Not exactly the kind of thing to brag about, but if you noticed the map on the “earthquake tireds I wrote about osome 8-Hours ago (and posted) we now know why:
Official (revised):
Event type: Earthquake
Region: off the coast of Northern California
Geographic coordinates: 40.299N, 125.377W
Magnitude: 7.0
Depth: 10 km
Universal Time (UTC): 5 Dec 2024 18:44:16
Time near the Epicenter (1): 5 Dec 2024 10:44:16
Time in your area (1): 5 Dec 2024 18:44:16
Now to sort out if this is the first of several or if the PacPlate is getting antsy. For now I’m tired, but likely just the small aftershocks which usually follows quakes of this size.
S.F. officials did so precautionary evacuations (near the water) but likely not much will come of it. Nap time/
Any opernings for a “shaking prophet?”

I was about to comment on original, but dang you Nailed it!
Easrthquakes often lead stock falls, waiting for employment but ready to pull the trigger. Again great call Shaker.
I woke up at 4am, had to herbally get back to sleep, few days ago heard a short quake beep, the ‘shaking’ (of nerves, anyway lol, live in SF Bay Area) doesn’t stop for a week:
https://watchers.news/2024/08/09/japan-issues-first-ever-megaquake-warning-after-m7-1-kyushu-earthquake/
‘Statistical data on past large earthquakes around the world shows that of the 1 437 earthquakes with moment magnitude 7.0 or more that occurred between 1904 and 2014, there were 6 cases of earthquakes with moment magnitude 8 or more occurring in the same area within seven days of the first earthquake, and the frequency of occurrence thereafter decreases over time.’
Good call!
Do you keep a spreadsheet w/hit a graph?
Tsunami warning was issued as far north as the Oregon state line and as far south as Half Moon Bay, as well as San Francisco near the water. An order to evacuate was issued to leave the immediate area.
Ure earthquake tireds were correct again. I’m in the bay area and we are under a tsunami warning. Waves expected to hit about 12:10 PM PST.
Straaaange G!
I totally believe in the Earthquake tireds and get them as well. This morning was a very difficult morning for me to get up and all day I have felt winded. I even got my SpO2% meter out to make sure I was not getting a chest cold or something.
Still feeling it… maybe it is a cold. 58F yesterday to 18F this morning will do that. Obviously I am closer to New Madrid SZ than JDF / Cascadia.
A second earthquake on a different epicenter registering a 6.0 on the Richter scale struck 5.6 miles WNW of Cobb, California 4 minutes later.
Strange. I did sleep a bit later this morning. Was fine when I went to the store earlier and at the time the quake hit.
I just got up from an hour long nap and can barely keep my eyes open. Just dog tired.
Take a look at the depth. Remember it. Saying no more.
p.s. Im inland from Berkeley/Oakland etc…at elevation.
Yet I received a Tsunami warning on my phone for the San Ramon Valley ??? 1,000 foot wall of water taking out everything west of the hills ?
Just a little jumpy after Sumatra and Japan ?
Wow, right on the nose. So maybe me being so sluggish this morning was due to an impending earthquake in CA (I’m in TN), instead of just being 78?? LOL!
Absolutemente
George,
I just counted 52 earthquakes in Petrolia, California, more earthquake stacking, and a few more in Ferndale, California.
