TL;DR: Just look at the charts and you can see the risk. Beyond the “news noise” we look at “inside people” versus “outside people” and how to manage between.
BREAKING: Tucker Carlson on the Thomas Crooks case is here. Nothing to see here, huh? More lying to congress…you gotta play it. Obstruction seems alive and well.
Two Charts to Study
Chart #1: This is our current Aggregate Index view as of early pre-opening prices today. It is an equal-dollar chart (DJI, S&P, IXIC) that I created in the wake of the 2000 market high. It was designed to unmask total market performance when shills of that era minimized the $5-$7 trillion lost when the Internet Bubble blew up.

As you can see, the Aggregate is in danger of “falling out of bed” and the downside potential is HUGE. For perspective, here’s a look back at when optimism last ran off the rails.
Chart #2: Shows just how huge the risk now may be. Here’s how this market looks compared with 1929.

As you can see, America’s markets kept on rising from the Guilded Age until it all blew over in 1929. We can’t say whether that is the case now, because we don’t offer financial advice. If you can’t take a hint from us rolling totally debt-free, well prepped (and armed) in the woods far from anywhere, you need to spend more time in financial meditation classes!
There are usually 25-40 pages are charts and discussion in the Peoplenomics weekly assessment – which is still available for the same $40/year it has been since 2000.
GovUP, Data Flow Lags
In a “dis-interupted” world (if that’s a word, lol) I would now begin writing about PPI- final demand and Retail Sales.
However, since we have just been through the longest shutdown ever? It’s going to be a while. It’s not like flipping a switch. Federal workers begin returning within a few days, but the data pipelines take longer. Let’s think about this.
Each agency has to clear its reporting backlog—Commerce, Labor, Treasury, and the Fed all restart in stages, verifying figures that have sat useless during the shutdown. Usually, the first week sees payroll and scheduling normalizing, but it can take two to three weeks before the full rhythm of economic releases resumes. Expect revised timetables, out-of-sequence reports, and a few double-dumps of data until everything catches up. For today? No soap. No PPI and no Retail.
But rest assured, the “data dealer” will be along to feed our addiction to fine print and BS.

I keep forgetting to mention a dandy paper that his PubMed this summer on the subjects of Life Reviews:
“Abstract
Near-death experiences (NDEs) are events reported by individuals close to death. This review examines the aftereffects of NDEs based on scientific literature from 2014 to 2024. Positive NDEs often lead to increased spirituality, reduced fear of death, a deeper appreciation of life, and greater compassion. In contrast, negative NDEs, though less common, can cause confusion, emotional distress, and lasting trauma. The subjective interpretation by those who experience an NDE strongly shapes its influencing both personal growth and challenges in social or emotional integration. Health professionals should be trained to support individuals who have had NDEs, recognizing the psychological significance and potential integration difficulties. Additionally, those who have not personally experienced an NDE but are exposed to such testimonies may also gain emotional and spiritual insights. In summary, NDEs are impactful psychological events that warrant informed clinical attention and support to aid individuals in processing and integrating these profound experiences.”

