International Trade data has just dropped. After I tell you this is a “rear view mirror” stat and the Trade Salad is still being tossed. Here’s the view:
Exports, Imports, and Balance
June exports were $277.3 billion, $1.3 billion less than May exports. June imports were $337.5 billion, $12.8 billion less than May imports. The June decrease in the goods and services deficit reflected a decrease in the goods deficit of $11.4 billion to $85.9 billion and an increase in the services surplus of $0.1 billion to $25.7 billion.
Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit increased $161.5 billion, or 38.3 percent, from the same period in 2024. Exports increased $82.2 billion or 5.2 percent. Imports increased $243.7 billion or 12.1 percent.
Three-Month Moving Averages
The average goods and services deficit decreased $26.0 billion to $64.0 billion for the three months ending in June.

Tomorrow on Peoplenomics, a serious Econ topic on whether its time to get rid of the Fed’s “dual mandate” and actually bend policy for max economic output at all times. America has 750 billionaires at the moment; neither of us have made the cut. Donald Trump says he doesn’t trust jobs data, but Wall Street and economists do. Let’s set that aside until tomorrow.
T…T…Trump!
Remember the old days? When a president’s name appeared only on a scattered basis in headlines because there used to be so much else going on? The New York Times splash page listed “Trump” 17-times today. Though admittedly, Drudge Report had momentarily recovered from TDS listing “Trump” only twice. Maybe my recent venom about a TDS-click bait link and how ADHD figures, is paying off?
With the fiscal impact of the Big Beautiful Bill still to be paid for, He’s baaaack… Trump’s megabill expected to cost $4.1T, according to new CBO estimate. As we have been telling you for over 25-years here online: Invest in the old sure-thing in town: Inflation!
Wasn’t there a Jimmy Durante show tune about changing your mind all the time? Donald Trump Changes His Mind on Jeffrey Epstein Lawsuit. Come to think of it, this really fits Trade policy and…
Still, is some policy areas, he’s more consistent: Trump’s Rx for Big Pharma: 60 Days To Cut U.S. Drug Prices Or Face Action. Like what? I means sure, governments own things like railroads and their oil industries…but could we be the first country with ownership of long-chain healthcare? Hmm.

Before the bell, stock futures were up, which means (in our delusional way of viewing things) that we are possibly finishing up a Wave 2 bounce after kissing a major long-term trend line. Here, take a look:

Do we have time for a sell-off down to new (recent) lows and then a rally into Labor Day? And that setting up a massive Fall in the Fall? Well, yeah, maybe.
But this investment advice, not my money, and the world’s a Monkey Island. So, no telling. Even your next breath is only a probability calc.

That’s the word count for tomorrow’s Peoplenomics report. And getting it done? Mind, this is in addition to a couple of dozen views in our ChartPack.
So yes,.,. This is one of those bare-bones mornings I have mentioned are coming as the emphasis rolls over to the deeper-thinking work on the Peoplenomics side of the house.
Of course, here is also the pending “next quakes” out in the Kamchatka region. You can see in this view snagged from USGS that the whole Russian peninsula is shaking.

AND all that shaking is after the pimple – the volcano is perking like coffee on speed as we read in Russian volcano sends ash plume kilometres high in Kamchatka – Telangana Today.
Point is, if you begin to feel strangely tired over the next several days – say between now and Saturday – feel free to drop a note in our Comments section below. I tend to get the “earthquake tireds” in the 2-5 day window before a major quake, but curiously I didn’t have one ahead of the Kamchatka event last week.
Whether that was because I was too deep in work-related projects to notice? Might it infer an even bigger quake is pending? Stick around. We should know in a week, or so.
Elsewhere, the weekly list of exciting entertainment has filled-in. Annual Medicare wellness checks are coming up shortly. Our provider has been trying to talk us into a “home visit” which we are managing to resist.
I figure they’re kinda like “the shot” – maybe something else going on. Was it my mention of having a 100-meter rifle range out back, possibly? Or, finding out that a cousin of mine passed a few weeks back and do I have any interest in any of his (extensive) library of Czech, Polish, Bulgarian, Russian, and Chinese AKs and variants? Sealed 640-round ammo cans?
I never understood why Russia packaged their 7.62 X 39 rounds in such cans? If you know, pass it along. Maybe it was just a convenience: Canned hams (extra large) fit in such things. Was it a numbering quirk in Cyrillic? Metric counting? 25.2982 is the square root of it, so…uh…I’ve been scratching my head over this one for years.
Bald spot for all my work. And going half-deaf from test-firing for answers. “Fire!” Then reassemble the surviving unfired rounds in new (package) configurations… Takes a while to fire-back from 640 to 1, I’ve noticed. (So have the neighbors…)
Write when you get rich,
George@Ure.net
George, searching “why is AK ammo stored in cans” on Google, it’s AI engine answered thusly: “AK ammunition, particularly surplus or military-grade, is often packaged in sealed metal cans, sometimes called “spam cans,” for long-term storage and protection. These cans offer several advantages: they are airtight and watertight, protecting the ammunition from moisture, dust, and other contaminants. This is crucial for maintaining the ammunition’s reliability and preventing corrosion, especially in harsh environments. Additionally, the rugged construction of the cans provides robust protection against physical damage during handling and transportation.”
Around here, we’ve been reduced to looking for a weatherproof can opener for the range…
US Army spam canned ammo (192 rounds in 8 round clips) has the key stuck to the top of the can, and you use the key to open the can just like the original Spam can. I’ve bought several cans of .30-’06 from Civilian Marksmanship Program over the years.
Got something like those cans from WW2 USS (U Name It) Supply ships’ Lifeboats.

