It would be audacious – but is there some player who would “kick America when she’s down?”In our “worst cases” department, some scenarios that could be lurking out of sight – and out of mind – until next week,  That’s when markets could get down to an approachable “bounce” level.

But from there?  The old saying is “Crashes don’t come at market tops – they come at lows – major support.  It’s when those fail that the future can shift in dramatic and unpredictable ways. We arrive there next week.

Of course that’s our 20 some pages of charts – and to be honest, hard telling at this stage, which presents the scariest future potential.

    Nation states can get complicated.

    Are we sure the U.S and China aren’t cooperating with tariffs to keep $ credit expansion going? The TikTok controversy has been going on for a couple of years now. Is the controversy a gimmick or nation state cooperation in plain sight?

    Iran is another. For years now Iran has been ‘weeks away’. Either we’ve been lied and there’s cooperation or Iran has a super arsenal built-up by now.

    They lied about the drones. Mass deportations was a marketing gimmick. Epstein? Name your fav.

  7. “Margin Call Fever”

    Lots of fast money market traders caught the dreaded fever this past week. For some as of yet unexplained reason it apparently has hit those who work at various Hedge Funds very hard zeroing in on metro New York City, Connecticut, and Boston though other places have reported outbreaks too.

    It’s symptoms include sweating, unable to sleep at night, and abject unexplained FEAR. The fever is so bad that those affected stop spending money on necessities like new Mercedes, Lamborghinis, and airplanes of every stripe. One local yacht dealer in Newport RI said he hadn’t received a single call from a potential buyer all week for his 70′ and over inventory, and this is his prime selling season.

    Untreated a bad case of “Margin Call Fever” can even lead to the infection and collapse of an entire office filled with people such that the people who work there can never again re-enter that office to work.

    Yes,” Margin Call Fever” can be deadly!

    The treatment of “Margin Call Fever” can be difficult, but has to be done quickly for those who have caught it. The treatment can be painful often causing anguish and a sudden loss of several rows of digits in one’s bank accounts as the treatment is applied. Failure to treat almost always results in D.E.A.T.H. … and that DEATH is sudden! One week everything is beautiful, the kids are in private schools, one is planning the chartering a yacht for a summer vacation, the gardeners are planting the flower gardens for the summer, the pool guy is gettng the pool ready to use … and the next week it is all gone.
    Dead. Died.

    Rumor has it that Monday and Tuesday may see the worst of “Margin Call Fever” roll through metro New York, Connecticut, Boston, and other infected places with a rapidity that is unbelievable. Little sleep will happen this weekend for those stricken with it. it is a true life altering disease.

      Street SPLATS are scored at a higher rate due the difficulty in actually hitting the street and not the sidewalk. Higher degree of difficulty = higher score.

  8. China and Ocean Shipping

    In 1999 China built 5% of the world’s ocean going ships. Today China produces 60% and is trying to increase that percentage.

    For 2020, 2021, 2022, China built 4718 ocean going ships … the US produced 12

    The US currently only has 185 ocean going ships while China has more than 7500 (and China is building another 1800 per year of which 1300+- will remain in the Chinese fleet after construction). Last year China built MORE ships (by tonnage) than the US has built in total since 1945 (80 years)

    our whole infrastructure has been seriously neglected since Truman.The water supply for new York city is in such bad shape alone that it could collapse.. look at our grid..its made for profit not security.. to hand out grid tie systems to every homeowner and building solar towers at every substation to act as a mini grid power plant during a bad storm is not only the cheaper solution its the smarter solution.. but it doesn’t follow the business model and some schmuck making seven digits a year has to have the business model in the weaker state for the country to guarantee he will continue to earn his inflated income… we only do defensive maintenance.. we are the country of war pushing war on co tenants so that a few oligarchs can push their business model..     Congress has no desire to do anything associated with the needs of the people.. No one shows up..no one reads or writes the bills they vote on.. Lets just say from 1921 to the highs of 1924? (3 yrs) …. how many Trillions? Why I am curious is all the talking heads keep saying of all the “Trillions wiped out” … yet I hear no comparison of the Trillions created …… I suspected the pronzi game is far in the positive for the casino owners …. keep up the good work, be safe, be prepared …….

  14. On my previous post – I, in no way meant to disparage the Cheytac rifle system. I have never shot one. From what I have read it is one the best rifles ever made. Up until they came out, I had never heard of the .408 Cheyenne Tactical round. No other rifle uses this ammo. My point of that post was not to malign any particular rifle, or caliber – to each their own – but to bitch-slap the shooter.
    In Vietnam I carried the XM21., so I am quite familiar with the ballistics of the 7.62×51 [ Winchester 308] It is still my favorite rifle round. I am currently working on building an exact replica of the XM21 [ sans the fully auto switch., don’t want to go through all that paper work ! ]
    In the mean time…, my customized AR10 and my Remington Police will serve just fine.

