Part of the market wants to jump in the crapper today (NASDAQ) and part is still playing pretend (DJIA). But the real wager going on comes down to “How right is Ray Dalio?”
Yet the happy-talk choir continues to sing: Elon Musk Reacts After Ray Dalio Warns Of US Decline.
For us, it all comes down to a short discussion paper on the Peoplenomics side of the house tomorrow. Where we ask – in sequence – of our AI stack: Is inflation a sustainable form of “synthetic growth” (and of course not, but how long could it roll?). And then, once that fails, isn’t there a business model for government in the growth of sequential crises?
Yeah Baby! It’s all such a Klaus Mini-Me kind of outcome, ain’t it?
In Old Man fashion, we are blowing most of it off as “transient bullshit that’s not worth the time.” Because breathing is still free, for as long as it lasts.
In terms of comparative wave counts (and why Dalio is likely to be right about the ultimate outcome, which is why he’s a billionaire and you and I aren’t) our back of the envelope says we are about here and looking to these old eyes like an approaching end of the Wave 2 rally will lead to the ugliest year since 1929. But, no hurry – it will be here when it gets here.
Two Views of Future
Two ways we can look at things. Elliott waves and counts along with trend channels can be seen like this using our Aggregated markets index:
The second chart is even more troubling because really smart guys (like Dalio) auto-think charts and graphics in their heads. Maybe he sees something like this?
Maybe this is all wrong, but the timing of the present crypto rage is so coincidental, I can’t stand it.
“Charles Ponzi began his scheme in 1920. He was operating in Boston at the time and claimed to be able to double investors’ money in 90 days by buying and selling international postal reply coupons. The scheme ultimately collapsed after just seven months, as explained by Wikipedia, but not before he collected over $8 million from about 30,000 investors.”
And so, boys and girls, it took about 9.5 years to get from Ponzi Launch to the Great Depression onset.
As an old man, therefore, when I remember that Bitcoin began in 2009, part of me wants to think “The Collapse window is already closed on the Ponzi replay idea!” OTOH, though, we did have a fugly pandemic come along. And then Wall Street bought in. And we begin wondering (sincer the 1918 Spanish Flu and Ponzi could be viewed as temporally reversed with the Covid mess and then BTC getting traction…
Maybe Dalio is looking at the 10-years from Spanish Flu to Market Top back then and wondering about how soon the blow-over will happen on this timing marker?
Re-Retirement
I am going to write shorter columns. And take a day off once in a while, unannounced.

Old Man Investments
Easy game to play with the kids over the upcoming holiday weekend: “If you could buy ANYTHING TODAY that you were certain would have higher value in 5, 10, or 15 YEARS, what would it be?”
- I don’t think prime rib dinners will get cheaper.
- I don’t think electricity will get cheaper.
- I don’t think water bills will go down.
- I think a good trade – like an HVAC tech in a hot climate, or a firefighter/medic in any Big City will still be in demand…
- I still don’t want to sleep outside in the rain, so a home owned outright makes sense…
That’s how you invest for the Future. The rest of the “question cards” (like “When will the number of gay people exceed the number of straight people?” And “Who will be MOST Special in 5-years?“) are there for those with no concept of how math and multiplication work.
Walk With Me
We got more stupid stories than Carter had little liver pills.
Where to begin is always the hard part. Let’s go with Curtain #2: Trump Admin Charges Democrat After ICE Scrum at Newark Detention Center. Good. Even lawmakers aren’t above the law, are they? Unless they are (fill in the blanks yourself…you shouldn’t need coaching.)
Another Lefty pity-party will be held because? US Supreme Court lets Trump end deportation protection for Venezuelans, So, lemme see if I got this right: Joe (who wasn’t really all there) Biden makes up a class of Special People and his successor can’t undo it? That’s what this is about: Unwinding a ball of twine the dems have been rolling for decades…
Still, leftists ruling from the bench continues unabated: Judge Rules DOGE, Trump Admin Gutting U.S. Institute of Peace ‘Unlawful’. I love it when judges make up laws to suit a guerrilla movement, dont’ you?
Life’s a Gas! A year ago gas was $3.59. Triple A says today it’s $3.177.
Jim the Bookseller? Comey was interrogated by the Secret Service after threatening Trump’s life. But Comey’s got books to sell — so he’s breaking his silence and blaming… his wife! Does this make him a “responsibility abuser?”
And did you see where Alan Dershowitz says news outlets could sue over lost ad revenues due to federally funded censorship? Like where our Google revenue dropped?
