Was Friday’s run up into the close the end of a blow-off top? Or, only the beginning of a mass hyperinflation? Because signs are pointing in both directions.
If it happens, we will have to blame the Powell Expedient Fed. Because an odd thing happens in America: Squeakiest wheels get the most “grease.” And we see the bankster/leach class as totally ignorant of holistic economics.
Granted, these observations are only apparent when you take off the government-colored glasses. Which we will do this morning, forthwith.
A few headlines and then some analysis of a long-shot wave count now coming into view for markets over summer.

that is a great article.. I am searching for the article that deals with the study of CBD and THC that does the same thing.. but also helps to reverse the damages by age etc.. I thought that study was being done at the aukland university as well.. so far I have found studies.. of that and the chemicals from Lotus Tea.. that works on that.. ( gives me another reason to love the forbidden wine of china LOL)
Dude – ATF (Alaska Thunder f____) is the remedy pour vous.
This Sativa strain is loaded with CBD’s and THC level @ 33% = Yowza!
Smells like hell..combo of cat piss and strong skunk, but tastes pretty good in a bubblier with wine & ice chips chillin Ure smoke.
Tastes like Bananas and Oranges together with a spicy aftertaste. A cerebral high, no couch lock from body highs. This strain is fast acting – like an immediate high making U more talkative and creative..count on getting the munchies. This explains the missing bag of Rainbow malted Eggs from the pantry this AM in the BCN household..they get me every time, those bastards. -https://youtu.be/qnoxKXkPqEE
No, nope, never BTC for G, going down with the ship -USS Iceberged.
“This explains the missing bag of Rainbow malted Eggs from the pantry this AM in the BCN household..”
I swear I didn’t take them lol lol lol
Yeah but they gotta grow that Alaskan stuff in heated garages. However, here in the tropics….
I’ve been using a ‘snore guard’ – essentially a sports type mouth guard that’s heated in near boiling water then molded in the mouth to keep the lower jaw slightly forward during sleep, and thereby the air passage open – for twenty years and I’m still alive. I buy them off the net for about $10. One lasts up to a year before becoming so cruddy & disgusting that my wife disappears it.
And anyway, when your heart stops beating (or more accurately, your lungs stop pumping) it’s just Nature (or something) telling you your time is up. Get over it.
IW, link please????
Search for ‘snore guard mouthpiece’. I used to buy an expensive US made one but the Chinese made generics work as well at a fraction of the cost.
Took about a week to get comfortable & stop spitting it out.. A friend paid over $2k for a CPAC 2 or 3 years ago, still isn’t comfortable with it and uses it only occasionally.
“King Charles snubbed by Joe Biden”
Something changed awhile back. There’s a rule:
“Thou Shalt Not Turn Your Back On The Queen
Just like walking in front of her is a no-no, turning your back on her is also forbidden. If the conversation is completed, people will often walk backwards to avoid ‘showing her their backs’.”
When Donald Trump was visiting the queen back in 2016 he walked in front of her and also turned his back to her.
Aloofness or total disregard for protocol. Indians now run Britain, Scotland and Ireland. The ‘Royalty’ lost their power. Side bar: Indians booting natives from their homeland. There’s a rhyme in there somewhere, huh?
I think the world has been divided between India and China.
Steve, I do believe that the Queen did gesture to President Trump to go ahead of her for the review. She says something to him as she points the way @42 sec in the video
Was the Queen submitting to Trump as did the Arabs with the Sword dance,,, ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyBKS-rV4eE
but of course the vid is labeled : “Trump breaks royal etiquette, walks in front of Queen” what else would you expect from a ‘u-tube’ allowed vid
The Queen did gesture for Trump to go ahead of her. One has to have seen more than one angle of the incident.
And…Trump was following the lead when he also pitched fish food into the koi pond.
Her motion for someone to step in front of her is a change in protocol too.
Could be nothing.
Mornin’ Tex,
We got an ole fashioned arse whippin’ last night from sunset through midnight. Big gyrating air gusts and, we knew either there was an Orc Army invading -or- nasty storm inbound. Had a radar loop and Ventusky screen going. As in ready to run for the hidey hole.
