FinCrazy: Job Cuts, U.I. Filings, Productivity

Since we have FinTech, and Fin[whatever], why not FinCrazy and FinNuts?

Evidence abounds.  It just ain’t called that – yet.  Trust me on this: FinFuk will be a word in 5-years, or less.

High Level Downers

We – hapless souls caught in skin bags for this adventure – watch as the world devolves toward a nuclear nightmare.  We’re stuck an “impotized” between craziness and confuction; between dementia and drama-dolts.

Yet, even as Kiev (Kyiv to the Nuevo Prest) is readied to fall and national socialism stands to be vaporized in Odessa (maybe even this weekend), the stock market put on a nearly 600-point rally yesterday.

FinCrak fer sure.

Insufficient oil, sheared supply lines and yet…

What???  Lemme ‘splain, bub.

Temporal Marker in Plain Sight

Only the incurably arrogant and unaware can miss the story that’s TRULY Big News Above All Else (BNAAE) today:  Major power outage in Taiwan disrupts Internet connectivity – DCD (datacenterdynamics.com).

If your bean hasn’t hit your brain, yet? Allow us to parse the duchy for you:

Ukraine invasion by Russia began with (no help here)….what?

{OK. Answer: two waves of cyber attacks!}

Which means, since odds of first-class military planners writing pretty similar scripts for launching take-overs of small countries is prolly similar?

Well, measure the temporal span from Kiev attack round 1 to Kiev round 2 and Kiev falls (maybe this weekend).  Got a calendar on your phone and a brain cell between your ears?

That time span – in our stupid, dull-witted, reactionary, back-woods, redneck, over-oxygenated way of thinking – a BFC about what’s just ahead.  (BFC=Big F**king Clue if you’re DFD to follow…)

Whee!!!

(Let me huff that white board marker for a moment to clear my head.)

Data Daily

OK, 475-thousand new jobs came along in the ADP job report on Wednesday.

Mr. Dullwitt figured that means virtually no one will be laid off in this morning’s Job Cuts report.

How’s we do?

Bada-bing!  CNBC should be on Skype for my expert calls on such things because here’s the story: Feb ’22 Job Cuts Report: Hiring Explodes as Job Cuts Fall | Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. (challengergray.com)

What we DO know is (with some scientific precision here, keep up) that since ONLY 15,245 people were laid off in February, Slow Joe has America back on the Yellow Brick Road.  (Yellow?  As in Belt and Road Initiative?  China?  All there encoded before you while bias blinders hide the future.  My, oh my.)

Data 2

(Gloomberg hasn’t called for an interview yet, either. Hmm…)

Yet once again, the dime-store MBA comes through by calculating that if more people are going to work and no one’s being laid off but the more unfortunate of honest souls, then no one should be filing for new unemployment claims, right?

Badda-bing – again!

Nailed another!

Data Trifecta!

With the futures jumping (not surprising) we look even deeper and find productivity was rising an an impossible to sustain clip last month:

“Nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased 6.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today, as output increased 9.1 percent and hours worked increased 2.4 percent. (All quarterly percent changes in this release are seasonally adjusted annual rates.)

From the fourth quarter of 2020 to the fourth quarter of 2021, nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased 1.9 percent. (See table A1.) Annual average productivity increased 1.9 percent from 2020 to 2021. “

Hmm.  6.6 percent in Q4, so 1.066 exponent 4 is?  29.13 percent annual rate of productivity increase.

My late school chum Louis – who sold heroin on the street after high school and ran a string of women – would have been proud.

FinTech is dead.  Long Live FinDope!

No?  We move on.

More on point: Kherson becomes first Ukrainian city to fall to Russia (nypost.com)  and more dominoes are lined up.  Rally sure to follow.

Pretending to be Be News

Got us the Bo-Glob rolling  Jan. 6 panel alleges Trump and allies engaged in ‘criminal conspiracy’ – The Boston Globe.  But yet, that was 15-months ago and the US government case has shown the world that political prisoners here don’t have any right to a speedy fair trial if there are grandstanding politicians of another party involved.

