The Great Technique Race Continues

Friday we saw exactly what we anticipated — a “split decision” in the markets. One model suggests we may have a bit more upside compression ahead, possibly even one final squeeze before a larger turn. Another clock is ticking toward a potential unwind. The key right now isn’t prediction — it’s instrumentation. When markets compress, they tend to expand. The question is direction and timing, and this is one of those weeks where paying attention matters more than being certain.

At the same time, we’re watching another kind of compression — in weather patterns. Low snowpack reports across the West and early burn activity here in Texas are raising quiet questions about drought risk heading into spring. None of this guarantees trouble, but taken together, these signals nudge probabilities. Markets, climate, and policy cycles all tend to move in waves. The disciplined approach is the same in each case: recognize patterns early and reduce exposure to surprise.

Preparation beats prediction. Whether it’s managing portfolio risk or installing a swamp cooler ahead of a hotter-than-usual season, the goal is simple: measure, adapt, and stay ahead of the curve. The future rarely announces itself loudly at first — it whispers. The job is to hear it before it starts shouting.

  1. on ZeroHedge being from Omaha I actually never thought this story would see the light of day ever again……..Is it time to Reopen the Franklin child prostitution case after Epstein revelations………. Some real sick shit …….

  2. What if? Harlem started as a nice neighborhood. Then moved down with less income. Finally bottomed with poor and crime? Epstein island started well. Tried to he British with island and handshake agreements went down with messuage.
Republicans legal like two or three witnesses. Democrats like suspicion and one witness. Hollywood went south after 20 years of young ladies working their way up the ladder. Las Vegas did much the same. Only person saying wrong is a guilt person who thought their ‘agreement’ as broken. Wars generally include ‘issues’ with locals from soldiers with feelings. With lack of any moral compass society is a war zone. You can police small things in small segment but trump finds policing big things in a majority democratic cities (like crime and immigration) impossible as moral compass is different, in nyc. Police on every corner stopped crime. Locals said rather have crime than all-blacks frisked on every block. Legal precedents slowly track-movement of civics. Trumps tariff’s are two fast

    • They may be too fast but two things are driving. As a devleoper he knows the cost of money and our $39 tril national debtr keeps compounding tariffs or no. Hard to talk-back a looming bankruptcy. The other is hes at wjhat6 1063 days in office to go – after that the crap’s up for grabs. I hear what you’re saving – saw the same slow motion democgraphic and income waves in wash up Seattle – but now – if we make it trhat far, 28 is going to be a nightmare meets train wreck with Vance being roo low-key and not playing the “learning understory role” well. So it seems out here

      • GU : most of the people I know who aren’t Vance (uhm, and Rubio) fan boys haven’t listened to them. This requires a 15-30 minute chance to express what is vs. a cameo. OH guy. This is the way ___E____

  3. George,
    Re: liberation day 1.1

Bad Timing: Liberation Day 1.1 (LD 1.1)will start on 12:01 EST 24 Feb 2026. Liberation Day 1.0 (LD 1.0) started on 2 April 2025.

    LD 1.0 occurred on day 240 of a 27 Oct 2023 120/240 of 243 1st and 2nd fractal series with nonlinear lower lows on days 241 and 242 and a final low on 7 April 2025. This occurred during the last 4 days of a 19 Feb 2025 5/13/12/7 day :: x/2.5x/2-2.5x/1.5x 4 phase decay fractal series after a 27 Oct 2023 to 19 Feb 2025 3 phase: 55/139/135 day :: x/2.5x/2.5x(near) maximal peak growth.

LD 1.1 will start on (Wednesday 24 Feb 2026) day 47 of a 20 Nov 2025 19/48 day :: x/2.5x 1st and 2nd fractal series and a 11 Feb 2026 2/5/4/3 day 4 phase fractal decay series. True, True, and unrelated (to the timing of the initiation of the new tariff) 2nd fractal nonlinearity (in equities, crypto, and precious metals) will again occur with LD 1.1.

    • What is really cool – which is why chartpack ran 37 pages today on PN lol – is how gracefully your numbers and mine conferge at var9ious points. Under my “higher Monday” that’s when the WOMITR (wise old men in the room – which may include d’Lynn and Egor) may oad up on the short side realizing that something – either market internal dynamics of Tehran – will end the rally and the real downside of Wave 5 of a much larger 1 down gets underway. Thank you – your work and mine are complimentary as I was getting in (though it might have been buried in chart notes)) – g

I followed the uber-wise ‘Longwaves Email Group’ since its inception …Besides you, how many of the venerable wise old-timers are still around? In plain English, short version:This text is a warning from someone who follows fractal patterns in markets (repeating time-based shapes in price charts, inspired by chaos theory and observers like Gary Lammert / Economic Fractalist).”Liberation Day” = Trump’s major tariff announcements / implementations (called “Liberation Day” by him):LD 1.0 happened on April 2, 2025 (first big tariff rollout).
LD 1.1 = next round / escalation starts February 24, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. EST (new 10% tariffs ordered after a Supreme Court thing).