And the WHO is in tough financial straits: WHO on Brink of Collapse, Admits It May Never Recover After Major U.S. Funding Withdrawal. Gee, who (whom?) under color of law will tell us we HAVE to roll our sleeves up for the next pandemic killshot?
Around the Ranch: Real-ID in Comments Here?
I love the Comments section of this site better’n my own columns, most days. Readers like Ray, D’Lynn, LOOB, and BIC (Bob in Canada) and even Len down under make incredibly useful remarks and share tons of knowledge.
Over time, readers get a sense to “who they are.”
But, there are a few readers who use a different posting name every time they post and it makes it hard for regular readers who have to tie up headspace figuring out who made the comment.
SO… I am thinking about a policy where people can choose any moniker they want – but not more than 2 per customer. One of our readers (who offers a lot) does so under more names than you’ll find in a small town phone book.
Why?
We don’t have many “policies” around here, other than the ones I make up on the fly, but this one seems like we need it. Not to limit the comments from a few posters, but to allow people when scanning to know (from their previous posts) if they need to stop and consider the views offered.
Multiple names are a kind of “reader manipulation” and I think when you “mount the pulpit here” to preach a particular view, that it would be useful to others to know who’s making the point.
Let me know what you think of this idea…for now using any name you want, but realizing in our internal tracking it all comes back to your source IP address. We therefore know (with a great deal of specificity) who is the most schizophrenic amongst us…
(Oh, look! The “possibly non-inclusive language” flag went up from the word police plug-in! Tell me this ain’t progress?)
Write when you (or your pseudonym or preferred pronoun) gets rich… but only if they share the wealth… We’re all gonna have ankle callouses before this is over.
George@Ure.net
Cut back on work and take unannounced days off. Like the two fellas on Jib Jab ads say, “Brilliant!” Look at it this way. If your truly doing something you enjoy why the heck would you want to stop. So do it.
Admittedly, The past year I have cut my on line time way back and it has done wonders for me, my BP, overall general grouchy old asshole attitude and most importantly my beautiful young wife. I only stop by once or twice a week over morning coffee anymore and I will always go straight to the comments. As far as your policy idea well, first off it’s your house so your rules, if someone doesn’t like it they can GFY. Second, I personally can’t see anything wrong with the idea. Makes sense if your gonna say it, own it.
Stay safe 73
Guilty!
I’ve different pseudonyms. Since I’m older than Ure as well as the current and all living former US presidents, I’ll stick with this one.
Random days off. Good for you. Snuggle in with the wife, take a beach day or a couple days, go out for breakfast. Enjoy life without worrying about us.
The poster with different names always sounds the same, so no real difference. The names tend to be a joking reference to his comments.
I agree with Eleanor! There are some posters, including the unnamed one, that have particular styles that are evident in a sentence or two. It’s interesting that I may be challenged to recognize a face, but I can recognize a style. Even Edward Snowden was aware of that. Styles are so characteristic that it’s often possible to recognize even AI styles, perhaps even the particular AI engine involved.
Enjoy your re-retirement, even if it means I’ll have to do real work instead of fully waking up reading these columns, and of course, their comments. I’d say you’ve more than earned it!
Yeah, and he preaches the Bitcoin too. That can’t be all bad.
I agree… it’s always the Nazi of Bitcoin fame. Quite recognizable by his style and language. But Ure can implement the policy he wants. But most of us here didn’t just fall off the turnip wagon, and we know who’s who.
George, give us a number ID that precedes/coincides our moniker. that is something I wish was here for Quite some time,,, like NIKE
Just Do It !
prisoner ID number with post office photo would be awesome,,, but my mug shot is from 18yrs of age, so it might be out of date
still drink from my Trump mug shot coffee mug
demoncrat coffee ‘mug’ cups should be hitting the market,,, sooooon
it is a ‘tell’ when we write, we usually repeat our style,,, like this,,,
it is another ,,, Zippty do dah day
hows the shooting bench cover going? got any PEDO target silhouettes? now, as the UNinvited guests from other locations are leaving, some on their own, before they get ICEd,,, border crossing are way way way down,,, slo joe wanted CONgress to pass bills to stop the flow/invasion, but Trump did it without the CONs
What Eleanor said;
“The poster with different names always sounds the same, so no real difference. The names tend to be a joking reference to his comments.”
– No big deal.., do what you think is right.
If you thoroughly enjoy what you do – why would you want to stop ?
Off to the pistol range this morning…, see ya later.
