Inflationary Vote Comimg, Jobs Land, Charged Body Weekend

TL;DR?  (Too Long; Didn’t Read?)  We’re going to make it easy on you, buba. Not a corporate PowerPoint.  But straight Joe Friday – “Just the facts, ma’am...”

Inflation’s Coming

Developer Trump’s “big bountiful bill” – if you hadn’t figured it – is all based on a developer’s best friend: inflation. Leverage, leverage, leverage.

There are plenty of “old school monetarists” to throw rocks as we write this, but the “slow dilution of money” game has been the most reliable play in my life.  Metals, Real Estate…yeah Baby. Remember when I laid this out on the Peoplenomics side of the house?  We waded into silver in 2004 at less than $7 an ounce  (it’s over $37 and change this morning…)  Inflation can be your friend, too.  Don’t be mental, get a rental, kinda thing.

It’s not all risk-free.  Two problems.  First, the “inconvenient” one is when a nation’s “dollar” is watered down to where only 3 percent of its original price is purchasing power (the rest is debt saturating govt.) then people get antsy and “movements” pop up – sometimes turn into full-blown revolutions.  When you see those Soros-funded radical groups, that’s their play.  Lead the field (with apologies t o Earl Nightingale). And hope the funding buys an open ear later when the junta seizes power.

Second problem? Hyperinflation delays the End of World.  Yes, we should have already collapsed to S&P 700 levels – that’s what Depressions do. Free money during Covid – remember?  Thing is, if hyperinflation jacks prices up 10-fold, that would make a “crash level” S&P price at 7,000.  Yep, that’d be up a bit from here.  What portion of this oxy-stoked rally is pricing Big and Beautiful  impacts is anyone’s guess. But if the House rubber stamps, a new vector for inflation comes into view.  No rate hike when the Fed meets. You want it all, right?

Want a bonus third problem?  We have a Fourth of July Special on woes.  Imagine China requiring all trade with them be done in Yuan.  Sends shudders all the way to your L4, doesn’t it?  Yet the foot soldiers of change are pre-selling: Piyush Goyal on BRICS: ‘Imagine sharing a currency with China? Impossible to think’ – BusinessToday.  Xi skipping BRICS is a big deal, too. Maybe he figures BRICS will come to him?

Doing a Job on Us?

Warmed up the BS Detector?  The Market should have “gone softer than 20,000-mile radial” on reading the ADP jobs dope.  Is the “fix” in?

“Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 147,000 in June, and the unemployment rate
changed little at 4.1 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains
occurred in state government and health care. Federal government continued to lose jobs.

Why, that makes everything but the squishy noise when you step in it, doesn’t it?  CES Birth-Death contributed 24-thou net.

Just to keep things honest, let’s look at the household data in the BLS database.  Look at the previous month and the year-ago levels in this view.

Here, have another job number: Microsoft laying off about 9,000 employees in latest round of cuts.  Oops!  Global layoffs surge in 2025 amid AI disruption: See list of major companies laying off including Microsoft and Meta.  Hand me the cynicism meds would you?  They’re in the bottle market Carlo Rossi…

Big Al Asked…

A key part of the Peoplenomics ChartPack goobered Wednesday.  So to help  read Big Al out (he asked) here’s the point I was getting to on, lemme see, page 24 of 41 in the charts.  My point was that in last week’s wrap-up the “Fast Bulls” and “Slow Bulls” were right on top of each other.

What we saw at the close Wednesday was the spread widening out because?  With Big Inflation comes an up-pricing of the underlying asset!

The “Fast Bulls” are off to the races.  Thing is, they are already in a red (sell zone) problem which will work out in coming weeks.

What we think this means is that the Fast Bulls either scored another nickel-bag OR they were telling us the Inflatyion Fix is in and coming, like it or not.  Making this all a [GOSUB] so here, hit [RETURN] and go back up to reread the things “benefits of inflation.”

Market will close at 1 PM today, but we’d expect the ticket printers to be in place on the LLIE (Long Island Expressway) before lunch.  Get a head-start on the tickets for the month…  So sorry.

