War Bonds Coming as Markets, Weather Cool

Judging by the early Futures, the market’s going to slip on the ice of news flows at the open today.

Just after 5 AM Central Ice Age Time, Dow futures were down almost 200, the S&P down almost 30, and the NASDAQ was down more than a hundred.

Just out is the Empire State Manufacturing data from the NY Fed:

The headline  general business conditions index fell
twenty-nine points to -43.7, its lowest reading since May 2020. New orders and shipments also posted sharp declines. Unfilled orders continued to shrink significantly, and delivery times continued to shorten. Inventories edged lower.

More numbers will be along tomorrow (Retail Sales and Industrial Production/Cap Utilization.

After the number Dow futures which had been rallying fell back below =100.  This informs the truly crazy person to expect a rally into the day’s close after a morning nosebleed and then see what Retail brings…

War Bonds are Coming

Need to cover-up a $35-trillion Federal Debt?  Easy-peasy.

Start a War. Issue War Bonds. Example #1: WW-1.

‘In 1917 and 1918, the United States government issued Liberty Bonds to raise money for its involvement in World War 1. An aggressive campaign was created by Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo to popularize the bonds, grounded largely as patriotic appeals.[24] The Treasury Department worked closely with the Committee on Public Information in developing Liberty Bond campaigns.[25] The resulting propaganda messages often borrowed heavily from military colloquial speech.”

Since we are already in WW 3 and arming one side, well, you can see the play coming, non?

Go Ahead – be skeptical.  But War Bonds worked so well, we issued them again even before Pearl Harbor! Example #2:

Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr. however preferred a voluntary loan system and began planning a national defense bond program in the fall of 1940. The intent was to unite the attractiveness of the baby bonds that had been implemented in the interwar period with the patriotic element of the Liberty Bonds from the First World War.

And while it should be clear that Ukraine’s been issuing bonds (in addition to having the War Party syphon off American taxpayer  cash, as well, most people don’t know Canada is already “bonding” the future of WW3!

On 28 October 2022, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Canada announced that they will sell government-backed, 5-year bonds to raise money for Ukraine.

We’re pretty sure the rich pricks meeting in Davos know “the plan” and they will get the word on this direction early.  We figure in a year, or less, there will be (semi-mandatory) “war bonds” being sold in America to fight the Greatest War.  Coming to a pay stub near you.

At Davos, we think of this as “hold up Tuesday” as: Ukraine’s Zelensky, Chinese Premier Li share Davos spotlight.

Penciling How to Play It

The reason is that markets have mixed feelings about Wars.  I mean little wars – which the War Party has dished out serially – are OK.  They light a candle under Congress’ butt and that pumps up election year hiring in the death industries.  On the other hand, World War III (not WW 2.6 – The Cold War) is a different deal.  And we seem to be heading that way: German Defense Ministry document: “Germans to prepare for war with Russia – We are fast approaching ‘Day X'”

The talking heads in theater are starting to sound like lunatics: As CNBC reports Ukraine foreign minister muses about ‘punching’ Russia’s Lavrov; thousands evacuated in Kharkiv region.  But it’s not just talk.  We have heard (unconfirmed) reports that Poland is telling young men to report for military service.  And at the margins that’s a fit with German Army Could be Deployed to Poland for First Time Since World War Two.

We hope you have been studying G.A. Stewart’s voluminous Nostradamus work.  As we have previously mentioned, there is concern about Macedonia and while some may think of this as Greece, there was (at the time The Quatrains were written) a larger geographic area involved.  One that goes to modern-day Serbia.  And this matters became a) Serbia leans toward Russia while Kosovo is in the NATO camp.  There is a most clear potential war front wheeling out as Serbia to ramp up military spending in 2024 in standoff with Kosovo.

The Massive Front of WW3

There are almost as many ways to bet this war as there are ways to bet a Roulette wheel.  The Wesat/Russia alignments go something like this:

  • Finland vs. Russia (837 km border)
  • NATO Baltics vs. St. Petersburg
  • Germany>Poland>Ukraine vs. Russia
  • Kosovo vs.l Russia
  • Turkey (key swing player) vs. NATO or Russia
  • Iran vs. Syria
  • Lebanon vs. Israel
  • Israel vs. Gaza
  • Egypt vs. (TBD)

And that brings us to the Houthi attack by “Strongman Joe.”  And its on this one we need to send you over to G.A. Stewarts work out today on |The Man from Yemen – Al Madhi|.  In Nostradamus’ work, expecting to see Houthi several hundred years in advance would be asking too much.  But the Man (men) from Yemen?  Yep, headlines all over the place about them.

Houthi fire hits U.S.-owned ship popped overnight.  While some are offering cautious counsel (How Biden Can Stop Houthi Attacks—Without Risking War | TIME) we’re pretty sure the War Party marionette will shuffle and go along as told by his handlers.