““synthetic growth” (and of course not, but how long could it roll”
Not sure if it’s enlightenment or perspective. Last Saturday I listened to Art Bell Somewhere in Time from 1996 and they were discussing a 1997 economic collapse. The justification for the 1997 economic collapse was Rubin had collateralized everything he could and there was no way the U.S. would be able to roll the debt. The end of the line, buy Swiss Francs and numismatic gold coins. They got it wrong. And how many times have we heard ‘can’t roll the debt again’. and the other stuff. One more….
he warns every other day it seems …. and the market keeps going up (i.e. its NOT crashing) ……. what’s that tell you … LOL
the con game is active as ever folks … good luck all

I do not use different monikers, but you could see some wanting more privacy. I understand their IP may not be so private to you, though people wanting that level of anonymity likely are also using VPN or apple proxy. It was just a few years ago, where if you expressed any opinion that deviated from the allowed thoughts people would seek you out, trying to find anything you ever wrote since childhood and then attempt to get you fired and de-platformed. So you can appreciate some folks, especially if they have “different” opinions, trying to make life more difficult for others to tie them directly to some postings. I was de-platformed from a technology site that offered article comments for pointing out that men and women are physically different.
My God! Are you sure about that M/F thing? It might be time to write an academic article and get it published in Nature! People would be shocked!
Regarding IP’s: I occasionally post from different locations and different ISP’s, and am exploring a new ISP for myself, so my IP address could be all over the place, though my screen name and email on this site remains the same.
I stopped producing 5 count fingerprint cards years ago.(instead) Please provide your online identity and email address……..notwithstanding prints are digital now too. LOL. Grok on all that for awhile lol.
“I am going to write shorter columns. And take a day off once in a while, unannounced”
Weird. Is it Groundhog Day? Again this year?
Sure George. Let’s [not] see it …
Old journo sickness.
Me? The web-name Egor was a simple throw-a-way tag which stuck. Several of E2’s friends call me Egor. So, I’ll just stick with the one handle regardless your decision George. It is George really, right?
Online anonymity seems worth it IMO. It’s my belief doing a handful of easy things makes sense. Orwell worried about Big Brother. Who’d a thunk mankind would instead volunteer their info?
Sadly, with anonymity comes a sometimes caustic bent, in some posters. It’s been somewhat of a fascination reading things no one would say to another and … it lives in potential perpetuity online.
I’m still busy quitting things. Trying to stay low today to avoid being tasked with to-dos. Bought a tank of gasoline (I’ll burn two full tanks on Thursday). It’s chill here, on the edge of building a fire.
Have a fine day.
StillEgor
A tank of gasoline will be a hell of a fire starter – you are going to film it, right?
I vote yes on the name limitations.
I think if you have a thought, don’t be ashamed of it, put your name behind it.
Also, you were the one hat several years ago turned us on to the existence of random name/personality generators used in Newspaper blogs, to (1) make it look like readership was higher than it was and (2) to make conservative views feel outnumbered and unpopular.
I always fall back to the biblical description of whatever I see going on around me. In this case the comparison is the “inclusive church” verses the “narrow reading church”, the broad gate, wide way, verses the straight gate, narrow way. When anyone tells me “You’re a cult, no one agrees with you, you’re not popular” then I usually know I am on to something. It islways amazes me how many churches in the South have so play on the Broad Way or Wide Gate in the name on their signs.
The name generators worked so well that all the conservatives quit reading and cancelled their subscriptions, so now all we get is an online “newspaper” that is mostly SPORTS!! and their unread ultralib opinions.
Also, you as moderator have ultimate control, and can limit the DNI number to only two Names a day, and cut off posting beyond that, but then you are doing what the big blogs do for the government. So best way is to tell everyone to pick a name and stick with it.
(ure bows – well said…)
My comments are under my pen name, A.G. Kimbrough. It’s not to disguise myself, it’s just a crude marketing ploy.
You’ve earned a break any time you need one, so just say hello and leave it open for comments.
Thanks for providing an outpost of sanity. That is the one thing on the web that I look forward to each day.
Actually, I do too…but there’s a couple of four-day workweeks ahead instead of the usual 7’s because I just have to built this nerw scalar antenna dealy….
So… you will be posting in ‘scalar’ on those days off?
And I’m really me, and I really live on an active volcano. I don’t see that changing in this lifetime.
GEORGE. on or off the record, your choice. I have been a LONG-time reader and subscriber. So, today’s issues got me thinking since my job here on earth is observation and my human time left is now in short supply. Leaving a Comment now makes sense. YES! you are Being observed. Be Well my Friend.