I just ignore the “annual wellness check” notice and any follow ups. Last year I just referred them to my personal doc who likely ignores them as well. I’ll have to ask her about that at my next appointment next month though. I also met with my insurance agent for our annual review. He ain’t just like a good neighbor and ain’t there. He tried, again, seriously dude change the record with this crap, pushing a tracking device to plug into the maintenance port on our vehicles to lower our vehicle rate. I impolitely told him where he could plug that thing in. Diana said my comment went over like a fart in church. I offered to take her up to the Stetson shop for a new cowboy hat. If she’s going to talk like me she needs to at least look the part.
Stay safe. 73
Jim : so you and your Dr. were handling the Medicare required “check” (while practicing strategic ignoring with the wellness check), that same fella simply needs to complete a “not expired – good to go” form. Sadly, the “check” part isn’t about checking your wellness. It’s checking a bunch of boxes on the aforementioned form.
Sad this same song gets sung on insurance agents. Instead of being paid to sell myself multiple lines on insurance I handed that off to an agent / local agency. When shite goes wrong (it always does) it’s their job to figure it out and get it fixed to my satisfaction. Otherwise, what exactly am I paying them for.
The tight spot is … don’t run afoul of the Medicare standards. Don’t go there. Then it’s not about premium cost, or representation, it’s about honoring claims after the fact. That while you or the Mrs. might be least able to devote time to insurance. Get the boxes checked folks. Not inserted to be preachy much less a scold. Words to the wise. ~ Egor
Noted. Thanks Sir.
Even “IF” you don’t have a tracking device in your vehicle the insurance companies still have ways that they get that data.
GM has gotten spanked this past year for sending the GPS data your car collects about location, speed, fast braking, etc., to an insurance clearing house. Bet if you bought your GM car new you didn’t know you gave GM the right to collect that data and SHARE IT! Don’t think you are off scott free if you bought your GM car used. Somehow GM never notices that, for this data collection procedure YOU never signed the agreement, and keeps collecting away … though AFTER the data is collected they figure out who really owns the vehicle and forwards it with YOUR name attached to the insurance data collection people.
I am sure other auto companies do the same but it was GM that got spanked badly.
OH … and don’t forget your cell phone and it’s tracking data. YEP, it also forwards location, speed, sudden movement change etc. to Google or Apple, which then keeps it in a file with your name attached. I am sure greedy Google then sells that data (they admit they do but SAY they strip off the name … SURE! – but if the data shows where you are parked nightly I don’t think the insurance company will have much trouble associating that data with YOU). Apple is probably a bit tighter with their data selling, but don’t count on it.
Just some cautionary comments about how Insurance Companies are ALREADY getting your driving data even if you don’t know it.
(when I am going on a long trip where I KNOW I will be driving a bit over the limit – say 20 to 40 mph over the limit, in some states that is perfectly acceptable, I TURN OFF my cell phone!! Just putting it in airplane mode does NOT stop the data collection inside the phone and the next time you take it OUT of airplane mode it will download all that collected data to Google or Apple)
” I TURN OFF my cell phone!! Just putting it in airplane mode does NOT stop the data collection inside the phone”
Turning your cellphone off ALSO does not stop the data collection or forwarding. When your phone is “off,” your camera, microphone, GPS, and shock sensor are still on. They can be neither turned off nor disabled. I’m not even sure a Faraday cage will disable them (a lead-lined photo bag won’t) and I am reasonably sure that if their tracking still functioned, they would upload the tracking data as soon as they were taken out of the cage.
There’s a reason modern cellphones no longer have removeable battery packs or “user-serviceable” batteries. Paranoid prepper types and espionage or sleeper cells would pull their batteries when they wished to not be tracked. “Paranoid prepper types” and “sleeper cells” are two of the demographics the FBI most-wishes to track…
That’s the truth.. years ago a friend sentme a tablet..he was a govt IT expert.. put the app!e tablet back to factory specs.. I didn’t want a tablet.. but let my three year old grandson watch cartoons on it..while making supper he comesin.papa can you change the channel..he had logged onto his cloud the machine was still on his cloud..I called him..he thought I was being a smart ass ..because that was his specialty.. I had access to everything all their phones tablets home computer ..their account information alk of it.. so I being a smart ass thought ..you think I’m being a smart ass then I will be. I could track him and his wife had access to their phones.. I could turn on their niece and cameras their bank accounts credit cards everything..so I started switching phone numbers in his phone … and downloading beevus and butthead videos..still he wouldn’t talk to me..thought I was playing with him.. then I seen a photo nicknamed the luckiest man in the world..wins the lottery and finds true love all in the same week..I edited out the girl and would drop the photo on his cloud simply named photos.. after a few minutes he would delete it.. then I’d drop it back in..did that for a week..then I said the hell with this..so I talked to his son explained it and said I’m sending that dam thing back.. destroy it.. he called and said what exactly happened I said the machine is still recognized on the cloud everything is there..I thought you were getting smart with the guys photo you kept erasing .. he said what guys photo..I sent it to him..he says..that’s the pervert ..huh what pervert.. yes this guy runs up rings my doorbell then runs away.. lol he had the police searching for him.. I said no silly that was me..each time I dropped the photo in that file his doorbell would ring..lol
that answers why in 2010 every microphone and camera came on for an hour..that was a show of force of ability..all new cars have a black box..
All modern vehicles have “black boxes” that store crash (and pre-crash) data including several minutes beforehand. These black boxes or better known as event data recorders (EDRs)—commonly called black boxes—that are increasingly integrated with networked systems. just like the corrupted guidance chips they found in the nuclear missiles .. how much control do these people have over our defense system..over 49 million acres sold many next to our home military bases..Port deals with the makers of the Club-K systems..
This page has some information on making cell phones less trackable. The pertinent links are down toward the bottom. I haven’t checked them out yet, as every time I plan to buy a phone, something else happens that costs a bunch of money to fix – just like clockwork. It could be divine intervention.

