Resolution Tuesday, Housing in Part 2, Squeezing Solar

TL;DR:  Our dance card (and “the pattern”) is full today.  Part 1 here is SATTP (short and to the point) with Part 2Housing in a few minutes. Focus around here is squeezing amps from solar…

The Future is Ure’s

Dow futures were down a bit more than 100 early.  S&P was down about 15, too.  Bitcoin was $13,107 at press time – and a ton of economic impacting stuff is about to break.

At times like this, a cup of coffee, a quite view of the sunrise helps box in Blood Pressure.  And a flack jacket may be in order. Just in case there’s more than normal “rah-rah” as Trump, Hegseth to headline a highly unusual gathering of top military officials .

We Told You So…

Before the Fed (bent over, groveled and ) gave away Free Money for the Rich with a Rate Cut, we told you that about all that would happen would be massive cash to fund IPOs for the “insiders” and that Inflation would continue sliding slowly up because the US Dollar is falling (it takes more dollars to buy imported good) so it feels like prices are going up. Nope. Money is rotting. Debt ruined it.

The charade?  Well, the money dynamics run on two levels, understand.  For the rich pricks hoi paloi free money is a great deal.  The wholly owned brain-washing media is dog-whistled to report “It keeps money circulating” – but not to the lower end people, but that must be their fault right?

You probably don’t get the NY Fed’s “Multivariate Core Trend Inflation” updates – how could it compete with having eyes glued on T&A and FB, right?  Still, the August report was out Monday and *(drum roll please?) Ure’s right – again.

Yes – inflation sure has come down since 2022 but as you look at the right-hand side of the latest data, it’s very clear that inflation reduction *(not outright disinflation) has already bottomed and is heading up.

I have no argument with the Fed (except the fairytale about, um, most of it) but the reality is that turning around the once-upon a time juggernaut American Economy might be helped with a finely ARTICULATED PLAN.  Which Bessent, Trump, Powell, – the whole cast – has really failed to articulate as we figure it.

“Printing more money” is not a plan, any more than putting more gasoline on a fire isn’t going to change the outcome…

As we figure it, being simpletons and all, we need American Bootstrap 2.0.  We need to have a clearly defined plan to build back the basic industries that would bring America back to Life and which would employ a whole shitload of real people.  Not H1B’s – screw that. Building factories and making infrastructure UPON WHICH we could become great again.

Ure’s Plan to Save MAGA

This ain’t hard but it seems impossible to articulate, Let me help.

  • Start with energy. America needs a next-gen nuclear build-out, small modular reactors on the grid, plus a massive commitment to thorium research. Couple that with advanced grid storage using domestic battery production, not Chinese supply chains. Without cheap, reliable juice, nothing else works.
  • Move on to metals and materials. Rebuild steel, aluminum, rare-earth mining and processing, and chemical plants. If you can’t smelt, alloy, or refine at home, you’re already on someone else’s leash.
  • Third, semiconductors. Not the PR splash fabs, but cradle-to-grave chip ecosystems: lithography, substrates, packaging, and training a workforce that doesn’t depend on H-1B imports.
  • Fourth, transport. Real high-speed rail in select corridors, new aviation research (electric and hydrogen), and fixing every crumbling bridge. Infrastructure isn’t sexy until it collapses.
  • Fifth, medicine. Domestic generics, antibiotic plants, and supply chain redundancy. You don’t win a war—or even a flu season—when your pill bottles ship from overseas.
  • Sixth, agriculture. Controlled environment farming, hydroponics, aquaponics, soil health. Put food security on the same footing as nuclear security.
  • Seventh, housing. Prefab factories cranking out high-quality modulars, tied into apprenticeship programs to re-skill millions. Shelter is a national strength.
  • Eighth, defense. Not just guns and planes, but cyber, bio-defense, and space. Keep it lean, accountable, and American-sourced.
  • Ninth, AI and robotics. Capture the upside by making the tools here, not just renting server space from someone else’s monopoly.
  • Tenth, shipping. Merchant marine revival, shipyards that can actually build tankers, and a port upgrade program so goods don’t rot waiting to unload.
  • Eleventh, water. Desalination, advanced treatment, and inter-basin transfers. The West won’t survive without a water plan, period.
  • Twelfth, education. Trade schools, engineering scholarships, and a war-level effort to restore actual competence in the workforce. No TikTok degree required.

Call it Bootstrap 2.0. It’s not ideology. It’s survival. Without it, we’re just another debtor colony, buying back our own future with borrowed money.

Oh – and have every child before high school have to grow their own food for a couple of day’s w0rth of meals.  Doesn’t take square footage – it takes hydro and aeroponics.  Takes vision.  Food and water? That’s where the rubber meets the road.  If we can’t feed ourselves, or build housing? How can we pretend to lead anyone?

