We don’t really have much in the way of expectations for this pig of a market going into the weekend. The Dollar hadn’t moved much overnight, but suckers galore and “Buy the Dips” is often a sign of a Charlatan’s Convention. Dow was +220 an hour to the open.
Our focus this morning is on the U.S. Supreme Court Decisions which the libtards are getting all wrapped around the axel over. Supreme Court expands gun rights, with nation divided. OK, they can read.
This AP story is nominally reports the REALITY of gun rights as clearly articulated in the Constitution. Lefty insurrections are pissed making the High Corut sitting ducks for the communist/Marxist third rail seizing in America.
Coverage doesn’t mention MEDIA MANIPULATION, as seemingly credible pollsters results are “sold” far and wide. All part of the ongoing broad-spectrum anti-American, anti-exceptional, pro free lunch as soon as we wrestle yours away from you crowd.
Here’s an example: Confidence in U.S. Supreme Court Sinks to Historic Low (gallup.com). Historic lows? Exsqueaze me?
Our reader Len down in Oz can stand proud because on the Museum of Australian Democracy site, we find a most illuminating discussion of “national polls.” The bottom line is they aren’t particularly accurate. Although straw polls began in 1824, modern polling is more recent:
“Gallup’s first poll, in 1932, correctly predicted a local election in Iowa. Four years later, Gallup went against a more respected straw poll conducted by the Literary Digest, which saw more than two million people return surveys. Based on that data, Literary Digest predicted Roosevelt’s opponent, Alf Landon, would win. “
Which he did not.
Grownups, who have actually studied the polling processes know at a bare minimum polls are influenced by:
- General location of where polls are taken: New York will latch on to damn near any hare-brained idea. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump come to mind. More centrist thinking is likely to be found in under-surveyed area. Missouri, for example.
- The phrasing of the question matters, too: While modern polls do go to great lengths to de-bias questions, that’s only on paper. Which gets us to the poll takers who can spin according to their inflection and mood, too.
- Sociology comes into it: Seniors are more likely to vote than 23-year old’s. So if a poll is skewed young, suspect wrong.
- Technology manipulations have not been addressed. A great deal of what passes as “public opinion” in this Once Great Nation is based on agenda-driven bot swarms. These flood social media, twitter and FB and such. This largely drives left, right, anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-open borders with a simple click of a mouse.
- Lower IQ voters figure into it, as well. A really solid article just two years ago explained “Research shows the IQ scores of young people are now dropping by seven points every generation. Seven points is a lot, especially when the average IQ score in the United States is 98, according to World Population Review.”
The dumber America gets, the more socialist. See it?
Considering the how much the (already Left-leaning) media puts on polls as credible news stories, the actual data offers our different view:
“A poll can get any result you’re willing to pay for.”
I actually had experience in life where we hired a university to create a poll outcome we wanted. Fairly affordable, too. Oh, and it worked.
Which is important to understand “schooling” tendencies of?
American Suckerfish
We don’t get out-and-about as much as we used to. But even 10-20 years ago, people were already being blown about by media in dramatic ways. And it’s only gotten worse.
Stories “go viral” and suck people into fear storms without reason.
One of my daughters and her hubby will be reviewing plans for an adventure trip this weekend after she makes an assessment of how CRAZY the updated Roe v. Wade decision plays when issued.
I mean think about it: She is a typical (very smart but busy) “news consumer.” Such people work 60+ hours a week and don’t have the luxury of “quiet time” in which to dissect and reflect on the nuances behind competing media manipulations. And let’s not forget, Polling organizations are – at their core – businesses.
When you work 60+ you’re “boxed-in” to taking the (limited menu) of news thrown at you. There’s no time to see how the cash flows are moving behind the scenes. It’s like the George Floyd riots. Social “Next Big Thingness” is really out of personal control. Riots are for sale.
Here, you come down to a toughie: Do you live life with no fear and go where you intended anyway and do what you wanted to? Or do you change your plans based on media histrionics?
Attacking Due Process
Rest assured, we fully expect the Left to gin-up some RvW demonstrations. Depending on how much money Soros organizations toss in, and how much the Marxist racial dividers throw, not to mention the emergent gender blocks; yes, there COULD be problems.
Make no mistake, though. Roe v. Wade or Gun Rights is not really the issue.
The Hidden Issue?
It’s CONTROL and the POWER TO DOMINATE OTHERS.
With a conservative Supreme Court, each of the “Adverse to Lefty Agenda Decisions” will be spun into social action. Not the least of which is changing the Court itself. (If you don’t like the trial, shoot up the courtroom is how they roll…)
The handwringers of the Left will try to expand the Court to negate the reasonable Constitutionalists who are making unpopular decision.
But the Court – as constituted – is working just fine.
What’s all controversial decisions fuel is another power-grab. Very October 1917-ish.
We’ll just have to sit back and watch, sadly. Older, calmer heads are systematically ignored when the rabble of society fosters an uprising. Big money in it. Watch your inbox.
Local is What Matters
Elaine and I are “sufficiently armed” with what’s a modest stock of small arms. We also don’t plan to have children.
Neither does my daughter who is considering the “urban terrain when people are crazy.” (Told you she was smart…)
My point to her was simply this: any change to RvW will have not effect on at least four people.
Yet while my daughter (correctly) doesn’t want the government to have any say over what she does with her body, I simply listen and nod as a good listening parent would.
Yet the TRUTH is government ALREADY has control of your body. If you got vaxxed, you already lost. (Daughter got vaxxed.)
Sure. government lied through omission, but control of our bodies really is the battle line. It’s lost.
Not sure how “mandating” unproven vaccines (especially since The Lord High Fauci himself got Covid) how a change on RvW is new ground in body control.
Lefties will wrap it up in faux Freedom! The reality is the right of physical self control has already been seized. Started small – vaccinations for polio eons ago.
We expect a “shocking headline” will come along one day soon. Telling us monkey pox has gone airborne. Lockdown 2 is almost in sight. MANDATE 2.0 will be along shortly.
Government telling women what they can and can’t do with their bodies? Already established; check your shoulder for needle marks.
The People (who were once nominally in charge in America) are locked in a complex War of Process with Elites who are after money, power, and rides on the Epstein jet. Pandering perv’s and worse.
This Bigger Context is carefully kept from public view. Put-up issues and questions like “Do you believe Supreme Court decisions are fair?” are strawman issues put up by traitors in the wings.
I could go on much longer about how the Battle of Process is going. But in the end, we can only speak with authority about what happens on 30 acres in East Texas. We downscaled 20-years ago to more honestly own our future.
We are the Early Anasazi. Who walked away from their society when it began to fail. We just came to that realization a little earlier than most.
Speaking of Droughts
…and wrecking the world abd walking away:
Rumors of heavy thunderstorms – which could give us a break next week – have started to come and go from local forecasts. Phantom Forecasts – dandy.
“‘I’m desperate for rain’: Farmers, experts sound the alarm on a potential Kentucky drought.” And hydro electric plants are in trouble in Italy as record drought there continues. While monsoon floods kill in Bangladesh. Good grief.
Markets
Dow futures are up (suckerfish?) 200-ish. While BTC (tulip eating suckerfish?) are holding just under $21,000 at click-time.
Other than some minor Housing data at 10 AM eastern and some sentiment figures, pretty boring shit on the financial menu today. Oatmeal trading day. *(Code for boring!)
Durable goods, trade figures, and GDP are coming next week, so enjoy any break in the manias while you can.