All is well this a.m. Took the elderly tomcat out for his morning hunt and watched our spring beaver glide by. Muskrat? Nope. I coughed and he did the classic tail whack then submerged. It’s snowing as I type. April Fools. No, snowing but … 04/01.
I “see” things in our charts which align. To them what ignore technicals, the lines draw themselves (borrowed from Carter Braxton Worth). What’s next? Dunno. Looks Binary. Short will work if you have staying power. Use puts with duration IMO. Or, buy silver (the most exciting chart of late). Got Ag?
Write when you get wet,

” It’s snowing as I type. April Fools. No, snowing but … 04/01.”
I noticed Ontario was getting ripped by severe thunderstorms, and it was snowing in Indiana — wondered if you caught any of the fun…
My folks were in the SWLP when I was a toddler. It was the last week in March. The house was near a lake. On the first day, my Dad and brothers went fishing in the open water. On the third day, my #2 brother walked across the lake to the store. That was a cautionary tale I heard several times growing up. I’m not sure what the lesson was supposed to be, but my take-away was to never trust Michigan weather…
Lol lol I got the kids good lol lol

they started it though..the response was hilarious
My buddy in Southern Wisconsin got whalloped. Texted me a few days back with: “Blowing Snow today, tornados tomorrow.”
He lived in a no-basement cabin on a small lake. Next day he sends me radar images of tornados north and south of him, and a big storm center aimed right at him. He asked: “Help me dig a hole?” I told him to “Go jump in the lake”.
BTW, Ray, my mother was a Yooper. We spent July 4 in the UP every year.
Like I said elsewhere, if it weren’t for the 210 inches of snow, and the winter temps…
I’ve got this 90+ y/o uncle and he recalls the original, “pre-war” Three Musketeers candy bar. He said the Three Musketeers was the ‘expensive’ candy bar because the pre-war candy bar had three flavors. The cost was a nickle each while some of the other candy bars were 3 cents each.
Candy bars were a big deal back then.
The other day I was in $WMT and noticed ask on a six pack of Three Musketeers was $6.84.
The nickle is the only chip leftover from the old system that still has the same composition from the original Three Musketeer days.
You could still buy them to.. vanilla cherry and chocolate… the three bars went off to be three different candy bars..
The $ change.
Today the $WMT website has a 3-M candy bar for $1.24, rounded that’s 25 nickles per. Over the last 90 years the candy bar has increased from one to about 25 nickles in value.
The 1930’s candy bar was probably heavier.
No corn syrup either?

I have been attempting to recreate a two hundred a bottle desert wine..dam close…anyway ..the grand daughter loved it.. then it was time for my most critical tester..got him over gave him a small cup..he tasted it..his eyes opened wide and he says dam got anymore.. so out comes the big cup… even if it isn’t exactly the sa.e..(a little sweeter) I got a hit..a little more expensive..most wines run about 10 cents to 30 cents.a bottle. this was a dollar..( not including the bottle cork etc) the forbidden wine was the most expensive but dam good..
now to let the boss have some and see if she goes (Yuck)
“Will Joe Brandt’s Dream happen this spring? ”
considering that dream.. the animals around here both wild and tame have been acting really strange.. doing things that they normally wouldn’t do.. I considered it the weather bringing it on.. but it is odd.. the birds will be visiting the feeder.. then all of a sudden they all look up and to the north west.. take the dog out.. and she will be doing her normal routine sniff.. and then stop.. look up and to the northwest then run like hell for home.. the squirrels same thing…. do they know something that the rest of us don’t.. and why the same direction
I thought maybe it was weather.. I know there are some research papers done that suggest that animals will align themselves with the magnetic north and south.. none of mine ever did that.. they aligned themselves with the wind and rain to keep it out of their face or butt..