Gosh, I wish you hadn’t said your “human time is now in short supply” – I will worry about you (I lose more readers to old age anymore than any form of disagreement on principles…I’d rather all my readers lived an extra 10-20 years and wouldn’t drop hints about leaving…
don t feel bad—- everyone gets a chance. At 81, my treasured wife and I have eleven widows in our life that like to be noticed so we ve tried to keep ,at least ,a phone tag. Occasional lunches with a mix and match are really appreciated! The best of luck!
Yesterday I listened to a discussion between Dr. Michael Roizen (foremost anti-aging guru) and Dr. Robert Redfield (former director of the CDC). If you believe them, those extra 10-20 years are within reach of many, many more people than are currently expecting them. I’ll post bits and pieces from the conference as I review the transcripts, but the most immediate news (at least to me) is that Redfield acknowledged mistakes in vaccine policy and is now suggesting a just approved non-mRNA covid vaccine (NOVAVAX) for those over 60 and those for whom a covid infection would be a serious risk. He said the past vaccines have been shown to prevent serious consequences from the disease but not to prevent infections. He further explained that he runs a clinic for long covid and has seen many cases of vaccine injuries. I certainly will not get another mRNA vaccine given the availability of Novavax.
By the way, according to Redfield the next pandemic is likely to be bird flu which is working hard at mutating to become human to human transmissible; current stats on humans who have contracted it from birds and animals are 40 to 60% mortality.
I had COVID. I cured myself in 24 hours with Ivermectin & Zinc. So now I have that ‘natural immunity’ the pharma people ignore. I will go for well-researched alternatives before I will ever trust another pharma shot.
George, I have been reading your daily writings since the inception of Urban survival. 20 some years I think. Taking a little time off or a reduced schedule is certainly understandable. I arose from bed at 9 AM this morning, Everything was still here on the web waiting for me. Best to you and Elaine! Jim in AZ.
Thanks Jim, ‘preciate it.
My friends (who probably never hear of Urban) know who Stiks is. Ever since that morning after hard yoga in the library park on the Lahaina waterfront, when this little fat kid yelled out, “”HEY! STIKS!” Because i was 6’4″ and 165 and strong. Been Stiks to so many since 1976.
Had a long time biz partner who loved the herb, so those close to us both of course called us Stiks and Stones.
Now I am in a place where almost no one knew me before so I am just ________, that older fella with the odd boat, the one who plays the gut bucket with the local partiers.
No need to hide here. George stops by daily (now with Starlink) and i would only wish he can do whatever the hell he wants, but my suggestion is to get floating more often. He knows how good it is for the soul.
And the rest of you? I love you all.
Stiks
George,
You are the Moderator with the Most. Your stories and life experiences that you have shared with us are to be treasured. Thank you very much. Please do take days off when you wish so you can enjoy life with Lady E and get your yard and inside tasks completed without worrying about us out here. We all think you are amazing and thank you for all you do.
I second that emotion!
re: coinkydoinks
Folks,
As chance would have it, the media link in today’s “Urbansurvival” regarding news outlets’ legal action for lost ad revenue is led by the journalist who allegedly spearheaded the Burisma-Biden story during the #45 Administration. Additionally, the esteemed lawyer quoted in today’s article saw many past lines of print devoted to allegations of his impropriety with respect to an allegedly trafficked minor under tutelage of the late owner of Little St. James Island. In fairness of mention, the latter complainant did subsequently reach an agreement with the lawyer that she was mistaken in her claims. As chance would have it, the young lady departed this realm some weeks ago.
George. There are a lot of wise and experienced people on this site and I learn from them. Using several different monickers and a lot of slang doesn’t fool us and most often we just skip over those comments.
At this late stage of life I have learned not to waste time. It is too short now. I have always believed that if you want to learn what war is like, listen to a front line soldier. It is easy to have an opinion about something you have never experienced. I remember when I returned from my first trip to Africa and saw kids dying of polluted drinking water, someone asked me “why don’t they just move?
On this site, when I want to be educated about something I know nothing about, here is my go to.
Poker and life.. d’Lynn
Living beside an active volcano…. Hank
Osteoarthritis of the hands…..Eleanor
Desperate poverty and recovery….LOOB
And on and on with many others
Likewise, If I want to learn what it is like to be a caregiver of a life partner at the end, I know several on this site who have been there or are there.I listen and learn when they share their experiences.