Headlines and the SSDD

You know what that means, right? “Same Stuff, Different Day?”  Roll with me brothers and sisters…

You have until midnight tonight: Trump Slams ‘Deranged’ Democrats Ahead of Shutdown.  With Social Security and Military pay continuing, there’s a lot less pressure for an outbreak of reasonableness.

A little slow on the uptake, aren’t they? Venezuela’s Maduro says he’s ready to declare state of emergency after U.S. military strikes on alleged drug boats.

The high cost of political manipulations in presidential elections is becoming clear as YouTube to pay €21 million to settle lawsuit with Trump over account suspension in 2021.

And for your dining and dancing pleasure, the latest chapter of the “Never ending War Ending” is out: Trump-Netanyahu presser unveils Gaza plan; Analysts say proposal could give Israel ‘a long window’.

Around the Ranch:  Squeezing Amps

I will be back working on the solar power center here today.  Upgrading another charge controller and trying to get any additional power out of the system.

For this is the time of the year when we really like to get the max “oomph” out.  Let’s face it, with 2500 SF under air, that’s a lot of squares to cool 100 percent on solar.  And since we have electric (resistance plus heat pump) fors the dead of winter, a check reveals that on frosty 9-degree mornings, when it’s cloudy, solar just ain’t going to cut it.

But keeping the system in tune?  Well, this time of the year we can get the power bills down to under $100 with some focus.

Latest discovery?  I had what I thought was a charge controller going bad this week – was showing all kinds of screwy readings and dropping completely.  But, as usual, methodical troubleshooting paid off.  Turned out tht one of the solar disconnects had failed – even though supposedly “rated 100 amps”  – well, it failed (melted) at 60 Amps.

And that’s how life rolls often these days: Not “As Advertised.”  Retailers don’t seem to care, producers are in China, so what’s a guy to do?  Upsize and economize… which works for now, but it won’t forever – and that’s the point.

Once upon a time you could build to a 20-year spec and actually make it.  Cars used to be on the road over a million miles back when the new Japanese imports landed.  Now?  The science of planned obsolescence is coming for us all.

More in my book Downsizing – which I am thinking about turning into  course for young people.  Because the future is not on your phone – it’s in your hands.

And somehow we see, to be missing that.  We have to hand it to us.

Write when you get rich,

George@Ure.net

      Folks,
Russian Telegram channel “Retribution” has launched a post regarding a Chicago-headquartered purveyor of fast food whose mascot is a popular clown. Beneath an image of uniformed Ukrainian youth eager to serve their next customer in line, it is alleged that the Ukrainian subsidiary offers exemption from military conscription. Allegedly all it takes is $15,000 and completion of a job application to flip burgers.

Interestingly the corporate overseer of the Ukrainian ops shows registration in the public UK Government records. As chance would it, first registration took place two days prior to commencement of the Special Military Operation in February, 2022. Its UK corporate headquarters office is domiciled in the London suburb of New Southgate in North London. This borders ancient Enfield Chase which was privatized through enclosure in 1777 by King George III according to “Wikipedia”.

New Southgate is actually a relatively recent renaming of the former Colney Hatch which dates to the 15th century. Nowadays former grounds of the infamous Colney Hatch Lunatic Asylum reflect an idyllic mixed-use suburbia.

      • And to think back in “Our Day” one had to actually cross the border and go into Canada to get an “Exemption” (for those who were older than me for many years one could get a temp exemption by becoming a college “student”, but that wasn’t a permenate “Exemption”)

$15,000 and getting to stay “in country” sounds pretty cheap to me.

      • when i do make it to the wailing wall, its been some time since i been there. last time i was there was 1990. im not wearing that stupid little hat.

in the bible it says clearly in Galatians 3:28 reads, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus”.

so i am not required to wear the stupid little hat. those who wear that little hat are still under the laws of the old testiment. Those of us who have been liberated through Gods expression of Love and Grace in Christ Jesus are not bound by the laws of the Old Testiment. We are liberated even from the chains of natural laws of such as life and death.

one of the last words of faith Christ said before is victory over death was, ~ I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise ~

paradise is a whole nother world. you have to go through this world to get to that world.

i do find it interesting that they changed the name to The Department of War, and had a big meeting with 800 Generals and Admirals on Septemeber 30th, which happens to be a month before i start at MSC.

thank you for your prayers. i pray for a lot of people. every morning first thing. many who never know i pray for them. even a few on here.

never forget, i live in the Realm of the Astondingly Miraculous. where the math of That World in this world doesnt add up. and that i see on many occasion what the rest of the world doesnt see present, but it is very much present.

such as many only see men hauling phosphate ore from the tipple to the stacker in the mines of soda springs idaho, But i See the movement of spirit and light circulating through a living dynamic Grand Expression of the Merkaba.

may just see an upstairs appartment in an old mansion on Eagle Mountain Ranch. However, I see the scale (and exact positioning to the stars and rising and setting of the sun) replica of the City of The Gods.

