When to War, Market Ponder, 3-Day Weekend

How are your “war preps?”

This is not something people in the CONUS need to worry about – yet.  Except – and this is our first thinking bit of the morning – there is the Calendar.

My consigliere and I have spent uncountable (therefore, non-billable) time calculating the answer to the simple question: “When is the absolute best time to start a war?

Starting Wars is Problem-Filled

There are the usual “tick lists.”  Mets and Weps (meteorology and weapons packages) in the right “delivery zone.”  After all, you don’t want to start a war ahead of heavy rains, unless you don’t want pieces moving around.  And on weapons – there’s the trade-off with nukes.  If they are close to “potential delivery addresses”  (Say, Russia, for example…) how does local security look?

An example of this kind of thought might be Incirlik, in Turkey. Where open source claims of NATO nukes have centered for years.  We get the proximity to Russia thing, sure.  But it has become much more complicated with recent moods of Turkey’s government. War planning is complicated in real-time and over years?  Gads..

After weather and weapons there is the logistics problem.  The U.S. (and we in our war-gaming) really like air superiority approaches.  Aircraft move faster than, oh, deuce-and-a-halfs.  And you can get by without mess-tents if you’re only overhead for 3-minutes.

Now We Get to the Calendar

Once the general set-up of conflict is complete – and purely hypothetically here, let’s consider Iran and Israel – then comes the calendar aspects. This is where it gets complicated if you have a six-month planning window:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this coming weekend

Tu BiShvat — Feb 1–2, 2026 (evening-to-evening)
Presidents’ Day (US) — Feb 16, 2026
Ramadan — ~Feb 18 to ~Mar 19, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Purim — Mar 2–3, 2026 (evening-to-evening)
Eid al-Fitr — ~Mar 20–21, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Nowruz (Iran) — ~Mar 21, 2026 (multi-day holiday period follows)
Islamic Republic Day (Iran) — Apr 1, 2026
Passover (Pesach) — Apr 1–9, 2026 (evening-to-evening)
Nature Day / Sizdeh Bedar (Iran) — ~Apr 2, 2026
Martyrdom of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (Iran) — ~Apr 13–14, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Shavuot — May 21–23, 2026 (evening-to-evening)
Hajj begins (period) — ~May 22, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Memorial Day (US) — May 25, 2026
Day of Arafah — ~May 26, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Eid al-Adha / Eid-e-Qorban (Iran) — ~May 27, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Demise of Imam Khomeini (Iran) — Jun 4, 2026
15 Khordad Uprising (Iran) — Jun 5, 2026
Eid al-Ghadir (Iran) — ~Jun 4–5, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)
Juneteenth (US) — Jun 19, 2026
Ashura — ~Jun 26, 2026 (lunar; ±1 day)

Then you’re into the U.S. Fourth of July.  But pretty quickly – depending on if you play red team or blue – you can see how holiday kick-offs might hurt – or help – and how the usefulness of major U.S. Holidays figures in.  Particularly when reading headlines like Trump urges Iranians to keep protesting, saying ‘help is on its way’.  HOWEVER this morning there is a change of tune possible as Trump says ‘killing’ in Iran has stopped.

About here it gets complicated.  Dr. Copper (copper metal futures pricing) will often firm ahead of outbreaks on prospects of ammunition demand.  You can check copper here.

Above call, while a few of our readers are posting notes about the weight-center of US air refueling assets moving toward the Middle East, we recall that any potential war is likely to be between second (or third) tier proxies.  The three-way global power balance (U.S. – Russia – China) is about slowly moving the gravity center toward BRICS.

All that needs to happen there is a financial attack.  Oh look: Silver Price Forecast: XAG/USD surges to $93.50 record, $100 in sight.  Silver cooled a  bit, but still over $90 when we looked.

Even though we have a bit of pullback early, that’s a strategic metal and that along with food (America) and energy (America seizes Venezuela), you can see growing stresses on “The Tripod” powers.

Oh, and the short version? In war-gaming there can be a preference toward a Friday start (minutes after the close of markets) on a three-day weekend because D.C. empties out. That could (potentially) slow the American response – depending how big the holiday and what kind of public activities are in play.

For us? These variables are an investment “thumb on the scale.” Being caught, as we are, between hating war but enjoying good cash flow.

Blowing America’s “Sales Pitch”

Pappy always said – when I was doing school in the 1960s – “If you ever want to head a successful country – fight a war with the USA.  Look how Germany and Japan prospered after WW II.”

