I have been experiencing extremely insightful and useful dreams this week. Not for their entertainment value, but because they answer a lot of long-held ponders. Like “What is Life all about?”
While I work on distilling this down into a (small book-length) Peoplenomics report for tomorrow, there’s some real gold already starting to pan out. Namely, getting much better at looking for “first causes” of events in life. More on that tomorrow. But here’s the question of the day.
Who Owns These Wars?
We are all “visitors to Earth” and living in bone bags of animals. Got that, OK?
Now, animals kill one-another in the wild, so it’s not too illogical to see humans doing the same thing. But here’s the stumper: For What???
We know (more or less) that it isn’t for food. OK, sometimes it’s for territory, but again, why? So we can begin to line up the other feedstocks of ego.
- The power to tax.
- The power to skim off the labor of others.
- The power not-to-work, and so forth.
So when we look at North vs. South Korea, Taiwan-China, Iran-Israel, or Russia-Ukraine, a fair question to always hold in mind is “What’s pulling the levers here – and why? What are they after?” Food insecurity may figure into the North Korean equation, obviously, but for most of today’s major confrontations, nobody is invading because the pantry is empty.
It’s especially useful today because the Fed is meeting. And again, “central banks” are coordinating rates higher. But you don’t need a grand conspiracy for that – just a friendly card game when the ante changes and everyone has to ante-up.
Or, at least so goes the thinking right now. Like war, interest rates are their own “special” kind of munition. They blow up people’s lives, just as surely as an IED. One could argue the whole system of interest is a policy that should have been banned by an annex to the Geneva Conventions long ago.
But no such annex exists — and that’s because interest rates are a munition wielded by people who don’t need the food, but have an unquenchable thirst for power and control. Each sells their own “brand of freedom” while chasing the hidden agendas of power. And the path upward is always called “Growth.” Even when we plebes lose agency along the way.
At some point – though surely not this week, of course – some of these geniuses may sober up long enough to understand that mediation and negotiation – maybe even coupled with sharing – would be a solution to our problems. If we give up on Growth at All Costs, maybe the world would have a better future… hard telling.
And the media – which is all spoken for, with a few lone exceptions by self-funded researchers on the web – are not going to give it away, either.
Growth is the Holy Grail after all. Which would be fine, except it seems to be filled with blood all the time.
Oh Look! Growth Juice!
The Empire State Manufacturing story from the NY Fed:
“The headline general business conditions index fell thirteen points but remained positive at 7.6. New orders edged up while shipments declined slightly. Unfilled orders increased, and delivery times lengthened substantially. Supply availability continued to worsen. Employment increased at a solid pace and the average workweek rose considerably. The pace of input price and selling price increases accelerated from already elevated levels. Looking ahead, firms maintained an optimistic outlook for business activity.”
The stock market has sold off a bit, so will there be a “surprise rate hold” and then a huge market reaction? OR will the Fed play along and rubber-stamp the quarter-point hike markets are now pricing in?
The answer tomorrow after lunch. Bon appétit.
Getting Back to Grail-filling
[News Compressor: ON]
The overnight news flow is getting simpler, though not more comfortable. Energy, war, inflation and interest rates are beginning to behave less like separate stories and more like one connected system.
That makes Wednesday’s Fed decision the immediate hinge.
Focus: Oil Meets the Fed
The Gulf remains the center of gravity. Houthi attacks have put additional pressure on Saudi infrastructure while the East-West oil pipeline — Saudi Arabia’s principal way of bypassing the Strait of Hormuz — remains impaired.
That matters because Hormuz itself is already operating far below normal commercial traffic levels. Damage the bypass while the main road is compromised and suddenly “redundancy” isn’t very redundant. Oil is consequently back around the $107-$109 area. And diesel is becoming a serious financial lever worldwide.
But the important development overnight isn’t simply another move in crude. The oil shock is migrating into the financial system.
Treasury yields are rising. The dollar is strengthening. Stocks are under pressure. And expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve have shifted sharply enough that a rate hike Wednesday is now being seriously discussed.
There’s your transmission mechanism:
War > Oil > Inflation > Interest Rates > Markets.
If that chain holds together after the Fed meeting, we may be moving from a geopolitical event into a broader economic one.
Elsewhere on the Radar
Russia and Ukraine continue widening their economic war. Russia struck fuel and warehouse infrastructure around Kyiv while Ukraine attacked Russian industrial facilities and an oil refinery. The ground war may not be moving dramatically, but attacks on energy, manufacturing and logistics continue.
China delivered another mixed economic report. Industrial production rose 5.2 percent year-over-year, helped by technology and AI-related manufacturing, while consumption, investment and property remained weak.
That leaves China running what amounts to a two-engine economy with one engine coughing: factories can produce, but Chinese consumers aren’t buying enough. Which means they still need customers — including us — and maybe economic interdependence remains one of the better Taiwan security plans out there. Speaking of which…
Taiwan reported another round of Chinese aircraft and naval activity around the island. Nothing in this morning’s reporting suggests an imminent invasion, but China’s continuing military and mobilization preparations remain worth watching.
Qatar is meanwhile looking for multi-year U.S. LNG supplies after damage to its own facilities. That is an interesting tell because it suggests at least some participants are no longer treating the present energy disruption as a short-lived inconvenience.
Gold isn’t acting much like a crisis hedge, either. Rising interest rates and the stronger dollar have outweighed geopolitical fear, pushing bullion lower.
Home Front
The domestic disaster sweep found no new U.S. mass-casualty event large enough to displace the international stories. Empty “grail” there, for now.
Cleanup continues following severe Northeast flooding, with rescues and transportation disruptions reported but no major fatality signal in the initial reports.
The Atlantic hurricane basin also remains surprisingly quiet for mid-September. We are wondering if reader Hank, out on the Big Island, doesn’t have a big sign outside readable from space saying “HIT ME” — for reasons that should be obvious:

