DDT (Data Dense Thursday), Experts Ponder July, Dalio Beyond

Tasks and timing to kick off the day. With the unspoken hope that orderly thinking will lead to orderly profits.

GDP

Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 1.4 percent in the first quarter of 2024, according to the “third” estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the fourth quarter of 2023, real GDP increased 3.4 percent.

The GDP estimate released today is based on more complete source data than were available for the “second” estimate issued last month.  In the second estimate, the increase in real GDP was 1.3 percent. The upward revision primarily reflected a downward revision to imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, and upward revisions to nonresidential fixed investment and government spending. These revisions were partly offset by a downward revision to consumer spending (refer to “Updates to GDP”).

Corporate Profits

Real gross domestic income (GDI) increased 1.3 percent in the first quarter, a downward revision of 0.2 percentage point from the previous estimate. The average of real GDP and real GDI, a supplemental measure of U.S. economic activity that equally weights GDP and GDI, increased 1.4 percent in the first quarter, the same as the previous estimate.

Profits from current production (corporate profits with inventory valuation and capital consumption adjustments) decreased $47.1 billion in the first quarter, a downward revision of $26.0 billion from the previous estimate.

Profits of domestic financial corporations increased $65.0 billion in the first quarter, a downward revision of $8.7 billion from the previous estimate.

Profits of domestic nonfinancial corporations decreased $114.5 billion, a downward revision of $0.3 billion.

Rest-of-the-world profits increased $2.3 billion, a downward revision of $17.0 billion. In the first quarter, receipts increased $25.7 billion, and payments increased $23.4 billion.

International Trade

Advance International Trade in Goods
The international trade deficit was $100.6 billion in May, up $2.7 billion from $98.0 billion in April. Exports of goods for May were $166.7 billion, $4.6 billion less than April exports. Imports of goods for May were $267.3 billion, $2.0 billion less than April imports.

Wholesale Inventories

“Wholesale inventories for May, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading day differences, but not for price changes, were estimated at an end-of-month level of $901.6 billion, up 0.6 percent (±0.2 percent) from April 2024, and were down 0.5 percent (±0.7 percent)* from May 2023. The March 2024 to April 2024 percentage change was revised from up 0.1 percent (±0.4 percent)* to up 0.2 percent (±0.4 percent)*.

As of the early check (5 AM) Futures pricing was calling a market like this – after hitting another new all-time high in our Aggregated Index.  46717.70 which was about six points higher than the Juneteenth holiday brought in.

We will likely exit a short position with our “burgers and beer” fund. Because with a holiday ahead (markets will be closed on the 4th) there’s no telling when “holiday madness” will settle over the herd again.

A Debate Cheat Sheet

Who us?  Miss an opportunity to hear more from a Felon Father and a Philanderer? (Not exactly “Greatest Country on Earth” leadership, is it?)  Viewers fear CNN will use new microphones to ‘mute Trump’ and ‘rig’ tonight’s debate to help Biden. We’re so old… (“How old is that, George?) “We’re so old we remember when CNN was a news operation…”

Here’s our plan for tonight.

Tell me you don’t really need advice like Biden and Trump go head to head: How to watch the first general election presidential debate. Be sure to be watching for CNN puffery when independent media – which is planning to stream the debate – is sued by CNN for “copyright infringement” – because there’s a bum’s rush to silence non-corporate-controlled media underway just out of the public limelight.

Do we need to mention the weaponization of intelligence agencies ahead of tonight’s debate? “It Needs to Get Out As Soon As Possible” – New FOIA Emails Reveal CIA Panicking as They Rushed Approval of Hunter Laptop Letter.

On the lighter/but sadder side of media: Daily Caller on X: “Tucker Utterly Stumps Reporter By Simply Asking For A Citation. This while Tucker was in Oztralia.  With the liberal mindset running rampant worldwide, we have about zero faith in a “clean” debate tonight.  (Wine?)

May seem a little cynical of us, but when you are sneaking up on 80, the careful planning of everything – right down to TV and having a map to the bathroom – will begin to make sense.

Since we have seen what both did in office, this whole debate may be fairly cast as a Rerun – we saw the series when it was on originally. Now they’ll be trying to rewrite history for people too lazy to notice 14 percent of Mexico is now here thanks to open borders. And we’re on the verge of nukes in Ukraine.  We already know who the geniuses were behind those.  (44, 46).

Experts Pondering July

Peoplenomics Wednesday has an interesting read on whether the coming World War could include a display of “Wunder Weapons.” Which has proven interesting because of the experts (Dick Algire, RV expert group, Clif High’s linguistics, plus a handful of psychics – and let’s not forget reader Andy…) all have jitters about how next month rolls out.