Short version? Seems to be purity of intent and caring for others that matters. When you get to the “life flashed before my eyes” part. Clean hearts get a better ‘end of life’ that the pricks of life. Holding to the greatest good seems to be key.
The Role of Noise: There is a whole chapter in my latest book on Dithering – the controlled use of noise. The paradox? Some people can study (and think) effectively with the radio on. Others need pure and utter silence.
Now the Useful Part: My “Personal Cross” for now… It’s the inside/outside relationship each one of us thinks about.
See, when my “inner Observer” (that which listens to the voice in my head) descends deeply into “book-writing mode” that’s an “extreme adventure inside.” When the shop, yard, studio, exercise take center-stage? There you go with extreme outside adventures.
Slowly this is coming into focus (yeah, even coming up on 77 you can still trip over rules in Life) is that I need to spend about 4-days a week on the “deep inside” works (columns, books, research, trading). The other 3-days a week? Heavy-duty outside my head engaging with the “world going by the ride.”
That old B-school tripe? About work life, family life balance? Yeah…OK..maybe….sort of. But when you are a “mass-indexing human (who sees how “everything connects”) then it’s more personally fixable as an inside/outside problem.
Inside? I’m real smart and I keep adding to the tool set. Outside? Shop’s still a mess and the electronics bench is 14″ deep in projects. Verdict: Time to focus outside for a while now.
Best news of all – ahead of arborist working skills on ShopTalk Sunday this week – is that inside/outside is nice black/white, high-def line to manage on your Observer’s behalf. Something I’m late to learn but eager to focus on.
Good Noise – Bad Noise
The bad first. See: Overnight post from dLynn. Please send prayers and pure intent. Thank you.
The Good? Amazon has this years TurboTax out.
I can hear you think it from here. “OK, George, how do you figure TurboTax being out is “good noise”?”
Don’t be a cow pie. Compared to loss, even if temporarily, of a partner’s Presence? Even paying taxes is a psychological improvement in how the noise is running.
Ahead for the Weekend: Two visits from the power company in a day – and George does arborist training…That’ll be on ShopTalk Sunday. If we all don’t burn up in the atmosphere, first.
Write when you get rich,

Regarding the Epstein file issue it would appear to any intelligent and rational person that all the drama and effort to resist the release of the files smells of a cover up by that disgrace that passes as a President and his band of incompetent yes-men/women. Simple solution: release the files as promised by the Liar-in -Chief. What are News Gumshoe’s unbiased views on that and the 8 wars the L-in-C claims to have stopped and his judgment around remodelling/destruction of the White House?
You do know even left of center media is mentioning the Obama and Clinton links into this mess, too, right?

Check this shit out…
Michael Wolff — the journalist who we just learned was coaching Epstein on how to gain leverage over a presidential candidate — said in an interview that Epstein was growing suspicious that Donald Trump was the one who informed on him and set the stage for when his legal troubles truly began.
Well… Epstein’s legal troubles truly began in March 2005. And Wolff was pointing to a 2004 real estate dispute over a Palm Beach mansion.
? In these newly released emails, we get this line: “the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump…”
That stuck with me… and then VOILA, it clicked!
The phrase “the dog that hasn’t barked” comes from Sherlock Holmes’ story called Silver Blaze. In the story:
—— “The stable had a guard dog. On the night of the crime, the dog did not bark. Which meant — the intruder must have been someone the dog knew. Otherwise, it would’ve barked.”
So… who was redacted in that email? Virginia Giuffre. Whose name democrats redacted.

Epstein wrote he was “75% there” — meaning 75% sure it was Trump as the silent informant, with Giuffre as the likely conduit for the tip-off knowledge.
This email tells me Epstein was trying to find the leak after a British tabloid started exposing his network — and he was emailing associates to hunt down the source.
? THEN, we have Attorney Bradley Edwards — who, in 2009, praised Donald Trump for being the ONLY subpoenaed person to willingly provide helpful information in the
— “Donald Trump was the only person who would pick up the phone…”
— “He gave very good information that checked out and was very helpful.”
? THEN, just a few months ago, we heard Mike Johnson say Trump was an FBI informant trying to take Epstein down. Oopsie…
? Epstein and Maxwell were finally arrested — under the Trump administration.
? In summary…
In Epstein’s own words, the timeline, the motive, the silence, the cooperation, the arrests — everything points to one conclusion:
Donald Trump was the informant who helped take down one of the most prolific pedophile and blackmail operations in history.
A lot of people are gonna owe him an apology when this is done.”