I’m skeptical, but curious.
Thanks…
Little Big Al’s Mustang EccoBoost had the Sim card taken out of the computer soon after he bought it.
I just thought I need him to do the same on my recently acquired Nissan Maxima SV( it’s a four door Z car.) I guess I’ll go to the thrift store to buy some appropriately sized cookie cans for phone storage while driving.
I would have to think about keeping the sim if car companies had free auto updates of their software like your comp does, but they want you to bring it in to the shop for that, so they can hook up to the OBDII like everyone else, and don’t need a wireless connection.
I like BAB’s idea too … I have a couple of small sheet metal tins cans, just over cell phone size, that I bought for other reasons and will be thowing one in each vehicle.
As for actually shutting down a phone … a TOTAL HARD Shut Down … I know I had to search high and low to find out how to do that for my Motorolla (a 2023 model). For that phone to do a HARD shutdown you have to hit multiple buttons simultaneously and at the same time be rapidly pressing another button non-stop. They really do make it HARD to totally shut the phone off .. but if you do that correctly – usually takes 3 to 5 tries – eventually you get a special screen that says it allows you to totally shut the phone off.
I “think” that actually totally shuts it off since as a trial after I finally learned how it could be done I shut the down, let is sit around for a week, and the battery still had a full charge. Who knows for sure though!
Neither of my GM vehicles are of a newer vintage, both are from before the On Star frequency switch when GM stopped using the old cell phone frequencies which no longer exist for most of the US (GM switched from the old G2 freqiemcies /data scheme to G3/G4 frequencies /data scheme with the 2015/2016 model year. Cell companies no longer support the old G2 frequencies and data scheme except in some mountain or extreme rural areas – the G2 system has a MUCH longer range than G3 or G4 does … remember those old 3 watt bag phones!!?? – which is why some small local telecom companies have kept those “alive” in some remote rural areas)
Pulling the SIM probably does nothing. ID and GPS info is hard-coded into the ECU and possibly the ECM and TCM as well. This is why replacing a dead ECU is such a PITA and why builders & rodders ALWAYS get the ECU and ECM when they buy a used engine. The Progressive (insurance) “Snapshot” uses the car’s OBD-II port to access the car’s existing ID, GPS, and ECM to upload information that’s already in your car’s computer system, to their sat system.
If you get a can, I suggest you insert your phone, then have someone call you, to see whether the can provides actual stealth.
Folks,
It appears that eligible Canadian adults can look forward to a $500 climate rebate payment in October from the federal government. Apparently it is to help with the “high cost-of-living”, and “encourages cleaner energy choices”.
“Dear George”,
Speaking of Russian ammunition packaging measurements, England apparently modernized its weights and measures system effective in 1826. English amounts received adjustment to become Imperial amounts. Strange as it sounds, the USA kept the “English” system and supposedly renamed it in 1832 as “US Customary Units”. With all this MAGA talk now about customs tariffs, wouldn’t this be an ideal moment to update and throw in with a Metric or Imperial system? In for a penny, in for a pound?
I said for years “Let’s all get stoned!” Yet somehow, nothing happens. Pay shills in shillings, democrats in dimes, and George in gold.

“Donald Trump Changes His Mind on Jeffrey Epstein Lawsuit. ”
as the first line in said article
“President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch has reportedly taken a further twist after the pair agreed that the media mogul could delay his deposition until after a dismissal ruling.?”
While the case is about a so called letter to Epstein, where is the letter? there isTrump v Murdock but the epstein name is only a nonplayer in the case, who’s name is used to draw the sheeples’ narrow attention span,,, quick look there is a Trump-Epstein connection in the liddle minds,,, idiots
how did it go from Epstein to Murdock, in the head line, to first sentence?
leading the no thinkin minds, feeding the TDS among US, as some still believe there is a Russian oligark with a pee pee tape.
If there was any evidence against Trump, it would be out by now, as they have tried everything to stop him, from many made-up lawfare cases, to attempting a murder of him on live TV, so it was the first rally CNN covered, how coincidental and a 1st with counter snipers in position,, they were needed to take out the patsy, the tarded kid. and then there was a cameraman front and center, with his camera set to a high speed capture rate,,, it seems so conspiritorial
Obama gave the government power to use the news media (NewsWeek, etal) for propaganda against the citizens, how communistic of him or should I say ‘fascist’
I still have my coffee cup with Trump’s mug shot,,,
Obummers turn at the cameo apperance,, smile ya liddle traitor.
the Murdock desposition,,, will he claim the government ordered him to do it? did the cia tell him to publish? is Murdock compromised to have to do as told?