Interestingly timed with our Wunder Weapons report, here some US tests ‘top secret’ weapons against Russia: It will bear all the burden in a conflict, report says – Europe has no hope… The US undersea drone (Manta Ray) is highlighted.

We don’t place particular odds, but so far, the Possible Big Event lists include:

  • CivWar lite (Trump sentencing fallout)
  • A major (undeniable UFO) sighting
  • And a market disrupting Pacific Northwest Earthquake. 9+

Sure, when “seers” of any stripe mention UFOs and such, it gets all kinds of cross-postings going. But earthquakes are kind of “old hat” stuff.  I don’t think one of our experts would mind us sharing this – because the Pacific Northwest is “overdue.”

“So, if it is to be a big earthquake (big as in Magnitude 9 or so, with tsunamis, and, and, and), it will likely hit the  coastal Pacific northwest, rather than Cali We’ve got nukes stored there, nuke carrying nuclear subs operating out of there, troops (I Corps, much of two divisions (2nd and 7th), Rangers, etc.) and such at Joint Base Lewis McCord (JBLM). Several major cities, well known to George. Could a big enough quake knock Rainier back to life? Maybe.

Huge economic impacts? Well, Microsoft is up there. Amazon, Costco, T-Mobile, Starbucks. Those 5 companies alone have a market cap of just over 6 trillion, as of Wednesday. And there are still some parts of Boeing there, and a whole bunch of not small companies, some of which you may have heard of. (Google keeps Kaggle, its big data folks, right there in Seattle, for instance.) Bottom line would be that it would be a MAJOR hit to the US and arguably global economy were those corporate HQs and complexes to be turned into gooey piles of rubble and salty mud. Not to mention the capital of the state (down there past Tacoma in the southern end of Puget Sound, where the tsunamis will really pile up). Potential casualties? No idea. Lots.”

The real question – and maybe Clif will address it in an upcoming substack rap – is what size a potential quake would have to be in order to set off the linguistic “ringing effects” he’s reported in his data out through the end of the year.

See, a small Big Quake (say a 6.4 to 7.5) would be talked about for a good while, of course.  But there’s a boundary above which the chatter keeps on rolling and rolling…  Folks still talk about Fukushima and the San Francisco quake of April 18, 1906.  Even served as the backdrop for one of the late Clive Cussler’s Isaac Bell adventure novels, too.  That’s how really Big quakes roll from dinner table discussions to whole sections in libraries…

Regardless of what’s coming in July don’t overlook G.A. Stewart’s Nostradamus work.  We have a possible “King of Terrors” in July and a possible mass casualty event around Olympics time (26th) in Paris.

This is not to dismiss the possibility of a huge – undeniable – UFO mass sighting ahead next month,  In fact, this History Channel video has good background The Proof Is Out There: TOP 10 UFO SIGHTINGS OF 2023. Google shows a spike peak in UFO search last year in the mid to late July period in their Trends work. Repeat due?

Still, the bottom line?  If you have quake preps – lots of water and backup comes and a “retrograde plan” (the new mil-speak for “retreat”) you ought to be in pretty good shape.

  1. A major (undeniable UFO) sighting:

    Clif… seriously?

Yes, this has been in my books and on my website since 2007.

    http://main.theageofdesolation.com/GA-STEWART-NOSTRADAMUS-RARE-BIRDS-2024.html

    Nostradamus Epistle: Paragraph 55:4
Before these events many rare birds will cry in the air. Now, now, and sometime later vanish.

There is no shame in this blogging racket. That’s why I see it as pointless.

    • The referenced material is way, way beyond my mental and educational level to understand. I am lost in it: drowning in it: in an attempt to grok it.

      I feel drooling stupid…

    • Hi Stu. Similar to your thinking but timing is different –
      1) The “snatching away”, (Rapture of the believers).
      2) Extraterrestrials are blamed as the bad guys who schemed this.
      3) Nuclear exchange at some level.
      4) Another group of extraterrestrials, (I believe these are all inter-dimensional beings), appear to save humanity post-nukes.
      5) They’re welcomed as the “good guys” But are actually part of the “bad guys”, (demons who will assist in the rise of the Antichrist).
      6) From here everything goes downhill as humanity is enslaved , tortured and put to death in a totalitarian state,
eventually leading to the Antichrist being the global leader.
      7) Global separatists wage never-ending wars and violence against A.C. and amongst other separatists.
      8) This culminates in the planet being saved from self-destruction by Jesus Christ with his army, (the “good guys” – angelic beings – thought to be the “bad guys” in Line 1 plus the people they saved).
      Just my interpretation.
Either way debates, economies, puff-news stories and the like mean nothing. The future is set everyone will play their role.
I pray I can be one of the good guys……

