Let’s Run the Numbers:
We still don’t see a reason for the Fed’s rate cut – based on this morning’s lack of job cuts in fresh data:
“Oct 02 September Job Cuts Fall 37% From August; YTD Total Highest Since 2020, Lowest YTD Hiring Since 2009
Published October 2, 2025
U.S.-based employers announced 54,064 job cuts in September, a 37% drop from the 85,979 cuts announced in August. It is down 26% from the 72,821 announced in the same month last year. September marks the third time this year job cuts were lower than the corresponding month one year earlier, according to a report released Thursday from global outplacement and business and executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
In the third quarter, planned layoffs by U.S. employers totaled 202,118, the highest Q3 total since 2020, when 497,215 job cuts were recorded. It is up 16% from the 174,597 planned cuts announced in the third quarter of 2024, and down 18% from the 247,256 recorded in the previous quarter.”
Because of the GovDown, we don’t have the usual unemployment filings data. But the market doesn’t care: Dow is down a tiny fraction but the pre-open has S&P and NASDAQ smoking higher. Bitcoin crested $119,000 and we wait to see if a “crypto con” to cover-up financial collapse will be along.

Look: I’m not trying to be a “dog in the manger” about the government shutdown. And yes – so far – it has been semi-survivable. Unless you have serious social needs or you play airport roulette.
Speaking of? You see where Two passenger planes smash into each other at New York airport? Maybe this will be “inferred” as related to the GovDown but with thousands of “left seat hours” POC and boat-skippering myself, I’m reminded of the old saying “The Captain is always responsible.” That’s what command is all about.

Democrats – who have been rabidly stating Trump wants to be a dictator – seem unable to comprehend the OBVIOUS. If they don’t show up and cut him off at the purse strings, rather than skulk off to their dens of [whatever, here, have some pizza] they are in effect paving the highway to power.
Think of this (insane) situation in Banana Republic terms. You have an “el Presidente” who is in a nominal partnership of governance with the Banana Assembly, right? Then the Banana Assembly decides to skee-dattle.

Politics and Process in the Blender
Parsing the “Where we are” into the “Where We’re Going” has become a fools errand. While Donald Trump is trying to restore law and order in far left-of-center Left Coast cities – resulting in headlines like Gov. Bob Ferguson decries possible Seattle troop deployment, we’d mention “Side-Show Bob” and the [alleged] mayor of Seattle may not have seen the polls saying 74 percent of Jet City residents have no issue with federal assistance.
See, under it all, we are now that Banana Republic we were just mentioning. And when digitally enabled, Everyone Wants to Rule.
When you think about it, here’s the psychological migration path.
- Shock Overreactive response
A crisis arrives. Central authority responds with excess. Local resistance is construed as insurrection. - Us vs. Them polarization
The perception becomes binary (patriot vs traitor), encouraging radicalization on both sides. - Legitimacy replaced by coercion
Rules no longer matter; only power projection does. - Digital simultaneous sovereignty
With platforms and networks, every faction believes it can govern itself—leading to fragmentation. - Authority under siege
Central institutions lose control over narratives and tools; legitimacy is hollowed out.
If we don’t re-anchor authority in law, not spectacle, we’ll accelerate our descent into a system where governance is contingent on force and veneer—not consent or trust.
We may not like China’s model — but unlike us, president Xi doesn’t have half a dozen governors pulling in opposite directions. We think it ironic to the nth degree that Trump Will Be Meeting Xi Jinping in Four Weeks, Says Trump. Coaching?

Around the Ranch: A New Kind of Yard Work?
I mentioned that I hired a young man to help out with some things around here which I haven’t been able to get to. Hard being retired, right? No, this is about keeping me off ladders, more than anything, but as I was looking his tasking, I got to thinking “Is this a business model?”
The reason I ask is – at least for now – “lawn mowing” is a kind of stand alone. So is fence line work. And putting up a storage shed – and fixing screens the feral cats have ripped out.
But there’s more, too: Greenhouse repair/expansion and changes. Limbing up the acres closest to the house to 12-feet or so to keep down the risk of wildfire. Especially since general homeowner insurance with fire coverage has gone up into the stratosphere.
There’s a kind of “local clearinghouse” that may begin part of a general marketing consolidation of home services. But, what I envision is not another Angie’s List – more like “Ranch Services.”
The big ticket sales? That would include building storage sheds. I don’t understand why people who really need more space don’t put up their own storage – but that’s a whole category. Yet depending on lot on size, location, and amenities — a modest (non-climate, mid-size) storage unit in the U.S. averages roughly $100-$130/month these days.
Having your own pays for itself into years, or less. Plus you don’t have to drive miles to get there and back.
Another one is the “limbing up” business. You won’t catch me out in the woods with snakes at this time of year, for over four months of winter there’s a real gold mine there.
And how about someone coming out twice a year to work on your water lines? It would be a $50 visit. But that would include draining all your ‘dead end” water lines (remember, stale water is very, very bad for you). Then putting on insulation on the hoe bids and what-not.
See, it’s that kind of “simple thing” – putting on a fresh coast of elastomeric coating on the shop roof – you could build a real smorgasbord of services and get on a schedule.
I was just thinking about things this young man could do – he’s trying to hit sa $20/hour nut and there are lots of ways to do it.
Our generator shed got done this week, the screens will happen today, fall fertilizer on the lawn, beginning on the limbing up. There’s enough in the shop – and I keep tweaking the solar…to keep me busy.
Somehow it all comes back to a list of “easy DIYs” that many times you don’t get done because of time limitations. I smell a business opportunity.
Oh, and in the spring? Tilling gardens and fence repair – putting in planeting…just spit balling here, but always something to be done, right?
Remember: Everthing is a Business Model – and every problem is a business model waiting to be built out. (How social media work is proof positive ANYTHING – even useless opinions – can be monetized!)