Likely more important – because one of Russia’s “red lines” may be direct NATO attacks on its homeland as a trigger for a nuclear response – the story (1) Russia-Ukraine war live: Kyiv urges civilians to leave villages near north-east front; Russian city hit by ‘Ukraine drone’ (theguardian.com) which seems like trying to get civilians out from harm’s way.

War Plans West:  North Korea No Longer Seeks Reconciliation with South, Kim Says. Given enough time and money from arms sales to Russia and that front will light up, too. We’re also taking bets on whether Taiwan will still be independent by our Fourth of July….

Weather, Iowa Chill

Not surprising if your brain is working even a little bit: Joe Biden calls Trump a ‘clear’ Republican frontrunner after landslide Iowa win. Worse for Trump: Trump Loses Star Lawyer Joe Tacopina Ahead of Trials.

Cold enough in East Texas today that we’ve taken the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland off our lunch plans.  Well, one other factor might be Iceland volcano: Situation in Grindavík has ‘become very bleak’ following new eruption.  Us? Cowards you say?  Uh-huh.  Live longer that way.

ATR: Adventures W/10, Mesh

Made a decision Monday that I’d write today’s column from our home recording studio. Three reasons drove that:  First is my office heat was lower than normal (49F) although that was likely due to the outside temp here being 11F and me not having the heat on high.

The reason for that is the Starlink goes into defrost mode every so often, and that kicks one of the circuit breakers IF my office heat is on high. Not a biggie, but manageable.  Well, except 49F is outside the operating temperature range, so the typo rate goes up and the clever thought stream dries up.

The second reason was that I hadn’t pulled maintenance in here for six months.  As a result, both computers (Win10s) needed various updates applied.  Which meant lots of downloads.  And in one case, when the update didn’t apply right (leaving me with a flashing blank desktop) having to put on my “Tech hat”.  Which was from an elevated command prompt running >dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

This all took a while, but that gets me to point #3 – which really is worth sticking around for if you are a creative sort.

There is an open source music notation system out there which is ideal for semi-snowed-in studio time: Free music composition and notation software | MuseScore. Version 4 is the current rev.  There is also a ton of learning material. MuseScore 4.2: A milestone update for guitarists, plus much more (youtube.com).

All of which is great IF the network is fast enough to download whatever today’s passing software fancy is.  However,, when I built the studio, remember this was back in the times of wired computer networks and I made the (damn fool) mistake of putting in a high grade of foil backed R-15.  Very bad for wireless.

So, after a full day of computer tech, software junkie activity (and that included installing LibreOffice on this machine in addition to a lot more) I concluded that  it didn’t matter what I did, there was simple not a straight-enough shot at the Starlink Router (other building, through 2 or more layers of insulation) to provide for a solid transfer rate.

Files would transfer, but slowly because of so much error correction.

So now, we’ll be adding the Starlink mesh router in this building.  Which has its limits.  Like 125 devices, though we only have 22 active most of the time.  It’s also WiFi 5, not 6.  So for most people, an Amazon Eero mesh is a better choice.  Me? Lazy?  We just want to pair and be done.

The other benefit (besides ease of install) was that the Starlink store is a joy to use.  See what you’re interested in. Read a one-page installation guide. Click enter and the order was done. Shipping is all in there, no re-entering the credit card, nothing. Just click and OK to ship.

In terms of a “lost snow day?” Nope.  Got some “nice to get done” projects rolled out and there is still nothing like Van Halen out of a 14-speaker FOH array at +110 dBm to start the day right.

Unless you happen to answer to Elaine and you’re at the other end of the house.  That’s why I ran FOH only.  Am I a considerate old man, or what?

Write when your ears stop ringing,

In my opinion, here’s a perfect real world example…

A young grandfather shot to death on a Brooklyn subway train Sunday night was breaking up a fight when he was killed with his grieving family calling him a man who “always wanted peace.”

Richard Henderson, 45, of Crown Heights had apparently intervened in a dispute over loud music between his killer and another man before he caught two bullets — one in the back and another in the shoulder — on a Manhattan-bound 3 train about 8:15 p.m., police and sources said.

The victim’s older brother, Jermaine Henderson, told The Post that his sibling would take the shirt off his back if he thought it would help others.

“He died helping someone,” Jermaine said. “That’s him! He always intervened, he always wanted peace.

“That’s just what he did his whole life: Help people,” Jermaine continued. “We’re baffled. He was on his way home to his family.”

    • Sorry, but you may extrapolate forgoing into that most people love war. If it was not so there would be no war among nations. LEADERS ought to fight it out among themselves if they have issues, and not get millions of (innocents?) involved.
The older I get the more I think that AH was wrong saying that “common folks are not smarter than a flock of geese.” Geese would not do these acts to each other. Think peace with all your heart. ;-)

  2. Foiled (R-15) again,

Last eve we were all a flustered trying to decide between jetting west for the Emmys or east for Davos. Tarmac space was so limited it looked like nogo SUI unless routing through GER. Crazy farmers were clogging transport and by then the Citation was fubar in cold. Stayed home instead.