2016 to today 2025 AD,,, meatless accusations for 9 years,,,
when do we get evidence of Trump is bad?
Orange you glad?
Dude – there are several different lawsuits the man settled and they bankrupted him. Copies of which are floating around internet. We are talking about what “they” thought was Mutually Assured Destruction = epstain files. Tis why tRUMP let hildog off hook 6 years ago
Though heavily redacted – they indicate past crimes. Many stories of Ghislane and his 1st wife trolling streets of NYC for young women together – strange for sure.
Optics around this are HORRIBLE, the NRG ? Worse
Have heard all this for years, from Russians no less. Notice tRUMP STFU after Medvedev mentioned the Videos ?
Something STINKS in DC, besides connedgress/feds/sc & senate. Stinks to high heaven.
What would be the best tactical time to release info on Trump- while running for office and/or as President. There was an zero hedge article the other day where I believe it was Medvedev who said Trump is foolish not to know the Russians have the film too ….
They looked for eight years and found nothing.
They looked for every minute of every day, using hundreds of FBI Agents, all of whom found nothing [which was] legally actionable.
Then they invented victims and sued him, created laws which made things not against the law, illegal, and shitcanned his 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment Rights to cripple him so he couldn’t fight back. Lo and behold, they convicted him.
When none of that ended his Presidential campaign, he was shot.
No person could possibly believe:
If there were any hint of evidence whatsoever of moral turpitude between Trump and any minor, at any time, that it would not have been made public and broadcast 24/7 for months in the lead-up to the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Elections, unless they were completely dishonest with themselves and with others, or intractably and irrevocably stupid.
Eventually every charge and judgement will be overturned.
Donald Trump is Ozzie Nelson — period.
trump’s lawsuit against the WSJ doesn’t have wheels. it was a trump distraction. trump does not want it to go to discovery. it was actually a dumb move by trump. the best thing trump can do is to not talk about epstein. the worst thing trump can do is to keep the ghost of epstein alive.
sure Jan,,, the ghost of Epstein,,, but why is House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) bringing it home?

GU : “… if you begin to feel strangely tired over the next several days – say between now and Saturday – feel free to drop a note in our Comments section below …”
Well, that happens around here every couple days George, like clock work! I put two sailboats on the course last weekend, the smaller assigned to the neighbor boy. He’s my big air crew but I’m encouraging him to sail solo (unless the wind is honking, then crew for me).
Last second tweaks to my rig were required (as usual, will I ever learn? nope).
R1 : I was late into the box but managed a quick insertion at the right spot. Tied for the start, took a shift when offered and risked separation. Came out into the new air faster than the rest so led 2/3 of the way through the race. Got tangled with a bud late in the second downhill and squandered the lead to fleet champ who slid from 3rd to 1st. Podium, nicked a boat in foto finish.
R2 : the RC (race committee) started the clock while I had the multi-part mainsheet unthreaded to work out a kink. No silly, a kink in the line (which, is a quick way to capsize). Totally stuffed the start. Rode around in the dust, never giving up. The entire fleet sailed into a hole so I went way wide for the top mark, now thinking I could win by staying in good air. Another nope. At worst moment the universal joining carbon fiber tiller extension parted from the mahogany boss stick (primary tiller). I very nearly went in backwards.
It’s a conundrum. I should have retired to protect my equipment. It occurred this would look bad, as if I refused to come in last (though DNF, did not finish) works the same. But, this is my fleet and R2 required a finish. Last …
Sailed over to the RC and withdrew from R3. Pissed. I’m finally recouped after a recent spinal injection so want to race now. I’m as good as I get and … but, strangely tired. Well, tired. And way sore. Like a crip stupid sore where rectus femoris rules. Time for training squats. Or not, hey?
ATL : wicked hazy here. We are all smoke eaters in a manner of speaking. One wonders whether our Canadian neighbors trained at a California school of forestry management? Sure wish they could return to the good old bad days where timber ruled the North. Logging requires access roads. Those roads create firebreaks and allow real smoke-eater access. Oh Canada. This is so simple, hey?
Have a fine Turn-a-round Tuesday.
Buckle up, hey?
E
ps – causal twist mentioned recently, where crypto cash (plus leverage) feeds or drains equity froth continues to work. Just sayin’, hey?

the supposed TDS is all trump’s doing. when i don’t feel my teeth, or wrist of back i like it, everything is working well. i like my presidents the same way. then we have trump who insists on controlling the news cycle. trump has to get involved in everything from nascar and blue jean ads to daytime tv, the emmys and what shows are playing at the melania trump playhouse in DC. if trump stopped creating a spectacle he wouldn’t be in the news so much.
you can’t have it both ways, someone who demands non stop attention and control of the media and then whine about TDS when the media pays attention to the petulant child screaming for attention.
Now see THAT is why you aren’t banned even though we have divergent views
Smith–Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 the U.S. government would be able disseminate public diplomacy information by the State Department
this gave the government the legaleze to lie to the American public
Trump is rightious to make comments about the lies given to the public by the lying wordsmiths, but a liddle foster daughter bather calls him ‘petulant’,,, the TDS rules in a guilty mind seeking relief from his inner fear of getting caught
I don’t remember Nixon even getting crucified as much as they have turned on Trump,, the TV shows and news media loved him, until he announced his running for president in the 2016 election,
gees numbie , whats that tell ya?,,, who is CONTROLLED and who is NOT
lawfare, news media attacks 2 impeachments and 2 assination attempts
and the numb nutz still can’t see
as liddle truth said,” i like my presidents the same way. ” like pedo joe? ask Ashley she wrote in her diary about it, but the TDS ignores her words, that book is evidence, not hear say