I knew a guy that absolutely hated birds.. and they knew he hated them.. they would bombard him like a bird bombards a potential preditor.. ( I had one chew my butt out big time for taking down her nest.. she would put it up.. I would take it down and one day she let me have it.. quit it you big dummy that is my home.. so I built her one.. she still lives there to this day.. what was funny there is .. it doesn’t matter what species of bird it is.. if one is in trouble all the birds come from all over to assist them.. Rocky the squirrel was going up the tree close to mammas nest.. she tried to get him down.. he kept going she went to the street light a half block away squaking like crazy.. every bird around all species came and chased rocky down the street.. amazing to watch.. they showed the young exasperated momma bird last summer where to find food for her babies.. the momma was up must have been complaining about where to get it.. anyway at the building across from our house we noticed that birds from all over went and landed.. just stood there..young momma bird would go over and pick up the worm or grub.. the other bird would fly away.. they did that until the babies were fed.. humans can learn a lot from animals)
anyway.. there have been some strange things going on in the wild and tame animals around these parts.. why I don’t have a clue..

George,
This mornings’ analysis made me wonder if stocks were now a legitimate inflationary hedge in view of inevitable fed printing and worthy of BTFD strategy.
If the dollar does fall out of favor, (still low probability IMO) and yuan / ruble trade eclipses the petrodollar, what happens to US stock prices denominated in dollars? Should we be buying wheelbarrows?
Rick I wish I had a reliable answer. In a sense, yes, plant, equipment and even market share is fungible.
BUT if we get a real doozy of a deflationary recession, then the fed will simply be in the position of trying to out print asset and savings collapse. So it could go either way.
Which is why this morning’s focus on market peaks or running on into fall could be important. Next week or two should tell. Magic made up money is most unpredictable in the hands of the mob
Maybe I’ll pick up a couple of wheelbarrows; can use them around the garden if it doesn’t pan out.
Thanks
I ain’t saying where I’m going or anything like that. I will be far away from the coast, tho. DUDE said, it’s time to go. and go I am.
not to ure neck of the woods. never heard back about that which we talked about. if it resurfaces? I will give it a ponder.
remember when I told you about being placed by “the wet spot”, on “the hard woods” and then going over to telling everyone it was an “exit only” and laughing while at “The Summet” building.
the light fixtures above are wood carved microscopic slides of local plant life. pretty trippy, because the “hard wood floors” have shadows of what looks like when light is cast on a slide through a microscope…

I’ve never seen so many things that could go wrong…
There’s a fair possibility that a USD spent in the USA will be worth m/l what it is worth now. It will simply be worthless on the world stage, and therefore, U.S. imports will be bought at the NY Fed by moving piles of gold bars from one nation’s cage to another (assuming, of course, all those gold bars actually contain gold, and not tungsten), just like was done after WW-II…
the problem I see with a civil war…
IT WOULD ONLY CAUSE THE OPPOSITE ..
“Which is a useful analysis when following the Vice headline “The Far Right Is Calling For Bloody ‘Civil War’ After Trump’s Indictment.”
Invoke the War Powers act… the best way to change the way things are run is to …………VOTE……..
In the past that was the best way to change an administration.. UNFORTUNATELY… we don’t vote out the crap that is in office.. we have the same worthless crap that we had when I was learning how to shave..
https://youtu.be/lhe286ky-9A
https://anticorruptionact.org/
as long as we keep voting in the same old group that not only have the worst past work history in america.. but hints of being owned .. poor work history.. heck they only work twenty six days a year.. now there is talk of another day off a week.. I guess I will call it Wanker Wednesday.. it will go with masterbation monday..
and many of them only show up a small percentage of the time.. when I ran a cleaning crew.. I had a calendar.. each employee had a colored star sticker.. ( like they do to check a childs attendance) and I would put one up the days they called in sick.. with in a short time I knew when they weren’t going to be there and would schedule accordingly.. make them punch a time clock.. or go by the point system.. they are late a quarter hour.. then they lose a quarter point.. etc.. sixteen points they are history and a runner up takes the job.. just like a company.. vote them out.. why you would fire an employee that refused to do his job.. yet we glorify those in politics that hint of corruptive work ethics and have poor attendance.. fire them at the poles.. if we don’t then we deserve their shitty work ethics and their poor attention to the needs of the voters..
