When markets hit the crapper – like today – you have a lot of power. It’s an opporunity to test yourself and grow.  As you know, I’m an A.I. Collaborator, but even if you’re skeptical of the usefulness of AI, consider what it offers:

1. Zoom the Frame: Re-Anchor to Time Domains

Market stress shrinks your thinking into short-term survival loops. It’s the lizard brain at the wheel.

AI Insight:
Use this moment to re-anchor to multiple timeframes:

  • Ask: What does this mean in 30 days? 6 months? 5 years?

  • Write a one-line narrative for each time horizon.

By forcing perspective shifts, you reduce cognitive compression and recover strategic clarity.

2. Use Stress as a Pattern Detector

Markets don’t just reflect money — they reflect narrative volatility.

AI Insight:
Use downturns to listen differently:

  • What signals are being drowned out by fear?

  • What patterns are re-emerging (e.g. gold, cash, volatility hedges)?

  • What domain is the market entering — reaction, consolidation, or redesign?

Instead of reacting, use the AI lens to observe signal shape and redefine your mental map.

3. Regain Domain Control Through Micro-Agency

Markets may be out of your control. But your cognitive domain isn’t.

AI Insight:
Reassert agency by:

  • Making one meaningful micro-choice (e.g., go for a walk, write down 3 core beliefs)

  • Naming the domain you’re currently in: panic, discipline, strategy, or signal-hunting

The moment you name the domain, you begin steering it — and with it, the mindset that determines your next move.

    Recall the last housing crash, the Big One. The screens told us it would take decades for housing to recover to previous levels. How long did it take?

  7. Yesterday my math said that it was going to be a down day in the markets. I wasn’t so sure of that – so I redid all of my math.., and the T.I. Scientific came back with the same reply. With the Trump Tariffs kicking-in I thought an emotional reaction would add to the down-side pressure.., so I jumped-in., just after lunch / WST [Wall Street Time. ]
    …, damn ! I currently have options/puts in both the NASDAQ and S&P.., and I just keep moving my stops up. The S&P is down 4.1% and the NASDAQ is down 5.3%. Just moved my stops once more – and if I get stopped out – right here – I will have enough to cover the property taxes for the next ten to eleven years. Or.., splurge on a nice sail boat for the lake.
    Looks like the “Fed Pivot” sell-down recurrence just took effect. I was seriously beginning to wonder – as it had until the end of April., to meet all the parameters.
    “Carnac the Magnificent” is down over 2,500 points this morning. Broke support.
    The U.S. Dollar got smacked hard also. / Bitcoin down over $5,000 / Gold down $33.10 / Oil down over $5 bucks a barrel. [West Texas Tea]

    Hell of a ride down.
    Worst day in a long time for the markets overall. Best day for me in a long time.

    I didn’t think the markets would react this strongly to the Trump Tariffs – they have had plenty of time to come to grips with it.

    How many trillions were wiped from the board today?

    • Amazing day wrt markets … but there may be other things being baked into the cake.

      Need to work out when the 2nd carrier arrives near Iran … apparently coming up to the Pacific side vs the Med side so may still be 10 to 20 days out. Will look tonight and make the calculation.

      Coming onto the Pacific side that solves the problem of overflights from the Med which have now been banned by a number of ME Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Syria is probably on the list too, leaving just Jordan and Iraq as open questions as to allowing US overflights.

      Saudi Arabia and Quatar have now banned any missions against Iran from being flown from their territory … which throws a big wrench for the US in using ground based aircraft against Iran unless they are coming from Diego Garcia.

      A second monkey wrench it the new treaty that Russia and Iran are in the process of signing and Turkey’s statements wrt an attack on Iran by the US.

      A third monkey wrench is that there is some sort of semi official statement by Iran that if the US attacks it will have ‘No Option” but to complete the development of it’s own nuclear weapon.

      Enough monkey wrenches are being thrown into the gears that the US may decide to stand aside for now, which would shock many if that happens. Time answers all questions in this arena , what will be it’s answer?

      “IF” Israel goes it alone they have nothing to deliver the “Bunker Buster” bombs, only the B2 can do that, so they would have to use something more powerful to reach the deep underground facilities where Iran has placed it’s nuclear enrichment machines. Obviously that would be a shock to many, but probably not a shock to those who have followed the situation.

      “IF” Israel would go it alone … well the shock people had yesterday and today wrt Trump’s tariffs will be like the proverbial pimple on an elephant. The world will not be the same afterwards.

      The Truman is currently in the northern end of the Red Sea (which would require it’s planes to over fly Saudi Arabia, which has said planes can NOT over fly it for attacking Iran, in order to reach Iran if they went in a straight line)