Around the Ranch: Cat Days
In our never-ending quest for genuine equality, we have to take a moment with 100+ temps coming up again today, to call these “Cat days.”
Which is because Dog Days (of summer) is not inclusionary enough for us to maintain perfect political correctness scores.
Dogs get the credit for the phrase: the hottest period of the year (reckoned from antiquity by the heliacal rising of Sirius, the Dog Star) about now.
But Zeus and Sam (the Siamese back-up cat in training whose sex we don’t know yet – might be Samantha or Samuel – in time) are spending days flaked out in their favorite spots.
Zeus is under the corn planter in the garden room from about 11 AM on – which is when the swamp cooler keeps that room usefully below outside temps. While Sam is under the bottom stair up to the BBQ deck. The concrete pad there is in a well-shaded ares and always somewhat cool.
I mention this so you can update your thinking to “cat days of summer” from “dog days of summer.” And thus, we can all virtual signal to the animal kingdom and become viral heroes of social media. At least in the void between our ears.

I noticed this paragraph …
“While the 2022 scenarios were devised before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the current hyper-inflationary outlook, they should give investors and policymakers comfort that the country’s banks are well-prepared for what economists warn is a potential U.S. recession later this year or next.”
“… devised BEFORE Russia’s invasion …”. kinda caught my eye.
Awe hell, that darn invasion ain’t that important … just a cursory mention … just kinda threw that in there. Nothing to worry about, right ?????? Yep just a darn invasion, nothing more … Banks are gonna be ok.