I know for a fact that during session in congress that my representitives were still here.. I had coffee with the pilot to the private jet that the lobbyists pay for.. he was needing to take the plane up to get some flight hours.. the azz was at home..
anyway I will leave you with a quote from a great man.. Martin Luther King..
“Violence begets violence; hate begets hate; and toughness begets a greater toughness. It is all a descending spiral, and the end is destruction — for everybody. Along the way of life, someone must have enough sense and morality to cut off the chain of hate.” -Martin Luther King Jr. that also goes for corruption.. if it is illegal.. then they must follow the laws.. its like insurance companies.. the only company where it is legal to withhold policy or gouge those that want the product.. if they deem you a bad risk.. they can charge you whatever they want to discourage you to not get it.. even though the end results of not having it will only cause them to raise their rates for those that do buy it.. see the money someone else doesn’t have gets passed on to those that do have the policies.. a doctor refuses to see a patient because he cannot afford to pay the huge cost is sent to the ER where the cost is ten to a thousand times more.. the guy going to the ER doesn’t have that money yet.. so those charges are passed down to the doctor in the form of higher clinic space rent and to those that do have insurance.. etc.. I took care of one guy for thirty tylenol.. ( he had to get them from the medical facility pharmacy.. he couldn’t go out and buy some at the store.. we had to flush them) they charged him almost fifteen dollars a tylenol.. I seen his bill.. where he could pick up the same generic tylenol for less than a nickle a piece..and if you lived in Canada or Mexico.. less than a penny a piece at the time.. ( aspirin on sale was less than a quarter per hundred bottle at that time) we sell our pharmaceuticals for tens of thousands of percent more to the very people that pay them research grants to find and produce them..
“
“Illegal? We’ll have that done by the end of the day. Unconstitutional ? That may take us ’til the end of the week.”
.
“When money is involved., lots of it., there is no ‘legal’, or ‘illegal’, there is only – ‘get it done’.
I can ‘see’ your reasoning – and I thought of going short at the close yesterday – but my numbers did not convince me enough to do so. So.., I am on the side-lines – looking-n-waiting.
– It appears that we are right on the cusp of making a major change in the Elliot Wave numbers/count – I think I know which way this is going for the Summer [ the markets]., but with money on the table., I require ‘proof’., and I have none, at the moment. Missing a trade is forgivable.., losing a trade based on a hunch is bad practice. Though I do admit that on occasion, I do wander into the deep-end of the pool based solely on ‘a feeling’. It is at this time, that my T.I. Scientific calls me some very bad names.

If you are so incline – take a look-see at this new book. Pretty informative and educational.., by a very good author. Read the description blurb and the reviews.
The Real Work: On the Mystery of Mastery / Hardcover – 2023

My family lives in Fallbrook CA, which is closer to yesterday’s earthquake then Temecula. My husband and I both heard and felt a moving rumble coming down the hill just above our property to the southwest of us and then a big jolt as it hit the house. The strange thing is the earthquake was directly east of us. Even stranger, neither of our sons or a girlfriend who was visiting heard or felt a thing.
Our cats have been acting mighty strange the last week or two as well. Neither of them like our German Shepherd much yet they have taken to sleeping with us. One is semi-feral and meows and kneads on me throughout the night. She also meets us at the door meowing non-stop when we get home. The other has a chronic condition and has stopped eating and is refusing his meds.
We are at 759 feet so I’m hoping we become one of those tiny islands on the Edgar Cayce map.
you know what the difference is this time George compared to the last time I went on a “walk about?”
normally DUDE says, “just bring your books and clothes. everything else will be provided.”
and it always is.
this time DUDE said, “Bring your books, and clothes. add “Guns, Amo and a safe” with you this trip.
I said okay DUDE. I got it.