The author says the timing is bad because markets are already set up (based on their fractal math) for a sharp, nonlinear drop right around then.”2nd fractal nonlinearity” = In their system, the second repeating pattern (the “2nd fractal”) in a series often ends with a sudden, violent, nonlinear crash or lower low — like a surprise steep drop that doesn’t follow smooth trends. They claim this exact nasty ending pattern happened around LD 1.0 (causing big drops in stocks, crypto, gold/silver), it’s unrelated to the tariffs themselves, but will coincidentally hit again exactly when LD 1.1 kicks in.Bottom line: “Tariff news is coming Tuesday, but markets look primed (by fractal cycles) to tank hard anyway — bad luck / bad timing.” It’s niche market timing / crash prediction talk from fractal enthusiasts.”

    • A note on the wildfires – native prairie vegetation, like western forests and chaparral, has evolved to endure burning every so often – in fact it needs to burn to stay healthy. In the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas and Oklahoma, ranchers do controlled burns every few years to keep the grasses healthy.

In the area where fires are happening now, the Red Hills region and adjacent prairie, controlled burns are not practiced. The grass gets overgrown and starts to decline, and the area is choked with red cedar (actually junipers). When it does catch fire an inferno is the result, and if the wind is blowing (like the past few days) it’s very difficult to contain. The same thing happened a few years ago just to the east of the current fires…..the grass later came back in lush and green in spite of being in a drought; the cedars went up like torches. AFAIK no one changed their practices because of what happened.

Mismanagement also played a role in the original dust bowl of the thirties. Native grass withstands drought by sending down roots far deeper than the plant’s height above ground. Farmers plowed that up and planted wheat and corn fence row to fence row. When drought came there was nothing to hold the dirt and it blew.

A repeat of that is less likely now due to improved farming practices (like terraces and summer fallow), but some dirt still blows now and then. Irrigation is much more common now, but may not last at the rate water is being pumped. I remember dirt storms in the sixties that looked like those old photos from the thirties – a wall of airborne dirt moving towards town.

The five-year drought in this area turned around last year, and the lake that supplies our water is now overflowing, but that could change back at any time. There are old photos (taken in the area burning now) showing railroad paths being cut through snowdrifts higher than the train cars. In my lifetime, that hasn’t even come close to happening. In spite of human efforts, it’s “The Dude” that ultimately controls what happens, but paying attention to, and working with, his cycles is the way to go.

feat: a lighter side with Rachael Rae

The President of the Ukraine posted a public video clip update to his social media. The petite, photogenic Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris arrived in Kyiv to collect her Order of St. Olga Third Degree award. The pair communicated awkwardly in English as the President congratulated his guest on the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

The award appears to have been announced by the presidential office on January 22 under Presidential Decree #68/2026. Talk show host Rachel (sic) Rae also appears having been named as a recipient the “Golden Heart” award. Prior to retreating to her home studio in the Adirondacks, Rachael Rae had recorded her cooking show at a studio in Chelsea, New York. The structure had served as an armoury until 1914. That studio hosted its first tv series starting in 1955 with “You’ll Never Get Rich” aka “The Phil Silvers Show” starring M. Sgt. Bilko.

Both Wikipedia pages for the mayor and talk show host received same day award announcement updates by a newer editor, “Firestorm12”. The spelling of month “Januery” in both perhaps pays homage to Ukrainian phonetic pronunciation regarding letters a and e.

    • Speaking of spelling errors, editor Firestorm12 is actually Firestarter12.

Meanwhile Lady Gaga competitor and former PM Justin’s Blue Origin astronaut beau Katy Perry announced a new single scheduled to drop on March 6th: “Watch It Burn”.

“Et tu, Brute?” Unusual sequences of events are manifesting at the King’s Norfolk estate of Sandringham?

