Markets

Going into the close this afternoon, markets will debate whether next week will see a blowdown from Monday ahead of the Fed meeting on rate.  Or, if the boom will zoom till out of room.

Gold was within $5 spitting distance of $3,700 this morning and silver already topped $43 for a few minutes.  BTC  waffling around $115,000. But come one!  With free money ahead, what could possibly go wrong?  *(lots…)

Pick a War – Any War…

Pissed off the war-monger crowd, yes he did: Trump Downplays Russian Drone Incursion into Poland as ‘Mistake,’ Drawing Sharp Rebuke From Allies.

But, we’d remind you of several things here (though we’ll stop short of endorsing anyone’s view):  First? War is good for business. So not surprising to see Putin’s Poland Play Is to Discredit NATO as Ineffective — and Trump Can’t Let It Succeed | American Enterprise Institute – AEI.  And, since this – in turn – feeds into the OHM (orange hate meme) it follows that President Trump visits Yankee Stadium for pre-game 9/11 ceremony; security heightened in wake of Charlie Kirk shooting.

Trump, seems to us, it trying to keep the US out of being sucked into a ground war in Europe.

Or, what will be left of Europe.  See, France is in the middle of imploding.  What the Battle of Tours didn’t get done, modern liberal politics did.  Consequences? Hundreds arrested this week in the “block everything” protests.  Explainer? France’s ‘Block Everything’ protests explained as armed police take to streets.

Sure, there’s a new face appointed by Macron *(France’s new PM Sebastien Lecornu vows he’ll work ‘creatively’ with rivals amid protest chaos on the streets). Around here, the view follows along the lines of France Is Officially In Free Fall (But Is Far From Alone) – OpEd – Eurasia Review.

But the deal point is whether France can gin-up an external threat to get a lot of military-aged males at home involved in something besides protests.  One route? Get a war going.  Which to us dovetails into France deploys three Rafale fighter jets to shield Poland after Russian drone incursion.

When in doubt war. Like my late friend, a Big City fire chief – who went on to head the city electric utility – schooled me:  “Keep the troops stirred up and they won’t come after you…”

That’s how history rhymes and Europe’s got, um,. “issues” shall we say?

How do good people have a great life when times are crappy?

Simple answer: Out-plan and Out-maneuver.

Around here it begins with a strategic view of what next week is sure to bring.  We do a Systems, Forces, and Effects pass.  Today’s rolls like this:

“Systems

Markets roll into next week with three major systems already in motion. First is the monetary system, where the Fed meeting isn’t just about the quarter- or half-point cut but about credibility. Gap Analysis and Fills:  Our weekend planning began Tuesday so any Amazon orders would be in to nail the weekend’s list. Tractor fuel filter assembly landed Thursday, for example.

Part of this is the food plan for the coming week – that will be delivered between 11 and 1 PM today – Walmart is using two-hour windows. Sure, we tip the drivers well. But look at what they do for us?  For one, they save 90-minutes of driving and wait time – that’s got a dollar value, right?

Point to all this?  Anyone can “nail the weekend” (and a good chunk of next week, too).  You just have to leave “living in the moment” long enough to “get outside of time” and see where you’ve been, where you are at this ex-ct moment, and where you’re going.  Lay it all out, then staff it and order it.

Then you can get back into the Zen of just doing…

And that, brothers and sisters, is how at 76.6 years of age, you can still get more out of life than whiners who sit at home in front of stupid screens proclaiming their victimhood.

Movers and shakers?  We run to the adventure of Life.  Like the old carton said “No time, Toulouse!”

    • collapse is a multi faceted event . usually greed plays an important role .. unable to address the very systems they create for their profits .. leaving the very systems they design lacking enough that it implodes under their desires… Tainter wrote a great book on the collapse of complex societies.. the events not seen and separation..what affects my life doesn’t affect others. I got a first hand look at this when in vacation in a gated community.. if someone had told me life like that existed..I would have thought they were blowing smoke up my butt.. totally different world with it’s own set of problems that are not associated with the issues of real life of the wage earner..

    being the catfish here in this pond of higher educated individuals.. I hover at the laborers edge and seen more than my share of odd crap that has slapped me upside the head more than once . had my life fe destroyed by the angels of evil in the medical collections and bent over by our insurance industry among other things . to maintain a quality of life.. it requires a sense of humor and the ability to adapt and overcome..you don’t have to have a lot to have an enjoyable life.. just be creative and willing to keep moving forward..if you give up you lose.. remember the monopoli game..it was created to entertain during depression.. on a sheet of oil cloth.. gave one to the wife we collect monopoli games..
    when I was little you never told mom I’m bored.. she had us doing every thing..
    Adapt and overcome… got a young woman that’s battling this now … her husband got sick and she’s faced with huge issues.. and no income..told her to hang tight with dancing with the devil on medical collections..it’s her battle now.. she was crying yesterday and couldn’t believe it all .     when my grandson was venting about furniture cost I said use cardboard boxes..they are free and you can make just about anything out of cardboard..or paper.. he thought I was touched so I had to build something for him . several years ago now and it’s still working looking great..the only change I’d make..screw the casters in wood not cardboard..