A little satire…
Why are so many Mc names in bed with far leftist liberals including those posing as Republicans? McConnell-minority leader in the Senate, McCarthy-minority leader in the House; and now that great demi-god, the sideline embarrassment to the University of Texas football team, Matthew McConaughey. Does Mc really stand for Miserable commie?
The White House gave the greasy haired clown McConaughey the stage in the White House Press room, and he rattled on and On and ON about why guns are dangerous. Obviously, the fools in the White House think we really care what his opinions are about guns! Criminals will always have guns Matthew. Comprende? Look at Mexico where guns are illegal for citizens. The cartels kill innocent people every day with all types of illegal guns and machetes and knives. In broad daylight on the streets. It is like liberal Chicago and liberal New York and liberal L.A. where they had all kinds of restrictions on guns, but the criminals still shoot ‘em up and rob. Marxist and Communists in the U.S. have guns and will use them soon when given the chance. Banditos cross the southern open borders by the thousands every week and have guns that they use on Americans.
We now have 14 supposed Republican Senators voting to restrict your Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms when it has to do with guns. The Red Flag laws. Someone gets pissed off at you, lies, and says you are nuts and they come and confiscate your guns without Due Process. One of the 14 turn-coat Republicans that voted for this piece of Marxist legislation is from Texas. Cornyn will be voted out of office when he runs again unless we have been so totally overrun by Wetbacks and California leftists. We shall call him McCornyn in the meantime, Miserable commie Cornyn. How much did he get in Ukraine, when he and McConnell went along with Susan McCollins on their little trip? All three voted for this commie piece of Red Flag legislation and more gun control. McCornyn has been working on this legislation for over a year.
We also have another Mc, the environmental liar Regina McCarthy who’s claim to fame is as an American “air quality expert” whatever the hell that is since they think carbon is the problem rather than methane and other pollutants coming from the earth. Ms. McCarthy is serving as the first White House National Climate Advisor under current White House President Biden. As an “air quality expert,” does she run outside and grab a bottle of air everyday to give to the Chief Air Head in the White House? As if she could do anything about air quality OR climate since it has a lot to do with cyclical changes from the earth (Ring of Fire, Pelé, Vesuvius, under ocean volcanoes, etc.) and the sun sending off record UV rays, Milankovitch cycles (which NASA, among their many other lies, lies about), and CMPs from the sun for millions of years! Plus, there are now over 150 countries that hate America of which many have and use HAARP technology for controlling weather. Russia, China, Israel, Iran.
The radicals here are also trying to destroy America via numerous types of weather manipulation. Yes, another Obama leftover occupying space in the current White House. Liberal Regina McCarthy also served as the very restrictive anti-business Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from 2013 to 2017 under Hussein Obama. You may remember trying to shut down drilling in the Permian to protect a lizard that can out run any drill bit and the people running them.
And let us never forget that war-monger John McCain who never saw a war that he didn’t want America to be a part of. If he didn’t find one, he and his questionable sidekick Lindsey Graham would help start one. Lindsey also voted for this Marxist inspired gun control legislation and shall henceforth be known as Miserable commie Graham or McGraham.
Probably why the Russians said good riddance to McDonald’s hamburger chains and the cheap garbage they sell when McDonald’s corporate pulled out of Russia over their invasion of Ukraine. It cost McDonald’s a $1.45 Billion write off. And now the Russian that bought the 850 restaurants from McDonalds and only owned 24 restaurants in Siberia is re-opening under a new name which translates to: “Tasty and That’s It”. And he is doing away with the Big Mac (Mc) when they re-open. Because it’s “No longer Tasty and That’s It.”
In other words, screw you “Woke American CEOs.” American CEOs, like American billionaires, confuse their positions and wealth with having intelligence in things they know nothing about…vaccines, economics, oil/gas, etc. Ego maniacs. Boards and CEOs should go back to taking care of their shareholders, rather than supporting Marxist Woke ideas like Critical Race Theory and Sexual Trashgenderism and using shareholder’s money to pay billions in fines for their criminal activity.
We don’t care what you endorse in the name of social justice because it isn’t changing our opinions one iota. Your opinions, like the Academy Awards, are not relevant anymore to the overwhelming majority of Americans. We only care about some of your products at a fair price and that has nothing to do with WOKE except stockholders should redefine WOKE as not doing all your manufacturing in commie countries like China and Viet Nam. Keep leftist Marxist politics out of your business!! Right Disney and McDonalds?
another great post WTHS….
“the fools in the White House think we really care what his opinions are about guns! Criminals will always have guns Matthew. Comprende?”
I believe what isn’t being considered.. is the DUAL STANDARDS and flaunting them to the american people.. Is just scaring everyone.. It is quite a bit similar to what happened to expedite the fall of Rome all over again..
Thanks Loob
West Texas must have lead in their water. Possibly the dumbest comment this decade. No liberal wants to take guns away. They and MOR Republicans, the only members of the GOP with brains, want the same rules and regulations with guns that we presently and cooperatively have with cars. Both cars and guns, when operated and used by dumb asses can kill people. Idiots will always operate cars and cause a fatality, but without the thousands of traffic laws, education, license checks, and ability to take that car away from you if you continue to break those laws in place, saves millions of lives.