Ten days ago the “Daily Mail” reported on a tragic death of a worker from King’s Lynn allegedly related to construction finishes on a new pagoda covering a 17th century Chinese artifact at Sandringham. The media outlet published a photo of the structure at the following link:

        https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2026/02/12/07/106323501-15552673-image-a-2_1770880617243.jpg

A previous pagoda built in the 1870’s when the Chinese artifact arrived had been demolished in 1960 due to decay. This artifact made its way from China to Sandringham with Admiral Sir Henry Keppel, a friend of the future King Edward VII. Some County Norfolk and Sandringham webpages referencing the old pagoda seem to be disappearing. However the following link from the University of Bristol offers a detailed history:

        https://hpchina.blogs.bristol.ac.uk/page/2/?cat=-1

Admiral Keppel is an uncle of Alice Keppel, mistress of King Edward VII. Mrs. Keppel in turn is a great-grandmother of the present Queen Consort, Camilla. During the First Opium War, Admiral Keppel commanded HMS Dido. The ship was named after the founding Queen of Carthage originally from Tyre, Lebanon. According to Rome’s Virgil, Queen Dido fell in love with the hero of Troy, Aeneas.

Separately the “Historia Regum Britanniae” of 1136 informs (from Greek legend?) that a descendant of Aeneas, Brutus, led Trojans to Albion (son of Poseidon), the modern day UK. Legend claims that Brutus became the first King of England, and founder of New Troy now known as London.

As chance would have it, King’s Lynn noted above also featured in a tragic 2012 event. A missing child from the town was found deceased on the Sandringham royal estate as described in a 2014 “BBC” report at the following link:

        https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-norfolk-29209527

      • Mention of the tragic Queen Dido of Carthage and Aeneas brings to mind Princess Diana and her beau, Dodi Fayed. As chance would have it, he was a cousin of the Mr. Jamal Khashoggi who allegedly perished at a Saudi consulate.

  8. My T.I. Scientific played with one of my math theories., including Fridays’ numbers – I have my data-date still in March .., between the 11th and 17th.
This can change due to a sudden short run-up., or short quick sell-off.., between now and then..,
But.., it is looking rather dicey for Mid-March.
    – This math theory was used on “Carnac The Magnificent”.., my aggregate index., not on any single index, like the NASDAQ, or S&P500.
    .
On the disclosure side – this math model is flat-ass wrong one out of six times., and I have no explanation for it. I have worked and reworked it so many times I am sick of it. So., because of its failure rate – I only use it in conjunction with my other math models. As a ‘weak-sister’ conformation to my charting., and never as a stand-alone indicator.
    .
.., and in case you missed it – Trump has already signed a 10% global tariff. He’s not done., not by a long shot. But – he is running out of time.

Did he? Really? Or did someone at that bastion of impartiality, NPR, editorialize the headline of their hit piece to set its tone for the low-information types?

  15. THE BIGGEST IDENTITY LEAK IN HISTORY!

The information was made public on February 18, 2026:

1 BILLION personal data records have been exposed to the world by IDMerit, a company specializing in AI-based identity verification.

The very AI that was supposed to secure these identity checks is the cause of the largest personal data leak in recent history.

    One-eighth of humanity potentially compromised!!

    – Full names
    – Postal addresses
    – Dates of birth
    – Phone numbers
    – Emails

    And above all:

    – Passport copies
    – ID cards and official documents from 26 countries

    ?? United States (204 million)
    ?? Mexico (123 M)
    ?? Philippines (72 M)
    ?? Germany (60 M)
    ?? France (52 million people)…

These ultra-sensitive records came from mandatory KYC processes of banks, fintech companies, insurance firms, and telecom operators around the world.

I almost gave birth at home because the ambulance refused to come get me – a 37-year-old first-time mother with a premature baby. They prioritized treating people with the flu instead.

Do you know what it’s like to endure expulsive contractions while going down two flights of stairs and sitting in a car? My baby was born within the hour.

Now, my baby is struggling to eat, is dehydrated, and needs urgent care. What does the emergency medical clinic do? Nothing. They do nothing, and when asked, they told us she’s not a priority while letting one hijab in after the other, which is exactly what happened the last time I was there.

My blood is boiling at this point.

On my way to a private clinic now, which will cost between 500-1000 dollars. We can’t even get insurance for this type of emergency care.

    Welcome to Norway.

  17. While Bloomberg runs headlines about a nuclear deal, the Pentagon is evacuating personnel from the blast radius.

Hundreds of US military personnel at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar are being relocated ahead of a possible strike on Iran. ABC News confirmed it. This is not a rotation.

This is force protection repositioning, the standard tactical sequence that precedes kinetic action in every American military operation in the Middle East since 2003. You do not move hundreds of people out of a base seven hundred kilometers from Iran because talks are going well.