Here lately, though, some of the “America Pitch Book” has been getting tarnished.  Sure we can talk about freedom, liberty, and opportunity all day long. Normally, a simple sales pitch.

But the equality pages are becoming illegible as the U.S. stops immigrant visas for 75 countries: See the full list.  That’s because, as Elon Musk posted in the past day on X “America is 4% of world population, but illegals can scam money from the government that is higher than 95% of Earth and more than most Americans make!  America would be swamped, go bankrupt and then cease to exist at all if illegal immigration enforcement were to be defunded.”

Oh, and the other thing tattering the pitch book? DHS: ICE officers in Minneapolis shoot Venezuelan man in the leg.  So there are (pardoning the newsroom writing) a few holes in the pitch, lately.

Other pitch book stations?  Trump Funneling Money From Oil Sales To Qatar Account: Rpt

And for a country that was not a (direct) participant, how does US launches Gaza plan’s 2nd phase – The Korea Herald make sense?

God the worn out pitch book lead to a NATO crisis, too? Europe allies begin Greenland military mission as Trump says US needs island.  Elaine and I have agreed with “need” the entire contents of Ft. Knox, too.  But that, um, doesn’t, oh, you know…

But before we go full chest-thump on risk, here are a number of positive signals from below the noise floor.  (Yeah, this is the “It could be worse” section…)

Three Data Points

As headlines (because we don’t have all day here). Philly Fed:

“The diffusion index for current general activity jumped from a revised reading of -8.8 in December to 12.6 in January, its highest reading since September (see Chart 1).* Over 23 percent of the firms reported increases (up from 21 percent last month), exceeding the 11 percent reporting decreases (down from 30 percent); 63 percent of the firms reported no change in current activity (up from 50 percent). Both the indexes for current new orders and current shipments also rose in January. The new orders index rose 9 points to 14.4, and the shipments index increased 6 points to 9.5. Meanwhile, the inventories index fell 17 points to -8.4, its lowest level since July 2024.”

New York Fed Empire State Manufacturing:

“Business activity rose modestly in New York State in January, according to firms responding to the Empire State Manufacturing Survey. After dipping slightly below zero last month, the headline general business conditions index climbed eleven points to 7.7. New orders increased, and shipments grew at a solid pace. Delivery times were unchanged and inventories edged down, while supply availability worsened slightly. Employment and the average workweek both declined after increasing over the prior two months. The pace of input price increases was little changed and remained elevated, while the pace of selling price increases slowed to its lowest pace in nearly a year. Capital spending plans grew modestly for a third consecutive month. Firms remained fairly optimistic about the outlook, with half expecting conditions to improve over the next six months.”

And the current New Unemployment Filings summary (lags due to compiling time).

Mimosas for breakfast on these?  Maybe not.

In fact, smells like rally material, to us.

What’s Really Important

We spend a tremendous amount of time covering the small dance-steps as the world plays away on the end of the edge of complexity collapse into chaos.

But little stories below the “noise floor” of information overload sometimes matter more.

Take Gasoline prices.

If you drive, oh, 20,000 miles a month, then there has been relatively good news in the Triple A Fuel gauge report here recently.

Some quiet competence out of NASA this week: for the first time ever, they executed a medical evacuation from the International Space Station and brought the crew safely home on a SpaceX capsule. The details are private (as they should be), but the system worked: detect, decide, de-orbit, splashdown, medical follow-up. In a world where a lot of institutions look like they’re running on duct tape and optimism, that’s a small but real reassurance that hard problems can still be handled calmly and professionally.

On the U.S. economy front, the Fed’s Beige Book tone has been inching toward “less bad” — reporting activity improving at a slight-to-modest pace in a majority of districts. That’s not a boom, but it’s a welcome change from the kind of “stuck in the mud” language we’ve gotten used to. When sentiment turns even a little, it can matter at the margin for hiring plans, capex, and household confidence.

And for those of us who like to see money pointed at real-world problem solving: the 2026 Hill Prizes were just announced in Texas, aimed at funding high-risk, high-reward research with practical impact potential. It’s philanthropic venture capital for brains — not a guarantee of success, but a reminder that there are still people writing checks for discovery instead of just yelling on the internet.

Around the Ranch: To Holiday, or Not?

My cold is slowly leaving and look at the calendar!

