Yesrteday Diana received her Prime Day shopping and in the haul were 20 solar yard accent lights. They look like little Japanese lanterns, or at least little plastic ones anyway. Being the loving husband of the most beautiful woman alive I placed them “EXACTLY” where she wanted them along the walkway by a flower bed. I mentioned to her that it may look like landing lights when it gets dark and there is a small airstrip 4 miles down the road crop dusters use. I was out of her reach so I didn’t get slugged but I did get that look.
Later she came up to the hoopty and asked me to back the mower out of the shop so she could mow the lawn behind the house. Cool, one less chore for me today. Around dinner time I decided to take off till later in the evening since the temp hit 111 deg in the hoops. I noticed she had left the mower sitting outside the shop and I asked her if she was finished mowing. I got an icy “Yes.” You OK? It’s pretty hot out did you get overheated? She just stood there with her arms crossed. Uh oh Cowboy, Danger, Danger. She finally said that she had run over them. Run over what? Don’t worry about it, those Peonies will grow back. She said, “Not them, the new lights.” and put her head on my shoulder. Oh, well at least we won’t have to worry about any crop dusters mistaking them for runway lights. Dodged that one.

now that Crowley icy ball that dans using was once mine.. what is strange is ..I drained it for shipping and flushed it with water.. the fact that he still gets it down to half the ambient temperature is amazing..I got rid of it because the wife wanted to park in the garage..silly girl..since I already knew how it worked it was nothing..easy to recreate..
then use a section of off pipe and A computer fan..similar to the one on the generator box.. solar and let the fan cool off the coil before expansion..easier than the ice cream water bucket..

You’d never regret that sailboat as long as you love being wet, slightly uncomfortable most of the time, and living every day filled with uncertainty.
Other than that, floating is mostly heaven and you are free to go pretty much wherever you have the cajones to set off for.

I’ve done a lot of off-shore racing and cruising., and a few long-range single-handed cruises [ San Fran to Hawaii and back – San Fran to Japan and back ].., just have never “owned” one.
– I have sat in the middle of the Pacific on a dead calm night., with the ocean of black ink rolling gently under the keel – not a sound.., not a person within hundreds of miles., sitting back in the cockpit – staring at the stars. I never knew there were that many. It was a moment I will never forget – and I hope to do it – one more time.
dLynn : though I am hard pressed to think of how you feel “conned” it doesn’t negate my inclination to say go for it (on the sailboat). I have never owned a boat I regretted. Ever. Many favorites were on bareboat charter (wanting to own in the fleet but preferring to “rent” for a week to ten days). Sailing is majestic.

4th of July Regatta : total bust. My race boat is good to go but the stik isn’t even up on my E Scow. She’s on the lift out front with 32′ of mast lying on the deck. Cue discussion about trailer winches and come-a-longs. Maybe at Workshop Sunday? Anyway, the MC Scow could have gone racing but Wind Gods didn’t smile. Race Day #1 no wind. Race Days #2-3 it was a choice of Grandling -or- racing. Kid won.
I have 2-3 large stars and bars flags. One flew at a Burger King. Our BD Regional once shared space with a fast food conglomerate, I had a meeting with a Sr. VP and shazam, he retired a 12×18′ and gave it to me. I also have a 6×10′ and meant to fly it from my 28′ race boat mast but … see GrandChild. I did buy (3) Letter Signal flags U-S-A and set them on a 10′ piece of PVC on the pontoon. They are way nice. I’m leaving them.