Fear of not being in control is common amongst Conspiricists:

‘The link between sense of control and conspiracy perceptions is well-established [1]. Compensatory control theory proposes that people experiencing control loss seek epistemic structure to order erratic environments [2]. In conspiracy theories, this structure derives from powerful actors coordinating in secret. While such machinations are not particularly comforting, perceiving conspiracies can feel preferable to inexplicable chaos. The outcome remains scary and uncontrollable, but at least conspiracies render otherwise stochastic processes coherent and meaningful.’

https://www.npr.org/2017/11/30/567477160/how-the-loss-of-u-s-psychiatric-hospitals-led-to-a-mental-health-crisis
Yeah…
About that:
The Leftists who ran media organizations like NPR got together with the Leftists at the ACLU and, between the early 1960s and the late 1990s, eliminated the vast majority of psychiatric hospitals. They eliminated them on the grounds that (essentially) incarcerating people for life, because they were incapable of caring for themselves or conducting themselves in a socially-acceptable manner, was cruel. PopUS was about 160mln in 1955 and there were roughly 160,000 filled beds in psych asylums. Today, PopUS is upward of 340mln, but there are fewer than 55,000 filled beds in psych asylums AND hospital psych wards, combined.
Decisions have consequences.
The Libs will not accept responsibility for 86ing the hospitals and asylums, and they won’t accept responsibility for the many hundreds of thousands of people living on the streets and under the bridges, who should be receiving permanent inpatient care. They deflect, and their minions in the media shift blame to generic “politicians,” which later becomes just “Republicans.”
Over time, Bernays always triumphs over reality…

Personal experience in Pennsyltucky with State Institutions.
PArents best friends had 3 Challenged Children – 2 pretty severely. The oldest one in state hosp. died from Internal Injuries – you can imagine HOW that happened.
They attracted the worst sort of Humans/People to work in those hell holes.
My best friend growing had an older brother in same facility (Pennhurst) – same exact outcome. Seems forced Anal Intercourse is detrimental to both Mind and Body.

“Seems forced Anal Intercourse is detrimental to both Mind and Body.”
But forced anal intercourse, when done under the local highway bridge, isn’t?
I guess if you get it under the bridge, you can shoot up to forget the experience, rob some old lady to make your next score, and bang the little boy or girl at the neighborhood playground to “pass it forward…”
‘Not saying the State asylum system wasn’t f’d up. I’m just saying it was better for society in general, than having the mental cripples loose and on the streets.
There’s a lot of things that are wonderful in theory, but can be (and eventually ARE) really badly fucked up by a single social, sexual, or psychological deviant…

This is an interesting concept for unwanted pets. I see wild house cats everywhere and it would be nice if the local zoo had a nice donation/recycle box for them.
Zoo calls for small pet donations to feed its carnivores
Aalborg Zoo in northern Denmark is looking for donations. Not the financial kind, but the animal kind. The zoo is asking for donations of small pets to serve as food for its predators.

You could go a step further and drop off the homeless, or maybe prisoners(sarc).
I thought that was what Wall Street Salesmen did
Wish the Philly Zoo would do something like that. Solid solution to the stray Cat problem.
We took our GrandDaughter to the Philly Zoo last weekend.
-the main highlight of the day was the Otters’ waterworld display.
You can sign up ahead of time to Feed the Otters. This might have been the busiest, most crowded spot on Saturday at the Zoo.

re: “Back to the Future Pt.2”, 1989
+ Eventide H910 Harmonizer, 1975
JC,
I hope Nostradamus is wrong, but you arguably have more hits in your post than a DJ George top 40 countdown. Please don’t mind me rambling on.
Marty McFly’s fictional Hilldale (El Monte, Ca.) suburb of 2015 -when Biff tried to change the course of history – wasn’t built in 1955. As you note in your post, there has been another earthquake in New Jersey apparently at 12:11 pm today. The epicentre is placed at Hillsdale in Bergen (“Mountain”) County.
There is a New City, New York on the other side of the NJ/NY line from Hillsdale. My rough understanding is the 17th century Dutch Orange County encompassed what was then known of the future NJ & NY. When Orange County was split at the end of the 18th century New York became the county seat of South Orange County (?) while Hillsdale and New City lost out to Tappen (“Cold Water”, aboriginal tribe) as county seat for Rockland County. Allegedly as part of the county redrawings, New City was literally going to grow into a new city “according to the Founding Fathers” (Alexander Hamilton?). However I don’t see anything other than anecdotal references to the supposed Founding Fathers’ quote. In our timeline, New City is a hamlet housing the county’s correctional facility.
Interestingly the USGS website offers an overview of recent weeks’ quakes nearest to today’s event. There appears to be a cluster of small magnitude quakes next door to Bergen County in Morris County surrounding Randolph (“Wolf Shield”, [of nobility]). The entymology of Morris apparently equates to dark-skinned as like the Moors of North Africa. By coincidence, Morris and Bergen counties (and especially adjacent Passaic County) are noted as having high concentrations of Palestinians in their populations.
The USGS website also offers links to hydrology studies. New Jersey is a region that seems to rely on substantial use of aquifers which are maybe not so far from recent quake zones. Are aquifer pressures and content maintaining historic levels? George wrote about this in the past I think. I didn’t realize that when dinosaurs ruled Earth’s single continent of Pangea, New Jersey was connected to Southern Morocco before they both became oceanfront property. Now long after continental separation Jersey’s aquifers are described as being in “rift basins”. Maybe those are not the most stable geologic structures when Mother Nature’s balance is disturbed?
Thanks to BCP for sending me off on a tangent with his Zoo Station Garten U2 reference. Apparently before Bowie did Berlin Trilogy with the Eventide H910 Harmonizer, he first used the new tech in Paris helping out on Iggy Pop’s first album, “The Idiot”. According to “Louder Sound”, Idiot producer Vincent Visconti said that the H910 “f**** with the fabric of time”. I wonder if George has the digital plug-in version installed in the studio?