Why, there’s a holiday Monday – should we gather, do the coffee thing, and see if a war pops (I’d bet against it)?

  1. “complexity collapse into chaos”……….It seems the “fourth turning” is about to get really interesting.

  2. Dude G, ATFKM ?

How in the hell can we as country go to WAR with anybody, when our own “best &brightest” Doctors, Physicians..neigh the entire US Medical Community CAN NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHETHER A MAN?MALE CAN GET PREGNAT?!?!?!?!?!!?????
Board Certified no less OB/GYN and Medical School Professor COULD NOT ANSWER THS QUESTION YESTERDAY IN DC UNDER OATH.
PLEASE read that last again, Ill wait.

Seems the whole shebangabang is being RUN by complete utter F-ING MORONS, orange man DARK included. As Pogo used to say – “I have met the enemy, and he is Us”.

    • Lol lol lol…What’s striking about that issue isn’t that biology is complicated — it’s that public conversations about it have become so tangled that even highly trained professionals hesitate to give straightforward answers under pressure. Human biology hasn’t changed: pregnancy requires a uterus, and only individuals who possess one can carry a pregnancy. That’s a simple anatomical fact whether an individual seeking a sex change can have a Uterous added or not .

The confusion comes from the social and linguistic debates layered on top of the biology. Scholars and physicians sometimes freeze in these moments not because they don’t know the science, but because they’re navigating a cultural minefield where any answer can be interpreted politically rather than medically and their comments used to devalue them in their profession…

There are rare intersex conditions where someone is born with both male and female anatomical traits, but these are medical exceptions — not the rule but it happens like the sea horse. The irony is that the more society argues about language, the harder it becomes for experts to speak plainly about the underlying science. So with this in my thoughts..I can see why they refused to answer..I once read an account in an AMA journal about a woman that received the fertilized egg of an animal and gave birth to a goat lol lol now I didnt read a follow up of that story.
My thought is it was probably a Teratoma which is something that happens normally..no way in hell can a person u be birth to an animal.but they did write a syory about it happening..Now A teratoma is a type of tumor that can contain: that, hair, teeth, bone, skin, even structures resembling limbs
They form from germ cells that appear as an animal at birth— the same cells in the tumor can become eggs or sperm — so they can differentiate into many tissues resembling an animal…

      • “cultural mine fields” “political”

        ABSOLUTE COW PADDIES, Loob

A strong, rigorously trained Mind/Person in Medical would never allow such emotional tripe to enter their minds in the first place. A Yes or No answer is required, and she was unable to complete the Thought, as if she were rendered Brain Dead.

“Weak, feeble minds ONLY would even engage in Thinking like you describe above with “political” and or “cultural minefields” considerations. That “doctor” has obviously been compromised by someones/things.

What are we all F-ing Seahorses now ?
BCP during traffic stop after JohnnyLaw pulled over the Shaggin Wagon’
‘Yeah yeah officer I identify as Seahorse, so Im not really Raping this Female “Seahorse”, so much as I am just Playing around with Her”

        Beam me up Scotty..

        • Lol lol lol..Now that there makes me think about this issue again and.

The irony on this instance about the doctors refusing to answer the basic question is that this isn’t about them having weak minds or that they have an emotional fragility — it’s about the fact that even the most basic biological questions have become wrapped in layers of social and political interpretation that can be used later to bring their professional place in question. The underlying anatomy hasn’t changed and will pretty much always stay the same. Pregnancy always requires a uterus. That’s not political, cultural, or philosophical — it’s physiology.

When a straight forward question posed to professionals in the field produces a hesitation to respond to respond to the question with the simple yes or No or that it doesn’t mean that the science is unclear. It means the environment around the conversation has made clarity feel risky to answer with a simple Yes or No. And that’s the real problem they faced: when experts can’t speak plainly about simple facts of physiology, and the issue isn’t basic biology — it’s the climate we’ve built around discussing it or the simple facts of life that every child should be taught…

    • I truly wonder about what kind of creatures inhabit Washington, DC! We have a Supreme Court justice that is apparently female, yet cannot define what a woman is, and some allegedly female Ob/Gyn specialist MD that cannot answer whether or not men can get pregnant! The latter seems to be addicted to gibberish:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hymaQWjBOqM

Amazingly, she bears a strong resemblance to AOC, and even sounds like her, though whether or not she’s a woman or can get pregnant is indeterminate. Heisenberg and Schrodinger would be impressed.

