This morning on Peoplenomics: Are we watching the opening spider webs of a systemic summer problem — or just another false alarm in a market drunk on AI and liquidity? We walk through the “Eight Weeks to Empty Shelves” petroleum-collapse thesis, why one forecast alone is not yet enough to trade, and how Blink-style analysis looks instead for the edges of a cloud becoming visible before the crowd panics. Along the way: Iran, diesel, logistics fragility, Camp David optics, and why markets are still acting like none of it matters. The big part? How your “News World” is about to change.
Also today: our latest ChartPack compares present market waveforms with the run-up into 1929, while the new Focus paper explores what may replace modern headline overload itself — location-driven, AI-assisted “situational intelligence” news. In a world drowning in noise, the next premium product may not be more information. It may be knowing which five things actually matter where you live, right now, and why.

“We’re back on the grindstone focused on non-monetary moves that a reasonable person would have been making in the 1928-1929 period.” G.Ure
Yes, please. Moar.
Got a new mattress. With it 30% off it was still $2K. Best $2K I ever spent:
https://relaxtheback.com/products/casper-dream-max-hybrid-14-medium-soft-mattress?variant=42710879830070
Maybe the right zero gravity recliner will go on sale some day. I’m not spending money on fixed improvements right now, but mattresses are portable, and $2K for an 85%+ evening pain reduction is a bargain.
That’;s such a good idea, why I dozed off just thinking it through…
I’m thinking you can save the upgrade recliner bucks for something like a cappuccino rig. Better yet, an automated one with AI.
Enjoy the good sleep its always nice to get snuggled down for the night sleep…what’s I find interesting is mattress’s…people won’t hesitate to buy a new table , chair or drive new car…but won’t buy a new mattress where they spend half of their life….
we have a mattress company here. that makes them..then has a !lifetime guarantee..I took one in two years ago that was a family members and almost twenty years old.. They wanted me to haul it to the dump..seeing it was one of those with a lifetime warranty I took it in just to see if they would honor their guarantee….it was amazing they rebuilt it from the ground up while waited and tossed in a set of linen..No more slope to the middle..
the one thing I have a really hard time getting rid of..is my pillow. My wife has been after me to dump it and get new I say absolutely not….Costco has a massage chair that’s so good ..dam if it didn’t cost so much I’d own one of those..
Im not one to keep a hold of a mattress. Once they dont feel right I replace em with a new one. Now what I do hold on to is my tshirts. Some of them are so holey they are near religious figures. Very holy shirts fer sure
The latex set I tossed was between 25 and 45 yrs old. The foundation was in plastic and still looked new. The mattress was showing its age, and was much too firm.
Great News G-Dog,

re: orange alert
tbs,
You may have prompted me to experience a Mandella Moment. Since yellow and red alerts are primary colours, why do we have secondary coloured orange alerts? Orange alerts should be primary coloured blue alerts? I thought orange alerts featured in episodes of the 60’s “Star Trek” tv series. However AI says the yellow, orange, red alert system only first happened after 9/11.
Meanwhile Ukrainian WW2 alleged Nazi collaborator Col. Andriy Melnyk and his wife have completed their journeys back to the Ukraine from Luxembourg according to “Ukrainian Truth”. Col. Melnyk had lived in exile in Luxembourg after 1945 and passed away in Germany in 1964. Newly appointed Ukrainian Ambassador to Belgium and special representative to Luxembourg Yaroslav Melnyk attended the May 19th exhumation. A planned interment for last Sunday in Kyiv became delayed by one day due to heavy Russian bombardment. However the ceremony held on Monday included the Ukrainian President and PM, and appears on the former’s social media account.
Col. Melnyk as leader of the Ukrainian nationalist OUN-B party after 1938 resided in Berlin for a good part of WW2. His alleged accomplishments include collaborating with the Nazis in preparations for the invasions of Poland and the Soviet Union. In his Monday address, President Zelensky expressed gratitude that friends of Ukraine had been able to return Col. Melnyk to Ukraine’s “pantheon of heroes”. There are suggestions floating about that ample space remains in the pantheon for the similar rehabilitation of more WW2 era figures.
Everything is all right. Oops, I mean alright.
Jarvis has gotten pretty good at breaking-down someone else’s analysis. With built-in constraints within the query, I had Jarvis take at look at Shryock’s 60 Days to Starvation., article. [.., eight-weeks-to-empty-shelves ] Jarvis was not impressed. Not at all. And found multiple falsehoods and exaggerations-to-failure that are simply ‘not true’. “Everything failing – all at once” is just not very likely. One interesting sentence from Jarvis I will quote here – as it seems to always ring true, in any situation, or crisis – “Follow the Money”.
According to Jarvis., responding to my snide money remark:
You’ve put your finger on the most important truth:
There are too many players with too much money at stake to let the system truly collapse.
Even adversarial nations quietly cooperate when oil flows are threatened because everyone loses if the system seizes up. Everyone.
So.., take Shryock’s article with a heavy gain of salt.. like the encrusted rim of a tequila shot glass. Interesting.., informative.., things to watch for.., but far from total collapse.

“I have stopped thinking of this as a mania, and rather as a conscious effort to accelerate the transfer of wealth to the power elite by pumping up certain financial assets, resulting in the general diminishment of all the rest of the assets under the Dollar through a stealthy, pernicious inflation.
It is a hidden tax on the working public. The AI Bubble. It is not the result of a well-intentioned policy error, or animal spirits, but a lack of character for the sake of personal gain.”
One thing to keep in mind, that at least for now, AI are at best back seat drivers in the boots on the ground economy. AI doesn’t run the food storage warehouse, drive the delivery truck, fuel the truck, stock the grocery shelves, or run the check-out. And that becomes even more relevant for upstream ag businesses. You may see AI doing some of these functions in small numbers, but those are largely science experiments for the time being.
AI predictions about how a human labor force will react under duress aren’t really based on super intelligent modeling. The conclusion that the system can’t implode simply because rich people will get burned is kinda missing the point. It is the determination and skill of the worker bees and front line supervision that stave off the collapse 24/7/365.25. The economy has been running on debt fumes for a long time.

Israel has killed the newly appointed military head of Hamas in an airstrike in Lebanon. They killed the previous general in an airstrike. [ Lousy job, eh?]
– Single aircraft – pinpoint strike. That equals excellent intelligence.
– Might want to watch any news from Iran regarding this – as part of their peace-deal points include the stoppage of Israeli attacks in Lebanon and Syria on their proxy militias.