DUDE has never told me to bring guns and amo before.
very interesting.
it’s not that I will be off grid by choice. there just isn’t any cell service for 100 square miles where I’m going. and I’m super good with that.
guess we will all see. wonder if you got the “earth quake tireds” tooo? an anonymous tipster from Australia thinks it is so. but the day after I leave the coast.
hmmm..
which I had no plans of doing so until last week.
“it’s not that I will be off grid by choice. there just isn’t any cell service for 100 square miles where I’m going. and I’m super good with that.”
I was in such a place, in the middle of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (have been there several times.) The feeling of peace is amazing, the quiet is deafening, the air, ridiculously clean and the night sky, amazingly filled with stars — You might see a human twice a day (I saw wolves and on one trip, bears, more-often than people.)
I swear — if it weren’t for the 40-below and the 210″ of snow.
Have a safe one…
yeah man. no electrical power lines or any of that that up there. all natural power. pure serenity. after work of course,
I will be
mining the spirit. so to speak.
you know I just got confirmation from a guy who tries to be a real world spider man. in directly he said, ” you are my dude and it is Wednesday.”
hmmmm.
reminds me of getting that spider at the scorpions concert from that Ukraine girl.
thanks. ray. it’s not that cold up there. haha. not Alaska cold. and im not going to Alaska.
Wind chill is what gets you on the mountain tops. Insulation and Goretex for the wind are needed. I betting the early morning wind chill will be as bad as anything you have encountered.
Polar Fleece with wind block – standard yachty fare even 20-years ago
G____- The fleece alone is good three seasons on dry days. A waterproof shell (with pit zips) is needed for 40+ mph wind and freezing rain and sleet blowing sideways, which can happen three seasons at higher elevations. Personally, I try to avoid that kind of environment except for warm season sightseeing. Andy will make a first rate 24/7/365.25 mountain man with the right wardrobe.
That’s when I drag out my Ocean ATX offshore jacket ($650 in 1990…) Yeah baby, there’s some sailing weather for you!@
n____ & George:
You guys are making it far too difficult. A trash bag works as well, costs 59¢, and fits in a pocket, with space left over. You can even wear two, one inside your coat and one outside (but you’d better be underdressed, and it’d better be really cold. Nothing insulates like an airgap sandwiched between two impermeable membranes. Trash bags also dry out much faster than any fabric. The only thing they don’t give you is head & face protection. I favor a (real) ski mask and if I needed wind protection, would use a $2 pocket poncho and pull its hood over the mask.
I’m mentioning this to y’all because Andy already knows it…
For cold weather skiing or camping outdoors in a tent, NOT in some cabin, I am a big believer in outer clothing that has a Gore-Tex shell and is then layered down to wool long johns (top and bottom) with dacron /nylon the skin. Of course THICK wool socks with nylon undersocks are a REQUIREMENT. Don’t forget the ski /snow mobile /work outer garments for your legs either!! – but it has to be made of a durable material, more so than coats imo.
Agree about the face mask to which I would add a nylon /dacron baclava on head with the rest of your head gear on top of that and water proof leather gloves lined with wool (combo is hard to find anymore). If windy ski goggles will be very appreciated for help keeping the cold wind off your face. (once in Banff it was so cold and windy I even wore ski goggles just for walking one block down the street)
I learned I could survive 3 continuous days of living in a tent in the cold with highs down in the -5 to -10 range (lows about -20 to -25), but it is not something I would jump at doing regularly. Don’t forget to “air out” your clothes AND sleeping bag daily … they will pick up a LOT Of moisture and need to be “aired out” (ie will become stiff as cardboard as the water in them freezes before it evaporates) so they retain their insulation abilities.
Andy,
What’s written on your business card?
Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.

could be a military thing too. that has occurred to me. the likelihood of a military strike on the west coast is very slim. but I do find it interesting that last week I get a call, 2 days later i got a super good gig. and this Wednesday night I will be in route couple states over in the middle of fucking nowhere. working. I mean you think you are in the sticks George. I will be in the sticks of the sticks. when I talked to them. they sent me a map. they said you will loose GPS about 80 miles from where you are going. There is no cell service out here for miles. you will need the map. I said okay I’m good with that. thanks for the opportunity. bring books, clothes, guns and amo. got it.
so, for some reason DUDE wants me away from the coast and miles and miles and miles away from any city bigger than 4000 people. the closest city which is miles away is population 4000.