its like Eleanors sadness about me burning that house of cards to the ground. i see living expressions of the Tarot every day. every day. i can be standing in burger king picking up my whooper meal and cleary see the dynamic expression of The Emperess, The Cheriot and The Wheel of fortune cards interweaving throughout the lobby. living dynamic expressions. which is way cooler to me than a bunch of cards.

i see that stuff all the time. i just dont say anything about it. you either see it or you dont.

i also see living expressions of Bible Scriptures being played out around me all the time. all the time.

its like a dance, that everyone is participating in and is completely oblivious to.

to me that is the #2 tool for prepping. the #1 Tool is a relationahip with THE DUDE.

        Thank You for your Prayers.

I have to get my ass in gear. im trucking for another couple weeks. Good Money, Easy Money.

have a super fun weekend planned. like i said. i will stop in once and a while and check in, but military supply movement and their personnel. that is classified information. not to be taken lightly.

i did prepare for that. i do have another website up and running. once i start this Next Grand Adventure? i will post there. i plan on doing resturant reviews all over the world. with pictures of the menues and the place. :)

      • its like a couple months ago i saw a few fellas chatting away back and forth within the comment section here on urban survival, within the dialog they were talking about Bitcoin and alt coins and all that
but within the dialog they constructing and weaving the context of the Lords Prayer and were completely oblivious to it.

the context of the Lords Prayer was completely present. thy kindom come and thy will be done. as it is in Heaven so it is on earth.

they were not using the Lords prayers exact words but the images of the words they were using were very much weaving the Lords prayer. context wise, it was a perfect match. they were actually bantering back and forth and at the same time weaving the Lords Prayer, give us today our daily bread, forgive us our tresspasses etc. etc.

the funny part to me is, one openly admits a a complete disdain for yahweh. and yet there he was participating on context, in The Lords Prayer while ranting about Bitcoin and other stuff.

        i just smile.

      • here i will give you an example from yesterday.

yesterday i was on a job driving dumptruck. i was told to stage over by the park until they needed me. i parked at the park and looked over and saw this,

        https://x.com/ore_train_11/status/1973393357528297664?t=Tff3BjYfZZiAJv0gfYdcQA&s=19

a lion statue. on the other side of the lion was the light rail. on one car it had the picture of a lady. on the pedistal for power next to the road someone painted the infinity symbol. above the sun was shining down. that the exact image found on the Strength Tarot card. so i knew I was resting from a position of strength. facing east.

on the platform in front of me, waiting to get on the light rail stood a transvestite with one of them 5 gallon jugs of water. it kept sloshing out the top of the jug

transvestites are also called Queens. so as i rested from a position of strength i could see the Queen of Cups right infront of me to the east.

The Queen of Cups represents deep intuition, emotional wisdom, and nurturing empathy.

i see stuff like this all the time.

Eye also See bible scriptures in full dynamic motion on display all the time. All the time.

most of the world is oblivious to it.

i mostly dont say anything. but i see stuff like that alot in the comment sections. that is to some degree i dont reply to some comments. because they know not what they do.

        :)

        until we meet again,

        I Win with God within.

        • That is a wonderful way of “seeing” Andy – well done. Elaine sees things all the time – that IO miss until she points them out – and that is a gift!

      • p.s. i find it interesting when someone mentions their female spouse then goes on to talk about increasing their profits in bit coin investments.

the hopi word for woman is Mana. Mana from Heaven = Give us this day Our Daily Bread.. from the Lords Prayer.

then to watch the exchange between 2 people write in an exhange the entire fullfillment of the Lords Prayer in a dialog, without being aware of doing so…

well its really so wonderful to see such things. :)

nobody found Urban Survival by taking things at face value. the real gems are hidden beneath the surface gold.

    • Stay safe, Andy.

“If spiritual reality is real, if there is a God and a devil, if there is a cosmic war playing out through human history, then the devil’s objective is simple: collect as many souls as possible before time runs out. Keep people distracted, debased, and disconnected from the divine. Make them comfortable in sin. Convince them that nothing matters except pleasure, power, and profit. Keep them consuming, fornicating, medicating, and entertaining themselves until it’s too late to change course.”

      • live or die? Praise the LORD.

HIS Grace gives me alot of leeway.

I wasnt sent into this world for my purposes. although i must say, I have had a super good time.

THE DUDE created me for HIS reasons. When I look back from Eternity at my time on earth, I will smile and say yeah, that was good.

Thanks For the Prayers. its going to be such a GRAND ADVENTURE!

if you read the stories on my last website creation as THE DUDE often says to me, “You aint seen nothing yet, I Am just getting started!”

        ha ha!

        so, we shall see.