-2F here with piping breeze out of the SSW.
Stir crazy may yield to rock ‘n roll.
    Stay tuned, same station.

    Egor

ps – Empire State, that’s the best you can do?

    • Citation would have needed a re-fooling stop in Iceland and then you’re in volcano dust country.
Egor, you gotta get a Gulfstream or something with “longer legs” to show at the Swiss cheese place. Nonstop.

I liked to laugh at the jet owners on short hops. They could fly it in a third of my flight time on the shoret hops. But filing IFR, awaiting for clearance delivery, spacing for traffic, laborious descents. And noise profiles. Nope. Down and fast VFR with fright following. None of this climbing to 18k for GPS direct. Go direct when you turn off runway heading and keep the airspeed up and eyes open, yessir.

Drones fly well in the cold, though

  3. “German Defense Ministry document: “Germans to prepare for war””

We were told Russia ‘obviously’ blew-up Germany’s Nord Stream so that would mean the two have been at war for some time.

In a soup of overlapping propaganda there goes an ‘obvious’ noodle.

“‘In 1917 and 1918, the United States government issued Liberty Bonds….”

Unfortunately the Time Machine isn’t available. It would be fun to explore 1917/1918 and get a feel for the mood.

I think the Liberty bonds were the seeds that made today’s debt super structure. Here’s what we know. In today’s economy the General Motors bankruptcy proved stocks and bonds are intrinsically worthless. There are no claims.

Currently to keep the legacy stocks and bonds system afloat .gov has been juggling bailouts. Another Trilly or two will be on the books by the 4th of July. People are noticing. What comes after stocks & bonds in financial evolution?

Since “we all own it” anyway they’ll probably replace today’s financial instruments with tiers of ‘citizen certificates’ that pay dividends or UBI.

In this case all citizens are issued a minimum batch of certificates making them eligible for a minimum UBI.

Perhaps as an incentive producers/workers will accumulate more parts of certificates for their effort so their dividend/UBI will be more.

    • My consigliere has the keys “The Guns of August” Tuchman, Barbara, was it?

As for the Nordstream? Everyone with a nickel’s worth knows it was a US/UK job when the 10-minute PM told her handlers “It’s done.” Jeez, keep up with the class!

      • I have read four of Tuchman’s books.., all are worth reading / studying. She had a great style of writing and conveying history.

      • The word “Liberty” was used a lot back then.

“As used in the Constitution, liberty means freedom from arbitrary and unreasonable restraint upon an individual. Freedom from restraint refers to more than just physical restraint, but also the freedom to act according to one’s own will.”

        – Liberty Bell (1752)
        – Statue of “Liberty” (On October 28, 1886, the statue of “Liberty Enlightening the World” was officially unveiled)
        – Walking “Liberty” half dollars (1916-1947)
        – Liberty bonds (1917 & 1918)
        – Eighteen days after Congress declared war against Germany in 1917, it passed the “Liberty” Loan Act
        – Liberty Mutual (insurance) was established in 1912 as the Massachusetts Employees Insurance Association (MEIA) following the passage of a 1911 legislation in the state requiring employers to provide workers’ compensation insurance to their employees.

        Not so much anymore.

    • if I would have invested just what came out if my payroll for Social security..in savings bonds every paycheck…I would have accumulated north of fifty million if I had had the ability to direct the companies share with my share I would have had more than a hundred million dollars. instead we allowed morons and idiots to take those social security funds and waste them away on wars to benefit schmuck that already have more than they or their families will ever need..
it’s always about the business model.
what’s disturbing is these over privileged schmuck don’t even pay taxes here. instead the slave class of people pay it..
I will never forget watching Ronnie on TV telling the people that the US had thei=backs and always would and by allowing those funds to be used to bail out banks .. ( which gave out multi million dollar bonuses to shit heads that did crappy jobs)
now you hear talk of those leaches on society..
a friend of mines brother lives like a king on his social security living in another country with a lower cost of living.
hell..I would save thousands just moving to Texas on taxes and Texas has more elderly insurance options than what is offered in the wastelands..closer to Mexico for medical expenses..

      • I’m sorry, your numbers don’t make sense to me. when i crunch em – purchases of $1000 a week(which you’re not saving) at 7% annually (which is high) for 50 years of savings (which you didn’t do), compounded monthly (that no one gets), I come out to less than $6Million. Can you please share your calculations? No one saves $50-$100million through payroll deductions.