      • Lol lol…At this point, I’m not sure if they’re creatures… or just people who forgot how to act like humans. Either way, the ecosystem in D.C. seems to evolve faster than biology can explain.

    • Hmmm, that would be a deadlier winter and $1M FRN Bitcoin pricing for starters no? Coif’s got some cool novel technology there, and the gift of the hysteresis in prediction set outcomes, well let’s just say it’s great to be early.

Got blockchain? Not advice do your own homework.

    • “Board Certified no less OB/GYN and Medical School Professor COULD NOT ANSWER THS QUESTION YESTERDAY IN DC UNDER OATH.”

      Meh…

      DEI hire.

      Unqualified.

Jerk her medical AND teaching licenses, her certifications, and ban her from ever practising medicine or education again.

Rinse and repeat for everyone else in the “medical community” who’s similarly, scientifically-challenged.

      End of problem.

  3. Woke up this morning, turned the TV news on and took a few second to know if I was watching the streets of Tehran or Minneapolis. Sheesh.

    • Minnehopeless has been invaded by the best professional protestors money can buy.

The Leftists already established the benchmark by locking Jan6ers up for four years, for low-level misdemeanors — the vast majority without hearings (how does a jurist justify a multiyear sentence for a tort which carries a maximum $500 fine and 30-day jail term?). The Minnesota Solution is to simply arrest every protestor who crosses the line into criminal behavior and lock them away until the ICE operations are complete — preferably in the same gulag in which the Jan6 protestors were housed.

The Republicans can’t do that, because the Leftists own all the common channels by which John and Jane L. (Low-information) Voter get their daily news and Democrats would slay them in the 2026 and ’28 elections, but it IS the solution. I don’t approve, but our Democrats set the bar, and politics is a very dirty bloodsport.

  4. Black Sabbath – “War Pigs”

    Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
    Evil minds that plot destruction
    Sorcerer of death’s construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
    Death and hatred to Mankind
    Poisoning their brainwashed minds…
    Oh Lord yeah!

    Politicians hide themselves away
    They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Yesterday Mar-a-Lago breakfast menus under Star of David cover announced a “Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast”. Separately as dusk fell, Tiger Woods along with 300 esteemed guests celebrated his 50th birthday at The Breakers, Palm Beach, Fl. Shindig sponsor EY US signage points to a London-headquartered consigliere of the Vatican. The sponsor’s EY-Parthenon building towers over former blighted Thames dockland decayed streets now trodden down beneath its massive footprint.

That valued Florida beachfront property known as The Breakers first saw development in the late 19th century in the person of a co-founder of Imperial Oil of Ohio, Mr. Henry Flagler (“descendent of the standard-bearer”). The current edifice celebrates its centenary this year.

Tux clad birthday celebrant of “Sunday Red” fame had invited his guests to “wear a touch of red” to his party. A Presidential First Grand-Daughter, Kai (ha:”sea/ocean”), modelled a brilliant red formal gown worthy of a Greek Siren along with a white plaster of paris cast adornment perhaps to cover a fractured port-side wrist. Sea of Galilee sandal flats provided foundation. Her accompanying mother Vanessa, ex-wife of #47, cut sharp form in a lightly snowflaked obsidian below-the-knee number matched to a pair of ‘Stormy Daniels’ worthy red heels. The pair posed in front of two framed photographs of yachts under sail. According to ChatGPT, the name Vanessa dates to circa 1713 from the pen of Jonathan Swift as Van + Essa -nickname of Esther- for his Irish-Dutch lover, Esther Vanhomrigh (nl: “from a low-lying river meadow district”). Vanessa became memorialized in his 1723 poem “Cadenus (Jonathan Swift anagram) and Vanessa” upon their breakup after he had fallen for another Esther (Johnson).

A multi-billionaire owner of the NFL Atlanta Hawks football team and patron of Tiger Woods’ charity donated $20 million towards the $50 million achieved charitable goal for the 50th birthday celebrant. As chance would have it, the patron enjoyed first employment following completion of school studies at a predecessor firm of birthday gala sponsor EY US. He went on to cofound DIY colossus Home Depot.