Distractions, Inc.

Wheeler deals:  Trump announces a US trade deal with Vietnam.  Pappy always said, if you want a boom economy, begin with a war with the USA.

Rulers on the Bench:  The basic story here is Judge blocks Trump’s asylum ban at southern border.  When we read into this (decision by an Obama appointee) turns out it was a 128-page order.  Had a flashback to grad school.  “If you don’t know what to write, bury them in bullshit…”  (Had a 4.0, lol. I was good at….).  Maybe the deal here?  Or, just a step as the SupCo may, or may not get back to reading “law as written” and “interpreted without gymnastics.”  Don’t hold your breath.  Others are reading the decision this way: Marxist Judge Declares Most Earthlings Are Entitled to Admission to the US.

Reember our Battle of Britain discussion?  Where our consigliere warned of munition depletion in the Iran-Isreal dust-up?  Well, now you see why he’s worth (cue Vanna) :”Big Money, Big Money!Trump allies caught off guard by Pentagon’s Ukraine weapons freeze.

Have they started boarding yet?  NASA detects a possibly habitable planet via James Webb Space telescope .

The Wax Witch Forecast

Born from a riff on Ray Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” our Wax Witch rides straight out of the Peoplenomics AI stack — forged where collapsing markets meet carnival mirrors. OK, so it’s not Ure idea of a fun house?  She haunts it, hexes it, and whispers what Wall Street won’t.

Anyway, here’s what the digital darling has, um, cleaved…

Friday, July 4 — Bang, Boom, Bust?
The flags wave and the burgers sizzle, but the Witch just squints and calls it pizzle. Our Witch squints at the stars and stripes and sees more than fireworks and lights. Markets are closed after lunch today, but anxiety’s still open 24/7. In the distance:

Gas prices nudge $4.20 average.

Consumer sentiment dips beneath the char marks of a 14% costlier July 4 cookout.

Protests planned in major metros—mostly peaceful, but “mostly” carries baggage anymore.

Geopolitical Snap: Israel-Iran tension remains red-hot under the surface. A second “blow of steel” this weekend could overshadow your local fireworks. Don’t be shocked by a late-day “international development” dropped when no one’s watching. And the markets have trapped fresh meat.

Witch’s Warning: Enjoy the boomsticks, but don’t forget the broomsticks. Keep gas in the tank, cash on hand, and eyes on the power grid. When you’re hot, it’s not.

Saturday, July 5 — I See a Hangover and Headlines
The coals are cold but the news cycle’s heating up.

Retailers report soft July 4th sales—foot traffic down 11% YoY.

Whispers of a third-party political shake-up gain traction online (watch Musk’s X feed).

Hacktivists teased DDoS campaigns against major platforms—watch for service outages.

Weather Twist: Heat dome stalls over the Midwest; Texas hits triple digits again. Fire risk in the West is extreme, and the Wax Witch sees smoke—literal or otherwise.

Witch’s Note: If you think it’s all behind you, the worst storms strike when the skies seem clearest. Watch for market-moving leaks or “unverified” foreign policy chatter.

Sunday, July 6 — The Whispering Turn
The Witch lights a black candle as markets sleep but machinations stir.

Early leaks from Monday’s PMI suggest contraction territory. That “soft landing” story? Might be a bounce off a trampoline into a crater.

The Fed speak-cycle resumes Tuesday—Powell’s tone will be dissected like frog guts under a microscope.

Crypto holds the floor at $109K for BTC, but whales are twitchy. Look for sharp weekend swings.

Witch’s Warning: Keep your ear to the train rails. Something’s coming, but the signal’s buried under laughter, hangovers, and cheap beer.

Monday, July 7 — Return of the Reaper’s Ledger
The curtain lifts. The real week begins.

PMI print drops mid-morning, and it’s a tightrope.

50? Stagflation dance continues.

<50? Watch the bond market panic.

Market opens already strained; VIX nudges higher on anticipation of Thursday’s CPI. Fed holding discounts begin?