        • it doesn’t have to be a thousand a week.. I worked an average of three jobs.. at twenty six pay periods a year.. two of those jobs.. had alternating pay periods.. so there was a paycheck every week.. and one week there were two paychecks..
investing just the fifteen percent of payrole..
at seven year compounding periods. take a one hundred dollar investment compounding what I had what twelve compounding periods from the time I started to work per paycheck per week…. 200,400,800,1600,3200,6400,12800,25600,51200,102400,204800,405600. of course I didn’t do that.. when young I didn’t see the simplicity of the whole family lecture..the secret is in the compounding periods.. my fathers lectures didn’t hit home until I was frustrated.. and at the time trying to look eighteen.. so I would swim laps.. and lifted weights.. jogged etc.. and was talking with an investment banker in the pool .. we did laps together and I made a comment.. god I just don’t get it.. I work my ass to the ground and just seems like I am paying doctors medical bills and little nightmares that come up…. he laughed and said.. its all about the compounding periods a child investing three grand and then life hits them.. would retire a millionaire… and he said.. he bet that my brothers and sisters put their pocked change in a jar.. ( they did.. ) he said it isn’t the dollars you save but the pennies in the jar.. and he laid out exactly what my father was telling me all those years.. my two freinds and their sister.. their parents got it.. and my best friend spent more money on the lamp in his entryway than I did for my whole house..
The trick is the kids have to do it right away.. when they first begin working.. I started working young.. increase that compounding period to how many jobs I worked and how many weeks.. it adds up pretty dam quick its the eighth wonder of the world…
(“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it.” ? Albert Einstein. Warren Buffett has said that compound interest is an investor’s best friend and compared building wealth through interest to rolling a snowball down a hill.”)
My problem was .. I didn’t understand the simplicity of compound interest until it was to late in life having had life slap me in the face at a young age.. I was like a dog chasing my tail.. each year.. you have to amplify the amount of savings to match the compounding interest..
an employer once told me.. invest is zero growth bonds.you buy the interest up front.. buy thirty year bonds.. where they amplified the interest to some pretty profound limits..

        • That’s also what makes what our congress is doing so dangerous. borrowing money to toss at Ukraine and wars at 8 percent interest and unable to even par the interest on the loans. the compounding periods are now at the doubling stage.. my grandson has nine compounding periods..I fear he won’t do it either.. life is already starting to be real..

        • (No one saves $50-$100million through payroll deductions.)

that’s what makes set compounding periods a plus..the poor mans way to growth.. at twenty-five to lets say 60 you would have 5 compounding periods.. 24 pay periods.. In one year…or 76,800 at retirement..you would have to do it religiously. just the amount you pay into social security.. that’s also why George bush Jr and senior tried to get passed a law allowing laborers to put a portion of their social security funds into a stable fund. congress didn’t want to give up control of it. instead we bailed out to big to fail companies that gave executives multi million dollar bonuses for failing at their jobs..

“President George W. Bush proposed a Social Security reform in 2005 that aimed to allow younger workers to invest a portion of their Social Security taxes in private accounts, which would be invested in stocks and bonds1. The proposal was met with opposition from both Democrats and Republicans, and it failed to gain traction in Congress1.

The proposal was based on the idea that younger workers would be able to earn higher returns on their investments than they would through the traditional Social Security . However, critics argued that the proposal would have increased the federal deficit and would have put the retirement security of millions of Americans at risk..”
would it..I think it would depend on where it was invested of course the results would be depending on where it was Invested..by that time I understood it..but was to old to make it work for me..

        • Oh let me share this..even though I was to old to get the compounding to help me in gathering savings..it did help me with loans.. because of medical issues and an employer that threw the employees under the wheels of the bus in his, attempts to gather great wealth playing the stocks and silver.. A freak accident as a child fell from a tree and impaled himself.. finding out none of us had insurance the bills were just shy a half million.. at what I made then you would never pay it off..the hospitals charge two percent.. I was screwed..anyway knowing my banker now then as a kid..he knew what I went through.. at my main jobs wages which is what they counted..I couldn’t one get a standard loan.. I couldn’t buy toilet paper on credit.. it was a nightmare.. when he got into a position and understanding what my life had dealt me..the only loan I could get was a high interest short term loan.. five year balloon.. it was somewhere north of 20 percent…what I could do though..was split the payment and pay more without any penalties.
I got an amortization schedule..considering the loan writing fees etc. it would show like a buck went to the principle.. splitting the loan payment and adding the principle plus..like five bucks.. I not only was able to pay the loan off but in record time..instead of thirty years dropped it in half or less..
now not all financial institutions will allow you to to that..I was lucky..even today because of past medical expenses I cannot get a loan from any banks ..I actually told him now that he’s getting to retirement age that he should introduce me to some of the younger kids..
depending on your age I would seriously check with the bank you have your home loan with to see what they allow. half a payment every two weeks you pay more than what the amortization schedule says and adding the extra principle payment is like making an extra months payment..And saving hundreds of dollars and the bank will gladly give you a copy of your amortization schedule and tell you if they allow it.. most banks slap you with penalties..or come right out and say no..pay the I defeat first etc.
if your over thirty..you couldn’t save enough..you lost in compounding periods but gain it in loan pre payment..