  1. Well I am writing and I guess the term RICH is a state of ones mind!
Spot on George most do not know about the CIA funded movies to sway public opinion and I for one see it a bit different as the NWO puts out advance news of what they intend on doing and most have no clue well, most go thru life clueless so I guess that is nothing new. maybe the term “ignorance is bliss” has validity after all.

    • In our country, separation of church and state exists for a reason. It’s a volatile mix that never ends well. We’re not perfect at it but at least we see the problem.
Putin and Kirill have formed an unholy alliance to drag Russia back to the Good Old Days when the Tsar and the Patriarch jointly governed Russian society.
Check into the centuries-old feud between the ROC and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
With the Prince of Peace on their side, Putin and Kirill believe the infidel Ukrainians have no chance. Of course, the UOC has some blood on its hands as well.
Religious nut jobs and nukes. What could possibly go wrong?

      • “In our country, separation of church and state exists for a reason.”

Yeah, communist judges sprinkled throughout the Judiciary.

That is the only place where may be found the phrase “separation of Church and State,” other than a letter penned by Thomas Jefferson, which discussed potential contents (but not phraseology) of possible Constitutional Amendments which could eventually comprise a “Bill of Rights.”

We have a codified prohibition of government creating a State religion, or interfering in the practice of anyone’s religion. We do not have a prohibition of religions involving themselves in politics. Illiterates, especially in academia and the judiciary, will disagree with me on this, but they also have either not read, or lack the intelligence to comprehend our Constitution.

  3. Grab the Popcorn, ease off the doom. No mushrooms coming, these ops roll on. China – Tiawan will be next, but same as Ukraine, an op. A few other countries too, which will surprise a few people.
But yes, Fin system, will be collapsed. Better days ahead, maybe not for stocks though.

  4. you protect and defend Ure garden, you built a fence (wall) and a green house (castle for protection) and have a co2 pellet rifle, QB78, to repel invaders, yet our demonrat/RINOs election thieves are removing our defenses but want to defend their criminal activities in Ukraine. Sorassville

I am not saying Q is the answer to all of our problems, but they (Team Q) have shined a light on to the evil that surrounds US, Satanic pedophiles have been ruling US, March madness is here.
Planning and scheduling is needed, if you want to succeed, we are watching the unfolding of future events that have been planned for by opposing chess players. We humans are just the board they play on. Looks like team Trump did well in Texas elections via endorsements. Is the tide turning? Many new representatives this fall will change the House leadership. We human animals, want what we want and we want it NOW, but planning and schedules and work, take time, but yield gratifying results :)
Yes sir George, Ure posts are timely and insightful

  5. My waking questions this morning are:
    – If Musk is providing Starlink terminals and free space based internet service to Ukraine, and Ukrainians keep hacking Russian systems and pressing a strong information systems attack, will Putin go after Starlink, Tesla, SpaceX and perhaps even Musk himself? (in this dark scenario, economic war escalates from open virtual warfare to kinetic and ultimately space-based battlefields).
    – Is the West’s response to Russian aggression (just economic sanctions, no kinetics – yet) following a dangerous historical precedent? History reminds us that Pearl Harbor’s was triggered by the Empire of Japan’s response to crippling Western economic embargoes and sanctions after it invaded China. Their attack on Pearl kicked off WWII. Something to put in your hookah and toke on.

We mustn’t trivialize the Russia allied Belarus president standing in front of what appears to be a Moldovan invasion map during a recent press briefing. The signaling cannot be any clearer. This has become a very dangerous game of chess that can explode across Europe and the globe in any number of ways.

    https://thehill.com/policy/international/596409-belarus-president-stands-in-front-of-battle-map-indicating-moldova

    • “If Musk is providing Starlink…
      …will Putin go after Starlink”

      Yes, already in-process.
      ______

“– Is the West’s response to Russian aggression… following a dangerous historical precedent?”

      Yes.
      ______

“History reminds us that Pearl Harbor… sanctions”

I smoked that hookah the instant somebody threatened “sanctions” if Russia chose to invade.

The “S word” does not have a good track record at any time since the creation of motorized ships.
      ______

“We mustn’t trivialize …a Moldovan invasion map during a recent press briefing.”