Idiots with guns will always cause a fatality as well. But if we had gun education like we have drivers ed, renewed test taking, and laws against drinking and driving and applied those to guns, that too would save thousands of lives.
The government can take your right to drive a car from you if you exceed traffic violation points or drive while intoxicated, or are just too old or fail a drivers license renewal test and we all applaud those actions. Some conservative states make people take an in-car breathalyzer in order for the car to start for DUI violators.
Likewise, the government should also take away guns from people that have a criminal record, make it illegal to carry a firearm while intoxicated, and have a history of mental health issues. But…the most obvious way to help stop violence is to make ALL gun sellers and dealers register ALL guns to ONLY viable and sensible owners…Just like cars…AND…there third parties involved too… the insurance companies that also have a stake here will NOT give you insurance if you have violated these rules. And just like cars that are taken via repossession, known stolen and unregistered vehicles, etc…the government should seize guns from known criminals. Taking a cue from cars, should all gun owners have insurance too? There are a lot of gun accidents…Just saying.
On another note…the radical right wants to take away your freedoms in every way. They want to ban the books you read, force religion, restrict the way you vote, censor the TV shows you watch (been doing that for years), control sexual orientation, and more… conservatives very often emphasize the importance of prescription—that is, of things established by immemorial usage, so that the mind of man runneth not to the contrary. In other words keep them dumb and in control.
Today the Supreme Courts decision basically says that women and their bodies do not matter. It’s all about control, control, control. Soon, we will be banned from doing the very things that made this country great…Individual Freedom. The radical right wants collective freedoms, a Taliban like society that they and their radical religions control.
Mark.., the Supreme Court decision says nothing of the kind. WTH !
the lying liberals Say”they are not trying to take our guns away” while they pass laws to take our guns away , laws that deny us due justice in a court of law, just take em away because some unelected bureaucrat says we are a danger,’ without evidence. They just passed that UNconstitutional law today.
the father mucking liars they is
BOOM [abortion] BOOM [gun rights, enforced] two more BOOMS to come this hot summer.
Buckle up buttercups, shit is getting interesting and I hope you continue to post here,,, thank you Mark, my little Canary, seek shelter, Burr found it back in England, home of the Corporation, the enemy, of this United States of America Constitution.
And while I AM here Mark, why do you always try to make Constitutional gun rights the same as driving? Diversion and substitution, playbook of the liars club.
The RADICAL right is the 19 RINO senators that voted for it, they are scared. This too will fall to the US Supreme Court, that just frickin told them,,, shall NOT be infringed, even the CONgress can not willy nilly pass laws, anti the constitution,, try they are, but this constipation will pass to the highest court, to be flushed.
Back in the 2018 mid-terms Q told US the senate was the key, 4 years later the senate court appointments have proved to be key into restoring our country, Lady Liberty, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM, we still got STOLEN elections to be corrected
RED Wave coming, this Nov. NCSWIC,, nothing, like a tsunami in the ocean, we can see it coming, but nothing can stop what is coming!
let us celebrate and listen to some John Lee Hooker tune
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUUyFrHERpU
and by the way, they already have laws against convicted felons from owning guns, just some Sorass backed elected/selected attorneys fail to enforce laws on the books.
Mark,, you and your kind are far far far from being anywhere near the majority,, unless you count fake ballots as being real people,, like twitter bots, fake fake fake, made of silicone/silicon
like the Green Mile, “dead man voting”
Right to choose? That argument didn’t work so well for the ‘mandated’ experimental, DNA altering, graphene & aluminum loaded death shots (not to mention aborted baby tissue)!
“West Texas must have lead in the water”. Nope, we have steel cajones out there, and are not politically correct like you people from the land of Fruits and Nuts.
Your comments about driver’s licenses and guns makes absolutely no sense and you obviously haven’t been hit by an illegal driving a piece of junk. No insurance, no drivers license because it was suspended for DWI for the third time, and the SOB didn’t have a gun permit for the Saturday night special they found on him. So much for licenses.
You should take some lessons from West Coast Surf Dude, and West Coast Deplorable. The kind of guys I would trust. They obviously haven’t been drinking that San Fran Kool Aid and understand the difference from Right and Left. You people have one hell of a Karma bath coming. Splish Splash. What goes up, must come down.
“Today the Supreme Courts decision basically says that women and their bodies do not matter. ”
I’m a woman and I don’t think that’s what the decision says at all.
Apparently, you have good reading skills. Not everyone does.
Just like libs who saw the upholding of existing gun rights as “expanded gun rights’ it’s the crooked Lingo of the left, the readers of revolution.,
You can read without the voice in your head going off on cue. Not everyone can.
Mark,
I don’t know where you live but in my area traffic accidents are routinely caused by drivers who have multiple DUI convictions and suspended licenses. So comparing car regulation gun regulation is specious at best. Historical note: as far as I know the biggest civilian mass shooting was nearly 200 years ago. 120 men, women, teenagers on their way to California were murdered. The weapons were muzzle loader rifles and muskets. The
perpetrators were local settlers. So IMHO the problem is not guns but human innate depravity.
Coming from someone that thinks the American tax payer should foot the bill for student loans. Some would consider that kind of thinking is mentally unstable and you should have every right not to own a firearm. Just know this though, the police are not required to help you if your life is in danger.