THE DUDE is my Best Friend. this Whole Adventure is HIS idea. Who Knows what HE has in mind. I might end up sitting a table with The Prince of Dubi. ha ha ya never know. could happen. THE DUDE put me walking in the Fed meeting in Jackson Hole when I didnt even know it was there and going on. THE DUDE put me in an elevator with Elon Musk at the Eagles Concert. THE DUDE made sure i got a book signed by Pope Leo XIII long before i was born. THE DUDE put me standing in a well filled with dirt where nobody has stood in thousands upon thousands years on the Oldest Tribe in North and South America Rez. All kinds of super cool stuff.

i do find it peculuar that those fellas like Elon and others act so nervouse around me.

im just Andy. not really that big of deal. THE DUDE, That is Who is the Big Deal.

        Jesus, my LORD and King!

i am excited about the next chapter! Haze Grey and underway!

        I Win with God within!

        Woooooooooooooooo!

feat: Emerson House, LA, defunct publisher

        JC,
Thank you, apparently a lot more happened in 1963 than what we are led to believe. May I go on a meander with this?

Grok suggests from its perspective that the current interest in “The Adam and Eve Story” can include a January 12th tweet on “X” in Portuguese at the following link:

        https://x.com/zakclipes/status/1878540612959363311

Speaking of Portugal, let’s journey to Wasilla, Ak., home of Mayor and 2008 VP Candidate Sarah Palin. As an aside according to “Wikipedia”, it seems Chief Wasilla and thus the city’s name is derived from his Russian name of “Vasilij”. The English equivalent “Basil” is said to translate as “royal/kingly”.

Let’s join DJ George in studio with a band transplanted from Wasilla, Ak., to Portland, Or. – “Portugal. The Man”. From their “Woodstock” album of flaming Rolls Royce cover, here’s a YouTube link to their apocalyptic “Feel It Still” –

        https://youtu.be/pBkHHoOIIn8

As chance would have it, their Bandcamp link indicates a next album, “Shish”, drop in early November at the Revolution Hall in Portland. It will perhaps compliment the anniversary of Russian rear admiral Shishmaryov who surveyed the Alaskan coast 210 years ago.

        https://portugaltheman.bandcamp.com/album/shish

    • “after that, my location will be classified. i will be sure to stop by and check in time to time.”

      I suggest you not.

If you are seeing or doing anything that’s “classified,” you will be periodically looked in upon. This is both an economic site and a “prepping site.” Unless Kash and Pete have changed things,
      prepping = security risk
      in the eyes of Uncle.

It’s awesome that God has your six. Please be aware, He also gave you a mind capable of reasoning, so you could avoid doing some stupid shit, without His counsel…

  2. A while back, you mentioned an alternative to home owners insurance. Did I miss your conclusions ? Thankyou.

    • Check into what’s called a “tenant policy” – we have a million liability, covered the shop building and a mess of contents and halsf the price of a full homeownewrs with fire replacement – which isd unobtainium out here in the woods anymore…

      • be careful there. unless your buildings are in a separate sort of entity (corp, trust, llc) that you are actually renting from, you could be facing denials and exclusions in coverage. tenant’s policies will not cover buildings. tenants have no interest in the buildings so tenant’s policies usually only cover contents and temporary housing.

      • Be sure to actually READ the policy … and not let AI tell you what it says.

An actual recent test of AI’s reasoning ability gave it this simple question: Which weighs more: a one pound steel plate or a two pound bag of chicken feathers. AI said they both weighed the same.

  3. FMR!
    -at a rolling doughnut

Electrical tale of woe, woe be unto the absentee homeowner.

The “chain” started something like this, unbeknownst to Moi at time, salt water pool needs run pool pump everyday. Pumps are on timer, usually set for night time running of big cycle – this was before Solar.

So BCP leaves Belize in March for USA, pool pump timer (electromechanical) freezes/stops working in April, did not know at time.
Pump is running 24/7 now = baseline 3kW.

Right before we left for CONUS, had the Generac system serviced – needed new battery (tropics hell on batteries). So my bldg maintenance guy – decides to recharge old POS battery. Does not work, does not hold charge. fckr.

Power Dist in Belize is dicey at best on a good day, bad day ? forget it.

So for months Apr- Sept , Solar kept dropping out everytime power outage – due comms tween Generac and Solar system and DEAD BATTERY. fckr
At same time fucking Timer is broke and pump running 24/7 – costing me over $800/month BZE. All this crap is happening and I am thousands of miles away..expecting my property guy to have replaced that damm battery. fckr
I thought it was my solar system somehow drawing all that extra juice.

Anyway after many heated discussions with solar provider I had solar tech and Generac tech together last week at house to trouble shoot this Belizean cluster fuck. Turns out solar was working fine – Generac had bad Comms board(ATS) – replaced, and dead battery. fckr
Found and iso’d the bad pump.