Seriously it could be fixed but the fix could or would be as bad or worse than the problem..I was just getting some croissant dough at DG ..and seen an old friend he owns a delivery dam he looked good he’s lost almost seventy pounds..we got talking and he was telling me about his gang green where he had to have emergency surgery.. wouldn’t touch it until he paid ten grand deposit ..the business model of medicine.. how could he do it.. make the pharmaceutical company’s pay back the hundred billion research grants that the people pay..open the borders to allow American citizen’s the option of obtaining them elsewhere ..the fifteen thousand dollar shot in the USA that’s fifteen in canada.. or the seven hundred a month inhaler in the USA that’s ten dollars in canada and less in mexico..the citizens pay trillions to insurance companies that refuse to pay..making the insurance industry one of the best stock options to own..
just with the catastrophic health policy we paid for the wife..if all those premiums had been invested in savings bonds..we would have shy a million in savings bonds..that would be coming due now..
kids that have to clear thirty dollars an hour to get a starter home.
but fixing the pharmaceutical and medical injury would put the insurance industry the lawyers and collection companies in the similar situation..
Now we had a good vegetable soup..went to put some crackers and I swear they dissolved before they hit the soup…
Here’s a good soda cracker recipe..most crackers are pumped with air.. you can do the same to..roll the dough thin then flip it or layer it.. hit it with your docker then brush with melted butter or oil salt then cut the crackers in any shape you want..I personally like smaller crackers like oyster or the saltine minis… bake at 425 degrees ( you can wait to brush and salt till after the crackers are baked to.. bake on parchment paper .. if you like cheese or a sweet cracker mix the seasonings in the dough..
1½ cups all-purpose flour (2 cups)
2 tsp instant yeast or 1/2 cup sour dough starter
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp cream of tartar
? cup hot water
½ tsp barley malt syrup or sugar
2 tbsp vegetable shortening
Here’s a good graham cracker recipe to..
it is Smores time..
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1 large egg
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp milk (plus more if needed)
Optional: cinnamon sugar for topping
do the same thing brush after they come out sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon or sugar and cinnamon you choose..
optional ingredient.. vanilla flavoring.. ( my choice you make yours..your the boss on what you like)
crackers rolled out or fluffed should be 1/16 – 1/8 inch thick
Now those really hard crackers.. they made them for old MREs and they last forever..I call them dunkers.. great for soup dunking..
2 cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup water
1½ tsp salt (optional, for preservation)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix flour, water, and salt in a bowl until a stiff, dry dough forms. Add more flour if sticky.
Roll out dough to about ?–½ inch thick on a floured surface.
Cut into 3-inch squares.
Dock each square with a fork or chopstick—poke holes all the way through to prevent puffing.
Bake on a sheet for 30 minutes, flip, and bake another 30 minutes.
Cool completely on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container.

Malaysia does not honor patents, trademarks, or copyrights from any nation. They are the counterfeiting capital of the world — from media to designer apparel and accessories, to tools and hard goods, Malaysia is #1.

I was reading an article on “computer autonomy” when a sentence threw me off-track.
“Yes., that is right up there with the governments push to place tracking devices in all A.I. chips.”
A little digging., and that is true – though at the moment not really a ‘push’ but a ‘strong query’ of possibilities to the tech industry.
Cell phones? Yep. Once a decent desktop comes along with an A.I. chip? Yep. They [ the government] will know exactly who has purchased one and probably where it is located.
Not too sure that I like this idea very much.

Thefe have been event data recorders (EDRs)—commonly called black boxes—that are increasingly integrated with networked systems. since the nineties.. Black boxes—that are increasingly integrated with networked systems. just like the corrupted guidance chips they found in the nuclear missiles .. how much control do these people have over our defense system..over 49 million acres sold many next to our home military bases.. then cackling Kammy and the morons that opened the borders made port deals with the builders of the club-k and sold our toll roads and our industries by focusing on the perversions and greed of a few put tracking into our cellphones televisions driver store etc. Seriously what could go wrong..
There’s already a pushback. However, you can bet your last Krugerrand that, since the possibility has been broached, some geek in some garage will figure out how to do it surreptitiously, and nVidia or AMD or Intel will hire said geek, not knowing the eventual outcome of such an employment arrangement…
(“With the fiscal impact of the Big Beautiful Bill still to be paid for, He’s baaaack… Trump’s megabill expected to cost $4.1T, according to new CBO estimate. As we have been telling you for over 25-years here online: Invest in the old sure-thing in town: Inflation!”)
hmm..I seriously think that they call it a “Big Beautiful Bill,” but in reality it’s just a gilded prop—an illusion crafted to keep the economic noodle sliding across the table while the nation teeters on the edge of fiscal collapse. Behind the scenes, forensic analysts uncover a debt so inverted, so grotesquely bloated, that the only viable strategy is to keep the illusion alive until the curtain falls. The wealthiest are fed more, not because the system is stable, but because their belief in its stability props up the entire facade. Meanwhile, the American people—especially the young—are shackled by student loans designed not to educate, but to enslave. Families are fractured with debt and an inability to survive, children desensitized by media that numbs their empathy and primes them for obedience. And as foreign nations offer up resources that could shift the global balance, the probability of war grows—not out of necessity, but as a diversion, a reset button for an economy built on exploitation and gain of foreign resources offered to us if we win. It’s not just policy—it’s a playbook, one that echoes the darkest chapters of history. you can see the playbook throuout history of fallen civilizations and empires..