I mentioned Moldova last week for a reason. Strategically, it makes no sense to take Ukraine and not take Moldova. Look at a map and you can see the elegance of such a border along the current eastern Polish border, from Baltic to Black.

BTW, you did hear that Russia is ringing CONUS with subs, and has rolled out their portable ICBM launchers and put them on the road, right? (They’re “repositioning them for a parade in May…”) I don’t know if that’s an actual threat, or if Putin simply doesn’t trust our ability to keep the idiot in the White House from doing something militarily-stupid.

  6. Ukraine

    Where are all the pictures?

Wouldn’t you expect to see children playing on the wings of the downed planes?

The one photo of an, apparently, downed plane was seen again and again in the first couple of days, but only for 1-second or so.
Today is seen an armored vehicle with a body lying nearby.

    But hundreds?

Why did Russia wait until yesterday to knock out the radio tower in Kiev? Wouldn’t it have been taken out the first night? The TV news said it was from artillery shelling but anyone looking could see it was a missile, drone. And only a moderate explosion was seen.

It appears the Covid playbook is being used to describe the situation in the Ukraine. Meaning, controlled.

“The (Russian) combat losses included also 217 tanks, 90 armored fighting vehicles, 90 artillery systems, 42 multiple launch rocket systems, 11 anti-aircraft defense systems, 30 aircrafts (information to be updated), 31 helicopters (information to be updated), 374 motor vehicles, two light high-speed power boats, 60 fire-fighting trailers, three unmanned aerial vehicles.”

  7. I certainly think Putin is a thug, but at some point these smaller countries are going to be consolidated into wider economic and cultural groups. Ukraine put Russia into an odd spot, cozying up to the west, but also being directly on the border with a large militarized neighbor. If Canada started to cozy up to Russia, getting arms and military equipment from Russia staging military games with Russia, what might the US do? If you poke the bear, that is your direct neighbor, what are the expectations? If a separate country is formed, they need to be able to protect themselves, or make what they offer so useful, the bears don’t look to eat them and perhaps kill the golden goose.

Taiwan is doing the same thing with China, buying arms staging military games. I think Taiwan has more importance to the world then Ukraine, but they are also poking their bear.

It is sad so many people live under authoritarian regimes, but that does seem the historic norm for large parts of the world population, and why the US has stood out like a beacon to the world.

I personally am unwilling to fight for another countries freedom. If it comes to it, I am not even sure our own countries leaders are worth dying for, as year by year, we are ever burdened by more government oversight.

    • ” I am not even sure our own countries leaders are worth dying for”

Oh, I’m totally sure: They’re not.

The Constitution, yes; the people who’ve bastardized it, no way in hell…

  8. Lyin Biden stated in his BS laden State of the Union that they had Covid testing kits ready to send out to the people. Even told us where to go to get them in a previous discussion where he stated there were 500,000 still available. Said that if you test positive they have a pill ready to stuff down your throat that your tax dollars paid for. Trust me, I am from the government.

Dr. Joe Biden MD PhD, who couldn’t spell CAT anymore if you spotted him the C and T, much less know anything about medicine, is ready to ride his rocking horse out of his basement to the rescue! Just a little late Joe, just like your weapons to the Ukrainians! I bet those Ukrainians wished they had 100 round clips (do they exist) now like you said you were going to take away from Americans, just like you took away our energy independence you fool and left our borders totally open to terrorists. Lies, lies, and more lies.

Now like Paul Harvey used to say, “Here’s the rest of the story”…

Wayne Allyn Root discussed an Interview on The Gateway Pundit that he had with President Trump recently.

Wayne Allyn Root—”Finally, I informed President Trump about a potential new blockbuster Biden scandal. One of my friends and fans is a successful businessman who imports Covid antigen tests from China. The EXACT same ones Biden just bought by the millions from China, and from the EXACT same manufacturer.”

“But there’s one big difference. Based on what my friend pays direct from the manufacturer, Biden OVERPAID by $800 million dollars of taxpayer money. Is Biden an incompetent fool? Or…is this more Biden family corruption? Did Biden, or Hunter Biden, or a Biden administration lackey purposely overpay by $800 million, so that Biden or his family could receive a $100 million bribe/kickback deposited into an offshore account?”