If this website was 246 years old you’d still be entertaining the debate as to whether or not we should have left British rule. Apparently some of your frenetic, aristocratic friends think the answer is “No – people should be ruled by dictate and edict.”.

Proving once again that a West Texas Horse has more sense than all of the communist/socialist politicians in the government combined.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; “West Texas Horse Sense for President!”
LOL olfart…thank you for the vote kind sir. I think I would flip out if I was surrounded by all those idiots in D.C. on a regular basis. I already served my time in hell. You would think that the Jews that are all so on board with grabbing guns would be the ones that want everyone to have one…like they do in Switzerland. I don’t think Schumer et al are real Jews. Just say it for the vote.
I know a fair number of Jews, some of whom are members of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Which I consider very logical – they have been stripped of arms previously in history and with horrific results.
Not again.
Only deranged liberal goyim can gun grab for the revolutionaries. Same mindset did the same thing prior to Kristallnacht. Can’t anyone f*cking read history?

Cat days of Summer ?
I guess thesummer days of hot pussy is too risque for urbansurv ? So hot wet pussy on rainy summer days prolly not appropriate either, nutz. The nazis were so fond of mercury that they were squirreling away tons of it and taking it down to Antarctica. Word is thats what they used to power their special flying machines. The ones that ran admiral Byrd and his armada out of there in the late 40s. Pretty good chance those special craft were the same ones doing fly bys over the capital in the early 50s. When the govmt vilifies something so much you know they are hiding something.
Expect RvW demonstrations and a mass shooting or two in the near future. Followed up this fall as you mentioned with a monkeypox vax push and lockdown just in time for the midterms. Even a snot nosed Karen should be able to see that. Nurse Practioner daughter and Son in law did not renew their contract positions at the hospital and will be staying close to their farm for the foreseeable future. She tells me the money was hard to walk away from but it was getting scary to go in to work for both of them. She will be doing a part time nursing gig at the kids school. Yes it is getting that stupid.
Security upgrades around the ranch continue.
Amen.
Copper prices hit 16-month lows on Thursday and has dropped more than 11% in two weeks. A very good indication the global economy is slowing. On Wall Street it is often referred to as ‘Dr Copper’., as it is a good leading indicator of economic growth [ or lack thereof.] Even with war., and rumors of war., the price is still falling.
Copper used to matter in protracted bullet wars. With code and mushroom wars? Not so much.
What Doc Copper Can Tell Us…
Rick Ackerman: Copper’s long-term chart suggests that the global economy could have one last hurrah once the bear market begun in January has run its course. Copper is reputed to have a PhD in economics because of its supposed ability to predict major turns accurately, In actuality, its track record is pretty impressive.
So what is it saying now?

“Yet the TRUTH is government ALREADY has control of your body. ”
As far as I know government did not force vaccine injections. They only required them for government employees or military members, and even those had options to quit or take a dis honored discharged. Now I don’t make light that many people would wilt under that kind of pressure, but that is different then applying the police power to round you up and inject you. In many cases they only have that power because we “submit” to them. We want their money or their benefits so we say yes. I don’t submit making your life more uncomfortable is the same as force. So don’t take away peoples own
accountability to indicate they could not decide to remain un-vaccinated, as far as I know everyone had that choice as uncomfortable as that decision may have had on other parts of their lives.
Coersion is force. See Black’s law dictionary.
Citizens were place into involuntary duress by unconstitutional mandates and made to sign waivers on what the crooked medical commununity conspired to paint as “get vaxxed or die.”
And sign the can’t sue later papers.
Illegal duress.