Like we used to say in mid-seventies rock-n-roll radio, “And the Hits just keep on coming!” Example for the children here. Also recommended: Disappearing One-hit Wonders.
Uh…oh-oh. Ure got off track…having a Mungo Jerry moment.
Over the Horizon
Moving right along, then… The next 24–36 hours should tell us considerably more. (Like it will matter?)
The critical question isn’t whether the Fed moves a quarter-point one way or another. It is whether the meeting reinforces or breaks the feedback loop now connecting Gulf warfare, $100-plus oil, inflation expectations, Treasury yields and the dollar.
Definitely on the ridgeline now, but what is that?
BlinkLab read: The pressure system is hardening.
And for Wednesday morning, the dashboard is wonderfully simple:
Hormuz. Oil. Bonds. Fed.
Something’s bound to break…
Around the Ranch: A Writing Storm
I had a weird dream on Sunday night.
It was one of those immersive lucid dreams that happens when the ontology is trying to communicate. And that literally became an overnight book.
OK – that’s strange enough and a 50-odd page mini-book flew off the fingers Monday.
But, then the next strange thing happened – I had another “explanatory dream” and today this one will be tied onto the first one because they tell a very cool, ancient story of human origins and destinations.
And it proposes a remarkable answer to the “What happens when we die” question. And in the book, AI helps us to get to where we’re going. It’s way cool.
Write when I get finished,

Msm offers conflicting reports as to who is the perp behind the now-stricken state of Panama-flagged Panamax oil tanker vessel El Gaia (“Earth [God?]”) IMO 9325336 in the Strait of Hormuz.
The ship launched in 2005 as Kuroshio Express (jp: “black/dark + tide/current”). From 2013 to 2019 it sailed as Nave Dorado (sp: “[golden?]/dolphinfish vessel”). Dorado coincides with the Dorado Constellation. There were two US Navy WW2 submarines named Dorado. Gato class SS-248 is believed to have sunk off Panama in October 1943, but has never been found. Construction of Tench class SS-526 was halted in 1944 and the vessel got scrapped.
The Tench submarine class is named for the fish. As chance would have it, Tench Street also named for the fish in Wapping, London featured along the transport route of pirates destined for hanging by the Admiralty at Execution Dock in the Thames. Nowadays Tench Street makes up two of the four sides surrounding Wapping Gardens greenspace, a former Victorian slum. Back in the early 18th century, one part of Tench Street was known as Bird Street. Along the latter, a site predecessor to the Turk’s Head pub allegedly offered Captain Kidd a drop of good stuff to fortify his last steps before the gallows.
The pub is now a French bistro. Their website gallery of gastronomic cuisine includes a couple of non-plonky wines from the Pomerol region. Apparently the Hospitallers of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem received those current vineyard lands through donation in the 12th century. There they established a layover station for pilgrims destined to Santiago de Compostela (“St. James, Field of the Stars”). What would Billy Pilgrim say?
A musical artist from UK PM Burnham 80’s fave band The Smiths went in a new direction by the 90’s. As chance would have it, one of his music videos filmed scenes around Wapping Gardens with a glimpse of the Turk’s Head pub. Here’s DJ George with a number from Morrissey’s ‘Your Arsenal’ album, “We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful” at the following Youtube links:

LG TV’s – heads up,
LG TVs monitor virtually EVERYTHING in your house (audio recording ALWAYS alive) and data going across your router and into your internet – note if your cell phone goes through your internet that is monitored also
via Martin Armstrong initially, NY Post link below
(article give info on how you “MIGHT” be able to turn off the LG data collection)
“An investigation by Gamers Nexus, Level1Techs, and independent security researchers found LG televisions scanning local networks for phones, smartwatches, computers, and other devices, collecting information about nearby Wi-Fi networks, location and IP information, and using Automatic Content Recognition to identify what appears on the television, including content coming through HDMI. Researchers also reported finding evidence of microphone audio being captured while a television was in standby and stored locally while offline.”
https://nypost.com/2026/09/09/tech/how-to-disable-lg-tvs-acr-system-to-stop-data-harvesting-and-recording/
Long before either Lucky or Goldstar began making monochrome computer monitors, TVs (and monitors) were used to both “see” and “hear” the goings-on in the rooms in which they were placed. The reason the White House and various offices around D.C. were stripped in the ’80s and shielding installed in the walls (and windows replaced with shielded glass) had nothing to do with the “smart TVs” (which wouldn’t be along for another quarter-century.)
What “smart TVs” did was allow corporations to do the same spying+analysis+data collection as the CIA and NSA, without the fancy spy gear. My Comcast remote control has an audio transducer and is capable of both listening and broadcasting sound. This capability is always on, just like it is on my cellphone, “smart watch,” and Alexa. Every “smart TV” irrespective of brand or market level has this capability and I strongly suspect it can NOT EVER be turned off, except with a desoldering tool and a pair of accurate 4″ dikes…

Brent Sea Crude is up this morning – sitting at $108.48 – up 2.70% overnight.., but that is not the entire story.
I did a little mapping and found that every single oil refinery is absolutely ripe for attack., easily within reach of just the ‘average’ drone. A coordinate attack on two, or three of these ‘easy targets’ and the entire world would be forced to recalculate their supply-lines., agricultural output and their entire GDP.
Why hasn’t this been done already? If proxy-militias wanted the world to pay for their hedonistic ways – why haven’t they tried to eliminate, or at least curtail, one of the most important resources on the planet? It would be so damn easy.
I came up with a couple of reasons why – however, none of those arm-chair quarterback reasons should stop a fanatic from making a huge, world wide, look-at-me statement.
It is a vulnerability that seems to be protected by ‘agreement’ only. Much in-line with the desalination plants.
And that is a huge mistake.
as the great hugh hendry said . all were silent and markets where in suspended animation , and then the decision !!! and then they all started masturbating furiously together in glee . give us a break . who cares , they could spin anything they get . rates are going down but who cares . care not for all these trumponomic economic gurus . yep lets chant boyz . Oil, oil everywhere, but nary a drop of Diesel, what gives Chief ?
For Reference Purposes;
Lets take a look at the price history of the bloomberg Oil ETF = UCO, trading around $53-$54 today Tuesday 9-15-26.
The same exact ETF, UCO- was trading at $250 in Sept. 2018.
I dont recall the straight of Hormuz being shut-in in 2018, nor the red sea routes choked off. I do believe Mother Russia was pumping and delivering millions of barrels Urals Semi Sweet.
Not erus what is going on in in Oil markets, let alone the UCO. Think many peeps use the UCO as a synthetic position in their complex combo’s- Not Eye – naked aggression is my preferred investment style, no fiddle f-ing around, I dont even waste time with debriefs anymore. Simple monthly P&L is all I needz, to keep the lights on and open for Bidness.
How you like that Oil/Diesel call months back ? Bitcoinsz been holding steady and coiled..are the Leaves rustling, or is that the Bitcoin “Viper” warning of emanate strike….higher ? Gold – solid GOLD is the SHIT! second to NONE. Paper Gold ? Suckers Game. Miners at least have In Ground Resources that we can Calculate and Pay Me Dividends..just like big OIL.

Wars? Never forget the only thing that stands between us and them is him. Use your imagination if he wasn’t here. Jet aircraft crashing into American buildings. The opposite of Franklin D. “The only thing we have to fear is them!”
Any of you been molested since Trump came to town? Trump keeps us safe.
Who owns these wars? If it involves the USA, it’s we the people! The buck starts and stops with us! Unfortunately, most of us are detached from this reality. Hopefully nothing bad happens to remind us citizens of our culpability in our proxy wars!