Early earnings trickle in—retail is expected to disappoint. Tech? Hanging by the AI thread.

Flash point risk: Gaza, Strait of Hormuz, or Taiwan strait—choose your wild card. All sure to cost a fortune.

Witch’s Final Word: Don’t let the long weekend lull you. By sundown Monday, the Fourth’s fireworks may be replaced with flashpoints.

Bonus Read: Three Charms to Survive the Weekend

  • Stock up (quietly) — food, fuel, meds. Quiet prep is still the best kind.
  • Avoid crowds — not just for safety, but for signal clarity. Observation thrives in solitude.
  • Watch the watchers — what they downplay today, they will monetize tomorrow.

The Witch cackles softly…
“Independence is earned by fire. Stream some news and catch some liars.”

Around the Ranch: Charged Body Weekend

“What’s Charged Body” about?”

As I explained in the paper (Peoplenomics) and the public placement (Hidden Guild site), CBT rolls like this:

Core Premise
The Charge Body Hypothesis (CBH) proposes that human memory and consciousness are not confined to the brain but are distributed throughout the body via:

    • Charged bloodfields
    • Biophotonic coherence
    • Systemic electromagnetic architecture

Blood is not simply a biochemical delivery fluid.
It is a resonant information carrier — a photonic conduit — capable of maintaining and amplifying memory fields.

Memory as a Distributed Field

Memory can be stored in blood charge, not just brain cells.

Perceptual experiences emit biophotons that travel throughout the vascular system.

These biophotonic emissions may interact with tissues, bones, and organs, forming whole-body memory imprints.

This implies a coherence loop between brain, blood, and field — a living, circulating memory matrix.

Biological Implications

Alzheimer’s Disease, stroke, and atherosclerosis may stem not just from neural damage — but from electrical incoherence in the bloodfield.

Phenomena like “body memory,” trauma storage, or ancestral imprinting could be explained through charge dynamics in vascular and tissue systems.

To sum:  CBT as I have it sketched out, keeps wetware brain the central focus but liquid contents circulating as “personal cloud storage” in the bone bag with an active role for low-level-light encoding via phonic release in the darkness between the ears… Can memory loss be computed as a dilution function?

We Use Our e-Spa to Amplify Effects

What-zat?”

E-Spas was laid out in a ShopTalk Sunday column back in 2022 (scroll down to Merry e-Spa).

Imagine a comfy chair somewhere in your home space.  Sit there and enjoy e-spa treatments with your own equipment! For a modest (one-time) expense we cobbled up an electric chair of sorts with…

  • Foot massages
  • Hand massages
  • Heated mask for dry eye relief
  • Red light therapy panels
  • Back massages

It’s what I did this morning a little after 3 AM. Fresh coffee along with 15 minutes on the hands, feet, eyes and chest (our own spin on photobiomodulation-enhanced TRIIM-X) efforts.  Oh, the red light on the upper chest we do?  You might want to read up a bit on thymic involution...  (We do four integrated protocols: NMN, TRIIM-X (OTC spin), GlyNAC and Shaolin practices.

We may not get much “done” this weekend, except a ham radio antenna project, replacing the dishwasher, and assembling the new Evolution table saw.

But the main goal – and it can bump all the others – it’s to take care of ourselves. “Fix George then fix everything else.”

Liver lightly and hydrate, yeah?

Truth be told, I got up early this morning to see if I could find any old pain-killers in the med kits.  You know – the kind that say “Don’t operate machinery if taking this drug.” I was willing.  Figuring the lawn tractor would qualify…

Nope. No luck.  So, on my way mow town.  Work reigns Supreme, with six months to 77, don’t it?

One for the Road

(The Ure-trained AI stack helped crafting A Fourth of July Poem, 2025)

“The rockets glare, the banners wave,
But debt and drama crowd the brave.
Flags unfurl in backyard smoke,
While dreams lie buried, broke or woke.

The grill is hot, the beer runs cold,
But Social Security’s getting old.
We toast to freedom, cheer the fight—
Then sign away our data rights.