I used to enjoy hearing from @choices. He was the only one who I knew for sure to be older than me, in his 90’s. Great life experiences. Haven’t heard from him for in a while and hope he hasn’t gone on to that great rollator in the sky.
We all want you to continue this site. For many, it is our first and only visit to a worthwhile chat site each day. Take care of yourself.
I’m honored – I may have to figure out a way to enhance the chat functionality
Well if LOOB can do fake crab cake Rangoon, I will at least call it what it is… steamed fish cake, or ‘Kamaboko’ in a pink roll
Kamaboko Dip
1 roll of Kamaboko, shredded
1/2 cup Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup Mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
4 oz water chestnuts, chopped
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/4 t. ‘Dashi’ soup base, (Bonito or Shrimp flavor)
Refrigerate overnight
Serve with Ritz crackers or corn chips. Island Party dip!
“I am going to write shorter columns. And take a day off once in a while, unannounced.”
Is there some kind of patch you could wear, or maybe gum that would help?
We are already in a two tier economy. The upper tier has a net positive balance sheet, and is getting by.
The lower tier are either dead broke, or debt slaves, with balance sheets which don’t match their outward lifestyles.
I spend more time listening to stories of people who are attempting to work their way out of debt. Many of them have roadable homes, but they still own their home. I tend to measure someone’s real economic class by whether they own a cash home and vehicle, regardless of how modest. The big shots with million dollar net debts are just disasters waiting to happen. Inflation and runaway government expansion (and public education) is starting to put pressure on that view; I hear people who should be OK getting into trouble. I will continue to work past full retirement age, if allowed to.
I agree with n___. Lucky you are able to work past full retirement age. That was my plan also. Then my employer sold the business to a strip & flip outfit and I was ‘downsized’ at age 63. I barely squeeked by, but managed to buy my cash home and have a paid for vehicle. That’s how I wound up on the slopes of an active volcano… cheap property! Not all that bad, though, and it supplies an amazing amount of self-sufficiency in water and food.
My best friend in the big city of Honolulu has a status-seeking foreign born wife. He was a union bus driver that wanted to retire at age 62. Wife wouldn’t let him. She wanted a bigger ‘retirement’ condo in the city so he kept working until they could afford the payments on his retirement. So on paper he is a millionaire net worth… as long as he keeps up payments on the condo. And there’s not much left over for the necessities of a big city life. I do not envy him. He enjoys visiting my ‘country life’ when the wife is away. God help him if the pension fails… or the supply ships stop coming in.
I am eligible to apply for full SS, but the age 70- 25% monthly bump is too good to walk away from voluntarily.` Can’t see me working past 72. I have noticed some of the talking head retirement counselors are starting to recommend this route. If you die earlier than the actuarial tables predict, it’s not like you are going to lose some sort of bragging rights in the hereafter. And for now, the earned income is still coming in. Working from home makes it more tolerable than commuting, but not this week.
Debt slavery makes for a less than ideal retirement.
George, Certainly take some time off but maybe post a “gone fishing” sign so your loyal fans don’t worry about you or web gremlins. I (and many others) find this place to be a combination of and better than both a neighborhood bar and a graduate seminar.
As for multiple aliases, not a big deal but I do appreciate not having to play guessing games. I read most of the regulars but there are a few I suspect miss their meds from time to time; it would be nice not to have to spend even a few seconds with the word salads or QAnon parrots.
Twice in the past two weeks I have read that there is correlation between the Federal Unemployment numbers and the stock market. Both stated, in a round-about way, that it can be used as an ‘indicator’ for future market activity.
A serious and sudden spike in unemployment would have an immediate effect on the markets in general, yes. No real brain power required there – but we would have already seen the lead-up to all the jobs lost. Serious doubts abound as this being a market indicator.
I went to A.I. and asked it to build me a line chart.., using S&P500 market data going back to 1970 [ just before the decoupling from the gold standard. ] and overlay the Federal Unemployment numbers for those same dates, in red.
I have played with this chart for three days now., using all the standard charting methods, tricks and theories. ., and a couple of my own math-models.
I can find nothing usable as market indicator for future trading activity. It may exists, but just not in the way I view the markets and my ‘style’ of trading. I just don’t ‘see’ it. I’ll keep playing with it.., in my down-time.., but for now, for me, it’s a “No Go”.
berkshire hathaway sold 3.2 billion of . citi , jp mor , bank of a and wells fargo
Those are some pretty heavy hitters. Banking crisis being foretold?
I’ll do some digging.