“Trump was clearly fascinated by this story and my kickback theory. He asked me to get him more information as soon as possible.”

Slimy Joe Biden is a crook, always was. SloJoe deserves the same thing he is doing to prisoners locked up in D.C. jails because of January 6th. Guilty until proven innocent! Held in a D.C. jail in squalid conditions for over a year without bail, no right to a speedy trial, nor a writ of habeas corpus. Where are the investigations into the cops that waived people into the Capitol? Were they paid off? What about all the provocateurs like the guy from Arizona the Feds won’t discuss? What about all the people changing clothes into ANTIFA black with masks that broke windows that was filmed? How about all the people disembarking buses that were dressed in ANTIFA Black. And what about the 3 cops guarding doors stepping away so a young unarmed girl, Ashley Babbit, could get shot down in cold blood? Where is the reporting and House investigators on this bunch of BS? It won’t come out because you have RINOs and DEMOs swimming in the same sewer together.

According to Pelosi, they invaded Pelosi’s house, not ours, or so she thinks. The DOJ has released 36 BLM and Antifa rioters with no charges after they had indicted them for burning buildings and police vehicles and injuring cops with rocks.

They are using these people that are locked up by withholding their rights, to send a message to all of us…. “Don’t challenge the lying narrative whether media or social, don’t challenge the vote, don’t challenge the Demoncrats and the Deep State. Your votes were just window dressing for ballot box stuffing, ballot gathering, more votes in some districts than registered voters, dead persons voting, out of state votes, voting machines that can be programmed to flip, and internet tied in voting software that could be flipped in real time….and your votes will soon to be TOTALLY irrelevant if it is allowed to happen again.”

And reply with your bullshit you liberal Marxists that the voting irregularities never happened… It is the same thing they said in Venzeuela, Chili, China, Cuba, Mexico, and many other countries living under tyranny. There is plenty of clear video proof of ballot harvesting and ballot box stuffing, of votes pulled out under tables and run multiple times through vote counting machines, and people who spilled the beans out there from numerous states about all the other irregularities, including voting machines with trails out of the country, and vote totals that changed right before everyone’s eyes on the network feeds. Yet there have been NO indictments. You just have to look you liberal Marxists and quit being Ostriches with you heads in the sand and your asses in the air. And quit listening to the Commie News Networks feeding you constant lies and propaganda.

Meanwhile, Hillary and all her crooks skate on bugging Trump’s offices and all her other crimes including laptops. What they did makes Watergate look like kindergarden. Hunter, Hillary, Laptops. And Ukraine? The citadel of money laundering, corruption and evil for years. Could those little boxes provide the means to finally eradicate all the crooks? Doubtful without Military Tribunals for treason, because we don’t have a Justice Department that is going to bring a blind “Lady Justice” to the dance. The crooks skate, but the patriots get locked up in a political prison just like they went after the truckers in Canada.

By God, as Wyatt Earp said, “there’s a reckoning coming.” And the champagne is already iced down in multiple locales to celebrate it!!

  9. Yep it is getting crazy . These 5s are like that . Watch it go soon . They know no RSI.

  10. Oh yea, China is going to walk into Taiwan like Micheal Jackson moonwalked into a Vegas boutique taking whatever he wanted.

That’ll be the second Asian Tiger to go back.

F and GM will need a lot of bailout to carry them until the new Ohio Intel plant is built out. The airlines too. ‘And Stimmies for all’.

  11. Wow . Vlad is gunna out the 9/11 movie production crew . Now this guy is a true swamp cleaner

  12. I doubt that Russian combat losses are anywhere near 9,000. The propaganda for this ‘war’ is worse than the covid con. Btw, do we have any true blue believers left for the covid con? I would love to hear your thoughts on the safety and efficacy of the vaxx. Also, how about wearing masks and lock downs? Here in FL, we still have a few morons in masks – they think it is real!

  13. Hey All,

I shared the Taiwan link with my energy guy.