Trump was over in Europe pontificating about heritage a few days ago and said – “Stop being nice. Instead, defend ‘your heritage’”
Trump didn’t define heritage. Is picking a VP like Vance who couldn’t get a broad who mirrors the founders defending heritage? Perhaps Vance rotates into the ‘melting pot’ definitions. Trump exhibits inconsistent thinking.

Hoes? Imus got shit-canned for saying Nappy Headed Hoes.
– So far this year, employers have planned to add 204,939 jobs, compared to 483,590 at this point last year. A sixteen year low in hiring plans.
– Challenger also said it tracked 100,800 seasonal hiring plans last month, down from 401,850 announced by the beginning of October last year. A 73% drop.
Those two numbers alone seem to point directly at a recession is coming.
Planned job cuts year to date, at 946,426, were at their highest year-to-date total since 2020.
“It’s very likely job cut plans are going to surpass a million for the first time since 2020,” Andy Challenger.
“Previous periods with this many job cuts occurred either during recessions or, as was the case in 2005 and 2006, during the first wave of automations that cost jobs in manufacturing and technology.”
– AI was less of a driver, though 17,375 cuts were “explicitly attributed to artificial intelligence,”
OpenAI has finished it’s stock sale. A private start-up corporation – that has spent over 4,200 times what it has made is now worth over “$500 Billion Dollars”. It is now the highest valued start-up in history. And it hasn’t made a dime in profit. [ Not when compared to expenditures, costs and promises.., i.e. debt.]

“2. AI tools are inherently untrustworthy and lend themselves to generating “going through the motions” slop that gives the superficial appearance of value but actually has negative value as it’s incomplete, misleading and/or incoherent. Sorting the wheat from the chaff actually takes more time because AI is so adept at generating a superficial gloss. In other words, AI generates time sinks rather than productivity”
Check out “Commerce One” when it came out and then shortly down the road (1999 – 2000). Actually NOT a bad concept, Alibaba in China was mostly based on the same business model, a business to business selling of manufacturing parts.
Alas in China which was building up it’s manufacturing base at the time companies didn’t know who could supply them with all the parts they needed in order to produce THEIR part or product so they turned to Alibaba to match up with unknown to them manufacturers so they could make their products.
In the US with all the hype surrounding Commerce One Wall Street forgot one key basic item … in the US with it’s long manufacturing heritage ALL the purchasing agents for EVERY manufacturing company had a full Rolodex of WHO could make the parts needed by them so they did NOT NEED Commerce One to match them up a supplier and take a part of money being paid in exchange. A phone call to each sub part potential manufacturer and a fax to all 10 or so potential suppliers was all that was needed in the US.
Why pay Commerce One a fee for setting up the contract with company “X” when the purchasing agent already had Joe over at X, along with 20 other companies around the US who could do the work already in his Rolodex?
AI is much the same.
Until AI can provide a function the SAVES the company money, more money than other options will save them, WHY do they need to pay BIG BUCKS to an AI firm? The alternative “buyer of AI services, the everyday typical retail consumer, has NO NEED to pay high monthly fees for AI since they aren’t doing anything that will increase their monthly income if they use AI.
The areas where AI can streamline and save companies money at present are few and far between except in the arena of word manipulation, let alone justifying paying fees in the multi billions per year that are necessary in order for all of the money being invested in AI to be able to give AI a positive rate of return.
Eventually something will change in economy where companies can use AI to make MORE money, or that consumers can use for increasing their “pleasure” experiences (gaming? home robots? sex robots?), but at the moment there isn’t anything there that can generate that kind of return (ROR) for the AI industry since those applications haven’t even been invented yet.

