Oh-oh. Another one of those controversial topics just waltzed into the inbox, so before going any further I need to say:
WARNING: LOOKING AT THE SUN DIRECTLY MAY CAUSE INJURY TO THE EYES OR BLINDNESS.
Why the warning? Well, with a subject line line “Jaw-dropping info that I stumped upon, matches almost what you been report for a while…” who can resist reading on?
Hello George:
I been following your material for years, i recently stumbled on to a book and purchased it, by Whitley Strieber called THE KEY, A True Encounter at his site..www.unknowncountry.com. It has been sitting around the house for a couple of months until this weekend when i finally finished reading other material about sungazing and the light body, i have become very spiritual since my daughters passing from Bone Cancer at the young age of twenty five, may of 2012, so needless to say i have been reading everything i have been guided towards to heighten my Sixth sense to try and stay in contact with my daughters presence when she should happen to come around. I was startled after getting into the conversation that Whitley had with what seems like the Angel Micheal about how Heaven’s use of Astrology to track mans progress since their is no time in Heaven, and that a important age or event happens every 2 Thousand years in which the Holocaust was ours, since the Holocaust reduced the intelligence of the human species by killing too many of its most intellectually competent members. It is why we are still using jets seventy five years after their invention. The understanding of gravity is denied us because of the absence of the child of a murdered Jewish couple. This child would have unlocked the secret of gravity. But he was not born. Because his parents went, the whole species must stay. What is happening is consequence, not punishment. Then it goes into saying we need to evolve from a elemental being into a light being to find heaven within us, that a climate change is coming which started in the year 2000 and will take twenty years before it puts us into a Ice age which will kill off most or reduce populations almost to nothing due to crop failures, that we have to be careful when we start building intelligent robots to help us out of this situation we find ourselves in because if robots evolve which they will we could be in trouble since we are stuck here..The Book is amazing, i have not finished it yet but you need to read this and put this out there..this is just a small tidbit of this story, sounds and feels like the real thing, certainly answers many questions..
Thanks Richard
Most intriguing, is it not? But before we continue:
WARNING: LOOKING AT THE SUN DIRECTLY MAY CAUSE INJURY TO THE EYES OR BLINDNESS.
It didn’t take me very long to figure out that somewhere back in ancient history, when I was a kid, both me and the neighbor-kid I grew up with, had spent some time looking at the sun.
Like all kids, we didn’t know what we were doing, of course. But other than cataracts being removed from both eyes, implants being put in, and color loss in the green range, I have to say my eyes are OK. And, I can’t blame the antics as a kid, either. The cataracts were either from messing about with lasers as a kid (building early holograms was magical) or it was due to my allergies, which are non-trivial.
So what’s the low-down on it?
History: One could speculate that sun-gazing has been around almost forever. Go back to Egyptian mythology and look at the “sun” focus. And what about that carpenter wandering around the desert for 40 days while fasting? Any chance he might have done some sun-gazing around dawn or sunset? You can sense there may be something to it.
Science: This is all related to an emergent area of science called biophotonics. From Wikipedia on this one:
The term biophotonics denotes a combination of biology and photonics, with photonics being the science and technology of generation, manipulation, and detection of photons, quantum units of light. Photonics is related to electronics and photons.Photons play a central role in information technologies such as fiber optics the way electrons do in electronics.
Biophotonics can also be described as the “development and application of optical techniques, particularly imaging, to the study of biological molecules, cells and tissue”. One of the main benefits of using optical techniques which make up biophotonics is that they preserve the integrity of the biological cells being examined.[1]
Biophotonics has therefore become the established general term for all techniques that deal with the interaction between biological items and photons. This refers to emission, detection, absorption, reflection, modification, and creation of radiation from biomolecular, cells, tissues, organisms and biomaterials. Areas of application are life science, medicine, agriculture, and environmental science. Similar to the differentiation between “electric” and “electronics” a difference can be made between applications, which use light mainly to transfer energy via light (like Therapy or surgery) and applications which excite matter via light and transfer information back to the operator (like diagnostics). In most cases the term biophotonics is only referred to the second case.
If you’re talking about sources of light, wouldn’t the sun have been the original source? And would one of the purposes of all those pyramids be to get the priest class of ancient civilizations up to higher altitudes where they would be first to sun-gaze the arriving rays?
Danger: Check out this part from Wikipedia, however.
Sungazing is a practice that includes gazing at the Sun for nourishment or as a spiritual practice. Looking into the Sun is dangerous, and can cause solar retinopathy and lead to permanent eye damage or blindness.[1][2] There is no scientific evidence that sungazing provides health benefits.