Perception – my perception was the above was a Solar provider problem as it seemed the overages only came to light when the system was on the fritz. Yes solar provider is partnered with Generac in Belize.

Cant put into words how disappointed I am in my building mgr’s crew that has been working at the house the whole time, and is responsible for the Pool. *^%$@#!*@!$&@#*(#!

    I Was depending on them..DAMMIT .

    • Watts amatta, you ask? McDonnell Douglas engineer Chan Thomas appeared on Johnny Carson’s The Tonight Show along with Eva Gabor which broadcast on April 7, 1965. It seems McDonnell Douglas and Rockwell International had extensive overlapping business interests. Interestingly eight years later, Eva Gabor married her 5th husband, Frank G. Jameson. He was a WW2 Navy veteran and a VP of Rockwell International. The following link takes one to a now-public 1976 letter between a US Navy Admiral, Stansfield Turner, and Mr. Jameson.

  4. Trump/military

Back in the olden days wasn’t Trump a Peacenik? ‘End the wars, blah, blah, blah…’ Funny how that works.

“but not to the lower end people,”

Reagan said give the new money time to trickle.

trickle – come, go, or appear slowly or gradually.

I see all kinds of frivolous lawsuits. Lawsuits are everywhere. Look to Trump suing so why shouldn’t we? Find a Saul to take the money from the rich.

    • No shitski OoWS,

But telll me where the hell are all the INDICTMENTS ?

There doesnt seem to be any – von comey a joke.

Can hardly wait for the next blast of pysop smoke to be blown up my Ass by some Qtards. “israhell for last” NEVER gets old..bwahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

NOTHING ever happens – nothing ever will.

No longer ORANGE – that fat POS is now Bloody Red tRUMP.

fat bastard must have swallowed every last drop of bloody charles load, whilst visiting last week.Mmmmmmm Good!

Prolly bout wore out from bibi working it so hard with no lube or anything..just sand…thats gotta hurt.

  5. Ure’s how to make America great again seems a bit lacking.

#1, it’s primarily based on technology. Technology only helps get through a bottleneck. Then we’re back to collapse mode.

#2. Ure does not appear to understand resource limits. Of all kinds.

What level of population at what standard of living are there adequate resources?

#3, Nukes. Tell us about and how to solve the waste problem and describe what happens when a, even small, nuke blows. Down the block from your neighbor?

#4 And is NUMBER One. An energy policy is first and foremost a population policy. You sometimes say population is an issue, but do NOT include it in your solution. It’s #1, and #2, and #3.

    :(

      • Obviously not. I also suggest “Packing to Die” and any of your other books. They are all worth a read and have helped me.

    • Dell
You get rid of the waste by getting rid of yet another Shit for brains Jimmy Carter F’up, his EO banning Breeder Reactors.
Breeders consume high level waste and generate was so low level it can be stored outsider in earth dikes for 6 months then buried.

And the Small Modular Reactors are all just Navy sub and Carrier reactors.
The reason all US reactors are so difficult to maintain is unlike Ford Falcons, every Nuke sight is not just a custom creation, but an Ed Roth goofy as shit, ridiculous custom creation because they all had to be built against their own particular set of Lawfare during the construction. Not one are the same and have any interchangeable parts. The reason the Subs nukes are so reliable is they are MODULAR, they are all exactly alike, with spares for everything, built to US Navy FAR Specs.
      Make all the SMRs Breeders.

  6. Something must have the financial types nervous(more than usual). Today I had to do 2FA four times and respond to a fraud alert just to check my bank account and make one legitimate online transaction that I’d done several times before! It’s getting so bad it’s almost quicker to do transactions in person.

I wonder how much of the government will continue to function without current pay. I spoke with an FAA controller this weekend(off duty) and she’s bracing for having to work her job(she likes it) while getting no pay until the idiots in DC get their act together. I wonder about other agencies that matter(not too many), other than SS. I suppose it will be an interesting month.

    • America will see its largest mass resignation in history as 100,000 federal workers are set to quit their jobs today

Today, America will experience its largest mass resignation in history, as 100,000 federal workers are set to formally quit their jobs. It’s a result of the Trump administration’s “fork in the road” Deferred Resignation Program (DRP) that staffers have taken up over previous months, who were allowed to transfer their workload and go on administrative leave until the official end date of federal service on September 30 2025.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) tells Fortune that about 154,000 federal workers in total took the deal, with the majority leaving today and others exiting by the end of year.

      https://fortune.com/2025/09/30/us-largest-mass-resignation-in-history-federal-workers-careers-donald-trump-administration-doge-job-hugging/

      • and the good news is … we don’t pay them anymore, not this year nor the next. business often finds a way to go slim staff. but, never government. actions of this administration are making omlettes so break some eggs. so it goes. E

        • I read somewhere last night late that of the 2,000,000 Fedgov workers on the books Trump Bessent Vought were on track to remove 300,000 by EOY 2025.
          Thats a15% RIF.
          Think about that.
And, that was BEFORE the Shutdown Opportunity came along.
          Think about THAT.