Below is his quick take. I though it was worth a share :)

”There is a much bigger issue here. Taiwan was already struggling on the power front due to the shortages in the hydro dams and the general reservoirs. Xi isn’t looking to move all that quickly in Taiwan for several reasons:
    1) He will wait till after the Communist Congress which is Nov – at the earliest
    2) Xi is now facing a huge grain shortfall that he needs LatAm/ U.S./ European farmers to close
    3) CIPS works great in theory, but what should the Yuan-Ruble exchange rate really be? How should that transaction look?

In order for China to take Taiwan, they couldn’t use carpet bombing or other “Cheaper” means. It would require a landing force that would rival 3 beachheads during Normandy, and that equipment is hard to hide with today’s technology. He is also facing a very united Western Front (thanks Putin), and he wouldn’t be looking to get in front of that.

China is also facing a steep drop off in consumer buying (again) and they need exports to buffer that – which is going to be tough. They can’t afford losing Europe/US as buyers right now.

    • China joe’s generals are already feeding info to china , it’s been in the msm. China Joe ,millie vanillie ,and african austin sold us down the river.

  14. Russian oil and gas to Europe has not been sanctioned? It’s theoretically business as usual? Segue from that to the UK gas/electricity market where consumers have an option to fix their utility bill with semi-annual adjustment by a government regulator to smooth out price shocks. The next reset is April 1 with the regulator posting a 54% hike in the fixed rate. The average annual household utility bill is said to be increasing from £1200+ to £1900+. A further 50% increase is projected at the fix next November.

Mr. Putin hasn’t even turned the taps to Europe off. Power up the windmills…

Hohum, just another day at the war office as Mr. Musk sees more Starlink satellites launched into orbit today. Now gaining a foothold on the frontlines while competitors spin their wheels. Amazon’s Kuiper Systems looks to be playing catchup, UK’s OneWeb is mired in a Russian maybe/ maybe not launch, and the EU is talking about creating their own system.

By the way, awoke friends, if
    Kiev = Kyev
    then
    Odessa = Odesa

  15. Read that Russia has announced it has cut off it’s oil shipments to the US.

Reports I read were that we were importing about 750,000 barrels a day of crude and refined product from Russia, about 125,000 barrels of crude and balance being refined product.

The KICKER? It was virtually all going to the Northeast US since the Liberals in that part of the world have successfully fought having any new pipelines, oil or natural gas, built across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or New York to connect the Northeast to the pipelines to their west.

(YEP … the Norhtesast has to import large quantities of liquified natural gas too even though Western PA and Eastern Ohio are one of the largest natural gas producing regions in the world – and since there is little to no pipeline capacity going east they ship their excess gas 1300 miles to the Gulf Coast vs 250 miles to the East Coast, where part of it is THEN liquified so it can be transported by ship to where else? … but the NE US!!)

Since the Northeast does NOT want pipelines to carry oil or oil products to it can we just let them be short their 750,000 barrels a day of the stuff that they were receiving from Russia? Make Buttigieg and the rest of the NE environmentalists happy as clams in other words since that would be SO GOOD for the environment!

There IS a positive outcome if that would happen, besides the environment of course …. Bicycle sales would skyrocket!! as would sales of Air Jordans!! Both made in China, which has no human rights issues and no plans to invade another country, EVER.

    ====================

When China goes after Taiwan … which is NOT a threat to them unlike a Nato-ized Ukraine would be to Russia … watch how American businesses and many politicians twist themselves into an impressive knot so as to avoid breaking business ties, and imports, from China.

You will NEVER see American politicians or businesses CUT OFF CHINA when that happens like they have cut off Russia – nope, I am sure Boeing and Airbus will keep shipping them plane parts for their fleets and we will still have a backlog of imports coming in from China through LA/Long Beach and every other port in the US when that happens.

The Double Standards will be glaring … but American politicians and business people will NOT CARE (watch Apple and see what happens … their ACTIONS not their Press Releases … that will tell you all you need to know about American Double Standards when it comes to foreign policy issues)

    • Russian oil imports have varied from about 500,000 bbls, to nearly 900,000 bbls since February of 2021. You can find actual, real, and accurate numbers at the U.S. Energy Information Administration…

    • “Read that Russia has announced it has cut off it’s oil shipments to the US.”