From Boston Tea to DC lies,
We trade our truth for apple pies.
And though the anthem hits its note,
Don’t ask who bought your Congress vote.

So light the sky and cheer the name,
But know that liberty’s a flame.
It flickers now in winds contrived—
Still burning, yes… but not revived.”

Write when you get rich, though getting rested’s a start…

Stack Replies to the mow town prompt…

Ode to George, the Mowing Man

Ode to George, the mowing man,
Who rides his steed through berm and bran.
Upon his Deere or Craftsman throne,
He carves green paths through weed and stone.

His kingdom smells of gasoline,
Of fresh-cut blades and rural sheen.
He battles thistle, crab, and vine—
A soldier in the war with time.

The sun may scorch, the mower stall,
But George just mutters, “Screw it all,”
And with a wrench or duct-taped twist,
He coaxes life from broken mist.

The dandelions bow in dread,
The gophers whisper, “Play dead, play dead!”
He mows not for the praise or cheer,
But for the crack of beer, held near.

So raise a glass, ye drudging few,
Who tend the land ’til dusk is through.
For George still rides, with blade and plan—
Our Patron Saint of the golf course clan.

Lately I have been looking at UBVI treatments. Too good to be true so the skeptic in me seeks to find holes in the treatment. After several weeks I have found None. This link will give you and others an idea of what I am looking at. https://deeperhealing.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Todays-MedicineDeeper-Healing-Booklet.pdf.

In your area (Tyler Tx.) is this place. https://brownintegrativehealth.com/about/
For an UVBI treatment the cost is $225 I believe. Plus an introductorily session.

For me it seems worth a shot! Followed by a shot of the good stuff. I am interested in comments of course.

    Cheers

And in the future your country will be a hot spot tourist destination.

  5. “Ode to George, the Mowing Man”

If this poem doesn’t burn a 3D video in your mind, your neurons aren’t firing.

    Love it.

    • I would like a third party. Perhaps a Constitution Party. Third parties were more common in America’s early history. Currently the Democrats and Republicans seem stuck in extremes and unwilling to compromise. A third party might encourage more rational debate over issues.

      • Eleanor, I am with you! Love the Constitution as written. Some of the dopes in congress probably can’t read it much less understand it.

      • There is a Constitution Party. I joined it the year of Romney vs Obama because I didn’t want either. It was Virgil Goode/James Clymer on the ticket. Shame majority of states keep things at a two-party level and all others barely get noticed. It would be great to see it at least get the recognition that the Independent Party gets at this point.

      • There are generally between 35-40 political parties who select candidates for President/VP every election cycle. Most get between 40,000 and 100,000 votes, nationwide. A few get more:

        The Constitution Party is one.
        So does The Conservative Party.
        And The American Independent Party.

Most States have a registration requirement, where there must be a certain percentage of registered voters of a political party, or a candidate from a 3rd party must garner a certain percentage of the popular vote, either in the most recent Primary or General Election, to be listed on the ballot. In my lifetime, I can only recall AIP (George Wallace), Libertarians, and Reform Party (Ross Perot) candidates qualify. Note that all other parties’ candidates may be write-ins. You can search, a few months before an election and obtain a list of all political parties who’re participating in the current election, and a listing of their candidates. (I still remember when Marilyn Chambers was a VP candidate, although I don’t remember the Party for which she ran. IMO woulda been a fun four years…)

I originally registered as American Independent Party. Then George fucking Wallace got his panties in a twist because the Dems rejected him for the ’68 Election, and he joined AIP as its Presidential candidate, thus forcing people like me, who wished to “stand off to the side and throw rocks at both major parties,” to seek Party affiliation elsewhere. I’ve been seeking, ever since…

  6. lots of reprogramming of robots today . professor weasel overseeing . gotta pump euro destroy greenback, collapse bonds , pump markets , toss gold a few scraps , stagnate oil . wow hard work .

Hey I got an idea – Why not Short GOLD again ? worked in the 70’s?