      • (“Extraterrestrials are blamed as the bad guys who schemed this.”)

        or….
are they the good guys that will step in and stop the madness of humans destructive ways..
this is a really nice planet..not to many close by …since its survival is obviously necessary to promote life.. extinction of the biggest threat is most obviously the best action.

what has seamed to be a pattern is mankinds desire for power brings on evil deeds.. history plays over and over the same pattern.. in …ALL … religious texts the words of Christ can be seen.. DO UNTO OTHERS…Christ shared these in stories in an effort to teach.. mankind’s free will has perverted the real messages of the heavenly host..
man has put his own interpretations on the Devine teaching.. putting in place their own personal perversions meant to further their ideals and goals..that’s why there are 26 different interpretations of the Qur’an which is an interpretation of the original scriptures.. there’s over 45 thousand Christian sects and over 45 thousand Latin sects.. I always questioned religion .. until I read the lost scriptures of Adam in the dead sea scrolls..the message was clear. today I reflect on the repeating message do unto others..
the path of Christ his repeating message.. it isn’t the deal that man has interjected but the basic. of course that’s my interpretation as well..each person has to dig in their own hearts to find what is important.. I found mine..oh on the ..DUDE..

    • What if it’s happened before? I’ve pondered this for a lifetime – if the future is really a universe of choices, then not one person, no matter how diligent, how well-intentioned can see the path not yet chosen. We can only look back.

I’ve had supposedly prescient dreams but in the cold light of day they amount to nothing. We know that genetic memories can be passed down through the generations. Perhaps we are re-living our past. The traumas of the past are living in our DNA and may be expressed as dreams or prophetic visions when there is an active trigger. I no longer worry about the future or try to divine the path forward. From the Stoic philosophers:

“The Stoics say that he who suffers before it is necessary, suffers more than is necessary. The idea that you should wake up every day in miserable anticipation of a thing that may or may not happen is to punish yourself on top of whatever the pain that will come from that thing actually happening,” (Ryan Holiday)

    • Yeah, and I worry about such ‘studies’ being paid disinfo for the medical ‘business’. I have taken a baby aspirin daily for more than 40 years. The last two major medical interventions I have had, the medics made me stop the aspirin in advance of surgeries. The result has been clotting problems with my IV and other areas. I will keep taking my aspirin, thank you.

    • A week ago, my wife (78) hada hemorrhagic stroke. First thing they did was take her off 81 mg aspirin. Life in our home has changed dramatically now. Sometimes we learn things too late huh?

      • I’m so sorry, Bob.

The aspirin regimen is a good thing, but not for everyone, or in all cases. I hope she recovers soon.

        • Thanks Ray. This is going to be a long and difficult journey.

I realize there is a lot of differing medical opinions on ASA. I still take one 81 mg a day and have now for 17 years since having 3 stents put in my heart. My cardiologist, neurologist and GP strongly recommend I continue. After reading a dozen current medical journals on the subject, I will continue.

For my wife, it was probably the wrong decision but each of us have a different health profile. We rely on our doctors for good advice but like George, I study the pro and cons before I make my own decision. I like being in control of my own health.

I hope this experience helps others on this site. Despite all your planning, life can change in an instant.

      • My heart goes out to you both..
my wife has had a few.. I do know what the challenges are that you will face. I have feared a long time a major one would happen..
having worked the wings do ask if there is anything that I can help with..
the best advice I can give is ..be patient.. sometimes there’s personality changes besides the physical … patience and gentleness loving care..
where I fail is even though I know better I have a tendency to finish my wife’s comments or thoughts as she’s searching for the correct words..
god bless my friend..may his healing touch reach down to you both..

    “UFOs”

  3. Were Bram Stoker writing today, Dracula might conceivably be a politician, sucking up votes by night instead of blood. Yes – the vote vampire, doing anything to drink in precious votes. But unlike Dracula, vote vampires are not destroyed by the light (of truth). Instead of the political undead turning to dust, they rise again to campaign and debate another day, their minions falling in blindly behind them to serve the vote vampire’s vain agenda – eternal power. I honestly cannot think of one politician who doesn’t fit this satirical model, selling their souls to win an election.

    • WH- That’s something we can agree on. And once all the politicians have souled out, they compete to see who can be most deceptive and evil, while blaming the opposition.