Stephen 2… I am curious if stopping the two hundred million barrels of oil coming to america was one of the reasons why gas went up so sharply today..

  17. Now that they’re throwing a war over in Ukraine you don’t hear anything about what’s going on in Canada with the banks and civil rights (or Lefts) or the Covid scene. I do see where people are dying from The Jab, though, very, very quietly.

    • They are indeed – but to the uninformed and naive observer, the deaths look normal – heart disease, cancer, diabetes. I have been monitoring my local newspaper – lots of people dying in their 30’s – early 60’s from ‘died suddenly at home.’ Hmm……could there be a connection…..nah, I better go back in my shell and watch the MSM.

    • Bill,

I imagine that the nation’s leadership is putting to good use last year’s “Christmas in August” of 24 billion SDRs deposited to the Bank of Canada foreign exchange reserves from the IMF. As the IMF noted at the time, the “allocation” was to “help countries cope with the impact of the covid-19 pandemic”. Judging by the more or less monthly red ink since, perhaps Santa will see fit to ship more pressies to the PM c/o the Bank of Canada?

  18. Over time “news clouds” have been mentioned here.

  19. Grains – Wheat

Just a reminder that Ukraine and Russia provide most the largest amount of export grains in the world. Keep a watch to see if Ukraine can even plant the majority of it’s acreage this spring.

I assume western Ukraine WILL plant their crops, Ukraine is a physically HUGE country the largest in Europe size wise, since so far the battles are all in the east of the country and it looks like they will stay that way.

    ————————-

    Oil and Refined Products:

Zero hedge gives the following numbers:

“The preliminary Russian crude oil loadings for March revealed a 1 mbd drop in the loadings from the Black Sea ports, 1 mbd drop from the Baltics and 0.5 mbd drop in the Far East.

In addition, there is now also an estimated 2.5 mbd loss in oil products loadings from the Black Sea, for a total loss of 4.5 mbd of Russian crude loands, a stunning amount in a market that was already precariously balanced before the Ukraine war.”

    ————–
A shortfall of 4.5 million barrels a day in the world oil markets is greatly in excess of any additional capacity that can be brought on line in any short term time frame. 750,000 bpd of that Russian oil and refined product was supposedly coming to the US, mostly to the NE US, so that is going to affect that part of the country first once the tankers enroute from Russia stop arriving in a couple of weeks.

Fun times in the supply chain for both food and oil coming up as the supply chain gets pulled really really tight.

    • “Grains – Wheat
Just a reminder that Ukraine and Russia provide most the largest amount of export grains in the world.”

I was just talking to the fiancée of my grand daughter about this last night.. I jokingly said.. so have you got your crops planted yet.. He laughed and said not yet but everyone is getting yancey to get them in because of the price of fuel..
then he said.. almost everyone he knows is considering planting wheat and oats.. because no one raises those grains around the USA anymore it all comes out of Russia and Ukraine.. the down side is.. no one buys it either

      • “because no one raises those grains around the USA anymore”

Depends on the strain. We grow two crops of wheat every year, from Idaho to Pennsylvania. Drive through the country from the Dakotas to SE Ohio today, and any snow-bare green fields you’ll see are planted in hard, winter (Duram) wheat — hibernating until it’s time to finish growing for May/June harvest.

The stuff they grow in Russia and Ukraine is Duram, but they also grow Tritacale. Duram semolina, mostly sourced from Belarus and Ukraine, is what Italians make real Italian pasta noodles out of, so if’fn yer a purist, ya might want to lay in a case of vermicelli now…

  20. Truth is the first casualty in any war. And “war crime” is redundant.
The only sure thing is that good people are being killed and maimed on all sides, and another generation of psychologically-scarred people is being created on a global scale.
War means that society has FAILED. It’s never one-sided; blame can be found everywhere. And there’s always a core group of overcompensating psychos that just love to fight or send others to do it, all the while reveling in the glory of it all. So thanks to all you manly men out there – couldn’t do it without you.
Sometimes I think deinstitutionalization has gone too far. Now, it’s catch, put ’em on meds, and release. Once released, they stop their meds, get a smart phone with unlimited data, and open a Twitter account. And some of ’em run for office.
Bring back straight jackets and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TAKE YOUR MEDS!