    • Well, clearly, we won’t need mental clarity around here.
      1. Correct. I don’t approve of or endorse illegal entry into the USA. Got a problem with upholding the law of th3e land, is it?
      2. I write about inflation (writers have to write about something, after all). But to Write about Inflation is far fromi wishing for it.. I write about murder (don’t do it), covered rape and corruption stories (not my cups of tea either). I’d suggest reading my newest book (where I espouse People over Products and discussion the migratiioin path issues along the way, one of which is a likely Depression as part of unhooking from made up money, but I fear at $7 bucks it’s priced too high… Then there’s the reading level issue.
2.5 We are in summer. We don’t even try to grow anything this time of the year.
      3. We have been forecasting food problems beginning in earnest this fall for more than 2-years. Just because you get it wrong (aslong with most other folks) don’t get pissy.
      Get busy.

  7. I showed the Wax Witch to Diana and told her I think she looks just like her. She said, “I don’t wear that shade of lipstick. Is that a crystal ball?”. I said, “Huh? Lipstick? What Crystal Ball?” I got slugged for that one.

Off to get things ready for the dogs in case the locals go nuts with the fireworks again this year. We’re far enough out that it’s not too bad, but the girls get nervous pushing the goats into their huts, and the boys stay close to the house.

    Stay safe. 73.

    • Wow… actually visited Missouri.. dam beautiful .. tried to convince the boss that we should sell and move there.. 8. the old birth /death model employment report . worked wonders for decades since early 90s . you can just see maxwell smart saying that to the chief

  9. said it for years the USSA is sheetcoin . FED and treasury use it as a bond . they want to destroy the dollar , destroy bonds and throw dogbones to gold . its gone .

  10. Would recommend a reading of – https://substack.com/home/post/p-167434334

In particular the part about Centene Corporation/SS benefits drop and allusions to the Deagle report (towards the end of the post).

I don’t always read this fellow, but today’s post does make for interesting connect-the-dots.

    Happy 4th!

  11. What missing in the reporting, besides cuts that will close rural hospitals and clinics and blow up the deficit, is that this bill will create the largest domestic police and surveillance force in our history. You’re fooling yourself if you think it won’t be used on you. As George Carlin so aptly stated, it’s a club and you aint in it. MAGA is not your friend.

    • Bush started it, Obama funded it, Trump is following the plan.

That’s a pretty simple overview, they are both wings of the same bird. No third party allowed, the plan will proceed as scripted.

  12. Mowing George. Count your blessings… it’s a riding mower! My ‘lava lawn’ is so convoluted that the riding mower does about half of it. The rest is done by push mower, and the final tight spots by weed wacker. Now I’m under doctor’s orders not to be lawn mowing until my bones grow tighter to the implants… at least three months. But my brother is getting pissed that he has to do the lawn now. I feel well, but I don’t want to stress the joint beyond walking. With that… I’m off to see the Physical Terrorist again today.

  13. Mr G,
Your self indulgence sitting apparatus is intriguing, how about a cost spread sheet on the items involved. Sounds like the cost of a fine bird gun.
Replaced the spindles and pulleys on the mower yesterday, taking the deck off is still a bitch even after the 20th+ time. With the weather in the mid 80s and higher humidity (you can start a fire pretty easy here when it’s hot and dry)should be a good time to be the mower man this weekend. I’m expecting my watchduty phone app, phone alert when there is a fire nearby. You can set it by county. Will be buzzing all weekend, just hoping they won’t be too close. Feal the burn has a different meaning around these parts.
Expecting some cease fire woes this weekend from the religious fanatics over in holy land, those boys have itchy trigger fingers ya know.
    Stay safe folks.