An expanding Roman Republic took on a four powered Samnite League at the decisive Battle of Sentinum (“place at the crossing of the paths/low-lying place by water”) in 295 bc to close out the Third Samnite War. A faltering left Roman flank received rescue from its leader Publius Decius Mus whose voluntary self-sacrificial Devotio restored Roman fighting morale and delivered victory. As chance would have it, loyalist Michael Anton allegedly rallied MAGA factions with Devotio references during challenges in the election of #45. He became the 33rd Director of US State Department Planning Staff, known as “The Planner”, from January to August last year.

DJ George knows more than a few good dock stories since Otis Redding sat on one in 1968. Another example appears to be John Bongiovi Jr., son of two marines, lately of New Jersey whose family emigrated from Sicily. Has it really been 40 years since Bon Jovi charted 15× platinum with their third album “Slippery When Wet”. Last night Bon Jovi played Tiger’s birthday bash at The Breakers. I don’t know if “Livin’ on a Prayer” made the set list.

Speaking of Sicily, YouTube channel “MOBFAX” promises historical video clips “for educational and historical purposes”. A clip posted almost four years ago coinciding with the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II has received renewed viewing interest given recent special military-type operational events in Venezuela. Yes, Merlin, it really has been 33 years since a few fine folk sat down to speak with the late Mike Wallace of “60 Minutes” about an alleged cocaine connection at the following YouTube link:

      https://youtu.be/IF-IYdsFGrw

By the way, the YouTube channel’s video watermark maker operates as a subsidiary. Its AI parent company offers information in the public domain about its business associations which include various public security protection entities.

What’s even worse than her lack of intelligence and qualifications, is the fact she’s relatively young, so she’s a DEI hire who’ll be on the Court for DECADES…

  10. Prussian military historian Carl Von Clausewitz penned the classic “On War” shortly after the Napoleonic Wars. He distilled armed conflict down to an organized inherent expression of natural human aggression on a massive scale. Many of his ideas are still taught today to military and political students and leaders. Among them is this little gem:

“peace is maintained by the equilibrium of forces, and will continue just as long as this equilibrium exists, and no longer.”
? Carl von Clausewitz, On War

Which lends credence to Reagan’s borrowing of Neville Chamberlain’s “peace through strength” quote, putting an entirely different Cold War spin on the phrase.

But Eisenhower, who witnessed the horros of WWII up close and personal, has one of my personal favorite quotes on the topic, tying war to the ever voracious industrial complex simply because war = money and power.

“In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.” President EIsenhower’s farewell address, 1961

    • With respect– the original Ike quote was -“the Military-Industrial Congressional complex”. That puts into perspective, no?

  11. My brother in law always had leave to visit family and friends just before being deployed into an active engagement during a major holiday!!!.. now does that mean engagements happen during holidays…. i have been re-reading the classics trying to get a handoe on this while taking breaks at work…If we step back from the noise of the present moment, look at current events unfolding right here at home.. a troubling continuity begins to emerge: societies rarely collapse from a single event during a holiday or not, but from the long refusal to confront the truths That are already visible within our own lived experiences here at home.

What fascinates me is how often individuals interpret the systemic strain as personal failure, while those insulated by privilege interpret their insulation as evidence that no strain exists at all whether its an active military aggressive event…organ economic one..they both reek that there’s a breakdown of moral and ethical viewpoints…

This divide in a system that’s blind to the systemic collapse focuses — between those who feel the weight of the system falling apart at the seems and those who benefit from its momentum Seeking a view of obtaining what they value more than what they could obtain if they made more honorable decisions..(AKA an company owner seeking instant wealth while avoiding the needs of his work family by seeing them as disposable)— this is not new its happened in every civilization that has fallen through history. It appears in the writings of Confucius, in Mencius’s warnings about rulers who cannot perceive the suffering of the people, in the Daoist critique of artificial order, and even in the parables of Jesus, where blindness is rarely physical but moral and structural.

The question worth asking is not whether our era is unique or that wars happen during holidays, the cold of winter when nature makes a valuable weapon against the people of the society.. I have always had the opinion that’s the best time and that because our country didn’t see the population worth of being prepared for..not like other countries that built massive bunkers ghost cities and factories.. put up power plants across their county…( oh this is a perfect opportunity for me to blant out my rants on smaller solar towers at every substation and using the general populations homes as nodes by handing out grid tie solar power systems lol lol) but whether we are repeating the same cognitive pattern that precedes decline where the nuclear winter happens those going into their underground bunkers thinking they will survive even though the opponent already know every entrance and exit points..Then show up with supplies and equipment to be seen as heroes to those surviving the situations..( remember COVID when Russia sent plane loads of equipment that we were unable to obtain being a good neighbor…).Instead it is the inability of a society to recognize its own contradictions because doing so would require admitting that the framework of their actions itself is failing. Scholars often study collapse as an event, but perhaps the more important study is the psychology of avoidance of their moral and ethical actions that precedes it.