  21. It appears China bluffed the world by denouncing Russia’s incursion as wrong, when in reality wheels were in motion for their take over of Taiwan. Like a magician getting their audience to look at one thing while manipulating another. Look out Yemen, here comes the Saudi’s.

What is the business model not one thing looks like it would be feasible for a business model…. the boss asked me why I keep reading the news.. I told her that I just want to know when it is time to kiss my azz goodbye while the D/S plays his kazoo as the country burns..

  25. Words of Wisdom… and why I am not in the paper market:
“It never pays to bet on the end of the world because even if you’re right you can’t collect!”

    • “It never pays to bet on the end of the world because even if you’re right you can’t collect!”

AMEN HANK… and even if it didn’t end.. what good is a currency if it is worthless..
      take a note from history..
“A loaf of bread in Berlin that cost around 160 Marks at the end of 1922 cost 200,000,000,000 Marks by late 1923.
By November 1923, one US dollar was worth 4,210,500,000,000 German marks. In August 1923, an economist, Karl Helfferich, proposed a plan to issue a new currency, the “Roggenmark” (“rye mark”), to be backed by mortgage bonds indexed to the market price of rye grain. The plan was rejected because of the greatly fluctuating price of rye in paper marks.

Agriculture Minister Hans Luther proposed a plan that substituted gold for rye and led to the issuance of the Rentenmark (“mortgage mark”), backed by bonds indexed to the market price of gold.[17] The gold bonds were indexed at the rate of 2,790 gold marks per kilogram of gold, the same as the pre-war gold marks. Rentenmarks were not redeemable in gold but only indexed to the gold bonds. The plan was adopted in monetary reform decrees on October 13–15, 1923. A new bank, the Rentenbank, was set up and controlled by new German Finance Minister Hans Luther.

Two Rentenmark note, issued in line with the Decree of 15 October 1923
After November 12, 1923, when Hjalmar Schacht became currency commissioner, Germany’s central bank (the Reichsbank) was not allowed to discount any further government Treasury bills, which meant the corresponding issue of paper marks also ceased. The discounting of commercial trade bills was allowed and the amount of Rentenmarks expanded, but the issue was strictly controlled to conform to current commercial and government transactions. The Rentenbank refused credit to the government and to speculators who were not able to borrow Rentenmarks, because Rentenmarks were not legal tender any longer…” considering that.. and the fact that they have printed how many trillions.. and propose to print how many more.. then the thought of China talking with the Saudi’s about their GOLD backed currency.. the whole dollar could collapse in a moments notice.. so what if you had a bank account that was worth a half dozen eggs.. or a pound of bread..

    • ‘Been thinking the same thing, but I fail to see the next move. I don’t think there’s anyone in NATO who’s that stupid.

With that said, we should all bear in-mind that Kammy and Vichy Nuland are running the U.S. part of the show, so what could possibly go wrong…?

      • I don’t think NATO is that stupid either, but what a tempting target that would be to send a few F35s to take out a few hundred vehicles. It would be a great marketing tool to sell a bunch of over priced aircraft, everything is a business model. I also noticed that some of the satellite pics of the convoys are taken in the warmer months because the trees are all leafed out. Nothing is what it seems. Word on the street is there is a buried space ark in Kherson which would explain Putin taking that area last night. Ray I Would love to hear your take on the 6+ biolabs that supposedly were taken out by the Russians.

      • “Been thinking the same thing, but I fail to see the next move. I don’t think there’s anyone in NATO who’s that stupid.”

Hmmm… but seriously I think that there is in the USA… IF this is a poison pawn trap.. the next move is coming shortly.. if not.. then maybe we may make it another year of this fubar of an administration.. IF it is .. then we probably should start learning another language..

      • @ SoCal

        I absolutely don’t know.