    • “Unfortunately the Time Machine isn’t available. It would be fun to explore 1917/1918 and get a feel for the mood.”

I’d prefer to go the other way, into the future …

“We figure in a year, or less, there will be (semi-mandatory) “war bonds” being sold in America to fight the Greatest War. Coming to a pay stub near you.”

I’d like to see that “mood”. The people’s opinions have changed … because the (reasons) for wars have changed. No one wants to pay for the global folly these days.

      • “I’d like to see that “mood”. The people’s opinions have changed ”

simple to see the mood.. they put it in the movies..what has changed isn’t the mood of the people but the reason for the requests from those that lead..
Its what builds a civilization and when the reason for the requests changes to one of self importance instead of all then.. destroys the civilization

        • Not that anyone will read this, but there is a time machine. Its buried in the collections of many large public libraries and institutions of higher education. Reading microfilm sucks but the advertisements in the NYT will provide a window to the culture of the period. The actual news not so much. However, the old gray lady is a major source for what was going on in theatre, art, music, and the developing film industry. Then there are the bound backfiles of the popular magazines. Their articles and adds will also be informative. The NYT microfilm is no good for picking up the color scheme of the period but some magazines were printed in color which helped.
Back in the day I used to help theatre students learn to do this for set design and costuming. Its really kind of fun.

    • “Unfortunately the Time Machine isn’t available. It would be fun to explore 1917/1918 and get a feel for the mood.”

We’ve been sheeple for a long time. The basic American wanted to kick German ass, because the torpedoing of the Lusitania was propagandized as an unprovoked German attack on an innocent civilian passenger liner.

We berate Progressive Democrat Woodrow Wilson for gifting [to] the American People, Income Taxes and the (not)Federal (not)Reserve. Some remember that he created and implemented the “imposition of segregation,” which booted all of the Black, former slaves and their descendants from all government jobs and positions to which they’d ascended through election and achievement, brought about by Republican efforts at racial equality.

By mid-1917 every journalist who refused to toe the Administration’s line or march in lockstep to its agenda was either charged under Wilson’s “Sedition Act” or censored out of business.

In the ramp-up to WW-I, it was either “happy talk” or “no talk at all…”

  5. George,
About the Russo Finish border, it has along and bloody history. I found it kind of interesting. The terrain is largely hilly forests, lakes, rivers, wetlands with limited roads and conditions to support heavy armored vehicles. From past history the Finns know where the Russians could attack and would be prepared. The Russians know this. The same applies if the Finns attack. Russia would also know that the butchers bill would be very high for sending infantry into a forest
against a prepared enemy. The battle of the hurtgen forest being a recent example. Finland also has a reputation for producing high quality small arms (the lappua for example). I just don’t think the Russians are willing to pay a high price for a negligible gain. likewise I am sure the Finns know that to attack Russia would be nations suicide.

On a different note, its time to read Jack London’s “To build a fire” and Robert W. Service’s “The Cremation of Sam Mcgee”. For a warmer read especially for those with salt water in their veins I recommend Jack London’s ” The son of the Sun” wonderful tales of sailing the South Seas, diving for pearls. fighting pirates and cannibals.

Apologies for the lack of links.

    Stay warm.

  6. (“Canada announced that they will sell government-backed, 5-year bonds to raise money for Ukraine.”)

lol..think about that for a moment… your money doubling every 5 years.. savings bonds is every 7 years.. if the fiat currencies stay slevant and doesn’t travel down the Weimar or Zimbabwean path.. a kid investing 2500.00 in five year bonds would have how much is it ..something like 5 to 6 million..
a good childhood friends parents did that for each of their kids..all three of them are multi millionaire’s…
but if the Bric’s and our let’s toss more money at wars destroys our fiat currencies… then that’s the gamble will you end up with a jelly doughnut.. or richhhhhh…
it’s like that pallet load of empty beer cans. the shipping was the same as shipping a full pallet..so since they would still be making a profit decided that since I buy from them regularly they would upgrade my order at no extra charge.. for 12 dollars for to that it sells for 140 a case to 200 a case in the usa.. all made at the same factories..
that’s like those bottle plugs 50 thousand of them for a couple hundred or 20 …

    • lootb:

We ‘Mericans are becoming loose with facts on how quickly one’s money doubles. Make 10% and it takes roughly (7) years. But, a big butt, to make 10% one would need to be 100% in large cap. equities (that based on the last hundred years) Few, if any, go all in on stocks and we need perpetuity to know our brief lifetime works with the averages. Heck, it’s aggressive to assume (you know what they say about when one assumes) one makes 7% then doubling takes (11) years.