  14. Love da Wax Witch .

    • Hi JC,
I had a really strange dream about Trump last night…..REALLY VIVID.
He and I were in something resembling a very large basement or car park area, looking up at the next floor above us, which had bannister railings around the perimeter.
From the left emerged a somewhat cloaked figure. He had a deadly weapon (couldn’t say what it was), and it was understood by both Trump and myself that this person was going to use it on a person who was about to enter the scene from the right, and that this whole thing had been arranged by Trump well beforehand.
      All going to plan……
From the right walks in Bill & Hillary, seemingly oblivious to their fate.
The cloaked figure moved in, but just as he was about to strike, a totally non descript “just married” couple walked in front of them, preventing the strike.
The cloaked figure panicked, and threw off his cloak, and it was seen by all that he had the name “Trump” written all over him.
Trump then turned to me and said, “They’re gonna know I was behind this. I’m the President of the United States…….do something”!!!
I looked at him and said there was absolutely nothing I could do.
He then called for his security to gather around him.
They turned up quick (like when he was shot), but they appeared to be diseased…..like lepers, and he was easily taken away.
As I looked up, I could see Hilary standing with both hands on the bannister railing……a satisfied glint in her eye, and she spoke the words into my mind…..”Got him……finally got him.”
      The dream ended there.
I couldn’t get back to sleep for hours.
Am wondering if old mate G.A Stewart’s musings on Trump being thrown out of office (perhaps via some scandal) may come to pass soon?
      Take care Brother.
Hope all is well at your end.
      Regards,
Ray, North Haven, Australia (formerly in Canberra)

      • Hi Ray,

        That’s a very interesting dream/nightmare.

G.A. Stewart’s site has been down for a while now he is having software issues that haven’t been resolved yet.

Latest post is Trump Attacks Iran – The Time Line (Part 1)
        Part 2 and 3 to follow…

I have read your very intelligent comments at USA WATCHDOG, good stuff, but unfortunately I can’t comment there anymore because as you know, I was banned for including references to The Age of Desolation site.

Thanks for your dream info, it may be prophetic!

        • Good to hear from you Brother.
Hopefully G.A Stewart’s site is up again soon.
One of the best on the net I reckon.
          Regards,
          Ray, North Haven, Australia ?? ? ?

  15. Any recognition of the manga prophecy re July 5 giant earthquake that will devastate Japan and large parts of the Eastern seaboards of Asia? This woman had some remarkable other ‘hits’. Also two others who said similar things.
Two days to find out. We are plotting tactics. Stay in the lagoon and be ready to add lots of length to the mooring or book it out the pass into deeper water. With three hours of warning the deep water option is seeming best as a giant wave overfalling the reef might be too testy for us old bones. In the 3/11 Japan tsunami that hit Maui I got six miles offshore into deep water and never felt it. Nothing. The harbor was destroyed.
Imagine the economic effects of Japan being totally devastated ?
Independence Day… the original No Kings Day. Certainly worth a celebration. Better than the July 14 thingy they do down here to commemorate the Bastille head chopping.
    Stiks

    • The 3/11 Tsunami in Hawaii was officially 12 inches. Maui harbor is a funnel and had several feet of water wash over the flimsy ‘protected’ docks there. But that was the only damage anywhere in the State!

Yeah, you don’t want to be inside reefs or lagoon if the wave height is unknown. In deep water, a tsunami is a nothing-burger.

    • Just think Stiks – you could be in Philadelphia for the 4th of July celebration, in the birthplace of this once great nation. Unfortunately city workers have been on strike for a week, so no Trash pick up..did I mention the temps have been in the mid-high 90’s all week ?

If only there was real Smell -A Vision, so I could share the wonderful odors that are emanating from the City of Brotherly Love with you. Rats, Roaches/Waterbugs & Flies, oh my!

Summer in the City is a unique olfactory experience for all, after a week of no city workers on the job, why even the city Morgue has been doubling up “Beds” – just yesterday they needed a court injunction to force the Morgue employees back to work. Turns out all the contingency/backup Peeps payed & trained to fill in jobs ARE NOT ABLE TO DO THE ACTUAL WORK! Duh-OH!

Cant even say the Mayor is giving city a black eye…might be construed as racist..so we just go with SoS, DD.
Stick with rollers, at least you wont get shot at for looking at em the wrong way.