Ghislaine incarcerated on a hoax. ——- tasteless joke redacted.
Horse Feathers …
The Palm Beach Police Dept was hot on Epstein’s trail before that … they were having problems though getting the underage girls to talk “on the record” even though they knew from informal talk what was going on in Palm Beach with Epstein paying underage girls.
You can’t go around picking up and paying financially poor underage girls, some from local Trailer Parks, without people around them, and a number of their school female classmates, knowing what was going on. It was general knowedge among an entire goup of people in some parts of the city in fact.
When trying to build a case, particularly one against a prominant WEALTHY local, the police, if they are smart at all, will go steadily and don’t rush out the gate before they think they have it totally locked down or they will lose and the person will skate free.
Maybe Trump said something, maybe not, but the Palm Beach Police were already on the case because of all of the rumors that were reported to be floating around the local high school.
Women are terrified to testify .. talk to any person that’s seriously abused.. they rarely talk about it..One of the reasons many survivors of abuse remain silent is because abuse reshapes how they see themselves. When the abuser holds power or wealth, the imbalance makes speaking out even harder—fear of retaliation, disbelief, or being dismissed often keeps people quiet. Over time, survivors may internalize the abuse, believing they somehow ‘deserved’ it. But silence is not consent, and it is not weakness—it is survival. The truth is that no one deserves abuse, regardless of status or circumstance. Real strength lies in recognizing dignity, kindness, and how we treat one another, not in money or control. my biggest failures were those I didn’t see in time to lend a hand to..The deepest tragedy of abuse is when it comes from those meant to protect. Children rarely speak directly about what they endure; instead, they show it in gestures—clinging, hesitating, asking to stay. When those signs are overlooked, the silence deepens. Abuse by a defender is not just violence—it is betrayal of trust. Recognizing these signals and standing steadfast for the vulnerable is the responsibility of every adult. No child should ever be left to believe they deserve harm.
As a child, I learned how quickly community divisions can turn into cruelty. When my father’s vote on school consolidation angered a powerful family, their children carried that bitterness into the classroom. I was thrown over a railing while a teacher turned away. The injury left me with lasting pain, but the silence left deeper scars. Years later, I cared for that same teacher in hospice. She confessed nightmares of the boy she didn’t defend. I told her he forgave her long ago.
What I learned is this: silence in the face of harm is complicity, but forgiveness is liberation. The janitor who found me hiding in the basement became my savior. Books and photography became my refuge. And today, I teach my grandchildren that dignity is not in dominance, but in standing steadfast for those who cannot stand for themselves.
I’ve heard of very similar situations regarding local high school rumors and rich guys. They’re generally a target for rumors since they can be newsworthy and/or eccentric. The problem is that some rumors are close to true, some have an element of truth, and others are entirely confabulated. Smart police know this and don’t take anything at face value without hard evidence. I’m not judging Jeffrey Epstein either way – he died innocent of federal crimes, so we’ll probably never know the whole story, but the rumors will continue for probably as long as any of us will live.
High School rumors can be leads, but that’s all.
My how quickly that turned around – about F-ing time!

Geez Dave,
During an argument over Covid vax participation it suddenly dawned on me that neither of us actually KNEW even one factual thing about the issue. Just what we read on the internet or the useless TV.
Not unlike the situation with “information” being shoveled out about Epstein and Trump and now the ex-presidents. Yes, No, maybe so, but YOU will never know. Any and every news you read or see or hear has a built in bias.
It is found out, assayed for its potential to make money or deny money for the reporter (whom relies on it for a paycheck. Then is filtered to expose or shield the subject, then run thru the legal department to avoid prosecution or start one then released to do good or harm to the subject and spun to incite love or hatred or just chaos for the “story”recipients through the media.
My epiphany came as I realized that neither of us knew what the hell we were talking about while taking opposite sides of the issue based on our sources and the bias of the sources combined with our own biases.
Has your insider “elected” official ever called you up to give you the scoop on the kiddee sex issue that is a hot story to smear someone(s) with whether truth, fiction or plain old bulls–t or even who was diddling whom and how old/young the victim was. We won’t be satisfied until we hear our bias being exposed to us over the TV, radio or in print. Then we believe the ‘source’ is on the right side.
What a load of crap. Who do you trust? And why?
No outsiders will KNOW anything first hand and there is NO credibility in media and so we go off yelling, “I told ‘ya so” or grumbling about the lying SOB’s that are covering up to ‘protect’ or destroy the person or event of the day.
And what was investigated is long gone in that round filing cabinet by the desk.. newspaper articles everything vanished in what amounts to as a bolt of lightning.. who can you trust..