I always liked Phil Dick’s, stuff. The Ancient Children is definitely in that vein. Sleeping prophets have been all the rage for millennia. Sound’s like PN is going to turn it up a notch tommorow.
Clif has announced he is trying to use AI for Alta data gathering, and to combat feedback issues. He issued a new abbreviated test report, and a water event is back in. It was a movie, made 2019 – Called: Angel Has Fallen.., with Morgan Freeman & Gerald Butler.
It had one of the scariest technological drone attacks ever devise. Not sure we are at that stage yet – as it would take a rather sophisticated computer system [ AI enhanced ] to manage all the drones / targets coordination. [ Because of this scene – you can ‘bet the house’ they are working on it. Given the time frame and advancement in AI – “they” are probably very close.]
.., and it looks so possible ! .., and so unstoppable..,
Here is the link: Nine minutes long – but you can skip the last three minutes as that part covers the aftermath of the attack on the President.

“Stay Frosty !”
I shouldn’t be surprised in the least if this attack is possible. The Chinese put on an aerial light-show a few months ago, using (I believe) 300,000 drones. That had to be more-difficult than the movie attack would be. The only issue I would take with it is as ballsy as the batteries would have to be, the individual drone explosions are unrealistically large. This only means you hit each target with 3 drones (or 30…) — That’s still completely doable…
And scary…
It just needs a few drones that don’t give up to get that one face.
That movie was a big wake up call on possibilities as you mentioned from one of your prior posts.
If you believe that what you are getting is free – then ‘you’ are probably the product being sold.

(“I really wish you would put together a cookbook we can purchase!!!!”)
When I was young, sacking groceries and stocking shelves at Local Markets, I actually dreamed about putting together a cookbook.
My idea was simple: take the loss leader sale items in the coupon section and write a recipe insert that used those exact ingredients. Later, when I managed three photo labs in the late ’70s, I even tried a similar idea ( brilliant me lol)— an ad insert for film processing through the Fingerhut catalog. I scraped together the money for one mailing, but not a single coupon sold.
(Years later my brother told me that to succeed you needed at least six mailings. I couldn’t afford one, much less six.) By then I was already buried in medical debt from my ex?e wife’s Dalkon Shield complications.
Life didn’t slow down after that for me. My stepson fell from a tree and impaled himself through the pericardial sac. We found out the “health insurance” the whole company thought we had was just a cardboard card — the owner was using the money to buy gold and play the stock market. Then I had a perforated bile duct that took me down with peritonitis..9 not winning just that cobblestone life road I was on) At twenty two I was staring at six digit medical debt and medical institutions that destroy the lives of wage earners… Between that and everything else, the cookbook dream stayed just a dream.
And honestly, have you noticed my writing? I can’t spell worth a darn, my punctuation wanders, and I wouldn’t know where to begin with publishing.
A couple years ago I almost applied for the website build for supplements and recipes, but I don’t have a degree or professors guiding me like an arrow toward a focused subject. That’s the real value of college — not that it makes you smarter, but that it gives you direction the path to follow. I know its read a few.. but its erratic on things that interest me at the time..or fires up my curiosity..
Even so, I’ve never kept a recipe secret. No “family secrets,” no locked away formulas. Everything I’ve learned came from necessity — recreating the things that give our household a quality of life when money was gone and circumstances were rough. If you have nothing, you rely on knowledge, creativity, and the commitment to adapt and overcome. That’s how I’ve lived, and that’s how I cook.
Never mind the spelling and punctuation, just keep on doing what you’re doing. I’m getting up a collection of your recipes.
Thanks!

Back to the Island Boys, indeed, lol, that ‘cheeky kisser’ (Don Jr had plastic surgery perfected jawline for the party), Don Jr’s wedding party paid for by Russan oligarch with criminal background/associations:
https://www.propublica.org/article/donald-trump-jr-wedding-bankrolled-russian-oligarch-umar-kremlev-putin
‘In 2009, Umar Kremlev did not yet exist.
He was in his late 20s, with a criminal record for extortion and battery, still going by his birth name, Umar Lutfulloyev
In 2010, he changed his name to Kremlev. He soon joined a Russian government-backed biker gang called the Night Wolves, eventually taking a leadership role,
Recently, Kremlev has been working to expand into the U.S. market. In July, his group hosted a bare-knuckle boxing event in Miami, a chance to showcase a particularly bloody form of the sport in which contenders fight without gloves. But the debut was overshadowed when manosphere influencer Andrew Tate, who the IBA had brought in to host, was arrested by U.S. Marshals outside the arena. (Tate is facing rape and sex trafficking charges in the United Kingdom, which he has denied.)’
Kremlev footed the bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars of wedding expenses’
Kremlev is the head of the International Boxing Association, a scandal-plagued sports group that has been financed by the Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom.
National security experts expressed alarm at Trump Jr. accepting the oligarch’s largesse, saying it raised an urgent question: What motivated Kremlev to spend a fortune cultivating the connection?
“If I’m paying for your wedding, at some point, you’re going to owe me something,” said Frank Montoya Jr., a retired career FBI official who held senior counterintelligence roles. Oligarchs
I had a vivid dream this week where I was showing young adults what lentils, grains, and beans looked like and how to cook them. The interesting part was that they had to agree to taste what they asked me to cook. Many refused to try new foods.