I didn’t even know places like that still existed. I’m sure DUDE knew about all this long before I got Here. I will be alright.
the thing is that Australia tipster had no idea that the day he picked was on the anniversary of me being on the hopi rez. people said, is it an earthquake? he said it was worse than that. don’t be on the coast. that was a month ago.
hmmm.. could all be bull shit though. either way. I gotta make a living and this is a good Opertunity to do so. I don’t really like city living and all that.
see ya man.
Not sure how long you will be out in the hinterlands. Satellite data might be a possibility, but the price is high, and contracts are required. I looked at the Starlink site, and was stricken by sticker shock. Still, they now have a mobile version you can take on the road. If your employer has wifi, you can upload and download via cell phone during break. Satellite phones are out way up there in price.
besides all that. when I’m out and about helping someone else find their way. it’s super cool that when someone says to another person. who the fuck we gonna trust to run that $1.5 million machine up there? the other guy says, I know just the guy. calls me and said what are you doing? I said helping someone. you know me. why? he said we need your help too. if your not working. I can do that. I can run that for ya. cool. see ya soon.
pretty cool. whether or not it’s the end of the world.
respected,
integrity.
trustworthy.
Righteous.
And Just.
ya know?
Re: Wei Mar-a-Lago
feat. Stormy Seas
Folks,
The BBC’s New York correspondent has reported on the positive effects of the Trump indictment upon merchandise sales. Mr. Trump’s corner alleges $4 million was raised in a 24 hour period with t-shirts such as “I stand with Trump” for donations of $47 or greater. In the other corner, “#Team Stormy” is hawking shirts at $20 a pop as well as a $30 Trump dog chew toy. Tsk tsk, and to think that in less stormy times Mr. Trump had apparently considered this woman as a participant for “The Apprentice”. Delightful. Ivanka vs. Stormy could have been quite the engagement. However as one might agree, the main card now seems to be yielding higher revenue. Someone will be fired?
In case anyone was wondering, the combined efforts of the US Consulate in Lusaka, the government of Zambia, and local anecdotal memory did serve to locate the bare plot of land, 16 Independence Avenue, formerly featuring the home of VP Harris’ maternal Indian grandfather. The facts appear to be that this African anchor of the VP ancestral history had a three year stint in the former Northern Rhodesia colony while as an Indian civil servant he attended to (Indian?) refugee matters in the wake of Mr. Kuanda seizing power. (President Kuanda GCIH SCOT is of course now more warmly remembered in these awoken times.)
Speaking of awoke at the switch, here’s DJ George tidying up the headlines of the week with yet another Fab Four number:
Norwegian Wood
(This bird has flown)
Re: Cyber Z Front debate ends early
feat. a black hat
Folks,
Msm is reporting on the figurine explosion at the St. Petersburg cafe formerly owned by the head of Wagner Group. Telegram channel Baza has posted an alleged predetonation video that portrays the intact statue’s presence. It appears to be clad in a black hat and a telnyashka.
I chatted with an online AI, who will go unnamed, regarding phone service from remote locations, and [redacted] mentioned three satellite VOIP services:
1. Viasat Voice
2. Hughesnet Voice
3. RedPort VoIP
I have no experience with these services, and satellite transceivers and contracts are not cheap. It would still be significantly cheaper than a satellite phone for anything other than shortest term use.
On a more conventional note, I’m getting good service out of the MagicJack, at $3 a month, for my public VOIP phone line. Their attendant screening is an effective robo call killer. To get the same level of spam protection on a cell phone potentially costs a gazillion bucks.
I have started evaluating unlimited cell phone services for the new Samsung A14 5G. Looks like my first pick with a sub-$30 unlimited plan is going to be hard to beat. Not comfortable with giving them a plug yet. Ratings by Trustpilot and others were high, and service is in line with the ratings.
