Checks, Balances, and a Relief Rally. Swell: Now What?

What would a visiting alien civilization make of Wall Street’s election relief rally?

That’s the question behind this week’s 43-page Peoplenomics ChartPack, The Orbital Outlook. We climb aboard a latter-day USS Enterprise, put the scanners on high, and examine Earth’s financial markets without the usual political baggage. From orbit, the election may have changed who’s running Congress, but it hasn’t eliminated debt, repaired credit conditions, ended wars, or made the enormous AI investment boom automatically profitable. The distinction? Markets can rally on relief, but lasting prosperity requires performance.

Our technical work explores whether the market is completing a first wave down and preparing for a second-wave rebound—or merely setting up investors for another unpleasant surprise. We examine the Dow, S&P 500, and NASDAQ through our proprietary Magic Ovals and State-Variance Extremes, then compare current market behavior with the 1929 experience. The particularly interesting question is whether a strong rebound around major moving averages could be mistaken for the beginning of another bull market. History suggests caution, not certainty.

The ChartPack then moves through our U.S. and Global Aggregate Indexes, trend-crossing studies, and NASDAQ coherence work to separate short-term excitement from longer-term market structure. The practical conclusion is simple: until the technical evidence improves, sitting on our hands may be smarter than chasing a politically inspired rally. It’s a little science fiction, a lot of original chart work, and 43 pages of trying to keep our investment decisions grounded in something more reliable than television commentary. From orbit, the view is clearer—and considerably less partisan.

  1. George:

Current fractal model: From the 30 Mar 2026 low and the 29 July 2026 low, the SPX completed a final lower high on 21 October 2026 in a maximum x/2.5x/2.5x fractal growth fashion: 25/60/60 days and 10-11/26/26 days, respectively. From that terminal 21 Oct lower high(all time high 6 Oct) a 3/6/7-8 day :: y/2y/2-2.5y crash decay fractal is predicted with an initial crash nadir on 9-10 Nov. Gold and Bitcoin will also reach interim crash nadirs on that date.

  2. (“Democrats will call it a rejection of Trump. Republicans will call it an off-year protest vote. Independents may simply be tired of everyone rearranging the deck chairs while the economic ship takes on debt.
All three interpretations have something going for them..
The important point is that neither party now has a clear path to imposing its entire wish list on the other half of the country.”)

From my perspective, it doesn’t really matter which political party claims victory or how they interpret the results.

What concerns me is something much deeper that we all see, hear about, or simply avoid…

For decades, the burdens of political and economic decisions have increasingly been transferred onto ordinary citizens, while the essential needs of those same citizens have received insufficient attention….Reagan’s deregulation as a starting point…Obama’s failed healthcare bill that did some good but… left price gouging and open discrimination .. the business model..

Outsourcing vital industries and manufacturing capabilities may have provided short-term economic advantages, higher profits, but it also created long-term dependencies and weakened domestic production capacity… by outsourcing basically took the vital resources that local communities depended on for survival..one look at any industrial city that was gutted for profits of A few..

Eventually, those accumulated consequences will reach a tipping point….Thats where I think we are at now..opening the borders just put the icing on the situation..

After visiting a neighborhood where issues are simply myths gives me one reason I believe the problems have gone unrecognized for so long….it simply is that the people making and evaluating all of these decisions live in economic neighborhoods where the consequences aren’t immediately visible…the DC bubble…

It’s difficult to recognize the severity of a problem when it doesn’t exist in your own neighborhood or at your level of the economic pyramid….None of the reality of my level was seen there and really if someone had told me it was like that..I would have thought they were FOS..it can’t be like that..

The issues that the people living on the lower levels have been experiencing those consequences all along….aren’t there..it can’t be true..I believe the concept in political science is called elite insulation…..Where articles describes circumstances in which the decision-makers become separated from the experiences and concerns of the wider population…occurredmber historical instances where this occurred…The French monarchy and the Romanovs for instance didn’t collapse simply because the people were poor… The Financial pressures interacted with political exclusion of those in power, institutional weaknesses, military failures and other historical circumstances…
if Mari would have carried a bucket of soup..her fate could have been quite different…

The issue isn’t simply which party gets to rearrange the political furniture.

It’s whether anyone is willing to address the structural problems that have been accumulating beneath it.

Because changing who holds the steering wheel doesn’t accomplish much if nobody acknowledges the condition of the road…..

  3. Sadly, I believe that any meaningful change requires more than changing the people occupying political offices they hold…. It requires changing the whole business model and the incentives that have shaped our economic and political systems for decades….

in that perspective lies the problem we all face… Mankind generally resists change, particularly when the existing arrangement continues to produce substantial profits for those benefiting from it… an experiment to try..as you are sitting across the table..simply and slowly readjust the positions of the cup plate the salt and pepper shaker..pretty soon the person across will seem adjetated… they cannot accept the change in their personal space..its human nature..

From their neighborhood in the bubble, and on their level of the economic pyramid, the problems facing other sections of the population simply does not appear to be a present reality … they don’t experience any of it..so it truly can’t be… The profits are high, the business model is working, and the consequences being experienced elsewhere remain distant from their everyday lives.

Unfortunately I believe, by the time those consequences become impossible to ignore in their own neighborhood, the damage is beyond repair..

We all see new candidates entering politics promising to be the change people are looking for… The dead horse issues if the campaign platform..remember the abortion issue…. But I wonder how many if these new political candidates understand the environment they’re entering. Even those who begin with sincere intentions can find themselves caught in a political and economic quagmire of lobbying interests, financial influence, institutional resistance and decades of established practices.

It’s difficult to represent the interests of the population when the loudest and most persistent voices surrounding you are often those protecting their own interests.

It reminds me of the movie The Distinguished Gentleman. Beneath the comedy was a rather uncomfortable observation about how political influence operates and how easily the original purpose of public service can become overshadowed by the interests surrounding it.

Perhaps we keep focusing too much on who gets elected and not enough on the structure they’re being elected into.

Changing the driver accomplishes very little if the vehicle is designed to keep traveling in the same direction.

And meanwhile, the people at the bottom of the economic pyramid continue carrying the accumulated burdens of decisions made in neighborhoods far removed from their own.

At some point historically as conditions became unchecked and out of balance where their economic and political systems that were structured to serve the needs of the population, had morphed to a point where the population needs had increasingly become items that they felt were unnecessary and they reject serving the needs of those systems for potential profits or gifts..jobs..education..or personal services..I was told once..that a good lobbyist was that he has the ability to determine if they need to wine dine or getting them laid or just look it in front of them in sixty seconds to get results was what made a good lobbyist….