Thugs don’t own you, but they’ll control you using any means necessary. People need strong boundaries and a willingness to refuse. That refusal often has serious consequences.
“Cryptos have no intrinsic value” – Absolutely correct though for some reason you don’t mention Dollars or euros also have also no intrinsic value. All are a made up medium we have agreed to use to make trade easier. If you want something with intrinsic value, that almost always would involve some physical commodity, like wheat, or cows, or a house. But of course those things are a pain in the but to trade for other items. Gold actually has very little intrinsic value, beyond its use in manufacturing. Anyway, if enough people decide bitcoin is a medium for trade it will have “value”, if they don’t then it wont. I don’t know yet which way this will fall, though I hope it falls on the value side, so we independent people have a mechanism for trade that does not involve the corruption of those that manage our current medium, the dollar.
Thje distinction is an army or IRS agents who can – and do – get their due – the way THEY figure it.
Yes and banks don’t argue with the IRS.. if you don’t have it they give it to them and you pay the penalties..

They are all the emporers new clothes.. a small group convinced everyone that nothing they had or did had any value if it didn’t involve their piece of paper..or number..
Greece just went through that trandition. it took years to break away from the concept of habing nothing is worth more than something they had before the people finally realized.. they still had their skills and talents..their trades and didn’t really need the tailors nothing to get something ..

BTC’s have value as a medium of exchange, though it’s clumsy for many. They’re like traveler’s checks – and many people don’t take either. OTH, many do, and in niche markets, they’re useful, though less so since letter agencies have speedy and specialized software to hunt on the blockchain. As George says, they are a target for the treasury dept. and by extension, you may become one too.
Stores of value over time are always problematic. PM’s have their place, but they don’t easily cross borders with modern tech. FRN’s are useful until we get the great inflation which may happen suddenly when the BRIC’s countries get their ducks in a row. Food is helpful, but it’s perishable and how much can you eat, store, or transport? Most businesses are at the mercy of the prevailing government. If you can’t put it in your head or a backpack, you may control it for now, but do you really own it?
I’ve always wondered how to hold on to real estate when there’s a war or change of government! I’ve seen nothing written on that subject.

If you have ten pounds of nuts.. you have ten pound of nuts… ten pounds of BC doesn’t even weigh a much as a fart in the wind.. it only has value because people believe it has value..
In the beginning, people bartered. Bartering is the exchange of goods or services for other goods or services. For example, someone might swap a bag of rice for a bag of beans and call it an even exchange; or someone might trade the repair of a wagon wheel in exchange for a blanket and some coffee. One major problem with the barter system was that there was no standardized rate of exchange. What would happen if the parties involved couldn’t agree that the goods or services being swapped were of equal value, or if the person in need of goods or services had nothing the person who had them wanted? No deal! To solve this problem, humans developed what is called commodity money.
A commodity is a basic item that’s used by almost everyone in a given society. In the past, things such as salt, tea, tobacco, cattle, and seeds were considered commodities and therefore, were once used as money. However, using commodities as money created difficulties. so store houses were created to house the product and currency was traded so that the person holding the currency could exchange it for a measure of whatever it was.. Salt was a major currency in the past.. and is where the term salary comes from..Salt is still used as money among the nomads of Ethiopia’s Danakil Plains. Greek slave traders often bartered salt for slaves, giving rise to the expression that someone was “not worth his salt.” Roman legionnaires were paid in salt—salarium, the Latin origin of the word “salary.” the UK and the pound.. was once worth a pound.. not all currency is just a promise..
It has only been a modern Plan to not cover currency with anything more than a promise.. the trick was to convince everyone that it still had value..

as long as everyone still believe it has value it will.. the minute the collapse of the economy and it becomes painfully obvious that there isn’t any value left.. then it will collapse.. China and Russia backing their currency with gold ,silver, grain , oil.. gives it a traded value.. which is why I think that it upset the puppeteers so much.. their rate of exchange could take down the power of those that don’t want to share..
Greece went through this..not long ago.. it took a few painful years before they began to realize that what was more important.. waiting for the dollar.. by putting the extra stress on those that work.. they forced them to go back to the way it was in the beginning..

I am more than sure that on some viranda someplace.. this whole idea of the collapse of the system that took them decades to create is being fussed over.. first the fall of the largest money laundering country on the planet.. and then this.. making the money laundering a useless task from the get go.. Keeping the people convinced that their system is what is .. would mean them giving in on their money creation and dumping huge sums on the table to keep it all flowing the way they want..
the same thing happened in Rome.. and during the weimer depression.. I am sure it is extremely hard for the puppeteers.. and probably one reason why everyone is battling so hard to turn this Ukraine situation totally around..
“I’ve always wondered how to hold on to real estate when there’s a war or change of government!”
Good pondering point..@NM Mike..
If all the studies are correct on a shtf scenario..and there are only 600 thousand people left alive in the country..
I believe is totally up to who takes over and how they distribute it among the survivors.