      • Thesse are the earlier retirement/package deal they accepted earlier in the year that goes into affect today. This is a false/misleading headline.

      • lol… the walkout isn’t about losing pay—it’s about being paid to leave, in a system that many felt undermined their dignity and purpose. The deeper issue is that this program reflects a shift toward at-will employment, eroding traditional civil service protections and hollowing out institutional knowledge across agencies like the VA and FEMA… this totally reminds me of my sister that was upset that they were going to make insurance open to anyone..but they didn’t stop the fact that they can price gouge health insurance costs..she said yup Dodgers were going to leave in droves..huh..where to sack groceries at the local market or move to another country… federal employees have extremely low family healthcare costs great retirement great above average wages.. school loans a lot of the time forgiven .. every federal holiday off.. great vacation time that isn’t offered to the vast majority..lol lo! A mass walkout would kind of like hitting ones finger with a hammer..lol lol lol..it might hurt for a bit but..there’s plenty ready to walk in behind them and take over..
I know what one of my doctors make.. and he has huge amount of vacation.. no overhead costs..walking out of a sure thing would be totally stupid if you ask me..

  7. President Donald J. Trump Announces First Deal to Bring Most-Favored-Nation Pricing to American Patients

Today, President Donald J. Trump announced the first agreement with a major pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, to bring American drug prices in line with the lowest paid by other developed nations (known as the most-favored-nation, or MFN, price).

    • If this doesn’t chap RFK Jr’s ass I don’t kmnow what will…….. doing a deal with a mass murderer and bragging about it …….. incredible

      • “I don’t kmnow”

I think we have found the issue.

        RFK was present.

Please name the “mass murderer” and post your IP, so (s)he knows not to accidentally slap that 10-figure defamation suit on George…

    • It would be nice..but.. we have greed playing here..so I will believe it when I see it..Its always the business model..

  8. #1 water
    #2 shelter
    #3 food

Then the rest make sense. All those work even when the EMP has blown every circuit. Those enable the rest to be made whole again.
Living as we do, I know my H2O is number one, my hull/watertightness next, and something to eat will keep us going. The small MIT designed watermakers that are solar powered and pull from the atmosphere should be a must have for anyone interested in continuing life, on dirt or on water.
Clif had a good one this morning that says basically, shit’s very close to the fan blades. We are all in this together to have a common experience, a teaching moment, whether we like it or not.
Seems the root question is , Why?
    Stiks

    • Yep. MIT designed one. Looks good. Sounds great. But i’ll be damn if I can find where to get one., or build one. Seems they did it., but no one is making them.

      • An Air well… heck just make one.. the one they have is nothing more than a small pump.. you can use a dehumidifier with built in pump..pumps the weather through a filtration system then into a water resevoir..air wells have been around for thousands of years..buildings where the water collects on the inside and drains down into a cistern or well…the dew condensers of Theodosia (modern-day Feodosia in Crimea), which were once believed to be ancient Greek structures designed to harvest water from the atmosphere. These were studied by Russian engineer Friedrich Zibold around 1900, who found massive stone mounds and terracotta pipes that he theorized were part of a large-scale water collection system. He estimated that each structure could produce over 55,000 liters of water per day… most air wells were geologically positioned like the well of david..I have been yapping this for over fifty years.. build solar towers at every substation starting at the furthest point from the power plant each to work as a mini grin in hard grid down..hand out grid tie solar power system to every home.. ( cheaper by far than those big wind turbines..and a hundred percent more power..the flutter of a butterflies wings..) build air wells in arid regions to harvest the water in the atmosphere.. greenscaping cities to reclaim lost crop production area.. put CO2 filters on every lamp post.. the only problem is the business model.. it doesn’t support the business model if stuff big buck billies pockets..
but a small air well hell you could have one for three hundred easy..

        • ” put CO2 filters on every lamp post..”

          You were doing so well…

You made such an important post, for folks who don’t realize anyone can build a “water collector.”

Now you’re trying to kill the planet and everything on it, again. We don’t need less CO2, we need considerably more.

Earth’s inhabitants flourish best when CO2 is at about 23990 ppm. It is currently between roughly 180 and 700 ppm (depending on where it’s sampled), which is almost too low to support life. There is less carbon on this planet than there has been in at least the last 12,000 years. We need for more to be bioavailable, not less, and we need to better-utilize it when it is atmospheric, not sequester it out of the circle of life…

        • (“You made such an important post, for folks who don’t realize anyone can build a “water collector.”
Now you’re trying to kill the planet and everything on it, again. We don’t need less CO2, we need considerably more.”)
yes I agree we don’t need less CO?—we need to restore the systems that know how to dance with it. Concrete jungles have suffocated the breath of the planet, replacing forests with heat traps and steel. Instead of chasing carbon like a villain, we should honor it like a misunderstood guest. Let every streetlamp wear a clay filter, every rooftop host a moss garden, every wall echo the lungs we’ve lost. The answer isn’t subtraction—it’s rebalancing through reverence.