    • Conscription applies only to the citizens. The Muslims refugees get to stay home to tend to the home fires. There will be no UK left to return to.

      • Sturmer is driving the Brits toward armed conflict with Russia, in Ukraine. The Brits need the war, so as to not notice their government has sold them off as slaves to the invaders. Same for the French, Belgians, and Germans.

I predict Trump will end our membership in NATO within 24 hours of any of the above moving troops toward kinetic war with Russia. I also predict the U.S. will not save their sorry asses this time, and any surviving British combatants won’t have a country to go home to.

We lept 5000 years ahead of Ureup, both socially and civilly, in the 18th Century. Ureup spent 100 years trying to catch up, and, finding that an impossibility has now spent ~135 years trying to drag us back down to their level. I don’t believe Mr. Trump will let that happen, and I sincerely hope whoever follows him will be of like disposition WRT the Euroweenies. After about 2030 it won’t matter, because they’ll either all be dead, or they will have extricated their upper extremities from their bowel cavities and rejoined the human race…

I’d be really interested to know whether they went north or south…

  14. Hey George, Do you remember this?

Barack Obama stated, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded”.

Remember he stocked various Federal Agencies with guns and ammo? Where is the audit and inventory on those weapons?

Were those shipped off to some Muslim compound within the USA? Minnesota by chance? Instant foreign militia on our soil?

    • My cousin is a forecaster with the National Weather Service. She and her hubby get matching (Glock, SIG, S&W or Colt, depending) 9’s every two years, plus all the ammo they can shoot and anytime access to the range at the local military base.

Obama’s guns are still here. So’s the ammo.

The terrorist compounds within CONUS (there are now more Chinese communists than Muslim fanatics) supply their own small arms — mostly in 7.62×39…

      • Lol lol lol… I wouldn’t even know how to load one..
I have a pepper ball gun..but its still in the box and that d have to search for the pepper balls..but have a police taser to..but I don’t have batteries in it.. I was to scared the grandkids would find it and think it was a toy..
but.. because of a few threatening texts to a few of the elderly in our community..( I was one ) there was a neighbor that had passed out .. six neighbors ran out with NUGS ( guns) just in case they needed to be protected..the trauma crew was there in less than five minutes..

        • I almost bought a Byrna until the first time they got sued for their “less than lethal” ball & teargas flinger killing someone. I opted instead for a SIG365. I figure if I can’t avoid potential litigation I might as well have guaranteed stopping power…

        • wow @Ray.. that’s what I bought.. I hadn’t read anything about someone dying.. I just wanted something that can get us to the neighbors..or safety..

  15. Add this to the ‘ticked’ list, ‘Bro’ Rogan ‘ices’ Trump by comparing ICE to Gestapo:
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/15/joe-rogan-trump-ice-gestapo

‘Joe Rogan’s comparison of US immigration raids to Gestapo operations, made during a podcast episode earlier this week, has sparked speculation about whether the wildly popular podcaster, who endorsed Donald Trump in 2024, has fully soured on Trump’s presidency – and what that might say of the millions of mainly young men who listen to Rogan’s show.’

Treat the Cause (non use of Everify), not the Symptoms (illegal workers).

News of this magnitude I believe remind us how thin the veneer of modern civilization really is. Humanity reaches these forks in the road again and again — points where technological power outpaces moral restraint, and where a handful of decisions can shape the fate of millions.

Across history, the pattern is the same: when societies pursue dominance, extraction, and short?term gain, they eventually collide with the limits of their own aggression. When they choose cooperation and restraint, they survive.

The Mahabharata understood this long before modern geopolitics existed. It teaches that when conflict escalates beyond wisdom, the world doesn’t end — but it resets. Humanity continues, but stripped of its illusions, forced to rebuild from the ashes of its own excess.

The real question isn’t which side is right or wrong. It’s whether we’ve learned anything from the civilizations that came before us — or whether we’re preparing to repeat their final chapters.

will mankind start from square one all over again?
I sure hope that this is not the final setting..every academic study says the same thing..only a few will survive….