My one high-clearance .MIL friend who’s intimately acquainted with UKR is 12-year retired ex-MIL now. Because I don’t ALREADY KNOW, and there’s a war going on, I trust no one to tell the truth about anything. Hell, at least four of Zelensky’s photo-ops were faked with file photos — Everybody glosses over the fact the dude was a lawyer before he became Bill Cosby (the Huxtable, not the perv) — a fairly popular stand-up stage comic who became a wildly-popular actor in a wildly-popular sitcom (the point being he’s not afraid of crowds and knows how to work them…)

With that said, at this point I would not trust either the existence, or the lack of existence of these biolabs, nor anything said about them or their disposition, even if photographic evidence were provided. Any reasonable discussion at this point would contain a fork, where one tine explored the “if they exist” and one tine explored the “if they never existed” scenarios, kinda like having a critical debate with yourself. My head hurts already so I’m choosing the 3rd path: “I don’t care, and I’m not going to worry about exploring the topic until the fork can be eliminated…”

      • @ LOOB

I can’t remember all the times I’ve heard someone, often but not exclusively a conservative talker (or guest of same) mention “A-10.”

That Russian convoy has been setting there for days. My best guess is it contains nothing that’s not expendable, and that it is bait (for something.) Either that or it’s “Patton’s invasion army” y’know, the balloons & cardboard cutouts which duped Hitler into moving the bulk of his entire Western Army to Calais, before D-Day…?

I mean, c’mon. If it were meaningful, it’d be rolling, even if it took a hundred soldiers to carry each and every truck out of the mud, change its tires, and cannibalize a part of the convoy for parts. Because they haven’t, I’d surmise that convoy is exactly where Mr. Putin or his Field Commander want it to be, so the only real question is “Why?”

People who’ve never studied strategies of war should not be allowed near a microphone when there’s a war on, anywhere…

  26. Ure… I am thinking.. it is the start of WWIII. It also seems to me the USA is checkmated. Russia Hypersonic Missles – these take out land icbms and nuke air bases in the USA.. At that point the salvo is launched to take out however many targets needed… I doubt all the 12 Tridents at sea survive.. to respond. Putin’s war machine is fueled with $100 a barrel oil.. so this will go on until he pulls the trigger on us. Not feeling real good about. Not at all.

    • Russia’s hypersonic missiles are not as fast as an SR-71, and not nearly as fast as certain munitions which can be strapped to the wings of an SR-71…

  27. Comrades,

Allow me to write a few words and let’s see if grammar and sense coincide.

The deputy chief provincial health officer has announced via a – Zoom broadcast – that effective March 15th people testing positive for covid-19 will not be required any longer to self isolate. Self isolation will remain solely as a recommendation. Great. Surely every workplace has at least one person who will show up with the proverbial plague.
“Hi, everyone! Yeah, it’s covid, but don’t worry, my symptoms are pretty mild, …achoo!”
    Or,
“Sorry, Junior, off to school you go. Mr. Burns can’t give Mommy & Daddy more sick time.”

  28. Hmm. I was thinking a bit more about last August 23. The FDA had just approved the Pfizer covid vax, the US was evacuating Kabul, and under cover of a full moon the IMF pumped around US$650billion of liquidity into the global economy with their largest ever SDR issue since the ’08 collapse. Everyone got a piece of the pie except for Afghanistan and Venezuela. Belarus, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Yemen all picked up some windfall coin. In fact, one would figure Uncle Sam must have picked up a tidy $100 billion.

    Where did it go?

  30. One more then goodnight,

Hello, Houston. According to WSJ, Russia advises they won’t be supplying any more RD180 rocket engines to the West. So much for US rockets using Russian power. Talk about turning the Batmobile into a Penguin’s rubber duck lemon. Allegedly around two dozen engines remain in US hands. If they work. After that, US access to space is in the hands of a certain Mr. Musk? People stuck at the bottom of gravity wells didn’t have great leverage in Heinlein’s old sci-fi yarns?

    • [It’s] gonna suck if Mr. Putin tells Mr Musk to turn off Skylink and he doesn’t comply. All Elon’s money can’t keep him from a date with an FSB wet team…