Since Trump can order Big Pharama to eat the costs why can’t Big Retail eat the costs? Price controls – hell, yea!
Walmart responds to Trump’s directive to ‘eat the tariffs’
Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington said. “We’ll keep prices as low as we can for as long as we can given the reality of small retail margins.”
They never exit the business so boo-who.
Eat the peas!
What Trump could do if he’s serious about trying to make companies ‘eat’ tariff price hikes
“”I’ll be watching,” he told Walmart (WMT), with harsh words also directed toward Amazon (AMZN), Ford (F), and Mattel (MAT).”
“Other options for Trump stretch back much further, notably a Richard Nixon-issued executive order in 1971 that imposed a 90-day freeze on wages and prices during that inflation crisis.”
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/what-trump-could-do-if-hes-serious-about-trying-to-make-companies-eat-tariff-price-hikes-080006662.html
I would wager 2 cents that Walmart junk isn’t being sold cheaper abroad than it is here. Trump’s pharma crackdown was for drugs being sold abroad at a fraction of the US price.
Damn, I am going to have to retire in order to, post more often, more in depth, with deeper convictions, thoughtful eloquent discourse, somewhat witty comments, insightful observations, and true grit, in order to become more relevant in this poster tribe.
I too have been reading George for a long time on PN. it has changed my life and thinking process.
I read Urban with my coffee before heading off to a job I enjoy. I read comments later in the evening, which I also enjoy.
I am just don’t fee I am able to contribute anything meaningful that seems insightful after reading youse guys, in the evening.
From now on I am going with “fly” as my posting handle moving forward. Like Egor, it is a moniker attached to me long ago. The story behind it should come down the road.
I also agree with the
above poster who suggested a post of “Hello ?”. That will work quite well !
Don’t know what the problem is, but my ears are burning and I’m sorry you got problems. Snipe the ones that got nothing but contention but remember you’re fallible and occasionally full of shit or you won’t have my company.
I started bb posting on I don’t remember.com stock market discuss and we got pushed off for not paying enough and then they folded. Reluctantly, I went to ragingbull to follow the moderator who I considered a mentor. It was really lots of raging bullshit with a lot of pump and dump operations and self appointed experts with their own boards. Got into flame wars with teams of scammers on some of those boards with the wit and intellect of 2x4s and had some fun but the value left when chichi(moderator) died.
Clearstation (that’s where I heard about US and GU)was next because I thought having a trading record would cut the bs. Nope; teams of wannabe market manipulators w/multiple aliases doing whatever to protect their narrative. etrade, who ran clearstation shut it down because the bs teams were more sophisticated and ambitious than the cs team.
No, I’ll remain anonymous, no brand to promote, don’t need a known warm fuzzy name before reading, that constrains the writer anyway(I weigh each bag of bs), nom de plume and a gag email is just my final creative touch.
BUTT WEIGHT!, I was tempted to join the meetup Geo called a few years back or knock on Hank in Hawaii’s door when driving the Capt Cook-volcano-Hilo-back loop but I’m an intolerant independent politically and companion is the same except democrat. Sparring is safer at a distance. I’m 6′ tall and ugly but those Hawaiians are touchy. Live and let live, myob, you’re all full of s: I haven’t posted for 3 days and I have 3 copycats that like my style,
Be the saw
BUTT WEIGHT! Bad pun noted, but forgiven. (I resemble that remark!) You would have to push thru Pele & some badass Hawaiians to knock on my door unannounced. Good thing you didn’t. But I’m not all that full of S… at least my eyes are not brown yet. Aloha to you.
I just post with my real initials. I came up with a stylized version long ago that I used to sign things in art class (I got bored a lot), and it sorta stuck.
Call me anything you want, but if it’s early in the morning I won’t see it till lunchtime. I do have one social media account (talked into it by a friend), but only post pictures of plants and really bad puns. These days it shows mostly crap from people I don’t know. Tonight I saw several notices announcing that the earth was, indeed, swinging towards another ice age, in only 11,000 years or so, but we might mess it up with our evil global warming.
During the last ice age, here in Kansas, the average temps were cooler, but with fewer extreme highs and lows. Pretty nice, actually. The only part actually covered with glaciers was where Topeka is now. Really, I don’t see a down side to this.
Sorry, my earlier ice age post was selfish. Of course it would be bad for people to my north. I was just thinking about all that fresh water when it starts melting again.
When my parents in central Minnesota dug a basement for an addition to our farm house, we discovered beautiful white beach sand left from being on the edge of Glacial Lake Grantsburg.