Would we all have been able to do better than minimal returns with our Social Security contributions invested in vehicles of our choosing? Yep. But we didn’t / don’t have that ability. Gummint rules.

Long ago I wrote to Senators and Congressmen posing this notion: Let me opt out of SS entirely in exchange for depositing just my contributions into an IRA. I’d forgive the one to have the other.

she’s also the one that I have listed on my final wishes to handle the final expenses..
the house will go to the one grand child that needs it the most. for a hundred dollars or some crazy expense..
now if I am not able to leave till my projects are finished..then I will be here till I’m 200 or so lol..all my tools are my grandkids..they could be sold but seriously.. I’d get more enjoyment watching them build something.. I don’t value things.I value people and knowledge..

    • What’s so special about Ukraine that Canada would back these bonds with their “full faith and credit”?

Actually, I fail to see any legitimate reason for the US or Canada to even care about Ukraine – it’s a tiff between two countries and neither of them are us!

The more we support Ukraine, the more Ukrainians will die. That’s reality. It seems that the warmongers here care more for a world war than they do for our nation, or any other nation. It’s obvious that secrets hide there, but what secrets, and why are they so damn important?

      • Ukraine was drug and pedo money – and we brought it ourselves from the 1980s when the Scotia line of suits got names out of offshore banks. Now if you have local nominees in UKR – well, until a while back – things could be made to happen. Not necessarily legal, but of benefit to the benefactors if’n ya foller?

      • “Actually, I fail to see any legitimate reason for the US or Canada to even care about Ukraine – it’s a tiff between two countries and neither of them are us!”

hmm could it be the business model?
from those I had visited with.. the Ukrainian citizens took a vote and asked Putin to step in to stop the corruption..horrible things were going on..
The list of horrific corrupt activities was long.
some of them hired the ..Brand..to take care of protecting the business model.
so we borrow a few hundred billion at 8 percent to give at them.. consider the illegals crossing the border..and the us paying to support and house them..even the ones seriously seeking refuge it’s a financial torpedo or missile shoved on the people..now.. those entering legally they should be exempt from receiving federal resources pay the same taxes and pay a non resident tax until they gain citizenship.
considering the financial burdens alone..and our past financial habits of robbing Peter to pay Paul at high interest..the citizens cannot afford to maintain the velocity of ignorance and irresponsible actions of our political leaders.
        the tree will fall..
we will in my opinion see multi million dollar loaves of bread.
a double hamburger meal has trippled in three years..each burger is half the size and weight..the size of the products has reduced.. in grocery stores you see every product in the same sized container but less product in the container..
in my opinion we have been screwed..
        by the brand

      • See senator obongo’s trip to the Russian territories (kraine) with senator richard lugar, mcstain was there too. See tbsilsi lugar center for deadly pathogens.

See history of health problems in populations around these BIOLABS, kraine in particular.
Congress made that SHIT illegal on US soil -hence ft. detrick shutting down.
Everytime those kinda labs are with in US limits ..ie plum island, we get nasty, spooky crytids and worse escaping and running wild (infecting/slaughtering humans).

        Mothman anyone ?

Remember what they gifted Us with from the army lab in Lyme, NH ???

All this with YOUR Tax dollars..bwahahahahaahahahah

    • Nein, Nein, Nein .

You been reading too many stories regards Doubling on the Chess board. Old tale of doubling the Grains every square, till you get to the last square – never happens.
In the late 80’s when Mortgage rates were 8-9%. 20Yr. UST Treasury Bonds were yielding 10%. That was my default Investment Return Rate when MM on Phila Options flr.
      * Richest Man is Pennslytucky ? Susquehanna fame, Penn alum, started on Options flr-Specialist post next to mine.

If I couldnt expect/get at least 10% return on my trades, why bother, dump the excess in UST’s at 10% and move on.

PS – Silver is/has been a terrible Investment for the last 25 yrs or so..TERRIBLE, if a Long side player. Physical PM’s are strictly for Holding and Protecting Wealth .

The MAIN, the number one factor for Success in Business Finance is Ure ability to Handle RISK. It is what sets highly successful people in Business and Finance apart from the masses. Think back on Ure times of Financial Scarcity – FEAR – 1 of the most powerful emotions we experience in being Mortal.

Fear – it is the vehicle by which majority of Peeps have been controlled by their church&government leaderz.
We Muggles are easy to Control with FEAR – majority of readership was FEARING the Deadly covert19 pysop, froze they were. How many did they get to take gene therapy clot shot ? How many in readership, including mr editor, were running around screaming, to anyone who would listen, about Masking Up, Gloving up, Social Isolation ?

