbreak.
The “next” wave wrt transportation (imo) isn’t mag lev trains … but high speed trains, which Europe has been on a tear to build for the last 40 years, China has also been on a tear to build those for the last 30 years (China’s are MUCH faster than Europe’s), but which the rest of the world including the US have yet to barely begin.
China’s new train system regularly has trains the run at 210mph that are NOT mag lev trains. The Beijing -Shanghi train for example runs at 217+- mph for vitually it’s entire distance of 819 miles, 4:24 station start to station stop (10 times a day each way)
fwiw midtown NYC to midtown Chicago is LESS distance at 794 miles (driving). Imagine if you could get on a train in mid town Manhatten and be in downtown Chicago in 4:10!! NO need to spend time to get to/from the airport at either end, wait around in airport etc.. Just the elimination of that 45 minute trip hassle from mid town to the airport at EACH end of that trip would probably shift most people to doing it by train.
China DOES have one commercial mag lev train line, only one in the world, which serves the Shanahai airport from downtown, about 30km, which goes as fast as 260 mph but that is not much faster than China’s regular high speed trains and they have not built any more mag lev lines.
Stock sold down today on high volume as $5.3 trillion dollars in options expired. Not quite a record., but pretty close.
The effect of such a large triple-witching will probably take ’til Monday to settle out.
.
I am not holding any options over the weekend. The overall picture is a little fuzzy and any news – good, or bad could easily move the market – no fundamentals required.

U.S. gun makers like their 500k+ sales to Mexican Cartels, as there is only one gun store in Mexico, (Mexico has strict gun control laws), U.S. gun manufacturers being sued by Mexico:

“Mass Casualty Incident declared after a catastrophic tornado went through across multiple towns in Ohio and Indiana. Hat tip to Reader Ray for his Comments report on this.”
As I said yesterday the funnel was large. I didn’t mention it here, but I told locals that the twister was an EF-3. Indiana neither confirmed that the cause of the issue was a tornado, nor estimated its power, until NWS personnel waltzed in to absolve the State from political fallout by the local RTV talkers. (I’m an “Advanced” spotter and have been along when SPC/NWS estimated tornadic power, but I’m not qualified to give an accurate opinion.) Also, it’s hard, telling somebody the storm that picked up their house and set it down hundreds of feet away was “only” a mediocre “EF-3.” Until folks personally see the stuff these storms can do, it is impossible to convey the amount of damage they cause.
Changed my mind regarding the Winchester tornado. It was a single storm. I had been told the Taco Bell was on Route 32 and I knew the Wal-Mart was several hundred yards south of 32. I’ve seen a “rope” tornado jump 80 yards either side of its path, but not a fat, thick tornado like this one was. The Taco Bell was either in the Wal-Mart’s front yard or across the street from its access road, ergo, no second storm required.
Took the day off today, to see if I could help out. I may do the same, tomorrow. Really good, nice people, and IMO like Joplin, by the time FEMA arrives to lend a hand, the job will already be done…
“AI is racist, or the programmers are woke-screwed: Adobe ‘Firefly’ AI Tool Accused of Rewriting Racial History.”
There is a reason I mentioned several years ago, that I was collecting pre-1960 history books. At the time I feared DIE rewrites, but a rewrite done by polluted AI yields the same result as Divisiveness, Inequity, and Exclusion. It just does it much faster…
“But hubris is unbounded (and unfounded, now that I think about it) as the Schemer in chief tells Israel what to do: Schumer calls for new elections in Israel, saying Netanyahu is an obstacle to peace.”
Fixed that for you:
Netanyahu calls for new elections in New York, saying Schumer is an obstacle to peace.
Bebe has to grovel for money and support for Israel, so this wouldn’t happen.
‘Tis a shame.
Replacing Schemer would be of great benefit to the U.S…
“The time required to keep Urban going – about 5-hours per day – when site revenue is about $13 a day, works out to $2.60 an hour”
I suggest you get an mp3 portable recorder (college lecture notating aid) and just dictate while you work. Read it in to your computer, transfer to a word processor which has a spellchecker, then c/p your disjointed ideas into a contiguous whole, spellcheck, and compress your time by effortlessly multitasking your US column…
BTW, George, here’s another “100 year” keyboard option — one you can buy new:

Ray’s story yesterday of tornado chasing brought back childhood terrors of growing up in tornado country. Friday a friend and I took the Titan truck for a shakedown cruise after I had it all checked out and cleaned up from the car lot. Our Costco warehouse is in Kona on the other side of the island, about a 90 mile trip one way from the Volcano Ranch. Fifty miles of that is the ‘Saddle Road’ that goes up 6800 ft ASL between the mountains and back down. Back in the day it was a twisting, winding, lumpy road that was life-threatening at 35 mph. Several decades ago, thanks to Sen. Dan Inouye, it was upgraded to federal standards as a 60 mph highway to reach Bradshaw Army Airfield and Pohakuloa Training area up in the saddle. But it is still challenging for a drive, up into the clouds, ground fog, and tropical rain that builds on the Hilo side of the mountain. Doing it in a standard transmission little 4-cyl truck with an arthritic hip joint on my clutch foot was anything but enjoyable! That’s why I got the Titan. How nice to have comfortable leather seats and a big V8 with automatic transmission to drive that 3-ton ‘Titanic’… with a big crash bar bumper on the front end. Saddle road on the Hilo side is the most accident -prone stretch of highway on the island due to the chronic poor weather. At least now I will be the ‘winner’ in any crash except with a tractor-trailer, and those drivers are damn good that ply that road daily. I guess 15 mpg is worth it. Gas is cheapest over at Costco, $4.87/gal. After a good lunch and dropping $500 for groceries and supplies… and coffee… it was back up and over the mountain and down into the foggy mists and back to the ranch. ’Twas a long day, and tonight my hip aches… mainly from sitting for so long instead of ‘clutching’. I’m waiting for the Tylenol and Ibuprofen to kick in.