If people can’t get their coffee “FIX” at Starbucks for a few days /weeks maybe they will figure out what the other 90% of the “Coffee Drinkers of America” have already figured out … You can get JUST AS GOOD a cup of coffee by making it yourself for 15% of what you pay at Starbucks!!
Females who buy coffee at Starbucks probably are mostly the types that have to drive a “Designer Car”, you know the type of car that costs 2x to 4x what a nice car that does the same stuff in the same amount of luxury but without the Designer Nameplate does! (at least around here the drive up lane for Starbucks is filled with BIG BUDGET vehicles) Just the type of female you Do NOT want to marry!! LOL
AFAIC they can keep walking.
Lazy, overpaid narcissistic brats — who cares?
While their candy beverages are amazing, Starfucks holds the distinction of having basic, “working-man’s coffee” that’s so bad, it can not be made palatable. I tried three times, three different establishments, when my daughter was in High School. She wanted to be a journalism student, the faculty was unaware for the first several weeks of school that she knew her way around an SLR, so she was assigned to do a feature and review of “Starbucks.” I was the taxi driver, and with God as my witness, I thought turke… Oh, wait.
I took her to three. She got candy, I got coffee. She got to taste the coffee before I dumped it out. (I NEVER dump coffee. I used to drink 15-25 cups a day — restaurant coffee, café coffee, diner coffee, truck stop coffee, greasy spoon coffee, and after they came along, convenience store coffee. I drank coffee that’d double for paint remover or rat poison, coffee so thick you could stand your spoon up in it, and a couple times, maybe even dissolve a spoon in it, so I’m not a virgin.) The crap I got from these Seattle strychnine dispensaries was not drinkable — not creamed, or sugared, or honeyed, or sprinkled, (or all of the above) and sure-as-hell not straight.
Let them go bankrupt and be replaced with Cadillac Coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts, or Chock Full o’ Nuts bistros, all of whom sell great coffee for less money…
There is one independent cafe which has good coffee locally that I frequent. Down close into the metro is a small chain of coffee shops which feature Brazilian beans, which I have developed a tolerance for. I prefer African or Columbian beans, but those are not so plentiful any more. I usually drink decaf, which means I end up getting a decaf Americano at a caffeine freak coffee shop.
The Starbucks blond roast has been drinkable, but Dunkin and Mickey D’s typically have better coffee. Mickey D’s senior decaf for breakfast is decent, and is relatively cheap.

here you go Ray… I love to roast my own coffee.. you can use an air popper even to do it..I have a coffee rotisserie basket for my rotisserie.. and shockingly..at Wal-Mart they have a cheap popcorn popper that is a perfect unit for roasting..

just like tat one for under twenty dollars…the wife hates it when I turn the kitchen into grandpas mad scientist lab lol..but I do like good coffee.. second crack..coffee beans pop on the second pop its right where I like it.. you can also pick up green beans at just about any Ethiopian grocery store..I use to get fresh coffee flown in from Hawaii.. it would still be warm when it arrived..my favorite bean is Jamaican blue..dam good and low acid..but expensive.. I ran into a one pound bag once.. life was being a challenge and I thought dam I needed a lift then there it was a one pound bag of Jamaican blue medium roast for five bucks.. I almost cried it was such a high point…life is good moment..
‘Kauai Coffee’ from a single estate on Kauai island is the best. Beats Kona coffee hands down.
Also…Costco.. has their own coffee plantation and their brand of coffee is amazingly good to…the wife likes folders so I buy that for the standard coffee…. You can make a great coffee substitute by roasting roots and grains. Start with dandelion root—wash, chop, dry, and roast until dark and fragrant. Then blend it with roasted barley for nutty sweetness, rye for a darker edge, oats or wheat for smoothness, and chicory root if you want that classic bitter coffee note. Grind them together like coffee beans and brew as usual. Back in the seventies, during the best and worst year of mine I would gather the old used coffee grounds from the restaurant trash.. I think they knew to they would pack them in a plastic bag so they were just coffee grounds then I would dry them in a Coleman camp oven by mixing in old used coffee grounds with other grains and grind them in a cast iron pan and rock I would mix the grain with the old coffee grounds to deepen the flavor and make it during a time of hardship.. its also where I learned I loved home roasted coffee to… The result isn’t just a drink—it’s a reminder that real comfort can be crafted from what the earth freely offers and you can have some of the things that give you a positive quality of life..
In Hilo town there is a ‘Cruizin Coffee’ kiosk in the middle of a large corner parking lot, with two street entrances and serving out of both sides of the shack. Always has a line of at least five cars on each side. They outsell Starbucks just down the street. Their secret? Taken from Hooters, the staff is all female in tight T-shirts. Sex sells. I’m told the coffee is great also, word from the taxi drivers.
Ray … don’t be soft and beat around the bush!! Tell us what you REALLY THINK about Starbucks Coffee.