Having done all the warnings I can possibly think of, a little research on the ‘net will yield rules of sungazing, like this document over here. Still, let me say this one more time:
WARNING: LOOKING AT THE SUN DIRECTLY MAY CAUSE INJURY TO THE EYES OR BLINDNESS.
I’ll send a note up to Dr. Rob, one of the leading eye dudes around and maybe he’d be kind enough to share some thoughts on how all this sungazing stuff ties in to the biophotonics work that he and colleagues are doing.
But in the meantime, next time you look at that big yellowy thing in the sky, as yourself “Was there a little more to the ‘I am the Light’ phrase that might first meets the eye?”
UFOs: Hanging Around England?
When reports of a UFO near-miss with a “rugby football” shaped UFO begin showing up in respectable media, like the UK Telegraph, we tend to notice.
Especially when it comes around the same time as the Gloucester Citizen was out with a report spanning some number of years during which aliens had been reported to police emergency call centers.
If you’re really into UFOlogy, you might remember that there was a sighting reported December 19th here about a UFO over the UK Barnoldswick district.
Not like England is alone: There was video in December from Germany which purports to be of an alien stepping out for a walkabout of his/hers/its craft over here.
But for me, the funniest part of it all is that while watching the YouTube video, up pops an ad at the bottom of the video for what? “Train to be an Aircraft Mechanic…” Right, then…..
But seriously: Take a listen to the sound the [purported] UFO makes starting at about the 0:58 marker. For a hoax, it’s either really good OR it’s not a hoax and the rumors about a rotating mercury propulsion system might really tie-in to sounds heard… juss sayin….
Feeding Your Car
A number of readers have asked about what’s coming down the road on so-called E-85 gasolines that include up to 15% ethanol.
Turns out, the Triple A said they were pleased to see that EPA had backed off unrealistic levels but they also made this point:
“The vast majority of cars on the roads today are not designed to run on gasoline containing more than 10 percent ethanol. While ethanol has the potential to support the economy and reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, it is irresponsible to mandate more ethanol than cars can safely use.”
And, one reader noted “Major car mfg say you will void your warranty if you use it. “ But we haven’t read all the warranties out there, but seems like something to look into..
Another One Bites the Dust
This morning I am mourning the loss of yet another dear old friend: Another keyboard has been worn down to its last frazzle. So rather than await the failure which will inevitably follow, although perhaps not for another umpteen years, I am relegating this one to the trash and a fresh victim is being unwrapped this morning to take up where serial number 0103602615146 left off.
As you can see, like the one before it, this one has a noticeable indentation on the right side of the spacebar. That’s from my right thumb beating it senseless at all hours of the day and night.
A number of readers have wondered if I use DragonSpeaking to dictate my columns. Their question arising because sometimes I will use peace instead of piece, or their instead of there in a sentence. But I’m afraid, that’s just a follow-on effect from insufficient blood levels of caffeine, as much as anything.
Still, one of these mornings I promise to try out “Speaking” my column. So if one of these morning’s you wake up and find UrbanSurvival is leaning more toward a NY Times crossword than usual, that could be the reason.
In the meanwhile, this old keyboard and I have been through numerous crises and now comes a newcomer.
All of which is shared with a purpose (although I thought about sharing a porpoise, also): In the next few days, I may be ever so slightly “off” in my typictions of events as my fingers beat what passes for literary sanity into an new, not-yet-repentant, new keyboard.
Earthquake Week?
A couple of reasons to be looking toward mid week for an earthquake of some magnitude this week:
An M4.1 flare occurred near NOAA AR 11944 on January 4 with peak time at 19:46 UT. The most recent coronagraphic data from SOHO-LASCO/C2 and STEREO B/COR2 show that this flare was accompanied by a CME. Due to the location of the source region, this CME might reach Earth. Further analysis will be carried out once more data are available.
And this morning the leftovers from a CME last week are showing up:
Currently the proton flux is strongly rising for > 10 MeV, > 50 MeV and > 100 MeV protons.
The event threshold of 10 pfu will be reached within the next few minutes.
The source for this proton event is still unclear.
So if the ground starts moving, I assume you’re mentally set/prepped for it?
Well, so rolls another Monday. Only two weeks till another holiday: Martin Luther King Day is on the 20th. However, while it’s one of the 10 federal holidays this year, for working stiffs like us, the more common holiday count is 6-7 here lately…
Come on back tomorrow and write when you break even…