“Here, you come down to a toughie: Do you live life with no fear and go where you intended anyway and do what you wanted to? Or do you change your plans based on media histrionics?”
Took care of that one yesterday George. Removed the last item from my bucket list and did a tandem skydive from 12,000 feet. The first minute free fall before the chute opened was like I imagined the crypto plunge over the last month. The last few minutes hang gliding was peaceful and serene above the maddening crowd. A last blast for this 80 year old that has done pretty much everything else in life he wanted.
Now back on terra firma and battening the hatches for the SHTF. Just turned on the news and heard the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade. Let the peaceful riots begin!
“Removed the last item from my bucket list and did a tandem skydive from 12,000 feet. The first minute free fall before the chute opened was like I imagined”
My grandson just did that to lol lol..
Hit age 80? lol
“Hit age 80? lol”
LOL LOL LOL the way things are shaping up.. I am hoping for a year longer LOL
Congrats on the “Jump”. Very cool !
Where’s the line drawn between comment and political comment? Last I heard, this was not a political site, right? SCOTUS just dropped two nukes this week and I’m not interested in the conservative love fest they might generate. Can we keep it neutral or economics specific? Thanks.
” Supreme Court expands gun rights, with nation divided.”
THIS is why I almost never use AP as a source.
The USSC did NOT “expand” gun rights. It eliminated an unconstitutional abridgement of existing gun rights.
This is like “government accounting” where an agency’s budget goes up 50% but their expenses and outgo only bump 30%, so they “saved the taxpayer 20%” (and yes, I do know what ALL is wrong with that statement, which is why I find it both offensive and stupid.)
I find the AP “gun rights” story stupid and offensive, for the same reason.
“The handwringers of the Left will try to expand the Court to negate the reasonable Constitutionalists who are making unpopular decision.”
The Court’s decisions aren’t necessarily unpopular. They are simply unpopular with a certain, vociferous and immature segment of the population…
“Rest assured, we fully expect the Left to gin-up some RvW demonstrations.”
Oh, I take the low-IQ crowd at their word, when they say the riots will make the Floyd riots look like a family picnic.
‘Thing is, RvW doesn’t do anything, except get FedGov’s unconstitutionally overreaching hand out of the 10th Amendment in this one instance.
“Abortion” is the perfect bait & switch. The pro-death crowd asserts that abortion is “a women’s right to choose.”
“Abortion” is only peripherally about the woman. It is primarily about the unborn child, yet somehow, back in the ’60s NOW got the discussion switched from the cake and focused on the oven, and we’ve been arguing over the oven ever since.
Don’t forget that in most cases, there’s a man involved too! That man may not even know about the pregnancy unless it continues and he gets tapped for child support.
The sad part is if the wrong man gets tapped for money and is not even the father.
Regardless, that man has no say in any abortion decision and often, he has no say in the upbringing if the pregnancy goes to term.
Is your daughter a victim of “mass formation hypnosis?”
Rock and roller Eric Clapton, a staunch anti-vaxxer, suggests anyone who has taken the COVID-19 vaccine is a victim of “mass formation hypnosis.”
The singer, 76, claimed he suffered side effects after his AstraZeneca shots.
In a interview for The Real Music Observer YouTube channel, Clapton said subliminal messaging hidden in advertising is leading people to get the vaccine.
“Whatever the memo was, it hadn’t reached me. Then I started to realize there was really a memo, and a guy, Mattias Desmet [professor of clinical psychology at Ghent University in Belgium], talked about it. And it’s great. The theory of mass formation hypnosis. And I could see it then. Once I kind of started to look for it, I saw it everywhere,” the singer of “Cocaine” said.
“Then I remembered seeing little things on YouTube which were like subliminal advertising. It had been going on for a long time: that thing about ‘you will own nothing and you will be happy.’ And I thought, ‘What’s that mean?’ And bit by bit, I put a rough kind of jigsaw puzzle together. And that made me even more resolute,” Clapton said.

Lol lol a couple years ago just before covid I had a beer with the gent.. super nice guy with an awesome sense of humor.. lol lol..
Thought the security guard was gonna faint lol or drool all over him lol lol
I still wish I had asked for an autograph but the memory is just as good..
Many are caught up in this. Women are much more prone to emotional contagion than men are. I’ve watched close female friends get caught up in these things and it’s just disconcerting. I’ve been to demonstrations for curiosity and felt no emotion at all. That’s true for both sides of the political spectrum. Meanwhile people are screaming, jumping up and down, and seem to get into an almost ecstatic state. It’s like a pep rally or football game.
Pfizer is now the clubhouse leader in the King Herod Invitational,-supplanting Planned Parenthood-as the infant vaccine rollout begins.
See Rudolph Steiner – made this exact prediction over a hundred years ago. The mechanical (via chemies) separation of the Etheric body from the Physical body.. thus creating autonomic slaves.. clever, no?