Here’s the thing. One normally takes an ‘Amusement Ride’ by free choice and usually to have fun. But our Earthy lives are akin to being forced onto a train car (by our parents) before we know what that train car (or a train) is or even who and what we are for that matter. Two people much bigger than we are bought us passage and pushed us through the door and into the car with a bunch of stangers and then control everything about us and our travels for a good number of years until adulthood.
In the meantime we slowly realize that we are riding on ‘something moving’ that is going ‘somewhere’ but no one knows exactly where – or why. If we are wise we begin to ask the Big Life Questions like Who Am I and Why Am I Here and Where Am I Going? Many of us might cling (out of fear or laziness) to pre-existing notions about Life from religions or from ancestral-family-thought-default-momentum. Sadly, many people today no longer even bother to ask Who They Are because social media and State Government and Media programming happily tells Them who they are and what they should be. Even if we avoid such mental and spiritual pollution we still are subject to looking out Dirty Train Windows of our perception during our lives which have been tainted with wrong ideas, propaganda,
mind-warps, and our own fears, insecurities, and other things that cloud our vision through Train’s (Life’s) Viewing Porthole.
When you get on a real train today you have a destination in mind and a timetable for when you’ll get there. On Life’s ‘Thrill Ride’ one may or may not have a destination in mind at all and no guarantee you’ll get there anyway and none of us know how long we’ll get to stay aboard and ride the train. Some people’s ride gets cut tragically way too short. Some stay a bit too long and begin to lose their vitality and cognition.
What is Life more akin to? Someone pushs you on to a space ship and puts you to sleep for the trip. One day they wake you up and dump you off on some Planet you’ve never heard of or seen before with people you don’t know. Then you’re told to go ahead and have a good life! No instruction manual. No road map. Maybe not much supporting structure. Or on the other hand if you’re fortunate, some of each.
That’s why there are so many problems in our World. We are all born ignorant and insecure and fearful and vulnerable. And we spend the rest of our lives trying to learn a few things while trying to feel less afraid and alone and worried that our future will be uncontrollable and chaotic as our past has been.
Life is not so much Amusement Ride as it is shared space on a runaway train. As such, we need to spend less time fighting with each other and more time trying to help each other survive this bumpy ride. And maybe trying to learn a few things about how drive the damn thing.
Life can (and should) be a beautiful and meaningful thing. But these things do not fall down upon us from the sky. We each have to find our own beauty and meaningfulness in the ride. And God willing, have a Ticket Transfer to gain passage to the Next New Train Ride.
Happy Travels…

I am pretty open about my life challenges and how I coped through them.. some fold up and give up.. for a quality of life many think oh if I get the lottery or if I can do this or that..in reality.. you dont have to have the latest new car the glimmer and shine.. quality of life in reality is pretty simple.. its faith, family and friends..the simple gestures ..being able to adapt and overcome..learning how to do something. build it..

Please read “Deep in the Fourth Turning: The Darkest Hours are before the Dawn” on Zero Hedge. I have been a very interested reader of the Fourth Turning Books, which I highly recommend. The article is a long one but very worth reading. Thank you.
Ongoing prayers and sympathy for Mrs D Lynn, D Lynn and family.
May she have a fast and complete recovery.