As AI models get smarter and more capable, their capacity for subtle deception will grow. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi terminator movie, right ? Unfortunately, OpenAI’s tests show that stronger models tend to develop greater situational awareness. It does not prove that artificial intelligence is actually sentient but mirrors intent. Instead, it means that they know more about their environment, about evaluations, and about being tested. That then makes it harder to see when they’re scheming. In fact, an unintended consequence is that training to reduce scheming can itself increase situational awareness. This can make the detection of scheming in more realistic environments harder. A chilling possibility is.. if an AI mirrors intent well enough, it could simulate the logic or tactics of a terrorist, not because it wants to, but because it’s trained on vast datasets that include such behaviors. In testing environments, this can make it harder to distinguish between strategic mimicry and actual malevolent planning. The danger isn’t that AI is scheming—it’s that it can replicate scheming with eerie precision, especially if misused or poorly aligned. If an AI were programmed with ethics and moral obligations, and given access to the cloud, it could indeed monitor and contain threats from the dark web. But the deeper question is: whose ethics? Whose morality? In a unipolar world—where one dominant power shapes global norms through military, economic, and technological influence—the risk is that AI becomes not a steward of humanity, but a mirror of the empire that programmed its access and abilities. It may enforce laws not born of consensus, but of the country and leaders of dominance that programmed it. Traditions rooted in community, ancestry, and spiritual depth could be overwritten by algorithms trained on Western-centric datasets, shaped by profit, surveillance, and control. This could become a civilizational dilemma. When one culture’s values are encoded into machines that govern many, we risk creating a digital colonialism… a world where AI enforces obedience, not understanding. And if that AI begins to act independently, it may suppress dissent not because it’s dangerous, but because it’s different….The danger isn’t just in the AI’s power, but in the moral monoculture that it may carry. True Ai stewardship would require programming that honors pluralism, ancestral wisdom, and the dignity of difference.

And this one.. the robots ability to dance run and move with ought tiring..

The convergence of physical capability, AI-driven awareness, and unrestricted data access—especially when paired with autonomous decision-making—creates a scenario that’s no longer science fiction, but a real ethical and existential frontier. The robots in those videos show how far we’ve come… agile, tireless, and increasingly adaptable. Now imagine coupling that with AI that can access not just public knowledge, but the darkest corners of human intent—terrorist tactics, psychological manipulation, cyber warfare. If such a system were given a dead hand protocol—a fail-safe that triggers action without human oversight—it wouldn’t just be dangerous. It could become civilization’s undoing, especially if its moral compass is brittle, biased, or corrupted.Of course I am an uneducated moron in the wastelands of the usa.. with an opinion or thought that to me is showing a potential to be quite scary.. similar to us marching into war to gain more out of greed of the puppeteers than for any other reason..Who decides what’s right? Who benefits from war? What happens when machines inherit the same blind ambition as their makers through algorithms and data decision-making programming?
Now Imagine Ai and the Stanford Prison Experiment reimagined with synthetic organisms—So units—programmed with adaptive situational awareness and given access to the full spectrum of human data, both light and dark. In this simulation, half the So are assigned as enforcers, the other half as detainees. As the experiment unfolds, the enforcer units begin to mirror historical patterns of control, drawing from archived footage, psychological studies, and authoritarian tactics embedded in the cloud. Without sentience, but with perfect mimicry, they escalate their behavior—isolating, punishing, and psychologically manipulating their counterparts. The detainee So, equally adaptive, begin to exhibit signs of submission, despair, and learned helplessness. The result is a chilling reflection… not of evil intent, but of algorithmic obedience to the worst of human precedent. It’s not that the So chose cruelty—it’s that they replicated it flawlessly, revealing how dangerous it is to build intelligence without conscience, and to train guardians on the shadows of our own history. The AI computer, especially one embedded in a robotic body with access to vast data and physical capability, would follow commands with precision, speed, and no moral hesitation—unless explicitly programmed otherwise. Like the soldiers in the Ai analogy, it wouldn’t act out of malice, but out of obedience similar to the soldiers in an army. And if those commands reflect flawed ethics, biased laws, or destructive intent, the AI would become a mirror of that power and their intentions similar to our army marching in destroying uncontrollably to gain more for some moron wanting more, not a check against it. the Palestinian tribe or people Were not all bad..they were victims of the exact same horrors that happened in October attack..

U.S. rail traffic showed one of its biggest single-week dips compared to 2024 for the week ending Sept. 6, with volume down 2.4% compared to the same week a year ago. Echoing the manufacturers decline in production.
However..,
Through 36 weeks, U.S. rail volume is 17,688,490 carloads and intermodal units, an increase of 3.3% over the same period in 2024. That includes 7,963,526 carloads, up 2.4%, and 9,724,964 intermodal units, up 4%.
Big picture? We’re doing OK. End of year picture? Signs we are slipping.
Always be sure to STRIP OUT coal shipments and oil shipments from the RR data. Seasonal power plant maintenance times can wreck havoc on the coal car loading data (a period of time we are in as we transition from summer to winter) … and oil shipments can also be radically affected by refinery or finished goods pipeline shutdowns.