  7. Business Insider is a foreign controlled anti-Trump and it was not the lead counsel,,, enemy propaganda, focus mr Ure, even ure fav supports Donald Trump,,,, Dr. Ben Carson.
the psycho/slut jean case is a distraction from the main battle.
    back to the main event
Trump KICKED ASS, paper ballots and counted in one evening, Bam
back to 2020,,, Trump won,,, and you , they, and we know it!!! they cheated, they stolen our election
the deep staters are planning another coup, trying to remove the military out from the president’s control for when he is re-elected,,,

if in they don’t do a BLACK SWAN to stop the election,,, you know, for saving the democracy, that they live in,,, as for the rest of US, we have a Republic to save.

    • I bought DWAC way back shortly after it came out,,, lost most of my money on 80 shares, when it got real low, I bought 80 more,,, well today I got a lot back, not all, but a good day no less, up $4.80 last I looked,,, against the flow of the Nasdaq,
for no reason at all, I have a strange notion that DWAC and ‘X’ could combine,,, just a pipe dream, no visual indicators to give me that idea,,, must be the hopium or the tetrahydrocannabinol

    • I liked Carson myself.. I wanted Rand Paul or Ted Cruz to get it..they would have been kicked around to..now will they let someone else take the throne? or will there be an emergency so that the election can be cancelled.

  8. There’s a way to beat the foil-clad insulation:
A passive repeater. (No active lectronics.)

First, a foil-clad room is a LOUSY Farady cage.
Lotta gaps and leaks, compared to a true scif
    or shielded enclosure for RF.

Place a broadband dipole near the device inside
the half-ass shielded room. (“Near” = under a
couple of feet. Closer = Better)
Run a SHORT coax to a similar antenna OUTside
of the “shaded area.” (This is a lossy situation,
since there is no amplifcation. But, it’s not a
TERRIBLY lossy arangement, and could easily
overcome the reflective losses IN the scif’s
    walls.)

A broadband, resistively loaded, folded dipole
is easily built, and dirt cheap. It is also
frequency agnostic, since it lacks any active
filtering or electronics. At WiFi frequencies,
he antenna size i very small, and coax loss is
astronomical for any great length — more than
a couple of feet. Use at least “213,” it’s good
enough for short runs, and readibly available.
(Resistor center load should be 470 ohms. Half
or quarter watt is fine.) BBFDs cover well over
    a decade of frequency domain.

    It AIN’T a high-sensitivity solution, but it
will work. (The Russ used such an arrangement
to beat several skifs in Europe, until they
screwed up and blew the idea’s usefulness.)
    (Morons in the field.)

Such a “calibrated leak” is detectable, IF you
    know what to look for.

  9. “It would be fun to explore 1917/1918 and get a feel for the mood.”

the mood…when the people still believed that those they voted to represent them in government still had their backs..
    hmm..
the word patriotic comes to mind..
it didn’t really start changing until the hidden transactions and deals became legal ..
one view of the pervs kid.. thumbing the finger at congress and heads of agencies telling congress to suck walley and kiss the brown eye.
like the citizens of Germany in WW2..by the time they realized what Adolph and the Nazi party had planned they couldn’t stop it..
I think we are at that point now. it’s obvious the dual standards.. the horror that our politicians sold out them and our country.
think of this. Trump wins and isn’t able to take office. leaves biden..we go into a state of emergency and the election is cancelled.canceled..
a congress that through neglect never read the fine print.. never cared to didn’t write any of the legislation .. never in dc don’t even give a shit about the ppeople..
read the historical accounts on the rise and fall of great civilizations of thepast.. all failed in similar fashions..
    in Socrates apology and Pluto’s
description of the reasons for the fall of the Athenian society..it’s a cycle..
I bieve Plato was onto something.. instead we have the business model..

    • “Adolph and the Nazi party had planned they couldn’t stop it..“

Lately I’ve been wondering about why Adolph did what he did. I was taught that it was because he was denied entry into a Jewish art school. The more I think about that, the dumber it sounds.

      • My 90+ y/o uncle is all-in on Jewish doctors couldn’t save Hitler’s mother so Hitler wanted to kill all the Jews as retribution.

This uncle is also all-in on the Six Days War being won supernaturally – for him there’s no other explanation.

    • Hopefully I never meet him BCN. These sick bastards are at the bottom slime pile of human society. If I ever meet the piece of shit, I will give him your regards but they won’t be kind.

  10. For Mr. Stweart, and others with ears:

The Grande Fromage in Saudi Is referred to
    frequently as, M.B.S.

Seems kinda obvious to me that if one was
going to say that abbreviation aloud it would
    sound like “Mah-bus.” Mabus.

    …or is it just me?

    • For those who may not know –
“Mabus” refers to: The alleged predecessor to the third antichrist, or even the antichrist itself, according to Nostradamus. Quatrain 2:62.
Also, Ray Mabus, was the U.S. Secretary of the Navy for 18 years. 2009-2017

      • I have mentioned Mabus numerous times on different formats. Nobody , not one person seemed to care. I even asked GA here on Georges site.