And that’s the part people rarely grasp: civilizations don’t just lose people in a catastrophe — they lose memory. The survivors aren’t the scholars, the archivists, or the engineers. They’re the ones who happened to be far enough from the blast, or lucky enough to find shelter.

When the dust settles, the libraries are gone, the servers are ash, and the knowledge that took centuries to accumulate evaporates in a single generation. What remains are fragments — half?remembered truths, distorted stories, and echoes of a world that once was. its also why I teach my grandkids basics..like how to make paper and pencils..

This is why ancient texts like the Mahabharata feel so eerily familiar to what we are seeing unfold now. They aren’t just myths; they’re warnings from civilizations that watched themselves climb to great heights, only to fall back into the dark and rebuild from scratch.

If humanity ever faces such a reset again and if these threats come to fruition, the next age won’t begin with the wisdom we have now. It will begin with whatever scraps of memory survive around campfires — stories of machines that flew, lights that came from nowhere, and a world that forgot how powerful it once was.

  17. Hi Everyone , I thought that some of you might be interested in an update
on the Minnesota situation from a local perspective. If you already have
your expert opinion based on your political bias then disregard this. I will
try to be mostly factual at first and save my opinion till the end.

Let me clear up one thing right away , this has NOTHING to do with the
vast fraud that has taken place in Minn. The fraud is real but that is NOT
what this is about. It only confuses the matter. This is about immigration
supposedly but really about Trump’s personality ( opinion ) and Federal power. WE have a very fucked up govt here in Minn to be sure but this conflict is not about that other than perhaps the 4th and 10th amendments.

The conflict is VERY real and VERY emotional. This is a situation of local
vs federal NOT left vs right. The “protesters” are not just some blue haired
crazies , it covers a vast cross section of society. It is almost a perfect microcosm of a Civil War as citizens vs the govt however there are 2 well
defined sides among the citizens. Citizen upon citizen conflict has been
little to none , anger is entirely directed at the govt. SO FAR this is absolutely
NOT a riot situation. Snowballs have been thrown , nasty words have been deployed as well , some fireworks set off by protesters and last night some genuine vandalism of 2 FBI cars. THAT’S IT !!! No significant violence other
than by ICE agents. Stop calling it a riot ( so far ).

The violence by ICE is very real , not at all surgical or limited , and is pretty much applied to anyone that they choose to target for whatever reason.
That’s just the fact of it. We all should be REALLY concerned about the
power being used here and the violent way it is being deployed. This is about
the limits of our Govt and the very core of our freedom ( opinion ).

The immigration issue unfortunately has been reduced down to only 2 sides
for the benefit of stupid shallow people. You are either for them or against them.
They are ALL either criminals or saints , no other thoughts allowed. The
aggression and violence is not limited in any way to gang members or
criminals or even to any particular racial group. This is about obedience pure
and simple. An excellent training opportunity for the sheep.

Enough for now ( but there is more ) . HINT : they are looking for a warehouse
to use as a long term ICE detention facility in a Mpls suburb. About 25 more
around the country that they admit to. Can you say FEMA CAMPS ?

    • Texas has more illegals than pretty much anywhere. If locals started harassing ICE the way I have seen in Youtube videos from MN, I would expect major casualties.
Local, ICE is more like a known environmental hazard than a sinister invasion. Stay out of their way, let them serve their warrants, and they go away. And yeah, some of the people they grab should have been left alone, but that isn’t my call. As far as I know, the immigrants within my sphere all now have green cards or have been naturalized. Their kids are native-born citizens. They own property; some own businesses. ICE isn’t hounding them, but if they get involved in criminal activity, like vigilantism, they eventually get stepped on.
Living MN residents have been in a little immigration policy bubble, oblivious to the real world. Now that they have been dragged kicking and screaming into the real world, they are acting like 2 year olds behind the wheel of 3500 lb kinetic kill weapons. ICE needs to be distributing spikes to deal with the issue, and use them. I also want to see some of those less lethal CO2 powered launchers put to good use.

      • Being a child of the Vietnam War protests … and the Black Riots of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and of course George Floyd in the 2020’s a few things I have noticed via the TV coverage of the Minn. events.

BLACKS are totally missing from all of the TV pictures …. they would NOT be missing if they were now supporters of illegal immigration and saw those illegal immigrants as their comrads in arms.