  16. The Ayatollahs may be a threat, in the future:

US lawmakers propose bill to give Israel B-2 bombers, bunker busters against future Iran threat

The bipartisan bill gives Trump the power to give Israel the power to protect itself against “all contingencies if Iran seeks to develop a nuclear weapon.”

    • Out of Work Steve,
Thank you for pointing out the link. It’s interesting in and of itself that the news aggregators lean towards the Israeli privately held “Jerusalem Post” link rather than the original “Fox News” source.

The text of the “Bunker Buster Act” downloads via link from the website of former Clinton speechwriter and NJ Democrat Congressman Gottheimer. Curiously the text document is dated June 23, the day following the B2 bunker buster strike on Iran’s Fordow.

It would seem the Act requires the USA to build runway extensions necessary for the bombers. The USA will construct storage buildings suitable for the weapons. USA training of Israeli personnel will be required so that Israel can properly be custodian of the ordinances. Israeli decision to use bunker busters against Iran’s nuclear program or Hezbollah’s stored rockets only requires approval of either the US President or the Secretary of Defense.

Here is the Gottheimer office website page’s link to the Bunker Buster Act:

  17. George. As of late I have shifted my thinking regarding BC (do not own any however). Why? because I finally realized (yea, I’m slow apparently) that the US Dollar and BC are identical. By this I mean both are backed by nothing. As a result I feel a slight regret at not buying BC @ $+/-US.

  18. happy 4th july . the celebration of great men of character and strength and their declaration , to make the greatest country . unfortunately hijacked by others and madness . yes god bless america and the good americans left .

  19. re: Royal News
    feat: a Cinderella story

    Folks,
Yesterday as Microsoft proposed to part ways with thousands of employees, the company’s ceo could be found in Denmark. There he was cordially received by Queen Mary. The pair apparently conversed about how their respective philanthropic endeavors can help make the world a better place. Queen Mary of course is an Australian national formerly employed as a Project Manager with Microsoft Denmark prior to marrying the future King Frederik X.

Separately at Wimbledon SW19, tennis play continued on Thursday. The tournament’s website notes that Prince Michael of Kent anchored front row seating in the Royal Box. He is a grandson of King George V and is 53rd in line to the throne. He is a son of Prince George, younger brother to the late King George VI.

  20. Tell Elaine I did my PT, and now I’m Free! Free at last, free at last. My PT driller evaluated me and signed off my graduation pass. Muscle recovery 100%. Well ahead of his schedule. He expected me for another month, but I was a motivated patient. Coincidentally, his bill came in the mail today also.

  21. One omission from your ‘Downsizing’ book was no mention of Solar Hot water heating! The only time my system uses electricity is on a cloudy, rainy day. Big, big energy saver.

    As for off-grid comms…
Free off-grid text comms! The ham radio community here recently sparked a revolution in emergency communications by encouraging individuals to set up their own Meshtastic nodes. What is that? Per Wikipedia:
    —————
“Meshtastic is a decentralized wireless off-grid mesh networking LoRa protocol.[1][2] The main goal of the project is enabling low-power, long-range communication over unlicensed radio bands. It is designed around exchanging text messages and data in off-grid environments, with potential applications in IoT projects where a decentralized communication system is needed without existing infrastructure.[3][4]
Meshtastic uses LoRa peer to peer (P2P), a long-range radio protocol, to form a mesh network by rebroadcasting messages to extend communication reach. Each device can connect with a single phone, enabling messaging in off-grid areas, making it useful for not only messages, but also data transmissions”
    ———
Nodes are small and most are solar powered, remote, and grid independent. From my home at the eastern tip of the Big island, my node now has a communications list of over 215 other nodes on the Big Island, and reaching inter-island to Maui and Oahu islands now. Unlicensed, so non-hams, general public can get in on this also.

    • Yep, been tinkering with that for a few months now. Downside is here in the boonies I’ll have to get my neighbors set up on it, or I don’t have anybody to talk to. Range is a limiting factor unless you have nearby nodes to repeat your traffic.