        • For over fifty years, I’ve advocated a safer, smarter path—one that doesn’t gamble with radioactive risk or saddle future generations with toxic legacy. Nuclear power may boast low emissions, but its waste is expensive, dangerous, and poorly understood, with disposal systems that rely on geological guesswork and political will. Instead, we could build three-sided solar towers at every substation, distribute grid-tied solar systems to homeowners, and greenscape our cities to restore balance and beauty. In arid regions, air wells could harvest water from the sky, turning deserts into sanctuaries. Solar panel waste is real—but manageable, recyclable, and non-lethal. The path forward isn’t buried in uranium—it’s rooted in sunlight, stewardship, and distributed resilience.

  9. Nuclear Power having a comeback?

Aint going to hppen until they finally take care of the nuclear waste from nuclar power plants issue. We are still storing AT the nuclear power plants some of the nuclear waste that was generated in the 1970’s! We STILL do NOT HAVE a long term nuclear waste disposal site … so the stuff just continues to accumlate dispersed all over the entire country, a little here a little there, some of it at almost every location VERY dangerous.

Guy who lived across the street from me where I grew up was an engineer and late in life he started his last job … working on the already shut down for 15 years Fernald Nuclear Enrichment Plant (a reactor, shut down in 1956). That was in the early 1970’s.

They FINALLY finished the clear up of that nuclear reactor site in 2006 after working on it CONTINUOUSLY for FIFTY (50) years and spending $4.4 Billion Dollars (adjusted for inflation that would probably be about $20 to $30 billion in today’s money).

Nuclear Waste Storage has been a “Kick The Can Down The Road” dynamic for the last 60 years … and NO SOLUTION is even on the horizon!! Why would anyone want to ADD more problems to that can of worms by opening MORE nuclear power plants … future waste disposal costs not even calculable?

(fwiw: Fermi 1 melted down in 1966 … and they STILL have to pump cooling water through it continuously and STILL haven’t figured out how to get the melted fuel out of it and disassemble that nuclear power reactor … same deal with Three Mile Island unit 2 which melted down in 1979)

    • I’ve been working on the waste storage thing with a retired metals guy who has worked a career making mostly hollow element 22 thin walled structures that are now being looked at from high levels. Our ideas can change the whole storage picture. That would be a game changer. Quietly moving ahead.
      Stiks
This is actually ‘old’ tech with many patents. Just needs successful application.

    • Nuclear waste is far less polluting than solar panel waste, and it is far less persistent. Just to name a few, gallium, germanium, antimony, and arsenic can trash an entire aquifer much more thoroughly and for many times longer than the half-life of spent rods.

Contrary to popular myth, the people living at Chernobyl do not glow in the dark, and the flora is some of the most exquisite on Earth. There are still radiation pools in places, but the region is healing itself in a manner which defies science — well worth checking out.

Also, do understand: According to a ranking FEMA dude I talked to years ago about radiation residuals, if Ingraham had spilled a drop of radium paint, there’d be a seven square block area of NYC where entry, passage, and residence would be banned for 3000 years. Our alphabets err on the side of draconian caution, if it keeps their bureaucracies funded…

      • hmm..what’s their secret..oh yes.. marijuana… dam that would mean that congress would have to give up some lobbyists money gifts ..Considering Russia had Decided to take a surprisingly elegant approach to managing the vast radioactive contamination from Chernobyl—by planting vast fields of hemp (aka marijuana) and sunflowers, two plants known for their ability to absorb heavy metals and radioactive isotopes from the soil through a process called phytoremediation. These botanical allies don’t just beautify the land—they actively heal it. If the United States were to fully legalize and embrace hemp cultivation, we could deploy similar strategies to restore polluted sites, detoxify abandoned industrial zones, and even fortify our infrastructure against future environmental threats with a fully sustainable building materials and alternate fuel source. Hemp isn’t just a crop—it’s a green tool of resilience, waiting to be unleashed. the biggest issue..is it doesn’t fit the business model..and we pretty much have an idea who our politicians are working for..
        https://youtu.be/C51NmWwjkbs?si=xmFBc_l6tsmDYNtn
just about every college has a study on this not just Princeton..

      • Oh then consider Solar panel waste, while often misunderstood, can be safely and effectively recycled through established processes that recover valuable materials and minimize environmental impact. Panels are primarily made of glass, aluminum, silicon, and small amounts of metals like silver and copper. At end-of-life, they can be dismantled: the glass and aluminum are easily separated and reused, while the silicon wafers and rare metals are extracted through thermal, chemical, or mechanical treatments. Advanced facilities can recover up to 95% of a panel’s materials, turning waste into new panels, electronics, or construction materials. Unlike nuclear waste, which requires millennia of containment, solar waste is non-lethal, manageable, and part of a circular economy—especially when paired with strong policy and infrastructure.