Dontforget also the “black handed one”

        ( Enjoy your posts )

    • Got the same problem..
damm! I was going with Aleister Crowley illegitimate Daughter.

Ma bush, she was married to evil, birthed more evil, and even wrapped her 1st(Daughter) in Gold Foil for “The Sacrifice” way back when . Ask old scratch bout the “Sacrifice”..something about 1st born.

Married to a gruppenfurher(satanist), Mother of lil satanist bushie and that other evil POS younger bro.

So much DEATH and DESTRUCTION BY those 2 & 1/2, so many slaughtered in the name USAUSAUSA. So much Cocaine trafficked, so Oil stolen..Still.
Not too mention Sr. running herd MK Ultra program, not enough words in ENglish language to describe That kinda Evil. Just ask the CCB, if he remembers, anything..

Salman & family (pigs) bin Slaughtering thousands in the name Wahabbism, wonder where he stands on the Tote Board of Death.
      * Killing Ure own peoples is worth moar points in TheGame, so Nutanwahoo is prolly right up there with lil bushie and Salman Bin Slaughtering.

? Is it cockroach genes or something else infecting these world leader types

  11. Sadly, I think we are being played. It is not who is in the white who really determines the course of events. It is shades of gray. Quoting somebody, “the left wing and the right wing are attached to the same bird. I think war is in our future no matter who sits in the white house.

  12. Re: A comment from a couple of days ago
    – One of my favorite “acquisitions for hard times” is a rifle I won in combat-pistol contest. It is a Henry, octagon barrel, lever action, 22 caliber. Specially tweaked [ even has the Rifleman’s loop lever] by a gunsmith from Idaho, with a custom made octagon suppressor to match the barrel. That thing is deadly accurate and deadly quiet. You can barely hear it just ten yards away.
“Now I know why you put bird seed out., I counted eighteen quail this morning having breakfast.” My misses commenting on my morning routine of putting out a couple of cups of bird seed every morning. Quail are creatures of habit and for several years now they have been coming into the yard for breakfast. With that rifle I have an easy-peasy dinner all lined up.

  13. So has the ‘clowder’ adopted Ure pussy house in the cold, yet? Last I remember, Elaine was feeding only three. Now you are saying there may be six to twelve ferals in the area. So it has come to pass… Ure running a pussy ranch. I’m reminded of the old James Bond gal… “Pussy Galore”.
Soon they will be demanding an extension… with heat.

Being the only yard in the neighborhood without an outdoor dog, you can bet where the cats congregate and wail, and fertilize my lawn. When it rains, they find the garage appealing and sit atop the cars. Smells drive the little house dog crazy when we let him out.

    • re: a Demon & the 12 Angels of Death
      feat. OHMSS

      Folks,

260 or so km from Piz Gloria, Mr. Zelensky is scheduled to meet the ceo of JP Morgan at Davos according to yesterday’s “Euronews”. Kiev’s Development Finance Institution hatched on the presidential website in May, 2023 is apparently good to go. Generous funding is desired. It seems JPM and Blackrock are generously providing their services pro-bono. The devil is in the details?

  14. I had no hot water for most of the day. The line to the hot water heater must have become frozen. I’m grateful it’s now working and tomorrow should be a warmer day.

George, you have so many good recipes. Do you have any good soup ones? Everyone I know is making soup. Just curious as I’m still eating BBBE.

    • chop one large onion into 1/2 inch pieces
Do the same with 1/2 head of cabbage
Toss in two cups of baby ready to eat carrots
      two cans condensed chicken broth
1 1/2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
      two tsp italian seasoning
      optional 1 cup red wine
      \one can diced tomatoes (unseasoned)
1 to 2 pounds of low fat hamburger made into quarter sizxed balls (or use Sams frozen precooked meatballs)

      Boil for a half hour
Serve with fresh loaf of bread and a soft stick of butter…

  15. “Not surprising if your brain is working even a little bit: Joe Biden calls Trump a ‘clear’ Republican frontrunner after landslide Iowa win. Worse for Trump: Trump Loses Star Lawyer Joe Tacopina Ahead of Trials.”

    Another one bites the dust…

There is a motley collection of very powerful individuals who’ve made it their personal mandate to remove every highly-competent lawyer from Trump’s legal teams. Their M.O. is to threaten an attorney to quit, then if (s)he doesn’t, they initiate the filing of legal complaints which result in the permanent disbarment of the attorney, and shop them to either Soros courts, or those of like agenda. A list of a bunch of the attorneys who’ve been disappeared from Trump’s legal teams using this stunt usedta could be found either at Dershowitz’ or Ron Paul’s sites…