I believe that The delicate balance of ethics and morals has unfortunately been flipped over and the people are now leary of his activities and competence..the same question is being asked about congress and their lack of leadership..oh hey maybe if they come up with another holiday let’s call it julenty.. maybe people will like them then.
It’s one thing to give a set of laws..
https://lifehopeandtruth.com/bible/10-commandments/the-ten-commandments/10-commandments-list/
Quite another to add to them.. EXCEPT..if your name is.. then the rules and laws don’t apply..
The same thing happened in other civilizations.. the people felt powerless there was a loss of faith and trust .. in most of them the military realized that the only leadership they could count on was theirs..
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Societal_collapse
As it says the collapse once it starts happens quickly but not abruptly..
Everyone knew there were double standards of morals and ethics..it never was a secret just not flashed at you.. in the last year and a half or so it’s been flaunted in everyone’s face.. now it’s been flipped over.. and even bragged about..

Stage 1: Financial collapse. Faith in “business as usual” is lost. …
Stage 2: Commercial collapse. …
Stage 3: Political collapse. …
Stage 4: Social collapse. …
Stage 5: Cultural collapse.
The papers, even the local left-of-center Palestine, Texas paper, headline the Second Amendment ruling as “a major expansion of gun rights”. It’s not. This is actually an affirmation of an already held right and should be reported as a “major reduction on infringement of gun rights”.
I’m still not sure what it means. Does that mean that every sane non-felon American is allowed to carry concealed? Open carry is legal here except in banks or liquor establishments. Is paperwork still required for concealed? I’m glad to see the NY government kicked over on its ass – it deserves it.
Possession of a firearm within the State borders of New York, without a New York State-issued firearms permit, was a felony — Didn’t matter if it was disassembled and pieces of it stored in different parts of your vehicle and you were transporting it without ammo. The draconian NY and NJ firearms laws are why I stopped carrying a firearm on road trips.
Remember that classic line in “Contact” when the WH crew expressed surprise at the 18 hours of static on Dr. Arroway’s recorder following the “failed” spacejump? Folks, President Biden delivered remarks in the Cross Hall around noon today that is streaming on the official White House YouTube channel. What’s kind of interesting? The remarks are preceded by 22 minutes of static test picture stream. Wow, don’t you love those Hollywood production values?
I don’t know why the WH public schedule shows the 2pm Press Secretary media briefing as now being canceled. However there is at least a link which connects with the President’s earlier remarks. Still, it is Friday afternoon, and everyone no doubt has packing to do for a summer weekend. The G7 will be massing at Schlauss Elmo, in Bavaria. These environs were home to Ludwing II, the Fairytale King, and a patron of Wagner operas. Some have called “The Ring” a German Iliad, prophecies for the future.
Happy packing, and have a great weekend everyone!

Lol lol boy do I get that.. a few years ago.. my 4 year old grandson was all worried about a wild rabbit.. he was afraid the rabbit would starve .. snow and ice .. so I told him take a carrot out..pretty soon he was taking carrots out daily .. he named the rabbit Jack..the bunny not jack the rabbit.. it was the damdest thing ..he could go out and yell for jack and if that rabbit was in earshot it would come up running..it would let him hand feed it and pet it.. well he was learning how to ride a bike jack was watching and he fell off.. jacks initial reaction to his fall was to run away then came back to make sure he was ok..lol well jack ended up to be jackie..and had babies..
“We are the Early Anasazi. Who walked away from their society when it began to fail. We just came to that realization a little earlier than most.”
Yep. I’ve known this was coming for most of my life… just didn’t know when. Grateful I made it to my ‘last stand’ before TSHTF.
“Click the comment link to toss in a dime’s worth.”
Well, now… today’s dime ain’t worth much. Unless it’s an old silver dime. An average ‘Roosevelt’ will be $4-$5. But I value my input more along the lines of a 1916-D Mercury dime in excellent condition. You have my address. ;-)
Did anybody else besides Zeus note President Biden’s remarks today about keeping out of the bedrooms of “married couples”? Maybe it was just a typo.
“President Biden’s remarks today about keeping out of the bedrooms of “married couples”?”
Lol …that’s a real oxymoronic statement…So does that mean the kid should quit posting the videos lol
I for one am not the least bit pleased by the Supreme Court decision – as soon as the Dems get in a position to tilt the court you can be assured the 2nd amendment will be overturned. As an aside while I was dating my first wife she worked in administration at an abortion clinic in Omaha – by far and away she saw more right wing conservative daughters, the daughters of Ministers and generally Catholic daughters getting abortions as it was located in the area I grew up. It’s quite another thing when it directly affects you. I don’t know when life begins – I’m not God. But I do know it’s not my body and hence not my choice.