  16. About ten years ago, two bearded guys were observed strolling around on top of the Saugatuck Reservoir’s main storage tank. The tank was very large, maybe 100 feet in diameter, maybe 30 feet high, and ground-mounted.
    Tall tanks on legs are common in the midwest and south, but not much in Connecticut.

    Anyway, a local observant neighbor called the cops. The cops came, called the guys down to the ground, and interviewed them. Seems it was all quite innocent; they were just taking fall foliage photos to send home.

    The CT State police intel unit got the routine report the next day, and hauled ass down to Westport to talk to these clowns. (You know what’s coming, right?)

    Yeah.

    They and their entire families had vanished. Upon some research, it appeared they had gone home immediately to collect their families, and then gone straight to JFK airport and flown out that very same evening.

    Trail cold. (No big deal: no actual crime had been committed.)

    I heard many stories like that one, back when I was working in emergency communications.

    The first few will get sick, and some few will die, on the first day. On the second day many more will be stricken, as the city pipes under the streets carry the “substance” forward. Soon, all the pipes in your house will be carrying it as well. Officialdom and Media will be parroting each other’s carefully guarded speculation.

    The unprepared will be dying in large numbers as the first week nears an end. The slightly prepared will be along shortly. The well-prepared will last a bit longer — but their dying will just be a more spread-out phenomenon, happening over e few weeks or months, at best for most.

    The pipes will all still be filled… …waiting.

We have dumped highly toxic chemicals, rads and pathogenic organisms in the Great Lakes for centuries, and while we have hurt kids and adults both with the behavior, the apocalypse never happened. Expecting 20 men to better the efforts of tens of millions of toxin enabled industrial workers, nuclear plant operators, trucking and railway operators, armed service members, and most deadly of all, consumers, invokes my skepticism.
    Maybe someone knows something I haven’t heard, but I didn’t think that rads stay in solution or are all that difficult to filter. Natural selection and a massive natural supply of bacteria phages tends to naturally purify lake water. Filters work well on bacteria. Viruses might be a candidate, but again, finding a hyper-virulent strain that doesn’t fall prey to the equally virulent endemic rivals might be impossible.
    I’m not going to bother with chemicals; we’ve dumped millions of tons of insanely toxic chemicals into the water supply, with limited success in eradicating ourselves.
    I tend to be more concerned about the govt sponsored water getting cut off, perhaps as a false flag control mechanism, and having to go to alternate sources. I have alternatives, but labor wise, they are not efficient.
    The 20 men scenario is interesting, but technical feasibility looks doubtful.

    • A truckload worth of Fentanyl put into the water near each off shore water intake for Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, etc. while being diluted by the lake water would probably still be concentrated enough to kill thousands in each city, maybe 10’s of thousands, and worse contaminate the plumbing system nearly city wide before the problem was discovered since Fentanyl is so powerful.

      Remember just a few MICRO grams of Fentanyl can kill.

      (note the industrial size labs for Fentanyl production that they have discovered in Canada which the CBC ran a piece on a few weeks back)

      • Bear in mind it ain’t just “fentanyl.” The labs make at least a dozen fentanyl analogs (analogues?), a couple of which (Carfentanil springs to mind) are a thousand or more times as potent (and deadly) as fentanyl, itself.

        I should think a “fentanyl attack” could be flushed out of a city’s water system, however it’d likely kill everyone who came in contact with the city’s water, until it was flushed out. (Is it “Dasani” that is merely bottled Chicago city water? I know it’s one of the major “brands.”) Little gal who clerked at the cstore near me OD’d and nearly died, because she found a Ziploc with a pinch of fentanyl powder in it behind the toilet, and threw it out. Just handling the (I’d assume rolled-up) bag nearly orphaned four kids.

        I can not imagine moving a truck full of that stuff — anywhere. You’d have to drive it into the Lake at a boat launch and be very upwind…

    • I suspect the real issue would be in dropping a bioagent (replicating) rather than a chemical agent (diluting) into the Lakes. The lake system will dilute and detox a chemical — a critter, not so much…

      • The post water treatment contamination scenario against a few targets that BIC put forth looks like it would be possible with a twenty man crew, although it would take quite a while to set up, and detection would limit the number of potential targets.
        The Great Lakes are a very large and resilient ecosystem.
        In the early days of the bioengineering scale ups, there was extreme regulatory paranoia regarding the use of certain types of modified cells lines being used in fermenters, in a plant next to the Bay. The plant went forward, but was built with a triple kill isolation system for biowaste, which was unheard of at the time. It later turned out the cell lines were not viable in sea water.

        The novel is about an environmental apocalypse, worse than The Last of Us. I know these sorts of scenarios are new to a lot of Ure readers, but I’ve had forty years to think and rethink about things I witnessed back then. BIC’s scenario is by far the most frightening to me.
        I’m not sure what to make of the potential efficiency of a massive fentanyl release. The public’s real protection is probably from the greed of the manufacturer’s and distributors.