In the same 24-hour window, Iran designated the European Union’s air forces and navies as terrorist organizations. That is Tehran’s response to the EU designating the IRGC as a terror group.

  19. Twenty percent of the world’s seaborne oil passes through a corridor 21 miles wide. A US Navy P-8A Poseidon is circling above it right now.

Flight tracking data confirmed on February 22 shows aircraft AE6851 operating out of Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, executing tight surveillance orbits over the Strait of Hormuz near Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island.

This is not unusual in isolation. The US flies roughly 50 P-8A patrols annually over the strait. What is unusual is context.

The P-8A Poseidon is not a fighter. It is a submarine hunter and maritime surveillance platform. It carries 129 sonobuoys, AN/APY-10 surface search radar, and can deploy torpedoes and Harpoon missiles.

When a P-8A orbits a chokepoint at operational altitude, it is building a real-time picture of everything beneath the surface: submarine positions, mine placements, fast-attack craft staging, coastal defense battery activation. It is mapping the kill zone.

The P-8A’s orbit pattern is specifically designed to neutralize the first two before a single bomb falls on Natanz.

You do not pre-map a chokepoint’s submarine and mine threat environment for leverage.

You pre-map it because you intend to keep the chokepoint open while hitting something that will make the other side want to close it.

The P-8A is the last sensor pass.

    ALSO…

Iran imported 5,000 foreign fighters in January to fire on Iranians when Iranians won’t.

That single fact tells you more about the regime’s survival probability than every think tank report published this decade.

Here is what is actually happening inside the most mispriced sovereign risk on earth as of right now.

The water is gone. Iran lost 211 cubic kilometers of total storage since 2003. That is twice the country’s entire annual consumption. Tehran’s reservoirs sit at 10 to 13 percent capacity. Mashhad, the second-largest city: below 3 percent. Sanctions relief does not refill aquifers. A nuclear deal does not make it rain.

Our “foreign aid” is designed as a bribe, to keep us involved in other nations’ business, not as an actual gift.

    • I hate dropping news posts like that, but I’d already started when I hit some Tweets which needed to be mentioned. Had I not started posting, I’d have E-Mailed them to George so he could pick and choose.

      As for TDS haters:

Once upon a time I was a naive computer nerd with a less-than-half-assed interest in current affairs. It was the early ’90s. I was familiar with [what came to be called] The Clinton Chronicles so I hated Bill Clinton. I also hated GHWBush because I read his lips. Then in ’92, this guy named Soros “broke the Bank of England.” I didn’t know what that meant, but it caught my eye and I figured it was not a good thing.

I knew nothing about international politics, diplomacy, intrigue, or economics or finance, but decided I owed it to myself to learn a little.

The Web wasn’t a thing. We learned from newsgroups, telnet, textfiles on ftp sites, and bulletin board network feeds, and of course Compuserve (and later, America Online), which hosted many of the network feeds the bulletin boards tapped. I can’t remember where it was — probably FIDO:politics or an open BBS chat, but I was grousing about America’s choice and selection of Presidential candidates and I used the “H-word.” One of the frequent participants hopped into my thread and asked me: “When did you meet President Bush and President Clinton?”

      “I haven’t.”

“Then how could you possibly know you hate them?”

You might dislike certain of their policies, you might object to some of their actions, but if you stop and consider: If you are an honest man, it is truly impossible to hate a person you don’t personally know.
      {Not in quotes because it’s a paraphrase.}

He was very nice, patient, and humble. He had an enormous knowledge of diplomacy and international politics and seemed to know a lot about a lot of prominent people, without ever indicating he’d ever met any of them. His name was Reza and he was both very bright and common as dirt. I read a lot of his comments, dropped an occasional line, and thanks to his prodding, came to learn a lot of stuff from a lot of people, including Naval officers and alphabet employees I came to know, some of whom worked for Agencies which “didn’t exist.” I knew Reza for over five years before I learned his father was the Shah of Iran. He never mentioned it, and was neither treated differentially, nor demanded such treatment. He was just a guy in a chat channel / chatroom / forum who liked to help others find their way.

Yeah, I’m a fan. I like him a lot, and judge him by the guy I met on a Pennsylvania 28.8 dialup BBS, 34 years ago, and the way that guy measured up.

Because of him, I don’t hate Mr. Obama or Mr. Biden despite the fact they’ve all but destroyed the amazing place the United States used to be, and I always treat a former President with respect, at least the first time he’s mentioned in a thread.

That’s also why I ignore TDS. I can’t fix bigotry, stupidity, or cognitive biases; nobody can, and I figured out some years ago that it was a waste of my time and effort to try.

  20. From “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” too…