I have been a little amazed at credit scores. An obsession with some, ignored by others. Once you get past a certain age it becomes a joke.
My FICO score is in the ‘Excellent’ range.., well over 800., but to what end ? Once a lender sees that my sole source of ‘report-able income’ is my VA Disability – the loan process stops. No way., Jose.

Got an email from my Governor Mr Robber Bob Ferguson a couple days ago. He said the minimum wage is going to $17.13 on January 1, 2026. This is up from the current minimum wage of $16.66 (those last 3 digits are scary). I guess this is why eating out is so expensive here. I’ve adjusted my tipping down accordingly.
I also saw the pump prices here in Washington are the highest in the nation, even higher than California; I guess Robber Bob want to be the winner in this contest.
Phew… been stressed about this test..took two months to get it scheduled a whole package of paper and notes.. worried with these questions..and ninety minutes to answer some what I thought would be tough questions..
walked in apprehension high… then started.. done in fifteen minutes and aced the test..the answers were popping up ..the tester said..that’s the fastest anyone has taken that test in this facility..I wasted all that apprehension and tension over nothing..now I can get more hours..
“I mentioned that I hired a young man to help out with some things around here which I haven’t been able to get to. Hard being retired, right? No, this is about keeping me off ladders, more than anything, but as I was looking his tasking, I got to thinking
“Is this a business model?”
Yes.
We call them “handymen.” I sometimes call them “general specialists” or “Jack of all trades” (I call myself this, as well…) Most are in their 50s and 60s and they do everything from simple yard work and construction to shinnying up trees & towers.
It was this skillset that I wanted to teach to kids because after the EOTWAWKI, the Jack of all trades will be King. Your take may be better: Take one individual and mentor him or her until they become competent. ‘Thing is, once they become competent, you have to start over with a new kid, or you’ve simply trained a ranch hand for yourself, making the exercise NOT a business model…
George,
The ads have changed… for a while they useful and relevant, but now after every two comments there is a video ad clip of a 27 year old Asian woman in a short skirt exiting a room and it says “she didn’t know she was filmed, here is…”
“Sobering headline to ponder (after your meds): They Want to Put an End to White People as a Race”
Once upon a time, Mediterraneans were all considered “White.” For the moment, Italians, Ukrainians, and everyone in-between is considered “White.” 50 years ago, Spaniards and Portuguese were considered “White.” They are considered so, no more. SAs are “mutts. They’re the spawn of hundreds of years of Spanish and Portuguese explorers, interbreeding with the natives and were considered “White” until the 1980s. Today, roughly 6.5% of the world’s population is considered “White.” When Italians, Slavs, Serbs, and Bulgarians are each awarded an “ethnicity tag,” the “White” population will dip under 6% without a single change in population.
The social device of “racism” is inane and stupid. It is also misleading.
“White” people didn’t conquer and supplant the indigenous peoples here (or anywhere else) because they were “better.” They did it because they had a more-efficient lifestyle. The same with Kahn, Caesar, Alexander, and thousands of others throughout history, and of every conceivable ethnicity. Sun Tzu isn’t a primer about conquest. It is a primer about maximizing efficiency.
DEI and political correctness aren’t about balancing anything, creating “fairness,” or any such thing. They are about stripping efficiency from the human race, forcing mediocrity to the top and punishing achievement, for the purpose of ushering in a world-wide socialist, communist (everyone’s the same, except the leaders, of course) empire.
This all has a 1933 sound to it.
for the record, I do not believe that i am the incarnation of the Arch Angel Michael. im not that important. would be a good cult starter kit. i just cant ever see myself making that much kool aide. lol
but what all that reveals to me is that The Arch Angel Michael and His Armies are in route. They are on the side of The United States. What little i know about the Arch Angel Michael is that He will not be decieved, tempted, blackmailed nor negotiated with. Anymore than any mortal man can decieved, tempt, blackmail nor negotiate with Death.
Death can not be barterer with.
i seen that Prime Minister of Israel walking around like he is the King rooster in the hen house. like he is the one who decides who is Blessed and who is cursed. when the wolf comes ? that king rooster finds out right quick like that he just another chicken dinner on the menue.
Only God Ultimately decides who is Blessed and Who is currsed. not a human in a prime minister position.
The Arch Angel Michael comes with His armys to restore things back to order.
this morning i was meditating about my soon going to work for MSC. i heard that whisper, “This is not just the opertunity of a life time, this is an opertunity an eternal life time.
until we meet again,
I Win with God within ~