“Sealed 640-round ammo cans?
I never understood why Russia packaged their 7.62 X 39 rounds in such cans? If you know, pass it along.”
Sealed ammo cans keep bullets fresh for decades, without Cosmoline.
The cans hold 640 rounds because Kalishnikov’s original design called for 8-round clips (I believe the stock SKS receiver still takes stripper clips.) Therefore, one can loads 80 rifles…
Now that earns you a Gold freakin star for the week, Ray – you really DO know everything. I’ll look around for a stripper first before asking if she has an sks..
Bad mistake.
Ask about the SKS first.
If she doesn’t have one, she’s probably not your kind of gal.
(I dunno if E has one or not, but I’d bet she can field-strip one…)
(““Sealed 640-round ammo cans?”)
they can keep the ammo but I’d sure like a few of the cans..I was searching for a flour bin yesterday..I think I’m going to get a pet food container..
I bake bread quite often..
I had Ai create a personal bread recipe to fit my personality from the things I have searched for lol..now I have to make one just to see.
Bread flour 3 cups Strength and structure
Warm milk 1 cup Nurturing softness
Active dry yeast 2¼ tsp Transformation and growth
Honey 2 tbsp Sweetness and compassion
Butter (softened) 3 tbsp Tenderness
Salt 1½ tsp Balance and wisdom
Egg 1 Unity and life
Butterfly pea flower tea ¼ cup (strongly brewed) Calm and clarity
Yuzu zest 1 tsp Brightness and resilience
Instructions
Activate yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, honey, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Mix dough: Add flour, salt, egg, butter, yuzu zest, and butterfly pea flower tea. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead: Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. The dough should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
First rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
Shape: Gently deflate and shape into a loaf or rolls. Place in a greased pan.
Second rise: Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
Brush with butter: While warm, brush with melted butter and let cool.
George, you used TDS three times in this article. I damn sure am guilty of having it too.
Actually, I think TDS should now apply to the people who still believe in Trump. There are no good choices here.
Yes, immigration was a problem, yes taxes are a problem.
And I do respectfully disagree with your comparison between Tariffs and Taxes. Tariffs are a voluntary tax. If you don’t want to pay that tax, you don’t have to buy that high-end foreign car.
So, we have had a little bit of good mixed with the poison to placate MAGA.
Consider this quote from my next post:
“Donald J. Trump withholding Federal Disaster Relief Funds from states that do not swear a loyalty oath to Israel is outright evil. Clearly, he is using Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu’s tactics in Gaza.”
Scenario: L.A. gets hit with the “Big One” killing thousands of people and making millions homeless. Because they didn’t sign a loyalty oath to Israel, Trump is going to withhold relief money??? I would like to see him try.
No Epstein file, “you’re a weakling if you don’t believe it’s a hoax” because Trump says so, then dropping bombs on Iran, then more arms to Ukraine and Israel… Give me a break; I don’t do well with insults.
Does anyone recognize the pandering rhetoric? Are you tired of being insulted by this guy if you do some critical thinking???
I knew we would never get to the truth about the JFK assassination, and I knew that the Epstein Scandal was going to get erased from the public consciousness too.
Have you seen the movie Tombstone? There is a scene where the Cowboys hold up a stagecoach and murder the acting partner of Dana Delany.
The gay paid-off Deputy Sheriff tells his boss, “I’m sorry, sir, but we got to have some law.”
That’s where we are all at now. Gangsters to the left of me and Gangsters to the right. We are in that crossfire.
Truth is probably salivating about my case of TDS. But this probably will not go down too well… Here’s is another quote from my future post.
“There are two women in Congress who have bigger balls than all the men combined, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the U.S. Representative for Georgia and Anna Paulina Luna, the Representative from Florida.”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14960689/marjorie-taylor-greene-floats-breakup-republican-party.html#
Only massive public outrage will get Trump’s ego to pay attention to the crowd and not himself and Israel.
I suspect that Trump’s beliefs are generating visions of messianic glory, and that is far more dangerous than a senile Joe Biden.
I thought about your Tariff isn’t Tax argument a lot, my friend. For me (who?) seems the line is drawn outside of the political and economic domain and as a valuation based on necessity. Tariffs were once laid on luxuries, not medicines that keep us ambulatory.
Yes, IF i could buy a thing (from a domestic maker) then YES the Tariff would be just what the name means. However, if there is a medicine I need and, oh it’s only made in India, for example, then why is my NECESSITY being Tariffed (costing the same nominal dollars_) at all?
That’s where (in my recursive/limited) thinking the rubber really meets the road.
As always, I really look forward to your views and the article Stu and honored that you’d visit here.
Sleepy Joe wasn’t really running the show; Trump seems to be headed down the same path, but with different task masters. Some of his recent attributed statements, like the Israeli loyalty deal, are just disturbing as hell.
The dominant partisan gangs, their intelligence cohorts (foreign and domestic) and all manner of secret police aren’t going to allow anyone in the executive office who they don’t have by the short hairs. That has become abundantly clear.