  4. Wait a minute. There’s this longstanding knowledge out there that XRP mkt cap will flippen even that of BTC given the XRP burn rate. Everyone forgets about that, Gen Slur and the banking incumbents haven’t. Watch for BoA the leg up to the likes of BlackRock, Fleet, and Mellon. (Oxford comma for emphasis). Lol.

Perhaps the Bank of America saw the advantage in settling transactions for .000001 XRP burned per token . You see, with XRP being priced at 1/2 an FRN. XRP needs to be much higher in price or risk 1/2 the supply of XRP being burned in less than 5 years .

Standby….. You home gamers can work the rest out. Makes for a fun regression analysis start with SWIFT nostro/vostro (trillions of stranded capital will be returned to banking liquidity using XRPs on demand liquidity), the ISDA (100 quadrillion notional value there, the €¥£$ CBDC’’s.Start with RLUSD (the Fed CBDC) and a price fixed/XRP. My coffee crop this year is not as prolific as last year. El Nino and the lack of rain reduced our crop but I will still get enough for ourselves and some for our gardener which is what I want and yes our coffee is excellent. I must say that life here in Costa Rica is very nice living on social insecurity. The Quality Of Life is Excellent!

    • I must say the same about rural Big Island… and still in the US. Plenty of coffee growing up the road. And I’ve got chocolate in the back yard!

  7. “We don’t place particular odds, but so far, the Possible Big Event lists include a major (undeniable UFO) sighting.”

G.A. STEWART: A global UFO sighting prior to nuclear war will fulfill the myth of the gods going to war with humanity. In my interpretation of Nostradamus’ prophecies and Islamic Hadith, I see the potential for three nuclear terrorist acts aimed at the three Capitals of the Abrahamic Religions, Jerusalem, Rome, and Mecca.

These will be committed by Nostradamus’ Pagan Sect of New Infidels and his Third Antichrist, probably during the course of a conventional war in the Middle East.

I have two questions. The first is, will the Extraterrestrial warning come before the detonation of these first three nuclear weapons, or will it come just before global nuclear war? I examine that question in Nostradamus and the Third Age of Mars, Volume II. My second question is, how many minutes do you get on the clock after a global UFO sighting puts most people in the world into a state of panic with visions of the movie Independence Day flashing through their minds?

        3) Barry-O will be “grandfathered in as his replacement and defeat whoever the GOP throws out there.

  9. Nothing is really going to change all that much. We will have the same people in the Senate., and the House.., same bought and paid for media., the same weaponized three letter agencies., the same over-lord mega-corporations., the same federal judges., what, actually, is going to change? Policy on gay rights in the military? Yeah., that’s gonna help.
There is one area that I think ‘will’ change if Trump is reelected., and it will be different than the last four years have been under Biden. We will see a lot more mass violence. New BLM styled groups will form across the country, backed once again by dark-money., anti-Trump money.
As far as I can determine the only thing that is going to stop it from happening., the only thing that will force a real change – is a deep, long lasting depression., and that will be a huge cost, the first Winter will take the lives of millions. I am not talking about some namby-pamby recession [ noticed how “soft landing”., “hard landing” ., “recession” – has virtually disappeared from the media-talk lately? – pretty good sign that something is about to happen ].., I’m talking about a full-on., in your face, shelves are empty, fuel-of any kind, is unavailable, prescriptions meds vanish, armed gangs wandering the streets looking for targets, cities in riots for food.., deep depression. That will not only change the game., but also change the rules.
There is also the distinct possibility of WW3 dropping by with a nasty wake-up call. But if that happens, you won’t give a damn who is president. You’re gonna be a little busy surviving to care about ballot box stuffing, politics., or how to get your money out of bitcoin. [ Got blockchain, hell – got lead? ]
Scenarios abound., don’t they? One from column A, and one from column B. The problem lies in the fact that every one of the “future scenarios” really suck.
“You can’t build a different world with so many indifferent people.”

The #’s are higher now, as every child born of a Mexican Mother is still a Mexican citizen and becomes a dual American citizen at birth with rights to freely pass back and forth across the border to visit family.