The discount cell phone service providers don’t consistently seem to have Spam filtering. The Samsung phone has a Hiya-based gratis filter buried in the phone settings. For messages, Google has a spam filter available under Android 13. These filters seem to work OK. Efforts to find an add-on attendant robo-killer app to duplicate the MajicJack VOIP Experience proved to be futile (In fairness, I had the same sort of call screening with a different VOIP service). There is an add-on service which turns the cell phone into a full service VOIP-like line, but it costs more than my monthly cell service,
I would log in to read Ure entire post, but am still waiting to hear back whether the $40 showed up from Paypal back in mid-December. The email I received stated Paypal had not been checked yet, but there wasn’t a follow up email for after Paypal was checked.
Trump stated, while president, that the US should inflate to lower the debt. Powell is his fedhead. Larry Kudlow was his economic advisor. His show can be found here: https://wabcradio.com/podcast/larry-kudlow/
GorillaTrades got it right as always a couple months ago when they sent out a missive stating stocks would grind upward. Here’s part of their latest daily email:
“Thus, 26 of the 29 confirmed GorillaPicks in the GorillaTrades portfolio now hold unrealized gains, including more than half (14) with double-digit gains. And this number is very deceiving because only LKQ (LKQ), which is down 1.6%, is down more than a fraction of 1%. Clean Harbors (CLH) and Iridium (IRDM) hold 21% and 22% unrealized gains, respectively. Green Brick Partners (GRBK) holds a 39% gain. STMicroelectronics (STM) and Comfort Systems (FIX) hold 45% gains each, while Hershey (HSY) leads the portfolio with a very impressive 63% gain. In addition, after Copart (CPRT) and Monster Beverage (MNST) achieved their first target on Friday for 8% and 8.5% profits, respectively, 18 different GorillaPicks have now achieved their first targets.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a 4-to-1 ratio on the NYSE on Friday (compared to an incredible 29-to-1 winning ratio in the GT portfolio), with 51 stocks hitting new 52-week highs and 11 stocks hitting new 52-week lows, while volume was quite light.
·Stocks finished the week broadly higher despite the mixed price action at the level of the major indices as global risk assets recovered following the past weeks’ banking chaos
·The Nasdaq scored a seven-week high in the second half of the week, while the Dow and the S&P 500 both hit one-month highs
·The financial sector and small-cap banks remained under pressure, but that was not enough to halt the broad-based recovery rally
·Treasury yields pushed moved as fears of a banking crisis and a global recession eased, with the benchmark 10-year yield recapturing the 3.5% level.
·The Core PCE Price Index, the Fed’s preferred inflation measure, surprised on the downside, giving bulls hope that price pressures will further ease in the coming months
Stocks settled down following several weeks of nervous and volatile trading on Wall Street as investors reevaluated the risk of a banking crisis in the wake of the past weeks’ deals and the measures taken by governments and central banks. While the financial sector remained weak, especially from a technical perspective, the rest of the market recovered well. The Nasdaq even resumed its rally despite a rebound in Treasury yields. Most sectors closed the week and the month clearly in the green despite the banking woes, but it’s too early to conclude that it will be smooth sailing for bulls in the coming weeks.
The U.S. economy sent mostly positive signals this week, with even the struggling manufacturing and housing sectors showing signs of a rebound. The CB consumer confidence number, the Richmond Manufacturing Index, the Chicago PMI, the Case-Shiller Housing Price, pending home sales, and personal income all surprised on the upside, although the manufacturing measures continued to point to contraction. On a negative note, the fourth-quarter GDP print was revised slightly lower while personal spending also missed, but the risk of a full-blown recession remains low in the coming quarters.

“Trump stated, while president, that the US should inflate to lower the debt. ”
Trump stated, while he was on the campaign trail, and only once, that the U.S. debt was such that the only two ways to fix it would be hyperinflation or repudiation. After saying that in a campaign speech, he was hushed up, and never repeated the statement. Trump is a Wharton-educated businessman, which means he has a significant, if not thorough background in economics. Any economist who doesn’t have MMT stuck up his backside will tell you the same. We can postpone the inevitable, but we can not deny it nor lessen the blow, when it arrives.