  10. Nice plan George, but we all see what the actual priorities have been, from day one. Remember that half trillion dollars?
The ongoing result of said priorities is presented in the video below.
When they announced lockdowns, the future was abundantly clear. When they began stimmie checks, even more so. That recent half trillion was just icing on the cake, for which we are paying in multiple ways.
So for anyone engaging with AI…you’re not only screwing your neighbors, you’re paying for your own digital prison.

  11. “Let’s face it, with 2500 SF under air, that’s a lot of squares to cool 100 percent on solar. And since we have electric (resistance plus heat pump) for the dead of winter, a check reveals that on frosty 9-degree mornings, when it’s cloudy, solar just ain’t going to cut it.”

    1. If you are using solar you minimize the demand for electricity.
    Do you have adequate water?
    2. Arrange a set of water nozzles on the roof. These will not spray on the roof but above the roof. Can be pumped or use system pressure. A roof temperature sensor will open the valve / initiate the pump and spray up above the roof. This will cool the roof in about 5 minutes of spraying to near ambient temperature. When the roof temp is the same as outdoors the heat transfer (Q = A(t roof – t out) ) goes to ZERO. The nozzles will run about 2 or 3 times an hour culminating in about 10 to 15 minutes of spray time. Then the water shuts off until the roof temperature climbs back up to your set-point ( I recommend about 130 to 140 F).
The roof load is 75% of you AC load.
    3. Collect solar as what it is best at – heat. Look up Barry Commoner’s solar water heater ( that we put on every Scout camp shower in Missouri when I was a kid). I have built simple collectors using the reflectors from used/abandoned florescent light fixtures. Put them in a rack and run steel pipe in the light trays. Pump heat transfer fluid (usually mineral oil) through the pipes ( again, use a photo sensor to turn on/off the pump as the sun rises/sets. It will get to an exceptionally high temperature – even in the winter (more than boiling – be careful!). A used LNG tank is suitable for holding the oil (double wall like a thermos) This will give you a source for hot water that can be piped around to base board heater units as well as you sinks/tubs.
    4. Use solar electric for the things that are electric! TV, Lights, computer, Shop motors, etc.
Don’t collect solar to make heat!
Doesn’t heat degrade the performance of solar anyway?
And I thought you were smarter than this!!!
Remember -ASBROWNPE means that I have done all of this before.

  12. I had a feeling it would – markets reversed in the last two hours and ended up in positive territory.

    There’s always tomorrow.., right ?

  13. I am quite happy I went with a leased solar PV system from SunRun. They took care of the dead battery fiasco at no cost to me. Hawaii grid cost here pushes $0.50/kWh. That accounts for about half my usage. The SunRun system is a ‘size standardized’ cookie-cutter system for the local weather. At my monthly lease rate, it has been producing the other half of my electrical needs at slightly less than half the grid costs. Depending on sunny days, the PV system comes in at $0.22/kWh. Energy conservation is extreme here, with total LED illumination for the whole house. Air Conditioners available are rarely used. Have not used them yet this summer. A/C will add another $100-200 to the monthly power bill if used.

My hot water is a separate solar heat system that stores a lot of hot water at 180 degrees in the tank, and has a 140 degree mixing valve on the output usage. Electric backup on an evening timer if we had a dark day with little warm water. There is usually plenty of hot water in the tank yet for morning ablutions at sunrise.

  14. re: Sept. 24th
    feat: buzz in the air

    Folks,
Is a fall season buzzing in the air? The President of the Ukraine publicly informs that his military team has been in Denmark with drones. Apparently he thinks leaders at tomorrow’s EC meeting in Copenhagen should be interested in a “drone wall”.

Here is a link to a CNN report from yesterday previewing the meeting in the shadow of recent mysterious drone sightings. I don’t know about you, but call me stumped about that stuff. An article image portrays a public entrance to Aalborg Airport. Displayed is an advertisement for footwear perhaps suitable upon challenging terrain. Viewers are encouraged to “Fear Nothing”.

  15. Good opinion piece by Ron Paul on 1/6:

    https://ronpaulinstitute.org/the-real-jan-6th-coup/

If my memory serves me corrected, readers on this and other friendly websites were urging people to stay away from the capital. So how many of the @sses calling for action were on the government payroll? If there were more than 250 FBI operators and informants present at the rally, then how many paid operatives were there fanning the flames on social medias? Hundreds? Thousands? Were NGO’s involved in the operation? And how many other federal agencies had operatives present? Were paid operatives and informants really the majority of those present ? Did this giant task force have a code name?