    Eggtastic… addictive my good..
    6 – 12 large eggs
    2 tsp salt
    1 Tbsp white vinegar
    ½ cup soy sauce
    ½ cup water
    ½ cup rice syrup or honey
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    4 green onions, chopped
    1 green chili + 1 red chili, sliced
    1 Tbsp sesame seeds
    Boil the Eggs: Bring water to a boil with salt and vinegar. Gently add eggs and boil for 6 minutes (for Simi runny yolks) or up to 10 minutes (for firm hard boiled yolks). Transfer immediately to an ice bath and cool completely. just a regular soft or hard boiled eggs..
    Make the sauce ..Mix soy sauce, water, and rice syrup or honey. Stir in garlic, green onions, chilies, and sesame seeds.
    Carefully peel the eggs and place them in an airtight container. Pour the marinade over the eggs, cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours—overnight is best… Slice and serve over warm rice or ramin noodles…with a drizzle of marinade and a touch of sesame oil. enjoy…A poor mans paradise..ok that’s an Asian pickled egg

  11. I will be the first to admit that I did not follow Kirk. He had some things to say., some that needed to be said, some interesting., some just shock-jock comments.., but a lot of people did listen. Millions.

    I got into an argument yesterday with A.I. regarding the possible blow-back and repercussions from his killing. The damn thing kept trying to reference JFK.., and Martin Luther., even slipped in Malcolm X. .., and I kept bitch-slapping it, as this is not the same society., nor culture as the sixties. We are a very different nation now., as compared to then., and trying to make a comparison to the national reaction to the killing of Bobby Kennedy is a total waste of computer power. [ IMO ]
    It simply would not make that leap forward as to the possibilities of a nation wide retribution., a wave of radical political attacks. It would not even consider it.
    – So., I am going to have to go about my query with a different approach – different phraseology., even though I did change my initial question a couple of times, trying to get the damn thing back on track.         it is a fictional book written by a Christian Author. It remains one of the best books i have ever read.

        it goes into great description about how Evil Entities call them demons or whatever feed off our fears and discouragement like we are all on big loosh farm. they feed off us emotionally. fear supercharges them.

        fits nicely with what Loraine and Ed Warren said, They use lesser spririts as slaves to mask their presence to instill fear responces which they feed on to become stronger.

      i took 7 journals i had written front to back over the years and them 200 year old key cards out to the fire pit.

      the journals are all stuff that came to me in meditation. lots of stuff i never have mentioned on here or anywhere. private revelations about everything under the sun. everything revealed to me about the future of humanity and my own personal thoughts about everything. i laid them all out there in the fire pit. then built a house of cards out of those 200 year old tarot cards on top of them. those 200 year old key player cards.

      i said. DUDE please accept my burnt offering. it was hard to let go of all that i had written in the last 5 years in those jourals. however as King David said, “I will not sacrifice to THE LORD something that cost me nothing.

      then lit the whole thing ablaze. i sat and watched it all burn to ash and soot.

      while it burned i saw a piece of paper fly up with flames on it that read, “and so it came to pass”.

      the only things that survived the fire was The Lovers Card and a little tab from something that reads ” the urban flower company” i have no idea where that came from. it jumped out of the flame and landed next to my shoe. too hot for the urban flower company.

      the entire house of cards burned to nothing but ash and dust. key cards, key players, key arcana that have stood the test of time, all burned to ash and dust. except one. The Lovers.

      i put both the lovers card and the Urban Flower Company tab in my pocket and now im going to mow the lawn.

      time for something new,

          i was talking with a very old lady on thursday night i have known for many many years. i have a whole crew of old ladies who pray every day for me. lol. im sure my life is as more so a result of their prayers than it is of my own efforts.

          She told me her grandmother Eleanor planted a king apple tree when her grandmother was a little girl, long before she ever born. She lives in the same house her grandmother grew up in. She said that tree had a bumper crop of apples so much so it fell over a month ago. she said the branches were bent to the ground it had so many apples on it.

          a lone sapling had survived that grew out of the ground about 20 feet away.

          they trimmed and tried to save the tree and stand it back up but it was dead from the weight of the fruit on it. so they chopped it up and removed it because it was blocking the driveway. they gave away crates and crates of fruite to everyone they knew and all the nighbors were canning the apples and making apple pies. It had so many apples on it they took boxes upon boxes of apples down to the food bank to give away. so many apples.

          there was a big hole where the tree once stood.

          On thursday morning she woke up late. sad about the tree had died. With a heavy heart she looked out her front window at where that great tree once stood. and saw her own grand daughter age 11 go out dig up that sapling, wrapped its roots in burlap and planted it in the spot her grand mother of the same name planted that tree years upon years before she was born. she said she stood in the living room with tears streaming down her face and said Thank You God.

          Her son put a little sign out there next to the sapling her grand daughter planted that read,

          ” this is where Elenors apple tree once stood that fed many generations and this is where my daughter Elenor planted her tree that will feed many more.”

          she said it was just a hand written sign but we are planning on putting a nice wood burned sign out there.

          i told her, please let me know when you get that up, i want to come out to your place and take a picture of that sign and tree. she said you are welcome to come over any time.

  20. No one here has even one clue about what goes on in the world beyond. There are ‘phones’ everywhere but most seem absorbed in bollywood or sports. No evidence of concern about much of anything except growing or getting food. Shoes? Some make concession to cheap rubber slippers. Most are fully grounded, especially considering there is little pavement or concrete. Food grows literally everywhere.
    I’m happy my children live in places far from cities, on their islands in relative isolation. The prayers of the day begin with an ask to protect the innocent from the turmoil.
    The task today is to rebuild the sheet travelers with upgraded lashings and geometry. We want the next thousands of miles to be repair free. We met a wonderful young couple headed home to Tasmania who saved for the dream, went to Greece and got a great 1975 vintage cruiser, and spent the last two years making their way home. Now they imagine renewing an old house on good land, gardens, two kids, and then another boat to get Out Here again. We have a next ‘destination in mind’ but when being at sea that can change depending on how every moment feels. Weather, wind direction, sea condition, even global or local politics (revolutions are probably not that friendly). To me, this moment to moment freedom and sometimes necessity of choice are what keeps the pistons and gears turning. Weakness has no place.