Years ago they wanted to do an experimental surgery.. the insurance company of the hospital I worked at..sent me hospital suggestions from around the world because of its expense.. I got a look at it last year..they took photos if the scar tissue..probably from a surgery when I had peritonitis and a burst bile duct..if they had done the surgery..it would have created even more serious issues..the first time it came up..was scarier than hell ..
now I only have extremely experienced doing the expansion cath.. I had one that when she did the stretching of the esophagus my stomach followed the Cath out..scared the hell out of her..I remember things and can hear when under anesthesia which is freaky in itself..had a hernia surgery and all they could talk about was going out to eat..I was so hungry.. . anyway she came into the room crying and shaking almost in a panic and asked me if I remembered any of it..I said no but I remember everything she was experiencing I was comfortably numb and didn’t feel anything while it was happening.. and if I had made the final journey it wouldn’t hurt as much..As some final journeys are..

Had a big time water dream last night. Got the actual boat ready with crew I knew and cast off. Soon we were making good to weather in about 12-15 and the boat felt great. Had some period of open sea then we began to sail into a huge fleet of rusty old fishing boats, like many Chinese ones I’ve seen in many ports. Total neglect. The pack got tighter around us until we were weaving all around them, avoiding any contact, but crazy close. Then a giant ‘stairwell’ opened and the fleet and us proceeded down the steps quite a ways until finally ending up in this cavernous space, our boat hauled high and dry by a small army of humans, the masthead still a ways from the concrete overhead. There were food stands, stores for all kinds of stuff, music, and still a nice body of water to float away on when we got the tide right. Woke up.
Floating is so interesting.

I will find out from my recipe critics..already having the residents making requests for their birthday meals…what are your thoughts on this pie idea I have…it would be better if I had banana pudding..I have to make something palatable from what’s available..
Ok…it would be better with banana pudding..I did think about making banana flavoring and will do that the next time I have to improvise …
2 ripe bananas ( my father loved bananas when they reached banana bread ripeness.. they are at their optimum sugar level)
1 cup milk
2–3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Instructions on how I will make it…
Slice the bananas and put them in a saucepan with the milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
Heat til it gets hot but not boiling…
then use an immersion blender to mix it..
Simmer 5–7 minutes until the milk tastes like bananas.
let it cool ..then use that for the milk you use with mixing the cream cheese and pudding..
Sitting here at work..I keep thinking onion rings…
the batter….
1 cup flour
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper ( or more.. onion powder etc.. this makes great mushrooms to even filled mushrooms..a personal favorite)
1/8 tsp citric acid
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup cold water or club soda
season flour your way…..
Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, baking powder, and citric acid.
Add cold water or club soda and whisk until smooth.
Of rat. dip the sliced onion rings in a bowl with just plain flour…
then…Dip onion rings into the batter.
Fry at 350°F until golden and crisp.
Drain on paper towels and salt while hot….
For a pitcher onion ring..use milk instead of water in the batter…
if you want a super flavor… my way…( we dont eat fried foods normally the boss says something about fats in the grease ) but..
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/4 tsp mustard powder
Pinch sage
Pinch thyme…..
or for an Italian twist 1 tbsp. of tones spaghetti seasoning ( you need to break out the spice grinder )
for stuffed mushrooms…
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or parmesan
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 pinch salt & pepper
Mix cream cheese, mozzarella/parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth…..
hollow out the mushroom by removing the stems..then stuff them dredge them in in dry flour then the batter…fry..
you can get creative with this like peppers stuffed or bad boys where you stuff a small pepper with cream cheese and chicken then wrap bacon around them…
don’t know why but just before the early morning farmers wives coffee hour I start thinking food…
The secret to the batter…is the citric acid and the corn starch.. of course you can substitute milk , cream, or buttermilk for the water..
no need for an egg dip..just make sure you roll it in dry flour before you dip it..
bad boys can be grilled..( the stuffed peppers)
Oh my god..corn dogs… same thing…funnel cakes …..I must be hungry..the coffee clutch is out now..all I have to do is three loads of laundry..before I head home lol…then I can eat before I lay down lol