With BRICS moving to establish a reserve currency and a petro-currency that are decoupled from the USD, our ability to postpone the crash may soon be taken out of our hands. Said crash will take everybody down, but BRICS is attempting to mitigate the effect on its members & satellites, so they recover first, and strongest…
The US is propaganda.
BRICS has been planned and operating for decades.
The economic issues have not touched Russia.
I am an economist by education…that degree should be in the philosophy department with religion, not in the business school…it’s, at best, theory and guessing, used as
propaganda.
And, no, we are STILL not in a recession.
If it was time for the crash, the fed would not have just bailed people out again. These idiots are not ready to crash things yet. They might not get to crash things, but let’s do keep believing and trading based on the headlines that take you where they want us to go instead of us deciding and going where we want to go.
“This storm, and its kin, were not done, though. At least 3 killed, dozens hurt as powerful storm system hits several states.”
One town which doesn’t show up in the Arkansas news is Sullivan, Indiana. A friend sent me a few pix. I’ve been through Sullivan a few times. It’s between Terre Haute and Vincennes on U.S. Highway 41 (a “Ramblin’ Man” would know exactly…) Sorry to say I can’t remember much about it, although my memory impression is it was a town of 3000-4000 people.
A tornado in the squall line destroyed it last night. There was one brick building, about the size of a department store or hotel, which looked like it could be salvaged. The rest of the town looked like Lynn, Indiana and Xenia, Ohio after the F-5s (or Hiroshima on the day after). There’s simply nothing left. I was not storm-chasing last night and would have been in Iowa if I were…
The loss of life and property will rival the Mississippi storms.
I give the low-life bastards in D.C. until, maybe tomorrow, before they politicize this outbreak. Someone will invariably say: “This is the worst outbreak of Spring tornadoes since________. We’ve got to do something about climate change, now!”
They won’t even see the logical incongruity of their statement, and they all assume we worthless peasants are too stupid to notice their faux pas…

Thanks. That’s different from what I saw. That is incredible damage of, IIRC, brick+stick houses, many dating from about the 1850s and built out of hardwood lumber.
NOAA is preliminarily saying “EF-3…”
I’m saying REAL F-3 or small F-4.
” Media Bias Fact Check, “Overall, we rate Vice Media Left-Center Biased due to wording and story selection that moderately favors the left.”
Which is why I refuse to accept any fact-check or bias rating MBFC makes.
Leftist fact-checkers suck at arithmetic. They believe the center point of a 10-point number line is “3” or “4” instead of “5” and their skewed cipherin’ skews their evaluations.
VICE is far Left — not radical far Left like the Socialist Worker’s Newsletter or the speechwriter Soros found for All Out Crazy, but decidedly farther Left than CNN…
“King Charles snubbed by Joe Biden as US President turns down invitation to Coronation.”
Parliamentary monarchies are all about pomp and fanfare, decorum and respect. Yeah, the figurehead can’t order your head be offed any more, but dis the King and the PM or Foreign Secretary can be too busy to answer the phone when Creepy Joe gets his butt in a sling, and MI-6 may forget to share those communiques in a timely manner…
Monarchies change crowns once every 30-40 years, on average. It is a much bigger deal than when we elect a President. Biden should absolutely go — or at least accept the invitation (so he can “become suddenly ill” and have to send a representative in his place.) Of course, I can’t think of a single Democrat who could be the Official Representative of the President for such an occasion — Bill Clinton is probably the closest they’ve got…
Need Inflation and Want deflation is what will happen.
Though as you wrote, in Gernmany the dilution of currency was what was necessary in Weinmar 1. Might just be that is what is going on to save pensions and such. The key is to have positioned one self to live with that future. Which means not being dependent upon need imports (even if to grow other needs, ie fossil fuels and fertilizers for farming).
Then again, am I living in a dream where I am creating the reality which I see? Some days I really wonder if this is the case.