Young college students, not the one off younger person here or there who is NOT a current college student, but students in the THOUSANDS such as populated the Anti-War demonstrations of my youth, AND the Civil Rights demonstrations of my youth, are also TOTALLY MISSING.

Where are the construction workers? Where are the factory workers? Where are the truck drivers? Where are the farmers? Where are the nurses and Doctors? Where are the union guys/gals from electricians to plumbers to just factory line workers? Yep even Where are the public employee union people?

What I do see on TV is a bunch of Middle Aged to Older WHITE, RICH, and apparently “college educated” people, or anarchist types (those have always around in the US going back to the 1880’s though always in low numbers), who seem to love being confrontational and love to play to the camera. Many (mostly?) female.

“n”‘s comment about Texas is DEAD ON. Texas has more illegals in one city than Minnesota does in the entire state, yet you don’t see people fighting with ICE down there. There ARE bad apples out there, but Minnestota and it’s population does NOT want to recognize lawbreaking when it is staring them in their face.

Clearly Minnestota has the Governor and Attorney General they WANT and DESERVE …. political leaders who HATE the real workers of the state, who HATE honest people, who will do anything that they can to destroy the economic foundation of the state as they promote values that CELEBRATE mass theft from the public coffers for their chosen “annointed” “special” groups.

        Minnesota is a lost cause.

Time to be thinking about cutting off ALL Federal Government payments that are sent to that state.

    • KEVIN O’s post is complete tendentious, hyperbolic codswallop. First some ineluctable facts (1) ICE is engaged in making immigration offense related arrests. (2) In doing so ICE is enforcing immigration laws enacted by previous bi-partisan congresses (4) enforcing immigration laws is the specific purpose for ICE as envisioned by both the Congress and the Executive. (4) In some states, state and local law enforcement officers actively assist ICE in enforcing these immigration laws. (for example Texas and Florida just to name two) (5) In other states, state an local law enforcement do not assist ICE in this enforcement action, but will come to the aid of ICE agents who are being attacked/obstructed in their lawful actions (6) In some other states, state and local law enforcement do not assist ICE in their enforcement actions and further, craven local politicians have ordered those local law enforcement agencies to *NOT* come to the aid of ICE agents even when those agents are actively being attacked/obstructed in their lawful actions (for example Minneapolis) (7) In some states, state and local law enforcement and local political leaders do not permit wide spread lawless/anarchist demonstrators to take place in relation to local ICE operations (See Texas and Florida) (8) In other states, not only do local law enforcement and political leaders do *nothing* to stop lawless/anarchistic demonstrations related to lawful ICE enforcement, those agencies and politicians actively encourage such actions with wild rhetoric designed to inflame demonstrators and endanger ICE agents (See Minneapolis). (9) In those states that do *not* assist ICE ,DHS must necessarily send more ICE agents to enforce immigration laws than to those states where local law enforcement cooperates. Both to achieve their enforcement goals and to protect themselves in the absence of assistance provided by local authorities. (10) The top ten states (in descending order) where the most ICE Immigration arrests have taken place during the last calendar year are: Texas; Florida; California; Georgia; Virginia; New York; Arizona; Tennessee; New Jersey; Pennsylvania (11) Temporary holding facilities have been established to house ICE arrestees pending deportation in several of those states (SEE Alligator Alcatraz) It may be important to note that “FEMA” camps (whatever they are *supposed* to be in the fever swamp imagination of TDS sufferers) have not been set up in any of those top ICE arrest jurisdictions. (12) Minnesota is NOT in the top tier of states where ICE arrests have been made. Yet: (13) None of the top ten states listed above have suffered the same type and or level of anarchistic lawlessness that is currently on display in Minneapolis. So, what conclusions can be drawn from these hard facts: The violence and mayhem on display in Minneapolis are the desired outcome of Minneapolis politicians and law enforcement. Specifically they are the result of a cynical and malignant political calculation by those craven “leaders” that places both ICE agents and local “citizens (law abiding or otherwise) at risk. The risks to life limb and property on display in Minneapolis can be avoided (as they have been in numerous other states) by (1) allowing ICE to carry out its lawful purpose un impeded (2) assisting ICE in that endeavor and (3) simultaneously preventing local and or outside demonstrators to stray from the limitations of protected First Amendment activity. Other hyperbolic, TDS tinged, doom porn conclusions about government oppression and the dark days ahead are unsupported by the facts that obtain.