    Way past 25%.

everyone guessing about Trump’s VP pick, but I see no one picking Gen Flynn,,, the deep state would not assassinate Trump for fear of Flynn becoming Pres,,,

remember the deep state removed Agnew before going after Nixon,,, then we got the warren commission Ford

that is IF they don’t start WW3 and delay/postpone the election cycle,,, Ukraine did and the current government sent them billions upon billions,, birds of a feather, steal together
    maybe another plandemic?

that was nice of @c to give us the notice to read Slay News,,, thank you c

    • (“planned sacrifice?
ole slo demented joe, shows his disease, creates an opening to replace him @convention Aug 19 and make Trump look bad for attacking him.”)

      that is interesting ..
my curiosity is..If Joe is a planned sacrificial lamb…with the mountain of evidence that they have obtained on the brother and son..
will they be made examples to prove that our system is still working???? or will they make the three blind mice the scape goats.. with as many whistle blowers as they have its pretty obvious they have lost the respect of their own staff..

  12. As a west coaster who has plenty to lose my choice would be a undeniable mass ufo sighting. I would love to see all the deniers having crow for dinner. Think of all the questions such a sighting would answer.
The damage a 1000 ft tsunami rolling in to LA would be astronomical, reaching all the way to Palm Springs no doubt.
The nuke thing can’t happen cause well it won’t stop at just one, its a game changer, as in game over.

  13. “ We’re so old we remember when CNN was a news operation…”

Will I be the only one NOT listening to >the babble of two faltering GREEDY semi-idiots?< I'd be much more competent to run this society!! However, it would call for a major restructuring of most people's (if one may call it?) thinking.
No matter who will be POTUS. it will be going to the 'Bitter End' because not of who will be elected, but of those going to vote ;-((.
WHOPPY for president, that would be peoples real choice, if they'd had one. ;-( End of rant.
(The lead dame from the View, triple disgusting!!!)

    • Politicians need to tell the public what they need to hear, and NOT what they want to hear ;-); Therefore, it’s not possible to make the right decisions to lead this or any other country under so called democracy.
100 years ago the German ‘Weimar Republic’ was an excellent example that democracy leads one way only, destruction of society, JMHO ;-((.

      • That is why a democratic Republic is better. And what aren’t only property owners – people who have all the skin in on spending – the only ones to vote? Isn’t that a defacto violation of equal protection?

  14. WTF are we doing in Ukraine one wonders ?

Well at least we now know what we were doing in Trashganastan besides killing towelheads – Knew all along but many – especially those serving – were in deep denial of WTF they were doing over there..besides killing muzzies –

  15. At my local – favorite gas station regular gasoline has slowly dropped over the past couple of weeks to $4.18 a gallon.., ethanol free has slowly climbed to $4.99 a gallon.
Washington state has the second highest gas-tax in the country – right behind California.
Why regular gas is slowly dropping here in tourist-town during the Summer driving months., I can not say.
Luckily, we do not drive that much.

  16. George, nice try with the Dalio piece. He is right on the thrust of things between the haves and have nots. However his blame is typical for a Financial elite. Mal investment instead of investment in productivity enhancing technology and skills.
What he, and you, seem to miss is that there are whole lots of other factors that hav to do with shortages and inflation like resource depletion, rapacious finacial policies on the part of the haves, the rest of the world realizing that Pax Americana meant them taking it up the butt, etc etc.
We are in a poly crisis, not just a financial crisis. Trump riding the tiger of populist anger will be surprised at all the other crap hitting his head. So it goes.
Perhaps someday you will too see that the poly crisis goes way beyond the financial collapse and is eating the formerlly middle class to death. It is always fun to posit nuclear war or UFOs as a way out of this mess. But rather, I fear it will be a continuous ride down the golden escalator until we find that our local communities will either be our salvation or our punishment.
I suspect Dalio will find no supportive community in the New York suburbs. You seem to be discovering the value of neighbors who can do things. But the complex systems of health care, communications and food will be fracturing. Hopefully our gardens will feed us. But the nice meds that make life easy will go away., as will the appliances and the air flights to exotic locations.
I am glad to see you are getting it on building community. That will be core of a local economy. Taking Dalio’s analysis one step further, the coming civil war will guarantee that the complex system on which we all depend, are about to collapse.

  17. Mayonnaise
    2 eggs (room temperature)
    1 tbsp. lemon juice
    1 tbsp mustard
    1 tsp salt
2 cups of oil.. ( you choose I like olive )
2 tbs natural yogurt ( fermentation for long term storage)
start by putting all the ingredients except the oil at the bottom of the blender )
start whipping it as you drizzle the oil in to the mix..
the oil and ingredients will whip up.. you can make it thicker by using just egg jokes or reduction of the oil a little bit..
on e whipped place all the ingredients in the jar then let it sit on the counter to ferment for up to seven or eight hours.
the fermentation process will extend the life of your home made mayo for up to several months..
taste it add what spices you want..for the equivalent of miracle whip add 1 tbsp. sugar.. your choice you control your own taste buds…