Effects of tariffs are complicated. The effect of tariffs on raw materials and parts can be less than the effect on the whole. The addition of US labor and marketing tends to overwhelm the tariff addition. I’ve only seen one item with a really high tariff, and it was a finished product which was already overpriced, and 100% Chinese origin, which that Company was concealing. They had outsourced all production offshore, while steadily obfuscating with bullshit. The tariff caught them with knickers down.
(“George, you used TDS three times in this article. I damn sure am guilty of having it too.
Actually, I think TDS should now apply to the people who still believe in Trump. There are no good choices here.”)
Hmmm. After a forensic analysis revealed the catastrophic consequences of fifty years of corrupt and negligent budgeting, President Trump appears to have concluded from everything i have seen in the news that the situation is beyond repair through conventional means. The staggering deficit, hollowed-out industrial base, and dwindling tax income have exposed a system so compromised that even drastic fiscal reforms would barely scratch the surface. In response, Trump has doubled down on militaristic ventures—not merely as geopolitical posturing, but as a desperate gambit to secure raw resources that could, if victorious, be leveraged to rebuild and stabilize the collapsing currency. This strategy unfolds against the backdrop of BRICS nations actively challenging the fiat dollar system, proposing gold-backed alternatives that threaten to dethrone the U.S. dollar’s global dominance. Meanwhile, decades of outsourcing—driven by short-term profit motives and seduction by global capital—have left America dangerously dependent on foreign supply chains. The illusion of control persists among legislators and elites, who cling to power and project confidence, even as the economic foundations erode beneath them. It’s a tragic spiral masked by patriotic rhetoric, where the hope of conquest replaces the hard reckoning with systemic decay.
the old ..SOGOTP ( Shit Or Get Off The Pot) way back in 80.. we sold out for greed .. For decades, adversaries of NATO and the U.S. have openly declared their intent to infiltrate from within, using economic seduction and strategic dependency to weaken national resilience. Cheap industry and unchecked greed hollowed out domestic strength, while open borders—though framed as humanitarian—introduced complex vulnerabilities, both financial and ideological. Even without overt violence, the cumulative cost drives the nation deeper into instability. As Sun Tzu warned, “Appear weak when you are strong”—and it seems our enemies have mastered this art, exploiting our distractions while quietly advancing their influence. The erosion of self-sufficiency, civic unity, and ethical clarity may prove more dangerous than any external threat… not TDS .. I thought we actually all seen this coming..I sure expected it to implode way back in 2010.. In 2010, a container ship reportedly refused to offload until paid in gold—a symbolic moment that underscored the fragility of fiat currency and the shifting global power dynamics. Rather than confront the deeper implications, Congress passed laws enabling foreign entities to purchase U.S. land, further entrenching external influence. Cheap mortgages and easy credit masked the underlying instability, allowing laborers to become deeply indebted while industrialists and the top 10% saw their incomes soar. This widening gap pushed the working class into despair, eroding resilience and national sovereignty. It’s a quiet conquest—economic, ideological, and systemic—where dependency replaces strength, and as Sun Tzu warned, the enemy may appear weak while executing a long game of infiltration and control.Opening the borders to illegals from countries of the supporting the family business..we are screwed..The correction we’re facing isn’t just overdue—it’s systemic and inevitable, much like the downturn phase of the Kondratiev Wave. In 2010, when that container ship demanded payment in gold, it signaled a deeper mistrust in fiat currency and put the usa in a pretty tight spot. Instead of addressing the root instability, Congress allowed foreign entities to buy U.S. land, businesses and crucial farm land. they opened easy mortgage centers where if the people default they can take possession. , further eroding sovereignty. Cheap credit and mortgages masked the decay, keeping the system afloat while laborers sank derper and deeper into debt. Meanwhile, the top 10% saw their incomes surge, widening the divide and pushing the working class into despair. Now, as the cycle nears its breaking point, the illusion of stability fades. The reckoning isn’t just economic—it’s existential.
of course I’m just a bottom feeding catfish .. A virtual no body in the economic class structure.. but I do believe it has to happen its going to happen Weimar here we come..billion dollar loaves of bread an upside down society. what everyone is thinking TDS is just optics while he’s gambling that maybe we can win.. and if we don’t or this doesn’t escalate then maybe he a push the noodle another couple years so that the next incoming administration can adopt the situation..
G brother . i think you and that witch have nailed this week forward . the trade is sheet . like i have always said money velocity is dying . the Federali watch this closely very close . excrement would be coming out of their rear mouths fast . very fast
Zucchini… fried … crispy …. yummy…
slice it thin or thick then deep fry it.. the trick.. seasoning the way you like it.. pour your favourite oil into the deep fryer.. get your four coating.. I like a Kentucky fried flour coating..v then take one cup of your flour coating. mix it in the oil ..then heat up the oil and seasoned flour .. salt pepper or season th ed sliced zucchini your way in a bowl..then dip it into the hot toured grease do this with potatoes etc.
LOOB, slice your zucchini thin the night before. Salt well in layers. The salt will draw the excess water out. Squeeze fistfuls to get as much water out as possible. Then dip in batter ( like a tempura batter). My Italian grandmother called them pitales.
Absolutely wonderful.
